U-turn (Day 4) God is holy (1st mention) | Pr Jack Ling

Hello, friends. I hope you're having a meaningful time of prayer and fasting

this U turn, it is my privilege to bring you today's devotion from Leviticus

eleven, verse forty four. So let's begin by reading Leviticus eleven ver was

forty four. New King James version says, for I am the Lord your

God. You shall therefore consecrate yourselves, and you shall be holy. For

I am holy. Neither shall you defile yourselves with any creeping thing that creeps

on the earth. God bless the reading of his word. Indeed, in

the scripture, it is the first time that the Lord mentions I am holy.

He's introducing himself as holy, and he is inviting, or rather instructing

us, that those who are his people shall be holy. The verse begins

with for I am Lord your God. He's claiming to be the Lord God

who is in charge, and he has the right and the authority to say

these things and to instruct his people. He says, you shall therefore consecrate

yourselves, keep yourselves set upy different, not living the same way the other

people are living, not eating like them, not speaking like them, not

thinking like them, And you shall be holy. For I am holy,

You are my people, my children. I am your father, and you

shall be like me. I think different, I speak different, I act

different. This whole chapter is mostly about food that are clean and unclean,

food the people of God should eat and should not eat. God is involved

in our everyday life, including eating. The people of God just got out

of Egypt, and the people of Egypt were eating all kinds of things,

and these were what caused diseases and health problems. They were literally unclean and

cause diseases. Predators and scavengers, they were eating those, and they were

not suitable for people to consume. It could apply to us today. What

everyone else is consuming, what they are watching, what they listen to,

the conversations that they like to have, the things that they like to read.

Are they clean or unclean? Do they defile us or contribute to our

good health? The Lord is saying to us again, I am the Lord

your God. Therefore set your life apart, be holy as I am holy.

And it is also my privilege right now to lead us in a prayer

for unity among the leaders and partners of the Church. Our Father in heaven,

you are glorified through Christ Jesus Yes, your Son, our Savior,

who came to earth to live an overcoming life, even to the point of

death on the cross, you resurrected victoriously, bringing great glory to the Father.

And because of Christ and the gift of the Holy Spirit, we now

have the Church an acts is part of your precious body, your bride,

whom you love. And with this, may we love your bride, your

church, whom you have sent us to and maybe not gossip or attack our

own brothers and sisters, or the leaders you have placed in authority the leaders,

and maybe not cause disunity, but rather let us build one another up

by knowing the truth, and that we may honor one another. I pray

that every church plant, local and global, will be one with each other,

and especially one with Christ, our King, as Christ himself prayed in

John seventeen was twenty three, that they may become perfectly one, that they

may know that you sent me and loved them, just as you loved me.

Lord, We bless your holy name and worship you in our unity.
