U-turn (Day 2) The fall of Man | Pr Sandra Chin

Good day everyone. This is Pasta Sandra here. Welcome to the second day

of U Turn. Today we will be looking at the topic on the fall

of Man, taken from Genesis chapter three, verse one to eight. Now,

in Genesis one and two, we see how God made everything, and

indeed it was very good. Amen. There was nothing evil or bad at

the start. So the question is when did sin enter the world? So

we're going to look at Genesis chapters two and three, okay, and our

main passage will be from chapter three. Now, Adam and Eve, you

know, are God's amazing creation and they enjoy a close walk and relationship with

Father God. God made man and woman in his image. Wow, and

he breathed into them his breath of life. So they were then the son

and daughter of God. Isn't that so cool? They? You know,

we are actually made in God's image. We are his sons and daughters too.

And he placed Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden, and it

was perfect. It was a mirror of heaven. God wanted to mirror what

he experienced in heaven on earth, beautiful peace, joy, and Adam was

placed there to tend and keep the garden. The Lord had commanded Adam,

saying, of every tree of the garden you may freely eat, But of

the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, For

in the day that you eat of it, you shall surely die. Now,

this is Genesis chapter two, verse sixteen to seventeen. So a commandment

was given. Imagine that every tree, all of it, Adam and Eve

could eat of the fruit. Only one tree was not to be touched.

So what happened One day Satan came in the form of the serpent into the

garden and begin to cast doubt and question God's word. So in verse one

of chapter threeanesis chapter three, he says cunningly to Eve, has God indeed

said you shall not eat of every tree of the garden. But remember,

folks, Genesis chapter two, verse sixteen seventeen. We just read the Lord

God had said to Adam, of every tree of the garden you may freely

eat, But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall

not eat. Wow, look at the twist of that question, asking you

shall not eat? You shall not. And yet the Lord God said in

Genesis too, of every tree of the garden you may freely eat. Satan

was casting doubt, He was twisting the word of God, and he brought

this question to Eve. Now remember that Satan was one of the angels named

Lucifer, that God created beautifully created, but his heart was lifted up in

pride and he wanted to be like God, which later he led one third

of the angels to rebel against God. There was rebellion in heaven. So

he has been against God and God's people. He will constantly challenge and cause

them to turn away from God. And of all things, friends, why

was even entertaining a conversation with a serpent? Would you speak to a serpent?

Flee? My friends, why should we speak to a serpent or to

any animal? She responded to Satan what God had commanded, and then she

added to God's words, saying that they were not allowed even to touch the

tree less they die. But you know God never said you can't touch the

tree. So I don't know. Is it just being woman? We like

to add things? Now? Satan then reels out the bait and says,

in verse four, you will not surely die, for God knows that in

the day you eat of it, your eyes will be open and you will

be like God. Knowing good and evil. Satan made Eve to think that

God was withholding something good from them, that they are not like God.

But in actual fact, they were made in the image of God. Everything

beautiful, all wisdom and knowledge was already given to them. Yet while being

tempted, they were deceived by the lie of Satan. Adam what about him?

You know, Adam was with Eve the whole time, but he never

defended God's word or called to his wife to obey God's word. What was

going on in Adam's mind? The silence of Adam. You know, man

always has a choice, and so Adam had a choice. Eve had a

choice. And you can see that God never touched the free will of man,

even in the garden of Eden. So both Adam and Eve had a

choice to obey or to disobey. So with each callis step it led to

Adam and Eve to sin. They disobeyed God and they ate the fruit from

the tree that God had forbidden them to eat. And so that's how sin

entered the world. The immediate effects of sin are so apparent in the passage.

Adam and Eve felt the shame because of their nakedness. They felt the

need to cover themselves because they sensed their sin and their separation from their Holy

Father God. You read that in Genesis chapter three, verse seven. The

result of this disobedience, God cursed the ground and men would have to work

the ground with sweat. The woman would have a painful child bearing. Sin

affected Adam and Eve, but it also immediately affected the entire world that God

made. So this was the beginning of sin. This was how this disease

spread to our world. From that point onwards, friends, there was or

there has never been a day when sin has not been present in human lives,

hearts, and experience. This choice that Adam and Eve made to rebel

against God's word and disobey his commands caused sin to always be present in this

world. Adam and Eve lost their relationship with God. Genesis chapter three and

verse eight. It says that they heard the sound of the Lord God walking

in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife

hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.

Wow, they hid themselves, and yet God called out to men,

where are you Adam? And you know, Adam said, I heard your

voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked, and

I hid myself. The shame caused Adam and Eve to hide from the Lord.

Yet God, you know, would have a salvation plan to storm Man

to himself in the days to come. Man lost his dominion over Eden.

You read that in Genesis chapter three, verse twenty three. It is mercy

God made coverings for Adam and Eve. You know, Genesis three, verse

twenty one, God had to take an animal and sacrifice it where blood was

shed in order to make a covering for Adam and Eve to cover the nakedness

of the two of them. Before that they had sown fig leaves to cover

them was not good enough. And you know when you read verse twenty one

of Genesis three, it says also for Adam and his wife, the Lord

God made tunics of skin and clothe them. These tunics of skin came from

an animal that had to be sacrificed blood was shed. Today we know that

Christ is the al timid sacrifice to redeem us all from our sin ones and

for all. Aren't we so grateful that Jesus came and was obedient to go

all the way to the cross to take our sins that we may be forgiven

and be reconciled to God. Amen. So, friends, you know from

this passage we need to constantly be aware, alert to guard our hearts and

minds from the bit of Satan and the lives that he continues to throw at

us. There are no new tricks. They're the same ones that he threw

at Adam at Eve, and he still throws it to us to turn our

backs on God, thinking that God is withholding good from us. This is

so far from the truth. The truth is God loves us so much and

wants to give us true freedom and sonship in the Kingdom of God. We

don't want to lose our sonship, and Jesus has redeemed our sonship in his

kingdom. May we stand in the truth of God's word and choose to follow

Christ in complete surrender and obedience. Here in lies eternal life in Christ.

Jesus. Let us pray, Father, we thank you for giving us Jesus

your only son, to die on the cross for all mankind while we were

yet sinness. Thank you, Lord Jesus, that you died for us so

that we might be forgiven when we receive you that we may have reconciliation with

Father God. Thank you for making a way for us that we are able

to live in the freedom that God meant for us, and that we will

treasure our sonship as sons and daughters of God. Thank you for redeeming us

from the fall and for giving us new life. We hold this so dearly

in our lives. Thank you so much. Thank you Jesus, Thank you
