We're going on a bit of an announcement, Jenny, bit of a story Janist.

Oh, you picked a good Sunday to come to church.

Every Sunday's a good Sunday to come to church, just so you know.

All right, so we've got another announcement to make.

So we've just had the wonderful announcement around Tim and Naomi

and Sarah, which is absolutely beautiful and praise the Lord,

uh, for how that has all unfolded.

And, uh, so we have a similar transition happening in the realm of young adults.

And, uh, so our beautiful summer, oh, he's actually serving in kids this morning.

Are you there?

Oh, come down summer.

Come down summer.

Oh, I'm so glad you're here.

Oh, just love summer so much.

And so summer has served faithfully in our young.

Come on up.

Come on.

Um, in our young adults leading our young adults ministry For how long now?

Three years.

Three years.

Three years.

What's that in dog years?

That's like a lot.

Um, and she's just done the most beautiful job and it's, it's not

the easiest space in the world.

One of the real challenges about being a leader in young adults is you, you're

trying to lead your peers and that is.

Particularly in that young adult space where there's still

some growing up happening.

Um, well, hey, let's face it, we've all still got growing

up happening, haven't we?

Um, it's just maybe you get older, you're more aware of it, but,

um, and she has just, just to.

To see your faithfulness, your diligence, your love for the community,

uh, your commitment to Jesus.

And you know, it has not always been easy, but you have just done such

a brilliant job of building this culture and of being life and light

and love, uh, within that community.

We are so proud of you.

Uh, and so.

Who is stepping into Summer's shoes?

I, no, just kidding.

Um,

Joel and Imogen, can you come on up please?

So

this is how we're appointing leadership roles now at Red Door.

We're just randomly picking people on a Sunday.

Super fun.

It's called Prophetic.

No, just kidding.

Um, come on up.

So Joel and Imogen.

Woohoo.

Yes.

We're super excited to announce these guys to you this morning.

Um, we've been in an ongoing conversation with Joel and Imogen for

quite a few years around this space.

'cause they've, they've got such a heart for the young adults

community and, um, and it's just.

As the Lord does, the timing is right just as they've had a baby.

Perfect timing to begin to lead a ministry area seen as This is Uriah.

Everyone, just in case you haven't met her and she is adorable and, uh, so.

So these guys are stepping in.

They'll be at camp this coming weekend.

We're currently at 45 and Imogen is gunning for 50.

So if you're a young adult and you haven't signed up for camp,

make her dreams come true.

Like bless her in her first, you know, foray into the

official world of young adults.

And so we're gonna pray for these guys and, um.

Yeah, and we're gonna do this again at the PM and, uh, we're having

a celebration dinner to farewell our beautiful summer as well.

Um, all right, let's pray.

Father, we wanna thank you for this, uh, special moment.

Um, in any time of transition in life, it's important to bless and Lord, as

we lay hands today, we bless Joel and Imogen and the Smith family today.

God, that as we lay hands, holy Spirit, come and fan into

flame, the gift that is within.

That it would cause them not to shrink back, but to step into a

new place of authority and a sense of confidence knowing that you are

leading them as they lead others.

Father, thank you.

That who you call, you equip.

And Lord, thank you for your equipping work in them.

Uh, father, we commission them today that they would see your kingdom come, your

will be done through and in their lives.

Into our young adult community.

Father, thank you for a season ahead of, of discipleship and growth.

Father, that you would be the one authoring that in the hearts and

minds of our young adult community.

Lord, we bless Joel and Imogen today and our whole red Dorf family said behind

them, supporting them, and said a amen.

Um, just wanna, because maybe you don't all know Jo and Image and, and, um, I just

wanted to give them opportunity just to share for a few minutes on what their,

what is on their hearts for our young adults community coming into this year.

Hello everybody.

I, I'm Joel Imogen and Aria.

She's 10 weeks this weekend.

Um, first of all, yeah, we're super honored and grateful

that you trust us with this.

Um, so thank you very much, and Summer over three years has

done such an incredible job.

Um.

She's served very diligently, um, by herself.

We've got three of us, so hopefully that that helps us a little bit.

Um, but yeah, we've got over 40 people signed up for camp, uh, this coming week.

So, um, that's a testament to summer's, uh, leadership.

She's done a very good job there.

Um.

But for us, I mean, yeah, for a year, year, a year and a half now, we've been

kind of, uh, it's been weighing on our heart that there's been more for us.

Um, what, what's next?

Um, we've been, we've really enjoyed our house church and we'll continue

to, um, love our house church.

And do house church, but we're just like that.

We felt like there was more and then came, um.

But then, yeah, we got asked to do, to take on this and we were just like, we

just felt like it was the right time.

Um, that although we feel like it's, there's a lot going on at the moment

for us, we we're gonna put in God's hands because it just feels so right.

Um, we, we.

Can't wait to, uh, build relationships with young adults.

Um, we love to encourage relationships, first relationship with our Lord and

Savior, and then second relationships with each other, our church community,

our, our young adults community.

Um, yeah, we do, we're so excited to see what God's gonna do because we

know God's hand is very much on this.

Um, yeah.

Yes, it's me.

Five minutes.

Here we go.

So, uh, we had a compassion trip just gone.

Just wanna give you a quick little update on our trip to compassion.

We have five people from Red Door when we had two from

Canberra, two from Queensland.

About three others from sort of, uh, Metro Perth area.

Um, dunno if you know much about Thailand, but I've got a

map to show you where we went.

We landed in Chang Mai and then got on a bus and basically went all the way down

to Bangkok stopping along the border.

That's, can you see the border between me and Thailand?

Can you see that?

Um.

Did you know 71 million people live in Thailand?

71 million And the work compassion's doing, um, they are sponsoring

over 50,000 children in Thailand.

Um, how do you change a nation?

You go.

To change the spiritual temperature of the children in a nation.

Sorry, adults.

You're too old.

Um, uh, on the way, which you can kind of see, see that little dink dink at

the first little leg says oco OCO is very close to, um, a church where Red

Door helped facilitate their opening.

The church is called aum.

I was there seven years ago and I just wanted to give you a quick

report, uh, of what's happening there.

I think I've got a picture of.

Something relating to a tomb.

The next, what's the next picture?

Oh, we got to meet our sponsor child.

That's me and the sponsor child.

Um, uh, we played, uh, Jenga, which was very good.

Next slide.

This is the community at Aomb Church and mainly the Compassion Kids.

Um, one of the most spectacular things about Aomb Church is it's perched

on top of this kind of mountaintop.

It's the most amazing location.

The pastor's in the bottom right.

Side corner.

Um, he's doing an amazing job.

I met him seven years ago, so he is still kicking goals for the kingdom there.

Um, quick picture of Summer Hughes.

Yeah, because, yeah, so that's the Karen uniform.

We gotta, you know, that's the shirt we all wear.

Uh, the reason why I'm showing you summer is not just because she's

wearing pink, but because of the view.

Can you see the view?

It's just amazing.

Thank you, summer for showing me the view.

Um, and the guy that I'm hugging there, uh, he's the, he's like a pastor, but

he's the, he's the compassion project coordinator, uh, in that same location.

Uh, he's doing a tremendous job there.

So much so that they've got 568 kids sponsored there now.

Um, just seeing salvation after salvation, uh, within that church, but also.

The place is so mountainous that it's very difficult for the

children's to come to this location.

So they have little, what they call units that are kind of dotted around

the villages, uh, in their, in the area.

And that's kind of, that's kinda like the central hub.

Um, I don't have a picture of the church.

Sorry, I. I didn't do that, but anyway.

Um, so lots of salvation's happening, which is amazing.

Um, quick little story.

Um, next picture.

Yeah, this is it.

This was at another place now.

So we're now on the border of, uh, Thailand and Myanmar.

Very tumultuous kinda location.

I dunno if you know much about it, but essentially if you are, um,

Thailand, if you're a Thai or you're a.

Or Thai Karin, you're not allowed to go to Myanmar, but the Myanmar people

were allowed to come into Thailand, but after the, they've gotta get back by

the time the day ends kind of thing.

Um.

So there's a lot of tension in the air, um, in the terms of

the two nations and so forth.

Um, and there's a lot of poverty along the nation.

Um, people who in uh, Myanmar, they actually say, no, we

wanna stay in Thailand.

They get put in a refugee camp and there's a multiple refugee

camps along that border.

Um, some of them up to a population of 50,000 people just in one

refugee camp with a, you know, they're living with a tarp.

And that's pretty much it, you know, that's kind of their experience.

So this was a village close to the border.

Just a quick story.

We were visiting the house.

You can see the roof of the house behind it.

We were visiting, they're a compassion family and we were visiting there.

We'd finished the visit and I started walking back up this road.

And um, it was interesting 'cause I had my little camera and as I

walked outta the house, it was a cool strip in the other direction.

That was very sort of, you know, captured the sort of the, the

look of the, the, the village.

And I'm starting to record and realize there were these

people walking towards us.

And then I realized there was this lady walking, actually, I thought

she was a boy to begin with.

Um, but she had a really bad limp and her hand was kind of very.

Um, sort of bent up and outta shape deformed in a sense.

And, um, I felt bad 'cause I was videoing it as she was walking towards me and I

was like, oh, that's not appropriate.

So I put my camera away and.

I sort of turned away to kind of walk back towards the church where we

were sort of based at, which is kind of, sort of towards us in this shot.

And all of a sudden I was just overcome with emotion.

Like I was really, I was crying, I was upset, uh, I saw her walking

and I, I saw parts of that in my own journey in terms of, um, my son.

And just, just my heart went out to her.

And I can't explain why or anything that happened.

All I knew is I had money in my pocket and I had to bless her.

There's some interesting financial policies and compassion around what

you do with money and how you bless.

So I went up to a compassion person here.

She was an excellent translator.

Uh, so was talking with her during the day and said to her, listen,

um, firstly, do you think it's appropriate if I just bless this lady?

Um, she's disconnected from compassion in a sense.

And do you reckon you could, um, help me pray for her?

She says yes and yes.

Let's go.

So off we went and, okay.

Trying to explain this to you.

So I was talking to the, the translator.

I turned back and I gave my quite distant attention to this lady.

And I've never seen a person respond so quickly just because

I gave attention to her.

She literally ran towards me like I've never.

The impression I was getting in that moment was this lady is a,

she's an outcast in this community.

No one gives her attention, and here's Mr. White boy, you know, giving her attention.

And all of a sudden her eyes became illuminated.

I didn't see her deformity anymore.

I just saw this lady who needed to be loved.

Oh man, I'm just getting emotional just thinking about it.

So I, I hadn't even given her anything.

I just gave her my attention.

She, she starts hugging me and I could tell she hadn't had a shower for a while

and, you know, and she's carrying a bag of like, you know, cans or whatever she's

got trying to sort of earn her money.

So anyway, I, I put my hand in my pocket.

That's all I did.

And there she's like kissing my arm and I'm like, well this

lady, this lady needs a hug.

And if you know Adam, you know, I just hug anyone on two legs.

So I'm giving her a hug and she leans in and she's like kissing my cheek.

I'm like, oh, okay.

Maybe this is inappropriate.

Um, so I kind of did the, here's the money, I wanna bless you and.

I kinda went to turn back to the translator.

I, we were just talking, I think I was saying, oh, I see you.

I want you to know the Lord sees you.

I was kind of, sort of in that narrative just with her.

And then, um, I went to the, the lady, the, the translator

to say, oh, can we pray for her?

And as I said, can we, you could see she was already wanting.

Prayer, like she was positioning herself.

So I'm like, well, this is very easy.

It's all happening.

And uh, so I prayed for her.

I blessed her, and now she's kind of crying and it was

all very super emotional.

I'd love to tell you like she was healed on the spot.

God's able, by the way, but.

Yeah, I just came away from that moment seeing this lady a different countenance

on her than when I saw her first to begin with, and it's because someone saw her and

because I then, if you're connecting that to the Lord sees you amazing, amazing.

Anyway, that's my picture.

Oh.

So I went down the village and had a haircut.

This is a 15-year-old compassion child cutting my hair in the middle of nowhere.

Fantastic story.

He's only got one haircut.

It's called the Asian Bowl cut, as you can see right there.

Actually, I'm still doning it.

I think it was a bit, it was a bit longer on top.

So I really had the emphasis of the bowl, you know?

So I said, can you just do like a number three all over the top of it?

And he goes, yep.

And then suddenly the bowl was less emphasized, looking like a Chinese man.

Not that there's much here there, but obviously we can enjoy that.

Oh, good morning.

I feel a bit overdressed this morning.

I've got a suit on.

All the men here got t-shirts.

The reason I'm dressed up is 'cause this afternoon one of

our daughters is graduating.

She's got a master's now, so we better make her, make her look good.

Yeah, I'm pleased with her.

And she's also student of the year for 2025, so it's a whole lot of

stuff and I think it's called the Chancellor's Club or something.

Whatever it says, she's got a great place, but not that I've got a master's,

but any of you out there who has got a master's, you know, that's only when

the learning begins it's life where you're gonna learn what your subject is.

There's something that Adam just said before struck my heart about

we're gonna talk about today, is that there are couples here.

You like the woman, you don't feel seen or heard in your marriage.

God's got good news for you today.

Where do you find discipleship?

Is it a course that you do for a few weeks or is it a lifetime of making

choices if you're a husband or wife or you're dating or you are grandparents,

you are already discipling each other, so how are you having impact?

On your family and your friends, imagine a conversation

where you feel listened to and not corrected.

Does that feel like love my own marriage?

We've been married 34 years now, but by 15th year, I thought, I

know her opinion on everything.

Uh, we compete on our Bible knowledge, and I just wondered why we didn't

talk anymore and Carolyn felt bullied.

'cause I loved a bit of a dialogue and sharpening.

I reckon it's this script instead.

And she, she gave up because I wanted to win.

I didn't wanna listen.

I wasn't a very good listener and that's something that took

me a long time in marriage to do.

That's how it's developed to discipleship series.

This is how we connect and not correct.

This is how we listen.

Jesus loved to tell stories and I bet you have one too.

Once you've done that, you can then start to feel more safe to talk to each other.

Where's your future?

Where's your purpose?

Alright, so for our next installment this morning, ah, do you wanna come up?

All right, so i's going to share a bit this morning and, uh, why?

Uh, well, because there's never a dull moment with Arm and, um, so there's been a

lot going on in ahs well with his ministry and he's gonna tell you a bit about that.

And he's got some exciting news and, um, that I just really thought our

church family should be aware of.

Um, 'cause I think it's profoundly encouraging and good.

And Amit, before we kick off, I do just wanna say just how much I appreciate you.

We appreciate you, you are your kingdom mindedness, and I've been

reflecting a lot on humility lately.

And you, for me, are a person who models Christ-like humility.

We can get messed up with understanding, humility, and we can kind of cover

up all sorts of pride with a label of humility and all sorts of self-protection

mechanisms and fear as humility.

But Armit is a genuinely humble servant of Jesus Christ.

And it's, and he's bold and he's just so, um, just willing to listen and.

All this dynamic stuff is happening, yet he's just so genuinely humble and I so

profoundly appreciate that about you.

And we love just getting to be a part of what God is doing in and through you and

your beautiful family over there as well.

'cause they are very much a family on mission.

Amen.

How good's this morning been?

It's like a family living room.

Eh, so Well I'm just gonna, I'm just gonna do this and just take the shoes off.

Join me as we pray.

Father, I just wanna thank you for this time.

Ah, Lord Jesus Christ, we lifted up in all that is being shared today.

Our desire as a red door family here is to lift up only your name.

So Holy Spirit, as we, uh, continue in this, uh, form of celebration

this morning, all glory to you.

We just long to see you move.

Father, I pray that, um, whatever it is that I'm about to share now,

if there is, um, any correction that needs to be brought, if I'm, uh,

off the mark in anything, um, then I pray that you would bring brothers

and sisters around me to sharpen me.

I pray that those words that are are not of you would, uh, not settle

anywhere, but they would quickly be gone.

But father, whatever is of you, may that be planted deep within us.

Deep within us, and may the result be kingdom transformation.

In Jesus' name we pray.

Amen.

So Dale sent me some questions and gave me some time.

I'm gonna do my best to work it through and if you want to continue the

But I'm just gonna go through this like bit of rapid fire.

So the first thing is, uh, yeah, ministry update.

Um, so question was, ah, what is it that you do?

And so, um, this is probably the focus right here.

Um, my wife Sky and then Caria Dee Nate and, and Little Maya.

Um, can I just ask that you, as you think of us as a family, can you please

continue to pray for us and pray with us?

There is nothing that we can do, uh, without the covering

and the foundation of prayer.

Nothing.

Um, otherwise we are setting ourselves up for a whole lot of trouble and

that's not what we signed up for.

We only want to do the work of the kingdom and we need to do

that as family grounded in prayer.

So please, um, Carly's about to start first year uni, um, Deshaun's in year 10.

And Nate's kicking goals in year nine, May's, final year of primary school.

And Sky and I chill still trying to figure out how to be good husbands and

wives to each other and parent well.

So just continue to, to pray for us as a family.

So that's the first thing that I would say.

Um, secondly, in regards to some of the work that we've been called

to, I just wanna link back to something Adam just mentioned.

I don't, do you, do you remember the lady's name that you met?

Do you, did you get her name at all?

Okay, we'll just call her Trish.

Uh, so it's a, it's a very, uh, Karen name.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Trish.

Trish, I don't know the accent.

Um, so, uh, Trish is no less called than you or I,

no less called.

So as I'm about to share some of the stuff that God's called us to, the last

thing that I want is you thinking this is like a brag book session and oh, Amit

might have given up social media, but this is his Facebook post this morning.

This is not the case.

Each one of you, um, needs to understand that you are also called,

we are all on the same mission.

And that is to build his kingdom and his kingdom alone.

So I get the microphone for a few moments this morning to share with

you what our part of that picture is, but each of you have a very

important part to play as well.

Please don't, um, interpret what's happening here this morning at Red

Door as certain roles and things are more important than others.

Don't walk away with that 'cause that is not correct.

It is not biblical and that is not our heart.

Have I made myself clear?

Very.

Okay.

Very good.

So we'll go to the next one.

Um, so what is it that we're actually doing?

Uh, we've set up this entity.

We praise the Lord, got our DGR status with the A CNC.

Um, and so we've got a board together.

Uh, we meet regularly.

Uh, but essentially I'll summarize it in this way.

When we have the privilege of working with faced a faith-based community,

specifically youth and young adults, um, our desire is to see them mobilized.

We are not here to entertain them.

Can't be bothered.

Just go and watch Netflix.

But there's more to life than Netflix.

So what we wanna be doing is seeing these, this generation, um, the way I put, I

would put it is this, that we wanna lead a rebellion against low expectations.

They are capable of so much more.

Um, if only we would step aside and pass them the microphone maybe.

And so when we work with faith-based communities, we're

all about mobilize and activate.

When we are working with non-faith based communities, we are looking

at creative ways to get the gospel infused into their lives.

And we can't always do it like this with a microphone and stand up and,

uh, uh, believe me when I say we don't always get those opportunities,

but as we rub shoulders together, as we work together on different

things, opportunities are plentiful.

Are we ready to take them though?

Yeah.

So that's essentially in a nutshell what we get to do.

We can go to the next slide.

Um, so Dale also said, Hey, so can you just share a little bit of what

you've been up to over the last year?

So I've broken it down into local and global 'cause that

is the nature of our work.

So here are some of the local projects that we've been involved with.

Uh, for the sake of time, I'm not gonna go through each one by themselves, but

I just do wanna highlight a couple.

The first one is on the top left there, which says student net.

Um, we have the privilege, when I say we, there's a whole group of us, about

seven different families that are working specifically, uh, with young

people, primary, secondary school, and tertiary ages who are committed to

seeing their educational campuses, uh, resemble the kingdom more than the world.

So these kids, these children, they're leading alpha groups

during recess and lunchtimes.

Wow.

They are.

I, I met, I met a crew, uh, just this past week who spent one day, every single

week of the school holidays just gone year 10 boys prayer, walking their school

campus all through the summer holidays because they're expecting God to move.

This year, met another group, uh, just this past week, uh, 45

year nine students at this school just gave their lives to Christ.

One of the teachers gave an altar call during a has lesson.

Come on, if you guys, there's stuff happening, so you can either get

involved or just sit there bored.

It's up to you.

Um, but we are focused on seeing this net established to see a beautiful

harvest brought in for King Jesus.

And you know, who's leading this net?

It's the young ones.

Oh, I could keep going on with some testimony, but I only got 20 minutes,

so if you wanna talk some more, come and see me after I can share some stuff.

Um, health departments, many of you would know, I've had the

privilege over the last 18 months of working, uh, for the WA Health

Department as a pastoral care worker.

Um, how good is this?

I finished up in December, but just before we were able to finish up and

we were able to get in and establish a media on demand channel starting at

Fiona Stanley, but it will go across all of South Metro Health in the next 12

to 18 months where every single patient now has access to watch the chosen.

Yeah.

Yeah.

So through our charity, I've been working with Dallas and the guys

over in the US and we've actually got a, a license for the chosen first

charity to get that in Australia.

Like, who are you guys?

Like you don't need to know.

We're brothers and sisters and the Lord.

That's all you need to know.

So we're just little, little group here in Perth, just having a crack.

And uh, here we go.

Someone, yeah.

Will have a crack church if you haven't picked that up, folks.

Uh, that that's however re known.

So yeah, we've got this, the chosen in there, um, that'll be screening.

We were able to get established, um, every single day.

Um, actually one of our other brothers, Paul Morrison, um, him and I got together.

He does really good music if you haven't listened to his stuff.

Um, but he also writes really well.

So we actually put together like a monthly cyclical like chapel devotional thing.

And, uh, and every single day, Monday to Friday from 12 till 1215,

there's a process that gets repeated every month, but then that chapel

reading and prayer gets telecast to all 810 beds through the hospital.

Yeah, it's really good.

And then we also got sunshine now beaming into every single, um, hospital room.

Yeah.

You know, just.

For fun.

And, uh, there's lots of other stuff going on.

But folks, again, just wherever God place you, just do what he wants you to

and don't be surprised by what unfolds.

Just get excited about it.

Enjoy the ride.

It's so good.

Um, and then this other one that I'll just share.

There's so much good stuff there, eh?

Um, oh, so no, I'm not gonna do that.

No.

Uh, redeem art project, the one with the red line under it.

At the beginning of last year, we managed to get some

funding to run a pilot program.

I'm really passionate about working with at-risk students, so, uh, I can define

that for you another time if you like, but essentially those that really struggle

in schools don't really wanna be there.

Uh, I love working with those kids in particular and sometimes to sit down and

play Uno, uno, however you say it, or do some Lego or go and shoot some hoops.

It may not be the best way to engage them, but often art can.

Now I'm, uh, I've gotta be careful.

I'm not an artist.

I'm not, I struggle with stick figures, ask my kids.

But I love art.

Art is its own language.

Many people connect with art in very interesting ways.

Anyway, we, through our charity, put together a series of

workshops that utilize urban art to engage at risk students.

These workshops that we're running, um, help students to articulate their

pain, suffering, and brokenness in ways that they may not otherwise be able to.

Because we believe that one of the greatest pains a person experiences is

a story in here that remains untold.

So we want to give them tools to be able to tell their story.

And so we were able to go through, if you go to the next slide,

here's, so this is what we did.

Um, we run through the series of workshops.

Um, and that's a, that's a two story stairwell just to give

you a size of, uh, scale there.

But essentially we take the students' narrative that we work

through, through the workshops of pain, suffering, and brokenness.

As we're having conversation with them, painting and creating, and molding and

drawing, we're infusing the hope of the gospel into these relationships, and then

as a result, we create a mural to put up at that school so the entire community

can be brought into deeper relationship.

So this was the first school that we did.

We're hoping to do a whole lot more.

Um, but there's some really exciting things that are coming as

a result of that quick testimony.

One of the girls that was in our pilot program, this is our Austin Cove Baptist

College, really, really struggling through year nine and 10, uh, with

absenteeism because of self-harming.

Uh, we worked through this.

She's in year 11, uh, last year, and then connected really

well with this young lady.

Uh, and then there was a bit of time passed and just in the role

of the hospital that God had placed me in, uh, several months after we

finished this pilot project, um, she got admitted in to the mental health

ward, uh, for some pretty dark stuff.

And so the nurses were like, Hey, there's this young girl that's just come through.

No one can get through to her.

Can you just come and have a chat and see if you can break in?

I'm like, yeah, sure.

So I go and then we lock eyes and we're just like, Hey, I know you.

She started crying straight away 'cause she felt safe and she felt seen.

Don't underestimate the power of that, folks.

Don't underestimate it.

So, I don't know what has ended up transpiring.

Um, but this project, uh, created a space for relationship to be

built for young people to be seen.

So even in their darkest moments, they knew where to reach out to for help.

And it was just an agent of Jesus that they reached out to.

Come on, we can do this.

Okay.

So that's some of the local stuff.

Uh, in regards to some of the global work, uh, there's a, a, a wide

variety of things that are going on.

So, um, I'm hoping not to.

I've asked the board to keep me accountable to this.

Uh, last year was like a crazy year.

Um, I was away for, uh, nine of the 12 months with different things that were

going on, and, uh, there's just been some amazing things that have been unfolding.

As a result, I found myself in like Albania.

Um, I was working with the government in Papua New Guinea.

Like I, I don't know how these things unfold.

We just keep saying yes to Jesus and he puts us in these spaces, but there's

some amazing things that are unfolding.

Amazing things are unfolding.

And um, one of the big projects that we've been working on, uh, my dear brother Steve

and I, this thing called Cities of Hope.

So through last year, we were able to get to 13 different cities across Asia.

And the idea is we gather people across generations, male and female, local

pastors, not local church workers.

We sit 'em around a table together and we want to learn from each other.

What has God been doing in this city?

What is he currently doing in this city?

Where do you, as a body of Christ sense he's leading you in this city?

'cause here's the motivation.

Um, a couple of years back I was in Dallas Baptist University engaging

some meetings there with leaders from across 11 different global regions.

And one of the things they asked us to do from each global region was bring your

strength, your weakness, and your prayer.

So as the 11 global regions shared, I was sitting down there, Steve was

there with me, and I was just writing down the strength, the weakness, and

the prayer from each global region.

Um, any kid, primary school kids in the room, they might be in kids church, but

you know those exercises you do where you do like the lines where you match

like the word with the definition, do you remember those ones in school?

So I essentially did that grid work for these 11 global regions when

they articulated their weakness.

I put 'em all down one side and the global, uh, regional name, and on

the right hand side, as the different regions articulated their strengths.

I also wrote that down.

And lo and behold, you could match 'em all together.

The problem is solved because God's given us everything we need with each other.

So I'm sitting there looking at this and I'm like, bro, look at it Steve.

Man, check this out.

He's like, oh, it's really good.

It's really good.

And it's like, yeah, it is really good.

We've got everything we need here.

If only we would be humble enough.

Yes, to listen to each other and to not pretend that we have all the answers.

So the idea of this particular project, cities of Hope, is that

we believe that God has given every city unique keys to his kingdom.

And maybe the keys that are in Dubai could unlock doors in Perth.

If only we'll be humble enough to sit, to listen and then to receive, but also to

be humble enough to share what we carry.

'cause it's not ours, it's ours.

So, uh, there's opportunity to, to do more of this.

Uh, there's all sorts of limitations, but we're trusting

God's gonna continue to lead.

If you wanna scan those QR codes, the top one, uh, will give you an

understanding of some of the insights that we're able to glean from these

conversations and what we are then making available for the broader church.

And then the, the QR code underneath will take you to a, a condensed version.

We record these table conversations.

We do the long form, uh, we do a condensed, like 15 minute version

with all the gold in there.

And then we create these documents that outline the, the keys, the hopes,

and the repentances of each city, and then we send that out to the global

church so we can learn from each other.

There's no brand that's funding this.

There's no organization that's over this.

There's just two brothers being held accountable by the leadership team of

this church being sent out on mission.

So this is part of your story as well.

Um, I've been asked to go in May to Azerbaijan at the UN World Urban

Forum to talk about this and two other projects that we are doing, who knows

why, but we'll go if we can and then we will see what the father does.

What's on the radar for 2026?

Uh, if any of you wanna find out more in regards to how you could, uh, be

a part of this, uh, in a bit more of an in, in, uh, on an intentional way.

There's three projects that we are really looking forward this year to instilling

more into the rhythm of our regular work.

And that is that student.

Now we wanna see more students across schools in wa mobilized for his kingdom.

What is happening?

It, it's not unbelievable and it's not unreal.

It is awesome, but you just have to sit there and listen to these

students and get their heart for this.

One of these other groups.

They, they, this school, I can't believe what's going on.

No, but I can,

they meet on campus, a group of kids three times a week before school.

They get their parents to drop 'em off at six 30.

One day a week, they're praying in all the toilets because there's too

much vaping going on, and they're praying that their peers, when they go

to the toilet cubicles to do naughty things, would meet the risen Jesus.

Instead, they pray over the toilets at their school one morning a week.

The second morning they go to all the different staff members' offices,

lay their hands on the doors and pray for all their staff members.

It's, it's amazing.

These kids are amazing.

And then the third morning they just meet on their campus somewhere and pre

walk their school before school starts.

14-year-old boys and girls, 15-year-old boys and girls,

16-year-old boys and girls.

Oh, get around it folks.

It's so good.

So we wanna see more of that happening, the things that we

can do to support them more.

That redeem art project.

Um, through our dear friends at classic contractors, we were able to get a

sponsorship with ux, which they have agreed to su supply paint for seven

different school murals to go up.

That's a lot of money.

Yes, we wanna use it all.

So, um, pray that old doors open up for that.

And then in regards to cities of hope, the invitations from the cities continue

to come in and, um, we want to just continue to serve this however we can.

We'll go to the next slide.

Ah, yeah.

Uh, so the other thing that I've worked on through the back end of last

year, I'm about to release my first book, uh, yeah, A bit of funsies.

Uh, who would've thought?

Uh, so it's a very quick read.

It's not long, but the idea here is in the work that I was doing in the hospitals

and as I go around broader community, there's been a lot of talk around this new

legislation the government has put through about the under 16 social media ban.

Um, and let me speak very candidly here this morning.

As much as it's targeting, uh, students that are 16 and under, there's also a

recognition from the government that the digital spaces are forming our

young people in ways that they didn't anticipate and what have we done?

And so this book is not a commentary on whether the legislation is right or wrong.

Happy to have that conversation, but I'm not putting it in writing.

What I've done through this book is I've tried to, I'm addressing a specific,

broader non-Christian audience.

Our charity is registered as a health promotion charity, so

we're promoting good health in the digital space through this book.

But the idea here is I've, I've tried to pick on three gospel themes and

written about them in non preachy ways.

Here's the first one.

Peace restores us.

It's biblical, right?

Yeah.

Uh, the image that motivated me for that particular phrasing in

this book was the story in Mark four with Jesus on the water.

The disciples didn't do anything to activate the stealing of the storm.

They just drew closer to the one who could steady the waters.

So how do you do that to a non-faith based audience?

Yeah, we've had a crack.

Uh, second thing that I've tried to bring through in this book, um,

is that a belonging anchors us.

So the, the motivation in this is that actually before we, uh,

believe a certain thing or behave in a certain way, we belong.

It's about our identity in Christ.

So I'm trying in, uh, in non-biblical and non-Christian east ways to, to lift up the

lid on that and to open that conversation.

And then the third element is in regards to community and

how community sustains us.

Uh, and the, the tagline that I've put, I think it's in chapter seven,

is that we don't need self care.

We need shared care.

We've gotta be in this together.

So these are all things that you and I will be like, that

sounds a lot like Jesus.

It's because it's based on him, folks.

But I'm trying to write things in a way that can engage those who

would not necessarily give time to Jesus in any other setting.

Um, praise the Lord.

I had a conversation with the head of innovation for South

Metro Health over this past week.

Not only has she given an endorsement for the book that she wants to have

in there before it goes to print, but she's saying that every single clinician

across Australia needs to get a book because there's principles in here

that sort of capture the studies behind the why and actually raise this as

a, we need to pay attention to this.

I don't know what's gonna come of this folks, but I

felt led to put this together.

Um, we did.

Let's just see what happens, but it would just appreciate your prayers.

that's unfolded here over the past year, what would you wanna share with

your family here at, at Red Door?

I'm just gonna quote from the Dre, it was so good when you brought

the Old Testament in this morning.

'cause I'm, I'm, I'm taking us back to Haggai.

Come on, this old prophet,

have a listen to this folks.

Now this is what the Lord Almighty says.

Give careful thought to your ways.

You have planted much, but harvested little.

You eat.

But you never have enough.

You drink, but you never have your fill.

You put on clothes,

but you're not warm.

You earn wages only to put them into a purse with holes all through it.

This is what the Lord Almighty says.

Give careful thought to your ways.

Go up into the mountains, bring down the timber, and build my house

so that I may take pleasure in it and be honored, says the Lord.

You expected much, but see, it turned out to be little.

When you brought home, I blew away.

Why?

Declares the Lord Almighty, because of my house, which still remains a ruin while

each of you is busy with your own houses.

So here is my encouragement to you, church.

My Jesus.

Our Jesus did not go to the cross for you and I to be comfortable in our existence.

He did not promise you, uh, a certain postcode.

A certain vehicle, a certain status in society and a certain

comfort level in life between now and when he calls us home.

None of that has been promised.

So much of that is what we seek though, and it's almost like the

father's wanting to remind us.

As I've traveled out through all sorts of places across the globe,

um, it is time for the body to wake up to the cause of his kingdom.

All the nations are a reward for King Jesus.

They don't belong to you and I. Yes.

This is not our church.

There's only one church in this city.

There's only one church in this nation.

There's only one church across the globe.

So everywhere Steve and I and others traveled to, we are amongst family.

What's ours is theirs.

What's theirs is ours.

This is how we must move forward.

We've gotta stop trying to build our own backyards.

It's gotta stop enough already.

When you're out there, wherever God is placed, you could remember every

single one of you is no less called than anyone else, and you are all

given assignments for the kingdom.

Some of you're builders, some of you're full-time parents, some of you're lawyers

and doctors and engineers or teachers, others of you are cleaners, car detailers.

I don't care what it is.

You are an assignment for the king.

Right.

So as you walk into every single day, how alert are you to the

needs that are around you?

And how ready are you to step into that with the love and the grace and the

mercy and the light of our living Jesus?

Because if you're not prepared for that every single day, you are

just about building your own house.

And the prophet from the Old Testament says Enough already.

So that's my encouragement for you this morning.

Please fix your eyes on Christ.

and he kind of already said them all.

It's a shame, but I, I felt like I wanted you to just know part

of the heart of doing some things like this today is for you, uh, to,

uh, like lift and look to a larger dynamic that's happening around you.

Uh, there's more opportunities around you to minister.

In your own special way, in unique context than you first thought.

Um, and so like where was the Bible teaching today, Adam?

Well, what have we decided to do today was the role of the church is to equip

the saints for the work of ministry.

So equipping is not just, uh, this is how you use a hammer.

Um, it's also a. Motivation to pick up the hammer.

Does that make sense?

So hopefully there's some vision in the atmosphere today that would cause your

heart to ask the question and pray to God, Lord, is there more for me to engage with?

Um, is there more in this city going on?

Um, so today we've heard from Steve, we've heard from Ahmed's family.

We've heard bit a little bit from Thailand and so to close this morning

I wanted to do this is I want Ahmed's family to stand just where you are.

Uh, I want Steve and Carol and visitor stand where you are, if that's okay.

Um, I want those who have just come back from Thailand to stand.

So Sue and Levi, uh, I'm standing.

recognize we are not here to consume.

We are here to catch the vision of the kingdom.

And ask you the question, how do I participate in it?

Father, for those of us who are compelled by passion and vision, God, I pray

you with Holy Spirit, come and just stir that afresh, stir that afresh.

None of us need to be doing exactly the same thing, but together we

thank you that we are here not just to build Little Red Door Church.

We are here to see the kingdom of God penetrate in this city you have.

Placed us in.

Lord, we bless Western Australia today.

We blessed it as our foot tread in every single different context.

God, that the kingdom of God would break through with power and your

presence in a way that would call 2026.

This is unprecedented.

We haven't seen this before.

All because we said, Lord, we are yours.

Use us, send us, compel us, open our eyes to the needs around us.

And God help us to have courage to step into uncomfortable situations so others

would seen Father bless us, equip us as we go today in Jesus' mighty name.

And everybody said, amen.
