U-turn (Day 3) The curse and wages of sin | Pr Ronson Nagarajah

Good day everyone. Welcome to day three of our Utan Fast and Prayer.

My name is Ronson. I'm the church Blunt coordinator of ax NELI a shout

out to those of you who are in Nearli and also a shout out to

those of you who are in ex church locally and globally. I trust that

this Utan has been well for you, and I believe together with you that

God is going to do something amazing as you fast and pray. Today's topic

is the curse and wages of sin, taken from Genesis chapter three, Versus

nine to twenty four and Romans chapter six, verse twenty three. I'm going

to take today's reading from Romans chapter six, verse twenty three wall. It

says, for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God

is eternal life in Christ, our Lord. Today I have bad news and

good news for you. The bad news the wages and consequences of sin is

death. But hey, we have a good news here. The gift of

God is eternal life in Christ Jesus, our Lord. The term death here

also means a form of separation from God or, in other words, a

spiritual death. This coming may will be my twentieth year of becoming a Christian,

I pray that the Lord will give me many, many more years to

come. And you know, prior in becoming a Christian, when I was

twenty years old, now you probably would have guessed my age. I feel

like it's always avoid in my heart. There's no satisfaction, there's no peace,

no fulfilledment, no per purse. And after becoming a Christian, I

realized that this void, the emptiness in me, can only be filled by

Jesus himself. And now, after walking with the Lord for twenty years,

becoming a Christian doesn't mean I am perfect. Becoming a Christian doesn't mean that

I have never fallen. And those of you who have been Christian for some

time now you will know what I mean. But I'm going to say next

that every time when we're seen against God, something in us dies. We

don't quite see God, we don't quite feel God. We don't feel his

glory until we truly repent. And this is the ugly effect of seeing that

while we walk with Christ, when we sin and stumble, we don't quite

feel Him. Isn't it until we repent? So today we will look at

the first context of sin we know that anim and Eve broke God's commandment when

they were specifically commanded by God not to eat from the Tree of the Knowledge

of good and evil. But they were deceived by the serpent, who is

Satan himself, and subsequently they broke God's commandment. And the first consequences of

sin is basically death, because God told them that for in the day they

eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of good and evil, they shall die.

And we will look at the effect of sin during that time. In

Genesis chapter three was just nine to ten. It says, then the Lord

God called to Adam and said to him, where are you? So he

said, I heard your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because

I was naked, and I hid myself. Friends, sin causes us to

feel a shame, and sin causes us to be separated from God and his

glory. So what is sin? Sin basically means falling shot of the glory

of God, missing the mark that God has for us. You may ask

what is the glory of God? Or who is the glory of God?

John chapter one was fourteen says, and the word became flesh and dwelt among

us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as the only begotden of

the Father full of grace and truth. To me, Jesus Christ is the

standard of God's glory. Adam lost the standard of God's glory through his sin,

But Jesus he became the standard of God's glory when he led a sinless

life while he was on earth. So sin, to me also is anything

unlike Christ in my personality or day to day living is a sin, and

we are all guilty of this. First John chapter one eight says if we

say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not

in us. Ecclesiastics Chapter seven, verse twenty says, for there is not

a just man on earth who does good and does not sin. We thank

God for his son, Jesus Christ. Romans Chapter five was eighteen to nineteen.

Therefore, as true one man's of fans, judgment came to all men,

resulting in condemnation. Even so true one man's righteous act, the free

gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. For as by

one man's disobedience many were made seiness, so also by one man's obedience many

will be made righteous. You know that seem came from Adam's disobedience to God,

and because of that we were made seiness. But praise God. By

one man's obedience, many will be made righteous. And this man is Jesus.

Isaiah chapter sixty one was then said, I will greatly rejoice in the

Lord. My soul shall be joyful in my God, for he has clothed

me with the garments of salvation. He has covered me with the rope of

righteousness. Wow. I said, wow, because when you read Genesis chapter

three was twenty one. He says, also for Adam and his wife,

the Lord God made tunics of skin and clothe them. So this context gives

us the foreshadow of the coming of Jesus. You say, as I mentioned

earlier, sin causes shame. Because of shame, all of us need a

covering. Jesus became God's covering for us. He clothed us with a rope

of righteousness. So when the Lord made tunits of skin and covered Adam and

Eve, he symbolizes that God is covering their shame. Sin also causes us

to be separated from God, and because of separation, we need a reconciliation.

Jesus have made the way for us to be reconciled with God. So

Jesus have paid the price and the penalty of our sin John three sixteen.

For God so loved the world, they gave his only begonden Son, that

whosoever believe in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. Ultimately,

Jesus came to restore our rights as children of God. John Chapter one was

twelve. But as many as received him to him, he gave the right

to become children of God to those who would believe in his name. Friends,

scene robs your right as children of God. But Jesus he restores your

right. Before I end today, I want to make a few declarations over

your life. When you believe in Jesus, he gives you the right to

eternal life. He gives you the right to salvation. He gives you the

right to enter into God's presence. He gives you the right to healing,

to living kindness, to enjoying His tender mercies, and all good things that

you can find in Christ. So he has restored your right as a child

of God. So that's it for today's podcast. Our leaders, in a

very short prayer, Father, we thank you for your word today, we

thank you that it is a reminder that we should come to you God in

repentance to confess our sins, knowing that as we confess to Your God,

your faithful and just to cleanses and also to restore us, we thank you

for the gift of your son Jesus. And as we go through today,

God Lord, maybe be reminded that the rope of righteousness convert us that through

Jesus we are reconciled by to God. In Jesus name, we pray Amen.
