  1. Good morning listeners. To day is day twelve of U turn, and to

  2. day our topic of devotion is the Old Testament prophecy of Jesus's betrayal for thirty

  3. shekels of silver. I'm John from ex Singapore, and to day we will

  4. be reading from Zacharai eleven twelve to thirteen and met you twenty six fourteen to

  5. fifteen. Zachariah eleven twelve to thirteen says, then I said to them,

  6. if it is agreeable to you, give me my wages, and if not,

  7. refrain. So they weighed out for my wages thirty pieces of silver.

  8. And the Lord said to me, throw it to the potter that princely prize

  9. they set on me. So I took the thirty pieces of silver and threw

  10. them into the house of the Lord for the potter. I will encourage you

  11. to read the whole of chapter eleven, because that will give us the context

  12. of what we're reading to day. You'll find that Zachariah was prophesying against Israel.

  13. God was calling out the evil ways shepherds were were only interested in riches,

  14. not doing what they were supposed to do, not caring for the oppressed.

  15. The poor, and those in me as such. God was saying that

  16. he bring about a consequence upon them. And then we reach verse twelve,

  17. which says, throw it to the potter that princely prize they said on me.

  18. God was saying, there would come a day when men will value God's

  19. worth no more than thirty pieces of silver. Back in those days, thirty

  20. pieces of silver is no more than the wage of a servant. That was

  21. how little men will value God. And indeed came to pass because in Matthew

  22. twenty six fourteen, verse fifteen, we read then one of the twelve,

  23. called Judas is carret went to the chief priests and said, what are you

  24. willing to give me if I deliver him to you? And they countered out

  25. to him thirty pieces of silver. My brothers and sisters, today what we

  26. read is one of the pieces of evidence that Jesus is the Messiah. Jesus

  27. was betrayed for no more than thirty pieces of silver, and dead fulfilled the

  28. Old Testament prophecy that God gave I will be given, I will be value

  29. thirty pieces of silver. And there we had Jesus when Judas is carried,

  30. when the chief priests they said he's worth your betrayal of Jesus is worth thirty

  31. pieces of silver. But before we close today's devotion, I think this passage

  32. also speaks to us personally, not just as evidence of who God is giving

  33. him credibility as the Messiah. But I believe this passage speaks to us in

  34. a manner that says all of us will have a Judas is carried moment.

  35. The word of God says that our flesh is at enmity with God. Our

  36. flesh will always be against God. And there will come a time where each

  37. and every one of us will be in a situation that Judas found himself in.

  38. We will have to make a choice. Do we choose thirty of silver

  39. or do we choose Jesus. Remember, Judas went to the priest saying,

  40. what will you give me? He had not decided to betray Jesus, but

  41. upon hearing what they had to offer, he finally made his choice. What

  42. is your thirty pieces of silver? I want you to read that verse again,

  43. and now put your name instead of Judas there, and instead of the

  44. chief priest, put the world. He will read something like this. John

  45. goes to the world and asks, what are you willing to give me.

  46. If I give up Jesus for you, I will tell you mine. In

  47. my life, there has been many thirty pieces of silver. At one point

  48. of time it was video games. I know, video games. It really

  49. pales in comparison to what the Bible says. God will give the life,

  50. the abandons, the promises that He has for us. By one point of

  51. time, I was choosing video games. It consumed all my time. There

  52. was nothing left over for the law. And if I think, if I

  53. continue down from that path, I will not be here to day where I

  54. am. But sometimes you know, this is how blind we can be when

  55. in front of us all we can see is the thirty pieces of silver,

  56. and we think that is worth more than the blood of Christ. I pray,

  57. my friends, that if to day the Holy Spirit is prompting you,

  58. that you will say this prayer with me. Because God loves each and every

  59. one of us so much. We are his sons and we are his daughters.

  60. Remember what God gave for you, his one and only son. Will

  61. you give him your whole heart instead of choosing that thirty pieces of silver.

  62. If the Holy Spirit is speaking to you, pray this prayer with me.

  63. Lord, in my hands are thirty pieces of silver. That is how much

  64. I am willing to treat the world for you. I repent o, Lord,

  65. for I did not know who who was before me. You are more

  66. precious than anything I have I can have in the world. You are like

  67. that pearl that is worth giving up everything for to find it, to seek

  68. it. And so Lord, I lay down these thirty pieces of silver,

  69. and I give you my heart. Come into my life, Lord, fill

  70. me with your love, and reveal to me who you are. My brothers

  71. and sisters. I want to pray for you that if you said that prayer,

  72. the Lord will indeed reveal himself to you, just like how he revealed

  73. himself to me. There is so much more than what the world can offer

  74. that Jesus can give to you. All it takes is just coming before him

  75. to find a relationship with him. So I pray that you will know him

  76. in a greater manner than before. That he will break your heart for what

  77. breaks his, that you will hate the things that he will hate. And

  78. before we go, I want to remember ex Melbourne as well. Rather,

  79. we pray that you will grow the church, that they will grow deeper in

  80. love with you, that they as they set themselves apart for you, you

  81. will show them great and mighty things. We pray for signs and wonders to

  82. follow the word that goes forth in your church, that people will be set

  83. free, people will be healed, and people will be delivered. We thank

  84. you Lord. We pray more and more souls will come into the church in

  85. Melbourne, that they will know You as their Lord and Savior. In Jesus

  86. name, we pray Amen.
