  4. I have the great privilege of continuing in our series today in the book of James.

  5. This is part six in our series.

  6. If you're new to the series, this is we're still only on chapter three.

  7. There's five chapters, 128 verses in the book of James, and half of those verses are commands.

  8. And so you get a sense when you read the book of James and you study the book of James that James is this in your face kind of guy.

  9. He gets a revelation from Jesus and he doesn't tone it down at all.

  10. He I'm not so sure he doesn't tone it up a little bit and lets us have it, and I really have appreciated studying the book of James to be able to bring it to us each week.

  11. We got a couple more weeks after today as we go into chapter four next week and chapter five the next.

  12. But welcome to the series, james, if you're new.

  13. He's the half brother of Jesus and so he does have a little bit of clout to his authorship.

  14. That he grew up with.

  15. The Lord Didn't believe in Jesus at first, and then I think, according to Corinthians, paul wrote to the Corinthians that Jesus appeared to James after his resurrection and I think at that moment the older brother said I told you.

  16. So I told you I was God.

  17. You should have listened to me more.

  18. And James became a believer and wrote probably the first book of the New Testament.

  19. He wrote the first book that was written in the New Testament, most likely in about AD 48 or 49.

  20. And so today we're gonna look at the latter part of chapter three.

  21. So, those who are physically able, come on, let's stand up.

  22. Hey, those of you at home, we're watching you right now.

  23. Stand up.

  24. You're sitting down.

  25. Stand up for the reading of God's word as we're talking through practical faith, for practical living.

  26. James, chapter three, verse 13, says if you are wise and understand God's ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom.

  27. But if you're bitterly jealous and there's selfish ambition in your heart, don't cover up the truth with boasting and lying.

  28. For jealousy and selfishness are not God's kind of wisdom.

  29. Such things are earthly, unspiritual and demonic.

  30. For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind.

  31. But the wisdom from above is, first of all, pure.

  32. It's also peace loving, gentle at all times and willing to yield to others.

  33. It's full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds.

  34. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere, and those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.

  35. As I read these verses and studying them to bring this message today, the thoughts that were coming to emphasize for us today were the word wisdom that just kept coming from the verses wisdom from above and wisdom from below.

  36. So today I wanna talk on the subject wisdom from above.

  37. Now I thought about giving the message to the title how to not live a stupid life in honor of James' tone, but I went ahead and just chose wisdom from above.

  38. Let's pray one more time Holy Spirit, thank you for the word of God, thank you for being our teacher, thank you for being our interpreter.

  39. So today we ask that you would open our understanding, you would open our hearts, you would tear down any strongholds or any walls that are in us, that keep us from receiving the pure truth and the pure wisdom of God.

  40. We pray that you would anoint and empower my lips and my thoughts, my tongue, to be able to communicate this message from your word with the tone and the words that you would have me to do so, so that we could live lives that bring you honor and you glory.

  41. We pray all of this in Jesus' name and everybody shouted amen.

  42. All right, you may be seated.

  43. My big idea for us today out of this passage of scripture and the thought of wisdom from above, is really that we choose our source of truth, and then our source of truth chooses the person that we become.

  44. So we choose whether we're gonna get our source of wisdom from God or we choose whether we're gonna get our source of wisdom from the earth, and the source of wisdom that we choose will determine the person that we become.

  45. And I am guessing, by studying the book of James and reading his wisdom literature really, that he was a lover of the book of Proverbs, and so he contrasts right here these two types of wisdom the wisdom of the world and the wisdom of God.

  46. So he gives us the options and, of course, is encouraging us to choose the right option.

  47. How many of you recognize with me that our life is full of options?

  48. Right, you have options every day.

  49. You had options today.

  50. What was I gonna have?

  51. Hot coffee or iced coffee or no coffee at all?

  52. Are there any people in the room still in this generation that are no coffee at all.

  53. I'm a no coffee at all, or I got plenty of energy.

  54. All right, look at you guys.

  55. All right, is there anybody here that doesn't have a personality without coffee?

  56. All right, we know who you are.

  57. So we got these options every day.

  58. We got you know.

  59. Am I gonna go to bed at a decent time so I can wake up at a decent time and be rested, or am I gonna stay up late on social media?

  60. Are we gonna kiss and make up or go to bed angry?

  61. Is it gonna be Chevy or Ford?

  62. That's obvious.

  63. Go ahead and say what it is.

  64. What is it?

  65. I love pitting the church against one another every now and then.

  66. Is it gonna be three kids, more kids?

  67. Trade in the kids we have for different kids?

  68. Is it gonna be homeschool, public school?

  69. Is it gonna be move or stay?

  70. Is it gonna get a second opinion on the health situation that I'm going through, or take the advice that I've already received?

  71. We got options every single day of our life and so we need wisdom, don't we?

  72. We need wisdom, is it?

  73. Am I gonna sign up for the discipleship programs in Life Church or am I gonna sign up for the discipleship programs in Life Church.

  74. I mean, we got options to choose from.

  75. It's gonna be what life group am I gonna be in?

  76. And they're big decisions.

  77. Am I gonna take impact?

  78. Am I gonna take our leadership, college, forge and Foundry at Life Church?

  79. Of course you are.

  80. Some of these decisions are super easy.

  81. I'm just helping you out on it.

  82. You know what are you gonna major in college?

  83. Are you gonna go to college at R?

  84. Are you gonna pursue a relationship with him or her or not?

  85. You know, are we gonna get pets, are we gonna get a dog or are we gonna get two dogs?

  86. We need wisdom, right, we need wisdom.

  87. We need the kind of wisdom we need is an old school wisdom.

  88. It's a heavenly wisdom, it's a godly wisdom, and Proverbs says this.

  89. It says wisdom is supreme.

  90. Therefore, get wisdom, though it cost all you have.

  91. Get understanding.

  92. Why does the Bible tell us to get wisdom?

  93. It's very simple because we don't have it.

  94. Did y'all hear me this morning?

  95. I know this.

  96. People come to church here to be encouraged.

  97. Faster tells us I'm stupid, I'm a fool, and I am.

  98. All of us are without God.

  99. Without God in our life, we make foolish decisions.

  100. We don't choose right all the time.

  101. In fact, we choose wrong a lot of the time.

  102. That's why the Bible tells us to get wisdom, because we're not born with wisdom, we're born fools and we don't have to die fools.

  103. That's why James is telling us we got options.

  104. You got heavenly, godly wisdom, you got earthly and worldly wisdom, and he describes those for us and I want to go through that a little bit today.

  105. You know my dad prayed for me a lot all my life and I was able to be my own dad's pastor for decades and my dad maybe every day I think every day prayed a couple of things for me.

  106. I knew what he prayed for me.

  107. He let me know what he prayed for me and he always prayed for wisdom and humility for me and I was always kind of glad and I was also going.

  108. He knows that I'm not wise and I'm not humble.

  109. How many of you know what I'm talking about?

  110. When someone gives you a book on anger, you're like, oh okay, I need that book.

  111. You know when people so my dad always prayed that for me and we know I'm thankful for it.

  112. I'm thankful for those prayers.

  113. So I just want to encourage us as we get into this message today let's choose to not be simple in our understanding of life.

  114. Let's not be simple in our understanding of relationships.

  115. Let's get wisdom.

  116. Let's not be simple in our understanding of raising kids.

  117. Let's get God's wisdom.

  118. Let's not be simple in our understanding of how to deal with our finances.

  119. Let's get God's wisdom because it costs.

  120. He says, whatever it costs, get it.

  121. But I'm here to tell you it costs far less to get wisdom than it does to live without it.

  122. So there's a guy in the Old Testament that was given this opportunity one time when God showed up to him and he said ask whatever you want and I'm going to give it to you.

  123. It was kind of like one of those moments where the genie in the bottle, you rub it and you get whatever you want, but you only only one wish what do you want?

  124. What's at the top of your list?

  125. And so Solomon is his name and he had this encounter with God and God goes what do you want?

  126. What's your wish?

  127. And I think, man, what?

  128. What would I ask for if I was given the opportunity that God said whatever you want, I'm going to give it to you.

  129. What's the top thing that you want?

  130. You know, a lot of us would go well, I want more wishes.

  131. Well, you don't get that one.

  132. I want more money, or I want a smoking hot wife that can cook and pray and, you know, make lots of money, or whatever it might be.

  133. Well, solomon could have said any of those things.

  134. He could have said well, give me a husband, give me a wife.

  135. And well, he actually had a lot of those.

  136. He had a lot of wives but, but didn't need to ask for that one.

  137. But if you were given the opportunity, some of you are going through some serious issues and you might say, well, I want to be healed, or I want a friend of mine to be healed, I want a kid, I want a child, whatever it might be you would that's what you would ask.

  138. I want you to see, when Solomon was given the opportunity, what he asked.

  139. Look at this.

  140. He said give me the wisdom, give me the wisdom.

  141. I need wisdom to lead these people.

  142. So I want, if I can, if I can just get one thing from you, then I want the wisdom of God, I want the wisdom of the Lord.

  143. And James then gives us this option in his writings.

  144. He's like there's wisdom from above and there's wisdom from below.

  145. Choose well.

  146. Choose well where you get your source of wisdom, because wherever you get your source of wisdom is going to determine the person that you become.

  147. And so I want to start off.

  148. It's a little little hard hitting.

  149. First I want to talk.

  150. Talk about what earthly wisdom looks like according to James.

  151. He says this he said such wisdom does not come down from heaven, but it's earthly and it's unspiritual and it's demonic.

  152. It's this earthly wisdom.

  153. So the first thought I want to share with you is that James tells us there is a worldly wisdom.

  154. There is a worldly quote unquote wisdom, and Proverbs says it like this there's a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.

  155. So it's it's it's church.

  156. It's becoming more and more clear to side with culture is to side with worldly and demonic thought.

  157. It is extremely important to me, as your pastor, that you understand that there is a a stark difference between the wisdom of heaven and the wisdom of God and the wisdom of the earth.

  158. And the reason the Bible calls it earthly quote unquote wisdom is because it sounds good at first hearing, and so it is my job to preach the word in such a way to bring in some cultural thoughts, so that you will have the smoke clear, so to speak, because if you're watching this, you're going to be able to hear it.

  159. You're going to be able to hear it.

  160. You're going to be able to hear it.

  161. You're going to be able to hear it If you're watching this at a later date.

  162. Right now, our city and area and the Northwest is covered in smoke because of fires, and so I imagine if, what if that never left, what if there was always smoke and someone was born and was raised in this kind of smoke?

  163. You, as a parent, would say this isn't how it always was, this actually isn't normal, and it would be hard for them to imagine what normal is.

  164. What do you mean?

  165. Blue skies?

  166. What do you mean?

  167. Clear air?

  168. This is all I know.

  169. Is this smoke, this message?

  170. I'm trying to say this analogy to you so that you will see the smoke of culture, you will smell the smoke of culture and you will realize that what I have heard is not normal.

  171. Paul writes to the Corinthians.

  172. He goes where is the wise person?

  173. This is a good question.

  174. Where is the teacher of the law?

  175. Where is the philosopher of this age?

  176. Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?

  177. So there is a worldly wisdom and the wisdom of the world that has been lurking in the backdrop of universities, schools, hollywood and media has come running to the limelight, attempting to deceive whoever it can, and at surface level it may sound loving and kind or caring and make logical sense, but once you start following it to its conclusion, you recognize this actually isn't loving at all.

  178. Are you hearing me today?

  179. So to allow people to just buy in to a deception of worldly thought without lovingly bringing a different clarity of thought to people is actually not loving at all.

  180. So there is a worldly and earthly wisdom that I want us to be aware of.

  181. And then he says this, this wisdom another way.

  182. He describes it in another translation New King James Version.

  183. He said this wisdom does not descend from above but is earthly.

  184. We just talked about that there.

  185. So I want you to have a foundation that there is a worldly and earthly wisdom.

  186. And then he describes it it's sensual, it is sensual.

  187. All right, some of the.

  188. So there is a sensual, earthly worldly wisdom is sensual.

  189. Some of the hottest topics in culture today center around sexuality and sensuality, the pursuit of physical and sexual pleasure.

  190. Everything from my body, my choice.

  191. Let me start here just for a moment.

  192. First off, all thought that is true.

  193. Wisdom doesn't originate with man.

  194. It originates with God, and so there are plenty of scriptures that I could unpack about my body, my choice, but let me just give you one.

  195. In the New Testament, paul writes to the Corinthians and says your body is not your own.

  196. You have been bought with a price.

  197. Therefore, glorify God with your body, and your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit.

  198. So it's really not my body my choice.

  199. That's not.

  200. That's worldly wisdom.

  201. That might sound like, well, it is, isn't that your body?

  202. Well, not, when you believe what the Bible says.

  203. The Bible says your body is actually God's and he purchased it.

  204. So honor him with your body.

  205. So, everything from my body, my choice, to gender confusion, to gender surgeries, for gender surgeries for minors, to same sex relationships, to adultery, to sex outside of marriage, to pornography, to sex trafficking, to every evil sexual perversion that we could mention in the earth, it all comes from a sensual, worldly wisdom, and sensual wisdom makes choices based on instinct rather than on what God thinks.

  206. Sensual wisdom hear this comes from instinct.

  207. It comes from what I feel like doing.

  208. It comes from what it's really honestly.

  209. It's more animalistic instinct Rather than what.

  210. Does God think Y'all still glad you came to church today.

  211. Now you know why I prayed for you so much.

  212. So now listen, this isn't what I'm about ready to read to you is very important as I continue on the thought about what sensual wisdom is, so that as we sit in church and the smoke begins to clear for us, we don't look at the world and go go like point of finger at any sin, as if we're not sinners.

  213. But I also don't go on the other side of the coin and not speak truth and buy into the lie, acting like I'm loving somebody by letting them just follow their instinct.

  214. That's good.

  215. That's good.

  216. You see, I know that.

  217. Here's what's intimidating is because you are.

  218. If you will go ahead and agree with what the Bible says and you will get wisdom from above rather than wisdom from the earth, then you're canceled.

  219. You're not like most of us have anything really to be canceled from anyway, but you're labeled.

  220. You're labeled a phobic of something.

  221. You know you're now and now.

  222. You're a racist, you're a phobic, you're a whatever kind of name thing.

  223. You don't love people.

  224. You know that's not true at all.

  225. I actually love you enough that I believe that God has a better plan for your life.

  226. Only because of this, because such was I, because such was I, I was going down the same path.

  227. I know what that murky water looks like.

  228. I was raised in that same smoke, I breathed that same air, I got the toxicity in me.

  229. So I'm not looking at you as if, hey, you should be all live like me, like I've always been this way.

  230. No, no, no, no, no.

  231. I came out of the same stuff.

  232. We came out of the same stuff, and I just wanna give you the hope that God gave to me.

  233. Oh, come on, you can do better than that.

  234. Here it is.

  235. At one time, at one time, we too were foolish.

  236. You see, at one time, all of us didn't have godly wisdom.

  237. We were born a fool.

  238. All of us were born fools.

  239. And so we, at one time we were all didn't have what we needed.

  240. We were disobedient, we were deceived and we were enslaved by all kinds of what Passions and pleasures.

  241. You see, that's worldly wisdom.

  242. Worldly wisdom is sensual.

  243. It's all about physical pleasure.

  244. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another, but when the kindness and love of God, our Savior, appeared, he saved us.

  245. So I always.

  246. I think it's so important to read a scripture like that when I say the statements that I just said, because it's so important that we never forget where we came from, and so I say that, listen, you might be hearing me right now and there might be a wall up as you're in the room or you're online and you think you don't understand.

  247. You've never dealt with this, or my son did this, or my daughter that, or me this or that.

  248. I get it.

  249. I don't understand some things, but I do understand sin and I do understand being disobedient, and I do understand that there's a way that seems right to man, but in the end it leads to death.

  250. And so all I say is, if you don't listen to me, just please read the Bible and just see what God has to say, because I know this that God's way is always better, amen.

  251. So the church doesn't judge, doesn't look down on the world, because we came out of the world as well.

  252. We're still a part of it, but we love the world enough, we love people enough to speak godly wisdom to people and to let them know that there is a hope for a better life for you.

  253. So James goes on and he says this wisdom does not descend from above, it's earthly.

  254. So there's a worldly wisdom.

  255. It's sensual, it centers around physical and sexual pleasure.

  256. And then he just you know, he beats around the bush a little bit and he just calls it demonic.

  257. He goes it's demonic.

  258. Well, I like that.

  259. God chose James to write some of the Bible because how many of you know, every now and then, if you're really into something, you need shock value, and every parent knows this, because your children get into stuff.

  260. And when your children get into stuff, you just being that sweet little Johnny, johnny, how many of you know Johnny doesn't hear you, and every now and then your voice has to go up to about 127 decibels like a jet engine to shake Johnny out of whatever he was doing, so he doesn't get ran over by a Mack truck.

  261. Right, all right, that's James, that's James.

  262. James is coming to us in the scripture and he's saying listen, it's earthly.

  263. And then he gets a little bit stronger.

  264. He goes hey, it's sensual.

  265. And then he goes hey, if you're not listening, it's demonic.

  266. So that's why I pause.

  267. Anytime culture pushes something.

  268. Anytime culture pushes something, I pause and I go.

  269. I gotta think about this through the lens of scripture, because most often, the devil is behind whatever is being pushed in culture, and it comes with a flashy lure, but it has hooks in it somewhere, and the Bible teaches us that the devil actually comes as an angel of light, comes as an angel of light.

  270. So it's very important to me, then, that the church be awakened, that the church be in tune with the difference between what an earthly wisdom is and what a godly wisdom is, because if she's not awakened, she's gotta understand.

  271. She's the last line of defense, and many churches are already falling to the deception of the world and the deception of culture.

  272. It is the church.

  273. The Bible says it is the pillar and the ground of truth, and so it is important hear this now it is important that the church be awakened and recognize okay, yeah, there is a demonic thought going on, and I don't wanna buy into it, because if the church will awaken, then we have the opportunity to turn our culture back to God again.

  274. If she doesn't hear me now, this is a little bit of a prophetic warning.

  275. If the church doesn't wake up, then there could come a day where it becomes illegal to preach what I just preached and it'll be defined as a hate crime.

  276. Do you hear me today?

  277. And so the things that you take for granted?

  278. Do you think just coming to church is such a beautiful thing?

  279. And she's lured to sleep?

  280. That's not the right word, lulled.

  281. Thank you, lulled.

  282. I like a church that helps a pastor preach Lulled to sleep.

  283. Then, all of a sudden, things are switched on her in a moment.

  284. She goes how did that happen?

  285. Right, but how we wake up is we recognize that James, james, james, james is going.

  286. Listen, there's an earthly wisdom, there's a central wisdom and there's a demonic wisdom.

  287. I want you to wake up.

  288. But the good news, church, is this oh my word, is it really that time already?

  289. It's not that time already.

  290. You got all morning.

  291. You got all morning.

  292. I already talked about that.

  293. I'm not gonna talk about that, okay, I'm not gonna talk about that.

  294. All right, thursday heavenly wisdom, okay, wow, I'm halfway through, so I gotta figure this out a little bit right here.

  295. James goes the wisdom that comes from heaven.

  296. So there is a wisdom that comes from heaven, there's a godly wisdom, and it says this done in humility, that comes from wisdom.

  297. Let me say it like this a heavenly wisdom is always humble.

  298. A heavenly wisdom never acts like wow, I got it all put together.

  299. Or a heavenly wisdom is a humble wisdom, and that's why Proverbs says pride leads to disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.

  300. See, worldly wisdom is self-centered and a heavenly wisdom that is humble is god-centered and other-centered.

  301. All right, so there's no getting around it.

  302. The whys are humble.

  303. There's no getting around it.

  304. The whys are humble people.

  305. If you're a know-it-all, you're too proud to ask for help, then you're destined to remain a fool.

  306. I'm not the smartest person in the room, and all the smart people know it, and this is not a good place to say amen, but I'm not the most gifted person in the room and I rarely ever am the most gifted person in the room.

  307. But the one thing that I've done my entire life is to surround myself with smarter people and more gifted people, and some of the reason there's any blessing or favor on my life at all is because of the people in my life, is because of the people that God has granted me the honor and the pleasure to do life with in our city and this region and even beyond that, have chosen to join their life with mine and with the work of God here, and so the kind of wisdom that we want from heaven recognizes I don't have what I need.

  308. So you could be in high school right now and you feel that intimidation.

  309. You go I don't know how I'm gonna be able to be a Christian in high school right now, or I don't know how I'm gonna navigate through my own issues.

  310. I'm dealing with gender dysphoria myself, and now that I hear you say that, I'm even more like what do I do?

  311. Okay, here's where Godly Wisdom comes in.

  312. You just recognize that you need help and I'm just telling you I'm the front of the line, so just get in line behind me, because I'm gonna get help first, and then Jason's right there.

  313. Actually, he's in front of me, he's worse off than I am, and and I go ahead.

  314. This is the kind of attitude we need to have when it comes to wisdom is that I'm in line with you.

  315. I need the wisdom of God to navigate through my own feelings, to navigate through my own instincts, to navigate through my own thoughts, and so if I want, if I want heavenly wisdom, I choose a humble position, and then James goes on and he talks about it being submissive and I think to me that speaks of this being.

  316. I'm teachable.

  317. I'm a teachable person and so I guess my question to you would be if people described you, would they describe you as a porcupine or a puppy?

  318. Because puppies are approachable and they're teachable.

  319. Cats are definitely not, but puppies are teachable.

  320. I'm sorry, I know I pick on you, just like Ford people, but but porcupines have those quills that are all out.

  321. It's like you keep your distance from me, but someone that gains heaven's wisdom drops the quills and they got these big paws that they can grow into.

  322. And they're approachable and they're trainable and they allow people into their world and allow people into their life and those who don't.

  323. And they just put up barriers and they're like great with, you're great, they're great with telling people what's going on in their life, but they don't allow you to give them any input.

  324. Well then, you'll just stay in worldly wisdom rather than gain heavenly wisdom.

  325. So, being humble and being teachable, how do I get?

  326. And it's rewarding.

  327. I don't have time to preach it, okay, how do I get it?

  328. How do I get it?

  329. It's very simple and I'm gonna close.

  330. I'll just tell you.

  331. James says it very clearly.

  332. He said anyone lacks wisdom, let him ask God.

  333. Let him ask the Lord, because he'll give you, liberally, what you need and he's generous with it.

  334. So I think about okay, well, okay, I'm gonna ask God for it.

  335. What does that mean?

  336. It means this when you're facing situations, the first thing you do is you pray.

  337. Whatever situation you're facing, let prayer be your first response and not your last resort.

  338. To get wisdom, you learn to turn to God.

  339. First.

  340. You learn to say God, will you help me?

  341. God, I don't know if I should go on that date.

  342. God, I don't know if that's the college I should go to.

  343. Would you help me to decide whether I take that promotion or not?

  344. Lord, what is your plan about our kids?

  345. Did we homeschool?

  346. Did we send them to this school?

  347. What, god?

  348. I need your wisdom.

  349. So you make prayer your first response.

  350. And then the other thing that you do is I think, if you ask God, god would say this.

  351. He would say I gave you an entire book.

  352. I gave you a whole book.

  353. The book is full of wisdom, and so every day I want you to read it.

  354. I want you to read this and you might think, well, I didn't get anything today.

  355. That would be like thinking that I don't enjoy every meal I eat, but every meal I've eaten has kept me alive and gotten me to this point.

  356. So when you read the Bible on a regular basis, there is wisdom coming off the pages of God, and there will be times when you read verses like James that will confront you, and so you ask God for it.

  357. And second and last thought is then I ask other Christ followers for it, as I drop the porcupine quills and I allow people in my life and I ask them questions.

  358. One of the things that I started decades ago my wife and I both is we started inviting people to speak into our life when it came to parenting, when we looked at them and we said, man, you kids are doing great, or you did great, you can talk to us about what you did.

  359. And then we've learned about curriculums that we couldn't have found on our own and someone would show us something.

  360. And then, when we're curious about finances, find people who are doing great in their finances and they're generous and they give and get those people in our life, or people who seem like they have such a walk with God and I want to get closer to the Lord and I surround myself with those kind of people.

  361. I want to be sure that I don't surround myself with everyone who's broken, everyone of those areas, and otherwise the information I'm getting is broken information.

  362. I need people who are connected to God and have allowed themselves to be in a posture of humility, to learn from others and to learn from God, and to take God's word and apply it to their life.

  363. Amen, amen, amen, amen.

  364. So so let's take a moment and let's ask the Holy Spirit what he's saying to us from above your heads and close your eyes just for a moment.

  365. Holy Spirit, you're the teacher, you're the interpreter, and so we're asking today would you show us what you are emphasizing?

  366. Would you speak to me?

  367. What is it you're saying to me?

  368. Would you help me to apply what you're saying?

  369. Help me to take a step in the direction of your word and to really do what James is telling us the entire book, and that is do good deeds.

  370. Now, walk differently, go in a different direction, or help us to apply what you're emphasizing to us this day.

  371. We just want to all thank you for your word, because we're all in line, in the humble line saying I need help, I need help and so will you help me.

  372. I don't understand it all.

  373. I know you do.

  374. Will you help me as a parent?

  375. Will you help me as a student?

  376. Will you help me as a single person or married, and all the situations represented?

  377. We thank you that you'll give us more than what we even need Now, with every head bowed and every eye closed.

  378. Just for another moment, if you're in the room and you would say, bob, I bought into a worldly wisdom and thought that I could just live a good life and that'd be good enough to get into heaven.

  379. But really it's not about that at all.

  380. It's about Jesus and what he did for me, and we're all sinners in need of a Savior.

  381. And if that would be you and you would say, bob, I don't know if I'm right with God In fact, I'm pretty sure I'm not right with God but if he would take me like I am and begin to walk with me and change me so I could live forever with Him, then I'm in that line.

  382. I want that in my life.

  383. I want to pray for you today and I'm not going to call you forward, but I do want to know who would be here, in the sound of my voice and the sound of God's word, today that would say I want to get my life right with Jesus today.

  384. I don't want to live another moment without my life being right with Him.

  385. So, between me, you and heaven, who's ready to say I want Jesus to be the Lord of my life?

  386. Would you look up at me and just catch eyes with me, maybe even just wave your hand, so I can be sure to see you?

  387. I see you.

  388. It's great, sir.

  389. Who else will see you back here?

  390. Great, don't want to miss you.

  391. I see you guys back here.

  392. Wonderful, awesome, great, thank you.

  393. He loves each and every one of you more than you've ever been loved by anybody in your life.

  394. He sees you and I want to pray on your behalf and you, just under your breath, can just say yes to this prayer.

  395. Jesus, I pray on behalf of my friends today that say God, I want you in my life.

  396. I don't want to buy into this worldly wisdom anymore.

  397. I don't want to be the Lord of my life.

  398. I want you to be the King, I want you to be the Lord and I want you to be my Savior, if you can take me like I am, but not leave me this way, then here I am, I'm yours.

  399. Forgive me of every sin that I've ever committed or ever will.

  400. I want to be what the Bible says is born again.

  401. Thank you for becoming my Lord and becoming my Savior this very moment, for the rest of my life.

  402. I pray this in your name, jesus, and everybody shout out amen, amen and amen.
