POSITIONED TO HEAR FROM GOD - Acts 10:1-8

to be looking at the first eight verses

it's an incredible story in Acts chap 10

veres 1-8 are part of a larger story

throughout the rest of Acts chapter 10

if you remember from last week we closed

Acts chapter n by looking at how Peter

stayed in the city of japa with a man

named Simon who Luke tells us was a tner

an individual who skin animals tan their

hides and sold them as His livelihood

that was his occupation and it may sound

or it may read like some random tidbit

of information but this is what we need

to remember when it comes to God's word

there is no random sentences random

words or random tidbits of information

but but every sentence and every word in

God's word to us has purpose it has

meaning and what it demonstrates to us

is God is now through Peter and we'll

read here in just a moment through a man

named Cornelius he is opening up this

gateway to fulfill his call and really

his prophetic Visions to bring the

gospel and salvation to the end of the

Earth Jesus came through the line of

Abraham he came through the line of King

David Jesus indeed is the Lamb of God

who takes away the sins of

the world and Jesus's mission primarily

was focused in the city of Jerusalem in

the surrounding areas and therefore was

focused on the Jewish Nation but it was

through and it's through the Jewish

nation that that salvation in Isaiah

Isaiah 49:6

49:6 goes to the ends of the Earth and

this is what we begin seeing here in

Acts chapter 10 and so what I want to

Acts 10 · chapter mention

look at this morning is I want to look

at how we can all position ourselves of

cesaria he was in charge of a group of

soldiers anywhere between 100 to 600 men

he was a man of leadership a man of

opulence influence wealth and a man of

discipline and His Story shows us that

when people are seeking after God God is

going to meet them in their seeking as a

matter of fact it reminds me of what the

Prophet Jeremiah wrote in his book in

the Old Testament when he says if you

seek God you will find God if you seek

God with all your heart but there's a

caveat there there there's an issue that

we run into because we read in the word

look at their life and say I've done

nothing but good I've sought and pursued

God in every point of my life I've

always chosen Holiness over evil

righteousness over my sin none of us in

this room can say that

so so how do we navigate that tension

how how does the gospel build a bridge

between Jeremiah declaring before the

people of God if you seek God you'll

find him and Paul in the New Testament

saying but no one seeks after God here's

where it is Jesus said this in John

John 6:44

6:44 that everyone who the father

draws he draws unto the son for

salvation matter of fact Jesus will uh

will also say it this way no one comes

unto the father except through me and

what that tells us is that God in his

Sovereign will and his Sovereign purpose

will draw you unto

himself so that in your pursuing and in

your seeking you might have an encounter

of faith and turn from a life of

wickedness so that your life would be

transformed and never be the same this

is where we find

Cornelius he's on the precipice of

salvation as a matter of fact Luke is

going to tell us that he was in a

position to hear from God and the reason

he was in a position to hear from God is

because he was living a devoted

life he was so in tune with the Jewish

faith and he had rejected the gods of

his culture that he saw something in the

god of Abraham Isaac and Jacob that was

worth devotion at this point in the

story Cornelius is not even a

Christian he's not even been saved

that'll come much later when God gives

Peter a

vision to go and preach the gospel to

Cornelius but at this point we see

Cornelius and Luke refers to him as a

god-fearer we see him seeking after God

and it's in his

seeking that he's in a position to hear

God so here's what I want to do this

morning as we dive into our Passage I

want to challenge you with the question

are you seeking after God and are you in

a position to hear from

God and if you're not I pray that this

morning would would serve as as a window

of accountability into your life that

whatever it is might be drawing you away

from a life of pursuit a life of

intentional obedience a life where you

are positioned to hear from the god of

creation

speak to you to guide you to direct you

to indwell your very life to indwell

your marriage to indwell your parenting

to indwell your work in every part of

your

life that you would be able to recognize

those areas that you need to turn from

and therefore be in a position to hear

from God because here's the reality God

isn't

silent God still speaks today now he

doesn't speak in a sense that he gives

us new revelation

God's revelation to humanity to the

World closed at the end of this book at

the end of Revelation everything we ever

need to know about God has been spoken

to us one in his son Jesus Christ two in

his written word from Genesis to

Revelation everything in between this is

God's word and everything that we need

to know about our King our Lord and our

savior is right here so when we talk

about God speaking to you here's here's

what we mean

we mean you being so in tune with the

god with the god of creation and so

indwelt by the power of the holy spirit

that you're able to discern the voice of

God in your

life to hold you accountable to convict

you to show you his will his plan and

his

purpose you know the reality is there

are so many voices that speak into our

life that pull us every which way that

want us to believe one thing over the

other but there's really only one voice

One Voice of Truth that we should abide

by that we should cling to that we

should listen to and that's the voice of

God so Cornelius this man of authority

this man of wealth of opulence and

influence we find that he's hungry for

the Lord he's what Luke calls godfear

he's actively pursuing god so let's read

his story beginning in verse one Acts

cesaria there was a man named

Cornelius a centurion of what was known

as the Italian cohort verse two a devout

man who feared God this is key we're

going to come back to this here in just

a moment with all his household let me

just hit the pause button there because

this is

incredible Cornelius was so devout and

he's not even a believer yet but in his

Pursuit in seeking of Truth he was so

devout so committed so hungry for it

that it overflowed from his life did you

catch this here in verse two what Luke

is telling us that this man Cornelius

was devout he feared god with what with

all his

household here's here's my prayer for us

here's the prayer for myself remember

when I preach I'm preaching to myself

when I'm studying the Lord's convicting

me and holding me accountable and and

and and everything that that overflows

from the stage on Sunday Morning has

been built up with wrestling and tension

in my heart and in my life throughout

the week and so I ask myself as I read

about this devout man who feared God and

was so devoted and so God-fearing that

his whole household recognized it and I

began to ask myself am I so

devout and so in awe and live in

reverence to the god of creation ation

that that it overflows in my life that

my wife recognizes it that my kids

recognize it that my church recognizes

it Dad can that be said of you me talk

to the men in the room for just a moment

can that be said of

you are you so

devout and live in awe and reverence and

and and and you have a healthy fear of

God we'll talk about here that in just a

moment that your household recognizes it

here's one of the problems with with

families in America today there is a

lack of Godly men who

lead and I would bargain to say that

that that most of not all the men in

here we mean well we have a desire to

lead our families well by virtue of you

being here that is my

assumption I pray that that would

overflow into how you worship at home

and how you lead your family in prayer

at home and how you show them what it

means to be in love with God's word at

home none of us are perfect none of us

have it all right right none of us have

it all together but we can pursue the

Lord with a healthy

fear with a healthy devotion that it

overflows into the rest of our household

let me

continue so he was a devout man who

feared God with all his household he

gave arms generously to the people and

prayed continually to God

here's here's what I recognize remember

is Cornelius a Believer yet no and he is

acting more Christian than some of the

Christians

today he's acting more Christian than

the religious people of Jesus's

Day verse three about the ninth hour of

the day he saw clearly a vision in a

vision an angel of God come in and say

to him

Cornelius he stared at him in Terror and

said what is it Lord and he said to him

your prayers and your arms have ascended

as a

memorial before God here's what we need

to

know the pursuit of God through the life

and the actions of Cornelius move the

heart of

God what we say what we do by virtue of

how we live our life in obedience to the

commands of the Lord they move the heart

of God and the angel declares to

Cornelius it's a memorial before

God God

recognizes what you're doing let's

continue verse five now send men to japa

and bring one Simon who is called Peter

he is lodging with one Simon a Tanner

whose house is by the Sea when the angel

who spoke spoke to him had departed he

called two of his servants and a devout

soldier from among those who attended

him and having related everything to

them he sent them to japa know what

God's people said amen Lord would you

bless your word Holy Spirit would you

stir our

hearts couple of things I want us to

recognize this morning and here's and I

want to posit three questions to us

that I want to challenge you to

prayerfully consider the

answers so that we would all be in a

position to hear from God that our lives

our marriage our family that everything

about us would would have God Central to

our devotion to our thoughts and to our

actions so that no matter what takes

place in our life we can discern the

voice of God over the voice of the world

we can discern The Voice of Truth truth

over the lies that are attempting to rob

steal kill and destroy devotion

fellowship and outright worship before

the Lord but here's here I want to PR

you for just a moment remember Cornelius

is not a Believer yet and yet he is

seeking after God he's pursuing God God

is drawing Cornelius to himself and and

here's what we'll learn not just here in

our passage but really throughout the

rest of Acts chapter 10 here's what we

learn is it good deeds don't make you

right right with

God Cornelius was devout but he wasn't

saved Cornelius feared God but he still

needed the

gospel and I think so often so many of

us we think because we're doing

everything right because we can mark the

boxes on our checklist of what it means

to go to church of what it means to pay

ties and offerings of what it means to

memorize Bible scriptures of what it

means to be a part of our Bible reading

plan this year that we can do all these

things but here's the question is your

heart in a position to hear from

God there's a moment several moments

actually throughout the life and

Ministry of Jesus where he encounters a

religious body of individuals we know

them they're called the

Pharisees the Pharisees were a people

that did everything

right if you had to judge whether

someone knew the Lord or not based

solely on the answers to by questions

and all things Christianity the

Pharisees they're acing that test every

single time but do you remember what

Jesus told them says you're whitewashed

tombs you're SE you're Children of the

devil you're you're seeds of Satan you

look good on the outside but you're

corrupt you're rotten you're dead your

faith is non-existent on the inside turn

from your

wickedness before Abraham was I am the

very thing that you desire is here right

in front of you and they murder Jesus

for

that for

accountability So Good Deeds don't save

you we'll talk about this here towards

the end of our message Good Deeds need

to be the Overflow of a faith that is

ever present in your life good deeds

need to be the outworking of your

salvation not a means to your salvation

so so here's what I want to do as we go

back through the rest of our passage I

want to look at three questions three

questions that I want us to prayerfully

consider so that we can ascertain if we

are in a position to hear from God I

want to hear from God I want you to hear

from God I think these questions are

going to be helpful if you're taking

notes here's the first one are you

hungry for the Lord do you have a hunger

that stirs you an ache in your belly in

your gut in your spirit that desires

more here's the thing every single one

of us has a hunger the question is not

are you hungry the question is are you

hungry for God because here's what we do

with that hunger we attempt to satisfy

and appease that hunger with the things

of this world which is why many of us

are living in sin we're living in sin

because there is this desperate attempt

to find satisfaction for the Hunger we

all have Solomon talked about this

hunger in the book The Book of

Ecclesiastes here's what he said God has

placed eternity in the heart of man in

another words Solomon recognized a

couple of things number one he

recognized that God was in control of

everything if you've never read the book

of Ecclesiastes it's quite eye openening

because here's what Solomon says he'll

say hey if your heart desires to enjoy

the things of this world to have fun to

live your best life now if you desire

all those things go on and do it live it

up Embrace everything your eye wants

everything your heart lusts after do it

but know this you will be judged for

it now remember this is a man who was

the wealthiest man the world has ever

known he was the wisest man the world

has ever known and I'll tell you why

because what conclusion does he come to

despite his opulence despite his wealth

despite his influence despite the fact

that he could have anything in anyone at

his command he says it's all for not

it's vanity it's worthless it's chasing

after the wind it doesn't satisfy the

Deep longing and hunger we all have is

your heart devoted to the Lord so

Cornelius is seeking after God and he's

seeking after God through

devotion he had recognized that there

was something to the god of the

Israelites that did not match up to the

gods of his

culture or to the things that he was

raised in and so what does he do he

begins to seek after the god of Abraham

Isaac and Jacob go back with me to verse

two Luke writes that Cornelius was a

devout man who feared God with all his

household gave arms gen generously to

the people and prayed

continually so according to the

scriptures what is

devotion a devotion is a healthy fear of

God a devotion is giving generously and

devotion is

praying often this was the life of

devotion that embodied Cornelius there

was a spiritual hunger that he felt and

it's one that we all

feel you have it I have it how are we

satisfied and appeasing that hunger CU

often times we devote ourselves to

fruitless and worldly

attempts if I'm hungry I go to my fridge

I go to my pantry or I'll go to the

store and I'll get something to satisfy

my

Hunger I don't go outside and start

doing

chores I don't do anything else that

wouldn't appease the hunger that exists

in me and yet so often why do we do that

in our own life when we're spiritually

hungry and we know the one who will

appease that hunger the one who will

satisfy the desire in our hearts and in

our soul and yet we attempt to fill it

with

worldliness are you seeking God in a way

that positions you to hear from God

and the thing is I think we've all

experienced this we want God to speak to

us we desire God to speak to us whe

whether that's we are approaching a fork

in the

road in some moment or area in our life

or we're looking for direction in terms

of what decision or choice we are to

make next we want God to speak but but

here's the thing we don't make time to

seek Him

daily we don't linger in that hunger we

we don't sit and wrestle with the fact

that I need to be disciplined enough to

pursue God and position myself to hear

from him you know the psalmist says this

be still and know that I am God there's

something in our seeking where that

creates a Stillness in our life where we

back away from the distractions when

when when we get away from everything

that would be distracting to us so that

we can be in a position to hear from God

this is what devotion does this is where

Cornelius finds himself through his

prayers through his generosity and his

reverence for God these are all

responses to a deep hunger that rests in

him so a couple of things one make

seeking God a daily

habit kind of survey your life this past

week this past month

what has your Pursuit Of God look like

daily it look differently for each of us

some of us our early risers that's when

we seek the Lord

intentionally some of us are nights

that's when we seek the Lord

intentionally some of us are truly

living out Paul's command in

Thessalonians pray without ceasing and

so throughout the entire day there's

this under breath prayer of seeking the

Lord and fulfilling that hunger with the

things of God the point is what does

that look like for

you are you intentionally seeking God

daily that's the first thing the second

thing we need to do is create space to

just sit and

listen void of

distraction and to just press into the

Lord so that's the first question are

you hungry for God here's the second

question do you

fear

God that word fear fear is connected to

the Greek word INF

Phobos and in Phobos talks about a

reverence an awe often times when we

hear the word fear in western

civilization we think of a fear that

causes you to draw back but that's not

the fear that scripture talks about and

we see this pattern just consistent all

throughout Moses when he confronted with

God in the form of a burning bush says

that he was terrified

but it was a fear that Drew him in it

didn't draw him back when Isaiah is

confronted with the Throne of God he

says woe is me because he recognizes his

own sinfulness but he didn't draw back

it drew him

in when we talk about a healthy fear of

God we're talking about not approaching

God

casually and I think one of the reasons

that that we're not in a position to

hear from God is because we have this

casual relationship with the

Lord and and here's the tension right

because God indeed is our friend there's

that language that is used in Scripture

that Jesus is a friend of sinners and

because we are blessed to live modern

culture and Western Civilization we we

often will approach our relationship

with Christ as this casual friendship

nothing wrong with it except the fact

that he's not just our friend he's our

King he is our Sovereign Lord who

demands our

worship and if we refuse it if the

people of God refuse to worship and R

him and stand in awe of him our worship

will come from another as a matter of

fact it's phrased this way that the

rocks will cry out in our

place because there is something that

God demand Dems from us and it is a

reverence and a fear that doesn't mean

that God isn't our friend or that we

can't be real open and transparent but

this casual

relationship must never be

approach without understanding that our

God is Holy that he is a king that it is

he who summons us not we who summon him

do you have a healthy fear of God go

back with me verses 3 and 4 in our

passage about the 9th hour of the

day he saw clearly in a vision an angel

of God come in and say to him

Cornelius and he stared at him in what

in

Terror Luke's referring to Cornelius as

a god-fearer Luke records this moment

when he has an encounter cter with the

Divine and he's terrorized but watch

this the terror doesn't call him doesn't

push him away from the Lord what does it

do it draws him in why because it's in

Phobos it's a healthy fear it's a

reverence it's an all and what does he

say he says what is it

Lord I'm at your

command I'm here I I I know enough of

the god of Abraham Isaac and Jacob to

understand the purpose of prayer to

to understand the purpose of giving

generously in this Divine encounter I'm

at your

command God's our friend but he's also

our King this unique type of fear draws

us closer to God not

further so this isn't a a Casual Fear

it's understanding the weight of holy

moments

and being so in tune with with what God

desires that that we are in a position

to clearly discern his voice in our life

church do you have fear of

God do you see him as king of creation

and all these encounters throughout the

scripture they lead to worship to

something more to something greater to

something far better than this world can

offer do fear the lord are you devoted

to the Lord encounters with God watch

this encounters with God are never

casual they're

holy and the reason they are holy

because God is magnified God is

glorified when we stand in

sing We don't stand in sing for the sake

of just lifting voices and sounding well

but we stand and sing because there's a

greater purpose behind it you I pray are

not sitting and listening because that's

just what you're supposed to do in

American Christianity but because you

have a greater and deeper desire to know

God

more do you fear the

Lord scripture says that when he started

at him in Terror he asked what is it

Lord and how how did the angel respond

your prayer

and your arms have ascended as a

memorial before the Lord listen if we

lack a healthy fear of

God then our life will lack faithfulness

to God so what do we do couple of things

one approach him with

humility understand that yes he indeed

is our friend but he is also our

king and the reason we can approach our

King as our friend is Hebrew declares

because of Jesus don't ever take that

moment or that truth lightly don't take

his presence lightly here's the last

question here's the one I really want to

press into we have enough time this is

going to get convicting will you obey

God will you not just fear Him will you

not just have a Devotion to him but will

you obey him

listen obedience is a necessity in the

life of a

Christian we have done a disservice the

American church has done a disservice to

the truth of the gospel because we have

separated Christianity from obedience in

the scriptures they're not separated in

the Scriptures it is assumed that if you

have faith in Jesus then you are being

obedient to Jesus this is why James the

brother of Christ will tell us in his

letter that faith without works is dead

it's not that

works are a means to

salvation but rather Works obedience is

a product of your salvation faith and

obedience are tied together we've

separated them this far removed from the

scriptures but when you look at the

truth of God's word if you're a Christ

Christian you're walking in obedience so

here's where it creates ATT tension

because we all go through Seasons where

we we are running from God we all go

through Seasons where we're living in

Disobedience to God but here's here's

where it creates a struggle all right

I'm I'm going to give you a subject to

have some good conversation over your

lunch this

afternoon

biblically if you are not walking in

obedience to the Lord your faith is

called into question

question if the outworking of what you

profess with your lips is not indicative

of obedience to the truth of the Gospel

your faith is called into question this

is this is why Paul holds churches

accountable in his 13

letters this is why the church in

galatia is like Paul giving them jab

after jab uppercut after uppercut

because he's bringing to the C Sur this

deep-seated Rebellion or this

deep-seated lack of obedience this is

why he wrote to the Corinthian Church to

let them know you lack in

obedience and it's not that we would

approach obedience through a legalistic

mindset like the Pharisees and this is

where the tension

exists because how can I live a life of

obedience I know I need to live life a

life of obedience but I don't want my

motive for obedience to be be one of

trying to gain God's

approval because God approves of you son

and daughter of the most high not

because of your obedience or lack of but

because of what Jesus has accomplished

through his life death and Resurrection

that's the

tension so then if that's the case what

role does obedience Play here's what it

plays that you recognize what devotion

means that you recognize that you can't

just live a casual relationship with God

but he indeed is King and he demands

obedience he demands Holiness therefore

if I have faith in him I live a a I live

an obedient

life not because I have to but because I

want

to you see the

difference Cornelius didn't have to live

an obedient

life he was in a position of well Fame

leadership and

opulence and he could have lived far

from the Lord and yet he chose to

pursue the

Lord I want us to notice here that

Cornelius doesn't hesitate to the

commands of God again it's not legalism

it's the outworking of Faith let's

finish this let me go back to verse

7even when the angel who spoke to him

had departed he called two of his

servants and a devout Soldier so are we

recognizing a pattern here in the life

of

Cornelius and Cornelius is here and just

a couple of verses is going to get saved

him and his whole household they're

going to be baptized in the Holy Spirit

and it's going to open the doorway into

the Gentile world to all the non-jewish

people to receive the Gospel here's a

tid uh tidbit of information this this

is taking place right now in

cesaria where is Peter in japa which is

about 30 miles if you recognize uh the

map I had a map then I erase it I didn't

think I would reference it but if if if

you know the map of of ancient Israel so

so you had cesaria up here you had japa

down here and then you had Jerusalem

over here and so you you can begin to

see the outworking of the Great

Commission and acts 18 beginning uh

Jerusalem Judea Samaria and then to the

ends of the Earth Peter is preaching the

gospel in japa japa is a port city he's

now gonna go and meet Cornelius in

cesaria cesaria was the headquarters for

the Roman occupation of Israel that was

a port city so now you have people being

saved becoming Christian Gentiles in

these port cities who now have access to

trade people coming down from Africa

Egypt Alexandria people coming from

Italy Turkey

Greece other areas of the Roman World

crossing the Mediterranean hearing the

gospel then taking the gospel across the

Mediterranean this is how the gospel got

to places like Europe this is how the

gospel got to places uh deep in South

Africa it all starts here with Cornelius

being in a position to hear from God

through devotion through a healthy fear

and through

obedience and too

often we hear

God but we don't act we we don't move we

we

wait I mean here's here's a moment of

accountability for me as

well we all hear God through

this and yet we don't move and and we

don't act and we we don't obey God

says go

apologize go ask for forgiveness and we

wait God tells us step out in faith

trust me believe in me and then we begin

to analyze all the details I don't know

how this is going to work out or God

says you need to surrender that sin I'm

talking to some of us this morning you

need to surrender that

sin and we take a step

back and there's a lack of obedience in

our life because we're too in love with

the

sin in our

life there's only

one one thing sin

accomplishes and that is the death of

your

soul that is to pull you further and

further away from the Lord but Jesus

comes on the

scene invites you into something greater

invites you in to something better and

by virtue of where we live by virtue of

the culture that we live in most of us

if not all of us we know myself included

what areas of our life we need to repent

from and we

don't because we are too in love with

our sin more than We Love Our Savior and

maybe just maybe you think one day one

day I'll turn from that sin when I start

to have the strength when I start to

feel like it I'll turn from my sin

here's the truth you never

will because your sin wages war against

your

flesh and unless you submit to the

indwelling power of the Holy Spirit

that's a losing battle every time this

is why Paul will tell the Corinthians I

beat my flesh into submission there are

moments there are days where I have to

remind myself I am greater than the

Flesh and the sin that is attempting to

creep back into the

surface the sin nature that we have the

sin that we battle with that is

something that we will deal with until

the day Christ

returns praise God that through his life

death and Resurrection we are saved from

the penalty penalty of sin as a Believer

as a son as a child of God I do not have

to fear separation from him because of

my savior Jesus

Christ and so he has saved me from the

penalty of sin right now I am actively

being saved from the power of sin there

is a war that wages inside every one of

us Paul tells us in Galatians it's the

war between your flesh your sin nature

and the spirit of God that dwells in you

who's going to win that

battle amen praise the

Lord God

is but listen that battle that battle is

won in your obedience and

submission to what the spirit

provides this is why it takes discipline

this is why if you remember last week I

said Christianity is going to be the

hardest thing that you will ever

do because it is putting to death the

flesh it is crucifying what I want want

it is crucifying the things that I

desire and often times that are contrary

and in Rebellion to the god of creation

so let's just take a moment just right

now let's just take a

moment just search your

heart and just ask yourself what what is

it what's sin in my life am I clinging

to am I holding on to that I just need

to release this morning that I just need

to to let go so that I can obey God so

that I can be in a position to hear him

dad so that we can be in a position to

lead our families and love our wives

kids so that you can be in a position to

obey and honor your parents and to be a

a Shining Light in the hallways of your

classroom what is it in your life that

you need to let go and maybe when you

think of sin right I want to bring some

clarification here maybe when you think

of sin you're thinking of something

major you think well you know roling I

don't have substance abuse I'm not

addicted to anything I'm not looking at

pornography I'm I'm not committing

adultery like I'm I'm overall pretty

good that's your attitude that's a sin

of

Pride and that's a sin that you need to

take before the Lord maybe it's over

consumption which is a sin we all need

to repent

from over consuming things it is okay to

enjoy and consume things but never at

the risk of consuming the Lord

of consuming his truth so so just for a

moment let's just search Our

Hearts Let's seek the

Lord let's stop hesitating stop

analyzing stop ignoring and let's just

be obedient just right now search your

hearts ask the spirit to reveal to you

what it is that you need to turn over to

the Lord and turn

from in your life

you know Cornelius didn't stumble into

obedience

it took

discipline and it takes

intentionality on our part maybe this

morning God is calling some of you to

Salvation maybe God is calling some of

you into

Ministry maybe God is

calling some of you to lay down whatever

sin Vice is burdening you stop

hesitating when God speaks move

let me close let me read you something I

thought was really

neat by paraphrasing it I won't do it

justice so let me just read it to

you some of you want to hear God's voice

but you are not seeking him

daily some of you have become casual in

his presence he is Holy and you must

approach him with

all some of you have heard from God but

you haven't obeyed it's time to act
