  1. You're listening to an ex church podcast. We hope this message will lights up

  2. your thing. This is a very cute title. When I first opened the

  3. word of God in Exodus chapter thirty six, and that's where we're going to

  4. in a bit. But just look at the title first. It started with

  5. me just wanting to encourage all of us to build the house of God.

  6. Let's look at point number one. What's the title again? The title is

  7. how to build anything for God? How to build anything for God. The

  8. first W that I have five ws for you today. The first W is

  9. the word word is the word word. So the Bible says in Eccodus thirty

  10. six that we've read verse one, shall do according to all that the Lord

  11. has commanded. The Lord commanded, and that's why they're doing it. It's

  12. a very good reminder this morning to build according to God's word. We all

  13. need some reminders sometimes because in our lives there are many voices, both good

  14. and not so good. But there are many voices, many voices, and

  15. even sometimes you know, when you are going into internet, Instagram or Facebook,

  16. you even get messages from there, and sometimes the sound very good.

  17. You know, they give scripture and they sound like, wow, you know

  18. this sounds like it's from the Lord. But I want to encourage all of

  19. you that God is a good God. He's your father, and he wants

  20. only the best for you. So what he does that he will put a

  21. word in your own heart that it's personal to you. It's like a grammar

  22. to you. It's a word that might not be easy, and usually it's

  23. not, but it's a word from the Lord that you need to whole very

  24. dearly too. You know, there's another scripture that says, like John chapter

  25. fifteen, verse seven, if you abide in me and my words abide in

  26. you, My words have got to abide in you, you will ask whatever

  27. you desire and you will be done. For you can imagine, you can

  28. build anything, you can ask whatever you desire, and you'll be done.

  29. But the prerequisite is abide in me and let my words abide in you.

  30. My question to all of us is is the word of God abiding in you?

  31. What is that word? What is that word? So the word of

  32. the Lord to Bazeleel and our wol yup. Actually I should back up a

  33. little bit and say the word of the Lord to Moses was built, and

  34. so God was going to provide. God was going to provide. And we'll

  35. see that in a bit and show you that in life, the Christian life,

  36. there can be situations whereby we get a word from the outside that sounds

  37. really good, and then we also have a word on the inside that the

  38. Lord has given us. As I said earlier, that we tend to compromise

  39. because the word on the outside sounds so good, better even than the word

  40. inside of you. And the word on the outside sounds so reasonable, so

  41. normal. The word or the insights sounds so crazy. The word of the

  42. insights sounds so radical. The word on the insight sounds like fiery revival.

  43. And you're scared. And now you're looking for, you know, some kind

  44. of confirmation or some kind of people around you to tell you something else besides

  45. what God has told you. Okay, So I'm going to read this and

  46. we will find it even in scripture. Men and women of God. Actually

  47. most of them are men here, if not all of them men of God

  48. have actually had a conflict before. But at the end, you know,

  49. God wants us to be true and faithful to the word. So let's start

  50. with David in First Samuel twenty four we'll read the word of God, and

  51. I will just comment a little bit. And the more we read, the

  52. less of comment. Okay. Then the men of David said to him,

  53. this is the day of which the Lord said to you. Behold, I

  54. will deliver your enemy into your hand, that you may do to him as

  55. it seems good to you. And David rose and secretly cut off a corner

  56. of Saul's row. I mean, there was no right thinking men around David

  57. who would have called Saul anointed. I'm quite sure if you said Saul was

  58. not anointed anymore, you'll probably not be wrong. But David looked at Saul,

  59. not with his own eyes, not with his men's eyes, but with

  60. God's eyes. And in God's eyes he chose Saul. And so David says,

  61. forbid, God, forbid. He is God's anointed. I cannot stretch

  62. out my hand against him, seeing he is the anointed of the Lord.

  63. And there's a scripture in the Bible that says do not touch the Lord's anointed.

  64. So there's two conflicting words now, one in David and one with his

  65. men, who say, yeah, David, the Lord has delivered who I

  66. use the lords Nama, the Lord has delivered you. Come on, take

  67. him down now and you'll be free. But David knew that he will never

  68. be free. Even after he took down Saul. He'll probably be more bound

  69. than free. Are you with me? Bow by guilt? Bow by regret?

  70. Bowm by. I shouldn't have because I knew what God's word was.

  71. I knew what God's word was. My friends could say whatever, leave church

  72. LA, or don't serve LA, or they can say whatever. But what

  73. what does God say to my own heart? So that's the first thing I

  74. want to say to you. Well, the next verse, I think he

  75. just he just says this, right? What was the next verse says so

  76. David restrained his servants with these words and did not allow them to rise against

  77. Saul. And Saul got up from the cave and went on his way.

  78. So you will say, oh, you're wasted. Lah is never wasted when

  79. you're obey God, never wasted when your bay God. Next one, let's

  80. look at the man of God, the man of God in the Old Testament,

  81. who did great and wonderful things. If if you really on your own

  82. time, you'll see that this man of God came and when he spoke you

  83. know, things happen in a miraculous way. Okay, so much show that

  84. the king invited the men of God back to his house to eat. How

  85. many of us here will be bold enough to reject invitations from high level men

  86. and authority, you know, just because of the word. It doesn't make

  87. sense to your friends. Hey you gola, you go, you get contract,

  88. Hey you gola, you get you know, favor, Hey you gola,

  89. you get money? Hey you gola? You know? They will,

  90. they will, they will remember you the next time. But the word of

  91. the Lord, it's God, it's on me. I would like to go

  92. in normal circumstance. I will go normal circumstances. This way, I will

  93. li church like everybody else leads church. No, I want to lead according

  94. to the command. So let's go on now. An all prophet dwelt in

  95. Bethel, and his sons came and told him all the works that the Man

  96. of God had done that day in Bethel. They also told their father the

  97. words which he had spoken to the king next one, and their father said

  98. to them, which way did he go? For his sons had seen which

  99. way the Man of God went, who came from Judah. Then he said

  100. to his son, said to the donkey for me. So they said,

  101. a donkey for him, and he wrote on it and went after the Man

  102. of God and found him sitting under an oak. Then he said to him,

  103. are you the man of God who came from Judah? And he said

  104. I am. Then he said to him, come home with me and eat

  105. bread. And he said, I cannot good on you. Good on you.

  106. You're still faithful to the word that God gave you. You're still faithful.

  107. I cannot, I cannot go. I cannot return with you, nor

  108. go in with you. Neither can I eat bread nor drink water with you

  109. in this place. Next one, for I've been told by the word of

  110. the Lord. Amen, you shall not eat bread nor drink water there,

  111. nor return by going the way you came. Is it doesn't make sense?

  112. How if I'm thirsty? Let how have I'm hungry? Let doesn't make sense?

  113. But what did Ad tell you? You want to hold onto that word?

  114. Next one, he said to him, I too, am a prophet.

  115. So now an all experienced profit comes to you in a form of a

  116. person or a book, or an Instagram posting or a Facebook you know,

  117. three minute message. Wow, this old prophet. I know him, he's

  118. really really famous, popular, and the old prophet has something else to say,

  119. and you get so caught up, and sometimes it's very dangerous, or

  120. to go after one posting after another, posting after another posting is very dangerous

  121. because you're now freeing up your mind and your heart with things that may not

  122. be from the Lord and maybe totally different from what God has showed you.

  123. So I too, am a prophet. So he's lying now, he's lying

  124. about God telling him, no angel he uses now. And I want to

  125. tell you right now, even if an angel came and told you something opposite

  126. then what God told you, Please be very very careful, be very very

  127. faithful to the Lord. Bring him back with you to your house that he

  128. may eat bread and drink all right, lying, he was definitely lying,

  129. Okay, So a prophet can lie too. Sadly, the God was using

  130. him. And the next one says, so he ran back with him.

  131. Somebody say, I you because right after you read this verse, you know

  132. what's going on in it. And there are a lot of times in our

  133. own lives we have a verse like this. We know the end of the

  134. story. Of course, thank God that he's merciful, he's gracious, he's

  135. a god of second chances, so we can come to him for mercy.

  136. But many of us have this line, simple line. This is one of

  137. the shortest line we're reading. Bye enough for me, because you know the

  138. end from the beginning. He went back, of course, of prophet,

  139. because one other word came and said, Noah, I don't think so,

  140. lie, No, I also heard from the Lord. Many of our regrets

  141. come from that place of actually not going to God first and checking with him

  142. first. It comes from a place whereby oh, I see, oh,

  143. just because very famous name all prophet, very famous. Lie. Well,

  144. he caught me and told me, you know, no, even then you

  145. must take it back to the Lord and double triple check with him, say

  146. Lord, the man might have a good word, but I need a God

  147. word next one. Now, it happened, as they said at the table,

  148. that the word of the Lord came to the prophet who had brought him

  149. back, and he cried out to the man of God who came from Judah,

  150. saying, first, says the Lord, because you have disobeyed the word

  151. of the Lord and have not kept the commandment which the Lord, your God

  152. commanded you. But you came back and ate bread drank water in the place

  153. of which the Lord said to you. Eat no bread, eat drink no

  154. water. Your cops very setter. Sometimes it's not physical death that it can

  155. be spiritual death. It can be death to a dream, that's to a

  156. destiny, that's to something that God actually wanted to give you. But we

  157. short changed him and shortcut and shortsuc ated you with me. And because somebody

  158. sticks so long, but God, it takes so long. So how long

  159. must I wait? And what did the Lord tell you? So here we

  160. go, Your cops shall not come back. So so it was after he

  161. had eaten bread and after he had drunk that he said to the donkey for

  162. him, the prophet whom he had brought back. And when he was gone,

  163. a lion met him on the road and killed him and his cops was

  164. thrown on the road, and the donkey stood by it. The lion also

  165. stood by the cops. You know, when I literally this last part,

  166. I still see you that God still honored the man. He had the lion

  167. sit on one side of the man, donkeys sit on another side. The

  168. lion didn't eat him up, didn't carry him apart, you know, killed

  169. him, but you know kind of I mean, you still can give a

  170. going away honor to people who are going away are and people who are whatever

  171. you know, leaving the ministry or whatever, we can still honor them,

  172. bless them. Listen, death awaits us who will go far away from the

  173. word of the Lord. So the Bible after says that you know, we

  174. shall do according to all that he commanded, or the word of God.

  175. He goes. He goes on to say, Moses cop besly and hurl up,

  176. and every gifted artisan in whose heart the Lord had put wisdom, everyone

  177. whose heart was stirred to come to do the work. And if you read

  178. on again all the way to verse eight again, you will see the work,

  179. the word work mentioned so many times because this is the thing. God

  180. did not just come here to entertain us. He came here to employ us

  181. to do his work. I want to tell you earlier so that I don't

  182. forget to tell you this Jesus that when you read the Bible, he very

  183. seldom talked about job. He always talked about work. He says, I

  184. must go about my father's business. Whatever I see my father do, I

  185. do the works that he do, I do. And then he goes on

  186. to John fourteen, verse twelve and fourteen. He says, the works that

  187. I do, you shall do also, not job, but not job.

  188. The works that I do shall do also, and greater works, and these

  189. shall you do. I love John four thirty four because the disciples came and

  190. said the reading, and Jesus is my food is to do the will of

  191. him who sent me, and to finish his work. It's always been work.

  192. And so if you ever want to build something great for God, number

  193. one, build it on his word. Number two, focus on the work

  194. that He has given you to do. It is not a job, It

  195. is the work of the Lord. I want to introduce to you towards very

  196. quickly before I go on, the gifted and the givers. The gifted are

  197. people like Bezalel and a whole app and they were gifted because they from Heaven

  198. got the designs to be able to do linen, cloth and silverware and gold,

  199. and they were able to didn't need They knew exactly how, and what

  200. God wanted was to allay the goal over the ark. They knew. They

  201. knew because God gave them that. But it was not just to make more

  202. money. It's not just to find a girlfriend. It's not just to find

  203. a husband. It is the work of the Lord is very important to God.

  204. And so the gifted were gifted for the work and the givers. So

  205. there are some people who are not the gifted once they are the givers.

  206. But both the gifted and the givers must come hand in hand to build God's

  207. house and hear hood, Amen, it is the work that is our purpose,

  208. that is why we were born. Is the work of God, not

  209. just a job. Remember me telling you before, maybe not sending pause,

  210. but maybe send Paus heard this illustration before so that there was two men digging

  211. a hole, one on the left, one or right, and another man

  212. came up to them, asking what are you doing, sir the first man.

  213. The first man said, you can't see. I'm digging a hole.

  214. That's my job. To the other men, who knew the plan of why

  215. he was digging the hole, he was asked the same question, what are

  216. you doing? He says, I'm building a great cathedral. And so I

  217. wonder how many of you will just see your life as a big job.

  218. And that's all to life, and that's why you see my job is killing

  219. me. I got so much stress. I want to retire from my job.

  220. I want to resign. And then there is a man who knows exactly

  221. why he's building a hole, and it's so that the Cathedral of God can

  222. be built. I'm part of the plan, I'm part of the purpose,

  223. and it invigorates me every morning when I build her. That the whole Amen

  224. inspires me. So let's go go on to the next slide. There's a

  225. big difference between your job and your work. Some of you have heard this

  226. message before, others have not, So give me a few minutes to break

  227. this down. Too many of us are concentrated on our job when we should

  228. be focused on our work, the work of the Lord. So let's look

  229. at the difference. Now, your job is given by men, but your

  230. work is given by God. That's what the next slide says. If you

  231. can go do that, there's a difference. There's a difference. Someone offered

  232. you a job. God didn't offer you a job. He offered you work

  233. of the Kingdom, work of the ministry, work of getting the Gospel out

  234. of those who have never heard it. There is a work to fill the

  235. earth. Amen, that all may know your job, you're paid to do

  236. your work, you're born to do. Your job gives you finances, but

  237. your work gives you fulfillment. And that's why sometimes our job can fulfill us.

  238. He just gives us enough to put food on our table and maybe used

  239. to buy things that we are you know that we desire, but never get

  240. for fullman n never get for fuman. Why because it's not supposed to be

  241. your job that fulfills you. It's supposed to be your work. And can

  242. you do your work in your job, yes, yes. Can you find

  243. your work in your job, yes, but you got to find it otherwise

  244. it's just a job. You can be fired for your job, but nobody

  245. can fire you from your work because it's the work from the Lord. It's

  246. forever. I retired as a senior pastor of x KL when I was fifty

  247. years old, right, I retired. Actually, if you look at it,

  248. if I can explain to you from a job from a day to day,

  249. and person will tell people, who said, who will ask her,

  250. Sandra, actually, what do your husband do? We heard that he's resigned

  251. and retired, not resigning. I just retired And she said, well,

  252. he's still very much part of X and he still gives vision because that's my

  253. work. That's the work God gave me as a pastor of this church.

  254. So I don't have to do my daily job anymore. I can retire from

  255. that, but I cannot retire from my calling, my work. God still

  256. gives me vision for the church. I will not retire from blessing other churches.

  257. When you invite me to go ahead and speak, that is my work.

  258. Don't retire from that, or you will totally short change what God has

  259. in store. Are you still with me? Very important? Your job is

  260. determined by your skill. Your work is determined by your gift. Why did

  261. God give you the gift? And does that gift disappear just because you put

  262. in your resignation at the No, it doesn't. In fact, it comes

  263. to life. It comes alife more and more until you're sixty seventy eighty.

  264. I did a bidow before the lock calls you home. The gift comes alive,

  265. and you find yourself stepping into your gift in greater measures. Somebody say,

  266. amen, I hate my job. Nobody says I hate my work.

  267. You shouldn't say that I hate my job. Fair enough, this job is

  268. killing me. Yeah, because job ends up with and that's why a lot

  269. of people don't stay in their job, because you know, retirement or resionation

  270. or changing another job will probably save you from dying out of stress, but

  271. job does that to you. It's death at the end of the day,

  272. no matter how you see it. You might be doing good things, you

  273. know, producing good things, making other people happy, but your job will

  274. never make you totally happy. But your work will everybody okay, and your

  275. work is what brings you life. We hope you've been blessed by this message.
