Come on, grab your Bibles and let's get
-
ready to make our confession. Whether
-
that's a paper Bible,
-
phone, tablet, whatever you have, y'all.
-
I'm doing all I can to stay in this hat.
-
Do you hear me?
-
>> I'm going to do it as long as I can in
-
Jesus name. Come on, hold it up. Let's
-
make our confession. Let's say, "This is
-
my Bible.
-
>> This is my Bible.
-
>> It is God's word.
-
>> It reveals to me.
-
>> It reveals to me
-
>> God's will.
-
>> Therefore,
-
>> therefore,
-
>> it's the final authority. authority
-
>> to which I submit
-
>> to settle all the issues
-
>> settle all the issues
-
>> of my life
-
>> it is the standard
-
>> is the standard
-
>> of my conduct
-
>> of my
-
>> and the basis basis
-
>> of all my expectations
-
>> Come on shout it out I am
-
>> I am
-
>> what it says I am
-
>> I possess
-
>> what it says I possess
-
>> what it says I pos
-
>> and I can do
-
>> I can do
-
>> absolutely everything
-
>> it says I can do
-
>> I'm a believer
-
>> not a doubter
-
I'm a doer.
-
>> I'm a doer.
-
>> Not just a hearer.
-
>> And my life
-
>> my everyday life
-
>> My everyday life
-
>> is the better
-
>> is the better.
-
>> After having heard
-
>> after heard
-
>> the word of faith.
-
>> The word of faith.
-
>> Faith comes by hearing.
-
>> Faith comes by hearing
-
>> and hearing.
-
>> And hearing by
-
>> hearing
-
>> the word of God.
-
>> Word of God.
-
>> Let's ride.
-
>> Man, I'm so glad to see you in that
-
chain. I just know. I know there's too
-
many of us in here for me to be the only
-
one.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> Yes, sir.
-
All right. Yes, sir. God knows I love
-
the sound team. Jesus.
-
chapter 2. Mark chapter 2. Those who do
Mark 2 chapter mention
-
not know, we are on our 40-day corporate
-
fast. And this year, we are going to be
-
in the book of Mark the entire time. And
-
so, we are teaching every morning uh
-
from the book of Mark. Y'all, let me
-
pause for a second. Did Pastor Christie
-
not teach her face off these past two
-
days? Do you hear me?
-
>> God almighty knows.
-
Jesus, Lord have mercy. I called her. I
-
said, "Listen, I know what the book
-
said, but we might need one more day on
-
solitude."
-
>> My God.
-
And so, we are in the book of Mark and
-
uh it is incred. Buckle your seat belt
-
cuz Pastor Shandelle going to be
-
released this week.
-
And we are in the book of Mark. And so
-
today we are in the book. We're not
-
deviating from that. Mark chapter 2
Mark 2 chapter mention
-
beginning at verse one. Let me let me
-
read a couple verses. And it says,
-
"And again he entered Capernaum.
-
After some days and it was heard that he
-
was in the house. Immediately many
-
gathered together so that there was no
-
longer room to receive them, not even
-
near the door. And he preached the word
-
to them. Then they came to him bringing
-
a paralytic who was carried by four. And
-
when they could not come near him
-
because of the crowd, they uncovered the
-
roof where he was. So when they had
-
broken through, they let down the bed on
-
which the paralytic was lying.
-
Yeah. We want to talk from the subject
-
today, carry the corner.
-
>> Carry the corner. I'm not a touch your
-
neighbor kind of preacher, but I need
-
you to bump him this one time and bump
-
him and tell him say, "Carry the
-
corner."
-
>> Carry the corner.
-
>> As Pastor Sedette
-
said in the video, we live in the most
-
connected era in human history. Yet we
-
are starving for true relationships.
-
>> You can have a thousand friends online
-
and not have four people that you can
-
call when life gets hard.
-
>> Loneliness isn't just a social trend. It
-
is a spiritual weight crushing every
-
generation in America. We are physically
-
crowded but spiritually isolated.
-
hiding our match behind filters and
-
photos and busy calendars.
-
According to the latest data, I got my
-
own data. Pastor Sedette, let's ride
-
from the US surgeon general. In 2026,
-
the isolate this isolation is a national
-
emergency
-
>> among teens. 79% of Gen Z report feeling
-
chronically lonely. the highest rate
-
ever recorded.
-
For those in their 20s and 30s, 70% of
-
of these adults feel lonely even in a
-
crowd,
-
paralyzed by the high pressure of
-
transitions, of career, of identity, and
-
starting families. Middle-aged adults
-
over 45 suffer from persistent
-
loneliness that affects their physical
-
health.
-
And one in four adults over the age of
-
65 are socially isolated.
-
A health risk, I mind you, that the
-
surgeon general equates to smoking 15
-
cigarettes per day.
-
>> Catch this. That that level of
-
loneliness impacts our seniors
-
physically as if they were smoking 15
-
cigarettes a day.
-
You and I must understand that this
-
isolation isn't just a social trend.
-
It's a spiritual battleground.
-
>> The enemy wants you isolated because a
-
lone sheep is an easy target.
-
>> My God.
-
>> In our text in Mark chapter 2, Jesus had
Mark 2 chapter mention
-
just finished grally uh journeying
-
through Galilee, healing lepers and
-
confronting demons. As pastor Christie
-
taught on yesterday, Jesus was trending.
-
Everybody was talking about this healer.
-
And when chapter 2 opens up with his
-
return to Capernaum where he was living
-
now, Capernaum was not a quiet village.
-
It was a hightraic fishing hub known as
-
Jesus's headquarters. This is where
-
Jesus actually lived for a period of
-
time. It was a melting pot of Roman
-
soldiers, wealthy merchants, and tired
-
laborers. Actually, the perfect place
-
for a miracle to disrupt the status quo.
-
In first century Capernaum, the house
-
was the center of life with flat roofs
-
made by timber and packed down with
-
earth. As Jesus stood in this crowded
-
home, the house was not just filled with
-
expecting people, but also the cold
-
scrutiny of religious leaders who had
-
come to see if this healer was really
-
who he said he was.
-
>> Yeah. But Jesus did not come to perform
-
for the religious crowd
-
>> or to debate the critics. He came to
-
meet the desperate need of individuals.
-
They understood that when you are stuck
-
in a state of total dependence, you your
-
breakthrough is not a solo mission.
-
>> When you are stuck in a state of
-
stagnate, you need to understand that
-
your breakthrough is not a solo mission.
-
>> There are some things that you can do by
-
yourself. But beloved, let me tell you,
-
there are other things that you going to
-
need some help.
-
>> Amen.
-
Ah this was not just the these guys were
-
not just being helpful though this was a
-
strategic heavy lifting kind of love.
-
>> This brings us to the heartbeat of our
-
message today. The call for all of us to
-
carry the corner.
-
>> When we talk about carrying the corner
-
we are not just talking about being nice
-
>> or being friendly.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> No. When we talk about carrying the
-
corner, we said carrying the corner
-
means, catch this, teaming up with the
-
others, with others for a season to help
-
lift someone's burden to Jesus,
-
supporting them long enough for them to
-
find healing and carry their own
-
testimony.
-
>> Boy, that is good. God almighty. Carry
-
the corner means teaming up with others.
-
YOU'RE NOT CARRYING it by yourself.
-
>> This is teaming up with other people.
-
THIS IS PARTLY WHY SOME OF YOU ARE WORN
-
OUT IS BECAUSE YOU'RE carrying people.
-
>> And God designed you to carry a corner.
-
>> Oh Lord.
-
>> Means teaming up with others for for a
-
what?
-
>> For what?
-
>> FOR WHAT?
-
>> NOT A LIFETIME.
-
>> HE'S 35.
-
HE OUGHT TO BE PAYING HIS OWN PHONE
-
BILL.
-
>> She 42.
-
>> SHE SHOULD PAY HER OWN LIGHT BILL.
-
>> YOU CARRY FOR HOW LONG?
-
>> Your neighbor didn't want to say it, but
-
it's for a season.
-
>> FOR A SEASON. CATCH THIS. TO help lift
-
someone's burdens. Where?
-
>> To Jesus.
-
>> I'm not carrying it just TO CARRY IT. MY
-
CARRYING IT HAS a destination.
-
HE SAID SOMEONE BURDENED TO to to
-
someone's burden. Carrying that burden
-
to Jesus. Wait a minute now. I'm not
-
getting ready to have another blooper
-
this week.
-
It says it says means teaming up with
-
others for a season to help lift
-
someone's burden to Jesus. Catch this.
-
Supporting them
-
just long enough
-
>> for them to do what? find healing and do
-
what?
-
>> Carry their own testimony. Boy, that is
-
good to me.
-
>> Understand something. It is the
-
recognition that while one person might
-
buckle under the weight of the mat, four
-
people can march that mat straight to
-
the feet of Jesus.
-
>> God, which leads me right into our first
-
point. Point number one is that
-
cooperative faith got him moving.
-
Cooperative faith got what kind of
-
faith?
-
>> Cooperative faith is what got him
-
moving. There it is in verse three. It
-
says, "Then they came to him
-
>> bringing a paralytic who was carried by
-
four." Understand something in the time
-
of our text. Yes, Lord. Paralysis meant
-
total dependency. Amen.
-
>> Unfortunately, there were no
-
wheelchairs.
-
>> No special accommodations to aid those
-
who were physically challenged.
-
>> Their challenges were visible.
-
>> You could see a person's paralysis by
-
the mat that he or she carried.
-
>> Yeah. Understand something. We too have
-
those who face physical paralysis in our
-
day. And thank God there are
-
accommodations in place to help them
-
navigate those physical challenges.
-
>> However,
-
today I am concerned not for those right
-
now with physical challenges. I am
-
concerned for those of us who are
-
dealing with an unseen paralysis
-
>> that often goes undetected.
-
Ah, you might be walking through the
-
grocery store, sitting in the sanctuary
-
or clocking in every day at work, but
-
internally
-
>> you are on the mat.
-
>> Ah, yeah. Because life has knocked the
-
wind out of your soul.
-
>> Yeah. You have the mobility to move, but
-
you lack the momentum to live.
-
>> Why? Because life has knocked the wind
-
out of your soul. You can be on the mat
-
of depression and grief where you have
-
the legs to walk but not the will to
-
move
-
>> because OF A HEALTH CHALLENGE OR BECAUSE
-
OF THE LOSS of a loved one. It can knock
-
you down on the mat.
-
>> Ah there's a mat of relational betrayal.
-
>> Yeah. Because I know some of you ARE
-
LISTENING TO ME now listening to me now
-
and you have already shut your Bible.
-
you have already closed your mind off
-
because you HAVE HAD A PAST WHERE
-
SOMEBODY'S BETRAYED YOU AND ANYTIME you
-
hear TALK OF TALKING ABOUT CONNECTING
-
WITH OTHERS and sharing you immediately
-
shut it down.
-
>> But you have to understand that that
-
that that is a mat.
-
>> Relational betrayal is a mat where the
-
person who was supposed to CARRY YOUR
-
CORNER IS THE one who dropped you.
-
Let me tell you something. You need a
-
circle to prove that Matt Carriers still
-
exist.
-
>> I DON'T NEED YOU. I CAN'T. NOW, YOU
-
CANNOT BELIEVE THE LIE OF THE ENEMY INTO
-
THINKING THAT EVERYBODY'S GOING TO DROP
-
YOU. YES, SOME PEOPLE MAY HAVE DROPPED
-
YOU. WE ARE HUMAN. BUT LET ME TELL YOU
-
SOMETHING. EVERYBODY WON'T DROP YOU. The
-
devil is A LIAR. EVERYBODY WON'T DROP
-
YOU. EVERYBODY WON'T DROP YOU. EVERYBODY
-
WON'T DROP YOU.
-
>> I'M TRYING TO SLAY THAT DEVIL. EVERYBODY
-
WON'T DROP YOU.
-
>> AND YOU AND I CANNOT USE THAT AS a
-
license to stay in isolation.
-
>> There's the matter of depression and
-
grief. There's the mat of relational
-
betrayal. But there's also the mat of
-
secret struggle.
-
>> Talk, Holy Ghost.
-
This is where shame and addiction makes
-
you hide.
-
>> This is perhaps the heaviest mat because
-
it's the one we try to hide under nice
-
clothes
-
and smooth cars.
-
>> Yeah. Whether it's a secret addict
-
addiction like a struggle with
-
pornography
-
>> or a secret issue like a mountain of
-
debt, if you allow it, shame will
-
paralyze your soul.
-
>> Woo.
-
It will tell you that if you reveal your
-
mat that people will stop walking with
-
you.
-
>> But I want to say it in consecutive
-
weeks. Every week I stand on this stage
-
and God gives me breath. I want to say
-
it. IT'S TOO MANY OF US IN here
-
>> for you to be the only one.
-
They may not BE ABLE TO SEE YOUR MAT,
-
BUT IF SOMEBODY ELSE HIDING THAT MAT UP
-
UNDER THE CLOTHES,
-
>> SOMEBODY ELSE
-
>> TOOK THEIR MAT IN the boot. That's
-
country for the trunk.
-
>> But it's too many of us in HERE. I DON'T
-
CARE WHAT KIND OF MAT YOU CARRYING.
-
>> I DON'T CARE IF IT'S THE STRAIN OF A
-
MARITAL RELATIONSHIP. THERE'S TOO MANY
-
OF US IN here
-
>> for you to be the only one. AND WHAT
-
HAPPENS IS THE DEVIL LIKES TO SILENCE
-
US.
-
>> The Bible CALLS HIM THE PRINCE OF
-
DARKNESS.
-
>> And whatever we keep in darkness, he has
-
dominion over. But if YOU EVER GET BOLD
-
ENOUGH TO OPEN UP YOUR MOUTH AND LET
-
SOMEBODY KNOW WHAT KIND OF MAT YOU ARE
-
CARRYING,
-
THE BIBLE SAYS IF WE WALK IN THE LIGHT
-
>> AS HE IS IN THE LIGHT, THEN WE HAVE
-
FELLOWSHIP WITH ONE OF YOU AND I DON'T
-
HAVE FELLOWSHIP AND WE hiding
-
>> talk Holy Ghost.
-
>> YOU CAN COME IN HERE SUNDAY AFTER SUNDAY
-
AND NEVER CONNECT WITH ANYBODY AND YOU
-
ARE NOT HAVING FELLOWSHIP. NO MATTER HOW
-
MANY TIMES I TELL YOU, TALK TO YOUR
-
NEIGHBOR.
-
>> YOU AND I DO NOT HAVE FELLOWSHIP UNTIL
-
WE come into the light.
-
>> Now, I'm not going to act like that's
-
not scary,
-
>> because it is.
-
>> It's scary, but it's necessary.
-
>> Because there's too many of us dying in
-
isolation.
-
>> I'm not talking about physically right
-
now. I'm talking about emotionally.
-
>> I'M TALKING ABOUT MENTALLY. I'M TALKING
-
ABOUT SPIRITUALLY.
-
>> You are coming TO CHURCH AND YOU LIFTING
-
YOUR HANDS, BUT YOU DEAD ON THE INSIDE
-
BECAUSE YOU CARRYING A MAT AND YOU ARE
-
CARRIED IT BY YOURSELF.
-
>> Talk Holy Ghost.
-
>> You and I, can I tell you something? You
-
and I were not made
-
>> to do life alone.
-
>> Cuz life be
-
>> lifing.
-
Oh,
-
>> what? Life? No. Life be lifing.
-
>> No. Like life be life be liing.
-
>> Like life life.
-
Life be what?
-
>> Life be what?
-
Life be lifing
-
>> with health challenges
-
>> and bills
-
and and and
-
children
-
life be lifing
-
AND UNDERSTAND SOMETHING MANY OF US ARE
-
IN THIS BY OURSELVES.
-
IT'S IT'S NOT THAT YOU DON'T HAVE PEOPLE
-
YOU CAN CALL ON BECAUSE YOU HAVE PEOPLE
-
IN YOUR LIFE WHO SAID IF YOU NEED me
-
>> call me.
-
>> BUT YOU AND I HAVE ALLOWED PRIDE
-
>> TO MAKE US THINK THAT WE CAN HANDLE LIFE
-
ON OUR OWN.
-
>> BUT WHAT GOD HAS CALLED US TO do is to
-
do this life inside of a group. See,
-
hold this is what you need.
-
Yeah. Thank you, Holy Ghost.
-
You need to establish
-
relationships.
-
>> Catch this. Before you need them.
-
>> That's right.
-
>> YOU CAN'T CALL ME IN THE MIDDLE OF ME
-
MID TUG AND WE AIN'T NEVER HAD A
-
CONVERSATION. YOU WANT ME TO GET IN HERE
-
WITH THIS ROPE? I DON'T KNOW YOU.
-
WE GOT CIRCLES AFTER CIRCLES AFTER
-
CIRCLES AFTER CIRCLES FOR WOMEN, SINGLE,
-
MEN, AND MARRIED. YOU WON'T COME TO ANY
-
OF THEM.
-
>> AND THEN MAD BECAUSE YOU GOT THE ROPE BY
-
YOURSELF.
-
>> We have to establish relationships
-
before we need them.
-
>> Catch this. This is why
-
>> so that when you call on help, you don't
-
have to give a whole dissitation.
-
WHEN I GET IN TROUBLE, all I need to
-
say,
-
I NEED SOME HELP,
-
>> Y'ALL. I NEED SOME HELP. I need some
-
help. I need SOME HELP. HEY. YES, SIR.
-
OH, LISTEN TO ME.
-
>> LIFE IS NOT TOO HARD. YOU JUST DOING IT
-
BY YOURSELF.
-
>> THE DEVIL AIN'T THAT TOUGH. YOU JUST
-
DOING IT BY YOURSELF.
-
>> THAT PROBLEM IS NOT INSURMOUNTABLE. YOU
-
JUST TRYING TO DO IT BY YOURSELF.
-
YOU CAN OVERCOME THAT LUST, BUT YOU'RE
-
NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO DO IT BY
-
YOURSELF.
-
>> You got to call somebody.
-
Thank you, Lord. Understand something.
-
Your miracle is often found in the hands
-
of the people holding your rope.
-
>> Your miracle, YOU STANDING THERE WAITING
-
ON GOD.
-
>> And God said, "I've already answered
-
your prayers.
-
>> I sent it through people.
-
>> God has always answered through people.
-
It said good measure
-
>> pressed down
-
>> shaken together and running over
-
>> that man talk Pastor Shandelle that man
-
SHALL GIVE UNTO YOUR BOSOM.
-
>> STOP STANDING OUTSIDE WITH YOUR POCKETS
-
OPEN LIKE GOD THROWING MONEY OUT OF
-
HEAVEN. HE'S NOT THROWING MONEY OUT OF
-
HEAVEN. IT'S GOING TO COME THROUGH
-
PEOPLE.
-
Understand
-
something. It was corporate faith
-
that got him moving.
-
>> IT WAS IT WAS THE FAITH OF OTHER PEOPLE
-
COMING TOGETHER THAT GOT HIM MOVING.
-
>> Oh my God.
-
You have to realize that God often wraps
-
his answers in the people he places
-
around you.
-
This is why you can't be This is why you
-
can't be the last one here and the first
-
one to leave.
-
>> This This is This is why you This is why
-
you need to serve somewhere in ministry.
-
>> This is why you need to don't make
-
excuses, but make plans to pull up on
-
your Wednesday night of Cornelia
-
circles.
-
>> Oh, God. See, because what happens is
-
you make no connections cuz the sun is
-
shining.
-
>> You make no You don't know. I don't know
-
about them circles, right? Sit in a
-
circle and talk.
-
I don't think I feel like I don't feel
-
like sitting on circle and talk.
-
And that's cool until life hands you
-
something
-
>> that you can't solve by yourself.
-
>> Until life hands you something OR
-
RELATIONSHIP GOES DOWN. AND SEE WHAT
-
HAPPENS IS OFTENTIMES in those circles,
-
God uses other people to help us.
-
>> I'm a witness. I already know what I'm
-
talking about. Yeah. GOD WILL YOU GOD
-
WILL SPEAK JUST AS GOOD through other
-
people.
-
>> He'll help you to REALIZE YOU THOUGHT
-
YOU WERE THE ONLY ONE that went through
-
that.
-
>> You thought you were the only one going
-
through that. And God will sit you in a
-
group of people where somebody THAT WENT
-
THROUGH THE SAME THING you went through.
-
DIFFERENT NAME, DIFFERENT AMOUNT OF
-
MONEY, same situation.
-
>> My God.
-
>> It was corporate faith
-
>> that got them moving. They grabbed a
-
corner
-
and the It wasn't the paralyzed man
-
faith at this point.
-
>> It was their faith.
-
>> It was the faith of the group.
-
>> And so, thank you, Pastor Shandelle. Let
-
me just say this. The four friends were
-
only able to move the man because they
-
could find the man.
-
>> I love Pastor Shandelle. Yeah. The the
-
the four friends were able to move the
-
man because they were able to find the
-
man. We often harbor resentment toward
-
our community for not CARRYING OUR MAT,
-
BUT we've been buried
-
so deep in privacy.
-
>> I know it just sit there. I'm going to
-
BE DONE WHEN I get through. WE HAVE
-
BURIED OUR MAT SO DEEP IN PRIVACY AND
-
WE'RE MAD THAT NOBODY'S CALLING AND
-
NOBODY'S REACHING OUT.
-
>> GOD,
-
>> YOU'VE BEEN PLAYING HIDE AND GO SEEK AND
-
YOU MAD CUZ NOBODY HAS FOUND YOU.
-
>> But they a they WERE ABLE TO CARRY HIM
-
BECAUSE THEY COULD FIND HIM.
-
>> My God. It was corporate faith that got
-
him going.
-
>> It was corporate faith that got him
-
going. Number two, it was relentless
-
faith that got him to Jesus.
-
>> Come on, Bible. It was relentless faith
-
that got him to corporate faith got him
-
moving,
-
>> but it was relentless faith that got him
-
to Jesus.
-
>> Yeah. Talk Bible. Verse four, it says,
-
"When they could not come near him
-
because of the crowd, they uncovered the
-
roof where he was." Let me just stop
-
right there. Oh, these notes ain't going
-
to help me right now. Hold. Listen. They
-
unc They They weren't moved by the
-
crowd.
-
>> They didn't let the crowd stop them.
-
>> Catch this. They they didn't
-
spiritualize inconvenience.
-
>> THEY DIDN'T SPIRITUAL THEY DIDN'T GET
-
the man there.
-
They They didn't get the man there.
-
Just let me carry the cop by myself for
-
a little bit. They didn't carry the cop
-
up there and they say, "Lord, they too
-
many people.
-
Jesus, what are they DOING GIVING AWAY
-
FOOD? WHAT
-
It must not be God's will today.
-
>> They coming up and bringing him to
-
Jesus. It's raining outside.
-
It must not be I know I'm talking good
-
today.
-
>> It must not be the will of God today.
-
Hey, must must I'm going to go back and
-
online.
-
>> They didn't spiritualize
-
>> in. It was a resilient faith.
-
>> See, corporate faith will get you
-
moving.
-
>> But it takes resilient faith to get to
-
Jesus.
-
>> LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING. YOU'RE NOT
-
GOING TO GET YOU DO NOT be
-
taken back
-
when the enemy puts things in your in
-
your path on your way to Jesus.
-
There are some people that you are
-
believing God for and WHEN YOU START
-
PRAYING FOR THEM AND YOU PUT THEIR NAME
-
on the board, IT LOOKS LIKE THEY GET
-
WORSE.
-
>> BUT THAT'S NOT THE TIME FOR US TO GIVE
-
UP.
-
>> THAT'S NOT THE TIME FOR US TO PUNK OUT.
-
WE MUST HAVE RESILIENT FAITH.
-
>> I WILL NOT ALLOW ANY CROWD TO KEEP ME
-
FROM GETTING TO JESUS.
-
They had a relentless kind of faith.
-
They were resilient.
-
>> They they Scott they they were they were
-
resil. Thank you, Lord. God said
-
their their their relentless faith
-
had to do with their conviction about
-
what Jesus could do.
-
>> THEY WERE THIS WAS NOT this was not some
-
casual kind of, oh, I think he can heal
-
him.
-
They had a conviction
-
>> that Jesus is who he said HE WAS.
-
>> THEY HAD A CONVICTION THAT IF I COULD
-
JUST GET HIM TO JESUS. SEE, THAT'S WHAT
-
THAT'S what I believe. We wouldn't be so
-
easily pursu dissuaded
-
>> if we had a strong conviction.
-
>> WE WOULDN'T LET THE CROWD STOP US
-
>> IF WE HAD A REAL CONVICTION. WE WOULDN'T
-
LET INCONVENIENCE HINDER us if we HAD A
-
REAL CONVICTION.
-
>> WHEN I BELIEVE DOWN AND I KNOW DOWN IN
-
MY SOUL THAT JESUS IS ABLE TO HEAL YOU,
-
I DON'T CARE WHAT HAPPENED.
-
>> I hear you, PASTOR TRACY. I DON'T CARE
-
WHAT THEY SAY.
-
>> I'M NOT GOING TO GIVE UP ON THE FIRST NO
-
THEY GIVE ME
-
>> BECAUSE I KNOW DOWN IN MY SOUL THAT
-
JESUS IS THE ANSWER FOR WHATEVER THEY'RE
-
FACING.
-
OH, I HEAR YOU. YEAH, YOU TELL ME NO
-
TODAY, BUT I'LL BE BACK.
-
>> OH,
-
I wish I had some women in here who used
-
TO GO TO THE CLUB, AND THAT ONE
-
INTERESTING GUY WOULD NEVER GIVE UP.
-
BOY, you go TO THE CLUB LAST WEEK, HE'LL
-
PULL UP ON YOU AND BUY YOU A DRINK, AND
-
YOU'LL TELL HIM YOU'RE NOT INTERESTED.
-
YOU THINK HE GONNA GIVE UP? NEXT WEEK.
-
He be right there.
-
>> Yes, sir.
-
>> That's how some of you GOT THE HUSBAND
-
YOU GOT RIGHT NOW. HE AIN'T GIVE UP.
-
But God said we must have the same type
-
of conviction
-
>> that we won't let obstacles
-
>> or the crowd
-
>> or inconvenience
-
stop us.
-
>> They had relentless faith.
-
>> Their faith was so relentless that the
-
crowd didn't even deter them.
-
The Bible said that when they came up
-
and saw the crowd was there, they said,
-
"Shoot, there's another way.
-
>> Get that. Bring them upstairs."
-
Upstairs.
-
There's There's not a patio
-
or access door.
-
>> Upstairs. WHY WHY ARE WE GOING UPSTAIRS?
-
Because when you have a conviction, sir,
-
>> you don't let obstacles stop you.
-
>> You search for opportunities.
-
>> YOU DON'T LET OBSTACLES STOP YOU. The
-
Bible said that they went up, took this
-
joker. Catch this. They not joker. I'm
-
sorry. That's my Aiden coming out.
-
Bible says that when they could not come
-
near him because of the crowd, they
-
uncovered the roof
-
>> where he was,
-
>> they started breaking. This is not their
-
house.
-
>> They start breaking up the roof
-
of A HOUSE THAT JESUS WAS STAYING IN.
-
>> And understand something. JESUS DIDN'T
-
GET MAD.
-
>> Jesus didn't get upset.
-
They found a way.
-
>> We we talking about about about groups
-
and and these kind of God is calling
-
some of you to find a way to lead a life
-
group.
-
>> No, it's not it's not. You're going to
-
have to make the time to lead a group.
-
>> You got to find some OF YOU NEED TO FIND
-
A way
-
>> to make your way on these Wednesday
-
night for corner circles.
-
>> You got you got to you got to you got to
-
move something. YOU GOT TO TEST
-
SOMETHING UP. RIGHT.
-
>> Oh yeah. Yeah. YOU CAN'T LET YOUR
-
CROWDED SCHEDULE KEEP YOU FROM GETTING
-
THERE. YOU GOING TO HAVE TO GO UP ON THE
-
ROOF AND TEAR SOMETHING UP.
-
>> Said they got on the roof. Catch this.
-
And and it said, "So when they had
-
broken through,
-
this is what the Holy Ghost wouldn't let
-
me get past." He said, "Every
-
breakthrough is not for you.
-
Every breakthrough IS NOT FOR YOU. GOD
-
IS CALLING US to create a breakthrough
-
for somebody else.
-
>> GOD IS CALLING US TO CREATE a They DID
-
ALL THIS WORK, NOT FOR THEMSELVES.
-
>> THEY DID ALL OF THIS WORK AND CREATED A
-
BREAKTHROUGH FOR SOMEBODY ELSE.
-
>> This is Bible. You look in Acts where
-
where the Bible said Paul and Silas
-
prayed and sang praises.
-
>> They were singing and singing praises.
-
But the Bible said that all of the
-
prisoners got loose.
-
>> They were SINGING AND PRAISING GOD, BUT
-
IT CREATED A BREAKTHROUGH FOR MORE THAN
-
JUST THEM.
-
>> CAN I TELL YOU THAT GOD WANTS US TO
-
CREATE BREAKTHROUGHS NOT JUST FOR
-
OURSELVES?
-
They were relentless. Somebody shout
-
relentless.
-
>> Relentless.
-
>> They were relentless.
-
They were relentless. They didn't allow
-
anything to keep them from moving and
-
getting this man to Jesus because they
-
had a conviction about Jesus's ability
-
to heal them. Understand something.
-
Community is not a spectator sport.
-
>> Community is not a spectator sport.
-
These guys got their hands dirty.
-
>> Yes. to get this man to Jesus.
-
>> Thank you, Lord.
-
Understand something. We spend so much
-
time praying for God to open doors for
-
us.
-
But the four friends in Capernaum
-
reminded us that sometimes God is
-
waiting for us to pick up a shovel
-
and create an entrance for our neighbor.
-
this can't can don't don't we know Jesus
-
well enough so that at least one time we
-
can come to church and praise for
-
somebody else
-
>> do we have enough Holy Ghost and enough
-
relationship with God that we can
-
rearrange our schedule and it's not for
-
our benefit
-
>> do do we at least know him well enough
-
and have enough relationship with him
-
and care enough about the people that's
-
around us to pick up a corner.
-
>> It's what God is calling us to do.
-
>> Number one, it was cooperative faith
-
that got him moving. Number two, it was
-
relentless faith that got him to Jesus.
-
Oh God. But then number three, it was
-
transform transformational faith that
-
carried car transformational faith
-
allowed him to carry what used to carry
-
him.
-
>> Thank you, Lord.
-
>> Transformational faith
-
allowed this man to carry what used to
-
carry him.
-
>> It's it's right here in the text. It's
-
right here. Look look at verse 10
-
through 12. It says he said to the
-
paralytic. Jesus starts talking to the
-
paralytic. He said, "I say to you,
-
arise,
-
>> take up your bed,
-
>> and go." Wait a minute. Now you asking
-
me. Jesus has healed him. And now he's
-
asking him to pick up and carry
-
>> what used to carry him.
-
>> This is what faith. This is
-
transformational faith.
-
JESUS TOLD HIM, "PICK UP YOUR bed
-
>> and walk home. Walk past the people who
-
doubted.
-
>> WALK PAST THE PEOPLE WHO SAID YOU WOULD
-
NEVER BE ANYTHING.
-
>> WALK PAST THE PEOPLE WHO WALKED PAST YOU
-
WHEN YOU WERE LAYING ON THE I I'M NOT
-
TRYING TO BE THIS KIND OF
-
CONFRONTATIONAL CHURCH, BUT YOU GOT TO
-
SEE WHAT JESUS IS SAYING."
-
>> YES, SIR.
-
>> YES, SIR. That's right.
-
>> SEE, BECAUSE SOMETIMES THERE'S SOME OF
-
YOU OH, THANK YOU, HOLY GHOST. THERE'S
-
SOME OF YOU WHO WILL NOT PICK UP YOUR
-
mat
-
>> because you're ashamed of your mat.
-
>> JESUS COULD HAVE JUST HEALED HIM AND
-
TOLD HOME.
-
>> THAT'S RIGHT.
-
>> But he didn't.
-
>> He said, "Pick up the very thing
-
>> that used to carry you.
-
I delivered you from pornography.
-
>> Don't act like you were never addicted.
-
>> Pick up
-
WHAT USED TO CARRY YOU.
-
>> You you you you were a single mother
-
and they told you you would never be
-
anything.
-
>> I know I'm preaching good right now. YOU
-
WERE A SINGLE MOTHER AND THEY TOLD YOU
-
THAT YOU WOULD NEVER BE anything
-
>> and they EMBARRASSED YOU,
-
>> STOP TALKING to you and it paralyzed you
-
>> and Jesus comes and there corporate
-
faith somebody gets around you see oh
-
God
-
the corporate faith comes around them
-
get them moving then relentless faith
-
get them to Jesus and Jesus heals them
-
>> Jesus Jesus don't want you to leave that
-
mat.
-
>> Jesus wants you to take up that mat.
-
>> As a single mother,
-
>> not at Oh, thank you, Lord. Not so that
-
you can go and tell people, "Ah, see
-
what I mean? I ain't need you." No way.
-
You see what the Lord had done for me?
-
That ain't what this is.
-
God deliver me. You see that?
-
What is that?
-
>> That that's THAT'S THAT'S NOT WHY GOD
-
TOLD YOU TO GRAB YOUR MAT
-
>> SO THAT YOU CAN TEASE OTHER PEOPLE.
-
>> He told you to grab your mat
-
>> so that you can show other people ABOUT
-
HIS POWER.
-
GOD GOD IS CALLING. HE'S SHIFTING OUR
-
church
-
>> to to to not not not shifting like we
-
haven't always done but we have a we
-
have an emphasis on
-
making disciples
-
>> to help people because our evangelism
-
team and we are all a part of the
-
evangelism team doing a great job and
-
people getting saved
-
>> but God is calling us to not just go get
-
them but go make them. Yeah. Yeah.
-
>> He's calling us as in scripture to go
-
make disciples. And a part of the kind
-
of groups that we're going to have is
-
what we call disciplehip groups
-
>> where we are going. Some of you have a
-
strong relationship with God
-
and you've taken up your mat and you're
-
walking. Jesus don't want you to take up
-
that mat to just show how powerful you
-
are
-
>> to how much you know about the Bible.
-
He wants you to take that mat and go
-
find somebody else.
-
>> Who just got saved but don't know don't
-
know
-
>> Adam from Malachi.
-
>> See many many Oh God. Thank you. Many of
-
us are strong in areas.
-
>> I'm going to say it now. Watch this.
-
like like in the fast. I heard some of
-
you, you saw the the the booklet and you
-
opened it up and you saw the food
-
restrictions and some people were like,
-
I eat like that anyway.
-
What is this?
-
I know some people said that.
-
My god. Supposed to be fasting. What is
-
fasting? Supposed to eat like this
-
anyway.
-
read the Bible.
-
>> You mean to tell me there's people
-
that's not reading the Bible? I read my
-
Bible every day.
-
We should be making time for God, right?
-
You haven't made time for God already.
-
I make time for God every day.
-
Can I tell you something? What you're
-
doing? You're taking your mat and
-
showing it off.
-
>> Oh Lord, you showing off your mat like
-
it's show and tell.
-
>> Like you so great.
-
BUT WHAT GOD HAS CALLED US TO DO IS TO
-
TAKE UP OUR BED, CARRY OUR MAT TO HELP
-
SOMEBODY ELSE.
-
>> If the fast is easy for you, THEN FIND
-
SOMEBODY WHO'S STRUGGLING AND HELP THEM.
-
>> IF READING YOUR BIBLE IS EASY FOR YOU,
-
FIND SOMEBODY WHO'S STRUGGLING WITH
-
READING AND HELP THEM.
-
>> That's right.
-
>> He's called us to carry a corner.
-
What am I singing? Any single mothers in
-
here? This is on my heart to do. Single
-
moms, stand up. I need four of you right
-
quick. Four of you. Come here. Uh-huh.
-
Come on. I just need four. One. That's
-
Yep. Them two right there. Yep. Come on.
-
Come on.
-
One, two, three, four. Come on.
-
Where the other single moms at? Stand
-
up.
-
Where they at? They in here. Y'all in
-
here? Let me Oh yeah. Come here. You in
-
the white shirt. Come here.
-
>> Thank you, Holy Ghost.
-
Lay right there. Lay on that mat. Lay on
-
that mat. Lay right there on that mat.
-
>> Yep. Lay down. I want y'all. Everybody
-
get a corner.
-
>> Make it happen. Make it happen. Make it
-
happen. That's it. Make it happen.
-
That's it. That's it. That's it. That's
-
it. Come back this way. Come back this
-
way. That's it. Make it happen.
-
>> Uh-huh.
-
Lay it down.
-
>> Lay it down.
-
>> Just stay right there. This is what God
-
wants to do.
-
>> I feel the power of God. This is what
-
God wants to do.
-
>> He wants to Yes, sir. Y'all know it. He
-
wants you
-
>> to grab a corner.
-
>> That's so YOU CAN SHOW HOW POWERFUL YOU
-
ARE.
-
>> BUT THERE'S SOMEBODY WHO FEELS LIKE THEY
-
CAN'T GET TO JESUS.
-
THERE'S SOMEBODY WHO IS PARALYZED.
-
>> It's not that they won't come.
-
>> They can't come.
-
>> OH, IT'S THEY CAN'T COME. They can't
-
move.
-
>> You and I CAN'T STAND BACK. BUT ALL
-
SANCTIFIED SOMEBODY. WELL, WHY DON'T
-
THEY JUST STOP? THEY CAN'T STOP.
-
>> Why don't they JUST PUT THE PORNOGRAPHY
-
DOWN? DON'T YOU THINK THEY TRIED?
-
>> WHY DON'T YOU JUST STOP DRINKING? THEY
-
TRIED. Won't you JUST STOP SMOKING? THEY
-
TRIED.
-
>> We were not made
-
>> to do life alone.
-
>> And God has called us.
-
>> Do you hear me?
-
>> GOD IS CALLING US TO CARRY a corner.
-
>> And listen to me. Some of us, the
-
carrying of the corner is stepping out
-
to lead a life group.
-
Amen.
-
>> God is calling you to rearrange your
-
schedule to lead a life group.
-
>> Amen.
-
>> There's a mat that he has picked you up
-
from.
-
>> SOMETHING HE HAS BROUGHT YOU through
-
>> and now you need to help somebody else.
-
>> That's one. But catch this. The rest of
-
us are called to carry our corner. Hear
-
me
-
>> by all of us being a part of a group.
-
Life groups for corneria are not
-
optional.
-
>> We are a church of groups.
-
>> SOMEBODY SHOUT IT. WE ARE
-
>> WE ARE
-
>> a church
-
>> of groups.
-
>> That's good.
-
>> Because let me tell you something.
-
>> Today she's laying down
-
>> and they are carrying her. But when she
-
stays in this group, life will hand one
-
of them something and they will be on
-
the mat and then it'll be her time to
-
carry a corner.
-
>> God is calling us
-
>> to carry a corner.
-
>> Brother, for some that is getting more
-
connected in your church,
-
>> in your relationships.
-
Some of you have dropped your corner in
-
your marriage.
-
>> God said, "Pick it up.
-
>> Pick it up. That other person can't
-
carry it by themselves.
-
>> Pick up your corner."
-
>> God is calling all of us corneria
-
>> to pick up our corner in these groups.
-
>> We have a mission, a mandate from God
-
>> to have more than 100 life group
-
leaders. when we need them because we
-
don't want to put 20 people in a group
-
that keeps it from being small. And my
-
introverts, I'm looking out for you
-
because you're not going to talk in a
-
big group.
-
>> Thank you.
-
>> You want the intimacy of a small group.
-
>> And so the only way we can do that is by
-
having more group leaders so that we can
-
keep it small.
-
>> My prayer is that we will make a
-
commitment
-
to be a part of a group.
-
everybody.
-
>> And then for those that God is dealing
-
with your heart that you step forward to
-
lead a group and when we all do that,
-
we're carrying our corner. Let's pray.
-
>> Father, in Jesus name, y'all stay right
-
there. Father, in Jesus name, we thank
-
you for your goodness. We thank you for
-
your mercy. Hallelujah. Yes.
-
>> Father, we sense your presence right
-
now.
-
>> And we thank you
-
>> for your love.
-
>> Thank you for your grace.
-
>> Thank you for your mercy. Thank you,
-
Lord, for opening up the scriptures to
-
us to help us to see
-
>> that, Father, we were not made to do
-
life alone. But Lord, you have called us
-
to carry a corner. Lord, you have called
-
us to get up from that mat that's been
-
carrying us and for us to take it up
-
and to move forward into what it is you
-
called us to do.
-
Father, I pray
-
that as we hear your word, that we will
-
not just be hearers, but we will be
-
doers as well.
-
>> Get the glory out of our lives.
-
>> Is our prayer.
-
>> Use us, Lord.
-
Use us. Our storage is empty and we are
-
available to you.
-
>> We are available to you, Father. We
-
won't make excuses. We will not allow
-
the crowding of our schedules to deter
-
us. But Lord, we will make a way because
-
we have a conviction
-
that you are who you say you are. And if
-
we would do our part, you would do
-
yours. So, Father, we thank you for it
-
now in Jesus name.
