  1. all right if you have a Bible or an app

  2. let's open it up we are going to be in

  3. second Timothy this morning the book of

  4. second

  5. Timothy we're going to be looking at

  6. chapter three we're going to have our

  7. focus in verses 14 through

  8. 17 and we're going to discuss why God's

  9. word is so vital and necessary in our

  10. lives if you think about it your entire

  11. life is being formed and shaped by

  12. something the way you interact in your

  13. marriage how you parent how you go about

  14. establishing

  15. relationships how you're a business

  16. owner how you're an employee every part

  17. about your life your thoughts your

  18. actions your words they are influenced

  19. by something they're being informed and

  20. shaped to put it another way your your

  21. life is always being directed is always

  22. being influenced and when you think

  23. about it this way you begin to think

  24. about the things that you

  25. consume every

  26. song every movie every podcast every

  27. swipe of the screen it is all geared

  28. towards influencing you in some shape or

  29. form there's an author by the name of

  30. James Clear he wrote a book here's what

  31. he said your mind adapts to what you

  32. consume your soul adapts to what you

  33. love what you feed yourself today is who

  34. you will become

  35. tomorrow or let me phrase it this way

  36. you've undoubtedly heard this before you

  37. are what you

  38. eat we know what that means for us

  39. physically but I want to challenge us

  40. this morning to think about it

  41. spiritually

  42. what are you consuming what are you

  43. allowing your kids to

  44. consume the question that I want to

  45. challenge you is this challenge you with

  46. is this what is shaping your life what

  47. is informing your world view what

  48. directs you in all aspects of your

  49. life Paul the Apostle Paul he's now

  50. nearing the end of his life we've been

  51. in a series over the book of Acts

  52. uh throughout last year in March we'll

  53. dive right back into that series over

  54. the book of Acts but if you've read the

  55. book of Acts you know towards the end

  56. the friends of Paul are telling him if

  57. you go back to Rome you will die and do

  58. you remember how Paul responds he says I

  59. know but it's better for me to die

  60. standing on the truth of the gospel than

  61. it is to live a life dedicated to and

  62. anything that is contrary and

  63. disobedient to the Lord and so Paul in

  64. the final moments of his life begins to

  65. write this letter to Timothy Timothy was

  66. a pastor in Ephesus he was a pro and he

  67. learned a lot of his uh pastoring

  68. abilities how to Shepherd and how to

  69. lead people to the glory of God in

  70. accordance with the gospel he learned

  71. from Paul and so Paul in chapter three I

  72. challenged you guys uh yesterday read

  73. through chapter 3 because it really

  74. gives us some great context and detail

  75. to where we're going this morning he

  76. begins to emphasize the truth of God's

  77. word why scripture is important there

  78. was a lot of political pressure that was

  79. happening during the writing of this

  80. letter there was a lot of social

  81. pressure on how you're to live your life

  82. and it's something that we're exposed in

  83. our world to today are we not there is

  84. cultural pressure on what your life

  85. should look like on how you should

  86. should parent your kids on what your

  87. marriage should look like how you should

  88. view others there there is a pressure

  89. from the world around us that is

  90. influencing and dictating your lives and

  91. what Paul does in chapter three is he

  92. begins to paint this contrasting

  93. picture on one side there are those who

  94. are lovers of

  95. themselves who deny the power of God who

  96. chase after worldly success at the risk

  97. of the truth of God and what that

  98. results in is is really what we learn

  99. from Psalm chapter one or Psalm chapter

    Psalms 14 chapter mention

  100. 14 that the fool says in his heart there

  101. is no God and when there is a denial of

  102. scripture when there's a denial of Truth

  103. your life is set on a course that will

  104. lead you to Eternal condemnation and

  105. Damnation to put it another way your

  106. eternity will be spent in hell he

  107. separated from God

  108. forever but then on the other side Paul

  109. begins to paint this picture of what

  110. life looks like for the

  111. individual who looks to the truth of

  112. God's word and don't miss

  113. this is not just transformed in the

  114. mind but it's transformed in the heart

  115. the one who is no longer a lover of self

  116. but becomes a lover of Jesus a lover of

  117. the word a lover of Truth in that

  118. individual's life will be dramatically

  119. different from the one who lives in

  120. denial or rather

  121. Disobedience and let me just challenge

  122. you with this this

  123. morning some of

  124. us we would say we believe God's

  125. word we would say that it indeed is true

  126. and we would even say that it influences

  127. every part of our

  128. lives but if we did some real soul

  129. searching if we really took inventory of

  130. how we live our lives and the thoughts

  131. that will invade our mind and and the

  132. words that will speak and and the

  133. actions that we participate in there

  134. might be a completely different picture

  135. that's painted from the things that we

  136. would say we

  137. believe and it would be a picture that

  138. is painted as an individual who lives on

  139. Disobedience to Jesus Christ

  140. so second

    2 Timothy 3 chapter mention

  141. Timothy chapter 3 beginning in verse 14

  142. here's here's what Paul

  143. writes but as for you now who's he

  144. writing this letter to it's to Timothy

  145. and these are Paul's final words Paul

  146. knows his end is near and if you had

  147. final words and you knew your end was

  148. coming you would choose those words very

  149. carefully well this is what Paul

  150. does after describing what godlessness

  151. looks like after describing the the

  152. individual or the world that would deny

  153. the truth of God's word he he turns his

  154. attention to Timothy but as for you now

  155. no doubt Paul's writing this to Timothy

  156. during a certain time period in history

  157. in a particular context in culture but

  158. make no mistake God is writing these

  159. words to

  160. you so here's what I want to challenge

  161. you with with rather than reading it but

  162. as for you read it this way but as for

  163. Roland put your name in there continue

  164. in what you have learned and have firmly

  165. believed knowing from whom you learned

  166. it and how from childhood you have been

  167. acquainted with the sacred

  168. writings now what about these sacred

  169. writings why are they so

  170. impactful why as Christians do we lean

  171. on scripture do we turn to the Bible as

  172. our source of truth and not only truth

  173. that that we're to believe with our mind

  174. but truth that is a transform our hearts

  175. well Paul continues which are able to

  176. make you wise for salvation through

  177. faith in Christ Jesus verse 16 all

  178. scripture is breathed out by God and

  179. profitable for teaching for reproof for

  180. correction

  181. amen and for training in righteousness

  182. it doesn't end there there's a reason

  183. there's there's a purpose there's

  184. there's a desire that this would result

  185. in something and he tells us in verse 17

  186. that the man of God that but as as for

  187. you

  188. Roland that Roland may be complete and

  189. equipped for every good work and all

  190. God's people

  191. said Lord would you bless your heart

  192. would you bless your word Holy Spirit

  193. would you stir our

  194. hearts I have one goal this

  195. morning and that is to show you how the

  196. very thing that would shape your life

  197. life that would take precedent in

  198. informing your world view should be none

  199. other than the

  200. Bible that everything you experience

  201. that you endure that you encounter in

  202. your life would be viewed through the

  203. filter of God's

  204. word often times and I think we can

  205. pinpoint moments in our life where it's

  206. been the exact opposite where we have

  207. allowed our

  208. experiences and things we endure and the

  209. things that we encounter become the

  210. filter by which we interpret God's word

  211. but that's backwards that's dangerous

  212. and it gets us into situations where we

  213. deny truth twist God's word and live in

  214. Disobedience to his Rule and his law let

  215. me tell you why this is important why

  216. why this

  217. matters especially if we've committed to

  218. maybe changing some things in 2025 if if

  219. we committed to being a different person

  220. this year compared to who we were last

  221. year or or years prior the reason this

  222. is

  223. important is because the design of God's

  224. word the Reason God has has spoken his

  225. word to us and the reason it is endured

  226. and been preserved and persevered

  227. throughout shifting cultures changing

  228. ideologies and continual persecution is

  229. because God's word is designed to shape

  230. you into the image of

  231. Jesus did you know the moment that you

  232. give your yes to Christ the moment you

  233. place your faith in him the moment to

  234. use Paul's words you through through

  235. faith in the sacred writings have now

  236. been informed with the wisdom that leads

  237. to Salvation you are expected to now be

  238. a model of Jesus Christ

  239. you know when it comes to obedience and

  240. the Christian Life obedience is not

  241. optional for us so often that's the way

  242. we lives live our lives do we not we

  243. we'll

  244. choose what laws and rules and

  245. Commandments will live by and then

  246. others will will cast aside love your

  247. neighbor I'm all about that forgive

  248. others I'm all about

  249. that but what about live a life of

  250. Purity save yourself for marriage don't

  251. be given over to drunkenness or

  252. substance abuse how often do we pick and

  253. choose what rules and laws we want to

  254. live out and God's design in preserving

  255. his word for us is not so that we would

  256. pick and choose when to serve Christ

  257. when to reject Christ when to obey when

  258. to disobey but but rather we would

  259. embrace it from Genesis to Revelation

  260. and everything in between we would

  261. embrace it as the Avenue by which God

  262. shapes and informs us into the image of

  263. his

  264. son how it informs our beliefs our

  265. character and our purpose so four things

  266. I want to look at this

  267. morning that um that we can begin to

  268. understand and apply to our lives as we

  269. begin to unpack our passage here in

  270. second Timothy here's the first one if

  271. you're taking notes the Bible is God's

  272. voice to the

  273. world in the past God spoke through the

  274. prophets he spoke marvelous words

  275. through the prophets you can read about

  276. them all in the Old Testament it was a

  277. literal booming voice from the

  278. sky he spoke through nature he spoke

  279. through his creation and and in these

  280. last days he speaks to us now through

  281. his son

  282. Jesus Ry read it this morning John

    John 1 chapter mention

  283. chapter

  284. 1 she talked about the eternality of

  285. Jesus in the beginning the word was

  286. there that that everything that exists

  287. is a result of the word it's a result of

  288. Jesus and we know this because the

  289. Living Word Jesus

  290. Christ has now given us the written word

  291. the holy scriptures and so the Bible

  292. serves as God's voice to the world this

  293. is where it all begins and if there's

  294. anything that I want you to know this

  295. morning if if there's anything that that

  296. you

  297. retain from this Sunday I I pray that

  298. it's this that God's word speaks to

  299. us this is Paul's

  300. precise meaning in verse 16 go back with

  301. me to verse

  302. 16 he says all

  303. scripture is breathed out by

  304. God every word on this page and the

  305. original writings were breathed out by

  306. God some translations will use the word

  307. inspired it was all inspired by God what

  308. does does that

  309. mean why is that so significance

  310. significant Paul he's really detailing

  311. three important things to us with that

  312. word use usage God breathe number one

  313. he's emphasizing divine

  314. origin that these are not man's words

  315. these are God's words he's asserting

  316. that that every time we gather and study

  317. and read in your personal time and in

  318. public that the Bible is not merely

  319. human words about God but they are God's

  320. words that the Bible is not just about

  321. God it is from

  322. God the Apostle Peter will go on to

  323. write some

  324. letters in the New Testament here's what

  325. he writes in second Peter

  326. 2 as he is addressing Christians who

  327. have been dispersed because of

  328. persecution he's reminding them of the

  329. power of God's word here's what he says

  330. You must realize that no prophecy in

  331. scripture ever came from the prophet's

  332. own understanding it has divine origin

  333. it's not from the thoughts of men nor is

  334. it from the wisdom of man Proverbs will

  335. say this way the wisdom of man will be

  336. his

  337. folly in other words if all we ever do

  338. is rely on our own strength on our own

  339. ability on our own wisdom we will falter

  340. fail and fall short it may get us so far

  341. it may even take us to places that we

  342. desired but eventually we will fail and

  343. fall short of what God desires for our

  344. life Peter knows this as he receives

  345. this inspiration as God speaks to him he

  346. records us describes and he says these

  347. words have never come from our uh our

  348. own understanding verse 21 they've never

  349. come from Human initiative no those

  350. prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit

  351. as they spoke from God so the scripture

  352. being God brief it tells us that this is

  353. from divine origin this is God's voice

  354. to the world but it also means this it

  355. also means that it has absolute

  356. Authority now we can be honest in church

  357. this is a safe place for

  358. us I bet that if you thought long and

  359. hard about your Christian walk whether

  360. you've been a Christian for decades or

  361. or whether you are a new believer at

  362. some point in your life you have taken

  363. issue with the authority of the word

  364. I think about my own life one of the

  365. biggest things I take issue with

  366. sometimes is that we're to be

  367. compassionate and kind to everyone all

  368. the time now how many of us are

  369. compassionate and kind to everyone all

  370. the

  371. time we're not anger takes root

  372. bitterness can take over maybe it's an

  373. unforgiving heart but God's word calls

  374. us to compassion and kindness it has

  375. absolute Authority just as God spoke

  376. creation into existence and it obeyed

  377. his commands his word it carries Divine

  378. weight it carries the authority of God

  379. it means that this now becomes our

  380. standard for Faith for Doctrine for life

  381. and don't miss this this is important

  382. this becomes the standard

  383. not tradition not opinion not experience

  384. and often times we'll use tradition

  385. opinion and experience to interpret the

  386. truth of God's word but it's the truth

  387. of God's word that should be the lens by

  388. which we interpret our Traditions

  389. opinions and

  390. experiences so it's divine origin it's

  391. absolute Authority and here's what we

  392. all know and what all believers have

  393. experienced God's word as as his voice

  394. to the world is lifegiving in nature

  395. what does that mean it means that when

  396. we fill ourselves with the word of God

  397. it speaks life into

  398. US perspectives begin to shift Focus

  399. begins to transform and we become a

  400. people that live life as the New

  401. Testament will later put who have found

  402. wholeness and the completion of Joy why

  403. because God's word has breathed life

  404. into US it has brought

  405. transformation and change God's word is

  406. not

  407. static it's

  408. Dynamic and it es and flows through our

  409. life as the spirit breathes Vitality

  410. into the hearts of Believers so the

  411. Bible is God's voice to the world it has

  412. divine origin it it carries absolute

  413. Authority and it's lifegiving in nature

  414. here's the second thing that we

  415. find the B shapes what we

  416. believe it's going to guide inform

  417. influence and direct again our

  418. understanding of of who God is of what

  419. salvation is of what sin is of Eternity

  420. it all comes from the word of God go

  421. back with me to verse 16 I'm sorry verse

  422. 14 Paul says as for you continue in what

  423. you have

  424. learned and have firmly

  425. believed don't miss

  426. this you can't firmly believe

  427. something if you've not learned

  428. it which is why it is so important that

  429. we activ and consistently engage with

  430. God's word we can't know the god of the

  431. word if we don't know the word of God we

  432. can't know what God expects of us if we

  433. don't know his rule his law and his

  434. commands and Paul as he reminds Timothy

  435. in these latter years of his life he

  436. tells him continue in what you have

  437. learned and what you firmly believe

  438. if we are not

  439. anchored

  440. solidified and stand firm on the truth

  441. of God's

  442. word then we will like the author of

  443. Hebrews says be tossed to and fro by

  444. every wind of Doctrine by every cunning

  445. deceitful Lie from man from the world

  446. and from the culture how do we know what

  447. is

  448. true how do we know what is demanded of

  449. Our Lives because without

  450. scripture without God's word then we're

  451. left to rely on human

  452. understanding now I know I can't speak

  453. for all of us specifically but I can

  454. speak for Humanity generally and we'll

  455. agree with this we don't know

  456. everything we are not perfect

  457. we will

  458. fail and we will fail often we will sin

  459. and we will sin often so praise God that

  460. we don't have to depend on human

  461. understanding but he has provided the

  462. way so that our beliefs can shape us and

  463. inform us so that what we have firmly

  464. learned right here in the scripture we

  465. can live out as we firmly

  466. believe

  467. it it's been set this way the the Bible

  468. informs the mind so that it can

  469. transform the

  470. heart but what does that mean

  471. necessarily it means this that the Bible

  472. isn't just a

  473. manual for moral

  474. Behavior it's not just about changing

  475. the way you

  476. behave CU all of us can do

  477. that we can fake behavior all we want

  478. many of us in here we're faking it right

  479. now teenagers some of you you're faking

  480. it really well and your parents think

  481. that you're the model

  482. child adults some of us are in here and

  483. we're faking it right now and your

  484. friends your acquaintances here at

  485. church think that you got life figured

  486. out let me just tear the wall down none

  487. of us have it figured out

  488. let's just stand on that

  489. business which is why the gospel is so

  490. beautiful because Jesus steps into our

  491. mess he steps into our hypocrisy he

  492. steps into our sin and he says come and

  493. follow me take up your cross and come

  494. after me the Yoke and the burdens and

  495. the weight of this worlds will tear you

  496. down and take you to places that you

  497. never thought you'd find yourself at but

  498. if you come after

  499. me my burden is easy and my yoke is

  500. light and you will discover rest for

  501. your

  502. souls I pray that we would find rest

  503. church I pray that 2025 would be a

  504. year that despite the pain and the chaos

  505. we find rest in the way the truth and

  506. the life and so the Bible's not just a

  507. manual

  508. for good moral Behavior the Pharisees

  509. they behaved morally but time and time

  510. again Jesus challenges them and what

  511. does he say your hearts are far from

  512. me as the Bible shapes our beliefs the

  513. Bible invites us into a

  514. story it's a story that God has

  515. written it's a story that places your

  516. soul in the palm of his hand that that

  517. places your children your family your

  518. marriage your work everything about you

  519. it places it in the palm of his hand and

  520. Christ says I got

  521. you I'm with you I'll guide you I'll

  522. direct you I am inviting you into my

  523. kingdom story and don't miss

  524. this in God's kingdom story we are not

  525. the main

  526. character Christ is his mission and his

  527. kingdom praise God that we've been

  528. invited in to have a supporting role

  529. and that role is wonderful that role is

  530. vital it's important our role here in

  531. orang Grove Texas is important because

  532. it impacts lives for all eternity Your

  533. Role here at the Grove is important

  534. because it impacts the Next Generation

  535. to come but how can you be

  536. impactful if you don't know where to

  537. guide people that's where the Bible

  538. comes

  539. in I'm telling you if you want to make

  540. an impact in this life it starts by

  541. being shaped and formed by God's word

  542. but the Bible doesn't just shape what we

  543. believe here's what I

  544. love the Bible confronts us when we

  545. begin to stray away right that's the

  546. third thing that we learn the Bible

  547. shapes our

  548. character here's the hard

  549. truth none of us will naturally drift

  550. towards godliness

  551. that's not our default setting our

  552. default setting is to rebel against God

  553. is to live in Disobedience to him from

  554. the

  555. womb we are geared towards rebellion and

  556. sin left to

  557. ourselves we become

  558. selfish

  559. prideful and what the Bible

  560. does is the Bible acts like a mirror

  561. that as we gaze into its truth it begins

  562. to reflect back the areas where we need

  563. forgiveness where we need to repent and

  564. where we need to turn away from sin this

  565. is why the Bible shapes our character

  566. remember as God's voice as his word he

  567. has spoken it to us the prophets and the

  568. scribes they've written it down so that

  569. we can be shaped into the image of Jesus

  570. second Timothy

    2 Timothy 3:16

  571. 3:16 all scripture is breathed out by

  572. God and is

  573. profitable for

  574. teaching for reproof for

  575. correction and for training in

  576. righteousness think about Timothy's

  577. context he's pastoring a church the

  578. church in Ephesus and being surrounded

  579. by false teaching by by cultural

  580. compromise and Paul's reminding him that

  581. when culture veers off course when your

  582. life veers off course God's word the

  583. scripture is there to pull us back to

  584. the center this is where being in tune

  585. with the Holy Spirit is so important so

  586. vital so necessary for the Christian

  587. because it's the holy spirit that brings

  588. accountability in our lives Psalm 119

  589. says I've hidden your word in my heart

  590. that I might not sin against you a

  591. better translation it puts it this way

  592. I've treasured your word in my heart how

  593. of of us treasure the word of God or do

  594. or do we look at it like a chore like a

  595. box it just needs to be checked I did my

  596. duty for the

  597. day here so beautiful about the

  598. sovereignty of

  599. God Even in our laxidasical

  600. attitude the Holy Spirit still moves

  601. still works and God still speaks that

  602. doesn't excuse us from a lack of

  603. commitment and passion for God's word we

  604. must still pursue as he pursues us we

  605. must still treasure as he Treasures us

  606. and what the psalmist is declaring is as

  607. we treasure God's word in our heart as

  608. we store it up it is there to provide

  609. conviction guidance and accountability

  610. that the spirit will bring to light when

  611. we Veer off

  612. course some of us here this

  613. morning in just a moment we're going to

  614. have a time of

  615. response some of us here this morning we

  616. need to get back on course

  617. we have veered off because of Pride

  618. selfishness a a denial to lead our

  619. families well uh we we've embraced The

  620. Vices and The Temptations of the

  621. Flesh and I want to stand in the Gap

  622. with you this

  623. morning and draw your heart and your

  624. mind to perhaps the Holy Spirit

  625. beckoning you to get back on course to

  626. get back on track to to repent of sin

  627. and to say yes to what he has desired

  628. for you maybe some of us this morning

  629. you you've never placed your faith in

  630. Jesus

  631. Christ maybe maybe this is the first

  632. time you've ever heard the gospel

  633. whatever the case I pray that you would

  634. be obedient to the pooling of the Holy

  635. Spirit as the truth of God is made clear

  636. to you to get on the cour on the path

  637. that Christ dieded for to save you so

  638. that your character would reflect

  639. him you know the correction the reproof

  640. the accountability that the Bible

  641. provides it's not always

  642. comfortable but it is

  643. necessary it's necessary for us all so

  644. so here's the hard question are you

  645. allowing the scriptures to confront

  646. you I've shared this with you before

  647. um some of the greatest

  648. insights that that I've received from

  649. the word of God as as the Holy Spirit

  650. leads me as as as I Pastor as I preach

  651. as I study have been in moments where

  652. the scriptures have confronted my

  653. sinfulness and then I just have to sit

  654. and wrestle with

  655. it and it's much easier to just do

  656. this and say I don't want to do with

  657. it but it's wiser and it's better for us

  658. to be

  659. confronted and in our wrestling with it

  660. to be changed and transformed to have

  661. the word of God shape our character it's

  662. not always easy but it is necessary let

  663. the scriptures confront you let the word

  664. of God expose your

  665. sin every one of us in here we should

  666. desire to be a better husband a better

  667. wife a better child a better employee a

  668. better employer an overall better person

  669. let the word of God shape you that way

  670. let it confront you in areas where you

  671. need to be sharpened and here's the

  672. thing that the Bible doesn't just

  673. correct us and leave us there but the

  674. Bible invites Us in said it earlier

  675. invites us into a story where you have a

  676. role and a purpose to fulfill that's the

  677. fourth and last one the Bible shapes our

  678. purpose

  679. it's not just about information and I

  680. love good information that that's why I

  681. love to read I love to be filled with

  682. good information but but the Bible isn't

  683. just about information the Bible is

  684. about

  685. transformation it's about preparing you

  686. for Action preparing you for service to

  687. live out the gospel as you fulfill God's

  688. purpose for your life right here verse

  689. 17 that the man of God may be what

  690. complete and equipped for every good

  691. work that word right there

  692. equipped carries some deep meaning here

  693. here's what it tells us that that your

  694. life is not meant to be

  695. passive your life is meant to be

  696. engaging now that's going to look

  697. different for all of us in how we're

  698. gifted and where God calls us to and in

  699. our roles our occupations and and and

  700. what whatever it is that we're geared

  701. towards that's going to look different

  702. for us but we're all going to have the

  703. same goal and the same purpose number

  704. one give honor and glory to God number

  705. two invite people

  706. in the Bible shows us our purpose it

  707. shapes us for our purpose it equips us

  708. for every good

  709. work here's the thing are you willing to

  710. step into all of it through faith and

  711. obedience I am I am so grateful that we

  712. have a full building this week it

  713. blesses my heart thank you Jesus for the

  714. growth you this church is in my prayers

  715. constantly when when our family gathers

  716. at night when we when we pray together

  717. uh I'll almost always close my prayer

  718. this way Lord I I pray for our community

  719. and I pray for our church family

  720. that your hand would be upon them I am

  721. grateful for you being here but here's

  722. what I want to challenge you with why

  723. are you

  724. here what's your

  725. purpose I pray that it's not just to

  726. take up a

  727. seat but I pray that it's to engage in

  728. what God is doing through this local

  729. church and God is doing a lot praise God

  730. for your faithfulness I want to invite

  731. you into that story The Bible invites Us

  732. in to that that

  733. story so let me bring it all

  734. together the Bible's not just a

  735. book The Bible's the voice of

  736. God it's given to shape every part of

  737. our

  738. Lives it shapes what we believe it

  739. grounds Us in truth so that we can

  740. combat the lies of the world with the

  741. truth of God it shapes our character

  742. sanctifying us so that we can reflect

  743. the image of God God and it shapes our

  744. purpose it invites us into the story God

  745. is writing and as it invites Us in we

  746. find

  747. completion and equipping for every good

  748. work and here's the challenge I've said

  749. it already you can't be shaped by the

  750. word if you're are not in the

  751. word this the the church ver is

  752. spiritual

  753. formation becoming more like Jesus

  754. discipleship that takes

  755. discipline we're no strangers to

  756. discipline and we will be disciplined

  757. for the things that we're passionate

  758. about let's start engaging with God's

  759. word so that we would develop a passion

  760. for God's word it's not always easy but

  761. it is always worth it what is shaping

  762. you what voice or voices are informing

  763. your world

  764. view some of those voices you need to

  765. cast aside you need to turn away from

  766. and never go back

  767. to other of those voices maybe for a

  768. season you need to step away step away

  769. from that Circle of Friends step away

  770. from those profiles that you follow step

  771. away from whatever it is that you engage

  772. in so so that your passion for God and

  773. his word and his truth will be greater

  774. than your passion for those things let's

  775. commit to being a people shaped by the

  776. word of God Amen let's pray
