Faith with Substance

You're listening to a message to go from acts church.

We hope this message will light up your tea.

You'll just come to church, sit down on the seat,

and then go back home. Come back to church, sit

down and see go back home. When anybody miss you,

didn't if you didn't come next Sunday. God wants to

see you do your part before he moves. Why does

God allow a Christian to have problems and trouble and

difficulty beyond his own understanding? Why because he continues to

want to move us into a life of faith where

our eyes are on him. The Bible tells us that

without faith is impossible to please God. So, all of

you who are Christians in this room, I know that

you have, or you should have, one purpose in life,

and that purpose should be to live.

To please God.

But the Bible says it's impossible to please God without faith.

We all know the scripture, but we forget it. So

if daily like for example, for example, yesterday was Saturday,

and if you live alive from the morning to the

evening on Saturday and had no opportunity to live by faith,

means the whole of yesterday you and I did not

please God.

If you had Friday and Friday.

You were full of sight, full of management capability. Your

family came to you, your staff came to you, and

all you had was management capability, understanding of your experience,

and you're giving people experience, and you're giving people counsel

from your knowledge and blah blah blah, okay, and no

faith was exercise. Then Saturday and Friday, we didn't live

to please God.

And if I.

Moved on for a week, a week, one week, you

have not lived by faith. One week You and I

have not pleased God. One month in the month of

January have we lived by faith? Now now you understand

why God allows trouble in our liveston. You know why

God allows trouble and problems and difficulties and challenges so

that we will live by faith, So that we will

live by faith. In fact, sometimes he gives us problems

that are beyond ourselves, beyond our experience, beyond our capability.

Why why does God allow a Christian to have problems

and trouble and difficulty beyond his own understanding?

Why?

Because He continues to want to move us into a

life of faith where our eyes are on him and

where our dependency is on his word and not our experience,

on his ways and not our ways. Some of you

know that Bible says his ways are highed and our ways,

and his thoughts are higher than our thoughts.

Amen.

So we've got to have opportunities in our lives where

we are reminded that there is something called faith, and

our eyes should be above, not just in our own strength. Okay,

let's move on. So we know that faith is needed

to please God. The next slide tells us what faith is.

Very important. What faith is.

Faith is the.

Substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Let me break this down for you. Some of you

may know what it means already.

I want to break it down for you so that

you understand it a little bit more, or at least

be reminded what is it? So you know that faith

it takes faith to please God.

But what is faith? So?

I love this scripture Hebrews eleven one. I love it

because it's it's it's it's it's.

Clear.

It's clear to us what faith is. Faith is the

substance of things hope for. Okay, let's break that down.

First of all, when you say you have faith, you

must also have hope, hope, and when you lose hope,

you also lose faith. So the devil wants to rob us.

Not just of our faith, you say, oh, the devil

on's by faith. No, let's go deeper than that. The

devil to be able to rob you of your faith,

will first rob you of your hope. That's why people

go to disappointment and discouragement, so that you can come

to a place where you stop hoping. And if you

can stop hoping, you will have stopped faith because faith

is the substance of things.

Hope. For you remove hope.

From this scripture, there is no more faith everybody, okay,

And I find that a lot of us get challenged

so much that we no longer want to hope. Point

number two is substance. Substance is really really important to understand. See,

the opposite word of substance is nothing. A man of substance.

You know, he's smiling. I see I'm advertising you in

front of all the unmarried girls here.

Mother's laughing. Yeah.

Yeah, remember me asking your mother to remember me because

I'm doing a good job for it now.

Yeah. A man of substance compared to a man of nothing.

Uh.

The other word for the word substance is uh.

There is a weight to it. There's a weight that's

you know, you you you Uh. You want to honor

your mom uh, and you you want to give her substance.

You don't just want to give her air. Mom comes,

stay in my house and breathe my air.

You know, I honor you.

The word honor in the Hebrew is khabad. Khabard means weight.

That's why when I went.

To India, uh to speak there in India.

Uh, they met me in the airport and they put

two garlands, me big garlands.

You know.

The garlets were so be one was enough, No, they

put to the garden was this thick? No, So the

second garden they eat close by. My I was like, damn,

where the where they were going? Where am I going there?

And and and then later honest, I was going like that.

I'm just really, this is true. I was looking like

it was very weighty. How do Chinese people on the

Because after you eaither you go out heavior. Everybody go

out heavior. Huh why why why do people give gifts?

It's weighty.

So I take out this fiftien git many many years ago,

I heard the preacher say, this is very light, but

it's actually very heavy because in this it's your sweat.

In this is your you had to wake up early

in the morning to go work for this. You had

to come back very late at night to work for this.

This is very light in terms of actual weight, but

it's substance. Can you here's substance? Substance with someone are

you Are you making any sound for the Lord? Are

you making any sound for the Lord? You're just come

to church, sit down on the seat and then go

back home. Come back to church, sit down and see

go back home. Every Sunday, come to church, go back

where's your.

Substance? Will anybody miss you? Didn't if you didn't come

next Sunday? Oh hada.

Faith is a substance, ya only you want God value

and faith is a substance of things hope for. So

when you hope for something, you must back you up

with substance. You understand, because too many Christians are hope

for things, hope for healing, hope for revival, hope for salvation,

but no substance. You want your friend to get saved,

but you don't visit him. Where is your backup or no?

Because you can pray, oh your oh God, please save

my mother, but you never give her one call in

a month, say my boss. You never say good morning

to him in the morning. You a lot of Christians

are just wait for, hope for but no substance. Where's

your substance? Where's your weight?

Yeah?

So very very important. Why am I teaching you this morning?

Because I really believe that this year is a special year.

This is gonna be a double portion year. If you believe,

you say amen, this year is going to be a

good year, a great year, a blessed year. God didn't

by chance give you this year is by appointment. You

are alive for a reason, everybody, say amen, a life

for a reason. I want to be a man of substance,

you know, not an airy fairy man, not a man

that is, you know, just dreamer, but not doer. All right,

let's look at the next line. The next line also

very important. It is the evidence of things not seen.

All right.

Listen, how many of you here want to see something

from the Lord this year that you haven't seen yet?

Let me see your hence? All right? All right, Wow,

thank you so so much for be honest. Okay, what

or you of you care to just shout out what

you want to see? Okay?

Salvation off of the family, Praise God. How many you

would like to see more of your families come to

know the Lord? Come let me see your hands? Yeah

a mayor, of course, of course, me too, Me too,

my uncles, my aunties. You know, every year I go

back for ties New Year and I'm praying for them,

and I'm saying, God, please do something in my life

that will bring substance into that room so they can see,

Oh wow, can it Chane is different? Can it change different?

You know, some most of my family members now are

the ones who have not yet accepted Lord Jesus Christ

as their lot and savior. Are following me on Facebook now,

so they actually know where I am, where I'm going there.

They've heard me preach a fantastic okay, so that hopefully

when they see my life they see, Okay, this nephew

of ours is not some very family dreamer who just

talks religion but has no substance. Okay, praise to God.

So I hope I can do that. So we want

more of our family's safe. Anyone else what a shout

out or what you hope to see and not seeing?

I saw a lot of hens go out. But then

you'll try to tell me that I want a husband,

and then I say you marriedie, okay?

And I want another child. I want another baby, my

fifth one? God, anyone else's one more?

Yeah, someone said I want to I'm hoping to see

myself witness to the lot, more witness for the lot,

more anyone else.

And you want to hope you for a new car,

new job, new promotion. Those of you want to go

my great one.

Lord ask you. Then maybe I pray for you. Okay, okay,

I encourage you to be very clear about what you

want to see because some of you put up your

hands are but not clear about what you're all loose weight?

Somebody is you late that you lost weet? This is

your wedding jacket right? And someone you can put the

a long time.

Why because God has not done it yet for us. Okay,

We have not seen. We've not seen a breakthrough. We've

not seen the new contract coming. We've not seen the

new job. We've not seen the new house. We've not

seen the healing that we want for our body. Maybe

some of you put up your hand, you want healing.

They're not seen is God's part. Okay, let me use

my right hand. They're not seen is God's part. Everybody

say God's part, the evidence, use my left hand. Now

is your part?

Faith?

Is there your part before you see God's part. So

God wants to see you do your part before he moves.

Some of you might be shaking your hair on opacities,

wrong theology. I'm gonna show you from scripture that is

being God's way all the time, all the time. You know,

I'm a lawyer by training, and I can just tell

you that in the courts of law, you are waiting

for the judge to give you a judgment, a sentence,

a reward. Maybe okay, the judge is like God, you

are not yet. You haven't yet seen his judgment. You

haven't yet seen his sentence. He will give you a

judgment and sentence. Does he give you the judgment and

the sentence after he's seen the evidence or before.

After after he will sit there, Show me the evidence,

Show me the evidence.

The jury if if it's trial by jury, the jury

also has going to be convinced with the evidence. God

doesn't move without evidence. You say, I want to see

the evidence of God. God said to you to answer

your prayer. It's just a snap of the finger for me.

You want a girlfriend. Boom, wow, who's this? Am I

where you come from? God just stap his finger. Oh

you want a boyfriend? Whoa wow? Wow?

Six pegs wow, taller than me? And he say taller

taller than me, he's gotta be the girls one then

toler than him. Okay even by one inch? Now problem wow?

Fandas say wow, biceps? Try SEPs well? Good looking? What'smart

you know? Wh where you came from? God sent me

to you? Healing of tumor? God is only gone gone way?

How come no more pain? An't beg he beck can

can go to no more pain to say gone? I

hate God? Headache gone? You know?

Wow?

You know?

Suddenly can do mathematics, you know? And and it's care

a in in in college. Wow? God, God can do

it like that? Can can mother suddenly gets saved? Mother?

You know wake up in the morning, said Oh, son,

I saw a vision of Jesus in dressed in white.

How can I be saved? God can do it like that? Yeah?

Too easy for him? Too easy.

He wants to see us move before he does, you see,

because if God moves like that.

That, we don't need faith. Faith.
