  1. You're listening to an ex church podcast. We hope this message will lights up

  2. your thing. The way God responds to storms is very different from the way

  3. human beings will respond to storms, and Jesus tackles it. Later, he

  4. says, why are you so fearful? So the deepest thing that God was

  5. after was the fear that in our hearts. Mark chapter four and verses thirty

  6. seven to forty one. This is the word of the Lord, let's read

  7. it. And a great windstorm arose and the waves beat into the boat,

  8. so that it was already filling. But he was in the stern. Jesus

  9. was in the stern, asleep on a pillow, and they woke him and

  10. said to him, teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?

  11. Then Jesus arose and rebuilt the wind. He rebuild the wind and said to

  12. the sea, peace be still. And the wind sees and there was great

  13. calm. But he said to them, why are you so fearful? How

  14. is it that you have no faith? And they feared exceedingly and said to

  15. one another, who can this be that even the wind and the sea obey

  16. him? Today? I want to speak to you from this very portion of

  17. scripture about the storm, about the sleep, about the stirring, and about

  18. success. So let's break down this verse now and see what the Lord wants

  19. to say to us. My first thought for this morning is why do storms

  20. happen in our life? Because all of us will definitely encounter storms. One

  21. thing I think, if I prophesy and will definitely come true, is that

  22. all of us will go through storms. Storms are a very real thing,

  23. a very natural thing, and it is something that the Bible says will definitely

  24. happen in our lives. But storms will come. In fact, someone said

  25. before you are either entering a storm, or you are in a storm already,

  26. or you are coming out of one. But storms are real, and

  27. of all of us have them in our lives, not just once, not

  28. just twice, but quite frequently, almost every year. You're guaranteed one,

  29. you know, And it is not about the storm. Therefore, it is

  30. how we respond to storms. So the question I have today that I believe

  31. it's from the Lord, is this, why do storms happen? Okay,

  32. this is a good question, and I think I have a god answer for

  33. you. So here at the last part of the reading that we just read,

  34. the Bible says the disciples in the boat said this, and we can

  35. put the scripture up again. I think it's verse forty one. They feared

  36. exceedingly and said to one another, who can this be? Who are they

  37. talking about? Jesus? Who can this be that even the wind and the

  38. sea obey him? Now, wait a minute. I thought that these disciples

  39. have already been walking with Jesus for a few months, if not a few

  40. years. Well altogether, it was probably three two and a half years,

  41. and they walked, so maybe one year two years. They've been walking with

  42. Jesus, just like you have been walking with Jesus. Some of you have

  43. been Christine here for ten years, fifteen years, twenty years, and we

  44. have walked with the Lord. We have experienced God, and we have seen

  45. him to be lord of areas in our lives, and we declare his lordship,

  46. and we are praising him for who he is. And yet these disciples

  47. could be so surprised when the winds stopped and the waves were come, they

  48. had to ask this question, who can this be? But I thought that

  49. they already knew that Jesus is Lord and he is God. So why do

  50. you think this question was us and why did they continue to say? Who

  51. can this be that even the wind and sea obey him? Well, let

  52. me give me this thought. They were shocked, they were surprised they were

  53. asking this question because they never in the last few months or few one two

  54. years of walking with the Lord, they have never seen him actually arming the

  55. storm, stopping the wind and giving peace to the sea. They have never

  56. seen that part of the Lord. So can I just give you the reason

  57. why storms happened in our lives? It happens to show us that Jesus is

  58. lord of that situation. It's as simple as that. Because some of us

  59. who have been healed by him can actually confidently say he's the Lord of healing.

  60. But maybe we've never suffered from the stock market. So some of you

  61. who have suffered from the stock market don't know that he's also the lord of

  62. the stock market until you go in you lose all that money, or you

  63. got scam, and then you cry out, Lord, help me, and

  64. he does help you, and you realize, who can this be? He's

  65. even the lord of the stock market. Yes, until you get into that

  66. position, until you get into that place, until you get into that problem,

  67. until you get into that sickness, you will know him as a lot.

  68. So I'll tell you again, he brings us into storms to show us

  69. at the end that he's also a lot of that. That's why we enter

  70. into storms, so that at the end of the day we stand there and

  71. says and we say, who can this be that is in control of even

  72. the political system, in control of the government. And until you enter that

  73. storm, you will never know. So listen to me right now. One

  74. of the main reasons why we are allowed to go into a storm, it's

  75. so that we can come out of the storm saying, Lord, you are

  76. God of even this area. The question is why does God allows storms?

  77. I believe he allows storms to show us who he really is in that storm,

  78. and he is the lord of the winds, and he's the lord of

  79. the seas, and that he has our best intention in mind. Now,

  80. let me read on. Let me read on. It says here in verse

  81. thirty seven, maybe he can put up the scripture against so that people can

  82. remember what we said. It says, the waves beat into the boat so

  83. that it was already feeling. So the boat was feeling. You know,

  84. there's water in the boat already okay, And it says on that Jesus was

  85. asleep or a pillow. He's very comfortable. He even took a pillow to

  86. sleep on. He's comfortable. Okay, all right, So what is in

  87. the boat? Jesus is asleep? And they ran and walk him up and

  88. said, teacher, do you not care that we are perishing? Sometimes we

  89. might think that God doesn't care. How many of you have ever had that

  90. thought before? Let me see your head, Okay, few honest ones.

  91. Or maybe we haven't gone through such a hard time, hard enough to actually

  92. challenge us to think, God you even care? Because I'm going through so

  93. much and you haven't come through for me for weeks, months, years,

  94. Lord, when are you? Do you care? Not? God? Do

  95. you care that I'm not married yet? You know I'm already thirty nine and

  96. I'm not married. I Do you even care? Lord? I'm married for

  97. ten years and I have no children? Do you care not? You know?

  98. Sometimes you come to a place wherebody's been so long and you think that

  99. God doesn't care. But I can't tell you this that the way God responds

  100. to storms is very different from the way human beings would respond to stomps.

  101. We usually respond to the first thing we see. Now I ask you a

  102. question, what do you think Jesus would have done should have done with this

  103. situation? What do you think Jesus should have done in this situation? Number

  104. one, he shouldn't have been sleeping. They don't want to see you resting

  105. when there's something to be done. He shouldn't be sleeping. The last thing,

  106. at least wake up and at least look like you care, even if

  107. you couldn't do anything about it, at least look like you don't you even

  108. care. Well, he cares, but he cares very differently than we.

  109. And we will go immediately to the thing we can see. And if Jesus

  110. was like that, you know what he would have done. Who would have

  111. gone first to scoop up what they from the board? Yes, because water

  112. was already feeling the board. We will respond very differently. I'm not this

  113. woman. Our manners who will do that. They will go and attack and

  114. address the very thing that fell off the ground. And this is the first

  115. thing. And they're troubled with the first thing. They are rowed up by

  116. the first thing. They can't stand the chair not being straight, and so

  117. they want to go and handle that first, and and sometimes the devil gets

  118. our attention on things that, yeah, it's important, but might not be

  119. the most important thing. And Jesus tackles it later. He says, why

  120. are you so fearful? So the deepest thing that God was after was the

  121. fear that's in our hearts or the faithlessness that's in our hearts. This is

  122. very important, but the devil will want us to concentrate on the current immediate

  123. thing. Now that's not always it's okay to immediately do something that you know,

  124. emergency or urgency or yeah, fight, I understand it, but you

  125. also understand what I'm saying. That our eyes can be on things that the

  126. law's eyes are not on. So Jesus shouldn't be asleep on the pillow,

  127. but he was. And what that tells us is that we must all of

  128. us find what it means to rest in the Lord. Jesus was wrestling on

  129. a pillow because he's not worried like you are worried. He's not concerned like

  130. you are concerned like me, I'm also concerned about many things. He says,

  131. do not worry. And so he's asleep on a pillow, not because

  132. he didn't care. But because he is not as worried as you are.

  133. He knew that his life was in his father's hands, and some of us

  134. in his room need to know that our lives are in our father's hands.

  135. Somebody say, a man, do not allow fear to drive you to do

  136. things. Do not focus on things that doesn't matter. They woke him,

  137. he was sleeping. They thought he didn't care. But I want to say

  138. to you that God cares very different, and we need to learn to care

  139. like God cares, see like God sees, respond like God responds. Settle

  140. down, don't be afraid, be focused on the Lord. Look to the

  141. Lord and seek his wisdom, and seek his peace in everything that you're dealing

  142. with. Number two for what we learn from this. When Jesus arose,

  143. he did not scoop up water from the boat that was not so important to

  144. him. He didn't want to spend his time his energy on things that wasn't

  145. really important. What he did was immediately he rebuked the wind and said to

  146. the sea, peace be still, and the wind sees, and there was

  147. a great calm. Let me do some teaching here. Now. Jesus is

  148. a creator, and the wind is a creation. So is the sea and

  149. everything else we can see. The creator doesn't have to rebuke his creation,

  150. he can just speak to it. The reason why I believe Jesus had to

  151. rebuild the wind instead of saying stop insself, of just saying calm down,

  152. the reason why I believe Jesus had to rebuild the wind is because it was

  153. demonic. It had a drive that was spiritual. And so this is the

  154. first thing I want to tell all of you. A lot of things in

  155. our lives, we try and try and try, and we find that it

  156. doesn't it doesn't really break true, it doesn't happen. So I can I

  157. want to reintroduce to you now that there is an evil one that is a

  158. devil that Jesus prayed. Father you all remember the whole thing, our Father's

  159. God in heaven towards it end, he says, and lead us not into

  160. temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. It's supposed to be prayed

  161. every day, every day. This is a prayer of the Lord. That

  162. means that Jesus himself knew that we had to pray to be delivered from the

  163. evil One. Means to say that every day there is an evil one working

  164. very real okay. And the more you don't leave it the board, the

  165. devil likes it because then he can do harmed you. They can come to

  166. continue to disturb you. Okay. He can do it with children, he

  167. can do it with animals, he can do it with doubts. He can

  168. do it with your finances. I've seen actually, And because I spent three

  169. years studying on on healing deliverance, demons and how God casts them up,

  170. so I know that demons can even move things. Now he can, he

  171. can disturb children, he can disturb your health. I think. I think

  172. after studying three years on on healing, I think ninety percent of the sicknesses

  173. that we have and the diseases our evil spirit or unclean spirits motivated. Okay.

  174. So that's why when Jesus came on the earth, he many of the

  175. people he prayed for he cast up cast out demons. So is because we

  176. are living in a world where by we don't talk about demons and I clean

  177. spirits so much, that's why we think they're not there. They are,

  178. okay, and they can affect our finances. You're trying to break out from

  179. pornography, you're trying to break up from pornography, but you still go back

  180. to it every time you say, oh, forgive me Lord, I've seen,

  181. forgive me Lord, ive seen, but he's still going back. So

  182. some people call it bad habit, But a bad habit is also spiritually backed

  183. up. And until the time when that spirit is cast out, you and

  184. I will not be able to overcome it no matter what we try. So

  185. this is the basic thought for you. If you've been trying and trying your

  186. best and trying going on for therapy, you're going for discipline, staff,

  187. you're going for it, but you cannot overcome it. It is usually spiritual.

  188. I didn't say always, but usually spiritual. So understand this. Jesus

  189. stood up from his sleep when probably to the side of the boat, and

  190. he looks at the wind. He looks at the waves, the waves he's

  191. bringing the water. He didn't spend his time scooping up the water. He

  192. rebuked the wind. Boom stop you win, stop now, stop your works

  193. enough you don't you don't have to rebuild wind whatnot. You can just say

  194. wind stop, calm down, no. But the Bible says he rebuilt the

  195. winds he knew what was causing that wind to be violent. And it was

  196. because of that wind that the seas were raging, because if the wind wasn't

  197. violent, the seas wouldn't rage like that. But he dealt with the seas

  198. so differently. It should have said the Bible should have said, if we

  199. wrote it, if we wrote it, he should have said he rebuilt the

  200. wind and the seas. He didn't say that. He says he rebuilt the

  201. wind and said peace. He knew exactly what was causing your problem. What

  202. was stirring and what was being stirred two different things. And as Christians,

  203. I hope I can give you this truth so you can add truth to your

  204. prayer life. And if you know, okay, how come my son always

  205. like this? Okay, I'm going to as a mom, I'm going to

  206. rebuild the very spirit that is behind this. Maybe because spirits have to have

  207. an open door. So maybe the dad or maybe the grandfather somewhere the door

  208. was open. You see the character in the character same life who got anger

  209. problem. Because the anger problem goes all the way down to grandfather. So

  210. a door is opened. In Jesus name, I canceled that door. I

  211. command the spirit of anger out of this child in Jesus name. But a

  212. lot of us think are oh, but pastor, you know, I sent

  213. him to another pastor and prayed for and already cast out the demon a device

  214. to another. The waves is still stirring. Even though the one who stirs

  215. has stopped, the one who is being stirred is still stirring. You get

  216. this, So right now, maybe something sharp, you know, penetrated my

  217. wife's skin went into a limit of a flesh. It's called a fiery that

  218. we know, the fire that is spiritual. So we cast out an uproot

  219. the fiy that is then, is there not still pain? One day,

  220. two days, five days? If you don't take care of that pain,

  221. it will still be pain. You had to take care. You don't rebuild

  222. that pain. You rebuild the firy that that came. And now that you've

  223. rebuilt the fire that the wind had sees but the sea is still stirring.

  224. And a lot of people don't understand that. They good, lie, But

  225. I've been prayed for already. No, no, no, no, listen,

  226. I know you've been prayed for. But the pain is still that the

  227. stirring is still that very important understand this because people they don't know, they

  228. don't know what's happening. They go. They still blame the the devil.

  229. They still blame this. They say, oh, God, never answer my

  230. prayer. God is so cruel. God doesn't care. No, listen,

  231. I rebuild the wind I say peace to the storms. The devil needs to

  232. show a thought, just needs to show a thought of fear. And so

  233. you have to have peace and stop talking like that, Stop confessing like that.

  234. Stop saying, oh, I don't know, I don't think God did

  235. it. No, he did it. He did something for you already.

  236. So every day you know what you need to do. Just give thanks,

  237. because giving thanks continues to help you keep that healing going. So Jesus rebuilt

  238. the winds and said peace. Be still. That's why the Bible also says

  239. in Psalm forty six ten be still and know that I am God. Be

  240. still and know that I'm God. I will be exalted among the nations.

  241. I will be exalted in the earth. Stop you stir and peace you who

  242. are stirred. That's why a lot of us are han't yet seen our break

  243. through because we don't know the prayer. We just go for a prayer.

  244. One time, two times cast out. They didn't know. It's got to

  245. be the rest of it is the shause. Sometimes we go out and we

  246. still complain. We prayed it, but we go out and still complain.

  247. We'll get prayed for when you're going to say something else after that. No,

  248. you want you want to abide in the Lord. Abide and remain in

  249. the Lord. How to remain every single time you're attempted to say something else,

  250. you give thanks and every time you were about to say something opposite from

  251. God's word your worship because you need to understand what is full, complete break

  252. truth. It is not only in the rebuking of the wind, but also

  253. peace to the seed. We hope you've been blessed by this message. If
