Passion Week 2025 - Holy Tuesday - Matthew 21:23-24

hey guys it is Tuesday of Passion Week

and for this week's lesson Jesus is

spending the day teaching in the temple

and while he's teaching the religious

leaders are coming up and questioning

who gave him the authority to teach and

to heal and forgive so we're going to be

reading out of Matthew

Matthew 21:23–24

21:23- 24 which says "And when he

entered the temple the chief priests and

elders of the people came up to him as

he was teaching and said "By what

authority are you doing these things and

who gave you this authority?" And Jesus

answered them "I will also ask you one

question and if you can tell me the

answer then I also will tell you by what

authority I do these things." As we can

see the religious leaders were not

seeking truth but they were trying to

trap him but Jesus with wisdom and being

calm responds in a way that silences

them and reveals their motives this day

reminds us that when we follow Jesus not

everybody will celebrate it not

everybody's going to accept the things

that we're celebrating and sometimes

we're going to face questions and even

opposition but just like Jesus we can

stand on the truth and walk in his grace

so today stay rooted and don't be

discouraged by doubt your faith is based

not on public opinion but on the

authority of Christ
