  1. [SPEAKER_00]: High Praise Podcasts.

  2. [SPEAKER_00]: Hey everybody, this is Pastor Josh with Lead Pastor here at High Praise and I wanna thank you for downloading today's podcast.

  3. [SPEAKER_00]: We know that this message is going to encourage and bless you.

  4. [SPEAKER_00]: So I want you to open up your heart and receive with the Lord as for you today.

  5. [SPEAKER_00]: Grab your Bible, your phone, whatever you got, don't go to TikTok or Instagram or Facebook if you grab your phone, but go to your Bible app.

  6. [SPEAKER_00]: All right, thank you.

  7. [SPEAKER_00]: Go to Mark 16 while you're turning there.

  8. [SPEAKER_00]: I want to read this scripture again.

  9. [SPEAKER_00]: It is kind of our base for what we've been ministering out of.

  10. [SPEAKER_00]: It is the launch pad for all of this out of first Peter chapter two.

  11. [SPEAKER_00]: It says this.

  12. [SPEAKER_00]: And once again, I'm going to say it again.

  13. [SPEAKER_00]: This is King James, bless God, the good stuff.

  14. [SPEAKER_00]: But ye, that's how we all talk today.

  15. [SPEAKER_00]: But ye, where are ye going for lunch after service?

  16. [SPEAKER_00]: are a chosen generation, a royal priest, a holy nation, and then what?

  17. [SPEAKER_00]: A peculiar people that you should shoe-first show forth.

  18. [SPEAKER_00]: The praises of him who have called you out of darkness into his marvelous two elves, bless God like.

  19. [SPEAKER_00]: which in time passed we were not a people but are now the people of God which had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy we said it again but but Peter begins to talk here you're chosen yes we are loyal less god we're holy yes you are peculiar we're like oh don't know how that hits me and if we want to give a modern modern a synonym we could use the word weird it's your different

  20. [SPEAKER_00]: to your separate that you aren't intended to look at, behave, think, and operate like everybody else.

  21. [SPEAKER_00]: You have been called to the appearance of the world to be a little bit weird.

  22. [SPEAKER_00]: Now whenever you're around kingdom people, you just look like one of the other normal weirdos.

  23. [SPEAKER_00]: But when you hold us up against the culture of people who aren't part of the kingdom of God, not to set ourselves against them, but we should look different from them.

  24. [SPEAKER_00]: We should act differently than them.

  25. [SPEAKER_00]: Our speech should be radically different than their speech, which means that your Facebook and your Instagram should look different than their Facebook and their Instagram.

  26. [SPEAKER_00]: Then whenever they get caught up in talk of hate and division,

  27. [SPEAKER_00]: and separation that we speak words of unity in life that whenever they're posting all sorts of inappropriate things that we don't participate within appropriateness that we are called to look different than everybody else and I'm gonna say it again that doesn't just mean that you don't go to the PG-13 movie because it might hurt somebody's feelings it doesn't mean that you don't go to truck or treat because you're so holy that the devil might get on you

  28. [SPEAKER_00]: It means that we live our lives in love.

  29. [SPEAKER_00]: It means we live in this upside-down kingdom.

  30. [SPEAKER_00]: In week one, a couple of weeks ago, we were reminded, we are this peculiar people.

  31. [SPEAKER_00]: We are chosen, we're royal, we're holy, we're set apart.

  32. [SPEAKER_00]: We're just display his praises.

  33. [SPEAKER_00]: Picture doesn't mean odd for the sake of oddity.

  34. [SPEAKER_00]: It means that we are marked by God's presence.

  35. [SPEAKER_00]: Last week we talked about the upside-down kingdom in the Beatitudes where Jesus redefined blessing.

  36. [SPEAKER_00]: Showing us that greatness comes not through power, but through humility.

  37. [SPEAKER_00]: That great, and when I say power, I mean earthly power.

  38. [SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't come from earthly power, it doesn't come from earthly riches, it doesn't come from any of those things, it doesn't come from influence, nothing wrong with any of those things, but that's not where what makes us different and what God calls blessed, the world calls getting even blessed.

  39. [SPEAKER_00]: Jesus calls loving your enemies blessed.

  40. [SPEAKER_00]: The world calls returning fire for fire.

  41. [SPEAKER_00]: You mess with the bull, you get the horns, that's blessed.

  42. [SPEAKER_00]: Jesus calls blessed, turn the other cheek.

  43. [SPEAKER_00]: When people revile and persecute you, you bless them anyways.

  44. [SPEAKER_00]: That's the upside down kingdom that we are a part of.

  45. [SPEAKER_00]: That's why we look so different when people do evil.

  46. [SPEAKER_00]: We don't return evil for evil, but we overcome evil with good.

  47. [SPEAKER_00]: That when people do us harm, we all return by saying, well, I'm gonna get you.

  48. [SPEAKER_00]: We say God will be our vindicator, and I'm gonna speak blessing over your life, and I'm gonna believe for the Lord to get a hold of you, and you for you, not to harm anyone, any further.

  49. [SPEAKER_00]: All right, don't worry, we're not gonna talk about that again, so you don't have to get weird.

  50. [SPEAKER_00]: The early church thrived because it refused to live like Rome.

  51. [SPEAKER_00]: And it chose to live like Christ.

  52. [SPEAKER_00]: Now as we jump into this in week three, I want to press this into this next inheritance we have.

  53. [SPEAKER_00]: This next thing that Marxist is being weird is being different.

  54. [SPEAKER_00]: Our next inheritance is supernatural power.

  55. [SPEAKER_00]: If we are peculiar, and if we are upside down, but we are powerless, we become strange and irrelevant.

  56. [SPEAKER_00]: If we don't have the power of the spirit that is operating in our lives, we will just be this oddity side show off on the side of things.

  57. [SPEAKER_00]: The early church changed the world because they loved, and I believe because they loved it's one of the things that produce supernatural power.

  58. [SPEAKER_00]: Love will produce supernatural power, all right.

  59. [SPEAKER_00]: We think it's a superpower like a spider bit us and we can shoot webs all of a sudden.

  60. [SPEAKER_00]: You aren't Spider-Man.

  61. [SPEAKER_00]: You are a receiver of the presence in the Spirit of God.

  62. [SPEAKER_00]: And the presence in Spirit of God is going to compel you to live in peace.

  63. [SPEAKER_00]: It's going to compel you to love.

  64. [SPEAKER_00]: But it's also going to compel you to lay hands on the sick and see them recover.

  65. [SPEAKER_00]: It's going to compel you to live in the miraculous.

  66. [SPEAKER_00]: It's going to compel you to begin to decree and declare things and see them happen and see them done.

  67. [SPEAKER_00]: The church was born in power.

  68. [SPEAKER_00]: at Pinnacost, 120 in an upper room changed the world.

  69. [SPEAKER_00]: 120 people, which by the way, it's really interesting.

  70. [SPEAKER_00]: It didn't start with 120.

  71. [SPEAKER_00]: It started with at least 500.

  72. [SPEAKER_00]: And Jesus told them, hey guys, you all just go Terry and Jerusalem.

  73. [SPEAKER_00]: You all go pray, you all stay there until you receive power.

  74. [SPEAKER_00]: And there was at least 380 that said, this is taking too long.

  75. [SPEAKER_00]: There is a cost.

  76. [SPEAKER_00]: to be somebody who operates and walks in supernatural power.

  77. [SPEAKER_00]: And some of it is just getting to where you can set your face like Flint and say, I'm not gonna move.

  78. [SPEAKER_00]: I believe what God said.

  79. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna follow the words of Jesus.

  80. [SPEAKER_00]: Even if it takes longer than I thought it was gonna take, even if it cost me, even if it's difficult, even if I lose friends, even if people say I'm crazy, even if I go, I don't understand you.

  81. [SPEAKER_00]: It's okay, I'm not trying to be understood by you.

  82. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm trying to be obedient to the Son.

  83. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm trying to be obedient to Jesus.

  84. [SPEAKER_00]: And in being obedient to Jesus, there's something I'm gonna receive on my life that money can't buy.

  85. [SPEAKER_00]: The power can't influence.

  86. [SPEAKER_00]: There's a holy ghost power that makes us different from everybody else that only comes to being obedient to the words of Jesus.

  87. [SPEAKER_00]: You can't be disobedient to what he said and expect to receive his power.

  88. [SPEAKER_00]: You can't expect to not live in the be attitude and then go empty out hospitals.

  89. [SPEAKER_00]: You can't expect to be possessed with the world and this age of the world and cast out devils without power, Christianity is just a philosophy.

  90. [SPEAKER_00]: But with power, Christianity is resurrection life.

  91. [SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of great philosophers who can say a lot of great things just about human existence.

  92. [SPEAKER_00]: But there's only one person who gave us commands.

  93. [SPEAKER_00]: And when they killed him, he didn't stay dead.

  94. [SPEAKER_00]: There's only one person that said, I've got the power to back up what I'm telling you.

  95. [SPEAKER_00]: I've told you the way to live.

  96. [SPEAKER_00]: And now I've shown you that I am the son of God.

  97. [SPEAKER_00]: I've shown you that I hold all authority and all power.

  98. [SPEAKER_00]: This is my beloved son.

  99. [SPEAKER_00]: Here, him, and we're going to walk in the way that he said.

  100. [SPEAKER_00]: Are you all with me this morning?

  101. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm fired up.

  102. [SPEAKER_00]: This can be a little pinocostal this morning.

  103. [SPEAKER_00]: That's okay.

  104. [SPEAKER_00]: The supernatural isn't fringe.

  105. [SPEAKER_00]: It's the family business of God's people.

  106. [SPEAKER_00]: The supernatural isn't intended just for the weird Christians who speak that rubbish who get really excited during worship and jump up and down.

  107. [SPEAKER_00]: Who the first time you may have come into a service as influenced by, by pentacostal Christianity, you're like, what is wrong with these people?

  108. [SPEAKER_00]: I've went to the wrong place.

  109. [SPEAKER_00]: God just helped me get through the service.

  110. [SPEAKER_00]: Some of y'all that may have been this morning.

  111. [SPEAKER_00]: Welcome.

  112. [SPEAKER_00]: Why is this man shouting at me?

  113. [SPEAKER_00]: Because we believe that there is a grave shaking.

  114. [SPEAKER_00]: That there's a dead raising.

  115. [SPEAKER_00]: power in the room that there's a heart healing, a hell stealing, a no-sealing power.

  116. [SPEAKER_00]: And Jesus is coming to tear off the roof and for a move in our midst and move among us, we believe that the grave is still empty, we believe he still heals, we believe he still saves, we believe he still delivers and we're gonna walk in that way all the days of our lives.

  117. [SPEAKER_00]: Why y'all excited?

  118. [SPEAKER_00]: Cause a grave is empty.

  119. [SPEAKER_00]: Why are you excited?

  120. [SPEAKER_00]: Because I was on the road to hell and he rescued me.

  121. [SPEAKER_00]: Why are you so excited?

  122. [SPEAKER_00]: Because I was sick in my body and he healed me.

  123. [SPEAKER_00]: Why are you so excited?

  124. [SPEAKER_00]: Cause I've seen marriages on the friends, put back together.

  125. [SPEAKER_00]: Why do you shout so much?

  126. [SPEAKER_00]: Cause my kids are on the road to hell and God arrested them and brought them home.

  127. [SPEAKER_00]: Come on, somebody.

  128. [SPEAKER_00]: Sayaba.

  129. [SPEAKER_00]: Let's read Scripture, Mark 16.

  130. [SPEAKER_00]: Y'all with me?

  131. [SPEAKER_00]: I know y'all are with me this morning.

  132. [SPEAKER_00]: Y'all are acting completely different than you elected last week.

  133. [SPEAKER_00]: Last week talking about loving y'all's loving your enemies, y'all were quiet.

  134. [SPEAKER_00]: There's power, praise God!

  135. [SPEAKER_00]: You know how you get the power?

  136. [SPEAKER_00]: Love your enemies.

  137. [SPEAKER_00]: Listen to the words of Jesus.

  138. [SPEAKER_00]: Do good, do whatever people do evil to you.

  139. [SPEAKER_00]: You want the power?

  140. [SPEAKER_00]: Leave them be attitudes.

  141. [SPEAKER_00]: Mark 16, 17, and these signs will follow those who what, those who what, believe in my name, they will cast out demons.

  142. [SPEAKER_00]: They will speak with new tongues.

  143. [SPEAKER_00]: They will take up serpents.

  144. [SPEAKER_00]: Don't worry, we're not doing that this morning.

  145. [SPEAKER_00]: Or ever, you're not in the Appalachian Mountains or Promise We Are That Kind of Been A Gostle.

  146. [SPEAKER_00]: If they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them.

  147. [SPEAKER_00]: They will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.

  148. [SPEAKER_00]: So then after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and He sat down at the right hand of the God, and they went out and preached everywhere, get this, the Lord working with them, and confirming the Word through the accompanying signs.

  149. [SPEAKER_00]: What are the accompanying signs?

  150. [SPEAKER_00]: The things He's just talked about.

  151. [SPEAKER_00]: The things He's just talked about.

  152. [SPEAKER_00]: That's the accompanying signs that you're gonna cast out demons.

  153. [SPEAKER_00]: That you're going to preach me and you're going to preach my word and you're going to cast out demons.

  154. [SPEAKER_00]: That you're going to preach me and you're going to preach my kingdom and you're going to let hands on the sick and see them recover.

  155. [SPEAKER_00]: That you're going to preach my kingdom and whenever they try to come against you, no deadly thing is going to harm you.

  156. [SPEAKER_00]: That's what Jesus said.

  157. [SPEAKER_00]: Notice that.

  158. [SPEAKER_00]: Jesus said this.

  159. [SPEAKER_00]: It's still up there.

  160. [SPEAKER_00]: In verse 17, thought up for me real quick.

  161. [SPEAKER_00]: Jesus said, these signs will follow those who what?

  162. [SPEAKER_00]: Believe.

  163. [SPEAKER_00]: You know what it doesn't say?

  164. [SPEAKER_00]: These signs shall follow the 12th.

  165. [SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't say these signs shall follow the first century church.

  166. [SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't say these signs shall follow everybody until the canonization of scripture and then I'm going to stop.

  167. [SPEAKER_00]: That's not what it says.

  168. [SPEAKER_00]: And by the way, I'm not saying this, this is Jesus.

  169. [SPEAKER_00]: And by the way, this is confirmed in multiple gospels, not just by one.

  170. [SPEAKER_00]: And these signs shall follow those who believe.

  171. [SPEAKER_00]: Those who believe.

  172. [SPEAKER_00]: How many believers do we have in the room this morning?

  173. [SPEAKER_00]: Come on, I said, how many believers do we have in the room this morning?

  174. [SPEAKER_00]: What Jesus said is this, if you're a believer, these are the signs that are meant to mark your life, that your life isn't meant to be marked by just simply living a good life, that your life is meant to be marked by the supernatural power of God, not just to change you, but to go into this world and see transformation, to go into this world and see people free of demonic oppression and possession.

  175. [SPEAKER_00]: to go into the world and see sickness flee at the name of Jesus.

  176. [SPEAKER_00]: That's what marks us.

  177. [SPEAKER_00]: So it makes us weird that whenever we get around sickness can't stay.

  178. [SPEAKER_00]: I said that whenever we get around sickness can't stay.

  179. [SPEAKER_00]: Then whenever we get around demons get stirred up, you know why they get stirred up because they know their time is short.

  180. [SPEAKER_00]: that we know this and whenever we go places, that no matter what people say against us, the God is with us, and if he is for us, who can be against us, what have we to fear with God on our side?

  181. [SPEAKER_00]: Jesus didn't say that they might follow those who believe.

  182. [SPEAKER_00]: Not sometimes, not if you're spiritual enough.

  183. [SPEAKER_00]: Not if you just believe the right doctrine and have the right ideas.

  184. [SPEAKER_00]: He says, if you believe these are the signs that are meant to follow you, casting out demons.

  185. [SPEAKER_00]: Authority over darkness is the believers in heritance.

  186. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm saying again, Authority over darkness is the believers in heritance.

  187. [SPEAKER_00]: I get really, really fed up and tired of people acting like they should be scared of the devil.

  188. [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

  189. [SPEAKER_00]: People there's a witch around every corner.

  190. [SPEAKER_00]: The witches were coming against this, like, Elphabelle, like, what are we talking about?

  191. [SPEAKER_00]: any sort of demonic power is really powerless in the lives of the people of God.

  192. [SPEAKER_00]: If you think that the devil has authority over you, he does not.

  193. [SPEAKER_00]: He has been ripped and stripped of every ounce of sham authority.

  194. [SPEAKER_00]: Scripture tells us that Jesus made a show of them openly, triumphed that he marched them through the streets in victory.

  195. [SPEAKER_00]: All authority and power has been ripped from them, and it has been given to you as a believer.

  196. [SPEAKER_00]: You have authority over the power of darkness.

  197. [SPEAKER_00]: Why do I believe that?

  198. [SPEAKER_00]: Because Jesus sent it.

  199. [SPEAKER_00]: You're going to have to be scared of.

  200. [SPEAKER_00]: I've got to be a won't drive past Spirit Halloween.

  201. [SPEAKER_00]: Scared a demon might get on him.

  202. [SPEAKER_00]: If our faith is that weak, we're in trouble.

  203. [SPEAKER_00]: I won't walk by the theater that's playing that horror movie, because if I do, there may just be a demon that jumps out of the movie and gets on me.

  204. [SPEAKER_00]: Half of your mind sets are more demonic than that movie, but let's a whole other conversation all together.

  205. [SPEAKER_00]: says, they'll speak a new tongue, speaking in tongues, it's our inheritance.

  206. [SPEAKER_00]: A prayer language that connects us to heaven, so laying hands on the sick, releasing God's healing into broken bodies, protection from deadly attacks, God's divine covering for those on mission.

  207. [SPEAKER_00]: By the way, we see this in the New Testament.

  208. [SPEAKER_00]: In Acts 16, Paul cast out a demon who's in a slave girl.

  209. [SPEAKER_00]: Science followed his ministry.

  210. [SPEAKER_00]: In Acts 2, we know the Spirit falls, and they speak with new tongues, signs followed at Jesus and His followers.

  211. [SPEAKER_00]: In Acts 3 Peter heals the layman at the temple gate, signs followed their ministry, and first Corinthians 2 Paul preached with demonstration of the Spirit, and a power listen, every sign is not to witness to you and how annoying to do you are.

  212. [SPEAKER_00]: Signs and wonders and miracles are not so people can know that you're called, blessed God, and that you're anointed and that you're holy and that you prayed more than everybody else.

  213. [SPEAKER_00]: You know the Scriptures, that's not what it's for.

  214. [SPEAKER_00]: Signs and wonders and miracles are to testify to the Spirit of Jesus that there is an empty grave that He has all authority in all power, that He is the king of kings and the Lord of Lords, that He is the Son of God.

  215. [SPEAKER_00]: Whenever miracles happen in this place, it ain't because of me.

  216. [SPEAKER_00]: You think because of that, it's not because of Pastor Casey or Pastor Garrett, it's not because of us, it's not because of Pastor Castle, it's not because of any of our staff or leaders, it's because Jesus loves his people and he loves to show forth his power, no flesh glories in his presence and they ain't about me, it's about him.

  217. [SPEAKER_00]: Signs don't make us strange, they make us credible.

  218. [SPEAKER_00]: Signs shouldn't be considered strange, it's credibility.

  219. [SPEAKER_00]: It is the confirmation of the word that is preached.

  220. [SPEAKER_00]: It is the confirmation, listen to early church, wasn't known simply for eloquence.

  221. [SPEAKER_00]: Now don't get me wrong, Paul was incredibly eloquent.

  222. [SPEAKER_00]: So eloquence, in fact, that we're still arguing over what he meant.

  223. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

  224. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

  225. [SPEAKER_00]: Right?

  226. [SPEAKER_00]: He was certainly eloquent, but he wasn't simply known for his eloquence.

  227. [SPEAKER_00]: He was known for signs that followed.

  228. [SPEAKER_00]: He was known for the power of God.

  229. [SPEAKER_00]: When believers act on the word, God will always confirm his word with signs that follow.

  230. [SPEAKER_00]: So the question is this, question is this, something that's made challenge you a little bit.

  231. [SPEAKER_00]: If signs aren't following, are we truly believing?

  232. [SPEAKER_00]: If science aren't following, are we truly believing?

  233. [SPEAKER_00]: Because the Spirit will confirm the word.

  234. [SPEAKER_00]: Acts 1A says, as you should receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you shall be witnesses.

  235. [SPEAKER_00]: The disciples in Jesus are the first century.

  236. [SPEAKER_00]: I want you to realize this.

  237. [SPEAKER_00]: Before the church, before me to pick up, before Jesus dies and is resurrected and sins the Spirit, the disciples are looking for Jesus to bring

  238. [SPEAKER_00]: The first century church, or the first century Jews, excuse me, are looking for Jesus to bring about this political kingdom, right?

  239. [SPEAKER_00]: You know the reason they shouted crucify him is because they didn't think he was the one.

  240. [SPEAKER_00]: Because they were looking for the guy who was gonna overthrow Rome, not the guy who was gonna be arrested and beaten by Rome.

  241. [SPEAKER_00]: So whenever he is arrested and beaten the same ones that said Hosanna to the Son of David, turned around and said crucify him.

  242. [SPEAKER_00]: Because they wanted this political kingdom.

  243. [SPEAKER_00]: But Jesus comes up and never he shows this.

  244. [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't come to conquer Rome.

  245. [SPEAKER_00]: I came to conquer death.

  246. [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't come to conquer Caesar.

  247. [SPEAKER_00]: I came to conquer death itself.

  248. [SPEAKER_00]: I came to conquer hell.

  249. [SPEAKER_00]: And it was much bigger than they could have ever thought.

  250. [SPEAKER_00]: Me put it to you this way.

  251. [SPEAKER_00]: Jesus didn't lower the expectation of what he was gonna do.

  252. [SPEAKER_00]: He raised it.

  253. [SPEAKER_00]: He didn't defeat Rome.

  254. [SPEAKER_00]: He defeated the power of Rome

  255. [SPEAKER_00]: The spirit didn't come for entertainment, but for witness.

  256. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm just going to say, I do, but I have a fear that the church, we have hit rewind and we have gone all the way back to being like the first century Jews.

  257. [SPEAKER_00]: And we are looking for the church to establish a political kingdom.

  258. [SPEAKER_00]: rather than to topple a power of death that has gripped the hearts of people.

  259. [SPEAKER_00]: We want to get politics right.

  260. [SPEAKER_00]: Let's get the hearts of people right.

  261. [SPEAKER_00]: Politics are just a reflection.

  262. [SPEAKER_00]: That's all it is.

  263. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a reflection of the hearts of people.

  264. [SPEAKER_00]: You don't only have so many political problems, because we've got a lot of messed up people who need Jesus.

  265. [SPEAKER_00]: And you're not going to fix the problem just by getting the political issue fixed.

  266. [SPEAKER_00]: All we're going to do is be pulling weeds for around the police.

  267. [SPEAKER_00]: We're cutting weeds.

  268. [SPEAKER_00]: They're going to grow right back.

  269. [SPEAKER_00]: Listen, the mountain we need to be concentrating on is the mountain of the heart of man that Jesus is the answer to, that he's sin us as the church to be a witness to in power and to see change in transformation.

  270. [SPEAKER_00]: That's where our focus needs to be.

  271. [SPEAKER_00]: on Capitol Hill.

  272. [SPEAKER_00]: But I sure have seen one that died on the cross.

  273. [SPEAKER_00]: And I sure have seen one that empty to grave.

  274. [SPEAKER_00]: And I sure have seen one that showed up for me.

  275. [SPEAKER_00]: That's word is not weak.

  276. [SPEAKER_00]: It is always backed by Heaven's fire.

  277. [SPEAKER_00]: Paul didn't rely simply on rhetoric.

  278. [SPEAKER_00]: He relied on demonstration.

  279. [SPEAKER_00]: The word without the spirit is information.

  280. [SPEAKER_00]: The word with the spirit is transformation.

  281. [SPEAKER_00]: John G. Lake, to me, I've heard of John G. Lake, great healing revival assist.

  282. [SPEAKER_00]: His healing room is actually later in his life through this.

  283. [SPEAKER_00]: John G. Lake would be going to open up healing rooms, and all he would do is preach the gospel.

  284. [SPEAKER_00]: He wouldn't even lay hands on people.

  285. [SPEAKER_00]: He didn't have altercals.

  286. [SPEAKER_00]: Lake would stand and preach the gospel, Christ and him crucified and resurrected.

  287. [SPEAKER_00]: The Jesus wanted to heal and masses were healed in healing rooms without anyone laying hands on him, without any, not that I'm not against laying on of hands, we're called to do that.

  288. [SPEAKER_00]: But without any of that, simply people were healed because the gospel was preached, because when Jesus is preached, signs follow.

  289. [SPEAKER_00]: You know why we see healings in this church because Jesus is preached.

  290. [SPEAKER_00]: You know why we see cancer disappear because Jesus is preach.

  291. [SPEAKER_00]: You know why we see diabetes healed because Jesus is preach.

  292. [SPEAKER_00]: You know why we see miracles in families and in marriages because Jesus is preach and He is supreme overall.

  293. [SPEAKER_00]: Miracles.

  294. [SPEAKER_00]: Miracles are God's amen.

  295. [SPEAKER_00]: Do His own preaching.

  296. [SPEAKER_00]: They're God's amen.

  297. [SPEAKER_00]: You with me, when the gospel is preached in faith, the spirit shows up devalued at it.

  298. [SPEAKER_00]: Supernatural demonstration should be our normal.

  299. [SPEAKER_00]: That's what makes us weird.

  300. [SPEAKER_00]: Because we don't believe that a doctor's diagnosis is final.

  301. [SPEAKER_00]: That's weird.

  302. [SPEAKER_00]: That's who we are, though.

  303. [SPEAKER_00]: That they may say one thing.

  304. [SPEAKER_00]: We're thankful for doctors, we're thankful for nurses.

  305. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm thankful for medicine.

  306. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm thankful for all of those things.

  307. [SPEAKER_00]: And the church says,

  308. [SPEAKER_00]: Amen.

  309. [SPEAKER_00]: And if I get sick, I'm not going to sit at home and go bless God.

  310. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm leaving for America.

  311. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to go to the doctor.

  312. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to be going to the doctor.

  313. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to be doing what I can do.

  314. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to be dressing things in the natural.

  315. [SPEAKER_00]: But I believe whenever my natural ability ends.

  316. [SPEAKER_00]: And when man's wisdom and knowledge ends,

  317. [SPEAKER_00]: that Jesus shows up to say, guess what?

  318. [SPEAKER_00]: I am still a healer.

  319. [SPEAKER_00]: That just like the woman with the issue of blood, that if you just touch the him of his garment, that you can be healed, just like Paul, who said, who constantly was performing miracles, like that I just simply believe.

  320. [SPEAKER_00]: That supernatural power is still our inheritance, that it's our normal.

  321. [SPEAKER_00]: Jesus in John 14 says,

  322. [SPEAKER_00]: The works I do, he will do also, greater works than these he will do.

  323. [SPEAKER_00]: Jesus didn't lower the expectation, he raised them for the church.

  324. [SPEAKER_00]: He didn't say, do you best?

  325. [SPEAKER_00]: He said, the works I do, you're going to do the same thing.

  326. [SPEAKER_00]: And they've watched him, he'll do the sick, and they've watched him raise the dead, and they've watched him multiply the food.

  327. [SPEAKER_00]: I need the food to decrease for me, not multiply.

  328. [SPEAKER_00]: They've watched him work in science and wonders and miracles.

  329. [SPEAKER_00]: He said, hey, guys, what you're seeing me do right now?

  330. [SPEAKER_00]: You're on deck, you're next.

  331. [SPEAKER_00]: What I'm doing, you're gonna do.

  332. [SPEAKER_00]: And they did an ax five, Peter's shadow healed the sick.

  333. [SPEAKER_00]: An ax eight, Philip cast out demons in Samaria and it fills the city with joy.

  334. [SPEAKER_00]: An ax 20, Paul raises a man from the dead.

  335. [SPEAKER_00]: The supernatural for the early church was a daily experience.

  336. [SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't a rare headline.

  337. [SPEAKER_00]: Wigglesworth, Smith Wigglesworth, the great apostle of faith.

  338. [SPEAKER_00]: He has this quote.

  339. [SPEAKER_00]: He's the other, for me, Wigglesworth said this.

  340. [SPEAKER_00]: He said, all the impossibility is with us when we measure God by the limitations of our unbelief.

  341. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna read that again, because I know that maybe a little bit, we don't talk like that anymore.

  342. [SPEAKER_00]: All the impossibility is with us when we measure God by the limitations of our unbelief.

  343. [SPEAKER_00]: What Smith is saying here is that the only limitation that God has is our own unbelief.

  344. [SPEAKER_00]: There is no limit to what God can do.

  345. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm saying to you, there is no limit to what God can do.

  346. [SPEAKER_00]: The only thing that limits God's working in our life is our own unbelief.

  347. [SPEAKER_00]: Is our own faith, is our own expectation.

  348. [SPEAKER_00]: And by the way, Wigglesworth lived this.

  349. [SPEAKER_00]: I'll tell you a couple of Smith-Wigglesworth stories, all some stories, I know it's part of the messages you all like.

  350. [SPEAKER_00]: Wigglesworth once they brought a dead woman to him.

  351. [SPEAKER_00]: And he lifted the woman against the wall three times commanding live.

  352. [SPEAKER_00]: And on the third time, she breathed again and she was resurrected and came back to life.

  353. [SPEAKER_00]: That's weird, but praise God, for people like Smith Wigglesworth, that when it looked weird, I'm going to tell me to hold this dead woman against the wall and shall live.

  354. [SPEAKER_00]: By the way, that's one of the milder stories of Smith.

  355. [SPEAKER_00]: There's another time there was a man, a pastor, he went to minister four, and he had been in some accident and as a result, he had no feet.

  356. [SPEAKER_00]: He was had some accident and he was cut off at the shins.

  357. [SPEAKER_00]: And Smith told him he goes, I want you to go.

  358. [SPEAKER_00]: I think God told me to tell you this.

  359. [SPEAKER_00]: It's your to go to the store.

  360. [SPEAKER_00]: And you're supposed to buy some shoes.

  361. [SPEAKER_00]: This man had really no need for shoes.

  362. [SPEAKER_00]: And he goes, and you put your legs in the shoes.

  363. [SPEAKER_00]: And whenever the man bought the shoes and he put his shins in the shoes, God regenerated feet for him.

  364. [SPEAKER_00]: These are the kind of stories that whenever you tell them people go, what, yes, and we are inheritors of the same power, of the same glory, of the same miracles, if God did it then, then he can do it once again.

  365. [SPEAKER_00]: Smith Wigglesworth was called the apostle of faith because he just simply believed there was nothing that was too difficult for God to do, which by the way some of us mainly to take a many to take a page from Smith in the way that he lived his life to build our faith.

  366. [SPEAKER_00]: Smith wouldn't allow a newspaper in his house.

  367. [SPEAKER_00]: True.

  368. [SPEAKER_00]: Smith said, I don't even, you don't even bring that stuff in my house.

  369. [SPEAKER_00]: I ain't reading it because all it does is stirs up doubt and unbelief and problems and I'm believing for what God said and I'm not going to feel myself with what the world is saying.

  370. [SPEAKER_00]: I said, I'm going to read the scriptures, I'm going to send in faith and I'm going to pray and I'm going to see miracles happen.

  371. [SPEAKER_00]: We're in heriters of this.

  372. [SPEAKER_00]: It's not weird for the supernatural to happen.

  373. [SPEAKER_00]: It's weird when it doesn't.

  374. [SPEAKER_00]: Shift your expectations, miracles should not be rare.

  375. [SPEAKER_00]: They should be regular.

  376. [SPEAKER_00]: I mentioned it already, but with a great man of God, like Smith, Wigglesworth, we're in herders of this legacy of power.

  377. [SPEAKER_00]: The apostles handed the baton to the next generation.

  378. [SPEAKER_00]: Ireneeus talked about how believers healed the sick, how they raised the dead, how they cast out demons,

  379. [SPEAKER_00]: Origin talked about how Christians expelled evil spirits, and in his words performed purest, Tatulian was known to mock idols, declaring that Christ alone heals and delivers.

  380. [SPEAKER_00]: The fathers of this faith that we inherited never could have imagined a powerless church.

  381. [SPEAKER_00]: Miracles were simply assumed, persecution couldn't quench it, fire as a matter of fact spread

  382. [SPEAKER_00]: We inherit this legacy of power from people like Maria Woodworth etter, a name we probably don't hear a lot.

  383. [SPEAKER_00]: She was the daughter of an alcoholic father.

  384. [SPEAKER_00]: She grew up in abject poverty in Ohio.

  385. [SPEAKER_00]: Wasn't even exposed to the church until her teenage years.

  386. [SPEAKER_00]: She marries a man.

  387. [SPEAKER_00]: But before that, in 1855, her father died when she was 11 years old.

  388. [SPEAKER_00]: She was forced into the workforce to provide for her family.

  389. [SPEAKER_00]: She would later marry a man who you know throw her slide up there.

  390. [SPEAKER_00]: She would later marry a man who would cheat on her repeatedly.

  391. [SPEAKER_00]: Don't you all like that hairdo?

  392. [SPEAKER_00]: Praise God.

  393. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm thankful for our pentacostal heritage and legacy and people who look like that.

  394. [SPEAKER_00]: But they walked in power.

  395. [SPEAKER_00]: You may not understand or like their hairstyle.

  396. [SPEAKER_00]: But they walked in power.

  397. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm thankful for church mothers and fathers who may not have been hip.

  398. [SPEAKER_00]: But they knew how to pray.

  399. [SPEAKER_00]: After she divorced her husband due to his rampant infidelity, she decided at 47 years old to enter the ministry.

  400. [SPEAKER_00]: 47 years old, she felt a woman, by the way, in the late 1800s, decides to enter the ministry.

  401. [SPEAKER_00]: And she ends up getting associated with the Quakers.

  402. [SPEAKER_00]: And while she's associated with the Quakers,

  403. [SPEAKER_00]: The baptism in the Holy Spirit while praying for an annoying thing for service.

  404. [SPEAKER_00]: She then begins to preach, and immediately she begins to see conversions, and she begins to see miracles.

  405. [SPEAKER_00]: Her ministry becomes so powerful, she purchased a tent, purchased as a tent that was 8,000 people, that she travels around the nation packing out.

  406. [SPEAKER_00]: And as she preaches, people who were, that there are reports of people 10 and 15 miles away sitting in diners and sitting in their homes that as she preached, the Spirit of God began to feel their homes without here began to fill the diners, without hearing a word that she preached and they began to cry out to Jesus and repent.

  407. [SPEAKER_00]: There's reports of people that would show up to mock her.

  408. [SPEAKER_00]: because people were getting slain in the Spirit.

  409. [SPEAKER_00]: And as they would begin to protest and mock in the middle of service, the Spirit of God would hit them.

  410. [SPEAKER_00]: They're stories of people within three and four miles on college campuses.

  411. [SPEAKER_00]: They were having parties.

  412. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, they even did that then.

  413. [SPEAKER_00]: And their parties turned into prayer meetings.

  414. [SPEAKER_00]: Because the Spirit of God filled the rooms.

  415. [SPEAKER_00]: We are in heriters of this kind of faith.

  416. [SPEAKER_00]: We are in haremsters of these kind of people.

  417. [SPEAKER_00]: We are here today, not because of us.

  418. [SPEAKER_00]: We are here today because of Jesus, who went on to Peter and Paul, who passed it to Irenaus, who passed it to Pauli Carp, who passed it to origin, who passed it to the desert fathers, who this continues on through the years and is passed on and on and on and they're working in miracles and signs and wonders and then you have people like Maria Woodenworth etter who was called the mother of Pentecostalism by many.

  419. [SPEAKER_00]: We're here today because they were willing to simply believe

  420. [SPEAKER_00]: And when people thought they were crazy, they kept doing what Jesus said, anyway.

  421. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure people told Maria, you can't preach your woman.

  422. [SPEAKER_00]: And she said, watch Jesus confirm exactly what I'm doing right now.

  423. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure there's people that said those miracles is Smith moved in, weren't real.

  424. [SPEAKER_00]: And he said, you see that man right there?

  425. [SPEAKER_00]: He didn't have feet yesterday, and he does today.

  426. [SPEAKER_00]: We're in hairtures of that faith.

  427. [SPEAKER_00]: Come on, Steve.

  428. [SPEAKER_00]: This is the baton that we carry.

  429. [SPEAKER_00]: People like Catherine Coolman, who in her meetings wheelchairs were abandoned.

  430. [SPEAKER_00]: Blind eyes were opened.

  431. [SPEAKER_00]: People like John G. Lake, who I mentioned earlier, who had healing rooms in Spokane.

  432. [SPEAKER_00]: And later on, the government would actually call Spokane the healthyest city in the world.

  433. [SPEAKER_00]: When John G. Lake was alive,

  434. [SPEAKER_00]: There's people where if they knew they needed healing, they went to that room, and they received it.

  435. [SPEAKER_00]: In Iran today, the country of Iran, well, you probably don't realize this, Iran has the fastest growing Christian population in the world.

  436. [SPEAKER_00]: The fastest growing Christian populace in the world is in Iran.

  437. [SPEAKER_00]: And you know what's happening, and they're per under persecution, under pressure, under problems, God's doing miracles in the church in Iran, and word is spreading.

  438. [SPEAKER_00]: We're inheritors of that family story.

  439. [SPEAKER_00]: We are airs to centuries of miracles.

  440. [SPEAKER_00]: Don't drop the baton.

  441. [SPEAKER_00]: Don't drop the baton.

  442. [SPEAKER_00]: refuse to drop it.

  443. [SPEAKER_00]: We're gonna run this with fire.

  444. [SPEAKER_00]: It's our leg to run.

  445. [SPEAKER_00]: How many legs are left?

  446. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.

  447. [SPEAKER_00]: But I do know this on be faithful to run the leg that I'm called to run and I'm gonna preach Jesus till He comes back or till I ain't here no more.

  448. [SPEAKER_00]: But whichever comes, I'm gonna be faithful.

  449. [SPEAKER_00]: No matter what happens, I'm gonna be faithful.

  450. [SPEAKER_00]: I ain't even worried about the only thing I'm worried about is Jesus called me worthy and let me be faithful to run.

  451. [SPEAKER_00]: In the way that they ran.

  452. [SPEAKER_00]: Let that be my legacy.

  453. [SPEAKER_00]: Let it be your legacy.

  454. [SPEAKER_00]: That we simply believed to be different and God confirmed it.

  455. [SPEAKER_00]: That we simply believed Jesus was enough and he said, I'm gonna show the world.

  456. [SPEAKER_00]: through what you do, through me, all things are possible.

  457. [SPEAKER_00]: We're peculiar, we're weird, we live upside down.

  458. [SPEAKER_00]: We walk in supernatural power, the spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in us.

  459. [SPEAKER_00]: Go heal the sick, go liberate the captive, go live this weird holy life,

  460. [SPEAKER_00]: It's what we're called to you.

  461. [SPEAKER_00]: I was thinking about this when the close I know what time it is.

  462. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going along.

  463. [SPEAKER_00]: I told you all about Wednesday.

  464. [SPEAKER_00]: It's genetic.

  465. [SPEAKER_00]: I was thinking about this though.

  466. [SPEAKER_00]: Thinking about this.

  467. [SPEAKER_00]: There's this thing.

  468. [SPEAKER_00]: It's not probably as prominent in culture today, but it should be.

  469. [SPEAKER_00]: There was this thing about just

  470. [SPEAKER_00]: living honorably to not bring shame to your family name, right?

  471. [SPEAKER_00]: That one reason you didn't do wrong things was because you didn't wanna bring shame on your family.

  472. [SPEAKER_00]: We probably need to revive all of that just naturally.

  473. [SPEAKER_00]: Amen.

  474. [SPEAKER_00]: That we need to live honorably, that we need to be understanding that I say this good people, right?

  475. [SPEAKER_00]: And if you don't have that legacy in your family, start it, so your sons and daughters, one day we'll go, I want to live right, because I don't want to bring shame upon my family.

  476. [SPEAKER_00]: Everywhere, I can't hardly go anywhere.

  477. [SPEAKER_00]: People hear my last name.

  478. [SPEAKER_00]: They're gonna ask me, one of two questions.

  479. [SPEAKER_00]: They're gonna ask me, do you know RL?

  480. [SPEAKER_00]: Are they gonna go, do you know Robert Gaye?

  481. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm always blessed and honored to be able to answer,

  482. [SPEAKER_00]: appropriately to who it is.

  483. [SPEAKER_00]: That's my grandfather.

  484. [SPEAKER_00]: That's my dad.

  485. [SPEAKER_00]: And there's a weight that should come with that.

  486. [SPEAKER_00]: That we live honorably.

  487. [SPEAKER_00]: But let me tell you what we should think about this in relation to the church as well.

  488. [SPEAKER_00]: That whenever we hear these stories.

  489. [SPEAKER_00]: of these men and women of God, that we go, I'm going to continue to carry that legacy because I hold them as such honor and esteem that one day through the Lord Terry, I just pray that I'm even in my new thought able to carry the same thing that they're

  490. [SPEAKER_00]: and we're in Heroders of that.

  491. [SPEAKER_00]: We believe in the supernatural.

  492. [SPEAKER_00]: We believe God's moving.

  493. [SPEAKER_00]: We believe that the dead are still being raised today.

  494. [SPEAKER_00]: We believe blind eyes are still being open today.

  495. [SPEAKER_00]: We believe that people bound in perversion are still being freed today.

  496. [SPEAKER_00]: We believe that people being tormented by evil spirits can still live in peace today.

  497. [SPEAKER_00]: We still believe in a supernatural God who works and signs wonders in miracles and confirms his work.

  498. [SPEAKER_00]: We send up to your feet.
