  1. Come on, let's grab our Bibles as we get

  2. ready to go into the word of God today.

  3. And we're going to make our confession.

  4. Whether you have a paper Bible,

  5. electronic Bible, cell phone, tablet,

  6. whatever you have, you hold it up. If

  7. it's the Bible with the praying hands on

  8. it, just two hands, hold it up. There

  9. you go. Yeah. Come on. Say, "This is my

  10. Bible.

  11. >> It is God's word.

  12. >> It reveals to me.

  13. >> It reveals to me

  14. >> God's will.

  15. >> Therefore,

  16. >> therefore,

  17. >> it's the final authority.

  18. to which I submit

  19. >> which I submit

  20. >> to settle all the issues

  21. >> all the

  22. >> of my life

  23. >> of my conduct

  24. >> it's the standard

  25. >> the standard

  26. >> of my conduct

  27. >> of my

  28. >> and the basis

  29. >> of all my expectations all

  30. >> shout it out I am

  31. >> I am

  32. >> what it says I am

  33. >> it says

  34. >> I possess

  35. >> what it says I possess

  36. >> and I can do

  37. >> I am

  38. >> absolutely everything

  39. >> absolutely

  40. >> it says I can do

  41. >> it says

  42. >> I'm a believer

  43. >> not a doubter

  44. >> not a doubter I'm a doer.

  45. >> I'm a doer.

  46. >> Not just a hearer.

  47. >> And my life

  48. >> my everyday life

  49. >> My everyday life

  50. >> is the better.

  51. >> Is the better.

  52. >> After having heard

  53. >> the word of faith.

  54. >> Word of faith.

  55. >> Faith comes by hearing

  56. >> faith comes by

  57. >> and hearing

  58. >> and hearing by

  59. >> the word of God.

  60. >> Let's rise.

  61. >> You may be seated in the presence of the

  62. Lord.

  63. Amen.

  64. Go with me to First Corinthians chapter

    1 Corinthians 15 chapter mention

  65. 15.

  66. First Corinthians, we gonna make this

  67. switch. Yeah, boy. Nobody like the sound

  68. ministry. I love y'all. Yeah. First

    1 Corinthians 15 chapter mention

  69. Corinthians chapter 15.

  70. >> Verse 58.

  71. >> 1 Corinthians chapter 15 verse 58. Talk

    1 Corinthians 15:58

  72. Bible.

  73. >> Yes, sir. I I'm going to I want to read

  74. it out of the NIV, but but I just can't

  75. skip over in and without reading it in

  76. the King James first. Just something

  77. about

  78. >> reading it in the King James just

  79. quicken your spirit.

  80. It says, "Therefore, my beloved

  81. brethren,

  82. >> be ye steadfast,

  83. unmoved." Do you remember that used to

  84. tear the church up? You hardly get

  85. through unmovable FOR HEY, BE GONE IN.

  86. My God. Therefore, my beloved brethren,

  87. be ye steadfast,

  88. >> unmovable,

  89. always abounding in the work of the

  90. Lord. For as much as you know that your

  91. labor is not in vain

  92. >> in the Lord.

  93. >> Uh let's read it out of NIV for the new

  94. school in the house. It says,

  95. "Therefore, my dear brothers and

  96. sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move

  97. you.

  98. >> Always give yourselves fully to the work

  99. of the Lord because you know that your

  100. labor in the Lord is not in vain."

  101. I want to talk to us from the subject

  102. today that the vision needs a vehicle.

  103. >> That the vision

  104. >> needs a vehicle. Just tell your neighbor

  105. real quick. Say the vision.

  106. >> The vision

  107. >> needs a vehicle.

  108. >> Needs a vehicle.

  109. >> Turn to the other one. Say the vision.

  110. >> The vision

  111. >> needs a vehicle.

  112. >> Needs a vehicle.

  113. >> Yeah.

  114. >> What an absolutely amazing vision Sunday

  115. we had last week.

  116. I mean, absolutely amazing. From the

  117. beautiful vision builder, shout out to

  118. our creative team. Amen.

  119. >> To the presentation to all those who

  120. dressed up to make the experience what

  121. it was. And my apologies for not

  122. explaining while we were in suits

  123. because many thought we were the Blues

  124. Brothers.

  125. Thank God for Bishop on the senior call

  126. straightening it out for the seniors

  127. that it was the men in black. That's

  128. what we were going for.

  129. Last week we talked about our theme is

  130. kingdom identity.

  131. >> And we said that kingdom identity uh

  132. when we say that we are talking about

  133. the distinguishing traits that define

  134. our worth, our purpose and our

  135. belonging. And these things derive

  136. solely from our relationship with Jesus.

  137. >> Yeah. We are learning who we are in

  138. Jesus and who we are as a local church.

  139. Amen.

  140. >> We have heard the vision and we have

  141. also heard and can catch this. I need

  142. you to catch how we're saying it. We

  143. heard our kingdom assignments.

  144. >> We listed them in the vision builder as

  145. goals, but I need us to catch it. That

  146. we heard our kingdom assignment.

  147. >> Yeah. Our assignment is that we want to

  148. see more than 100 life group and

  149. disciplehip group leaders.

  150. >> Yeah. We want to see more than 500 first

  151. and second time guests.

  152. We will see more than 700 people give

  153. their lives to Jesus.

  154. >> And we will raise more than $600,000

  155. toward our outreach.

  156. >> Amen. That is our assignment.

  157. >> But I need you to hear the truth that we

  158. must face today.

  159. That a vision without a vehicle is only

  160. a daydream.

  161. >> A vision

  162. without a vehicle

  163. >> is only a daydream.

  164. It's not enough to simply hear the

  165. vision.

  166. >> We cannot just nod our heads at the idea

  167. that found people find people.

  168. >> Yeah. We cannot just agree in theory

  169. that God's people give. There must be a

  170. response.

  171. My first line, if y'all would give it to

  172. me, the vision is only brought to pass

  173. in the vehicle of my personal

  174. commitment.

  175. >> That's what that's what that's the

  176. bullseye for today.

  177. >> Is that the vision is only brought to

  178. pass in the vehicle of my personal

  179. commitment.

  180. >> Amen.

  181. >> Understand? When we say commitment,

  182. commitment is the individual taking up

  183. of your specific part of the vision to

  184. help it come to pass.

  185. >> Yeah. Yeah. A a commitment when we talk

  186. about the vehicle of commitment,

  187. commitment is the individual taking up

  188. your specific part.

  189. >> See, this is this is specific. This is

  190. not a generality. You and I cannot just

  191. clap last week and not commit this week.

  192. Amen.

  193. >> There is a part that you and I must take

  194. up specifically.

  195. >> That's why we have commitment cards

  196. because we want to be specific.

  197. >> Yeah. We we want to how much are we

  198. planning to give toward resurrection

  199. seed?

  200. >> We want to be specific.

  201. >> Who am I going to witness to in THE NEXT

  202. 30 DAYS? WE WANT TO be specific.

  203. >> Yeah. Because what commitment is is the

  204. spec is is when I specifically take up

  205. my part. I'm not going to have you touch

  206. your neighbor the whole time, but just

  207. at least bump it one time. Say, "You got

  208. a part to play."

  209. >> Yeah. Commitment is the individual

  210. taking up of your specific part of the

  211. vision to help it come to pass.

  212. >> Oh, this this this this this my

  213. definition right here. Give Give me my

  214. next definition. My third give me my

  215. third slide. My third slide.

  216. Uh-huh. Catch this. Commitment is the

  217. stubborn refusal to let your feelings

  218. dictate your faithfulness.

  219. >> Yeah, that's right.

  220. >> Commitment is the I refuse.

  221. >> See, STUBBORNNESS IS SOMETIMES LOOKED AT

  222. AS A NEGATIVE THING. But when IT COMES

  223. TO MY COMMITMENT, I NEED TO BE STUBBORN.

  224. >> OH, SEE, some people are stubborn about

  225. where they sit on Sunday. YOU WON'T EVEN

  226. SLIDE DOWN WHEN USHER ASK YOU TO SLIDE

  227. DOWN. I need you to have that kind OF

  228. STICK TUITIVENESS TO THE VISION, NOT TO

  229. A SEAT.

  230. >> YEAH. YEAH. WE NEED TO HAVE THAT KIND OF

  231. STUBBORNNESS

  232. THAT I DON'T CARE IF IT IS RAINING

  233. OUTSIDE,

  234. >> I'mma be on post.

  235. My commitment is the stubborn refusal to

  236. let my feelings

  237. let my dictate how fateful I'm going to

  238. be.

  239. >> See, it is deciding today. Oh, I love

  240. this. What you will do tomorrow,

  241. regardless of how you feel when tomorrow

  242. comes.

  243. >> It it is DECIDING TODAY. I make a

  244. decision today

  245. >> on what I will do tomorrow,

  246. >> regardless of how you feel when tomorrow

  247. comes.

  248. >> Oh, Jeff, I can't tell you how many

  249. times I remain committed to the gym

  250. >> until I got sore.

  251. >> NO, NO. SEE, BECAUSE IT IS IT IS

  252. necessary for us to to pause to make a

  253. commitment

  254. >> because again, it's not enough for us to

  255. just look at the vision builder. IT'S

  256. NOT ENOUGH FOR US TO JUST hear the

  257. vision. IT'S NOT ENOUGH FOR US TO CLAP

  258. FOR THE UNTO HIM OUTREACH CENTER. YOU

  259. AND I MUST make a commitment.

  260. >> Amen.

  261. >> Yeah.

  262. My commitment says that I'm not just a

  263. spectator, but I'm a participant.

  264. Now, I hear some OF YOU SAY, "NOW, WHY

  265. WHY DOES COMMITMENT MATTER? Why why why

  266. does commitment even matter?" We must

  267. first understand what commitment really

  268. looks like from the lens of scripture to

  269. see why it matters.

  270. >> Yeah. See, because in the day in which

  271. we live, our commitments only last as

  272. long as it's convenient.

  273. >> I remember SAYING, "I'M I'MMA START THIS

  274. YEAR. I'MMA EAT RIGHT." And I was

  275. committed until the pizza showed up.

  276. >> I was committed. I'm gonna start running

  277. just as sure. And then I was committed

  278. until I got up and saw it was 19°

  279. outside.

  280. You and I must be committed. And see, we

  281. have to look at what commitment is

  282. through the Bible. Turn with me to

  283. Psalms chapter 15 verse 4.

    Psalms 15:4

  284. Psalm 15:4

    Psalms 15:4

  285. speaks of biblical commitment. It speaks

  286. to persevering over challenges.

  287. >> Psalms 15.

  288. Yes, Lord. Talk Bible. Psalms 15 verse4

  289. is where we're going. But let me let me

  290. just read let me start at verse one

  291. because here uh David is describing what

  292. a righteous person looks like. It says,

  293. "Lord, who may abide in your tabernacle?

  294. Who may dwell in your holy hill? He who

  295. walks uprightly and works righteousness

  296. and speaks the truth in his heart. He

  297. who does not backbite, my God, with his

  298. tongue, nor does evil to his neighbor,

  299. nor does he take up a reproach against

  300. his friend." Verse four, in whose eyes a

  301. vow person is despised, but he honors

  302. those who fear the Lord. He who swears

  303. to his own hurt and does not change.

  304. >> THAT THAT THAT'S THAT'S WHAT THE BIBLE

  305. CALLS a commitment that I'M GOING TO

  306. STICK to what I said even if it hurts.

  307. >> I'm going to STICK TO WHAT I SAID even

  308. when it's not convenient.

  309. >> Yeah. See the the the Bible, this is the

  310. biblical standard of what it means to be

  311. committed. It means that when we say

  312. save people, serve, we serve even when

  313. we're tired.

  314. >> Yeah. If I serve on parking ministry,

  315. I'M NOT CHECKING THE WEATHER to see if

  316. I'm going to come today.

  317. >> When we say growing people change, it

  318. means that I commit to whatever the

  319. process is that's going to cause me to

  320. change and I don't quit when it gets

  321. challenging.

  322. Understand that commitment is not about

  323. the initial excitement of the start.

  324. >> Thank you, Lord. But it's about the

  325. integrity of the stay.

  326. >> Commitment is not about the initial

  327. excitement of the start, but it's about

  328. the integrity of the stay. We see it in

  329. marriage.

  330. >> Everybody can get anybody can get

  331. excited about the start of the wedding.

  332. >> Oh, and we should. IT'S A CELEBRATION.

  333. AND I get it. But but YOU AND I CANNOT

  334. JUST be excited about the start of the

  335. wedding. We must be interested in and

  336. committed to and invested in the stay of

  337. the marriage.

  338. >> Boy, the claps just faded. My god.

  339. Why? Why? Why making a commitment is

  340. necessary?

  341. Who do I need to make a a formal why?

  342. Why do I need to make a formal

  343. commitment? Can't I just go with the

  344. flow?

  345. Can I just do as I feel? Like, do I

  346. really have to make a commit? Do I

  347. really have to say how much I'm gonna

  348. give? Can I just Can I just, you know,

  349. see what it look like in April?

  350. There's two reasons why you could do

  351. that, but I want to give you two reasons

  352. why you shouldn't do that. Number one,

  353. the reason why you should make a

  354. commitment is is because commitment

  355. creates stability.

  356. >> Yeah. Commitment creates stability.

  357. James chapter 1 vers8, write it down. It

    James 1 chapter mention

  358. says that a double-minded man,

  359. >> is unstable in all of his ways. That

  360. when you and I don't make a commitment,

  361. we live in a state of double-mindedness.

  362. >> Amen.

  363. >> Yeah. I I I can remember Caleb uh

  364. putting up uh a a tent one time and uh I

  365. put the tent up, got all the stuff

  366. together, got it put up, and it took a

  367. little work. Now, you know, I'm I was a

  368. Boy Scout, but it took me a little work

  369. to put the tent up. And I was happy

  370. about putting the tent up. And I put it

  371. up and I went in the house.

  372. THEN I CAME BACK out

  373. and the tent was across the yard.

  374. CALEB, I DID EVERYTHING RIGHT, BUT THERE

  375. WAS SOMETHING IN THE BAG THAT WAS STILL

  376. JINGLING. AND I'M ADMIT TO YOU, I'M NOT

  377. ALWAYS THE ONE THAT'S GOING to read all

  378. the directions.

  379. See, I can admit that cuz there's too

  380. many of us in here.

  381. >> SO, THE BAG WAS JINGLING, CALEB.

  382. >> Cuz I put the tent up, but I didn't put

  383. any stakes down.

  384. >> THE TENT WAS UP. I COULD GO IN IT, BUT I

  385. DIDN'T PUT ANYTHING DOWN TO HOLD it when

  386. the winds blow.

  387. I DIDN'T PUT NOTHING DOWN TO HOLD IT

  388. WHEN I WOULDN'T FEEL LIKE GOING.

  389. >> I DIDN'T PUT ANYTHING DOWN TO HOLD IT

  390. WHEN SOMEBODY WOULD SAY SOMETHING TO ME

  391. SIDEWAYS AND I DIDN'T SHOW UP FOR THREE

  392. MORE MONTHS.

  393. >> MY COMMITMENT CREATES STABILITY. IT

  394. CAUSED ME TO PUT SOMETHING DOWN.

  395. >> I'm not I'm not I'm NOT GOING TO JUST

  396. SEE WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE IN APRIL. I'M

  397. GOING TO COMMIT IN JANUARY what I'm

  398. going to give in April.

  399. I'M GOING TO PUT SOMETHING DOWN THERE TO

  400. SAY I'M I'M NOT I'M I'M not just going

  401. to, you know, just come to church and

  402. get be the first one here, last one to

  403. leave. No, I'm going to sign up for a

  404. ministry.

  405. >> I'm going to put something down.

  406. >> So, why? Because commitment creates

  407. stability.

  408. >> All of us know people who don't commit

  409. to anything

  410. >> and you couldn't trust them with

  411. anything. Amen.

  412. >> See, because this, SEE, IF IT WAS JUST

  413. ONE AREA that it stayed in,

  414. >> then it would be one thing. BUT BUT A

  415. LACK OF COMMITMENT bleeds

  416. >> into other areas.

  417. >> NOT ONLY AM I NOT COMMITTED in the

  418. kingdom, BUT IF IT IT'LL BEGIN TO SHOW

  419. UP IN HOW I KEEP MY WORD AT WORK,

  420. >> it begin TO SHOW UP HOW I KEEP MY WORD

  421. TO MY FAMILY.

  422. >> I have to commit. K.

  423. >> Why? Because it creates stability.

  424. >> Yeah. Secondly, secondly, why why do I

  425. need to commit? I need to commit because

  426. God is committed to us.

  427. >> No, I I need I need to commit because

  428. God is committed to us. UNDERSTAND

  429. SOMETHING. OUR KINGDOM identity is

  430. derived solely from our relationship

  431. with Jesus.

  432. >> And that relationship is based on God's

  433. unwavering commitment to us.

  434. Write down Deuteronomy chapter 7:E9

  435. because it talks about how God is

  436. committed to keeping his covenant to a

  437. thousand generations.

  438. >> If God is committed to keeping his

  439. covenant to us,

  440. the Bible says in Ephesians 5 that we

  441. ought to be imitators of God. Yes.

  442. >> HOW CAN I BE? HOW CAN I SERVE A God who

  443. keeps his word to a thousand generations

  444. >> and I say that I'm following him

  445. >> but I have all these have commitments in

  446. my life or no commitments at all

  447. >> THAT NOBODY CAN DEPEND ON ME

  448. >> BUT I SAY I FOLLOW HIM

  449. >> WHO is faithful AND JUST. WE SHOUT about

  450. that. HE MAY NOT COME WHEN YOU WANT HIM,

  451. BUT HE'S ALWAYS,

  452. >> but we won't even sign up to serve for a

  453. ministry.

  454. >> Now, come on, y'all. Ain't nobody ain't

  455. nobody mad. Ain't no say ain't nobody

  456. mad but the devil.

  457. >> This is not throwing rocks. This is just

  458. a moment for us to look at ourselves and

  459. evaluate and say, "Hey, where am I in

  460. this thing?"

  461. You and I must commit to God. You and I

  462. must be committed to God.

  463. >> Understand something. If our identity

  464. comes from him and he is a God of

  465. commitment, then we cannot claim kingdom

  466. identity while living our lives with

  467. casual commitments.

  468. >> That's right.

  469. >> Because everybody matters to God. God,

  470. catch this. God has committed everything

  471. to us

  472. >> because everybody matters to God. He has

  473. committed everything to us to make sure

  474. that don't you know that we have been

  475. given the ministry

  476. >> of reconciliation

  477. >> THAT GOD LOVES EVERYBODY SO MUCH THAT HE

  478. IS COMMITTED TO US

  479. >> going to tell others about the love that

  480. he has.

  481. >> YOU AND I CANNOT AFFORD TO HAVE A CASUAL

  482. COMMITMENT BECAUSE ETERNITY hangs in the

  483. balance.

  484. Yes.

  485. >> You mean to tell me that I'm not going

  486. to come to church BECAUSE I GOT FAMILY

  487. COMING INTO TOWN.

  488. >> NOW, BISHOP ALWAYS THEY THEY KNOW YOU GO

  489. TO CHURCH.

  490. >> NOW, if y'all going to come to town, you

  491. just come at 1:00. I'LL MEET YOU AT

  492. CRACKER BARREL. But you know WHAT I DO.

  493. >> YOU KNOW MY COMMITMENTS.

  494. Here's

  495. here's my my other statement.

  496. I'll repeat this statement. The vision

  497. is only brought to pass in the vehicle

  498. of my personal commitment.

  499. So let's take a moment and look at what

  500. what are the things that challenge our

  501. commitment?

  502. What are some of the things that

  503. challenge our commitment? See, because

  504. we have to take a minute minute and go

  505. here because if commitments were easy,

  506. everybody would do them.

  507. No, no. We we we have to take a minute

  508. and look at this because you and I, we

  509. we know that as soon as you complete

  510. your commitment card,

  511. >> JU JUST AS SOON AS YOU MAKE YOUR VOW to

  512. what it is you say you going to do,

  513. resistance is going to come.

  514. >> Now, I hear some of you see that why I

  515. don't commit right there. See, cuz that

  516. bring all that kind of stuff. No.

  517. No, I I I I would rather make a

  518. commitment and fight through the

  519. resistance than spend MY WHOLE LIFE NOT

  520. BEING COMMITTED TO ANYTHING.

  521. >> And it bleeds and caused me to be a

  522. person that can't be depended on.

  523. >> Challenges. Let's take a moment and look

  524. at some of the challenges that that try

  525. to kill our commitment. My God.

  526. >> Yeah. Challenge number one is the

  527. challenge of distraction.

  528. >> Yeah. Distraction. See, understand

  529. something. This is the good thing.

  530. >> Yeah. See, distractions are not

  531. inherently bad. They often involve

  532. things that are good or appealing, but

  533. misalign with our priorities.

  534. >> See, understand something. I I'll say it

  535. again. I'll say it again. Distractions

  536. are not bad with in and of themselves,

  537. >> but they often involve things that are

  538. good or appealing, but they don't align

  539. with our priorities.

  540. >> So, you understand something? A

  541. three-piece Supreme from Bojangles

  542. >> with a Mountain Dew with light ice,

  543. barbecue, and hot sauce on the side.

  544. It's not inherently bad,

  545. >> but it it it's not good for me if my

  546. priority is to get my health together

  547. and to drop a few pounds.

  548. >> Yeah. See, sometimes it's not the sin

  549. that kills commitment.

  550. >> NO, SOMETIMES IT'S NOT THE SIN. NOW,

  551. THAT SIN CAN KILL COMMITMENT,

  552. >> but sometimes IN OUR LIVES, IT'S NOT THE

  553. SIN that kills commitment.

  554. Sometimes, Lord help me through here.

  555. Sometimes success.

  556. >> YES. THERE SOMETIMES IT'S SUCCESS. YOU

  557. GET THAT PROMOTION AND NOW NOW YOU CAN'T

  558. COME TO CHURCH at all on a Sunday.

  559. >> I hear some of y'all right now. See,

  560. people will pull up a a word when they

  561. trying to trying to, you know, defend

  562. what it is. Didn't bishop say we

  563. supposed to be dy placed

  564. >> and you should be duly placed.

  565. >> What this message is asking you to do is

  566. to make sure that your foot is still in

  567. the church realm as well as

  568. >> that's right.

  569. >> See, BECAUSE GOOD THINGS CAN CAUSE US TO

  570. LIFT OUR WEIGHT AND BEFORE WE KNOW IT,

  571. WE NO LONGER HAVE THE FOOT IN THE CHURCH

  572. ANYMORE.

  573. >> That's right. I UNDERSTAND THAT MOST OF

  574. MY WEIGHT MAY BE IN THE SECULAR IN WHAT

  575. I DO, BUT I STILL NEED TO HAVE SOME TO

  576. SOME SORT OF TOUCH POINT IN MY LOCAL

  577. CHURCH.

  578. >> DISTRACTIONS,

  579. >> DISTRACTIONS, the things that can pull

  580. us away. THAT WORD DISTRACT MEANS TO

  581. PULL US AWAY. Write down Luke 8:14.

    Luke 8:14

  582. Because Jesus warns us of the worries of

  583. life, the riches and the pleasures that

  584. will come to try to pull us away.

  585. When something distracts you, the word

  586. distract at its core means to pull your

  587. attention away from what it is you

  588. should be focusing on.

  589. >> It's the act of being pulled in multiple

  590. directions, which can lead to a loss of

  591. focus on what really matters.

  592. When I get distracted, I GET PULLED

  593. AWAY.

  594. >> I get I GET PULLED AWAY FROM MY

  595. COMMITMENT TO SERVE.

  596. >> I GET PULLED AWAY FROM MY COMMITMENT TO

  597. GIVE.

  598. >> I GET SO DISTRACTED WITH WHAT IS GOING

  599. ON THAT I LOOK UP AND I HAVEN'T INVITED

  600. ANYBODY TO CHURCH.

  601. >> I CAN GET SO DISTRACTED. BUT CATCH THIS.

  602. NOT BAD THINGS,

  603. >> good things,

  604. great things, PHENOMENAL THINGS, BUT YOU

  605. AND I MUST RUN A CHECK on the things in

  606. our lives

  607. >> to make sure that they're not

  608. distractions.

  609. >> Yeah. Commitment killer. Number one is

  610. distraction. Number two, the second

  611. commitment killer

  612. is the challenge of discouragement.

  613. >> These are hard things. Yeah.

  614. >> See, that's that's when you invite

  615. somebody to church and they reject it.

  616. >> You've been praying and getting up the

  617. courage and say, "You know what?

  618. I want to invite them this week." And

  619. you invite them and they almost come out

  620. the bag on you.

  621. And then if you're not careful what you

  622. say, you know what? See, that's right

  623. there. Right there. That's why I don't

  624. even talk to people right now. That's

  625. why I don't invite them. Right there.

  626. and you will allow discouragement

  627. >> to keep you from being committed

  628. >> because you ran up on a hard thing.

  629. >> Yeah. Some some of you have made THE

  630. COMMITMENT. YOU SAY, "YOU KNOW WHAT? I'M

  631. GOING I'M GOING TO GIVE THIS YEAR. It's

  632. been kind of shaky, but I'm I'm going to

  633. give. I'm going to give. I'm starting

  634. out. I'm tithing and I'm giving."

  635. >> Giving my offering. It ain't all like

  636. what I want it to be, but but but I'm

  637. giving something.

  638. >> PUT A LITTLE SOMETHING IN PASTOR'S

  639. OFFERING. I'M DOING IT.

  640. >> AND THEN AS SOON AS YOU START DOING IT,

  641. Here comes A LITTLE DISCOURAGEMENT. A

  642. HARD thing comes.

  643. >> That tire had been hadn't gone flat and

  644. in two years.

  645. >> IT'S BEEN BALD FOR FOR 18 MONTHS, BUT IT

  646. AIN'T GONE FLAT.

  647. AS SOON AS YOU MAKE YOUR COMMITMENT,

  648. >> the tire goes flat. And if YOU'RE AND I

  649. NOT CAREFUL, WE'LL ALLOW DISCOURAGEMENT

  650. TO CAUSE US TO BACK UP FROM OUR

  651. COMMITMENT.

  652. >> BUT I HEAR MY GRANDMAMA IN MY HEAD.

  653. BEFORE I TAKE DOWN, I'LL ADD MORE TO IT.

  654. >> WHY? Because discouragement comes TO TRY

  655. TO CAUSE US TO PULL BACK.

  656. >> YEAH. you you decided, I'M GOING TO

  657. SERVE in a ministry

  658. and then somebody SAYS SOMETHING TO YOU

  659. THAT that's just, you know, a little

  660. rough.

  661. You know, they make a correction. They

  662. don't say it hard, but they correct you

  663. cuz they're trying to help you

  664. >> and you take you take feedback in a

  665. negative way.

  666. >> Say, you know what? You know, that's why

  667. right right there. See, I'm giving God

  668. I'm coming here do my best. I'm doing my

  669. best. They don't even act like they want

  670. my best.

  671. Well, we want your best. We just want

  672. your best to be done the right way.

  673. >> Amen.

  674. >> I I want us to have Oh, let me just

  675. insert this. I want us to have a

  676. feedback culture.

  677. >> I want us to be the kind of culture that

  678. we appreciate feedback.

  679. >> No, because when we understand how much

  680. it took for that PERSON TO COME TO US

  681. AND give us that feedback,

  682. >> that wasn't easy. AMEN.

  683. >> NUMBER ONE, THEY CARE ABOUT YOU ENOUGH

  684. TO SAY SOMETHING TO YOU.

  685. >> NUMBER TWO, THEY WERE THEY HAD TO

  686. OVERCOME WHATEVER FEELINGS THEY had

  687. >> to come and say something to you. You

  688. should AT LEAST STEP BACK AND appreciate

  689. that they had enough G and had enough

  690. love for you to say something to you.

  691. >> I appreciate that one clap.

  692. >> Yeah. Yeah. You you so you and I cannot

  693. take criticism as a hard thing and get

  694. discouraged by it and then back up from

  695. our commitment.

  696. >> When you have a personal failure,

  697. YOU HAVE A PERSONAL FAILURE. YOU SAY,

  698. "YOU KNOW WHAT? I'M I'm I'mma be

  699. celibate this year cuz I've been, you

  700. know what I mean? I've been here, there,

  701. and everywhere, but I'mma hold that

  702. thing in the middle of the road and ask

  703. the Lord to help me."

  704. >> And you and and you had you done good

  705. for three months,

  706. >> right? Lord have mercy.

  707. >> And something happens.

  708. >> Can I tell you something? I I don't want

  709. it to happen.

  710. >> You didn't want it to happen. But if it

  711. happens, don't spend three months away

  712. from church.

  713. >> No. If it if it happens, COME COME BACK

  714. TO THE COME GET YOU SOME PRAYER. COME

  715. LAY DOWN. DO SOMETHING.

  716. BUT I BUT I'M NOT GOING TO ALLOW

  717. DISCOURAGEMENT to cause ME TO PULL BACK

  718. FROM MY COMMITMENT.

  719. >> If I did mess up, I'm not going to go on

  720. an escapade and then just the next THREE

  721. MONTHS I'M NOT GOING TO DO THAT.

  722. >> Oh Lord.

  723. >> NO. WHY? WHY? WHY? NO. BECAUSE THIS IS

  724. WHERE WE LIVE.

  725. >> This is where we live. BECAUSE THE MIGHT

  726. AS WELL SYNDROME gets you.

  727. >> You say, "Well, I done this.

  728. >> I might as well.

  729. That is DISCOURAGEMENT

  730. >> THAT IS TRYING TO CAUSE YOU TO BACK UP

  731. FROM YOUR COMMITMENT. NO, YOU DIDN'T DO

  732. IT THE RIGHT WAY OR NO, YOU DIDN'T DO IT

  733. THE WAY YOU HOPED FOR, THE WAY YOU

  734. WRITTEN IT DOWN ON YOUR VISION BOARD.

  735. BUT DON'T THROW IN THE TOWEL.

  736. >> The killer,

  737. >> the killer of commitment is distraction.

  738. It's discouragement. Catch this third

  739. one.

  740. is the drifting.

  741. >> This is the gradual things in our lives.

  742. >> Yeah. This this is the slow fade.

  743. >> Yeah. This is this is when I I I I miss

  744. a Sunday and my one miss of a Sunday

  745. turns into three.

  746. >> And my three turns into a month and a

  747. half.

  748. >> It's when I say I'm I'm I'm just sit I'm

  749. just this season of my life right now.

  750. It's so hard right now. You know, it's

  751. really hard. And I get it. There are

  752. seasons of your you go through seasons

  753. of life.

  754. >> Yeah. YEAH. YOU THIS THAT'S WHY WHENEVER

  755. YOU CAN serve and and be committed AND

  756. BE ALL IN, YOU NEED to do it

  757. >> because there will come a season OF YOUR

  758. LIFE WHERE YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO DO IT

  759. AS MUCH AS YOU DID IN A PREVIOUS SEASON.

  760. >> God knows I am teaching good.

  761. >> But but what WHAT HAPPENS IS YOU'LL PULL

  762. BACK SAY I'mma serve I'm not going to

  763. serve right here. Yeah, I'm going just

  764. take I'm going to take a month and a

  765. half off

  766. and a month and a half turns into six

  767. months

  768. >> turns into a year and a half

  769. >> and you look up and it's been three

  770. years since you served anywhere

  771. consistently in the house of God.

  772. >> It's the drifting.

  773. >> It's the GRADUAL THINGS IN OUR lives

  774. where where we we you know one morning

  775. we get up and we so busy and we don't

  776. pray.

  777. >> You're not going to hell if you don't

  778. pray one morning.

  779. But then that one morning turns into

  780. three mornings.

  781. >> And then I look up and I haven't spent

  782. any real quality intentional time with

  783. God.

  784. >> And and and I'm trying to figure out

  785. what's GOING ON AND WHY THINGS ARE NOT

  786. NOT going the way they should. It's been

  787. a dri it's a drifting.

  788. >> It's gradual.

  789. >> And see, this is where the enemy gets

  790. us. Yeah,

  791. >> I always tell you about the story. Uh I

  792. always tell you about the story of when

  793. I went to uh a great lodge with my kids

  794. and I'm not going to all these other

  795. kind of rides to LA and got too old. I

  796. don't do that. Not anything that's going

  797. to take my pressure up

  798. and I don't have blood pressure issues

  799. but I uh I ain't going way up there. No,

  800. the scripture said low. I'll be with

  801. you.

  802. talk Bible.

  803. SO, SO I SAID, "I'LL GO IN THE LAZY

  804. RIVER." AND I GOT MY TUBE AND I GOT IN

  805. THE LAZY RIVER AND BOY, it was so nice

  806. and they they playing a damn, you know.

  807. I said, "Y'all go ahead. Let me just let

  808. me just lay right here." And I closed my

  809. eyes and about 60 seconds later, I hear

  810. their voice faintly in the distance. And

  811. I looked up and what happened was we

  812. drifted apart. No intentional effort on

  813. my part.

  814. >> IT WAS JUST THAT I STOPPED DOING

  815. >> OR CONTROLLING OR HANDLING MY BUSINESS

  816. AND I LOOKED UP AND THERE WAS SPACE

  817. BETWEEN US.

  818. >> OH, I hear THE MARRIAGE RETREAT IN MY

  819. HEAD.

  820. THIS IS WHY YOU GOT TO HAVE INTENTIONAL

  821. TIME WITH YOUR SPOUSE

  822. >> BECAUSE BILLS AND CHILDREN AND THE

  823. BASKET OF CLOTHES CAN CAUSE YOU TO

  824. DRIFT.

  825. >> Shout somebody say it's gradual.

  826. >> It's gradual.

  827. >> But these are commitment killers.

  828. >> Distraction and discouragement and

  829. drifting. These things are commitment

  830. killers.

  831. >> God is good to me. Drifting is gradual.

  832. So, how do we keep the vehicle of our

  833. commitment on the road, navigating

  834. around the obstacles of distraction,

  835. discouragement, and drifting? I'm glad

  836. you asked. In our text,

  837. >> 1 Corinthians chapter 15, verse 58, it

    1 Corinthians 15:58

  838. says, "Therefore,

  839. >> my dear brothers and sisters, stand

  840. firm. Let nothing move you. Always give

  841. yourselves fully to the work of the Lord

  842. because you know that your labor in the

  843. Lord is not in vain. Understand that

  844. Paul writes that at the end of a long

  845. chapter about the resurrection. It's the

  846. Corinthian church that was facing major

  847. challenges with false teachers coming in

  848. and telling them that there wasn't no

  849. resurrection. AND SO THAT WAS CAUSING

  850. THEM TO WANT TO JUST GIVE up and JUST

  851. THROW IN THE TOWEL. THEY THEY WAS

  852. TALKING TO PAUL AND SAID, "WELL, WHY WE

  853. WHY ARE WE SACRIFICING?

  854. >> COME ON HERE.

  855. >> WHY WHY ARE WE DOING ALL THE THINGS YOU

  856. SAID WE NEED? WHY ARE WE COMMITTED

  857. >> TO THIS JESUS THAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT

  858. IF IF IF ALL THERE IS TO this life is

  859. all we see?

  860. >> If it really is yolo,

  861. >> that you only LIVE ONCE, THEN WHY WOULD

  862. I BE COMMITTED

  863. >> TO SERVING? WHY WOULD I BE COMMITTED TO

  864. INVITING SOMEBODY? WHY WOULD I BE

  865. COMMITTED TO SEWING MY RESURRECTION SEED

  866. IF I ONLY LIVE ONCE?

  867. >> And Paul grabbed the Corinthians and

  868. said, "Wait a minute. THERE'S MORE THAN

  869. JUST WHAT YOU SEE.

  870. >> There's coming a DAY

  871. >> THAT THE DEAD IN CHRIST SHALL RA BE

  872. raised from the dead.

  873. >> And we're going back to be with him."

  874. AND HE EXPLAINS THIS WHOLE THING SO

  875. BEAUTIFULLY IN 1 CORINTHIANS 15. AND

  876. THEN HE SAYS, "BECAUSE OF ALL OF THAT,

  877. THEREFORE,

  878. >> WHEREFORE, WHY? BECAUSE ALL WE SEE IS

  879. NOT ALL THERE IS.

  880. >> THEREFORE,

  881. >> JESUS IS COMING AGAIN. THEREFORE,

  882. >> THE DEAD IN CHRIST IS GOING TO BE

  883. RAISED. THEREFORE, WHAT I DO IN TIME

  884. MATTERS IN ETERNITY. THEREFORE,

  885. >> my beloved brothers and sisters,

  886. >> WHAT DO WE DO? HOW DO WE STAND AGAINST

  887. commitment killers?

  888. He said number one.

  889. >> Yes sir. He said stand firm.

  890. >> Talk Bible.

  891. >> He said stand firm. Be steadfast.

  892. >> SEE UNDERSTAND BEING STEADFAST THAT'S AN

  893. INWARD RESOLVE.

  894. >> That's right.

  895. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. When we TALK ABOUT

  896. STANDING FIRM, BEING ESTABLISHED, PAUL

  897. IS TALKING TO THEM ABOUT BEING SETTLED.

  898. >> SEE, if you and I are going TO BE

  899. COMMITTED, IT DOES NOT BEGIN ON THE

  900. OUTSIDE.

  901. NO, THAT MY MY COMMITMENT BEGINS ON THE

  902. INSIDE.

  903. >> YEAH. YEAH. IF YOU AND I ARE GOING,

  904. THAT'S WHY I HEARD SOMEBODY SAID THE

  905. OTHER WEEK, IF YOU'RE GOING TO COME OUT

  906. OF THAT SITUATION, YOU GOT TO COME OUT

  907. HEAD FIRST.

  908. >> WHY? BECAUSE THE CHANGE, MY RESOLVE

  909. BEGINS ON THE INSIDE.

  910. >> OH, I'M SO GLAD BECAUSE I DON'T NEED THE

  911. OUTSIDE TO MANIFEST CHANGE FIRST IF I

  912. CAN GET IT ON THE INSIDE. I WANT TO be

  913. settled

  914. >> in my commitment,

  915. >> MAKE MY RESULT. THIS WHY THAT'S WHY THE

  916. COMMITMENT CARD IS SO IMPORTANT BECAUSE

  917. YOU MAKE THE DECISION ON THE INSIDE.

  918. >> This is where I'M GOING TO BE SETTLED.

  919. >> HE SAID, "THIS IS HOW YOU FIGHT. THIS IS

  920. HOW YOU go against the commitment

  921. killers. First, you have to decide.

  922. >> You have to decide.

  923. >> You have to be settled in what it is

  924. that you're going to do. Don't be

  925. picking on NOBODY ELSE COMMITMENT CALL.

  926. YOU DECIDE.

  927. >> YEAH. LORD, you decide what you going to

  928. do. ASK THE HOLY SPIRIT, LORD, WHAT DO

  929. YOU WANT ME TO DO?

  930. >> WHO IS IT THAT YOU WANT me to talk to?

  931. >> And you settle that and you decide.

  932. >> That's an inward resolve.

  933. >> God, I

  934. >> Let me go here. When you This calls for

  935. a decision.

  936. >> The inward resolve. This settling calls

  937. for a decision. The word decision by

  938. definition, let's back into it. Homicide

  939. >> is the killing of someone else.

  940. >> Germicide is the killing of germs.

  941. Herbicide is the killing of plants. You

  942. got homicide.

  943. her homicide, germicide, and and

  944. herbicide. All of it requires killing.

  945. >> How can we get to the word decide

  946. >> and NOT THINK THAT SOMETHING DOESN'T

  947. HAVE TO DIE?

  948. >> SOMETHING HAS TO DIE.

  949. >> WHEN YOU AND I DECIDE, WE KILL THE

  950. THINGS AROUND THAT THREATEN OUR WHAT IT

  951. IS THAT WE THE CHOICE WE'RE MAKING.

  952. That's the word.

  953. >> When we decide, Jordan,

  954. >> it's not just that I choose to be

  955. faithful.

  956. >> I KILL THE OTHER OPTIONS THAT THREATEN

  957. MY FAITHFULNESS.

  958. >> Good God Almighty.

  959. >> THAT WHY I I HAVE TO SETTLE THIS. I GOT

  960. TO DECIDE.

  961. >> NOT JUST CHOOSE IT,

  962. >> BUT WHAT has to die?

  963. What has to die

  964. >> IF I'M GOING TO GIVE MY RESURRECTION

  965. SEAT? WHAT HAS TO DIE?

  966. >> IF I'M GOING TO INVITE THAT PERSON TO

  967. CHURCH, WHAT HAS TO DIE?

  968. >> IF I'M GOING TO SHARE MY FAITH, WHAT HAS

  969. TO DIE?

  970. >> I got to settle that.

  971. >> IF I KILL IT,

  972. >> GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY,

  973. >> that's half the battle.

  974. NO, I I I have to kill it.

  975. >> I HAVE TO GIVE UP SOMETHING.

  976. >> OH, THANK YOU, JESUS.

  977. >> NO, THAT'S WHAT COMMITMENT IS. I HAVE TO

  978. GIVE UP SOMETHING.

  979. >> ONE OF THE THINGS. OH, IN EVERY IN EVERY

  980. RELATIONSHIP. HERE I GO. Here we go.

  981. Right, Lord. My last two minutes.

  982. >> Every relationship.

  983. >> IT'S NOT JUST ABOUT THE CHOICE.

  984. >> IT'S ABOUT KILLING THE OTHER OPTIONS

  985. THAT THREATEN THE CHOICE.

  986. IT. WHAT? LET ME TELL Y'ALL SOMETHING.

  987. Y'ALL DATING SOMEBODY RIGHT NOW. LET ME

  988. TELL YOU ABOUT sister girl right here.

  989. 22 years July 24th of this year.

  990. >> Let me tell you something.

  991. I was bringing flowers and cards and

  992. talking all that kind of stuff. It was

  993. just coating. That's what old people

  994. call it.

  995. >> Going after what I want.

  996. Diane, the cards and the notes wasn't

  997. enough.

  998. >> What she wanted was a commitment.

  999. She wanted me to make a decision.

  1000. >> Not just a choice, but a decision.

1001. >> I know YOU BRINGING ME CARS, BUT BROTHER

1002. MAN, I WANT A DECISION. I NEED YOU TO

1003. SETTLE ON THE INSIDE THAT THIS IS WHAT

  1004. YOU WANT.

1005. >> OH, SEE LADIES. OH, GOD HELP ME. JESUS.

1006. >> SOME OF SOME LADIES, I LOVE YOU. COME

1007. ON. SINGLE NIGHT. WE TALK REAL STRAIGHT.

1008. YOU UNDERSTAND? BUT BUT BUT BUT YOU

1009. GIVING UP SOME STUFF BECAUSE THEY MADE A

1010. CHOICE BUT THEY DIDN'T MAKE A DECISION.

1011. >> YOU GIVING UP THE THINGS THAT YOU SHOULD

1012. HOLD ON TO BECAUSE THEY MADE A CHOICE.

1013. BUT I NEED YOU, BROTHER MAN, MAKE A

  1014. DECISION.

1015. >> I NEED YOU TO KILL SOME OTHER THINGS.

  1016. >> Good God almighty.

  1017. >> Lord have mercy.

  1018. >> I got to BE SETTLED.

  1019. HE SAID, "BE STEADFAST."

  1020. >> STEADFAST.

  1021. >> That's an inward decision.

  1022. >> I got to decide.

1023. >> He said, "Be steadfast."

1024. >> NUMBER TWO, MOTHER HALL, HE SAID, "BE

  1025. STEADFAST, but be unmovable."

1026. >> IF STEADFAST IS THE INWARD,

1027. >> then unmovable is the outward.

  1028. >> THAT THAT THAT'S THAT'S THE OUTWARD.

1029. THAT THAT ONCE I'VE SETTLED ON THE

  1030. INSIDE,

1031. >> I'm not going to allow anything

  1032. >> to move me.

1033. >> I'm not going to let what they post on

  1034. social media

1035. >> move me. I'M NOT GOING TO LET WHAT THEY

1036. SAID move me. I'M NOT GOING TO LET WHAT

  1037. THEY DIDN'T SAY.

1038. >> THEY DIDN'T TELL ME THANK YOU. I STOOD

1039. OUT THERE AND HANDED OUT 50 BOXES OF

1040. CHICKEN YESTERDAY AND THEY LOOK LIKE TO

1041. ME THAT THEY WOULD HAVE SAID I'M NOT

1042. GOING TO LET NONE OF IT.

1043. >> WOO! I'M NOT GOING TO LET NONE OF IT.

  1044. >> GOD SAW WHAT I DID.

1045. >> WOO! HE TAKE GOOD RECORDS.

1046. >> I'M NOT GOING TO LET ANY OF it

  1047. >> move me.

  1048. >> Unmovable.

1049. >> Unmovable. I'm not gonna even let my own

  1050. mind.

1051. >> Oh, I GOT TO SHUT DOWN THOSE THOUGHTS.

1052. >> THAT'S TELLING ME THAT IS IS IT WORTH

  1053. IT?

1054. >> I GOT TO SHUT THAT STUFF DOWN BECAUSE

1055. IT'S TRYING TO MOVE ME OFF MY

  1056. COMMITMENT.

  1057. >> MY FEELINGS

1058. >> WILL TRY TO MOVE ME

1059. >> OFF OF MY COMMITMENT.

  1060. >> FAMILY

1061. >> WHO DON'T UNDERSTAND YET WILL TRY TO

  1062. MOVE ME

  1063. >> OFF MY COMMITMENT.

  1064. CONVENIENCE,

  1065. >> good things

1066. >> will try to move me

1067. >> off my commitment. SEE, SEE, TURN DOWN

  1068. TUESDAY is this Tuesday.

1069. >> Uhhuh. Some of the saints were wondering

1070. if it was going TO START IN FEBRUARY.

  1071. NO.

  1072. >> Starts this Tuesday.

1073. >> And I can go on tell you, you going to

1074. have to you going to have to make an

  1075. inward resolve.

1076. >> Inward. Gotta be steadfast

  1077. >> because on Tuesday

  1078. >> sir,

1079. >> you gonna need to be unmovable

1080. >> because they hadn't brought you lunch

  1081. all year long

1082. >> and on Tuesdays just as sure as we

  1083. sitting here.

1084. >> E church, I hope you hear me. Just as

1085. sure as we sitting here.

1086. >> Somebody going to invite it's going to

1087. be the person that you least expect.

1088. >> And let me tell you what your flesh

1089. going to do. Your flesh going to say now

1090. you know you need to receive that seed

  1091. from them.

1092. You've been praying and asking God now

1093. you know you need to go to lunch. No

1094. >> say now you know what I appreciate that

  1095. catch me tomorrow.

1096. >> Catch me on Thursday. I got you. I so

  1097. appreciate you

1098. >> but I'm not going to let anything

1099. >> move me. He said be steadfast

  1100. >> unmovable.

1101. >> Catch this. Number three. He said always

  1102. abounding

1103. >> in the work of the Lord. Always ab that.

1104. What is he saying there? I'M NOT JUST

1105. going to do the minimum.

1106. >> Yeah. My my vehicle of commitment speaks

1107. to I'm not just going to do the minimum.

  1108. >> That's right.

1109. >> No, I'm going I'm going to do the the

1110. most that I can do in whatever season

  1111. I'm in.

  1112. >> That's right.

  1113. >> See, I saw a single mom a single mom. Oh

1114. my god. We had a a phenomenal

1115. listening tour and one of the members in

1116. one season was serving AND SHE WAS HERE,

1117. THERE, AND EVERYWHERE. AND NOW SHE'S in

1118. a season now where she got four little

  1119. children

1120. >> and she works like two jobs. And I mean

  1121. she's handling her business.

  1122. >> Yes, sir.

1123. >> And so in this season that she's in,

1124. >> she is she is doing uh as an eurch host.

1125. >> And she was about to feel bad about only

1126. being a east church host.

1127. >> See what what what I love ABOUT GOD IS

1128. GOD IS NOT JUST LOOKING AT JUST WHAT you

1129. do. He also sees the context in which

  1130. you're doing it.

1131. >> Oh God, just the the the woman that GAVE

1132. TWO MICS, IT WASN'T JUST THAT SHE JUST

1133. GAVE just two mics. IT WAS ALL SHE HAD.

1134. >> It wasn't just the amount. IT WAS ALL

1135. SHE HAD. THAT SINGLE MOM WITH FOUR

  1136. CHILDREN, SHE'S SHE'S HOSTING THE E

1137. CHURCH CHAT. SHE'S GIVING ALL SHE HAS.

  1138. RIGHT?

1139. >> SEE, SEE AS AS A MEMBER, WHAT WE GOT TO

1140. ASK IS WE DON'T WANT TO ASK THE

1141. QUESTION, WHAT'S THE least I can do and

1142. still be on the road.

1143. >> So that mean if I I just need to serve

1144. one time a year, so I'm going just go

1145. I'm going just do daff and then and then

1146. I'm going just do that. Then that way I

1147. can say I serve somewhere and they just

1148. get off my back. No, that's not

  1149. abounding.

1150. >> No. No. He said be steadfast, unmovable,

  1151. always abounding. Abounding. Abound.

1152. Doing the most. We do the most on social

1153. media. Can we do the most in the

1154. kingdom? Uh, WE DO THE MOST ON

  1155. INSTAGRAM,

1156. >> BUT BUT I WANT TO DO THE MOST FOR JESUS.

1157. >> I didn't get my picture up, but God

1158. knows this thing tore me up on this past

1159. week. One of the members said, "Pastor

1160. Trey, uh, my my my sister got saved."

1161. Catch this. She said, "My sister got

  1162. saved on Sunday

1163. >> and and on tag me Wednesday. She said

  1164. yesterday she fasted.

  1165. >> She fasted for 24 24 hours.

1166. >> Oh my god. Then she sends me a picture.

1167. >> And she sends the picture. Oh, she sends

1168. the picture. Oh, little no. I need I

1169. need to read this. Just give me one

1170. second. Yes, sir. I want to read this.

  1171. Oh, yeah.

1172. Just give me one second.

1173. Sit right there. Sit right there. She

1174. sends me a picture of a handwritten

  1175. sticky note.

1176. She says she's passing these out to

  1177. people this week.

1178. >> It says, "Found people, find people."

1179. >> She said, "I would like to extend an

1180. invitation for you to join me in church

1181. this Sunday. What he has done for me, he

1182. can do for you, and I'm still a work in

1183. progress. Let's worship together and

  1184. grow together.

1185. SHOUT. SHE DOING THE MOST.

1186. >> SHE NOT WAITING FOR US TO MAKE A CALL TO

1187. INVITE SOMEBODY. SHE GOT HER STICKY

  1188. NOTE. LORD HAVE MERCY.

  1189. >> ALWAYS ABOUNDING.

1190. >> YOU'RE NOT WAITING ON GOD. GOD IS

  1191. WAITING ON YOU.

  1192. >> That's right.

  1193. >> Yes, sir.

  1194. >> ALWAYS ABOUNDING.

  1195. >> ALWAYS.

  1196. >> WHAT CAN I DO? YES.

  1197. >> Who can I impact?

  1198. >> WHO CAN I TALK TO?

1199. >> He said, "Be steadfast,

  1200. >> unmovable,

  1201. >> always abounding

1202. >> in the work of the Lord." Catch this.

  1203. Fourth, and finally

  1204. >> because there's a promise.

  1205. >> There's a promise.

  1206. >> I'm not just setting a resolve for

  1207. nothing.

  1208. >> I'm not deciding for nothing. I'm not

1209. letting go of certain things. So it

  1210. doesn't threaten the choice that I'm

1211. making for nothing. I'm not standing and

1212. withstanding the outward things for

1213. nothing. I'm not doing the most for God

  1214. for nothing.

1215. >> He said, "For as much as you know

  1216. >> that your labor

1217. >> is not in vain in the Lord." Can I tell

  1218. you something?

1219. >> The seed that leaves your hand

1220. >> never ever leaves your life,

1221. >> but it enters into your future and it

1222. prepares for your arrival. It is not

1223. just the seeds of money, but it is the

1224. seed of my time and my talent and my

  1225. treasure.

  1226. >> That's right.

  1227. >> It's not in vain.

1228. >> You showing up early to make sure the

1229. HOUSE OF GOD IS IN order is not in vain.

1230. >> You serving on different ministries is

1231. not in vain. You standing out there in

1232. the parking lot making sure the cars get

1233. securely placed is not in vain.

  1234. >> You being a part of our children's

  1235. ministry.

  1236. >> That's right. It's not in vain.

  1237. >> Not in vain.

1238. >> You making sure the programs and we have

1239. all the literature and things that we

1240. need. It's not in vain.

1241. >> You on the social media team making sure

1242. that we're impacting and reaching and

1243. connecting other people. It's not in

  1244. vain.

1245. >> The intercessory prayer team that comes

1246. and prays every single solitary SUNDAY

1247. WITHOUT ANYBODY SEEING YOU. CAN I TELL

1248. YOU IT'S NOT IN VAIN.

1249. The person that God wants you to speak

1250. to and talk to, it's not in vain.

1251. >> Zone leaders, every phone call that you

1252. make, every hospital visit that you

1253. make, every funeral that you attend,

  1254. it's not in vain.

1255. >> He said, "Be steadfast,

  1256. >> unmovable,

  1257. always abounding

1258. >> in the work of the Lord. For as much as

  1259. you know,

1260. >> this is one thing you got to know.

  1261. >> Yes, sir.

1262. >> That my work, my effort, my labor, sir,

  1263. >> my commitment,

1264. >> is not in vain in the Lord.

1265. >> If you and I are going to bring to pass

1266. the vision that God has given us, it

1267. needs the vehicle of our personal

  1268. commitment.

  1269. >> Let's pray.

1270. Father, in Jesus name, we thank you for

1271. this opportunity that you've given us

1272. around your word. Father, we thank you

1273. for this moment because you've given us

1274. the vision. It's been written. It's been

1275. made plain and all of that has been done

1276. so that they that read it can run with

  1277. it.

1278. Father, we are the vehicles that move

  1279. the vision.

1280. So father on this commitment Sunday we

1281. take a moment to step back

1282. and ask you Holy Spirit to lead us and

1283. to guide us to direct us to speak to our

1284. hearts so that Lord as we make this

1285. commitment we don't do it casually we

  1286. don't do it haphazardly

1287. but father we do it as unto you

1288. we do it as as a response to your

  1289. goodness

1290. that as you are committed to us, Father.

1291. We want to be committed to you and we

1292. thank you for it now in Jesus name.
