[SPEAKER_00]: High praise podcasts.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: Hey everybody, this is Pastor Josh.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: We'll leave Pastor here at High praise and I want to thank you for downloading today's podcast.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: We know that this message is going to encourage and bless you.
-
[SPEAKER_00]: So I want you to open up your heart and receive with the Lord as for you today.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And with actually the very first Psalm, Psalm chapter one.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I have always just been of the understanding that any time someone is riding, they're riding a book.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Many times they will be stating the central theme of the book.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But also sometimes what's happening is they will be siding what is some of the most important things to grab hold of.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And I think sometimes we can overlook some of the most important principles that God has established because they're not reading in the correct way and the correct manner.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Now I know that men cananize what the scripture, but I believe that God
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The violently orchestrated much of it so that we would have an understanding of what he places power to young.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And I think it's very interesting as we read the Psalm, the even the very first verse, the very first Psalm of the entire book of Psalms, the very first sentence.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: There is something that is so profound and is so important for us as believers to grab a hold of in order to live in the way that God is planned for us to live.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: How many believe that God wants you to walk in victory?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you want to hear believe that God wants you to walk in victory?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Anybody here believe God wants you to live defeated your entire life?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think anybody believe.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: If you've been going to this church for any length of time, you know that God's not called you to live to a life of defeat.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He's called you to a life of victory.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He's called you to a life of triumph, amen?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He's called you to a life where you live as more than a conquer, not more than conquered.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Paul said it this way.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Now thanks be to God who what?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Always causes us to
-
[SPEAKER_01]: always causes us to triumph.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I believe that is the plan of God, that is the will of God for every single one of us.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: God did not dessen you for a life of defeat, heartache, hardship, never being able to live in any blessing whatsoever.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: That was very interesting whenever you read this Psalm, again, the very first Psalm
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Of the book of Psalms, the very first word, the very first song, the very first sentence actually starts with the word blessed.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody say blessed.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Would you look at somebody and say, God won't you bless?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I believe here in the very first word of the book of Psalms, God is going to head into clearing this is what this is all about.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: This is what I want for your life.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I want blessing for your life.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Did you know God wants to bless you even more than you want blessing?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, that's the reason that Jesus came.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, God didn't need salvation.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Father didn't need salvation.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We're the one that needed salvation.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So Jesus came for us, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He didn't need us, but we needed him, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So it's all about God's desire, His love for us, and desiring to bless us.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: If you feel like that you've got to convince God to bless you, then you've got the wrong understanding of who God is.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: God desires the bless you even more than you walk the blessing.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: God desires the see you healed even more than you walk the healing.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: God desires to prosper you even more than you walk prosperity.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: God desires for you to walk in an abundant life even more than you desire for yourself.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Let me say this.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: God desires for your kids to be saved even more than you want them to be saved yourself.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And he proved it whenever he sent Jesus.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He sacrificed every day.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He gave everything for us.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's so we must understand that God desires to bless us.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So he says, blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly pastor Joshua.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He actually shared this verse last week.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: North stands in the path of sinners.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: North sits in the seat of the scornful.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But his delight is in the law of the Lord.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And in his law, he meditates day and night.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Notice he doesn't say in Facebook, he meditates day and night.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, thank you for that overwhelming response.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Or TikTok, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Or Instagram.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, so, I say, amazing how many people are meditating in everything except what they need to be meditating in.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And they're thinking about everything except for what they really need to be thinking of.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's something we as a church, we begin to get back to what God's word says.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Can everybody say amen?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And he says of this man, he will be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither in whatever he does shall prosper.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The ungodly are not so, but they're like the chaff, which the wind drives away, therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous, for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's very interesting whenever you read this song, it contrasts the life of the blessed man to the life of the cursed man.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It contrasts the life of the godly to the ungodly.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And it contrasts the life of the holy to the unholy.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And I want to go ahead and say this and I want you to grab hold of this as believers and as disciples of Jesus, we should live different than those in the world.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: God has called you to live in a different manner.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We are in the world, but we are not of the world.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And so God has called each and every one of us to live in a different manner.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Just because everybody else in town or everybody else on your block is doing something doesn't mean that you need to be doing the same thing.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: just because it's common in the culture or the society.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't mean that we should be doing the same thing.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Just because some words may have become very common on television and in the culture doesn't mean that those are the words that need to be coming out of our mouth.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We should not be a reflection of the culture.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We should not be so much a reflection of the trends.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But we should be a reflection of God.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We should be a reflection of Jesus.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We should be a reflection of His Word within a world.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We should be the light in the midst of darkness.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Can everybody say amen?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: If we look like the world, if we act like the world, if we talk like the world, then we're living in an ungodly manner.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And if we do so, then we end up forfeiting God's blessing.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I want to encourage all of you kids that are going back to school.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I call you kids.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You understand, even if you're teenagers, you're in middle school, high school.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I think all the other younger kids are in kids' church or nursery, but I understand this.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Just because your friends are doing something doesn't mean that's why you need to be doing.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: As a matter of fact, if your friends are doing it and there's a lot of them that are doing it, then you might want to question whether or not it's the right thing.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Because I found that usually the majority are not right.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's just be wrong.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The majority are usually not right.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The majority of people that I went to school with were not right.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Whenever I was going to school, I don't know if anybody, I was going to school in the seventies.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, and the days of disco, but I will tell you that the majority of things that I heard coming out of Eve, and again, I was heavily involved in band band kids.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Usually, we're some of the better kids at school, you know, but anyway, the reality was coming out of some of their mouths and what many of them were saying, it was not godly, okay?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't holy.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So just because your friends are doing it doesn't mean that you need to be doing the same thing, man.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, God makes things very simple.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I felt that God is, here this, God is complex, but He's not complicated.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Does that make sense?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He's complex in the sense that there's so many different facets of God that we can dig in and go deeper and deeper in our understanding of Him.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: However, He does not make it complicated.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: In other words, you just can't understand it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: There's no way, and it's, you know, you've got to be a genius to understand the Lord and his ways.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Listen, if he would have made it that way, none of us would have been able to understand anything that he said.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: That's the reason Jesus, whenever he taught,
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He was teaching people that were the common people.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: As a matter of fact, his teaching wasn't so much targeted to the religious leaders.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: As a matter of fact, they couldn't have a clue as to what Jesus was talking about.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But he would talk in parables.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He would teach in parables to the common man.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He would use a language that they could understand.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And He was teaching principles of the kingdom and how the kingdom of God operates.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And He taught it in a way that they could understand.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He took things that were complex and made them simple to be able to understand.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And so what we have to understand is very simple in the way that God
-
[SPEAKER_01]: actually articulate as we even see the Psalmist under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit as he's articulating this.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And he basically says this, do this and you will be blessed.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Do this and you will forfeit the blessing.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Does that make sense?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: If you will do this then there will be blessing in your life.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: If you do this over here though, they're going to forfeit the blessing.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The way of the ungodly is going to perish.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's very simple.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, a series in the God said to the children of the Hisry said, behold, I put before you death in life, blessing and cursing, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Or life in death, blessing and cursing.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, he gave him some good advice.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He said, choose life.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So the reality is this.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Life is all about and living a Christian life is all about making the right choice.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's about hearing the right voice and making the right choice.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And the very first thing that he actually says is this, blessed is the man who doesn't walk in the counsel of the ungodly.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to say it another way.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Bless is the man who doesn't listen to stupid people.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, bless the man that doesn't just because they heard it on the news, believe that it's the truth and then be just to run with it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Or they saw it on Facebook or Instagram or something like that.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's amazing how many crazy things that are out there.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: online on Facebook, Instagram, I don't care what kind of social media platform you want to talk about here this.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Don't everything that you read just because it looks like a legitimate article.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't mean that it is the truth.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And somebody may say, well, that's their version of the truth.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that doesn't mean it is the truth either.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Just because somebody says it's the truth.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: There's not make it the truth.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And there's a lot of stuff that is fabricated that is made up.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: There's conjectures and there's a false assumptions that are made and sometimes they're just flat out lies that are out there.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And so when we have to understand, I'm going somewhere with this because it isn't just about what we read on Facebook.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Other than the fact that I've seen people post things before and everybody started amenning everything that that person said.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm thinking, well, that's not even biblical right there.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: That's totally contrary to what the Bible actually.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: If you've ever seen that before somebody post something, that's not in the Bible.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And so what we have to understand is just because you see something or just because you hear something does not make it true.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: One thing we need in the body of Christ today probably more than anything else is our discernment turned up.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not talking about the gift of discerning of spirits as a whole different thing.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm talking about just discernment that God has given you as a believer.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Every one of us are given the ability to discern your spirit, man.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Once you are born again, actually you have a divine ability to be able to discern what is right and what is wrong and that happens as a result of you exercising your spiritual sits.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: By the way, Pastor Casey shared on that some on the Wednesday night with tremendous tremendous message that we shared this past Wednesday night.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So we have to understand that when the first things that we have to do, in order to be blessed, in order to see the blessing of God within our lives, is we have to begin to get rid of the ungodly voices that are within our ears.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The very first principle in the very first verse of the very first Psalm is to first of all, don't listen to ungodly and wrong counsel, or we can say it this way, wrong voices.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what it amounts to listening to wrong voices.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I want to share something with you that happened to me many, many years ago.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Early in our ministry, this was back in them.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll just say this, mid-eighties, mid-nineteen eighties.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And there was, I was on staff at a church, and the pastor actually, we were having a discussion one day, and this is what he said to me.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And he said this, he said,
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He said, Robert, you'll never be able to go anywhere in ministry as long as you are married to the woman that you are married to.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what she said.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, whenever he said that, I immediately said, I didn't say that loud.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe I should have, but out of respect, I just said, I reviewed that in the name of Jesus.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You know what that was?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: That was ungodly counsel.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Why would you share that?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Because you've got to understand this even sometimes people that may be saved can give you ungodly counsel.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Can speak the wrong thing over your life.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Just so because somebody Hikara-Dabakashata can speak in tongues doesn't mean that their counsel is right.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And by talking to anybody here today, you know, and anybody did up happening with him, he ended up having numerous divorces and remarriage.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, and I'm still married to the same woman, forty-four years later, how you like me now.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Praise God, amen.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Amen.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You can't believe something just because somebody said, you actually have to test the reason even Johnson, test the spirits, whether they be of God.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You know another way we can say that, test the voices that you're listening to, whether they be of God.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: because every spirit has a voice.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And one again, while the Psalmist says, if you want to walk in blessing, the first thing that you've got to do is make sure that you don't walk in ungodly counsel.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You don't walk in the counsel of the ungodly.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And again, the ungodly doesn't necessarily mean that, you know, he's talking about just the unsafe there.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He's talking about people that are giving ungodly counsel.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Unbiblical, unrighteous counsel.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And I will tell you that there have been people that I've seen throughout my life.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I've been alive for a little while.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Trust I continue to be alive for a long while.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But you know, I've seen so many things that people have said, born again, spirit-filled tongue-talking, even prophesying believers.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And I went, man, that is so wrong, just absolutely wrong.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You have to discern properly.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Can everybody say you, man?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I'm not saying that in order to get you to be afraid or scared, I can't listen to anybody.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm what I'm saying.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just saying you have to discern it properly.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's our responsibility.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But I knew when every said that, that's crazy.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You know what?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: What God said was this?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: What God is put together, let no man put a center?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Is that what your Bible says?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, God is put together, let no man put.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I choose to believe God even whenever somebody else in another voice is saying something different.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I choose to believe in Gramp Holden and embrace what God said rather than the even the voice of a pastor, amen?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, he may admit, well, I'm not sure about that, but let's just give him the benefit of the doubt.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe he meant well by that.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, but the reality he was wrong.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, even well-meaning people can be wrong at times.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Somebody can have a good intention, but just because they have a good intention, does not mean what they're saying is right.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's the matter of fact.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, please, we'll get to that in just a moment.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So the first thing you say, don't listen to ungodly counsel.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Ungodly counsel will always get you ungodly results.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like this garbage in garbage out, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Many people fail to walk in the blessing of the Lord solely because they listen to the wrong voices.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: One of the most dangerous things that a believer can do is listen to ungodly counsel.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Understand this, you might want to write it down.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Freedom of speech doesn't mean that one speech brings freedom.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I just got to say this.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that doesn't necessarily mean what you're saying.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You may have a right to say it, but does it mean what you're saying is right.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And we have to understand that wrong voice is listening to wrong voices, leads to wrong decision.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Whenever you read that first verse, can we bring that first verse back up or you'll get anything out of this?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But he says there's places that he does not walk in the Council of the Ungali North stands in the path of the sinners.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: What he's saying there doesn't walk like a sinner doesn't act like a sinner can't tell you.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: If you don't walk in the Council of the Ungali, you won't walk in the path of sinners, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: North sits in the seat of the scornful.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: What's he talking about there?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He's talking about somebody that keeps saying the wrong thing.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And what you see is a progression here, because whenever somebody begins to hear the wrong voices and walk in ungodly counsel, then they start acting like a sinner, and then they start talking like one also.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: That's the way that it works.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: That's the way that it operates.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So listening to wrong voices is going to cause a poor decision.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Wrong voices leave people down the wrong path.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Turn to Genesis three real quickly.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I want you to see this.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: This is a life message for me.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's become a very big life message.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And I have two books on it and working on the third one.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: By the way, just so you know, our new book restored will be here on Tuesday.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Hallelujah.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's getting here early, so we'll probably have some available on Wednesday, but then on Sunday, we'll also have them available.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Probably a book signing for anybody that we liked from you to sign the book.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But this is, it's gonna be a really, really great book, and I know you're gonna be blessed by it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Genesis three verse seventeen.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Then Adam, he said, because you have, notice this, because you have heated the voice of your wife.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Because you have heated the voice, extruding it quite in here, all of a sudden.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Because you heated the nomen, I don't go ahead and tell you, you can't use this voice, this script or excuse me to say, I'm not ever going to listen to my wife again.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But what he says right here, because you have heated the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you saying you should not eat a bit, cursed is the ground for your sake, and told you should eat in all the days of your life.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Can you see here the connection?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Adam listened to the wrong voice, and by listening to the wrong voice, he brought the curse within his life.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Now what's very, you know, if you do the, read the entire account, Eve is the first one.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Eve hates the voice of the serpent.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Eve listens to what the serpent is saying.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The serpent promises, you know, have to God said.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: that, you know, you can't eat of the street?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but we're not supposed to eat of it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, he doesn't want you to eat of it because there's wisdom and knowledge there.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And this says whenever she saw that it was, it was a treat to me desire.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: She took and she partook of it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And we, I talk about that actually in my very first voices book.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And so what we have to understand is sometimes what looks enticing and what looks like wisdom and what looks like knowledge is not wisdom and knowledge at all.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And sometimes what we perceive is something good is not good at all.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Because whenever she looked at it, it looked like it was good to eat.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And so we have to understand that just because something looks good or sounds good, we can't go after it solely because of that.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, Eve listens to the serpent and then what happens is Adam listens to Eve.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And as a result, the entire world is placed in a cataclysmic shift
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, we see is the fall of man, man misses out.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He is cast out of the garden.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He is cast out of a place of paradise, a place where everything was provided for.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: From that point on, he has to earn his living by the sweat of his brow.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He had to work diligently to be able to have the things that he had need of.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And so at the root of Adam's sin, this is where we're going, was heating ungodly counsel.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: At the root of Eve's sin was listening to the wrong voice.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Think about this, all of the sin in the world is because someone heated the wrong voice.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Think about that for just a moment.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: All of the sin in the world, and the fall of man goes right back to somebody listening to the wrong voice.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Can I tell you whenever people sin, whenever they miss it, when they do things that they shouldn't do, it's all because they've listened to the wrong voice.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And whenever you listen to the wrong voice, you end up forsaking the blessing of the Lord.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Whenever you listen to the wrong voice, you begin to take the wrong turn in your life.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: People who listen to their own voices, they'll do bizarre things.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: They'll even say, my friend said this or I heard this or God told me or I read this on Facebook or I saw this on Instagram.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Isn't it interesting today that we have in our social media world?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: those that we call influencers.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Can I tell you, you've got to be careful who you're allowing to influence your life, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You shouldn't just be listening to people because they have a title.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, they're a big influencer.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, they may be influencing people in their own way.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: They may be influencing people to do their own things or you're hearing what I'm saying today.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And many times what happens is we get attracted to the voice that we want to hear.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And just because you want to hear something doesn't mean that it is good counsel.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Many people are merely looking for someone to say what they want to hear.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We cannot judge a legitimacy of voices by what we want to hear.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: That's called having itching ears.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Whatever you want to believe here this, there is somebody that's saying it somewhere.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't care what it is.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The voice that you want to hear, the least, maybe the one that you need to hear, the most.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: As a matter of fact, the uncomfortable sometimes to us is what we actually need to hear.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes we don't want to hear somebody get in our face and say, we need to straighten up.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We don't want to hear somebody get in our face and say, you don't want you to get over this.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We don't want somebody to get in our face and say, you need to stop living in the way that you're living right now.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We don't want somebody to get in our face and say, you know what?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Just because you have a hang now doesn't mean that you need to stay home from church.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You still need to get to the house of the Lord.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's amazing to me.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We'll discipline our children to go to school, but a dog sometimes don't have the same amount of discipline to even show up in the house of the Lord.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, a lot of times we make excuses for ourselves.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Are you hearing what I'm saying?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We make excuses for ourselves, even make excuses that we won't even allow our children to have.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And one of the things that we have to understand is we have to have some voices that'll speak to us honestly.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Every single one of us needs some voices that we allow to speak into our life and say if there's anything that's in my life, it's not right.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Then I want you to tell me about it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And by the way, sometimes your spouse is the best person to do that.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So, matter of fact, you don't even have to ask them.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to tell you anyway.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: How many ever had your spouse tell you something that you didn't like?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, you have an altar.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Somebody said always, all right.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Anybody ever had your spouse say you need to change?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Has anybody ever had your spouse tell you you need to change?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And what did you do?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: How did you respond to that?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Honey, you're right.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Is that the way you respond it?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely not.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Come on, be honest, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We don't want to change.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The problem is not raw.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The problem is mm.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Come on, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It made you, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So let me, two.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The reality is whenever we're, when we're confronted with things, we don't want to, we jump up and now go, woo!
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm so glad that you said that to me.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Now listen, even though you may not do that, what you need to do is actually at least take a step back.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And so, you know what, I'm gonna think about this, I'm gonna ponder it, and I'm gonna allow, I'm gonna do this little self-examination.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Self-examination is something that is very good.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: As a matter of fact, the Bible teaches us to, says, let a man examine himself, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Let a man examine himself.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And you gotta get honest before the Lord, you gotta be honest before the Holy Ghost, and you have to say, Lord, if there is any unclean thing in my heart, if there is anything in any area in my life that is not like you, God remove it from my life.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: How many of you are willing to do that?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Say, Lord, if there's anything that's not like you, Lord, I want to remove that of my life.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: If there's any thinking that I have that I'm holding onto, that I don't need to hold onto the Lord, remove it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You know why?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Because God wants to bless you, but you're thinking thinking is getting in the way.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And what we have to understand is, it only happens if we allow the right voices to come into our lives.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Understand this good intentions, do not determine good counsel.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Somebody have a heart of gold to still give bad counsel.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: In Genesis, sixteen, we read the story about Sarah and Abraham, or his Abraham at the time, and, you know, they couldn't have any kids.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And so, Sarah, I decided, well, you know, I'm going to just give, I'm going to give Abraham my hand made them, hey, guard.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And by the way, just so you know, when you read something, even though there is nothing that indicates as far as biblically where God condemned, it doesn't mean that it was the right thing to do.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You'll understand this.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We are reading a historical event that's being written because much of the Bible is history, a part of the Old Testament.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's history.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We're reading
-
[SPEAKER_01]: even though it's not designed to be a history book, but yet it is historical, in the sense that it is giving us a rundown of what men and women did, okay?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But understand this just because they didn't mean that it was necessarily the right thing to do.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, David, getting with that sheep, it was not the right thing to do.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, Samson getting with the Laila, that was not the right thing to do.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And so what we have to understand is just because it's written, doesn't mean that God put His stamp of approval, even though God may have not a condemned it, actually, in Scripture.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You follow what I'm saying.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So what ends up happening is Abram says, sure thing, no problem.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And he goes and gets a, hey, God, pregnant, and they have inshmal.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And so I said, all that to say this.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Sarah's, or Sarah's, counsel was not good, okay?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Because what it says in verse two of Genesis XVI, it says, this is the last sentence of Genesis XVI verse two in Abraham, he did the voice of Sarah.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He did the wrong voice, created a lot of problems, all because he listened to the wrong voice.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You got to understand that you are the company that you keep.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Jesus said this, I gotta go fast.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Jesus said this, my sheep hear my voice and a stranger they will not follow.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You whenever you read John tin and how many have ever read, I have come that you might have life, you know, thief comes to steal, kill, destroy, but I have come that you might have life and you might have it more abundantly.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And a lot of times we've talked and I believe that it is accurate that the devil is the thief but understand in context of that scripture in John tin.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Jesus is not talking about the devil there.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He's not talking about Satan.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He's talking about religious leaders' voices and false cries that have come to actually steal, kill, and destroy.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So what Jesus actually, again, you had to read the entire passage of Scripture, he keeps talking about the voice, the voice of the good shepherd, the voice, his voice that people are to hear and to listen to.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And what Jesus is actually saying,
-
[SPEAKER_01]: is that if you follow my voice, you'll have abundant life.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But if you follow the bows those over here, you're going to end up being robbed from, you'll be stolen from, and your life will be in shambles and be destroyed.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, he said that a picture of a lot of believers today, you know, blessing is escaping them, not because
-
[SPEAKER_01]: They're not saved or not because they don't have a relationship with God, but it's all because they're listening to wrong voices and as a result, they're doing the wrong things.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Are you getting anything out of this?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: See, it's not just being born again that causes you to be blessed.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's about following the right voice.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's about following the voice of the Lord.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Can I tell you, that's the reason not only do we need the written word and we need to hear the written word and practice the written word, but we also need the prophetic word of the Lord.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It gives us direction.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It gives us insight.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It shows us which direction to go.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Get everybody say, man.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: real quickly hear some what I call spiritual discernment test that we must grab hold of.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Number one, is it an agreement with God's Word?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: If you hear any voice, they're saying something different than what God has already said, understand this.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: That is not the voice of the Lord.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: If it's not an agreement with God's written word, then you throw it out.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: If it does not articulate the heart and spirit of Jesus, look at the life of Jesus.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And if the voice that you're listening to, or the words of the enemy speaking into your ear, are not an agreement with the heart and spirit of Jesus and throw it out.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Look at somebody say, you've got to throw it out.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You have to ask yourself this question.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And what I am hearing, does it provoke me to godly behavior or ungodly behavior?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: If it's not provoking you to godly behavior, then you've got to get rid of it, amen?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Does it provoke you to love?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: People are hate people.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: If you're listening to the news and it's making you get upset and hate people all the time, then you might want to find something else to listen to.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for that overwhelming response.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, honestly, what's happened a lot of times, people that are so full of the bad news and people being villainized on this media source and this media source, they feel like that their hatred is legitimized.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And I want everybody here this hatred is never legitimized.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I said, hating other people is never legitimized.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not legitimate.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You could not agree with what they're doing, and you could even despise what they're doing.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But you could not despise them, and you could not hate them.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: As a matter of fact, to understand this, Jesus died for them, just lucky died for you.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Amen.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And by the way, you were probably just as messed up at one time within your life.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So why don't we take time and pray for those people, rather?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: How many of you can say, hey, it was a time I was messed up like that.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not thinking wasn't right.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I was crazy.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I was jacked up, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe you weren't, and that's wonderful.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You're in the minority.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But you know what?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Probably a lot of say I was raised in church in Badeema.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: They were still even places in my thinking.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I had to have my mind renewed to the word of God, amen.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So if what you're listening to all the time, get you stirred up and angry to other people, you need to consider what am I listening to?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe this is causing me, here this, maybe that's causing blessing to be forfeited in my life.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe there's things that I'm forfeiting because I keep listening to the wrong thing.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And you listen, God didn't design you to live angry and full of hate and always upset about everybody else around you.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Amen?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I must be hitting something because I'd not very many amends must be a lot of Omees.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Does it initiate worry and anxiety?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Or does it initiate rest and ensure us?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You see, I understand living by faith, walking by faith does not negate nor does it ignore the fact that there are contrary circumstances.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Whenever Pastor Sacy, whenever she was pregnant with Caleb,
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And the doctor said, there's no heartbeat, and they said, you have a blight at an ovum.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Whenever they said, you need to have a DNC understand this.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We did not ignore the circumstances.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Now that where she was bleeding, we could not ignore that.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: However, we did choose to believe something greater, and that's what God has said, right?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, God has said, you're going to have a daughter who's going to be a dancer in the house of the Lord.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: One of the words that we receive, he said, we were going to have a baby even before the interview.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I have time to go on to the entire testimony.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Most of you have heard it.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm trying to give you this illustration.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We could have listened to one voice, and again, the doctors are just diagnosing based upon what they see in front of them.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: God bless doctors and nurses, and those in the medical community, can everybody say, hallelujah for them.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Probably kept a lot of us alive while we were believing God, amen?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But understand this, we have whenever there's a conflict here.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: What we have to do is choose to say, we have to say, let God be true in every mental liar.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to choose what God said.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: God said you will live a nut die.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to place my hand on your stomach.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You will live a nut die, man.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Whenever Hurricane Michael happened, I know what always being said.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The base is going to close down.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be a wasteland here.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The city is coming to death.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But you know what God said?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I will restore to you all that the cake or worm the Palmermore and the caterpillar is eating.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be better than what it was before.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Can somebody say, hey, man, today?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: See, what have I got to?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I have to put out all those other voices.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: They're all screaming at me one thing.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But you know what I say?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Let God be true.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Lord, I'm going to build my life.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to meditate in your word, day and night.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to let that be the controlling factor in my life, amen?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Listen, doesn't confront the voices you're listening to, doesn't confront improper attitudes or does it justify them?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Let me also say this, look, I know things are going on in our culture, our society, in the stock market and even on a really keep up with it very much at all.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But you know, there could be negative things, I know interest rates are at the
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, but whatever they're at right now, and I know they're different economic factors that are there.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I know that there's still some element of inflation.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know exactly what the numbers are.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, one of the reasons that I choose not to dwell on that, because I'm too busy dwelling on what God has said.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And that is, I am your Jehovah, Jara.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I will supply all your need according to my riches and glory by Christ Jesus.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The question is this, what are you going to meditate on?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: What are you going to listen to all the time?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Are you going to listen to all the bad news?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Are you going to listen to some good news?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The blessed man is the one who's not walking in ungodly counsel.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: not walking in the words of doubt and unbelief and fear and anxiety.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The blessed man is the one who's having his delight in the law of the Lord, and he's meditating on it day and night.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So regardless of what the news may be shouting, I shout louder.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Hallelujah, there's a roar on the inside of me that begins to shout, my God, we'll supply all my need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, it doesn't negated anything.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't mean that there's other things don't exist.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It means I've got something stronger.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like if you're playing at your cards and somebody, you know, they might have a good hand.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: They may have a, I don't know, four of a kind.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, but you know what?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: There are hands that beat that.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what the biggest, some of you wicked people at one time, you know, y'all know what cards, but what?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Royal flush, okay, okay.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't care if you have a, I don't care if you have a full house.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You think you won the game.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Listen, I got the Royal flush.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, hello.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I've got the royal flush, and that is this.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I am a king and priest unto God.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I am a prince and the kingdom of God.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And whatever God has says, it will flush the enemy away.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Hallelujah.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It'll go right down the toilet bowl, round and round and round.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: It goes where it stops nobody knows.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't really care.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: But what I do know is God will do what he said he will do.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Amen.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: See, the blessed man doesn't walk in a garlic council.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He discards wrong voices from his life.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The result is in blessing.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: He's planted.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: There's fruit.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: There's longevity.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: There's prosperity.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: We need to ask the Lord to help us embrace his voice today and discard every wrong voice, voices of doubt, voices of unbelief.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Voices of hatred, voices of fear, voices of anxiety.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Because listen, it's all there.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, if you spin any time on social media, it's always shouting at you.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Don't know what I'm talking about.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it doesn't take very long.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You just scroll through Facebook.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, everything is shouting at you.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And there's so much we live in a day where so much information is just being bombarded by this stuff all the time.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And we have to say, let God be true in every, but that's the way I am going to walk in blessing.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: The blessed man, the blessed man doesn't walk in the counsel of the ungodly or stand in the path of sinners, or sits in the seat of the scornful.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: That means he doesn't start echoing everything else is going on.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Everything else is being said, but his delight is in the law of the Lord and in his law he meditates.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: By the way, the word meditate literally means to murder.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: In other words, what you're talking about is not the news headlines.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: What you're talking about is what God said.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You're talking about the good news.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: You're talking about the promise of God.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, what would happen if you spend as much time or you really need to spend a lot more time talking about the promise of God rather than talking about the latest news headlines?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: rather than what's talking about what's going on in Washington, D.C.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: and what's talking, you know, wherever it's going on at the moment in time.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: And I understand we live in the world and we can be cognizant of those things.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Don't let those things control your life.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Let the promise of God control your life.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Let what God has said control your life.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: That's the way you live in the blessing.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: How many of you want to live in the blessing?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Come on, listen and say, Lord, I want to live in the blessing.
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Can you stand to your feet this morning?
-
[SPEAKER_01]: Come on, stand to your feet.
