-
So the title of today's message moved by the Spirit, I really
-
believe this is a word for today, for this hour that we are
-
living in, because the times we are living in, we are living in
-
times of pressure, confusion, destruction, where there's so
-
many voices that wants to pull people to different the wrong
-
directions. But the children of God, we are
-
not called to be pulled by the culture.
-
We are not called to be pushed by fear or controlled by the
-
flesh. We are called to be moved by the
-
Spirit, to be led by the Spirit of God.
-
And that is why we need to learn how to move when the Spirit
-
leads. Amen.
-
And so let's go to our main text today.
-
It's in the book of Romans, chapter 8.
Romans 8 chapter mention
-
Let's go there, Romans 8 and verse 14.
-
And for those who are led by the Spirit of God, we are talking
-
about the Spirit LED life are the children of Godfather.
-
We thank you for your presence. Holy Spirit, come and have your
-
way. You're welcome.
-
Move, lead us. Move with every heart in this
-
place, every home, every city in our nation.
-
Move, Holy Spirit, stir us, guide us, touch us, move us
-
forward. Lord, Oh Lord, we are ready to
-
follow in the mighty name of Jesus.
-
And everybody said Amen. Now Romans 8, it tells us that
-
being led by the Spirit is not just for a select few like
-
pastors or like leaders. It's not just for a select group
-
of people being led by the spirits, not just for the Super
-
spiritual people, it's for every child of God.
-
It's the birthrights of every child of God.
-
So if you're a child of God, you are born to be led by God.
-
That's your identity as a child of God, to be led by the Spirit
-
of God. Now, I love the way the
-
amplifier puts it this way. He says it in, he says that for
-
all who are allowing themselves to be laid by the Spirit of God
-
are the sons of God. So allowing themselves to be
-
LED. Now allowing ourselves to be
-
LED, that means that we have to yield, we have to respond, we
-
have to move with him. OK, So being led by the Spirit
-
of God, it means that I don't stay stuck when He's calling me
-
forward. Being led by the Spirit of God,
-
it means simply moved by the Spirit of God.
-
It's the same word. And so this message today is not
-
just only about hearing the message, but this is about
-
responding. This is about moving with God,
-
OK? And so when he moves, we move
-
because God didn't just save you from something.
-
God saved you to follow someone. Oh, I feel that.
-
I feel the power of God. Something is shifting in this
-
place. My Lord, thank you, Jesus, for
-
the praises of God. Hallelujah.
-
And so get ready somebody, because this is a moving forward
-
season. I'm bringing you the word of the
-
Lord today. I'm sharing with you what God
-
showed me. He said this is your moving
-
forward season. Come on, grab hold of this word.
-
This is your moving forward season today.
-
This is the season. Yes, Lord, wherever you lead,
-
I'll go. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
-
That's the season we are in. OK, Hallelujah.
-
Not a lot of vitamins, but let's just moving right along because
-
I have made-up my mind, OK? I'm just bold and I'm just
-
saying to you right now I've made-up my mind.
-
I'm ready to move. I am ready to move by the Spirit
-
of God. Hallelujah, somebody.
-
I'm not stay. I'm not going to stay stuck.
-
I'm ready to move where God says listen, go move, dude.
-
I'm ready to move. I'm ready to move.
-
And so I want you to say that somebody say I'm ready to be
-
moved by the Spirit. Say it again.
-
I'm ready to be moved by the Spirit.
-
Now give him some praise. If you are ready to be moved by
-
the Spirit, Are you ready to move?
-
Because there's a mighty move of God in this place.
-
And so we see this clearly in the story of Israel.
-
They were in bondage and slavery in Egypt for generations.
-
And before Israel was ever stepped into freedom, God gave
-
them an instruction. And I love what God told.
-
God told them get ready to move. They've been in bondage for 400
-
years, slavery. And I love it when the move of
-
God breaks out in a place. I love it when God comes on the
-
scene and Gods move and he says listen, get ready to move my
-
God. I feel them waiting.
-
So that brings me to my first point.
-
Number one, for those who are taking notes, number one, get
-
ready to move. Tell your neighbor and say get
-
ready to move. God spoke to the Israelites
-
while they were still in Egypt, surrounded by bondage, hardship
-
and slavery. And God spoke to them in that
-
moment and he said get ready to move, OK?
-
He's like, listen, He told them, and I'm going to show you in the
-
verse. He told them to get dressed and
-
get ready because freedom is coming.
-
And so they had to prepare like freedom was already on their
-
way. Exodus chapter 12, verse 11.
-
This is how you are to eat it with your cloak tucked into your
-
belt, your sandals on your feet, your staff in your hand.
-
Eat it in haste. It's the Lord's Passover.
-
He said when you eat this meal, don't eat casually.
-
This is just not another night in Egypt.
-
I want you to eat prepared and ready with such a sense of
-
urgency. Eat with your cloak tucked in.
-
Eat with the signals on your feet.
-
Eat with the staff in your hands.
-
In other words, don't dress to stay, dress to leave my car.
-
Come on, somebody. So don't dress like you are
-
staying. Dress like you are leaving trace
-
up, get ready, get shoes on, get Oh my God.
-
Because when God moves, he wants his people to be ready to move
-
with him. And God's like I'm ready to
-
move. I'm ready to bring you out.
-
I'm ready to bring you out of Egypt.
-
And that's what God said. I'm ready to move.
-
I'm ready to I'm ready to break Pharaoh's grip, the hold on your
-
life. I'm ready to break off the Palm
-
Beach. I'm ready to break off the
-
slavery, the hardship. I'm about to shift your season
-
and when I move I want you to be ready.
-
And I don't want you standing around searching for your
-
sandals. When I'm move, when I'm ready to
-
move, I don't want you standing around searching for sandals.
-
I want you to be ready. OK.
-
In other words, the spirit LED life is a ready life.
-
It's like get your shoes on. Somebody say get your shoes on,
-
Get your shoes on. OK, Parents will understand this
-
one. OK.
-
If you have children, you know, when it comes to the children,
-
getting the shoes on is not a two-minute job.
-
It's a full time ministry. OK, Thank you for that one.
-
Amen. Yeah, it's a full time military.
-
Just get the shoes on. Come on.
-
I'm telling you now. Ask my wife.
-
She's right. Yeah, it's full time ministry.
-
You say come on out, put your shoes on.
-
And then 5 minutes later he's still standing there with only
-
one sock on and holding a Lego man and he's saying where are we
-
going, Daddy, where are we going?
-
And I'm like, OK, so another one.
-
Then he says, well, I cannot find my shoes, but he's standing
-
right next to it. They stay right there.
-
I mean, just the shoes. Well, the shoes are right there
-
next to you. And then finally we get to the
-
door and I'm like, oh, yes, finally we're ready to go.
-
And you just when you think, praise God, we are leaving where
-
someone says, oh, I need the toilet.
-
You know, this is when you really know whether you have the
-
fruit of the Spirit. Just get kids and you'll have
-
you want some patience, OK, Fruit of the spirit, patience,
-
kindness, love, Joker. Can we talk about the fruits of
-
the spirit a little bit? Have kids.
-
Come on, there's my you want some patience, have some kids
-
and and you'll give quickly. Find out whether you are in the
-
flesh or in the fruit of the spirit.
-
And I'm standing there the door, I'm like, OK, you need the
-
toilet, right? OK, now fruit of the Spirit,
-
Lovejoy, peace, kindness, patience, and we're just going
-
to reply. Fruit of the Spirit.
-
Yeah. So God told Israel, get your
-
shoes on. I'm about to move and I want you
-
to be ready to move with me. Come on, somebody.
-
OK. And so that is the word for
-
somebody to do. Yeah, testing 1-2, three,
-
testing 123. Because maybe you have been
-
praying for movement. You've been asking God, God, I
-
need to move. Praying for movement.
-
Now. Have you prepared for movement?
-
You've been asking God for some doors, open doors, business, job
-
opportunities. You are with open doors now.
-
Are you ready to walk through those doors?
-
Have you prepared? Are you ready?
-
OK, Because you have got to be ready.
-
And so you say, Lord, my shoes on.
-
Somebody say my shoes on. OK so Israel had been bondage
-
for generations, 400 years. Pharaoh controlled they
-
schedule, he controlled their job, their labour, their
-
children, even their identity. Pharaoh controlled it.
-
So slavery, they know about pressure, hardship, difficulty,
-
bondage. But what I love about the fact
-
God comes in and God says I'm about to move and I don't care
-
how big and strong Pharaoh is. I don't care the control and the
-
bondage, whatever it is. And I don't care how long
-
there's been bondage. I'm about to move and I'm God.
-
And so when God says I'm about to move and step in, God opens
-
the door and he makes a way where there is no way.
-
And we have seen that in the Red Sea.
-
There was no way and he made a way.
-
That's our God. And God steps in.
-
He's like, listen, I am going to bring my people out, release the
-
plagues, breakthrough and he brings his people out and the
-
God that we serve. He's still the same yesterday,
-
today and forever. The same God that brought them
-
out of 400 years of bondage is the same God that brings these
-
people out today out of sickness, out of shame, out of
-
sin, out of addictions and fear. Any pattern of the old God can
-
break any bondage, any addiction, any difficulty.
-
God, when God decides to move, he can break it straight away.
-
Hallelujah, somebody God is saying when God steps in, he
-
says listen, get ready, get your shoes on, expect movement is
-
coming. And I'm sensing by the Spirit of
-
God there is an anointing in this place to bring about
-
movement in your life, in your family, in your finances, to
-
bring about a shift, to bring about a movement to shift.
-
Because when the Spirit of God moves, miracles happen.
-
He moves and he shifts you out of fear, into freedom, out of
-
fear into faith and he breaks the bondage and he brings you
-
out. I really believe there's a move
-
of God in this place today. I really believe that there is
-
anointing to break the yoke, to break the bondages, anointing of
-
movement of God, spiritual move of God.
-
We are not staying stuck, OK. We are coming out of the old
-
limitations, going around the same old, same old, same
-
problems, same old. No, I don't care if it's been
-
400 years. God, we are coming out.
-
We are coming out of bondage. We are coming out of old cycles
-
and patterns that has held us back.
-
Somebody says bringing me out and I'm taking my family with me
-
as well. Just by the way, the devil
-
cannot have my children. Hell cannot have my family.
-
I'm just telling you, I'm bringing my family with me.
-
My calling on purpose. Hell cannot have my purpose and
-
my calling. Come on somebody.
-
This is a move of God. God is moving in this place,
-
moving in here and so we are not staying the same.
-
We are not staying stuck. We're not staying.
-
Yes, OK, so we are moving forward.
-
It's time to move. Somebody say it's time to move.
-
Come on, give God some price. It's time to move.
-
It's time to move. It's time to move.
-
It's time to move. Hallelujah.
-
And that's the Spirit. Late Life.
-
OK, the Lord, if Lord, if you move, we move.
-
Lord, if you lead, we'll follow. Lord, if you say God, I'll go.
-
Amen. And so all throughout Scripture
-
we see how God has LED his people and we see this out with
-
the Israelites. Amazing how God, he came in, he
-
moved and he brought, you know, his people out.
-
And God came in with power, with a mighty hand, mighty move.
-
He sent the plagues. He opened the right sea.
-
How powerful is that? And God set his people free.
-
And then he started going before and ahead of his, and he started
-
leading them forward. God is the God.
-
He's always leading his people. That's our God, the God we
-
serve. He leads us.
-
And I want you to see this in Exodus 1321.
-
By day, the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to
-
guide them on their way. So he's guiding them and by
-
night a pillar of fire. Somebody say follow the fire.
-
Oh, I feel that. Follow the fire to give them
-
light so that they could travel by day or night.
-
Neither the pillar of cloud by day or the pillar of fire by
-
night left its place in front of the people.
-
So the Lord went ahead of him. That means God is going in
-
front, ahead. He's leading his people, His
-
people. They are not alone.
-
They're not on their own. They know they didn't just come
-
out. God brought them out.
-
And now all of a sudden they have to figure it out by
-
themselves. Which way are we going?
-
Which route, which direction? The Bible says God let them.
-
And I love that about our God because by day he was the cloud,
-
and then at night He was a fire. Hallelujah.
-
Fire followed the fire. Yeah, that is so powerful.
-
Followed up, my God. And so then during the day at
-
the heat, he was their covering. And then at night when it's
-
dark, he was their light. I say your God is guiding them.
-
He's leading them. OK, so God didn't just bring
-
them out and say, OK, good luck, you're on your own now.
-
I got you out of bondage, Egypt or OK, now you're on your own.
-
No, God didn't say no. You got to figure it out all on
-
your own. God came with His presence.
-
He gave them the presence of God and lead them.
-
Hallelujah, somebody. And so I came to tell somebody
-
today that God didn't bring you this far all of a sudden now to
-
leave you the same God who brought us out.
-
OK, well, lead us through. So it didn't come this far.
-
And now all of the and now God all of a sudden leaves you now
-
he's still leading, He's still covering you, He's still
-
ministry, He's still moving by his spirit.
-
And so I like it because when I travel, unless I put my post
-
code in, maybe it's on Google Apps, any navigation system, I
-
put the address in. Now what I like to do is when I
-
put the address in, I like to see right where I'm going.
-
I want to see the full map because I want to see, OK,
-
exactly which exits, which offerings, where am I going to
-
take the next offset? And I also want to see where am
-
I going to maybe any delays. So for me, it's so important to
-
see the full overview. I want to see the, you know,
-
whatever the Google Apps or sat NAV, whatever navigation system.
-
And so, yeah, I want to see exactly because, you know, that
-
we like that because it keeps us comfortable.
-
Like wow, I can see the whole picture, how together.
-
But when God let Israel out, he did not give them a full map,
-
OK? He did not give them the full
-
details, the full route, the full map, OK.
-
And so God LED them step by step.
-
And according to the Bible, the Bible says that by his presence,
-
Oh Hallelujah, I love that song. But his presence, the air I
-
breathe is presence. That's all I need is a presence.
-
Because sometimes now the root that God chooses, OK, it doesn't
-
always make sense. And so there will be moments in
-
your life where you're like, Lord, why is this taking so
-
long? Why this delay?
-
Why this season in my life? Why this wilderness?
-
And it's like, why this root? Because it just doesn't make
-
sense. Why this way?
-
But when the root doesn't make any sense, don't panic if it
-
doesn't make sense. We God is taking us.
-
Listen, trust him. Why?
-
Because the Spirit knows the way.
-
My God, Somebody say the Spirit knows the way.
-
The Spirit knows the way. Oh my God.
-
Yeah, the Spirit knows the way. And so there's something that we
-
have to learn in this Spirit LED life that it's OK not to know.
-
Now that's hard for us because we like to have all the full
-
details. It's like, Pastor, you say,
-
well, it's OK not to know because we like to have all the
-
details, all the answers. We want the answers how it's
-
going to work out. We want the details.
-
We want the full map. We want to see where, where, how
-
long it's going to take. But faith doesn't always get the
-
full details. OK, Faith.
-
Trust the one who knows. Oh, come on.
-
Somebody that's faith. Trust the one who knows.
-
Yeah, that's right. Now picture this.
-
Here's Moses, the Israelites. Now I can imagine people asking,
-
OK, Moses, Right. Where are we camping, Moses?
-
Where's the food coming from, Moses?
-
Where? Where's the water coming from?
-
Moses? And Moses says, I don't know.
-
And somebody might be thinking, what kind of a leader is he?
-
What kind of a leader is Moses? He doesn't know anything.
-
But Moses knew the most important thing, the presence of
-
God, the presence of God. They are the presence of God.
-
He knew the most important thing, the presence of God, the
-
leading of God. Hallelujah.
-
Yeah, that's it. Because just because you don't
-
have the full map, it doesn't mean God's lost.
-
Moses was comfortable not knowing because he trusted God
-
was leading him. Moses was comfortable not
-
knowing. Full map.
-
How are we getting to the Promised Land?
-
Because he trusted the one who was leading.
-
He knew the presence of God. Come on, somebody, are you with
-
me? And so sometimes we think it's a
-
lack of faith to say, well, I don't know.
-
I think it's a lack of faith. I don't know.
-
I don't have all the answers, all the details.
-
We think it's no. But real faith says, I don't
-
know the way, but I know the Spirit of God who knows?
-
That's real faith. I don't know, but I know him.
-
And he knows where he knows. Yeah.
-
Hallelujah. So take the pressure off.
-
You don't have to know everything.
-
Praise God. Yes, You can.
-
Just relax. You don't have to know
-
everything. OK.
-
Because God knows. Yeah.
-
We don't have to know and figure it all out.
-
What's going on? This and that.
-
And the house is going to work out.
-
No. God knows.
-
Yes. And God is going to be before
-
you, ahead of you. OK.
-
And he's got easy. Hallelujah.
-
Somebody who knows the way. Yeah.
-
And so God gives you faith for the next step.
-
OK, so we want the full map, the full route.
-
OK, Lord, show me. Who am I going to meet?
-
Lord, this relationship. Who am I going to meet?
-
Lord, show me where the money is going to come from.
-
I want to know. I want the Lord.
-
I want to know where the money is going to come from.
-
Lord, I want to know when the breakthrough is going to come.
-
Oh, God, give me the full map. 50, please.
-
The next 50. Nah.
-
OK. You see, God doesn't show us the
-
whole journey. He doesn't give you your 50
-
years ago. Nah, he doesn't now.
-
God has the full map. He knows.
-
He knows the beginning and the end.
-
Is God OK? That's the almighty God.
-
So he knows every door, He knows every battle in every miracle.
-
He knows every connection. He knows every breakthrough.
-
He knows the beginning from the end.
-
But he only gives you the next step.
-
What is a lamp? So he only gives you light for
-
the next step, not for the next 50 years.
-
He only shows you the next step. OK.
-
And so that's how he leads us. He leads you one step because
-
God, he wants us to trust him. And so that brings me to my next
-
point. For those who are taking notes
-
#2 move into the unknown. The unknown, yeah.
-
OK. Even when you don't have a map
-
moving to the unknown, Right. So because when Israel came out
-
of Egypt, they still had to learn to follow God into the
-
unknown. Because between Egypt and the
-
promised land, there's a wilderness.
-
And so the wilderness, sometimes we think, well, I'm in the
-
wilderness. I have misguards, OK.
-
The wilderness doesn't always mean you are outside of the will
-
of God. Because remember the wilderness
-
even Jesus the Bible says the Spirit LED in.
-
Oh the spirit LED life. I mean that's a whole nother
-
sermon all by itself. Jesus was spirit LED like
-
pastor. Why do we have to live a spirit
-
LED life? Well Jesus is our example.
-
Matthew 4 is how clear. Where did the Spirit lead Jesus?
-
The Bible says the Spirit LED Jesus into the wilderness.
-
That means the Spirit LED. Life is not always easy.
-
Oh, the Spirit's going to lead me.
-
This. The Spirit LED life doesn't mean
-
you you're never going to have any hard places, but it means
-
that you will never be alone. Come on, Somebody.
-
Yeah, he's with you. And so the wilderness, that is
-
the classroom of the spirits, because that is where we go
-
through the tests. OK, so the tests come in the
-
classroom of the spirits. We get tasted and it's like
-
Jesus was tasted. And so that is where in the
-
wilderness, that season, that is where we learn trust, and we
-
learn to trust God's provision. And we learn that Egypt is not
-
our provider. Egypt is not our provision.
-
The worldly system is not our source.
-
Pharaoh is not our source. People is not our source.
-
Your job is not your source. We thank God for jobs.
-
I'm not saying business opportunity, that's all good.
-
I'm just saying, who's your source?
-
Who's the one that's given you the job?
-
Who's the one that's opened the door for the bird?
-
Who is your source? Not Egypt, not Pharaoh, not
-
people, not circumstances. God is your source.
-
Hallelujah. God is your source.
-
That's what we learn in the wilderness.
-
We learn provision. Where's the bread coming from?
-
Where's the water coming from? Moses.
-
Where? OK, God's leading us.
-
This is what we're learning. Somebody say the Lord is my
-
source. So don't be afraid in the
-
unknown. Don't panic because you don't
-
have the full map or all the details, okay?
-
You're not lost. You're being LED.
-
That's how God leads. Okay, let me just explain to
-
you. For instance, let's say, and I
-
love this because I've seen it with my kids.
-
It's amazing. You walk in the place, big mall,
-
shopping centre, mall and it's busy.
-
There's people everywhere, movement, noise, distractions
-
everywhere. And so let's say your child's
-
walking next to you and the child is not afraid.
-
The child is right there walking, does not know every
-
turn, does not know the mall, the shopping centre, doesn't
-
know the exits. Let's say it's the lexicon.
-
The child is young, it doesn't know where to go.
-
It's a lot of people, a lot of noise.
-
Doesn't know. The child doesn't know how to
-
find its way back to the car. Where's the car park?
-
Don't know. But the child is not worried.
-
The child doesn't panic, he's not afraid.
-
Why is the child not afraid when walking a big in this noise and
-
all of that? Because he's holding your hand.
-
Jesus, I've seen this so many times with my kids.
-
The child doesn't need a map of the mall, which way, what shop,
-
what direction, how am I going to get back to the car?
-
The child doesn't need the full details.
-
The child just needs to to hold the hand of the one who knows.
-
That's right, just needs to hold the hand of the one who knows
-
the way. And so the child is not afraid
-
because he's with the One who knows the way.
-
I mean somebody, OK. And so that is the Spirit LED
-
life. I may not have every answer,
-
every turn, every exit. I may not know every exit, every
-
turn, every way, but I know the one who knows.
-
I don't know every turn. I don't know every exit.
-
I don't know every detail, but I know whose hand I'm holding.
-
I don't know all the details or the answer how we're going to,
-
but I know that the one whose hand I'm holding and when I'm
-
holding his hand, I'm not lost. When I'm holding his hand, I'm
-
not lost because I'm being LED. And that's what I love.
-
I've seen it with my kids when the whole Daddy's hand, they're
-
not scared because Daddy knows where they know Daddy knows the
-
way. Daddy, we knew we're going this
-
way. Somebody say I'm being LED now.
-
Point #3 Are you ready for point #3?
-
For those who are taking notes, write this down.
-
Move with the river. And I love that earlier on how
-
Pastor Michelle was just flowing prophetically with the river.
-
That's very scriptural because Jesus said in the book of John
John 7 chapter mention
-
Chapter 7 that rivers of living waters will flow.
-
I'm like, Lord, how does that work?
-
Now I want to show you something.
-
It says here in John Chapter 7, whoever believes in me, as the
John 7 chapter mention
-
Scripture has said, rivers of liver water will flow from
-
within them. By this he meant the Spirit.
-
So yes, Jesus. And he talks and explains to the
-
people this. And he did not say that inside
-
of you that there will be a pond.
-
OK, Because a pond can become stale and stagnant.
-
Jesus specifically, He did not say there's a pond in you.
-
He said there's a river in you. Because a river has movement, a
-
river flows, a river has a current.
-
It's got a movement and a flow, OK.
-
And so he was talking about the Holy Spirit, and that is what
-
the Holy Spirit does. The Holy Spirit can only moves,
-
and he flows in and through our lives, our hearts.
-
The Holy Spirit moves and he refreshes and he cleanses us and
-
he directs us into life. Wherever the river flows,
-
there's life. He directs us to the right
-
place. Somebody say, let the river
-
flow. Now there's a story about a town
-
in Mississippi, and this town was a thriving town.
-
The reason why it was a thriving challenge was because it was
-
connected to the Mississippi River.
-
The river brought boats, business, trade, people,
-
movement, prosperity, life. But then something happened to
-
the river because, you know, this whole town was built around
-
the flow of the river, the whole commerce, the boats, business
-
all around. But something happened to the
-
river. And then over time, the river
-
began to change course in a different direction.
-
And so in the early 1900s, they've studied this thing after
-
a few years already, the town was then already several miles
-
away from the river because the river has moved the river.
-
And so when the river moved, life moved with it.
-
Businesses died, families left, prosperity disappeared,
-
activities stop. And a town that once was a
-
thriving town alive became like a ghost town.
-
Buildings still remain. The structures still remain.
-
The memories remain. But the river is gone.
-
Church. What a powerful picture.
-
Yeah, that's a powerful picture of our lives of the church.
-
OK, so if we that can, if we as a church in our lives no longer
-
allow the free movement of the Holy Spirit that can happen in
-
our lives, if we as a church, if we don't allow the Spirit as no
-
longer flowing freely in our lives, OK, You can still have
-
the structure. You can still have religion, but
-
there's no flow plus the flow. You can still have activities,
-
OK, but there's no anointing religious activities, a form of
-
godliness, but there's no power. There's still songs, but no
-
surrender. Jesus did not bring us a dead
-
religion, a dry religion, OK? He's he did not bring us
-
something that is a form of godliness.
-
It looked religious, but there's no anointing.
-
I I don't ever want that. Where there's no flow, no
-
anointing, no miracle signs and wonders, there's no life.
-
It's dead. On the outside it looks all
-
churchy, all religious, all good sing songs.
-
But on the inside there's no power, no flow, no movement of
-
the Holy Ghost. It has got to be alive because
-
that's what Jesus said. He didn't bring dead religion.
-
He promised that they will be rivers of living, not dead
-
living waters that's flowing. Not a form of godliness.
-
Call themselves a organization or a church organization, but a
-
spirit fault church. That is spirit fault.
-
Many religious organizations calling on God.
-
Big difference if they are spirit fault or not.
-
OK, so Jesus said out of your belly will flow rivers of
-
living. Somebody say living waters,
-
living water. Yeah.
-
And so that is why we must move with the river.
-
When the river moves and changes, we have to change
-
course. We have to stay with the river,
-
stay connected, stay in the flow.
-
Now I remember as children back in Africa on my grandfather's
-
farm, we love to swim in the river.
-
And this on my grandfather's farm has got this crocodile
-
river flowing through. Now, I've never seen crocodiles
-
there, but thank God it's called that's the name of the river is
-
the Crocodile river. And so we ask you to swimming in
-
this river. But I'm just amazed because I'll
-
never forget when I got into this river, how strong that
-
current is pulling. I was just walking and you just
-
feel this movement of the, I mean, when you're standing on
-
the House so you don't see it, but when you're in and you're in
-
that river. And So what would we just get in
-
this river? And we would not fight the
-
current, but we would let it. We would flow with it.
-
We don't know where we're going. The river would just go zigzag,
-
but we would flow in the river and we'd swim and we'd have fun,
-
enjoy ourselves. Not well, because we know, I
-
mean, the river would take us to the right place because we knew
-
that it was, you know, going to the farmhouse.
-
That's what the Holy Spirit does in our lives.
-
He flows and He takes us to the right direction.
-
So we just don't resist the flow.
-
Go with the flow with the Holy Ghost and he will take you into
-
the right position, the right job, the right relationship.
-
He will take you there. That's where the Holy Spirit
-
leads us into the promises of God, into life.
-
So if you just flow with him, He will direct you the right
-
direction. OK.
-
And so sometimes when when you want to say the wrong thing,
-
there will be the pull of the Holy Spirit.
-
And we've seen that last Sunday sermon where if you want to go
-
back to Egypt, then the pull of the Spirit, the river the Koran
-
will bring you, will pull you. And that is just God redirecting
-
us. Thank God.
-
I thank God. Because really there is
-
conviction. Redirection is going to be, you
-
ought to thank God for conviction of the Holy Spirit.
-
My God, I thank God, like, listen, I cannot go back.
-
You cannot go back to Egypt and feel at home.
-
Oh no, I'm not going back to Egypt.
-
No, Jesus, no, I'm not going back.
-
Go back to Egypt and feel at home.
-
No, because the Spirit of God is in US.
-
It's a new nature in US. You just cannot enjoy sin
-
anymore. That's what sin has.
-
Did I sin? But when we are the born again
-
new nature, there's something that pulls just before you want
-
to say that just wanted to. There's something that's going
-
to pull you. It's the Holy Spirit pull.
-
Thank God for the conviction of the Holy Spirit.
-
Somebody say stay in the flow. Yeah, Don't resist the flow.
-
Let this Holy Spirit lead. Yeah.
-
And that's Romans 8, the sons and the daughters of God.
-
They are allowing themselves to be LED.
-
I want to that's amazing Scripture allow the Spirit to
-
lead. It says they for allowing
-
themselves to be led by the Spirit of God.
-
That is the proof of sonship. It's not just about how many
-
scriptures you can quote, how many Bible verses we can
-
memorize. How could we know the Bible
-
quotes, know the Christian language, memorize the
-
scripture, post it online, good things.
-
It's all good. I'm not that's amazing.
-
Memorize the Bible. I'm just giving you the proof.
-
Romans, I says the proof of our sonship is when we allow the
-
Spirit to lead us. That's a proof.
-
That's a proof of a real Christian.
-
There's many people that can quote a Bible verse, put it
-
online on Facebook media. Are they spirit LED Big
-
difference. Big difference.
-
These atheist people don't believe in God.
-
They can quote Bible verses. It doesn't mean if they quote
-
the Bible verse they are Christian.
-
Come on we listen. We have got to be wide awake in
-
this world. Not everything everybody says in
-
post online and the Bible verse they are a Christian.
-
Please, there's proof. The real Christians, it doesn't
-
say how many verses you can quote out of the Bible.
-
The real Christians are the ones who are led by the Spirit.
-
Jesus was led by the Spirit. The Holy Spirit says go this
-
way. Yes, Lord, that's a mature
-
Christian, a son and a daughter of God.
-
Holy Spirit says go into that shop and go speak to that person
-
right now, Lord, but I'm basically doing my shopping.
-
It's fine Lord, and I get that prompting.
-
I stop everything. I walk onto the person.
-
Excuse me, Sir, can I have a word?
-
Can I talk to you? Because the Holy Spirit is
-
leading you to your next connection.
-
He's leading you to life. He's leading you in the right
-
direction. It's like you have got to meet
-
that person, yes, somebody, wherever, on the airport,
-
wherever we are at work, go make that person coffee, go talk to
-
them. That's the cry of Moses.
-
Spirit lead us. Moses was saying this Exodus 73.
-
Moses said to him, if your presence, come on, somebody say
-
presence. If your presence does not go
-
with us, do not send us up from here.
-
Moses was saying, I want your presence, I want you.
-
If you are not in it, I don't want it.
-
If you are not in it, I don't want to go.
-
It has to be the cry of our hearts.
-
Church. God, do not let me go where
-
you're not leading. Do not let me go there.
-
Lord, do not let me chase that opportunity.
-
Let me not chase that business. Let me not chase that job or
-
that business opportunity. If you are not leading it, if
-
you are not in that job, in that business, if it's going to cost
-
my peace and cost my family, I don't want it.
-
I'm sorry because God is not in it.
-
This is what Moses said. I don't want to go into that
-
situation if God's not with me. Oh, listen, church, we have, we
-
have to got to be very sensitive to the leading of the Holy
-
Spirit. Like Lord, if you are not in
-
that relationship, I don't want to be in that relationship.
-
That person I'm phoning and speaking to on the phone that
-
frame that. If that is your wrong
-
relationship, I don't want it. I don't want it because if God's
-
not in it, I don't want to lose my peace.
-
Somebody listen, We need the presence more than anything, the
-
presence of God. That's where life is.
-
The wrong relationship, the flesh is deaf.
-
We read that last week, Romans 8.
-
It leads to death, very painful. We we've looked at that last
-
week. That leads to death and
-
destruction. Our relationship, when it talks
-
about death, it talks about relationships that can cause
-
harm. So we have to be very wise and
-
sensitive to the Spirit of God. That is why we cannot afford to
-
lose the flow. We need the presence.
-
Somebody said I need his presence.
-
Now someone might ask, well, how is it possible?
-
How can that river that brought so much life and so much
-
pressure, how can that river change direction?
-
And it's amazing if you go back to it, they've studied it, the
-
engineers, it's amazing because they studied the town and and
-
the answer was simple. The reason the river changed
-
direction is because there was a debris build up over time.
-
And so the current started shifting, shifting, shifting.
-
And then the river started moving the other way, the other
-
direction. And so it was no longer running
-
by the town. The river was running the other
-
way, OK and was flowing the other side.
-
And so this didn't happen overnight.
-
Little by little there was the style and the, and the debris
-
and the gravel and things pulled up from the boats and the
-
business that was coming in. That's how the engineer studied
-
it, that the river started changing the direction.
-
So just little, but by little, but that is about our lives, our
-
in our hearts, how the river can get blocked up, not by one huge
-
thing, a little offence, a little bitterness, a little
-
pride, a little hurt, something little compromise, a little
-
prayerlessness, OK. And so many people, I've seen
-
this over years, I've been around the world, I've seen many
-
different revivals, many people, you know, going back to South
-
Africa, I can remember we started off then job, a very
-
powerful science, one of some miracles.
-
And I've seen many people, they start up in the spirit, they
-
start on fire, they start the race, they get on fire, born
-
against both, they are on fire. They run with the word, they run
-
with the spur, they run. But then life happens, things
-
get busy, hurts come, distractions come, things start
-
white start piling up. And this is what Paul warns us
-
in the book of Galatians. I want you to see this.
-
He says here, Galatians 3, verse 3 of the beginning by means of
-
the spirit. Are you now trying to finish
-
running by the flesh? You're trying to finish by means
-
of the flesh. He says, listen, yeah, that's
-
good. While the you've started in the
-
spirit, you've started right. You got spirit fault.
-
You started off, but now you're trying to finish in the flesh.
-
Don't let the debris block the flow.
-
Don't let the debris and the offences and the hurts and the
-
difficulties of the challenges of life block the flow of the
-
river. OK?
-
Because he's saying let the Holy Spirit come and wash and cleanse
-
and remove the blockages out of the heart.
-
Because nothing can take the place, all of the presence of
-
God. There is just nothing in this
-
world. Come on, we've tried everything.
-
There is nothing in this world. We've been around people.
-
Can you send? There is nothing that can take
-
the place of the presence of God.
-
Nothing. No success, money, positions,
-
popularity, cars, houses, titles, nothing can take the
-
presence of God. Oh just taste and see that the
-
Lord is good and you will know there is nothing that compares
-
to the presence of God. Absolutely nothing.
-
No drug, no money, no house, nothing in this world can
-
compare to the very presence of God is the highest form of life.
-
Come on, somebody. It's the highest, it's the most
-
fulfilling. When the river of the Holy
-
Spirit flow. Whoa, the praises of God.
-
My goodness, I wish I could put this into words.
-
My God, I wish I'm in this. How do I explain what I've
-
experienced this morning on my morning prayer walk?
-
How do I explain that, Lord? But I pray that that encounter I
-
had with the Lord will be imparted upon you, because that
-
was my prayer. And I had in one moment I had a
-
shift from the deepest cry of tears running from my eyes to
-
the deepest joy that broke out. And I realized the only thing is
-
only the presence of God that can do that in a moment of time.
-
And I said, God, what I've encountered here this morning
-
walking past the fisherman at the pond, and I was walking
-
around this way and the Spirit of God, whoa.
-
And you just know God is there. And I said, Lord, impart this
-
upon your people today. God said, yes, my son, I want
-
you to get ready this morning. I want you to open up your
-
hearts this morning for an encounter that will bring
-
movement in your life. It's going to move.
-
It's going to shift things. It's going to shift you into
-
that place of life. Wow.
-
I feel the presence of God in this place.
-
Thank you, Lord, thank you, Lord, that no one will leave the
-
same year today. And God was showing me your
-
faces and I was praying for each one of you.
-
And I said thank you, Lord. Today's going to be a great day.
-
Today's going to be a great day. And so David prayed in Psalm 139
-
because one of the things that we as church believers, we have
-
to God protect jealously, God, the presence.
-
It's like when somebody walks around and they have a diamond
-
in their pocket. They're not going to walk
-
carelessly. Something that's of value.
-
I'm not talking about man. I'm talking about something that
-
is of value when we have the presence of God is value.
-
So we have to protect and God if we lose the river, something
-
starts dying on the inside. David prayed Psalm 139 search me
-
oh God and know my heart. See if there's any offensive way
-
in me and lead me in the way if I lost him.
-
David was saying Lord don't let anything block the flow in my
-
life. I don't want nothing.
-
I want to be so open to the flow of the Holy Spirit.
-
I want to be so sensitive to your Holy Spirit.
-
I don't want nothing to block your flow.
-
And that's what I asked this. I'm like, Lord, if there's
-
anything in my heart, search me. I don't want anything blocked.
-
Come Holy Spirit, wash me, cleanse me, refresh us, remove
-
any blockages. Somebody say let the river flow.
-
And that's how powerful when it comes to point through, move
-
with the rubber. Because here's the thing, that
-
river, when that Mississippi River changed course, the people
-
had a choice. They could have stayed where the
-
river used to be and slowly die. Or they can move with the river.
-
It's a choice. They could have stayed where the
-
river used to be and slowly die. Oh, the river used to be.
-
Yeah, that it used to be good used to and slowly die.
-
Or they could move with the river and live.
-
The river has changed. It's changed course.
-
I remember years ago God told me he said that season in that it
-
was over. I need you to move to a
-
spiritual church. I needed to move on.
-
Where is the river flowing? That's where there's life.
-
That's where there's life, OK? And so we cannot live in the
-
past and move on where God wants us next at the same time.
-
So we cannot stay in the past and live in the past and move
-
with where God is taking us at the same time.
-
Now I'm grateful for what God used to do, but I need fresh oil
-
to die. I need fresh water, fresh fire,
-
fresh surrender, fresh obedience to die.
-
Not yesterday's flow, today's flow.
-
So if the rubber is flowing, OK, the Spirit is moving.
-
And the Spirit, I am moving with the Spirit.
-
I am moving with the spirit. Come on, somebody say I am
-
moving with the river. Say it again, I am moving with
-
the river and I believe today God wants to send fresh fire,
-
fresh rubber, a fresh flow. I really believe God wants to
-
send a fresh flow today, a fresh cleansing, a fresh flow of the
-
Holy Ghost, because Jesus said out of your belly will flow
-
rubbers of living waters. Now my final point, last one,
-
move forward and then go back. So #4 move forward, don't go
-
back, OK? Because the Spirit will always
-
move you forward, but the flesh will always try to pull you
-
back, OK? And so the flesh remembers Egypt
-
and the flesh remembers Egypt better than it really was
-
because Egypt was a lot of hardship, a lot of trouble, a
-
lot of oppression, a lot of pain, a lot of difficulty in
-
Asia. But it's like the flesh
-
remembers the the food, OK, that's the flesh.
-
So go back to Egypt. OK, that's what the flesh was.
-
The fleshes go back because it was easier there.
-
But the spirit says go forward. The promise is just ahead
-
because here you've got the Israelites.
-
They've been set free and delivered from bondage and
-
slavery of years and years of bondage.
-
And then later they start talking about going back to
-
Egypt. Going back to what the flesh
-
says is easier because the Spirit leads forward, but the
-
flesh leads backwards, back into the old habits.
-
OK. And so if you are going to move
-
forward, there are some things that you have got to cut off.
-
And so anything that's trying to keep pulling you back, we have
-
got to cut it off. And so I heard about the story
-
of a young mountain climber and he was hiking alone.
-
And so one of the big boulders shifted and his hand got trapped
-
under the boulder. He tried everything possibly to
-
cut himself free, to get free of it.
-
He used his mountain gearing equipment.
-
He chipped at the rock, at the boulder.
-
He ran out of food, out of water.
-
For days, he tried everything. His hand stuck.
-
After a while, his hand, his arm had no feeling at all.
-
And it looks like he's going to die there because his trapped is
-
alone. He's got no more food, no more
-
water. It seems like there's no way
-
out. But on the first day, he made a
-
decision, one of the hardest decisions of his life.
-
We realized that he knew that he had to cut off his arm to be
-
able to live. So he realized that if I stay
-
attached to what is already dead, I'm going to die with it.
-
And so he cut himself free and he got up, he walked and he
-
found help and his life was saved.
-
And that's is like sometimes what happens in our lives in a
-
sense that something, some way, something has ended.
-
Sometimes it's something is over, it's ended.
-
That season is over. OK.
-
And it might deeply, it might don't understand it all, but you
-
have got to attach from what's dead in order to move forward
-
with what God has got next for us.
-
So we have got to attach from what is over and dead.
-
And you have to make a decision. I'm going to cut off.
-
I'm going to move forward. So if something is dead, don't
-
die with it. Don't hold on to it.
-
Let it go. If the relationship ended, don't
-
let your future end with it. If the relationship is over and
-
done, don't end and die with it. If that season closed, don't
-
spend the rest of your life sitting outside of a closed
-
door. Cut it off.
-
Come on somebody, you got it. Sometimes you have to cut off
-
the bittersness. Cut off the offense, Cut off the
-
flesh. Cuts off what's holding you
-
back. Listen, cut off that wrong
-
relationship. It's holding you back.
-
You don't want to die there. Come on.
-
I'm talking to somebody here. Please.
-
You don't want to die there. That thing is dead.
-
Cut it off. Who are you talking to?
-
Who is that? This part of God is saying cut
-
it off, cut off fear, cut off the wrong relationship.
-
It's very disturbed. Cut off the thing that's pulling
-
you back, because the flesh will pull you back to Egypt.
-
It wants to pull you back to Egypt, pull you back to bondage,
-
pull you back. But the spirit leads forward.
-
So let go of the past, move forward, keep following the
-
spirit, because the spirit leads you into the promise.
-
So as we close gods, the same God who brought you out, the
-
same God who leads you through, don't run back to Egypt, don't
-
follow the flesh, don't let bitterness clock the spirits.
-
When the Spirit of God is calling you forward, when the
-
Spirit of God is stirring and moving in your life, when the
-
Spirit of God says move now, you don't need the full map.
-
You just need to hold the hand of the one who knows the way.
-
Yeah. OK.
-
And so you need the presence. You need his leading.
-
You don't need to know it all. You need him to lead.
-
And I declare over you the spirit.
-
And the rubber is flowing in. The fire is burning again.
-
I declare over you that your shoes are on.
-
Your heart is ready. You are not stuck in yesterday.
-
You are moved by the Spirit. Somebody S Hallelujah.
-
Come on, let's all stand. Stand to your feet.
-
Come on, glory be to God. Everyone stands for a moment.
-
Let this be a holy moment before God right now.
-
And I want you to ask yourself, where do you need the Spirit of
-
God to move in your life? Is it in your family, your
-
future or your emotions? Maybe your calling, maybe your
-
next step, What it might be my next step.
-
Is there an area where the river has been blocked?
-
Maybe you feel stuck, dry ground.
-
Maybe you feel unsure what to do next.
-
Maybe fear has been trying to pull you back.
-
But today I believe God is saying get your shoes on.
-
You're not staying stuck. Get ready to move forward.
-
So if you're saying pass the wall, I don't want to be ruled
-
by my flesh, OK? I, I, I want to follow the Holy
-
Spirit. I'm ready to move forward.
-
If that is you lift your hand before the Lord.
-
This is your response to God. You're saying Lord, yes, let the
-
river flow. My shoes are on.
-
I'm ready to move. So right now, put your hand on
-
your heart. Let's pray, Holy Spirit, I pray.
-
Move on us today. Every person in this room move.
-
Holy Spirit, move. Thoughts, choices, words,
-
families, future right now, Holy Spirit, move.
-
So where there's been dryness, let the river flow.
-
Where there's been debris and blockages, wash it away.
-
Where there's been disappointment, restore hope.
-
And so Holy Spirit move upon every heart.
-
Holy Spirit, touch, stir us again.
-
Let no one walk out the same way they came in the Holy Spirit.
-
Move us forward. Move us out of fear into faith.
-
Move us out of bondage, out of all cycles, out of yesterday.
-
Move us into the promise, into freedom.
-
Move us into fresh fire burning us.
-
Let the river flow and today we put our shoes on.
-
We are ready to move with you Lord, in Jesus mighty name.
-
Now say this with me out loud. So I am led by the Spirit of
-
God. I am ready to move.
-
My shoes are on. I'm not ruled by flesh.
-
I'm not going back to Egypt. The rubber of God is flowing in
-
me. I am moving forward.
-
I am moved by the Spirit in Jesus mighty name.
-
Come on, give God some praise in this place.
-
So right now, before we close, if you've never made a
-
commitment to follow Jesus, this is your invitation.
-
Maybe you've been trying to lead your own life.
-
Were you carrying guilt or shame?
-
Today Jesus is calling you into a new life.
-
He didn't just come to improve your life, He came to save your
-
life. So right now, if you want to
-
give your life to Jesus, become a child of God.
-
Jesus came to save you. He died on the cross for your
-
sins. He rose again so that you could
-
be forgiven. So if you want to give your life
-
to Jesus and receive forgiveness, just flick your
-
hand, Amen. Amen.
-
I see that, and thank you. Thank you.
-
Receive forgiveness. This is a brand new beginning,
-
right? I see that hand.
-
I see that hand. This is your moment.
-
This is a fresh surrender. It's a fresh commitment.
-
The child of God, so everybody proud lies.
-
So Jesus, I invite you into my life, be my Lord and Savior.
-
I repent of my sins. Forgive me, make me new, fool me
-
with your Spirit, lead me forward.
-
From this day on, I give you my life.
-
Amen. Hallelujah.
-
So you are a child of God, born again in a family of God.
-
Let's celebrate those who made a commitment for Jesus Christ.
-
Hallelujah.
