Blackout Academy

One is continue you're listening to a message to go

from acts church. We hope this message will light up

your tea.

You knows me looking for Nobody's not top worship leaders,

you know, with top skills and something to prove. Some

of our best praise and worship comes out of the darkness.

Some of our best messages come out of darkness. The

ideas I didn't even know I was worshiping. Strip all

of that down and come to whther music. Face is

the tree? Really? Is it still healthy? Oh? No, that's

a number. Two is the time where we need to

go back to familiar songs. That's what the Blackout Academy

tells us. Familiar songs just so that people can sing

and worship without feeling lost. The loss of lights and

sound doesn't have to mean the loss of worship, right,

that's just point two. Two songs that are familiar, or

at least make it familiar. Number three. At the blackout

day that we heard, the people's voices were louder than

the worship leader. The people's voices were louder than the music.

Some of us who really love music, we don't like that.

But that day I think God was trying to teach

us something. The guitar and the cahn and those on

stage actually were not that significant anymore. The best instruments

remain the people's voices. It's called the sacrifice of praise. Okay,

that's third point for the Blackout Academy. So that the

stage goes softer, the people go louder. I think in

the in the world that we are living in right

now is their way around right The focus is very

much on the stage. That's why people can't worship without

the stage because the stage is not Monday Tuesday. You

don't have a stage from Monday to Friday. So you

got to turn it around. No stage cannot wi turning around.

The worship has got to be the people. The stage

only facilitates helps or the CPC I agree, must sleep

and the worship quality mus sleep. The word is lead.

If you are struggling with people's songs choice the other day,

you're not leading, you're following. If you're feeling, you know

about trying to say to the person no, sorry, you

get only got just choose from and the guy is

now saying I would not be a worship leader and

then say thank you. That's the door or that's the scene,

you know, guys said, because if you are gonna be

aiding lesson that, you're not leading. Okay, the musicians are

leading you. Yeah, and the sound man is leading you,

the like man is leading you, the xtvs lead, No,

you don't. They are all here to facilitate and come

together to serve the vision. Amen number four. The worship leader,

so Keith Tong was really nervous that day because that

was one of his first time leading a whole combined congregation.

It was so nervous. I put my hand on his shoulder.

I said, he thought, you're gonna do well, and that happened.

When he came down, he said, Pastor, I was very

encouraged for you. You said you're gonna be fine. You're

gonna do well. Because this is what I had to

write this down. He said he really felt like a

nobody being given the chance to lead worship for the

for such a big day in X. So point is,

maybe we've got to start using nobody's because God is

continuously looking for nobody's, not top worshion beaters, you know,

with top skills and and something to prove, but really

nothing to prove. He's like and then someone about still

stripped off the music. It's like double doors. And really

I think our eyes are too much on the stage,

just too much dependent on that. And so turning around,

please people, turn it around. Let's continue to even if

you're somebody, be a nobody before the lot and say,

it's not about me. It's not hold my microphone. It's

not about my white, gray or blue or red shoes

or yellow. It's not about you know nothing, it's not

it's not a bit about how I, you know, do

whatever it is I do on stage. You know, I

want to be a nobody so that God can use me.

God still uses nothing to do something. Number five. It

brought us back to the heart of worship, where the music,

face and all is stripped away. I simply come the

heart of worship is really really important. Sometimes a heart

of worship doesn't even include the song. It's waiting upon

the Lord. Number six, not being able to see because

he was a blackout, but being faithful to what we know.

I think that's what God wants to teach us, you know.

I think that there was either a song or a

phrase that says, if you don't see his hand, trust

his heart. If you don't see his hand, trust his heart.

And that day, in that black out, we couldn't see,

but we could trust and contin be faithful to what.

You know.

We know it's good. You know it's good. You know

it's kind just you know, I think people are very

much into just new things. That look at the new

restaurants and they always pack give it three months, you know,

now so many tables, you know, because people are into

new trends. And it's okay, I mean, it's not bad,

but you know, it's a good lesson for us to

remember that the hard to worship is what goes really after. Yeah,

number seven, Darkness doesn't scare us. Darkness doesn't scare us.

Some of our best praise and worship comes out of

the darkness. So you know, some of our best messages

come out of darkness. Not darkness, satank of darkness, but

this darkness, you know, because don't forget that God is

the nor of the light and of the night and

the day. And so that day he chose to be

worshiped in the night when he took away all the lights.

And the question is can we still do it? Yeah?

So I think if we have that spirit of striped

down and remembering what it's all about. Then you know,

then we pick it up from there. I'm also agreeing

with Terreans that we also must not come to prilsmay by.

If you've got a drummer, use that drummer, then you're

giving your best. If you don't have drummer, then you

know something else. If you if you have the keybodies,

then don't deny the keybodies from giving her best to

the Lord. But I think there are days and time

where God will allow a blackout to just remind us

what it's all about. We must ever come to Prisbury.

But we can't dance without the drum, you know, can't

sing without Because when I was invited to the Catholic

Church and Methodist Church and different churches that to speaker. Uh,

the Lord taught me that early days when I stood

there and then I tell you what you know, some

of it was like in my own eyes, so boring.

The Lord has to speak to me, can you still

worship when it's boring? And he used all the different

church variations and denominations to teach you worship actually is

in your hands, your It is what you decide. It's

a choice, and we must go. It must never allow

the external to determine the internal, because.

Worship is an internal thing that when you bring out, yes,

it becomes external because all of us share it, but

it continues to remain a very personal, h intimate, internal

thing that when you come together, it becomes very beautiful

because everybody is doing the same thing, you know, just

focusing on the Lord.

So I'm just going to encourage. I hurd it over

and over again this morning, which I'm very proud of.

But it's leadership. It's just it's worship leading. Otherwise you

might as well call it let's worship follow. You know,

on time day you say, okay, we're gonna do some

worship following now because this song follows after Bett, this

song follows after you songs, Yeah, song follows up, okay,

and let's all let's just worship follow. Yeah right, it's

not it's worship leading, and we've just got to say,

I'm going to lead the people have gone into his presence.

Old song news song doesn't matter and not really music,

no music darkness, but it's just do the people come

to a place where by you hear testimonies like that,

then you know, you go away and these two people

saying I finally worship for right, and you go like,

oh my word, where were we right hiding under a

rock or something like that. So we're not bad, right,

it's not it's not bad, but I think we need

to come back. There needs to be coming back to

a place where some of these things are front and

center and very very important a body. But yeah, it

takes equipping, It takes uh, you know, revival off of

what we believe in. Is that okay? Yeah? Thank you

also mentioned yes, yes, yes, that's fine. Uh. Yeah, I

mean big you think about it, it's just a gathering

of smaller right, Uh. And if you get your small right,

you're gonna be fine because it's just it's just the

gathering or small becomes big. Uh. You know. You choose

the drummer from another church, you choose to choose the guitarists,

but they're all in the same spirit knowing how to

give God their best and then they sounds beautiful because

I tell you one of the best sounds that comes

out and it comes out from a very unified uh.

And it's not just unified in musical notes and chords. No,

it's a unified spirit. And it comes from there. Know

that all of us believe in the same thing. We're

passionate about the same thing. We just want to please him. Uh.

And when you come together like that, you know, there's

that's a sound. It's a it's just a louder sound

of what you're already doing at home. It's just a

magnified sound of what you're already doing in your small

homes and church planning. Right. So it's going to be

consistent all across. Uh. And the only way to do

that is just to continue to help people be transformed

by the renewing of their minds. But I've been hearing

good stuff around around the table. I just wanted to

add because I thought as a Selena was talking about

black gut, I just checked my nose and say, oh, yeah, there,

I remember a blackout academy. Uh. And so people just

have to go through this academy with nothing not coming

through this academy and signing up with the full band.

I come in and and and they kind of strip

me off all these things in my mind, the image,

you know, the ideas that I didn't even know I

was worshipping. Yeah, strip all of that down and come

to weather music face strip away, you know. I mean

there was an amazing song that we used to sing

sometimes not even knowing that we are what we're saying,

you know, because it just sounded good because maybe we

haven't come to a place wherebody it was all black help,

you know. And then a lot allowed it allowed us

to taste it and it was actually one of the

most beautiful worship I've been in for a long time. Uh.

And then you know, we were starting there doing that

and it was even thinking about the song, just thinking

about being able to sing. No, it wasn't. The microphone

couldn't be heard, nothing could be heard except but then

the sound was the loudest from recongregation. So that should

always be the biggest worship team yea and the worship

leader leading them into that place where at the end

of the day when they go away God, I met

with God. Is what you want to do that? Yeah,

we hope.
