Come on, let's grab our Bibles as we get
-
ready to get into this word. Whether
-
it's a paper Bible, phone Bible, uh
-
tablet, whatever it is that you have. E
-
church, I want you to grab your Bible.
-
Make this confession with us. Come on,
-
say, "This is my Bible.
-
>> This is my
-
>> It is God's word.
-
>> It reveals to me.
-
>> God's will.
-
>> Therefore,
-
>> therefore,
-
>> it's the final authority.
-
>> The final authority
-
>> to which I submit
-
>> to settle all the issues
-
>> settle all the issues
-
>> of my life."
-
>> of my life. It's the standard the
-
standard
-
>> of my conduct
-
>> and the basis of all my expectations.
-
>> all my expectations.
-
>> Shout it out. I am
-
>> I am
-
>> what it says I am.
-
>> It says
-
>> I possess what it says I possess.
-
>> I can do.
-
>> I can do
-
>> absolutely everything.
-
>> Absolutely everything
-
>> it says I can do.
-
>> It says I do.
-
>> I'm a believer.
-
>> Not a doubter.
-
>> I'm a doer.
-
>> Not just a hearer.
-
>> And my life. In my life,
-
>> my everyday life,
-
>> my everyday life
-
>> is the better
-
>> is the better.
-
>> After having heard
-
>> after having
-
>> the word of faith.
-
>> The word of faith.
-
>> Faith comes by hearing.
-
>> Faith comes by hearing
-
>> and hearing.
-
>> And hearing
-
>> and hearing by
-
>> the word of God.
-
>> Word of God.
-
>> Let's rise.
-
>> Yes, Lord. You may be seated in the
-
presence of the Lord.
-
>> Amen. Amen.
-
My God,
-
on New Year's Eve,
-
>> God gave us a phrase
-
for the transition.
-
>> Yeah. God gave us a phrase for the
-
transition. We talked about Joshua and
-
the children of Israel and the
-
transition that they were in and uh we
-
paralleled it to our transition not just
-
from one year to the other but also the
-
transition of this church
-
>> as we are transitioning new leadership
-
>> and God gave us a word to look at
-
Joshua's situation and parallel it to
-
our situation and God told us that we
-
have the very same mission that Joshua
-
had.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> When Joshua transitioned from Moses, he
-
said, "Listen, I'm not giving you a new
-
mission. You had the same mission."
-
>> That you are to go and possess the land.
-
>> And I can't even get any further into
-
this lesson because I got to tell us as
-
Cornelia, we have the same mission.
-
>> That God has given us the same mission.
-
But not just corporately, but you and I
-
have that mission personally
-
>> that there is land there is there is
-
territory that God wants us to take.
-
>> Oh yeah, let's ride. There's territory
-
that God wants us to take.
-
>> That that that there is financial
-
territory that God wants us to take.
-
>> I know 2025 may have been challenging,
-
but I need you to know that the mission
-
has not changed.
-
>> That there is territory. There is land
-
that God wants us to possess.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> Yeah. There's there there's physical
-
territory that God wants you to possess.
-
>> There's a level of health in your body
-
that God wants you to possess.
-
>> There's relational territory that God
-
wants you to possess.
-
>> You have a good marriage, God wants a
-
good marriage to be better. Amen.
-
>> If you have a challenging ma marriage,
-
God wants that marriage to be better.
-
>> And that is territory that you and I
-
must go after and take.
-
>> Some of you need to take take territory
-
uh back with your children.
-
>> Take territory back with with your
-
siblings.
-
>> Y'all hadn't been talking for 10 years
-
over $20. No, you need to take THAT
-
BACK.
-
YOU KNOW, THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE MONEY TO
-
START WITH. COME ON, TAKE THAT BACK.
-
TAKE THAT TERRITORY. SEE, TIME IS MOVING
-
too fast for us to allow trivial things
-
to steal from us.
-
>> Oh, yeah. YOU GOT TO TAKE IT BACK.
-
>> BUMP YOUR NEIGHBOR. SAY, "Take it back."
-
>> Take it back.
-
>> I refuse to spend another year wondering
-
if God wants me to have it. I GOT TO
-
TAKE IT BACK. AMEN.
-
>> The promise wasn't passive.
-
>> He said, "WHEREVER YOU PUT THE SOLES OF
-
YOUR FEET, I'LL GIVE IT TO YOU."
-
>> Could have, would have, should have is
-
the saddest song ever sung. You got to
-
put your faith on it. TOUCH IT AND SAY,
-
"Put your faith on it."
-
>> They put their foot on it.
-
>> You and I have to put our faith on it.
-
>> I know it's been a long time, but put
-
your faith back on it.
-
>> Yeah, it's been a while. and you stop
-
praying about it. You stop putting it on
-
your vision board. You stop confessing
-
it. YOU YOU YOU TOLD YOUR PRAYER PARTNER
-
>> and they haven't heard you say it in a
-
while
-
>> because you you you it's been a while
-
and you have kind of just taken it taken
-
it out the out of what God have for you.
-
Can I tell you something? God had
-
changed his mind.
-
>> Oh, God hadn't changed his mind.
-
>> You just let time discourage you.
-
Good.
-
>> God still wants you to possess the land.
-
>> God still wants you to take that
-
territory.
-
>> Same mission.
-
>> Say we had the same mantle. We still had
-
the same presence of God with us.
-
>> We still had the same message. God said,
-
"Be strong
-
>> and courageous.
-
>> Don't be afraid." Amen.
-
>> We had the same mission. We have the
-
same mantle. We have the same message.
-
And to this response,
-
>> Joshua told the officers to tell the
-
people, "Let's ride."
-
>> Oh, he he told to let's ride. And we
-
define let's ride. Give me my first
-
slide. The definition of let's ride.
-
yet. Let's ride
-
>> is a bold yes
-
>> to the will of will and promise of God.
-
It's a bold yes.
-
>> This is not a weak yes.
-
>> This is not a discouraged yes.
-
>> This is not a negative yes.
-
>> This is It didn't happen last year, BUT
-
I DON'T KNOW. NO, I CAN'T HELP THAT IT
-
DIDN'T HAPPEN LAST YEAR. I still have a
-
bold yes.
-
Let's ride is a bold yes to the will and
-
promises of God.
-
>> It's a bold yes to God's will and his
-
promises
-
>> to the things he said you should. Peace
-
should still be yours.
-
>> NO, NO, NO, NO. PEACE SHOULD STILL be
-
yours.
-
>> It's a bold yes. God didn't ask you to
-
consider your circumstances before you
-
agree with his word.
-
>> Oh yeah. He's not asking YOU TO SURVEY
-
WHAT YOU HAVE BEFORE YOU AGREE with his
-
word.
-
>> IT'S A BOLD YES FOR WE WALK BY FAITH.
-
>> Help me, Holy Ghost. It's a bold yes to
-
the will and the promise of God. Catch
-
this. It is the sound of confidence.
-
>> OH, LET'S RIDE. IS THE SOUND OF
-
CONFIDENCE.
-
>> Not in my ability.
-
>> See, because I would be sounding shaking
-
shaky if it was on me.
-
>> No, because I I know me.
-
>> And some of y'all know me.
-
>> And you know you. Don't look at me like
-
that. You know you.
-
>> But can I tell you something? It's
-
confidence in the one at the helm.
-
It it is confidence in the one that we
-
should have behind the wheel
-
>> and it is a yielded heart that is ready
-
for the journey.
-
>> Somebody say let's ride.
-
>> Let's ride.
-
>> God has called us to ride. But what God
-
arrested my attention
-
between Wednesday and today to let us
-
know that it's not enough to have God in
-
the car.
-
>> You have to let him be behind the wheel.
-
>> Today I want to talk to us from the
-
subject let him.
-
Let him,
-
>> you and I, if we're going to get to
-
where God wants us to be, it's not
-
enough for him to just be in the car.
-
See, let's ride gets us in the car and
-
we ready to go.
-
>> But you got to make sure that you let
-
the right one behind the wheel.
-
chapter 2 around verse 44, the Bible
-
talks about that Mary and Joseph, they
-
were journeying. They went up to
-
Jerusalem and they were coming back from
-
the city going back home and the Bible
-
said that they supposed that Jesus was
-
in the crowd
-
and they come to find out that they had
-
left Jesus back at Jerusalem.
-
>> They supposed that he was somewhere.
-
>> THEY FIGURED THAT HE WAS SOMEWHERE in
-
the crowd.
-
Maybe he back there with mama and them.
-
>> Maybe he back there with my uncle that
-
pray all the time.
-
>> Can I suggest to you
-
that if we're going to go and possess
-
the land that God has for us?
-
>> That it's not enough for Jesus just to
-
be somewhere in the car.
-
>> It It's not enough for him to be be I
-
think he's somewhere around here.
-
See, because that's what we do. We we
-
don't Oh, God.
-
>> We say he's somewhere
-
>> like like in my relationship with my
-
like my my grandmama know God.
-
>> My grandmama know God. She pray all the
-
time. So I you know I don't necessarily
-
have to pray like that cuz grandmama
-
going to pray for me. That's when he's
-
somewhere
-
>> that it's something he's my mama pray
-
all the time. I got to pray mama you
-
know. Mom, pray for me. She covered me.
-
That That's not enough.
-
>> It may have gotten you to where you are.
-
Maybe it have kept the devil off your
-
track, but if you're going to get to
-
where God has designed for your life, he
-
just can't be somewhere in the car.
-
>> You got to let him be behind the wheel.
-
>> Jesus has to be behind the wheel. In
-
order to go where Jesus desires to take
-
us, we have to, catch this, give up
-
control.
-
decide to walk by faith
-
>> and let him drive.
-
>> Point number one, how am I going to let
-
him? Number one, I have to acknowledge
-
who's driving.
-
>> No, if I'm going to let him, if I'm
-
going to have this ride, if I'm going to
-
have this bold confidence, the first
-
thing you and I must do is acknowledge
-
who's driving.
-
>> Yeah. But when we say let him, we're
-
surrendering control. We are
-
acknowledging that the road ahead, the
-
land that we're trying to possess is too
-
complex, too dangerous, and too big for
-
us to navigate by ourselves.
-
>> Oh, no, no, no. That's what I'm saying.
-
I'm admitting that I can't do this by
-
myself.
-
>> That's the start for SOME OF US RIGHT
-
NOW. We have to acknowledge. We have to
-
admit that we can't do this by
-
ourselves. Amen.
-
>> I know you smart.
-
>> I know you have chat GPT.
-
>> I know you have AI. See, YOU KNOW,
-
BECAUSE WE HAVE TO SAY THIS IN OUR DAY
-
because we have we have become so
-
reliant.
-
>> I'm afraid
-
>> I'm afraid that we'll we'll we'll let AI
-
replace prayer.
-
>> OH, WE'LL WE'LL ASK AI WHAT WE SHOULD DO
-
BEFORE WE ASK GOD WHAT WE SHOULD DO. BUT
-
YOU AND I MUST ACKNOWLEDGE WHO'S IN THE
-
DRIVER'S SEAT.
-
>> I APPRECIATE THOSE THINGS,
-
>> BUT I can't let them be in the driver's
-
seat.
-
>> I got to acknowledge
-
>> who who's actually
-
driving.
-
>> Catch this. Life never runs on
-
autopilot.
-
>> Someone or something is always driving.
-
No, no. Life never runs on autopilot.
-
>> Something
-
or someone
-
>> is driving.
-
>> No, some some something is IS ALWAYS
-
DRY. I got up this morning just as
-
tired.
-
>> My wife asked me, "How are you doing?"
-
And and I said, "How you feel?" I said,
-
"Oh." And I almost started just whining
-
right there.
-
And the Holy Spirit arrested me
-
>> and said, "You can't let your feelings
-
be in the driver's seat."
-
>> Now, it doesn't mean that I don't admit
-
when I'm tired.
-
>> It doesn't mean that I don't talk about
-
when I'm down,
-
>> but I can't LET IT DRIVE ME.
-
>> I CAN'T LET IT DRIVE ME. I CAN'T LET IT
-
STEER MY MOOD.
-
>> I can't let it make my decisions.
-
>> YEAH, SOME SOME OF US SOME OF US LET THE
-
blas behind the wheel.
-
>> I mean, I don't know.
-
I mean, I just don't know. I mean, I
-
don't even
-
Lift your hands and give God praise. I
-
don't I don't feel it.
-
>> You're letting it drive you. Yes.
-
>> I'm not saying YOU DON'T ACKNOWLEDGE IT,
-
BUT YOU CAN'T BE IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT.
-
>> Some of you let pride drive you.
-
>> Can't nobody tell you nothing.
-
>> OH NO. CAN'T NOBODY TELL YOU NOTHING.
-
They said the sky is blue and blue. Like
-
really is it blue? Like it's gray. Oh
-
god.
-
where you where you can't hear
-
>> anybody.
-
>> Where if IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE TO YOU,
-
YOU'RE NOT LISTENING.
-
>> If you don't see it, YOU'RE NOT GOING.
-
BUT CAN I TELL YOU, THERE'S SOME THINGS
-
THAT YOU CANNOT SEE.
-
>> There's some things that you do not
-
know. AND YOU HAVE TO HUMBLE YOURSELF.
-
PREACH, HOLY GHOST. YOU HAVE TO HUMBLE
-
YOURSELF.
-
>> Cuz pride is in the driver's seat.
-
Some of us let fear be in the driver's
-
seat.
-
>> Thank you, Pastor Tracy. Some of us have
-
let condemnation
-
>> from bad decisions
-
>> be in the driver's seat.
-
>> Yeah, you made the mistake. You messed
-
UP. THERE'S NO DOUBT ABOUT IT. YOU BLEW
-
IT. You can't put that one on nobody.
-
>> But you have allowed the condemnation of
-
the bad decision
-
>> to cause you now to get in the backseat.
-
And you don't even care who's driving.
-
>> You You don't even YOU DON'T EVEN CARE.
-
YES, YOU MESSED UP. BUT CAN I tell you,
-
God has given us a remedy for even
-
messing up?
-
>> He says, "If you confess your sins, I'm
-
faithful and just to forgive you of YOUR
-
SINS AND TO CLEANSE YOU FROM ALL
-
UNRIGHTEOUSNESS.
-
>> You can't allow Yeah, you made the bad
-
decision. It happened.
-
You can't do nothing about it now,
-
>> but learn from it.
-
>> Both your neighbor say, "Learn from it."
-
>> No, you got to learn. If you don't do
-
anything with it, learn from it.
-
>> No, you got to learn from that situation
-
because last year his name was Daecoin.
-
And if you don't learn from it, this
-
year his name will be Omar.
-
>> Y'all ain't going. I know it.
-
there. IT'LL BE THE SAME SITUATION,
-
>> DIFFERENT NAME,
-
>> SAME SITUATION, DIFFERENT STATE.
-
>> I KNOW SOME OF YOU TRYING TO MOVE AWAY
-
FROM GREENVILLE SO BAD, BUT YOU GOT TO
-
UNDERSTAND IT'S NOT WHERE YOU ARE. IT'S
-
NOT IT'S NOT ABOUT WHERE YOU where you
-
go to.
-
>> My mom USED TO TELL ME ALL THE TIME, SHE
-
SAID, "I DON'T CARE WHERE YOU GO. YOU
-
GOT TO TAKE YOURSELF with you.
-
Who's driving?
-
>> No, I GOT TO I GOT TO I GOT TO STOP AND
-
pause and ask myself who is driving.
-
>> Bad decisions have you singing kra sar.
-
>> Whatever will be the devil is a liar.
-
>> No, it's going to be what I call it and
-
I want to say what he said.
-
>> Hallelujah.
-
I WANT TO SAY WHAT HE SAID.
-
>> That's right.
-
>> Oh god. Here we go.
-
>> Some of y'all letting your horoscope
-
drive you.
-
>> NO. LET'S GO. LET'S GO. LET'S GO. LET'S
-
GO. NO, YOU LET YOUR HOROSCOPE DRIVE
-
YOU.
-
>> I refuse
-
>> TO LET SOMEBODY TELL ME
-
>> BECAUSE I'M BORN IN A CERTAIN MONTH, I'M
-
SUPPOSED TO ACT THAT WAY.
-
NO,
-
>> NO, NO,
-
>> NO,
-
>> NO, NO.
-
>> We are believers.
-
>> We live by the word.
-
>> I'm a scorpion. I DON'T TRUST NOBODY.
-
WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?
-
>> NO, YOU'RE BLOODWASHED. YOU'RE BORN
-
AGAIN. YOU'RE SAVED. YOU BELONG TO HIM.
-
GET YOUR HOROSCOPE OUT OF THE DRIVER'S
-
SEAT.
-
>> HALLELUJAH.
-
>> Somebody say I have to let him.
-
>> I have to let him.
-
>> I have to let to let to let means to
-
allow or to permit to give permission.
-
You have to let God.
-
>> You have to You have to let God. He
-
said, "Behold, I stand at the door." And
-
>> you see See, see, God is not like my
-
parents.
-
My parents didn't knock on no door. Not
-
when I lived in their house.
-
Look at my mama. She's shaking her head.
-
I AIN'T KNOCKING ON NOTHING I PAY FOR.
-
She said, "I'LL TAKE THE KNOB OFF OF it
-
before I knock."
-
>> See? See?
-
>> But God is not like man.
-
>> He's going to stand there and knock.
-
Yeah.
-
>> He said, "I stand at the door and knock
-
>> on the life he gave you." He's standing
-
outside knocking
-
>> with the breath he gave you. He's
-
standing out there knocking
-
>> with the sense he gave you. He's
-
standing out there knocking. And you and
-
I have a choice whether we're going to
-
let him in.
-
>> He's not kicking the door down.
-
>> No, no, no. You think that's God kicking
-
the door down. That's just the
-
consequences of your bad decisions.
-
>> And God, DID GOD JUST COME IN AND TOLD
-
MY LIFE? OH, NO, HE DIDN'T. He was
-
standing knocking
-
>> with wisdom.
-
>> HE WAS STANDING KNOCKING WITH THE WORD.
-
HE WAS STANDING KNOCKING WHEN HE WAS
-
SPEAKING THROUGH YOUR PASTOR. HE WAS
-
STANDING KNOCKING WHEN HE WAS TRYING TO
-
TALK TO YOU THROUGH YOUR ACCOUNTABILITY.
-
>> Your neighbor say you got to let him.
-
to let him just to allow or to permit or
-
to release or relinquish.
-
>> If we're going to let God, we we got to
-
release or relinquish the wheel. Who's
-
behind the wheel?
-
>> We got to acknowledge who's driving
-
if we're going to let him. That means to
-
allow or permit or to release or
-
relinquish or catch this or to yield or
-
surrender.
-
>> For some of us, this is what God is
-
calling for. If we're going to if we're
-
going to less ride this year,
-
>> you're going to have to yield.
-
>> Yeah.
-
>> You going you going to have to you have
-
to yield and surrender that area that
-
you've been holding on to.
-
>> I'm not talking about the one you let go
-
in 2025. I'm talking about the one you
-
holding on to.
-
>> I'm I'm talking about that one. I'm
-
talking about the ONE YOU YOU YOU'RE
-
COVERING.
-
>> I'm talking about the one that you're
-
MAKING EXCUSES TO HOLD on to.
-
>> Oh yeah. I'm I'm talking about THE ONE
-
THAT YOU'RE TRYING TO FIND SCRIPTURE AND
-
FIND SOMEBODY ONLINE TO VALIDATE YOUR
-
POSTURE WHEN THE HOLY GHOST BEEN TOLD
-
YOU TO LET IT GO.
-
>> You have to yield
-
>> and surrender.
-
>> See, catch this. Catch.
-
All of us have those areas in our lives
-
>> that that coming to the altar one time
-
don't help. Come on.
-
>> No, excuse me. It helped. It don't fix
-
it.
-
>> It helps,
-
>> but it doesn't fix it.
-
>> You came up here one time.
-
>> You can't No, it's not going to be that
-
one time
-
>> that's going to get that done.
-
>> It may have gotten SOME OTHER THINGS
-
DONE, BUT NOT THIS.
-
>> OH, YEAH. RIDE, Holy Ghost. RIDE. NOT
-
NOT NOT that one thing that THE HOLY
-
GHOST POINTS OUT TO YOU.
-
NO, you going to have you got to you got
-
to yield
-
>> and catch this
-
>> and keep on yielding.
-
>> That's right.
-
>> You going to have to surrender
-
>> and keep on surrendering
-
>> every day. Get Lord, I give it to you.
-
>> Lord, I yield it to you.
-
>> Lord, I thank you for BRINGING ME
-
THROUGH YESTERDAY,
-
>> BUT TODAY, LORD, I yield it to you.
-
>> Why? Because I want him in the driver's
-
seat.
-
I got to let him. I got to let him.
-
>> I got to let him. First, I got to
-
acknowledge who's driving.
-
>> Secondly,
-
after I acknowledge who's driving, catch
-
this.
-
I have to trust the GPS of his word.
-
>> I have to trust the GPS of his word.
-
I acknowledge who's driving. And I get
-
God in the driver's seat. But catch this
-
y'all. We got to trust the GPS of his
-
word.
-
>> When you let God drive, catch this. His
-
word becomes your GPS.
-
>> It gives you direction when emotions are
-
loud.
-
>> When doubt creeps in
-
>> and when the road ahead feels uncertain.
-
>> Yeah. I got to I got to trust the GPS of
-
his word. I I I can The Bible says Psalm
-
119 105, write this down. He says, "Your
-
word is a lamp
-
>> to my feet
-
>> and a light unto my path."
-
>> I can I can remember, you know, I told
-
y'all I like to go riding. Yeah, I like
-
to go riding. And most often times when
-
I go riding or even if I have a
-
destination that I'm going to, I don't
-
like to go back home the same way I
-
came.
-
Something about me likes the challenge
-
of just going and and the scenery of
-
seeing something different.
-
>> So, I'll go to a place and then I get
-
ready to come back home. I want to go to
-
a different route. So, I will put my
-
home destination in my GPS.
-
Larry, I'll start following my GPS. This
-
is crazy.
-
until it tells me to take a path that
-
I'm not familiar with.
-
>> What kind of foolishness?
-
Why would why would I put the
-
destination in
-
>> supposedly trusting it to take me back
-
home
-
>> and then when it shows me something that
-
I'm not used to
-
>> try to revert back to what I know
-
>> or what I think I know.
-
>> I can't tell you how many times
-
>> it tells me to go this way
-
>> and I've said to myself, Dr. Berry
-
421.
-
Highway 421. Now I took Le all the way
-
up here.
-
That's country. NOW I TOOK LE ALL THE
-
WAY UP HERE. WHY IT'S TELLING ME TO TAKE
-
421? I don't
-
I put the directions in it.
-
>> I said I wanted his help.
-
>> But now when it shows me something
-
that's not familiar to me,
-
>> you said you want a good marriage.
-
NO, THAT'S WHAT YOU SAID. GOD, GIVE ME A
-
GOOD MAN, LORD. JUST FIX MY MARRIAGE,
-
LORD. F my marriage. And so when God
-
tells you
-
>> to to to to don't speak with with with
-
with don't don't your your words, you
-
got to watch your words,
-
>> a soft answer
-
>> turns away,
-
>> the GPS of the word. Then you start
-
talking sweet and you like this don't
-
feel right.
-
I'm not used to saying baby hunt to him
-
and he ain't cooked yet.
-
So God, LET ME SAY. SO YOU ASK ME, LORD,
-
TO TAKE THIS WAY.
-
>> But I ain't I'm not used to going this
-
way.
-
>> And if you're not careful, you'll desert
-
HIS DIRECTION TO GROW BACK TO WHAT'S
-
FAMILIAR.
-
>> Do you believe in God? AND THIS YEAR,
-
I'M STARTING NOW. I'M GOING TO TITHE.
-
I'm going to tithe. That's right. I'm
-
going to bring the tithe into the
-
storehouse. could be meat in my house.
-
That's right. And I do it the first
-
week.
-
>> And I go to try to go to Starbucks every
-
day like I'm used to.
-
And by Wednesday, I'm looking at like, I
-
can't get Starbucks. I might get that
-
dollar that dollar coffee from
-
McDonald's.
-
>> And it feels Come on.
-
>> Unfamiliar.
-
>> It doesn't feel like what I'm used to.
-
>> And so what'll happen is by February, I
-
will have abandoned the path,
-
>> the direction that God is calling me to
-
because it just don't feel
-
>> it's not familiar.
-
If you and I are going to get get to
-
where God wants us to be,
-
>> we going to have to let the GPS GPS of
-
his word
-
>> direct us.
-
Amen.
-
>> Because you're not used to this road.
-
>> Not in that area.
-
>> No, you're not. You You may be used to
-
following the word of God when it comes
-
to guarding your mind,
-
>> but you hadn't been used to following
-
his word when it comes to guarding your
-
mouth.
-
>> Yeah. And it feels different.
-
>> See, because because Oh, see the word
-
recalibrates us.
-
It renews our mind. Why? Because when
-
we're following God's word, a win
-
doesn't look the same as it used to.
-
>> You used to equate a win with with
-
having the last word.
-
>> Yeah. You You used THAT'S HOW YOU
-
EQUATED the win. Every time they say
-
something, YOU RIGHT ON top of it,
-
right?
-
>> Oh, YOU HAD TO COME BACK for everything.
-
and you felt like you won
-
>> because you had the last word.
-
>> NEVER MIND THAT THERE'S A DIFFERENCE
-
BETWEEN PEACE AND QUIET.
-
>> YEAH, YOU MAY HAVE GOTTEN THE LAST WORD,
-
BUT YOU HAVE JUST TORN UP YOUR
-
RELATIONSHIP.
-
>> Touch your neighbor and say, "I got to
-
follow."
-
>> I got to follow
-
>> the GPS of his word.
-
>> GPS of his word.
-
His
-
word gives us direction
-
and we have to have the GPS of his word
-
because understand something when
-
emotions are loud we need something that
-
speaks louder.
-
>> I can't tell you I'm I'm almost done. I
-
can't tell you how many times that I
-
chose to go the direction other than
-
what the GPS was telling me
-
only to find out sometimes Dominique
-
that there was an accident that it was
-
trying to take me around. And catch
-
this. Sometimes the GPS will show me
-
with the red in the road that there's an
-
accident there. But guess what?
-
Sometimes it won't. RIGHT.
-
>> SOMETIMES I JUST have to trust.
-
>> Thank you, Holy Ghost. WHAT IT SAID.
-
>> SOMETIMES GOD WILL TELL YOU WHY NOT TO
-
DATE THAT PERSON. BUT sometimes
-
>> there's no red in the road.
-
>> Oh, at least not yet that you can see.
-
You're not going to always
-
see why God's telling you
-
>> what he's telling you.
-
>> What did you tell me, doc, yesterday?
-
That sometimes obey. You're going to
-
have to obey without clarity.
-
>> Sometimes you're going to have to obey
-
without clarity. Sometimes God's going
-
to send that old mother cross your path
-
and she's going to say something to you.
-
AND CATCH THIS, SHE DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT
-
SHE SAID.
-
>> But you know,
-
>> and just because she can't explain
-
everything to you doesn't mean you
-
shouldn't obey.
-
>> I know. I know. I know.
-
>> We got to let him.
-
>> We got to let him. We have to
-
acknowledge who's in the driver's seat.
-
>> Then we have to trust the GPS of his
-
word. Thirdly, and finally, if we're
-
going to let him, if we're going to have
-
this ride, if we're going to let God
-
drive, we're going to have to be
-
released from the roadblocks of fear.
-
>> No, we're going to have to be released
-
from the road blocks of fear. Fear is
-
one of the biggest roadblocks to letting
-
God drive.
-
>> It stops progress.
-
Yes.
-
>> Fear paralyzes faith
-
and it keeps us from stepping into the
-
promise of God.
-
Can I tell you something? That fear is a
-
roadblock. It's not a warning sign.
-
>> Fear is a roadblock.
-
It's not a warning sign.
-
The Bible says, "God has not given us
-
>> the spirit of fear,
-
>> but of love and of power and a sound
-
mind."
-
No, fear fear is not of God.
-
>> God doesn't want to direct you by fear.
-
He wants to direct you by wisdom,
-
>> by instruction,
-
>> like even as a parent, I don't I don't
-
we we we can't parent out of fear.
-
I'mma beat you. I'mma tag behind her
-
now. You know that has its place.
-
>> I'm sorry, doctor.
-
>> No, that has its place.
-
But that can't be that can't be how
-
>> how we
-
instruct them
-
>> because after y'all seen Joshua lately
-
that JOKER ABOUT BIG AS I am
-
now. You know what I'm saying? I still
-
fold them now. Don't make
-
it. It's still a little old school down
-
here.
-
My mom said if I got grab a shoe or
-
something, I'mma let you know.
-
But fear that fear can't be
-
>> the thing that drives.
-
>> As it is with us, so it is with God.
-
>> God's not trying to drive us out of
-
fear.
-
>> Being afraid of going to hell is not
-
going to keep you living right for a
-
long time.
-
Fear's a fear is a roadblock, man.
-
>> It's not a warning sign.
-
>> God wants to instruct us by his word.
-
>> God wants to lead us by instruction.
-
>> He doesn't want us being fearful.
-
And that is what's keeping some of us
-
from moving forward.
-
>> That is what's keeping some of us from
-
letting God take the wheel
-
>> is fear.
-
>> Fear of what happened the last time.
-
Yeah,
-
>> that didn't go quite right the way I
-
thought it would. Didn't pan all the way
-
out.
-
>> And so now I'm more reluctant to trust
-
God. I'm I'm I'm less reluctant to trust
-
God. That's fear.
-
>> He has not given you that, baby.
-
>> Can I tell you God can be trusted?
-
>> Go on. Let me LET ME KNOW. LET ME TELL
-
GOD can be trusted.
-
>> He is the best driver
-
>> that I have ever seen in my life.
-
I was talking to Doc and Pastor Chris
-
yesterday and they said God is the real
-
designated driver
-
>> cuz you talking about being able to
-
drive at night.
-
>> He can drive at night.
-
>> When life gets dark, you get A BAD
-
DOCTOR'S REPORT. YOU WANT GOD BEHIND the
-
wheel.
-
>> He knows how to navigate the potholes.
-
>> He knows how to get you around the
-
situation that wants to block you.
-
Let me tell you something. I can
-
remember. See, fear is paralyzing. I'm
-
about to fear is paralyzing.
-
I am My God. I can just jump off this
-
stage and start running. I am two
-
semesters away from graduating with my
-
bachelor. Let me tell y'all something.
-
Let me tell you something. I No, don't
-
do that.
-
Don't do that.
-
>> Y'all talk about a party.
-
>> Hey, cuz they going to think I got my
-
doctor. They going to see some of They
-
GO, "DID HE GET A DOCTOR?" NO, HE GOT
-
HIS BACHELORS.
-
>> Let me tell you why. Because for so
-
long, God, I could cry.
-
I didn't realize that fear was
-
paralyzing me.
-
>> I didn't I didn't know I didn't realize
-
it. Q how fear was paralyzing me
-
>> that I went to North just just give me
-
these last five minutes. I went to North
-
Carolina ENT State University
-
>> Aggie Pride.
-
My mama working two jobs, dad doing all
-
these kind of things to send me to
-
school. And I go to school not really
-
knowing what I should do.
-
>> 17 years old,
-
>> brighteyed and bushy tail,
-
>> but hadn't stopped long enough and done
-
enough introspection
-
>> to know what it is that I should be
-
going after.
-
>> So I get there and consequently
-
I just, you know, I end up in computer
-
science major.
-
the tourist eyes. And I can remember
-
being in the engineering building at
-
McNair Hall
-
>> and because and in McNair Hall and being
-
lost as a ball in tall weeds.
-
I mean I was lost. You hear me? They
-
were talking ABOUT C++. I I DIDN'T KNOW
-
WHAT they were talking about.
-
Hey Jeff, I didn't know what they were
-
talking about,
-
man. They handed me a book. That book
-
was thicker than zoo glass. I didn't
-
know what
-
I didn't know what to do.
-
So I I found myself on academic
-
probation.
-
>> Yes, sir.
-
>> And I was back home in two years.
-
>> And I felt like a failure.
-
>> No, I felt I felt like a complete and
-
utter failure cuz my mom had done so
-
many things. My dad had done so many
-
things. Lord, they had a scholarship at
-
the church. If you grew up in the
-
Baptist church, they going to send you
-
off to school, right?
-
They going to give you that Bible.
-
>> And they going to pull together a
-
scholarship $250, $300.
-
>> Oh Lord. Yeah. They going to put THEY
-
GOING TO SEND YOU off
-
>> and I had to come back home
-
>> without a degree
-
>> in two years. Ended up working at a
-
factory.
-
Met the most amazing woman I have ever
-
met in my whole life.
-
standing in a laundromat.
-
>> She said, "You can go back to school." I
-
said, "Who?"
-
I said, "I can't go back to ENT."
-
>> She said, "No, you can go to Pit
-
Community College and you can graduate
-
with your associates. You can do this."
-
I can remember thinking, "Are you
-
serious?"
-
>> So, I went back to Pit and then she
-
said, "Now you can get your four-year
-
degree.
-
I graduated from Pit Community College
-
in 2003. I think it was 2003.
-
It took me almost almost 20 years to
-
apply for school again.
-
>> I did not know how fear was holding on
-
to me.
-
>> I didn't I didn't I didn't know how the
-
condemnation was holding on TO ME.
-
>> NO, I DIDN'T KNOW IT. IF YOU ASKED ME
-
WHY I HADN'T GONE BACK TO SCHOOL, I
-
don't know. I g I don't know what I
-
would have said.
-
>> I don't know.
-
>> But one day in prayer, God showed me
-
>> how condemnation
-
>> and fear
-
>> was holding me, doc.
-
>> And it wasn't until I I I I told God as
-
he brought it up to me and I sat with
-
him and he showed me probably doing
-
after one of your sessions
-
And I put it out there before God.
-
I asked God, help me to forgive myself.
-
>> No. Help. Help me to forgive myself. And
-
then God, help me
-
to get this fear off of me.
-
>> SCARED TO GO BACK GO BACK TO CLASS AND
-
GET BACK in school because of what
-
happened before.
-
And boy, I can remember
-
signing up for a class that I had
-
dropped.
-
>> And here I am face to face with it
-
again.
-
>> And I can remember getting to a CERTAIN
-
AND I I can remember just AS GOOD IN THE
-
SEMESTER WHEN I DROPPED THE class and
-
coming back to the same point.
-
>> And this time,
-
>> this time
-
I let him
-
This time I TOOK FEAR OUT OF THE
-
DRIVER'S SEAT. THIS TIME CONDEMNATION
-
HAD BEEN KICKED OUT.
-
>> Pass that class with an A.
-
>> Hallelujah.
-
>> What am I saying? That the same God.
-
>> This is the power OF CORNER CIRCLES. SO
-
YOU CAN HEAR SOMEBODY ELSE TESTIMONY AND
-
YOU'LL KNOW THAT THE SAME GOD,
-
>> if he'll do it for him, he'll do it FOR
-
ME. GO BACK TO SCHOOL, SIGN UP FOR THE
-
CLASS, GO BACK AND get the business.
-
>> Let him
-
>> This year, it's a new year.
-
>> Make sure it's a new driver.
-
>> It's a new year.
-
But don't let the same things drive you
-
that have been driving you.
-
>> It's a new year,
-
>> but let the word of God be your GPS.
-
>> It's a new year,
-
>> but you and I cannot let the roadblock
-
of fear
-
>> win. Catch this. I'm going say it like
-
my grandmama. Not in another time.
-
>> I don't know another way to say it.
-
Not another time.
-
God has called us to take territory
-
>> now. He has called us to take territory
-
>> and it is time for us to let him.
-
>> Let's pray.
-
Father, in Jesus name, we thank you for
-
your word.
-
We thank you Lord for how you are
-
challenging us, how you're positioning
-
us.
-
Thank you, Father.
-
Even for the difficult times where you
-
will bring things up to us, you don't
-
bring it up to us to make us feel bad or
-
to condemn us. You're bringing it up to
-
us to confront us that you have given us
-
the strength and what we need to
-
confront it and deal with it so that it
-
does not sabotage or steal from us
-
anymore.
-
Father, we our response is let's ride
-
It is our bold yes to your will and
-
promise.
-
Father God, it is our confidence in the
-
one that we have to have behind the
-
wheel.
-
But Father, we don't want to just
-
declare it and still be driving.
-
We don't want to declare that and still
-
allow fear or condemnation or pride to
-
be behind the wheel.
-
Father, we pause this first Sunday of
-
the year
-
to let you
-
to let you get behind the wheel, to let
-
your word be our GPS, to not allow fear
-
to be a roadblock to destiny.
-
Father, we thank you
-
that you'll give us what we need to do
-
what you called us to do. You're not
-
asking us to do it in our own strength.
-
Father, may we yield to you, to your
-
strength, to your will, to your way. And
-
for that we'll give you praise in Jesus
