Burning Hearts - Pastor Will Roos

So today is part three of our final message and our series of

resurrection line. Amen.

Somebody said Jesus is alive. Yeah.

How many of you have enjoyed this series?

Praise God, you've. I mean, you've been here, 3/4 of

you. OK, those of you that's not been

here, I want to encourage you to listen again to those messages

last week. OK?

If you were not here, you must. Don't worry.

Relax. All good today.

This is your day, OK? This is your day.

We the last one. This is the one.

OK, So we left the last one the the last the hot one.

This is the hot one. We left the last message of the

series, the hot 1. So this one is going to be hot.

Is that OK? OK, It's OK because I enjoy some

Tabasco sauce and, you know, like, but it feels like you bite

into a chili pepper. Is it, is it OK?

Can somebody, I know some hot stuff in here today.

Is it OK if we go hot and we spice it up with some chili with

the flame, the fire of God? OK, Tell your neighbor this is

going to be hot. OK.

This is going to be hot. Yeah.

This, this is going to be hot. This last one.

OK. So I'm just excited about this

one. OK, so we're going to spice it

up some hot flank rolls, spicy. I really believe this world's

going to release a fire of God in this house.

Now I'm just giving you a little heads up to some disclaimer

before we go. This is going to be hot.

OK, before we get in before we OK, I know you came hungry, but

you know, it's OK. You're going to handle some hot

stuff. OK, OK, it's going to get hot in

this place. Get ready for this is a hot 1

because I really believe God's going to do something very

powerful because God gave me this basis and he said the title

of this Mace is burning heart. OK, burning hearts.

Yeah. Oh my goodness.

OK, burning hearts. So let me put that up and now

before we go any further, just thank you worship team.

Wow. Can we give the worship team a

heads up? Oh, wow, wow.

What an amazing club. These songs, I mean, they were

so in line with this message. I'm like, my goodness, these

lyrics, I can't help but burn. And this is already an connect

group on Tuesday already. And, and God's has been speaking

to me and I'm like, wow, Lord, burning hearts straight from

Scripture, Luke 24. Wow.

And it's just amazing how God just connects it all together.

And so wow, this is exactly where we're going today.

Burning hearts. Somebody say burning hearts.

Burning hearts. Amen.

And so, yeah, I mean, you see, The thing is, God's plan for his

people is not to be ice cubes in a fridge, just this, or I've

just survived and just get by and just barely making it that

God's plan for his people is to be hot, boiling on fire, full of

the fire of the Holy Ghost, full of our desire.

Who likes lukewarm tea? You like lukewarm tea?

Oh, I like hot coffee. Spicy hots on fire, boiling hot

on fire. That's what God wants for his

people. You see, The thing is,

lukewarmness went out with the 80s already.

We are already in 2026, so get with the time.

The times is no more lukewarmness.

That's way out being in the middle.

Oh, settle. We just tried to blend in and be

like everybody else. No, we are, we are on fire.

And I am not going to make excuses if I offend somebody

because I'm on fire burning for Jesus.

OK, so it's OK to be radical because that's what he wants.

That's what Jesus wants. He wants us to be hot, boiling

on fire, absolutely in love with you.

That's the first commandment in our entire Bible.

Love Jesus, all of your heart, all of your mind with everything

you've got and fire for Jesus and fire for Jesus.

That's the plan of God, full of the Holy Ghost.

So it's time to burn for God. I love that song obsession.

It's OK if we obsessed with Jesus, that's fine because he's

our number one. He's our everything obsession.

My heart hurts. We are not called to be ice

cubes, OK? We are not going to be in the

region call. We're going to be on fire.

On fire only goes fire. There's fresh fire in this place

today. So this is a word.

This word is a hot 1. I really believe it's going to

release hot fire. So Are you ready to burn for

him? Hallelujah.

Praise God, I've come to the right place because Jesus is

still looking for people, not perfect people.

He's looking for hungry people who comes with hunger, who comes

and says, yes, Lord, I want to burn for you.

Yes, Lord, like William Booth, Salvation Army, set the fire,

send the fire. That's what William Booth is not

Send the fire. So Lord burn set me ablaze on

fire. Let me be passionately on fire

for you. And I really believe this is a

timely word because God is rising up a standard.

He's pouring out fresh fire on his people.

He's rising up a standard against because the world is

pressure. There's difficulties and

challenges full of pressure and challenges and deadlines and

uncertainties. And so the days we're living in,

it's easy for the pressure that presses people down and it's

easy to leave you with a heart that is heavy difficulties and

challenges and the stress and whatever we're facing.

And so maybe you've come in and you've had a rough week and you

feel tired and difficult and you're carrying something heavy.

Listen, here's the good news. I've got some good news.

You're in for some good news. If you came in difficult with

carrying something, you do not have to live the same way you

came in. Listen, this is what I thought.

You do not have to live the same way you came in because there's

fresh grace in this place. There's fresh strength in this

place. There's fresh fire in this

place. Oh, come on, somebody, are you

getting this? Are you ready for this?

Hallelujah. Glory be to God.

There's fresh fire in this place.

So get ready, open your heart. Why?

Because God is about to pour out fresh fire.

Hallelujah. And so for the next few moments,

I'm going to show you something very powerful, some truth keys

from the very word of God, straight from Scripture.

We're going to go on a journey. Are you OK to go?

Go with me on a journey. So we're going to go on this

journey, Luke 24. We're going to walk with these

disciples on the road to Emmaus and this amazing chapter,

please, where this week spend time in their ways loaded with

revelation. I'm like, oh God, I'm going to

share all this in an hour or not even.

Like I'm going to get through all of this because there's an

amazing journey on Luke 24. So powerful, the resurrected

king. It's so powerful.

Please read it. This week.

I'm going to show you some keys how to shift and move from a

heavy heart to a burning heart from a heavy heart to a burning

heart. So she Are you ready for this

one because Luke 24 the road to Moses, these two disciples of

Jesus. It shows us something very

powerful. Remember Jesus the risen Lord on

resurrection day, the risen Lord.

That's when he joined OK these this and it shows us how Jesus

met them and he's so clear the Bible appreciate they were very

discouraged and he made them in the discouragement and I just

love the fact how Jesus shifted from heavy heart to burning

hearts. Oh my God.

And so flow with me today because I really believe

something powerful is here for us today.

So we've come hungry. Hallelujah.

And so let's read that we're going to do, we're going to go

straight into Luke 24. It is absolutely amazing.

I've just spent some time here and it's just amazing what the

Lord has been showing to us. So I'm going to let me put it up

here for us in this NIV. This one is the other version

and I'll go to that one. So it says Luke 24 verse 52.

Luke 24:52

So let's read there. It says they ask each other,

yes, he's through the disciples of Jesus.

We're not our hearts burning. Somebody say burning hearts,

right? So our hearts burning within us

while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures

to us. Father, I thank you for your

goodness in this house. Lord Holy Spirit, we welcome you

to come lift burdens, open eyes, set every heart ablaze.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray.

Amen. Right.

So this amazing chapter in the Bible, yeah, verse 2024, it

tells of the story of these two disciples and they are on the

road to Emmaus. Now this is long.

It's miles. It's not a 5 minute walk.

This is a long road to Emmaus. Now watch this.

He Emmaus. This is so powerful.

When God showed this to me, I was shocked.

I'm like, Oh my God, Lord, this is so powerful in the Hebrew.

Now you've got to go deeper because we're going to go

deeper. This is how we do research and

study the word of God in the original Hebrew.

This word mean that Emmaus, the meaning of Emmaus.

I'm going to show you something very powerful here because if

you go back to the Hebrew word, the root word from Emmaus, it

means burning place. Hello, somebody.

Are you getting excited? And I just love it because I've

looked at different scholars at different, different

dictionaries and it's amazing how this, this village, this in

Mayes is closely associated with warmth, with Hot Springs.

Micah, I love that picture because here's a place and

they're on the road and they journey onto this road where

these discouraged parts, it becomes a place of burning in

the presence of Jesus. I love the word of God.

I love the meanings and what God is showing us here.

Are you getting this somebody? So these two disciples, they are

walking with the Bible. They were sad and gloomy.

They were discouraged and they were talking amongst each other

about what has happened. They were not walking in

celebration. They were walking in sorrow

because listen, Jesus has just been crucified.

They lead at who they followed and believed in his God.

So yeah, they are on the Sunday. Friday Jesus was crucified.

He's now gone. They're all sad, they're all

gloomy. They feel very discouraged.

And they are talking amongst themselves about the heartbreak,

about what had happened, trying to make sense of what has

happened because that was not what they expected.

This is the leader, Jesus. They thought he's going to

restore everything and now he's been Crucible.

He's been taken out of the way and there they are on this road

and it's not an easy Rd. Their hearts were heavy and they

talking about these things. They turn their confusion about

the loss. And while they were walking and

talking amongst themselves about the problems about all of a

sudden Jesus joins the resurrected Lord.

Jesus walks and join in that walk and he comes right there

with them. And now the picture of this

story is Jesus made them on the Heavy Rd.

I love that how Jesus in his resurrectors met them on the

heavy the heart He was with them in the disappointment, he was

with them in the difficulty. And you know, this is amazing

because sometimes the miracle is not that the road or the journey

changes immediately. Sometimes the miracle is

covering that he's worth you, that he's worth us in the

journey. He's worth us in the challenge,

in the difficulty that that is that we understand and discover

his presence, that he's with you in the challenge.

He is with you. Somebody say he's with you.

So Italian neighbors say he's with you.

He's with you. I mean, that's what I love about

this message. On Resurrection Day, He

conquered the bride. He defeated that.

He rose up on victory. And what did he do on

Resurrection Sunday? He chose to walk.

He took a walk. My God, we can relate to that,

right, man? Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Come on. I love that.

On Resurrection Day, this is resurrected.

I've become in victory. He took a walk.

That's how he's not he's not panic, he's not stressed, he's

not faking. Oh, I'm behind schedule.

I've got to do so many things. He's like I that's what he he

took a walk. I love that church Rose from the

guy took a walk. He just took a walk.

And so it just helps me that Jesus is not just the God of the

mountain top, but he's the God of the road.

He's a God with us on the journey, on the journey, walking

with us. Now when I was younger, I must

admit I didn't like walking. I honestly, I, it was just too

slow for me And I'm like, I want to get there fast.

I think it's because I used to be a lot of athletics, sports

training, running. One essay is number 1.

And I did a lot of training. I was after school.

I was basically professional go fall into just running, running,

running. So everywhere I was just

running. And so walking for me is very

slow. It wasn't very clear.

So I never really loved. But what's amazing is over time,

over the years, it's tight. I have not actually I really

enjoy walking. I love I've learned to full love

of especially my morning walks first thing like this morning,

absolutely beautiful. I'm just out there walking in

nature in forest. I go for a walk, see nature, see

the deer, pray. This is one of my most amazing

times with the Lord where I'm just the prey walk where I just

go for a like a walk in the stroll or you go take the dog

for a walk and it's amazing because that walks.

It's like the Lord has taught me to slow down where I would have

easily like Mystics. I would not have noticed that if

I would have stayed in the rush, rushing busy staying there.

It's like the Lord showed me, listen, well, slow down.

You are, you are so fast, you're running.

Yes, you won s s, you're the number one in South Africa, the

fastest runner. But listen, I'm going to turn

that running and that sprinting from South Africa, I'm going to

turn you into slowing down and take notice because in these

walks early in the morning when I woke up first thing before I

said I just go for a walk and I meet with the Lord.

The most sweetest most encounters I've had with the

Lord where he's revealed himself to me is with walking.

Yeah, come on. Many of you can relate to that.

Mikey, you as well used to be put that on the connect group

and he was walking and then you and nature and all of that and

awesome shall share about that walking with the Lord and that's

why this story is just it just touches me so deeply because on

resurrection day, yes, Jesus in his resurrected form.

OK, so he can literally with a resurrected body.

So there he is in that resurrection.

He could have done anything he could have done anywhere go

anywhere, but he chose to go for a walk.

Oh my word, Hallelujah, somebody.

Now he chose to walk and he in a treasure on that day.

He could have done a million other things, but he's like, I

chose to walk and I'm going to walk with two discovered

disciples. 2 of the disciples who felt sad and gloomy.

I'm going to go for a walk. And so sometimes we think, you

know, that Jesus, we only show up when our faith is so strong

and we've got everything together, our attitude is right

and everything is perfect and Jesus will show up.

But this passage, it shows us something different.

It shows us that he meant them on the road of difficulty of

challenge, OK, of a road of disappointment.

They were sad and confused. And this so that means you do

not always have to have it all together and be all perfect and

be all strong for Jesus to show, show up and for Jesus to come

near and for Jesus to come close.

Come on, somebody. Are you getting this word today?

Yeah. So maybe you're here today and

you've been in a season that it's it was a season heavier

than expected. Okay, maybe it was a financial

setback or maybe a relationship that didn't work out and the

pressure was intense. It's been intense and maybe the

door closed and you here today and you just feel maybe you're

tired. Listen, the good news is Jesus

that never avoided disappointed people.

In fact, he made them. He joins them on the road on

that long, heavy, tired Rd. He joins them.

And so he didn't just stand at a distance far off and shouted

instructions to them. No, he's the one that comes

close. He's the one that comes right

near. He can.

That is our God. He steps into our story, into

our lives, into our business. He steps right into our

journeys. OK, so he's not far off.

He's Emmanuel at Emmaus. OK, Emmanuel, come on, somebody

say Emmanuel, come on. Say Goddess, we're fast.

Hallelujah. Come on, say that again.

Emmanuel, come on, shot. Goddess, we're fast.

And so the scripture says in Luke 24, watch this man.

This is amazing. It says as they talked and

discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and

somebody say walk. Yeah, about that.

On the resurrection day, on the resurrection Sunday, he goes for

a walk. I love that.

And he joins them. So I'm here to tell you, you're

not walking alone. Whatever journey, wherever you

are, you are not walking alone. He's walking with you.

Jesus is walking with you. In the mornings.

It's one of the most exciting things.

When I get up out of bed, I'm going to walk with Jesus.

I'm going to go for a walk and I'm going to walk with the Lord.

That is, I say you don't walk alone, He's walking with you.

Come on, say it with me. Say Jesus is with me, start

again. Jesus is with me, Hallelujah.

So you might not always understand how everything is

going to work out yet, and maybe you have been carrying something

heavy, but heavy hearts don't have to stay heavy because Jesus

knows how to turn a heavy heart into a burning heart.

Come on, somebody say it. Hallelujah.

Probably beat your car. Now here's the challenge,

because I was reading this story and I'm like, OK, Lord, what are

you saying? And so here's the challenge In

this story. Jesus was right with them, but

they did not recognize. Yeah, yeah, that's right.

So he's right there, but they did not realize because they are

so focused on what's wrong, what happened, They're so discouraged

and sorrowful and doubtful that they've missed the miracle,

right? So caught up in the

disappointment and the difficult and the harsh and all of the

discouragement. Oh, he's gone, Jesus crucified,

He's gone. He's right.

And they missed the miracle in that moment right there.

They did not recognize him. And so Jesus was there.

That reminds me of that old story that the man in this flood

came and he was caught up in this flood.

And so the water started rising up.

And so he decided, OK, he's going to climb up on the roof of

his house. And so there he was standing and

he's praying. He's like, oh, God save me.

And the water escaped on rising and rising and this flooding and

flooding. And he said, Oh God, I pray save

me. And so here comes the boat.

And so the people on the boat say we're here to help, come

jump in. And so this man say no thanks.

I'm trusting God, God will save me.

God is the one that will rescue me.

And so moments later, just a while later, here comes a

helicopter. And so this and they're like,

listen, we are lowering the rope.

Just grab hold of the rope and we'll pull you up.

And he said, oh, no thanks. I am trusting in God.

God will rescue me. God will save me.

And so the floods came any drought.

So when he got to heaven, he asked God, he's like, God, I

trusted you. I believe that you're going to

say to me, why did you not rescue?

What? And God said what I've sent

about. I have sent in a helicopter.

What were you waiting for? So that's a lesson for us

because sometimes God will send hell and the hell that he says

shows up different than what we were expecting.

He shows up in a different way, in a different way, in a pocket

hang up the different from the way that we were expecting.

And sometimes the presence of God is right there, right in

front of us. But it seems so ordinary.

It seems so like every day there's a boat and helicopter.

This is can't be God. This is just a boat.

And it seems so ordinary that we miss it.

It's easy to miss. Are you with me, somebody?

I want you to grab hold of this word today because sometimes we

think that it has got to be so dramatic.

Spectacular fireworks, fire and lightning and Thunder from

heaven. That is, that's God.

And we think, oh, it's God only, you know, when he's a thunderous

loud voice from heaven and he's like spectacular.

Oh, and it's this big huge sign from heaven.

And then if it's. But you see, here's the thing.

God sometimes comes in the quiet.

It comes in this small and simple, like a boat in a

helicopter. He comes in this simple things,

OK. And so he moves in different

ways, in like everyday ways, and he comes and the Holy Spirit

just gives you a nod. Oh, there's just that prompting.

Or it's just something simple, like a Bible verse, just the

script, just just one line. You're like, oh, you're on a

connector. If you just read this verse and

this verse pops up, something like that.

And God, it's in it. But it seems so simple and

ordinary. It's like just a verb.

It's like sometimes it's just a conversation, having a chat with

a friend and it's God grading you and before you know it, God

is God. He gives you that peace and the

pressure and he's, he's taking and he's saying things to you.

Sometimes God is the closest when life feels ordinary.

Oh, this is just very ordinary. I'm just going for a walk.

I have been surprised at my walks many times, and not just

by deer and animal and nature and all of that.

It's like, wow, oh Lord, it's like the Lord's just in these

ordinary walks. Just the walk.

Jesus. When he joined that too, on

their Rd. on their long road to Emmaus, He didn't arrive on the

spotlight, His face all beaming and shining in the resurrected

void. He didn't.

He did not interrupt in a dramatic, spectacular way.

Joy. He he just came as a fellow

traveller walking along. And because it seems so

ordinary, it seems so. They did not recognize they

missed, missed the miracle because it seems so common and

ordering. They missed the miracle beside

them. How often do we see the same

thing? We are so focused on the

pressure at work, the set back in finances, the stress in the

relationship, the problem we're trying to fix, so caught up with

the difficulty that we fail to recognize what God is doing in

our lives. We fail to recognize how God is

sustaining us, keeping us sister, protecting us, how God

is guiding us because we're so caught up and blessed with

things that we fail. And are you with me, somebody?

Because they were talking with Jesus and they didn't know it.

They didn't realize it there. They're walking with Jesus.

And sometimes for what you are praying for, the answer is

walking right beside you. There's the resurrected thing of

things, Lord of Lord, resurrected form miracles

walking right beside them. Miracle is right there.

Recognise it. Miracle is right there.

It's so close. It's so near, right there, the

prayer that I pray. And you can be so close to a

miracle and miss it if you are too busy focusing on the

problem. It's easy to miss what is right

yes, so busy focusing on the problem, talking about the

problem, what the problems so busy with them missing what God

is doing. So don't get so focus on the

problem. Don't get so focused on what is

wrong that you fail to recognize what is right.

You found what is God is doing OK because they are so

discouraged that Jesus died on the cross, but the fearing Jesus

is walking right next to them. My God, let's not get some focus

on the problems that we miss out what God is doing all the

problems in the world, but what about what God is doing in the

church? What about the miracle science

and wonders? What about the glory of God

where people are getting heals inside and century, but we just

turn on the news and see all the problems hang on.

If we just keep on focusing on the problems, you might miss the

miracle. Now God is still at work.

God is still for you. God is still on your side.

So even when life feels ordinary in common, heaven is close,

Heaven is closer than you think. How is it that they're walking

there? They did not know this, they

didn't realize it. Jesus, he is closer than you

think. Are you getting this?

Somebody you know? There was an experiment years

ago. They've done an experiment on

this famous musician and this guy, this musician, he can play

this violin, incredibly wolf famous.

So they took this wolf famous musician and they put him in a

subway with ordinary clams. Now that musician, that famous

musician, he, he played that violin.

That's worth millions. Now if people go to a concert

hall, they pay a fortune for a ticket just to hear the music,

just to experience the beauty of that music.

They took that same famous musician to put him in the

subway during rush hour. And the people walk past, too

busy, too distracted, owing where they suppose they just

walk past instead of noticing the world famous class music,

that instead of paying millions, buy a ticket to go to the hall

and listen to me. They could, but they pass by.

They walk by because of her distractions and they failed to

recognize and to realize this is a world famous musician.

Let's enjoy this music. Yes, life is presentations on

the road, but let's take a moment and enjoy the journey

because they are on this road on Emmaus.

Enjoy the journey. Yes, it may seem hard and

difficult, but who's walking right next to them?

I was in the subway playing that beautiful music, a very famous

musician. We can enjoy the music.

Or are we? Are we going to enjoy Jesus on

our journey? The joy in the journey?

And Betty was right there in front of them.

And so sometimes the the extraordinary is hiding.

And here's this camouflage because they are hidden and they

are concealed in the ordinary city.

Very easy to miss because it looks so common and we miss it.

And that is what happened on the road to Emmaus.

They were walking and they did not realize it recognized this

is Jesus. They didn't Jesus right next to

them in they met walking next to them.

That is why this has got to become our prayer eyes.

I love that shot. We started right off today.

Open the eyes of my heart, Lord. What a powerful pray, God, open

up my eyes to see your goodness, to see your faithfulness, to see

you every day in my everyday job, my workplace, my family.

When we go, open my eyes to see the goodness.

I'm still alive. Then we're still here and we're

still breathing. We have air now.

And we thank you, Lord, for the good things, Lord, that there's

still food on the table. Thank you for the roof of back.

Thank you, Lord, the goodness. I'll open up my eyes to see the

goodness. Oh Lord, please, I don't want to

focus on the wrong and the problems.

I want to see the right thing. I want to see what is good.

Now this is remember Jacob, this is shocking.

It says here in Genesis 28, verse 16, it says then Jacob

Genesis 28:16

woke up from his lip and said, surely the Lord, he's in this

place and I didn't know it. God is in this place.

I didn't know it. God is here.

I did not know that God is here. How many times in our lives that

this is true, that God was in that situation.

He was there all along and we didn't realize it.

He was in that season, in that conversation.

God was in that phone call, that conversation, right?

God was in it. God is here.

We didn't even, we didn't even recognize that was God, that

open door, that opportunity. And so we are too focused on the

finish line, on getting there, moving forward that we miss the

moment. We like the finish line is there

and we focus on that. And so we miss the joy in the

journey. And it's like, you know, I will

be happy one day when I live in that house.

I will be happy one day when that problem is sorted.

I'll be happy one day when I meet that person or when I'm

connected there. One day I'll be happy when that

problem is solved or that pressure is removed, and then

I'll be happy. And so we keep on postponing,

but later, how many of you later keeps on moving?

Because when you get there's another challenge and there's

another problem and another different and another reason to

postpone joy. Oh, so now I've reached this

goal and that's great, OK. But now is another one.

OK, so we're postponing joy. But Jesus wants us to be happy

and enjoy life every day, every day, even though on the road to

Mayas Jesus walking with him. And he wants us to enjoy life.

He wants us to enjoy the journey.

And so if we're not careful, we can spend our whole life waiting

for a future moment that we miss the beauty of this moment that

we miss the beauty of the music. That music.

Yeah, Jesus is walking with us. And so try a different approach.

Instead of saying, oh, it's Monday, I've got to go to work,

try this approach and say, Lord, I thank you that I have a job.

I thank you that I have income. I thank you that I have strength

and that I have an opportunity. Oh, oh, it's Monday, I've got to

go do a job. No, Lord, I thank you, I have a

job. Oh Lord, you know, I've got to

clean the house again. I've got to do the dishes all

these children. So what about try different

approaches. Lord, I thank you that I have a

place to live and not these kids are so busy.

No, I thank you that I have children that I can look off you

sometimes the kids hard work, but I have kids.

I have thank the Lord for kids for children.

Thank you Lord for I can clean. I have a roof over my my head.

I have food on the table. I thank you, Lord, for those

things that I have. That's that approach.

And so it's not pretending that life is perfect, that

everything's ignoring the pain, ignoring and denying the

pressure. It's just choosing not to let

the wrong blind you from what is right, not to let allow the

problems of this world and the difficulties and the challenges

blind you from the right and the good that is in this world, the

good that is happening, OK. And so don't get so focused on

what is wrong that you miss what is right, OK?

In other words, what I'm trying to say to you is look for the

good, Philippians. That's what Paul Apostle says.

And think of all these good things, Pierre, holy, those

things. So think of look for the good,

look for the good. And a good thing is simple is

that you are still here. I'm still here.

It's by the grace of God that I'm still here.

Yeah, I many times I've died, nearly died.

I could have died. I drowned in, in, in a Mogga,

nearly drowned in South Africa in a bicycle, massive accident.

I flipped over the car, go outside many times.

I could have died, but I'm still here.

By the grace of God, you are still here.

The enemy did not wipe you off. The enemy did not.

The battle did not break you. The pressure did not finish you

off. You are still here.

By the grace of God, you are still here.

You still have grief and air in your lungs.

Roof over your head. Hallelujah.

Somebody praise God. Yeah.

It's the grace of God. Now.

This is what I love about this text.

It's amazing. Jesus now, and he says listen to

it. He begins to explain the

journey. It's so beautiful how he does

it. Please, because of time, I'll

just give you a snap. He explains the journey and he

goes all the way. He takes it all the way from

Moses and he pulls it all the way through the prophets and he

brings it together and he's actually talking about himself.

He explains the journey from the scriptures.

And So what Jesus is doing, he's speaking, He's opening up the

Scriptures about himself. Now remember, they're walking,

they don't know it's Jesus. They don't recognize it.

They don't know this is Jesus. And he's explaining the journey.

Now I want you to see this. This is amazing.

It says here Luke 24, verse 27, it says in the beginning with

Luke 24:27

Moses, all the prophets, He explained to them what was said

in all the Scripture concerning himself.

So he's listening to them, to their disappointment in the

Proverbs, He's walking with them.

And then Jesus, he began to speak.

And so when Jesus began to speak, the word happened as are

the scriptures. He opened the scriptures and he

showed them the what looked like the end.

The Friday the Christian was not dead.

The Friday the Christian, that looked like the end.

That was the road to victory. Yes.

So he's explaining this in Scripture to them because

remember that morning they sorrow about what happened on

the Friday and he's explaining to them that was actually the

victory. And he's making this clear that

what felt like defeat was actually the victory.

And that's exactly what we need. We don't just always need a

change situation or change circumstances, an instant fix or

an instant answer to pray. What we need first is fresh

fight. Fresh fight brings perspective

through the word of God. And I want you to grab all of

this because this is what Jesus doing.

I want you to say because he's stirring the fire.

He's stirring fight, so he's sharing the scriptures.

And when the scriptures becomes alive, what's happening is all

of a sudden they are getting a new perspective on really what's

going on. Because remember, they are now

thinking they lost their master, they lost their leader, He's

gone. But now Jesus, that actually

leader comes and he opens that up to them and he explains this

to them. Yeah, in the Scripture, and it

opens them because what happens when the Word of God opens, it

strengthens your faith. When the Word comes, When the

Word opens, faith rises. And this is what Jesus is doing.

And this is very, very powerful when He opens the Word, because

that is why you have got to stay close to the Word.

You're hearing what I'm saying, Judge.

You've got to stay close to the Word in every season because the

Word will anchor you. The Word will steady you.

The Word will remind you that He is with you.

That's what the Word of God will do.

He will remind you that God is in control, God is for you, and

God is walking with you. That's what the Word of God.

And so, yes, Jesus, the resurrected King, and he's

opening up the Word that brings strength, that brings faith, OK,

that brings the fire. And that's what He's doing.

So listen to it when your heart feels heavy.

When your heart feels heavy, open the word.

Yeah, that's right. Let him speak to you.

When you feel down and difficult, you're going through

a tough time. My heart feels heavy.

Open the word and let him speak to you.

Let him remind you that Friday was not a defeat, but that was

the road to victory. Let Him remind you that Sunday's

coming, and in fact, today is Sunday.

And today I am the resurrection. I am the life, and I'm standing

here with you. Yes, I died on Friday.

It looks sad. But listen, I am here right now,

the resurrection. And so you open the word when

your heart feels heavy and let it speak to you.

And when that happens, 05 rises. Oh, when you go for your walk,

your prayer walk and you have that chat with the Lord, all of

a sudden you feel like, Oh my goodness, something is stirring

in me. There's a fire stirring in me.

There's a fire that's stirring in me.

And now Jesus walks with him. He listens, He opens the

scripture. And what's happening when he's

opening the Scripture? Because Jesus is opening the

Scripture to them. What's this?

On this long journey, they're walking, he's opening the

scripture opening. And so what's happening is hope

is rising. So all of a sudden, and this is

the whole muffle, the theme of this message where they say,

didn't our hearts burn? Because this is what Jesus is

doing. He's opening up the word and

faith is now rising. All of a sudden, the fire is now

is now beginning little by little is beginning to burn

again. And they're like, Oh my

goodness. And that's what Scripture will

do to you, the word of God. It will stir your heart.

It will stir the fire. And I watch this the moment now

they're coming close to the village.

And here Imas is coming. Now watch this.

Jesus is doing something amazing.

Eraser, right? I think he's acting like he's

leaving. Hi, Cleo.

Yeah, one of the disciples. Cleo.

Yeah. Come read it.

He acted that he's leaving, but he's not leaving.

Bye. What is he doing?

What is he doing? He's drawing the hunger in their

hearts. Remember now the fight is

rising. The fight that fire is stirring.

He's drawing, he's seeing, he's drawing something that's on the

inside of it. He is waiting for an opportunity

for them to say stay, oh, stay with us.

He's waiting for that invitation.

He still goes by that invitation.

What they have to say, that's not how it works.

Listen, Jesus, he will never force himself, he said.

He said gentle in a very, very gentle way.

He will never force himself on it.

He goes on invitation. He'll he'll draw near, he'll

come and he walk and he's pretending and acting like he's

going to the next village. Bye.

See you guys later. But really he's just waiting for

that invitation. He's not forcing himself on

anything the Bible says in Revelation 3.

He's standing at the door and he's knocking.

It's up to us if we open it. It's up to us if we he goes by

invitation. Now remember, they still don't

know this is Jesus the resurrected, but something is

starting in the hearts. Let me show you that.

Verse 3, Verse 20. Look, I stand at the door and I

knock. If you hear my voice and open

the door, I will come in and we will share our meal together as

friends. So Jesus is knocking.

Jesus. Yeah, Jesus right there.

And so he is waiting for somebody to open the door for

him. He's waiting for you to say,

stay with me, come into this house, come into the situation,

come into my finances, my health, my marriage, my family.

And that is what these disciples did.

They invited him in. They said, stay with us, stay

with me. I love that.

What a powerful prayer to pray many times.

Oh, it's beautiful. Lord, stay, stay, staying when

this long journey stay in this uncertain situation, this

battle, stay with us because the presence God is not just a

bonus, it's not just an add on and we know God is omnipro.

But I'll talk about the manifested presence here, OK,

because I've seen I've been in a viable meetings where somebody

gets healed of cancer and a person next to him is sleeping.

I've I've literally I've taken somebody to church and South

Africa are the top athletes. He had a massive burnt actually

cut off and, and, and he really needed, he was sleeping through

the entire service. He's like, no, God's not.

Yeah, he wasn't. But the moment there was prayer

and God touched him and healed him and his hamster was

completely, he realized God is in the place even we, we, we

went early. We went to the he said, oh, I'm

so bored. This place, this, this the he

didn't know God is in the place. He didn't know God's about to

heal him. Many times I've seen it over and

over. I'm talking about the manifest

praise of God that God turns up God's in the place and it's

like, Lord, open up my eyes and I want you.

I want you, Lord. That's and he goes, it's amazing

because he still goes on invitation on hungry hearts.

That's how he works. That's how God, he still works

like that today in our lives. Hungry hearts, Yeah, you got to

be you got. He goes with invitations like

invite the law, invite him in and say Lord come.

He responds to hunger, the invitation.

And so I want to tell you if you will make room for him.

If it's in a morning walk during the day, you make room for him.

He will meet you. Then I have that.

That's my God knows that like we book appointments on calendars.

We go on our calendar and we book appointments and all that

for various meetings, business meetings and all that.

Put on your calendar, book a meeting with God.

I'm telling you now, it worked. I'm telling you now, you an

invitation like I book meetings, even with ones What?

When we do a date night, we book a time, we book a OK, so you

book that appointment with God. You go on your calendar, you

say, right, God, I'll meet you then there many times.

Yeah. And this forest.

Yeah, this one, the forest, not the one at the lookout.

I can tell you over and over and over.

I've booked meetings with God and God every time shuts up.

He's never late, He's on time. I've booked a meeting book.

When you make time, when you make room, he'll meet you.

When you open the door, he'll come in.

I'm telling you, God responds to the invitation.

He responds, OK, this, this is exactly what we see here because

he will meet you there when you make room for him.

When you invite him, he will come in.

He responds because that's what he does.

When they the Bible says, when they invited him, they said stay

with us. The Bible, Jesus joined them.

He went into the house. That's the goodness of God.

That's the faithfulness of God. And so that brings us to

communion, because this is the beauty of communion, because

it's all in this chapter. Communion is an invitation.

It's a divine invitation. Are you ready for this one

church? Do you have your communion

elements? OK.

Because it's the beauty. Because.

So he came into the house and yeah, he's joining them at the

table. And here's something on the

table. It looks ordinary, just like an

ordinary meal. But that ordinary meal turned

into a holy moment. Yeah.

And so this is where everything changed.

This is where the whole story shifts.

This is now the turning point. OK.

This is where the whole shift takes place Because Jesus, the

Bible says Jesus took the bread he took and he blessed it.

He broke it and he gave it to them.

I want you to get hold of this because this is where everything

changes, the whole story. Everything shifts.

OK? Don't miss this moment now

because Abad says the moment Jesus blessed broken and gave

them the bread, suddenly they eyes opened.

Jeez, that long mild journey, that road, all of a sudden

they're at the table. This is so look, so ordinary.

Just branches all of a sudden, the moment they took comedian

open their eyes open and they recognize this is Jesus

comedian. What looks so small, so simple

can do this to our lives, can shift your entire life today,

completely shift your perspective, the way you see

things and shift everything in your life, in your career, in

your health from this. That looks so ordinary, but it's

a holy moment. What a moment.

Suddenly their eyes are, they didn't just talk about Jesus,

they just think about Jesus. They didn't just discuss Jesus,

they recognize here it is encountered Jesus, an encounter

with the Lord and revealing versus Jesus and their eyes

open. This is Jesus.

This is what I'm believing today for us today, this moment of

communion as a corporate party of Christ Jesus, body of Jesus,

that burdens will lift, eyes will open up, that this is your

suddenly moment. This is your eye opening moment.

This is your burning, your heart burning moment that when we

partake of the communion of the Lord, he is, but there will be a

sudden moment, heart's burning for Jesus.

Every heart be set ablaze on fire for Jesus.

So Are you ready to receive community together?

Because it says here Luke 2430, it says when he was at the

table, you want them into bread, gave thanks, broke it, began to

give it to them. Then the eyes were open and they

recognized him. Glory be to God.

So this will be a moment where eyes open.

Are you ready where hearts burn? Jesus makes himself real again.

So let's take the bread, the wafer, just the top pot.

So this is not a little ritual dead religion, OK, This is now,

this is the party of Jesus Christ that we are receiving.

So it's a divine invitation. So I want you to hold it in your

hand and then pray this with me out loud.

So thank you Jesus for the cross.

Thank you for your broken body. Open my eyes and set my heart on

fire in Jesus name. Now eat the bread together.

Father, let your presence touch every heart.

Turn heaviness into holy fire. Stir faith, set every heart

ablaze in Jesus mighty name. Now take the cup in your hand.

Let's open that. This cup reminds us of the blood

of Jesus, gives a new beginning, brand new life.

Now pray this with me. Lord Jesus, thank you for your

blood. Thank you that my sin is

forgiven. Thank you that the enemy has no

claim over my life. As I drink this cup I receive

life, abundant life, freedom, hope in Jesus name, Amen.

Now drink the cup together. Now lift your hands to heaven,

Father, let fresh fire fall upon every person in this room.

Lift heaviness, lift every burden.

Open our eyes to see. Let revival fire touch every

heart. Mighty name of Jesus and

everybody, come on, give him some shout of praise.

Hallelujah. Glory be to God.

So very quickly and closing, I just want to wrap this up half

of the table. So everything's shifted.

Everything change. What was heavy began to put he

was a turn around. And so they looked at one

another and they said, did not our hearts burn within us?

Oh, I love that we're not our hearts burning burning hearts

within us. Now they started the road heavy.

They ended the road burning. They started the road

discouraged sorrow. They ended the road on fire,

Holy Ghost, Fire. That is what Jesus still does

today. He turns heavy hearts into

burning hearts. And so heavy hearts can burn

again. What sin?

They can live again because Jesus is alive.

Your joy can live again. Your hope can live again.

Your faith can live again. Holy fire.

You can burn again. And so when their hearts were

set on fire and yeah, right at the end of the charter, I love

the last part. It says when they got on fire,

they returned to Jerusalem. Hallelujah.

They returned to like promise Jerusalem on fire like that on

fire, back to Jerusalem with the fire of God.

They have now been touched and changed.

They're on fire. They are carrying resurrection

power, resurrection witness. We encounter the resurrection.

We are burning with fire. And so they are back.

They are back on the right and they are returning to Jerusalem

with fire. Listen, they came.

They did not go back the same way.

And I believe you will not leave the same way.

You can eat, OK? You'll leave with the fire of

God. Listen, when Jesus touches you,

your eyes don't stay the same. When you have a really

comfortable Jesus, you don't stay the same.

They were changed, hearts set on fire, awakened ablaze on fire,

fresh fire and so really uncomfortable Jesus.

It will put fresh fire in your life.

It will turn you up, will set your hot boiling.

And I believe that you are not living the same way.

You came into this place. You might have come in here

carrying something heavy, something.

But listen, you are leaving this place with Holy Ghost fire,

fresh fire. You are living different.

You are living on fire, boiling on, on fire.

Hallelujah. So the same Jesus who walk with

those disciples are walking with you, the very same Jesus who

open up their eyes. He's opening up your eyes right

now for fairy sake, Jesus, who set their hearts on fire.

They set it your hearts on fire right now the very same pieces

that turn their lights around is turning your lights around.

So lift your face, lift your expectation.

This is when your fire comes back.

Somebody get up, give God surprise.

So right now, if you came in carrying disappointment or grief

or loss or heaviness, if you say, Lord, set my heart on fire.

If you say, open up my eyes, lift your hands right now, lift

both hands and say this with me. Say, Lord, open my eyes, stay

with me, set my heart on fire. Now put your hand on your heart

right now. Because the very same Jesus walk

with those two disciples is here in this room right now.

The Saint Jesus who walked on the road to Mayas is with, is

with, is with you right now. He's walking in this room right

now. The same Jesus is here touching

hearts. Heavy hearts can burn again.

So Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray for every person right

now under the sound of my voice. Let every burden lift, break

every heaviness for heal every disappointment.

Lord, strengthen where we saw. Restore joy, restore faith,

restore hope and dreams, restore holy fire.

Now Lord turn every heart burning burning for your Jesus

Central Church on fire. Let Bracken on burn for Jesus,

blade our nation, the nation of UK.

Burn for Jesus all the way from the all the way through into

businesses. Every school will be set to

blame. Now.

Receive that, receive peace, receive fire, receive strength,

receive hope. Now I want you to declare this

with faith. Say I will not leave the same

way I came. This is where my fire comes

back. My heavy heart is becoming a

burning heart. What fell cold will burn again.

Jesus is alive and I will live on fire.

I declare my heart burns for you Jesus.
