U-turn (Day 6) The first sacrifice to atone for Man’s sin | Eld Shirley Wong

Hello, Hello, welcome today's six of our twenty one days prayer and fast.

I hope all of you are enjoying your fasting time and you made it

today's six. Hallelujah. Yes, let me introduce myself. My name is

Shirley or most of you coming Elder Shirley, and welcome to the fourteenth of

March. It is my privilege and pleasure to share a short devotion with you.

And the scripture that we are looking at today is taken from Genesis,

Genesis chapter three. We are looking at verse twenty one. So Genesis chapter

three is started by accounting the fall of man, you know, all the

temptations of man, and how Adam and Eve fell you know, by eating

the fruit from the tree that they were not supposed to touch. So that

is Genesis that's found in Genesis chapter three, verse one to twenty and today

we are looking at verse twenty one. So the NK version of Genesis chapter

three, verse twenty one reads this Also for Adam and his wife, the

Lord God made tunics of skin and clothed them. So I always like to

also refer to the King James version. So the King James version of Genesis

chapter three, verse twenty one says, and to Adam also and to his

wife, did the Lord God make colds of skins and clothe them? Yes?

So here basically, if you read from Genesis chapter three, verse one

to verse twenty, you would see how the spun tempted and lied to Eve

and then and then uh that somehow got both Eve and Adam uh to eat

the fruit from the tree that they were not supposed to touch, you know,

in the garden and uh and and that's how their eyes were opened.

And then they realized and saw that they were both naked. And then they

sold thick leaves together, and then they made themselves coverings, you know.

And then they heard the sound of the Lord walking in the garden, and

then they began to hide, to hide, trying to hide from the presence

of God uh among the trees of the garden. You know. Of course

you might think, hey, that's funny, because God made the garden.

Where else can you hide? Right? I mean, God made the garden.

He he knows exactly how the garden looks like. And he obviously know

where Adam and Eve are, you know. And God called out to Adam

and say where are you? You know. And then and then Adam replied,

you know, hek, God, I heard your voice. I was

afraid because I was naked, so I hit myself. So that's that the

hiding and the shame and the realization of the nakedness only happened after after the

fall of men, after they have sinned, and sin entered st sin entered

the world of the humans or men, and then they they realized that they

were naked, and they they hid, they tried to hide themselves, you

know. So and yet in verse twenty one, it says that also for

Adam and his wife, the Lord God made tunics of skin and clothed them.

And you know, in the Bible, whenever we read about tunics or

garments, it's something that you put on and you clothe, you know,

it often symbolizes righteousness. And here it says that God made tunics of skin

to clothe them, to cover them, to cover their nakedness, to cover

their their shame or that that just reminds me of how very often, how

God so graciously provided a garment for us to cover our nakedness, to cover

our mistakes, you know. And and honestly, honestly, men didn't deserve

that covering because men this obeyed God, I mean Adam, and if this

obeyed God and ran away and hid themselves, and yet God came and made

the tunics of skin and cover them not right there, and then I saw

how a loving God he is, and how how a gracious God he is,

and he's so full of grace. He came, he forgave, and

and and he made that that garment to cover to cover up Adam, to

cover up Eve, you know. And many times I myself felt that way

that when I when I fell, you know, when I when I made

a mistake, when I tried to run away from God and all. And

and yet God came and he forgave, and he and he lifted us up,

you know, I mean he lifted me up, and he covered me,

you know. And and that garment he put on a robe, a

garment of righteousness on us, on me, And that is totally undeserving for

me, you know, because I I didn't think that I would deserve that.

And yet God, because of love, he covered us like that to

cover up man's nakedness and shame, and and the Bible to say that God

made that two NICs of skin you know, or the King James versions is

Lord. God make codes of skin. So God made and that speaks of

his provision. He made the government, He made the tunics of skin.

We the man of humans. We did not need to make it ourselves.

God provided. He is Jehovah, Jirah. He made all things possible,

you know, He made, He provides. This is truly an act of

grace, a gift of grace, like salvation is a gift of grace.

You know, we don't deserve it, We can't earn it. There's nothing

that we can do to make ourselves worthy of that. And yet because of

grace, because of love God, God saved us. You know. So

today even as we are at day six of our u turn, you know,

as we think about God, as we are reading from Genesis ship to

three, verse twenty one, I encourage all of us to remember, just

like how God make that code to cover at m Eve, God still is

faithful and God still is gracious, and he today he will still come and

make that code to cover us. You know, as long as you turn,

as long as we come back to God, as long as we repent

and come before God. And yeah, I said God, I can't,

but you can God. I was wrong, No, I was lost,

and I come back to you. I tell you what, every day it

is a good day to come before God. And you are never too late.

You're never too late to come back to God. And yeah, we

can always come back to our loving Father. So today it's a good day.

Even as you are fasting, as you are praying, I encourage all

of us to remember how gracious He is. Our journey of faith started not

because of our own strength, not because of our own effort, but it's

truly by grace, and salvation is a gift of grace. So remembering where

it all started from grace, and even as we carry on. Yes,

there are days where where we feel distant from God, where we feel far

away, or where we made mistakes, or where we chose to rebel and

sway, you know, but come back, come back, come back.

And it's only by His grace that we can come back. We don't deserve

it, we don't feel like we deserve it. And yet God has already

made all things possible, just like how he made their coat, He made

all things possible for you and I to come back to Him, to come

back to our loving Father to come back to its embrace. To you,

turn and come back to him and seek his face. Amen. So I

pray that today you would experience God's grace in a whole new level. Amen.

Allow me to lead us who pray and seal his word and what is

speaking to each and every one of us today. Come, let's pray,

Let's bow our heads, let's close our eyes. Thank you Jesus, Thank

you Lord, Thank you Lord, oh Shiani, thank you, Lord Father.

We thank you for today that today is the day that you have made,

and therefore we will rejoice and be glad in it. Lord. Every

day is a gift from you. It's a gift, a gift of grace,

is a present from you. Lord. And Lord, today, as

we look at Genesis chapter three, verse twenty one, we remember your grace.

We remember what you have done for us. We remember what you have

done for Adam and Eve, and even until until today, you are still

doing for us. Lord, thank you for the gift of salvation. It

is truly a gift of grace. Lord. We thank you, We thank

you Lord. Today we want to say that we love you, Lord,

and we come back to you Lord, from wherever we are each and every

one of us are on a journey, though we might be at the different

stops, but and yet we are on a journey, on the same journey

of faith. Lord, help us, Holy Spirit, to finish this race.

Help us, Holy Spirit, to continue victoriously and courageously to pick up

from wherever we left on, to pick up, to pick ourselves up whatever

we fall. Today, we say that God, we want to come back

to you. We want to you, turn back to you. We want

to continue to walk on the path, on the way that you have set

for us. Lord, Help us to remain faithful to You, Lord,

all the days of our lives and Lord to day. And as we continue

on with our lives, not with our daily life. Father, we pray

that you will guide us, that you will lead us. But as we

walk this journey of faith, this journey is full of your grace. Lord,

Help us to also remember the people around us. Help us to also

to extend the grace to the people around us. Help us to continue to

shine for you, Lord. For truly, Lord, you have called us

to be the salt of the earth and the light of this world. So

Holy Spirit, empower us. Give us this day our daily bread give us

your grace that we can continue to live for you. Lor God bless every

person here in Jesus name. We pray a man Amen. So God bless

you have a great day ahead. And uh may may the grace of our

Lord Jesus Christ follow you every day of your life. Amen. And
