You're listening to a message to go from acts church.
-
We hope this message will light up your day.
-
We are called to preach the gospel.
-
Yes, we are called to make disciples, and we've got
-
to remember our calling because whenever you work outside your calling,
-
there is darkness and danger. So we have to be
-
very careful how we assume and presume, because if we
-
walk outside that calling, we walk outside our covering and
-
we walk outside our protection. God promises to be with
-
us when we are walking in his will and in
-
his ways. There is no promise that he will do
-
the same if we are walking outside his will, walking
-
outside his ways, walking outside his word. And I said promise,
-
meaning you know, unless you can find me a clear
-
promise that God says that even if you walk outside
-
my will my ways were you know that I will
-
still you know, know that I don't see any scripture
-
like that. But there's many more promises that if you
-
would obey me, if you would, you know, do it
-
my way, if you would do my will, you know,
-
he says, and low, I will be with you until
-
the end of the age. Never do anything outside your
-
call or rather, so I say, don't leave your call
-
Romans one one. Paul was very clear about his calling
-
Paul in Romans one one. And it's not just Romans
-
one one lies in a couple of scriptures or so.
-
Usually Paul starts like this, Paul a born servant of
-
Jesus Christ.
-
Wow.
-
Immediately he knew he was a servant of the Lord,
-
not just servant, a bond servant. And you know what
-
bond servant is, right. A bond servant is one who,
-
after he is given the chance to be free, says,
-
I don't want to be free.
-
I want to serve you forever. And the Master takes
-
him or her.
-
Usually him to the door post of the house and
-
nails and pierces his ear to the door post.
-
Right. You know that? Uh?
-
And it's a mark that I'm a bond I chose
-
to be bound to this Master. And you call, and
-
Paul calls himself that, and he said, called to be
-
an apostle. Wow, he knows, you know, clearly he's called
-
to be an apostle. And he said, separated to the
-
Gospel of God. I like Romans one one, because in
-
that short sentence there are three clear things. I am
-
a servant, I'm an apostle, and all this so that
-
I can preach the gospel.
-
Separated to the Gospel of God.
-
And so at the end of the day, Paul is
-
constantly going back to the reason why God gave him
-
all these things and is so.
-
That the Gospel can be preached Ephicients four one to three.
-
I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord Wow beseech you
-
to what worthy of the calling with which you were called?
-
Do you know the word worthy, translated in the Greek
-
is the words balancing the scales. In Greek, worthy means
-
balancing the skills. So to be worthy is to live
-
a life balance in accordance to God's call. So God
-
has called you already, that's who you are. So you've
-
got to measure up to that call. That call cannot
-
come down to your standard. You and I have to
-
rise up to this center. And even if it takes
-
you twenty years, keep going because his call will never
-
come down to our comfort. I'm gonna say it again,
-
his call will never come down to our comfort. We've
-
got to keep on balancing the scales. So worthy that
-
you talking about worthy, how are you worthy? You balance
-
the scales? Worthy means I measure up right now, I'm
-
worthy to worthy of his calling.
-
In a way he calls you apossibly, he means you're
-
a possile.
-
You want to call yourself maybe a postle, call yourself
-
maybe a possible, But you're still a possible. You get
-
what I'm saying. And there is no twenty percent pastor.
-
So you know, God says, oh you're a pastor, or
-
I'm fifty percent, because I'm fifty percent the church fifty percent.
-
You know in my company, there's no such thing. He
-
calls you that you are. Now all of us just
-
measure up by his grades. We can amen. So I'm
-
going to read it again. I therefore, the prisoner of
-
the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling
-
with which you were called, with all loneliness and gentleness,
-
with long suffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring
-
to keep the unity of the spirit in the born
-
of peace. One more scripture, then I'll move on first
-
Peter two nine. You all know it, but you are
-
a chosen generation, wow, a royal priesthood, a holy nation,
-
his own special people, that you may proclaim the praises
-
of Him who called you out of darkness into his
-
marvelous light. You know, once in a while, we as
-
leaders and even our people in church partners have to
-
be reminded of our calling, that we were called by God,
-
because sometimes there's so many voices and so many things
-
that happen in our lives that we forget it's actually
-
that purely that you know, it's not even about whether
-
we agree don't agree, whether it's modern, whether it's old school.
-
It's not about all these things. Sometimes we argue about no,
-
whether people like this or not, it's about a calling.
-
It's really about our calling. And we continue to do
-
this because we've been caught. You know, I'm not sure
-
whether Elvin received my slides heart truths about calling. You
-
need to know heart truth Heart truth just means no excuses.
-
And let me show you very quickly. Calling doesn't need money,
-
meaning that it's good to have money. But even if
-
we don't have a you still a call, right, you
-
better find a way to measure up to your calling,
-
even if you don't have money.
-
Number two, college doesn't need friends.
-
So if all your friends leave you or you're still
-
calling all right, sometimes we go like, oh, my friends
-
are no longer here, So you know, at number three. Uh,
-
calling doesn't need reason. Everybody's trying for a reason. No,
-
to fulfill your call. Your call is your reason. Number
-
four calling doesn't need rewards. People, What was it? What
-
is it in for me?
-
Or what? What? What is? How do you go to
-
the English phrase? Yeah, what's in it? What's in it
-
for I was speaking tongues? What's in it for me? Yeah?
-
Everybody's asking that. Number five Calling doesn't need success. So
-
how I ain't got twenty people at the end of
-
my time. I've just been faithfuler right, No, but you
-
know you're not two hundreds, so you know successful? Hello?
-
You know I didn't. I didn't enterity to be successful.
-
I entered this to be faithful.
-
Number six Calling doesn't need validation, and I know a
-
lot of people are going around here. Will validate me first,
-
then I serve I thought you were saving the Lord.
-
Now I'm not.
-
When I say it doesn't need that, it doesn't mean
-
that it's not good to have It's very different. It's
-
good to have money, it's good to have friends, but
-
it doesn't need to fulfill it.
-
Yeah.
-
Number seven, it doesn't need persuasion. People keep going persuading,
-
persuading people be a leader. Please be a leader, and
-
so on and so forth. Number eight, Colling doesn't need satisfaction.
-
I don't feel satisfied, law after seven years of being here, right.
-
I never see the Bible saying you must be satisfied
-
to fulfill your calling, right, I don't know how many
-
people have actually finished a callinger actually not fully satisfied.
-
So the Lord never said you must.
-
But I mean, because you know why in this life
-
we are all you know, we're working for satisfaction, you know,
-
so we are not satisfying the company you want to leave, Okay,
-
I mean, use the way of the world if you
-
want to.
-
Deal with the world.
-
Maybe it's not totally wrong like that, of course, it's
-
better to use the way of the lotler. But okay, fine, well, well,
-
but when you come into the church and the King
-
of God, you gotta you gotta go flow with a
-
different spirit, all right, So don't don't forget about satisfaction.
-
I know you might not be satisfied, but never mind,
-
I'm gonna stick for fill my con Number nine.
-
You see how fast I'm going appreciation?
-
Okay, maybe say with a validation, all right, so I
-
know we are we are you know, we're big on apprecition,
-
dinners and appresion this and pression that. Right Again, doesn't
-
mean it doesn't need that or we shouldn't have, but
-
it's not.
-
It's not the most important thing, all right.
-
Number nine, Number ten, Calling doesn't need comparisons really, so
-
you're comparing me with who you know, and so people
-
like to compare one church down the street, do you
-
know what that church is doing? Do you know what
-
that church is doing? But sometimes we compare, and then
-
that's why we don't step into our calling. Is I
-
cannot preach like him, I cannot sing like her. Hello,
-
who told you to compare? In fact, Jesus said right
-
when Peter was talking about John, say none of your business. No,
-
you follow me, right, whatever he's doing is done your business.
-
You just follow me. Calling doesn't need competition. I'm not competing.
-
Do you know I'm not competing with any church in Malaysia.
-
I'm not. I am not. And the time when you
-
come to that place where by I'm not competing neither
-
my music nor that my preaching, now them, you know,
-
I just want to follow Jesus. You know you're free,
-
You're free, You're free. Now we can learn from audit
-
you just see. Of course we can learn from other people. Yes,
-
I've never said no, don't write, but hey, this is
-
very important. No matter what they're doing. I just want
-
to do what God tells me to do. And yeah,
-
we haven't turned off lights when we do worship. Is fine,
-
It's fine, no, no problem. Okay number twelve calling doesn't
-
need retirement. Okay, everybody want to talk about retirement and
-
and so that they can stop and then you know.
-
Shake their legs, want to play golf?
-
Do uh nola know if we don't need to talk
-
about that, we just continue to serve, right, Yeah. So
-
some people even say, oh you you still you Some
-
people say ask me, know, are you still in youth
-
ministry past?
-
And all these years?
-
I say, so, oh you're you're You're the oldest youth
-
pastor in the world. Someone told me that, you know,
-
so said that you're still in youth mistry. I said,
-
you are, said I'm not said you know, you know,
-
but people like you talking that because they see the
-
ministries are stepping stone all the way to senior past
-
the ship who said that. Gods would never say that,
-
So why you know? So, No, I'm not going to retire.
-
God called me to this. Yeah, Pasceara is selling into
-
uh ex kids, and so is Pastor Letitia seventy what
-
is she seventy four? Still x kids see her? Poor pastor? Right,
-
I love that. I love that example.
-
Right.
-
Still, she's still therese Got told it to be. So
-
don't think about retirement life. You can retire from your career,
-
not from your calling. All right, But I just wanted
-
to make sure that we just remember that it's all
-
about calling. Is God's calling, you know, He called us
-
what the privilege to serve the Lord.
