  1. You're listening to a message to go from acts church.

  2. We hope this message will light up your day.

  3. And one of the biggest killers in ministry is shaped

  4. the way forward.

  5. The way to be able to succeed, overcome and be

  6. breaking through over and over again is to endure across.

  7. Don't let them the enemy rob us of our joy,

  8. because joy is strength. Can I remind you, though, that

  9. the Bible says it is the joy of the Lord,

  10. So I remind you. I know you know it already.

  11. It is not your joy. Our joy can go up

  12. and down. Our joy can go up and down. But

  13. the joy of the Lord is consistent. The joy of

  14. the Lord is forever. So you and I need to

  15. come into that joy. That means that it doesn't matter

  16. whether you are happy, It meta whether He is happy.

  17. That is the essence of worship.

  18. Too many people want to give God our songs, but

  19. how many of us we want to sing the songs

  20. He wants to hear?

  21. And for that Sunday it could be a hymn.

  22. I'm telling you right now, And many worship leaders need

  23. to hear this because they keep going with the latest.

  24. And everybody, you know why, you know what they turn

  25. off the lights. They tell me.

  26. They turn off lights so that other people can worship better.

  27. So it's again about other people. Man has worshiped become

  28. about other people. It's about the Lord. Is his joy

  29. that gives us strength, everybody, Okay, remain in his joy.

  30. Lord.

  31. I might not be happy, but I know I know

  32. you are, and I want to make you happy. And

  33. in making him happy, that's how you become happy ultimately. Okay,

  34. who for the joy that was set before him? Let

  35. me finish this set before him, set before him. What

  36. I catch? What I catch from that is vision. Maybe

  37. today you're not at a very good place. You hope

  38. to be out of it soon. And the only way

  39. you can smile at the storm is that you can

  40. see a vision after it. So Jesus saw a vision

  41. after this pain. You know why a lot of you

  42. will come feeling down and come then then come to

  43. a conference and then suddenly all fill up because you've

  44. heard things and seen things that has caused you to

  45. be excited. Some of you, he said that last night,

  46. I saw something and I'm excited to go back and

  47. implement it. That's why I heard last night, because joy

  48. and excitement.

  49. I'm married.

  50. I'm talking about excitement, and excitement that comes because of vision,

  51. and vision is not for today's vision is later you

  52. see though you see it, You see it, you set

  53. before him, You see it at a conference. Nothing has

  54. happened at home, yet you're still here, and at home

  55. you're still getting text that is not so good maybe, but.

  56. You're not looking at the text anymore. You're looking at

  57. the vision that set before you.

  58. That's why you stand up and say, I know where

  59. I'm still at, but I know where I'm going. And

  60. because of that, you will stand up after this retreat

  61. and go like I'm about the future, and nobody else

  62. sees it, but you are the leader, and the Lord

  63. will allow you to see anybody.

  64. Okay, very very important.

  65. I pray that all of you will have the joy

  66. of the Lord, and the enemy will not be able

  67. to rob you of your strength. And I pray that

  68. there will be a new vision, if not a renewed vision.

  69. Second is endure, enduring the cross, and thirdly is despising

  70. the shame.

  71. All right, very quickly, now, very quickly, now these three things.

  72. It's written in the Bible of how we can endure,

  73. how we can con do you run. So the joy

  74. is important, and with that joy he endures the cross.

  75. What is the cross?

  76. For me?

  77. In summary? The cross is suffering that comes with obedience.

  78. The cross is something that goes like this, suffering that

  79. comes with the obedience. Do you know that almost all

  80. our obedience comes to suffering comes with pain and sacrifice. Everybody, okay?

  81. And the Bible tells us to endure that. Listen very carefully,

  82. carefully to me now, because I'm just gonna I'm about

  83. to show you something that I pray will bless you.

  84. As I prepared for this, I was blessed myself. Leaders

  85. need to discern when to endure and when to despise.

  86. Sometimes we endure the shame and despise the cross. What

  87. do you keep enduring? You endure sufferings that come from obedience,

  88. is because you're obeying God's voice. The suffering will come,

  89. and that's what you need to endure. Don't reject it.

  90. It means, don't despise it. Don't say take it away

  91. from me, Lord. You say, Lord, I understand that there

  92. will be pain that comes from my obedience. I will

  93. go through this the way forward, the way to be

  94. able to succeed overcome and be breaking through over and

  95. over again is to endure the cross. And then leaders

  96. must know when to hate or despise or reject the shame.

  97. Now, can I tell you one more thing.

  98. When you obey, it's not only going to bring suffering,

  99. is also going to be bring shame.

  100. So that's what happened.

  101. He endured the suffering, but he despised the shame because

  102. when he was going to be hung on the cross,

  103. he was going to be hung naked. Now, as I close,

  104. I want to say to you right now, shame is

  105. a very powerful thing. In fact, for me, it was

  106. the most powerful thing that happened in the garden. Because listener,

  107. don't take the fruit lest you die. Their eyes got

  108. off God went on to the fruit. So that's what

  109. Pasa Sam is trying to say. Don't keep your eyes

  110. on the fruit. So leave's eyes and Adam's eyes went

  111. on the fruit. So stop looking at the fruit of

  112. your ministry. Look at the Lord who gave you the command. Now,

  113. they took the fruit, and the first thing they saw

  114. when they were promised that their eyes were opened was

  115. their nakedness.

  116. You know what.

  117. Brings real leaders down, even when we obey is the

  118. fear of shame. And there are some of us in

  119. this room if we don't understand it, and then we

  120. don't understand what's happening.

  121. How if I do this?

  122. You know that you're obeying God, but you also know

  123. the shame it might bring you if you don't do

  124. as well. The shame of losing your job, the shame

  125. of what I don't know, there's so many, the shame

  126. of losing your status, the shame of losing your reputation. Oh,

  127. you used to be very funny. You're like a comedian.

  128. You'd make everyboy lave. And suddenly you're being the Lord,

  129. and now you have to preach strong and people are going, like,

  130. what's happening to this guy? You know, he used to

  131. be making this all love. He used to love. He's preaching,

  132. and now he's too strong for us. He's too loud

  133. for us, he's too serious for us, you know. And

  134. so your reputation, Oh, you know, I lose my reputation

  135. and there's shame that comes with it. And yet the

  136. Bible says those who trust in the Lord shall never

  137. be put to shame. Do you believe that those who

  138. trust in the Lord will never be put to shame.

  139. But they're a shame. Oh I'm not cool enough, you know.

  140. I'm just. I'm just.

  141. I'm just a small ex church in Osaka. And then

  142. there's so many other churches around. I'm there's a small

  143. church in g There's so many other bigger churches around.

  144. I'm a shamed to call myself the worship leader. I'd

  145. rather be a worship leader in this other bigger church

  146. because I think I am that good. I am that

  147. good and I should be actually worship leader for Bethel.

  148. Why am I doing an acts? You know last night.

  149. Before I went to sleep, But you know what the

  150. lot told me, Lord told me this. I was very strong.

  151. It was very strong, strong statement. Kenneth Chain, Is this

  152. your final job?

  153. Right?

  154. I thought itself what it was a lot saying? He says, no,

  155. I'm asking you if there was another job offer that

  156. came your way, would you take it? Is there is

  157. there anyone in this room who is very secure with

  158. your colleague where you should be and what you should do?

  159. Or are you waiting for the next call? I was

  160. there there, I was should be saying, oh my word,

  161. how if you know this big mega church did offer

  162. me a job. Would I say that, Oh, thank you

  163. Lord X change with a stepping stone.

  164. No, no, be be thinking about this. Be thinking about this.

  165. JPCC comes and offer passed by you. You're good looking,

  166. your smart master's degree. He comes to pasta guagein and says,

  167. passa kajean. A dream job has come my way. I've

  168. always wanted to know because you see some of us

  169. and you know.

  170. You will never do that about you. I believe you

  171. never did it.

  172. But by while you would never do it, do it,

  173. it doesn't mean that the offer won't come. Are you

  174. rare you're really supposed to be? Are you happy? Are

  175. you secure? Are you grounded? Is this or are you

  176. going to be comparing? And because there's this a little

  177. bit of shame that comes around it, and Jesus says

  178. the suffering, I will take the shame. I would despise

  179. because the shame of being naked on the cross is

  180. also a lot too much for some people. But I

  181. would despise that. I will heye what shame does to me,

  182. because the shame rob Adam and Eve.

  183. Of their destiny.

  184. The first thing they see their nakedness. The first thing

  185. they feel is shame, and one of the biggest killers

  186. in ministry is shame.

  187. I'm a shame to be part of this small little group.

  188. You know.

  189. I pray that if you are struggling, you ask the

  190. Lord Lord, the devil when he came to Jesus, is

  191. if you are the son of God, throw yourself down.

  192. I want to be so secure. I want to be

  193. so secure. This is God's call, This is the best job,

  194. This is the best highest calling.

  195. This is this is the best. Think about it for

  196. a moment.

  197. Think about for a moment, because it might not be

  198. It might not be your answer. Your answer could be

  199. our pastor. I am honestly still waiting for an the call.

  200. I had to ask myself one time, many years, many

  201. many years. I thought I would be a politician. I

  202. thought I could be the Prime Minister. I wouldn't say

  203. his country because I'm spoing by birth, so maybe in

  204. I can. But you know, I was waiting, you know,

  205. I said, Wow, the higher calling, the higher calling. And

  206. if I get a call from the Prime Minister's office

  207. and said, Kenneth, would you And I said, oh, wow, dream,

  208. my dream has come true. He says, all you need

  209. to do is for sake, except and I had to

  210. deal with that, deal with my own heart.

  211. Okay.

  212. Finally, Jesus sat at the right hand. Amen, let's close.

  213. What does this mean? He sat in the place of

  214. a auloraity, he said, in a place of influence. You know,

  215. I don't believe we will ever lose our identity in Christ.

  216. I don't believe that. But as fas as Sam said,

  217. we can lose our influence. After all was said in

  218. three verses, actually the first two only you find Jesus

  219. for the joy that was set before him and the

  220. cross despised the shame, and then said, and I really

  221. really believe, and I'm closing my eyes now to start

  222. to pray for you. I really really believe that while

  223. your identity in Christ could be intact, you and I

  224. are responsible to make sure that our influence.

  225. That it's not just intact, but increases. The reward at

  226. the end of the day.

  227. Is influence, at the end of the day is authority.

  228. Being in the right hand of God is not just

  229. an identity. He's already the son of God. But he said,

  230. on the right hand, the right hand is power, the

  231. right hand is authority, the right hand is royalty, the

  232. right hand is ability, The right hand is influence and

  233. what happened was our own Savior went through the same

  234. things that he expects us to go through.
