A Calling Of A Nation | Part Two

There were two little boys watching Mum make cookies.

You remember that scene in your own personal life?

They were watching Mom make the cookies.

And they were anxious to get a cookie off that tray, the first one out of the oven.

And so they both had plates in hands, and they were kind of moving closer and closer and closer to Mom, wanting to be the first one to get that cookie.

I think many of us have had sibling challenges like that before.

Mom thought, well, I'm going to teach the children something about Jesus.

And she thought, this is a good learning moment, good spiritual moment.

Looked at the boys and said, you know what?

If Jesus was your brother, then he would say, You go first and have the first cookie.

That sounds like a good spiritual point, right?

And one little boy looked at the other boy and he said, You be Jesus.

You be Jesus.

Well, this morning, to some degree, the challenge of our faith is who's going to be Jesus?

How many of you know there's a significant challenge to being Jesus in our culture?

We're living in a culture that is God-denying and is becoming less and less righteous and less and less Christian.

And so as we look at Canada today and we say, are you going to be Jesus?

Are you willing to actually stand up and be Jesus in an environment that is counter-Jesus?

That's what I want to talk to you about this morning.

As we read this portion of Scripture, we're not intending on running to the hills.

We're intending on running into the arms of God, right?

Last week, Pastor Brody brought a message during our celebration of Canada Day.

He shared that the Canadian story is built on a Christian foundation.

You knew that.

Solid Christian foundation.

And he alluded to the scriptures that are inscribed in the Peace Tower in Ottawa's Parliament buildings.

Parliament buildings I had a chance to see just a few weeks ago.

On the east window, you'll see over the window, he shall have dominion from sea to sea.

And I have a picture of that one window out of Psalm 72, 8.

On the south window, you'll see, give the king thy judgments, O God, and thy righteousness unto thy king's son.

Meaning, God, don't check out from our nation and don't check out from giving us wisdom in the top tiers of leadership, we need help.

On the west window, you read, where there's no vision, the people perish, from Proverbs 29, 18.

What you may not know is that when the Confederation Fathers were actually meeting together thinking about Canada and trying to define what Canada should become, they actually had some prayer meetings and devotions.

And they were reading the Bible.

And when they came to the table and established Canada, they were, it was very, very important to them that the Canadian, the foundations of Canada be rooted in the biblical foundations.

When I was in uh Ottawa a few weeks ago, the prayer tower itself that has these inscriptions on it is actually under construction.

And you see in a huge amount of work that's being done in terms of that construction, the challenge that many people are feeling these days is whether or not the historical inscriptions that I just read to you from biblical foundations are going to be sandblasted out of that peace tower or whether they'll remain.

That to me, actually, that reconstruction that's going on in the Peace Tower is a prophetic view to me into what is happening in Canada today.

There is a general reconstruction of the foundations of our nation.

Will those scriptures be sandblasted out of our history?

Or will they remain as a memory to our hearts saying, listen, you have biblical foundations.

The word dominion was chosen as a word to describe this nation right from the scripture.

Not a republic, not a nation, not a country, it was not a state.

It was defined to be a dominion, meaning to be under the authority of God from C to C.

So when I start looking at Canada, I want you to understand the glasses that I wear.

And I want us to look really quickly at that this morning.

Because there are principles that establish what I would call a biblical worldview when you look at our nation.

Number one, I want you to know that God establishes the destiny of nations.

God establishes the destiny of nations.

Just as you had a birth and you were chosen in Christ before the foundations of the world, Canada was chosen in God before the foundations of the world.

You were born of God in his heart before you were ever born.

And so was the nation of Canada, born in the heart of God before it was ever established.

The Bible says, who has prepared and done this?

From Isaiah 41, 4, calling forth and guiding the destinies of the generations of the nations from the beginning.

And God says, I, the Lord, the first existing before history began, and with the last and ever-present, unchanging God, I'm the one who has established its destiny.

When we look at Canada's beginnings, we see the presence of prayerful people who opened the Bible and began to think we want to establish our nation on biblical foundations and establish the dominion of Canada.

Secondly, God establishes the borders of the nations of the world.

Did you know that?

He's interested in establishing the borders.

The Bible says in Acts chapter 17, 26, and Paul writes this, he said, God is made from one common origin, one source, one blood, all nations of men to settle on the face of the earth, having definitely determined their allotted periods of time and the fixed boundaries of their habitation, their settlements, their lands and abodes.

There's a reason why America didn't win the War of 1812 and take us over.

God has a purpose for our nation.

God established our boundaries.

Do you believe that this morning?

I believe that.

And we're to stand on guard for Canada as any border guard stands on guard for what comes into our country.

We're to stand up for things on an ideological and a philosophical manner, things that come across borders, beyond borders, ideas.

You know, Napoleon made the statement, he said, give me a good idea and I'll conquer a country.

We are called to stand on guard for this nation and watch over the ideologies and the ideas that would come into our nation to rob it of its life, rob it of its destiny.

Number three.

Those of us who are truly born of God carry dual citizenship.

I was born in New Brunswick.

I carry a natural birth.

And I'm Canadian by natural birth.

But I am Christian by spiritual birth.

I carry dual citizenship.

The Bible writes in Philippians chapter 3 that, and Paul says this: your citizenship is in heaven.

Philippians 3 · chapter mention

Don't ever forget that you're a citizen of the kingdom of heaven now.

You've been transferred out of the kingdom here into another kingdom, and then you've been changed to be brought back to have an influence.

You're in this world, but you're not of this world now.

You understand that there are people that are living in Canada that have their citizenship in Canada, and all they think about Canada is through a Canadian grid, from an earthly grid.

But as soon as you give your life to Jesus, your grid shifts and changes.

You see it from the kingdom of heaven as a citizen of heaven.

Now, of course, and I'll allude to it later, but we pray that prayer, right?

Thy kingdom, thy will be done on earth, in Canada, as it is in heaven.

That's the heart of God.

And when we become a Christian, our desire, after having visited heaven through the new birth, is to bring what we know of heaven to earth.

And so we become people of the kingdom of God.

We are taught to render to Caesar what belongs to Caesar.

Oftentimes that's taxes and etc.

But we're also to give to God what belongs solely to him.

And so in our citizenship, we walk this dual citizenship and at times understand that there's a higher loyalty that we have than to our country and to our king.

We have a king of kings and a lord of lords, and a country that is above this country called the kingdom of God.

Hello?

Are you there?

Okay, don't go to sleep on me.

Grab this in your heart because this grid is critically important for us as I'm gonna talk about some of the things that we're facing as a country.

We give to God what belongs to God, but we recognize there's another Lord in our life.

And his name is Jesus.

And so at times in my life, I'm gonna be caught in a crisis of conscience, and I'm gonna be in a situation where I have to say, I'm a Canadian and I want to be obedient and serve this country, but there's a higher law that I must be obedient to.

And if you put me in jail for doing that, that's your responsibility.

But there's a higher law and a higher king that I serve.

Boy, it gets quiet in here, really quick.

Number four.

Government is God's idea, and it flows right out of the very nature of the Godhead.

There's a father, there's authority in the Godhead.

And Paul writes about this in Romans 13.

He says, Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except from God.

And the authorities that exist are appointed by God, for he is God's minister to you for good.

Who is the minister?

He's the servant of God who is to give righteous leadership in government.

In other words, God placed those who are in authority, in authority, they get their authority from him.

If they abuse that authority, the authority is undermined.

Do you understand?

There's a difference between me honoring authority and obeying authority.

I will honor every authority.

But if that authority asks me to do something contrary to the word of God, I will not obey.

There is a higher authority in my life.

Government is of God.

But those who are placed in positions of leadership are to give righteous leadership.

Proverbs 29, 2 says, with good men in authority, the people rejoice, but with the wicked in power, the people groan.

They groan under a weight that suppresses and oppresses their life.

Godly leaders, the Bible says, are good leaders.

And righteous laws will be the result of good leaders, godly leaders getting together.

The less godly that leaders become, the less righteous a nation becomes.

And the people begin to groan under the weight of evil laws.

By the way, don't buy into the deception that everything that is legal is moral.

That is a lie.

The world would have us believe that because it's legal, it's moral, and ultimately because it is perceived as moral, it will become normal within the country.

The problem with that, unfortunately, is when godly people rise up against these kinds of abusive laws, laws that are not moral, but are legal, they're considered to be illegal, immoral, and abnormal.

Just because we have something to say about something that to me or to you is uh is uh unmoral.

Did you get that?

Just because something is legal doesn't mean it's moral, and neither should it be normal.

Fifthly, our duty is not to obey man or to follow political parties, but to obey God and to pursue truth.

You may say there's such a thing, Pastor, as separation of church and state, and you should not politicize the pulpit.

I understand that.

I'm not gonna politicize the pulpit.

I'm not bringing politics to the pulpit, I'm bringing my Bible.

Paul called 1 in Timothy and 2 Timothy 4, 2, he said, You preach the word and be ready in season and out of season, because you cannot separate morality from truth and principles of God's word.

Paul wrote this, he said, Christ himself is the judge with the fine, he has the final say on everyone, living and dead.

He's about to break into the open with his rules, so proclaim the message with intensity.

That's the directive to me.

Keep on your watch, challenge, warn, urge people, don't ever quit.

You're gonna find that there will be times when people have no stomach for solid teaching but will fill up on spiritual junk food, catchy opinions that tickle their fancy, they'll turn their backs on truth and chase mirages.

But you keep your eye on what you're doing, accept the hard times along with the good, keep the message alive, and do a thorough job as God's servant, preach the truth.

That's my calling.

That's my responsibility, whether people like it or not.

Whether I make friends or make enemies.

And there are many issues that become positions in politics.

Some of those issues like abortion and same-sex attraction and racism and taxation.

The Bible has a lot to say about it all.

And so I turn to the word of God for my guidance and my wisdom.

How about you?

Six, he has shown us what we must do.

Micah chapter 6, verse 8 said, What does the Lord require of you and me, but to act justly, to love mercy and walk humbly before your God?

Micah 6:8

Last week, Pastor Brody spoke about walking humbly.

Using that word humbly is not looking like a worm looking for a hole to crawl into.

The word humble means a humble mind.

A man is one who yields to the will of God above his own will and acknowledges that there's someone that supersedes him.

And so humble humble people recognize God's will and serve God's will in every situation.

And by that, they come under people and their situations and lift them up because there are solutions with the will of God.

Secondly, he said, you gotta stay hungry.

Meaning, in regards to this, that there are things that are mission critical to the church.

And don't get apathetic and indifferent about what the church should be.

Keep your hunger, keep your passion, keep your heart alive for the things that'll make Canada a better place to live in.

And then he said, thirdly, hustle.

In other words, don't just whine and complain about the situations that are going on around us.

Do something.

Try to make a difference.

Could I have the water, please?

There is a pursuit of justice that is required for all of us.

Do you believe that?

It's not just mercy, it's not just humility that God requires of us.

He requires of us a heart that pursues justice.

And when something is unjust, we need to speak up.

So let me tell you about some of the things that we're facing in Canada today.

Things that you may or may not know.

Number one, we have no abortion law.

I'm saddened to this day because probably 25 years ago I had the opportunity to speak to 250 members of parliament called the Family Caucus and talk to them about the issues of abortion in our country that are now fairly normal and very, very widespread.

And at that point in time, my heart was, listen, I just can't go with any compromise on that.

But at that time there was a thought that maybe we should stop it at a third the first of trimester or the heart bill, the heartbeat.

And uh I look back at it now because we we lost that battle to protect the innocent who could not speak for themselves.

And I I think maybe I could have saved two-thirds of them if we had gotten another law in.

As it is, we have no law in Canada.

Between 1974 and 2010, there's over 3.1, 3.2 million Canadian children that have been aborted.

There are no restrictions, it's a non-law.

An abortion can happen right until the point of birth.

And as I've shared with some of you, understand it, some of the universities in our our Canadian universities are talking about post-birth abortions because if a child has no value in the womb, when does it have value?

But we've had a lot of scientific evidence growing as to a baby's humanity and life expectancy over the last uh 20 to 30 years.

And there needs to be a law put in place within our nation to protect those who have no voice.

We have no abortion law.

I want you to, I want you to hear this though.

That that lack of a law leads to rule an unruly nation because there's no rule.

And the attack of that is against the children and the next generation.

Secondly, we have one of the world's most liberal euthanasian laws.

There are a few checks and balances to the abuse of medical power.

Last year and the year before that, I spent a great deal of time connecting with the Senate of our country, talking to them about please do put some breaks and holds and checks and clutches on the on the legislation you're passing on euthanasia to no avail.

Guardians and executors of the seniors have little or no power to intervene if it's their choice to be euthanized.

And this is now becoming an epidemic in less than a year.

There's a lack of palliative care in our country, and it's led to almost 4,000 medically assisted deaths since becoming law in just over a year.

This is a serious epidemic in our country.

And it speaks to the value of the aged.

On the one hand, the abortion, the lack of abortion law speaks to our valuing of a baby in the womb, but on the other hand, it speaks to uh the lack of value of the senior.

We still have no real law regarding prostitution in Canada.

The law was struck down in December 2017, and the new bill, B-36, has until December 2018 to be really put into place.

The police enforcement authorities have real challenges enforcing this law.

And knowing what they can and what they cannot do, the intent of the uh of putting down the law before was to protect many young women who are being brought into the country and put into the sex slave trade.

And how can you put them in jail when they've been enslaved?

That was the heart of getting rid of that kind of legislation.

But what has happened has been there's been a lack of enforcement of the laws that are on the books, and it has opened the door to criminal activity through a lack of fear of prosecution and the sex slave trade and industry in Canada is flourishing, and many of the victims are the girls.

I'm concerned about it.

Are you concerned about it?

Number four, Bill C-75.

Maybe some of you have heard about it, maybe some of you have not.

But early this spring, the Liberal government introduced Bill C-75, and it was a piece of legislation that proposes to make sweeping changes to the criminal code.

And some of those changes need to be made, and we're in agreement with those changes.

But essentially, the bill proposes to allow convictions as a possible prosecutorial option for crimes that were previously indictable offenses for up to 10 years of imprisonment.

Now they can be reduced to a minor issue or a minor fine.

When you start looking at the list of what these changes to the criminal code entail, moving it from a prosecutorial situation where they could be held in prison to paying a minor fine, here are some on that list.

If you're involved in a terrorist group, fine.

If you breach a prison, fine.

If you obstruct or are commit a violence against a minister of the gospel, a fine.

In other words, if you assault me and beat me up, it's a fine.

If you're impaired driving and you cause bodily harm, a fine.

Abduction of a child under the age of 14, a fine.

Forced marriage, fine.

Arson for fraudulent purposes, a fine.

Material benefit from trafficking minors, a fine.

Advocating genocide, a fine.

You hear this?

My heart is somewhat broken today as I share these things with you.

We've got stuff happening in our country, and many of the Canadian people and its citizenry are not aware.

Number five, the Cannabis Act, Bill C45.

Some of you have heard about it.

It's already passed through Parliament and received royal assent, and is now before the Senate.

October 17th is the date the government has announced that the law will come into effect in Canada.

I don't have to tell you what medical professionals and mental health and addiction professionals are saying about and warning the nation about in terms of adopting this law.

But it's significant.

And a lot of the science behind it is being put down.

And again, from my perspective, this cannabis laws address is addressing our kids and our young people.

Again, another generation is at risk.

As a matter of fact, you may not know this, but one of the projected complications of that will be if we have this law in place October 17th, if you cross into the border across the border into the United States, you may wind up in prison.

If you've used pot, or even if you have it on your possession, it could be a lifetime ban of you ever entering the country.

Number six.

The Senate has a bill 206.

It's called an anti-spanking bill.

How many of you were spanked when you were kids?

How many of you lived?

Anybody survive?

Do I know that there's abuse, child abuse?

Absolutely, there's child abuse.

But I had a fear of my mom walking out and grabbing a little willow stick and coming back into the house with it.

And she was like five foot two.

I said, yes, mom.

I'm very grateful I was disciplined growing up.

I'm totally against abuse.

But here's an anti-spanking bill, and it removes the justification in the criminal code that is available to teachers and parents and persons that are standing in the place of parents to use some form of force as a means of correcting a pupil or a child under their care.

Now, this bill has been defeated before in the Senate, but it looks like at this point in time it may pass.

And if it does, it'll mean that even careful corrective force by loving parents would amount to parental assault.

I'm concerned about that.

Again, it's a bill that I believe is directed at the next generation, whether they come up and survive this and live.

How many of you know that it's like the next generation is under assault?

Let me add another one to that factor.

This last summer, the Canadian Summers Jobs Program.

Anybody hear about that?

Federal government provides$200 million to help 70,000 children or students across the country with summer jobs.

Employers were forced to attest that both the job and the organization's core mandate respect individual human rights in Canada, including the values underlying the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, as well as other rights.

These included reproductive rights and the right to be free from discrimination on the basis of sex, religion, race, national or ethnical origin, color, mental or physical disability, sexual orientation or gender identity or expression.

In other words, if you didn't carry in your heart the very same position morally and doctrinally that the Prime Minister and the government carried, you could not apply to hire some child and get funds from the Canadian government.

It's the first time in history that this has happened.

Your idea, your concern about, or your position on abortion or gender identity, if you had a different position than the government, you're not getting any funding.

Camp counselors, part-time work to help many thousands of students who relied on the program to pay their tuition, that was gone.

The worst part of it is that it has now undermined the freedom of religion in Canada, the freedom of speech, and it has targeted faith-based organizations across our country.

It's a concern.

Is it a concern for you?

Section two of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms was designed not to protect us, uh protect the government from us, but to protect us from the government by giving us the four fundamental freedoms that are outlined in section two, and that is freedom of conscience and religion, freedom of thought, belief and opinion, freedom of peaceful assembly, and freedom of association.

Those were all protections given to us in the charter.

Unfortunately, right now, every single one of those protections is under assault in the nation of Canada.

How many of you are aware of some of the stuff that I'm talking about here today?

How many of you are as concerned as I am about what's happening to our nation?

One thing that we've been battling over the last uh three months has been a program called SOGI, Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity.

SOGI 123 has been has been poured out across our country, starting in Ontario, then in Alberta, and now in British Columbia.

It's materials essentially on sexual orientation that have been put together by the ARC Foundation, which is essentially a gay foundation.

Those ideas are now being pushed through the courts by a rewriting of the human rights code into our schools this year.

And what was presented as an anti-bullying law, which how many of you believe that no one should be bullied?

That's something common for every one of us in our heart.

No person ought to be bullied for race, color, religion, background, gender.

That doesn't matter.

No bullying whatsoever should be going on within our culture, at school, at church, wherever.

We are for that.

But those materials are now being flushed into our school system.

And what was presented as an anti-bullying law has now become an ideological tool to indoctrinate a generation of children.

And though parental rights have been enshrined in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, those rights have been subjugated to the rule of law, and there is now the beginning of social reengineering of our kids through the state.

School boards, trustees, and parents are being forced to yield their religious beliefs to law and are being silenced under the threat of being labeled a homophobe, hateful, bigot, etc.

These are simply the silencing tools that stop legitimate dialogue when you want to sit down and you want to talk to someone about what you're sharing.

I'm concerned, deeply concerned, about what is transpiring within our culture.

Church is gonna have to be strong.

You're gonna have to stand up.

Probably like no other time in your life, you're gonna have to stand up for your faith and what you believe.

Lastly, there was a decision just recently by the Supreme Court of Canada regarding Trinity Western University.

They voted seven to two against their Christian community covenant that establishes a biblical grid for membership or in attendance, a ruling that right now is set of precedence that may actually change the history of Canada.

Little known in that rendering is that there was an eight to one vote that religious freedom was being minimalized in their decision.

And two judges, Coate and Brown, they found out that the interference with the free religious freedom of the Trinity Western community was not trivial or insubstantial.

Rather, they said the interference by the state was profound and substantially coercive in nature, meaning what the state should have done was have an accommodation for religious diversity and promote the interest and promote diversity.

Instead, they limited their freedom, their religious freedom.

They went on to say this the decision by certain provincial law societies not to accredit the school has violated the duty of the state to be neutral regarding religion.

A free society accommodates the diversity of beliefs, and it is therefore not open to the state to impose values it deems to be shared upon those who, for religious reasons, take a contrary view.

The charter protects the rights of religious adherents, among others, to participate in Canadian public life in a way that is consistent with their own values.

By accommodating diverse beliefs and values, the state protects and promotes the charter rights of all Canadians.

That was the view of those two judges that voted against it.

This law has now set a precedent for schools and churches right across our nation, making this statement that your religious freedom is the lowest aspect of your personal rights.

I could go on.

I'm concerned for Canada.

I've been uh I've lived on one side of Canada, and I'm living on the other side of Canada.

I was born in New Brunswick, lived my early life in Nova Scotia, loved the Acadians.

Came out to, thank you, I came out to uh to live here in British Columbia, went back and lived in Montreal and learned some French, then spent the rest of my life here in British Columbia.

I love my nation.

I love every part of my nation.

I love its history, I love its people, I love its languages, love its diversity, love its history, have a real love for its destiny, its future.

And my heart is broken over what I see happening within the nation of Canada today.

I know that in reading some of this today with you, it can consider be considered a downer.

It's not my heart, but it is to tell you the truth, and open up to you an understanding that the church is gonna have to get some backbone and get its voice back.

When I look at how many of these things are affecting the next generation, the young people, the children, my heart breaks.

Because it has a potential to mess with a generation for the rest of its life.

Now you can come against me, and I'll be merciful to you.

You come against my children or my grandchildren, you got a mother bear on your or a father bear on your hands.

You understand what I mean?

Something's rising up in the country.

Pastor Brody ended his message last week with this word.

He said, our nation needs the church.

It does.

As the church goes, so does the city.

As the city goes, so does the nation.

If the church is not healthy, the city won't be healthy.

If the cities are not healthy, the nation will not be healthy.

The calling upon the church is to be able to discern a nation's future by looking at its past and reconciling it back to the purposes that God intended for the nation.

When you and I were created, and we do something that's wrong, we sin, we mess with our DNA.

We mess with what God intended for our lives.

And sin becomes self-destructive.

It hurts us.

Over a period of time, it begins to mess with our emotions, mess with our psychology, mess with our physical body.

And we get wearied out and enslaved to our sin and become bound.

It's the same thing that happens to a, you know, in salvation, what God does is says, come on back to what I created you to be.

And the more you align yourself to what God I called you to be, the more functional and healthy and wholesome you will be.

Yes?

No?

You agree with that?

That's the power of salvation.

And that's the power of the redemptive work of God, is he calls an individual to say, Come back from your sin, repent, turn around, come back, come on back to me.

And if you come back to me, I will put you back into the place that I intended you always to be.

And that will bring peace to your soul, that'll bring joy to your life, it'll bring joy to your destiny.

Amen?

You believe that?

Salvation does that.

That's the joy of salvation.

Well, it's the same thing that happens in reference to cities, it's the same thing that happens in reference to a nation.

When a nation gets off track, when a city gets off track, how many of you know the motto of this city?

It says fruitful in, that's the motto of the city, fruitful in unity.

So what happens when the city is not unified?

Are we fruitful?

No, we're not fruitful.

The more unified we are as a city, the more we come together and work together on the unity of the spirit, the more blessed this city will be.

And everybody will say, we want to live in Kelowna.

It's such a blessed place to be.

So when the city aligns itself to its purpose and its destiny, God then is able to come in and work the purposes and his will and his ways out in that city and bring it into a blessed community.

The same thing goes with a city, uh, with a nation.

When a nation departs from its original intention and moves away from its essential calling, um, it begins to backslide, move away from the blessing of the Lord.

And the things that begin to happen is there's a downward, downward spiral that begins to happen with the city, as the nation as it becomes less and less godly, and then starts producing less and less godly laws.

Laws that then become, in quotes, defined as moral in a country and normal.

And all of a sudden, we've got a new normal that we're living in.

Revival, and our prayer for revival is simply, Lord, bring our country back to your essential purpose and intention.

God, what do you have in place for this country?

We're calling the nation back, back to its original cause.

Where he shall have dominion from sea to sea.

That was part of the DNA.

When we say we no longer want your dominion, we do no longer want you as Lord over our life, what happens to the country?

It begins to fall apart.

That's what I believe.

What do you believe?

Remember, I talked to you about little two boys that were watching their mom make cookies?

And the one turns to the little boy and says, You be Jesus.

You know what's so easy for us to put off on other people and say, You be Jesus.

I want to be Jesus in the shadows.

I don't really want to have to stand out.

I don't really want to have to stand up for something.

Come on.

What is happening across our country?

And I've been away a number of times in the last three months, been able to check the pulse of the church in Canada.

And I'm telling you, the church is rising up now.

When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Lord will raise up a standard.

Something is beginning to happen from one side of Canada to the other as the church is beginning to rise up.

The question this morning is like a mum to the kids, who wants to be Jesus?

People are coming together for the sake of the nation, the very thing that it was intended to destroy our nation.

The church is rallying together to say, no, we need to save the nation.

There's a new heart and a new spirit being placed in the church right across the country as pastors and leaders are starting to rise up.

To pray for our country.

We love our country.

You love your country?

I love my country.

This just causes me to pray more and to stand up and speak when I need to speak.

I'd like you to stand with me this morning, if you would.

I know that this has been a challenging word.

How many of you knew everything I was talking about here today already?

You knew about it?

You know that what we're facing legally, right?

In the country?

Do we need to take a stand?

Can we do it alone?

We can't do it alone.

We need the body of Christ to come together in a unified manner in a way that we've never known before.

My heart is to see that happen.

And to do everything in my power to bring leaders together across the country to stand up and speak, get their voice back.

Begin to talk about these things.

If we don't talk about them, things will be done in our absence, in our silence, and we'll never ever have a chance to speak to them again.

Will you pray for me?

I said, Will you pray for me?

I need your prayer.

I've watched what's happened in our country in the last 20 years, and I can see where it's going.

And by the grace of God, we have to see a turnaround.

There's got to be a spirit of repentance and reconciliation to the purposes of God.

And by the grace of God, we're going to go that way.

Wouldn't you just take the hand of someone beside you and just begin to pray for Canada?

What you've heard this morning from what I've shared with you.

Would you begin to pray?

Come on, I'd like to hear your heart.

I'd like to hear the sound of prayer this morning coming up from your heart to God.

Come on, do it verbally.

Do it vocally.

Not just inside.

Protect a generation, Lord.

Guard over this generation.

Guard over this generation, Lord.

Awaken our spirit.

Awaken our minds.

Awaken our prayer life.

As watchmen on the wall, we're warning.

Father, in Jesus' name, help us.

Father, we lift up our nation this morning to you.

Just come into agreement with this prayer.

Father, we lift up this nation of Canada before you this morning.

Our nation, our people, our culture, our society, our brothers and sisters, our friends, our family, generations that are emerging, cultures that are joining us from around the world.

Father, we pray in Jesus' name that you would preserve our country.

That you would come by your spirit, by your presence from one part of the nation to the other part and begin to move on this nation, cause it to go back to its original foundations and roots.

Lord, restore its integrity, restore its foundations, restore its destiny.

We're asking that, Father, in the name of Jesus.

Those things that are are hindering it from becoming all that you intended it to be, so that it can become a healing to the nations.

Lord, I pray in Jesus' name, remove those hindrances.

Take away those things that are creating the fears and the intimidation.

And Lord, cause your your voice to rise up right across the nation from one side to the other side with truth.

We ask that, Father, in the name of Jesus.

Let truth and justice reign in our country.

Raise up godly leaders.

We pray for our Prime Minister, Lord.

We pray for the members of Parliament.

We ask, Lord, that you would invade their minds with godly thoughts and righteous thinking, rationale that will help put this nation back on its track.

Lord, we pray for the King.

We pray for those in leadership that you would touch their hearts, shape their minds, cause them to be humble in their recognition of their need for you.

We ask that in the name of Jesus for your glory today.

And everyone said, Amen.
