  1. Hi, and welcome to the, we assign sermon podcast.

  2. We are local church based here in Chennai, India.

  3. We are so glad you are with us and hope that this will

  4. encourage Inspire. And in still, fresh faith.

  5. In you as we enter the season of Lent, we begin a new series

  6. called come alive with Jesus. Many of us may feel like we are

  7. sleepwalking through life or not.

  8. Feeling Fully Alive through this series, we hope that you will

  9. discover that in close proximity with the Savior.

  10. You will fully come alive. We have Christine, guest room

  11. opened the series by sharing on the treasure within, and how we

  12. can come alive. When we live with a better

  13. understanding of this. Let's hear what God has in store

  14. for us. Hi Church.

  15. Welcome to our church online. I'm so excited to bring God's

  16. word to you today. As you know, we have begun lent.

  17. We began this Feb 22nd this Wednesday were marked the

  18. beginning of Lent and we had an amazing time teaching on the

  19. previous series, which was catch the wind, and which is the theme

  20. for the whole year. And this year is going to be

  21. exciting because we know that if God gives us a theme like that

  22. that he's got some exciting surprises in store for us.

  23. And as we began lent, we begin a brand new series and I don't

  24. know what length has meant to you in the past, but we are

  25. looking at this Lent 2023. Meant as a time when we actually

  26. get added time with Jesus, we will turn a new Bible plan,

  27. which is come out. It's called face to face with

  28. Jesus. You're welcome to do it with

  29. friends or by yourself. It will require that you give

  30. Jesus another extra five minutes and it just requires a bit of

  31. time for you to meditate on God's word and to ask yourself

  32. some questions. And even as we get into this new

  33. series, we have titled, this new series, come alive, come alive

  34. with Jesus. How many of you can attest to

  35. this? That you just walk through life

  36. sometimes. It was zombie because of the

  37. kind of work pleasure because of the kind of family pressures and

  38. struggles and health issues or or relational problems that you

  39. just feel like you know, like you're The Walking Dead walking

  40. around doing the things you have to do.

  41. You really don't feel like you're filled with Vitality.

  42. I know I have walked through life many times like that many

  43. times last year. It felt like I was just doing

  44. the things I had to do, like, you know, just ticking check

  45. boxes, but not really living and experiencing life, life in

  46. abundance, And as we do this series for the next six weeks or

  47. so, this is our desire for each of us that we would really come

  48. alive in the presence of Jesus. That is a desire.

  49. A desire is that we will get into his word, we will hear his

  50. voice. We will follow his leading and

  51. we'll see, just how abundant Our Lives can be maybe press, don't

  52. get answered, maybe wealth doesn't increase.

  53. Maybe breakthroughs, all don't come, but just the fact that we

  54. are in his presence, just the fact that we get to know.

  55. A little bit more will definitely bring us to life.

  56. So even as we get into today's world, that's what I want you to

  57. enter the series with a sense of expectation.

  58. And as I begin, let me just say a quick word of prayer.

  59. Father, I pray that as we open up the word that you would speak

  60. through me. And I pray that each one of us

  61. wherever we are however, low we're feeling even if we've been

  62. just feeling spiritually dead or emotionally, they don't mentally

  63. dead father. We pray that we will come alive

  64. with you. Jesus. - we love you and we

  65. thank you in your holy name we pray.

  66. Amen. Amen so let's get into the word

  67. of God. Okay so we're going to be

  68. looking at 2nd Corinthians, Chapter 4, verses 7 to 12 today.

  69. So what it says is this, we have this treasure in Jars of Clay to

  70. show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us,

  71. you know, before you get into this, you have to understand

  72. that second Corinthians chapter 3 and 4 are talking about the

    2 Corinthians 3 chapter mention

  73. powerful Gospel of Jesus, the god.

  74. Through where Jesus came to Earth, he walk like one of us

  75. and then he was crucified. He died a horrific that.

  76. But in that death, the blood that was shed was the blood of

  77. the New Covenant, when he established a life, with us, for

  78. us on us, in our state, he died for us.

  79. And now each of us are saved because of that death, and it

  80. didn't just stop there. The gospel doesn't stop with the

  81. death of Jesus. It continued when Jesus was

  82. resurrected on the third. Day.

  83. He came back to life and the word of God is very clear.

  84. It talks about how that resurrection power of Jesus

  85. lives inside each one of us who accept him to be the Lord of our

  86. lives. So it's a powerful gospel.

  87. And therefore, Paul starts this portion of this chapter by

  88. saying, but we have this treasure, this treasure in Jars

  89. of Clay to show that the surpassing power belongs to God

  90. and not to us. I always joke that before one of

  91. us on the teaching team, share a mess.

  92. Which we have Force trained in it.

  93. And so, this week began, great, Monday Tuesday had started

  94. preparing and Tuesday night. I came down with the flu and

  95. even now I'm still on medication, still feeling

  96. exhausted and it was God was it was like God was reminding me,

  97. you guys are Jars of Clay, you are frail, you are feeble.

  98. But it is my power that is at work in you.

  99. And what Paul was trying to say in this imagery he saying that

  100. you each of us are so feeble. Well, we're so limited with so

  101. finite, but the power of God that is within us, makes us

  102. indomitable it, makes us Overcomers it, makes us

  103. Victor's. It makes us the ones who last

  104. till the very end. It's not because of us, it's not

  105. because of our mental strength is not because of our ability is

  106. not because we are warriors at heart, is because of the power

  107. that is within us, we come alive, when we realize

  108. progressively, the kind of power that we possess as followers of

  109. Jesus, lot of A living powerless lives.

  110. And today, I want us to remember that if I have Jesus in my life,

  111. he's the greatest treasure and with him comes the resurrection

  112. power. That was exerted at that tomb,

  113. that left it, empty and therefore you.

  114. And I now today live with that kind of power in our bodies, in

  115. our Spirits, in our minds, we are not powerless.

  116. I remember growing up a lot of times, my brother and I did

  117. stupid stuff or behaved foolishly.

  118. Foolishly my mum would use this phrase, she would say column on

  119. Monday, you know, what does that mean?

  120. It means do you, is your brain made of clay because your head

  121. made of clay. And when I was just thinking

  122. about it this past week at it brought, you know, actually made

  123. me laugh because I realized it was the closest thing to the

  124. truth. It was not an insult.

  125. We are made of clay, our bodies are made of clay and yet and yet

  126. God uses us limited beings human beings with off.

  127. Will tease without flaws. He uses us to display his glory,

  128. to a watching World continuing with 2 Corinthians, Chapter 4

    2 Corinthians 4:8–9

  129. verses 8 to 9. We just read verse 7, there

  130. verse 8. To 9, we are hedged in pressed

  131. on every side, troubled and oppressed in every way.

  132. But not cramped or crushed, we suffer embarrassments and are

  133. perplexed and are unable to find a way out but not driven to

  134. despair. We are pursued persecuted and

  135. hard. Even but not deserted to stand

  136. alone. We are struck down to the ground

  137. but never struck out and destroyed.

  138. It's interesting because a lot of us find that we have a killer

  139. instinct when it comes to work, maybe when it comes to a

  140. relationship is very pushy. We can actually move and be

  141. aggressive and and get someone back into our lives.

  142. Maybe when it came to a certain Financial obstacles you have

  143. pushed through, you have found a way for your family to make it

  144. maybe when it came to your marriage.

  145. You Somehow fought and made it through.

  146. And that's isn't that the story of our lives that we somehow

  147. pushing and prodding, and we want things to work, we're

  148. holding things together. But what if all of that is

  149. happening? What if we have that innate

  150. capability? Not because of ourselves, but

  151. because of the power within us, that's what policy and he

  152. saying, there is a treasure in these Jars of Clay because of

  153. which we are pressed, but not crushed persecuted.

  154. But not abandoned, struck down but not destroyed.

  155. So if you are sitting and watching this sermon right now,

  156. you are an overcomer, you have been may be pressed on, but you

  157. are not destroyed. Maybe you were completely, you

  158. felt like you were obliterated by the enemy but you're not

  159. disappeared yet. You are still there.

  160. If there is life in your body, there is purpose.

  161. If you still made it out, maybe you just like, you know, those

  162. boxes. When they just about to pass out

  163. of, they put one hand up. One leg up.

  164. They're not struck out there, brought back in, maybe you are

  165. like Maybe you feel like you've just been whacked at, and every

  166. direction spiritually, maybe your mental health has suffered

  167. because the kind of trauma, you've endured but still, you

  168. haven't given up. Have you thought that?

  169. Maybe? It's because of the power within

  170. you. Today is a time when we

  171. recalibrate and we look at ourselves and look, in the

  172. mirror. And, you know, we're living in a

  173. time when people are telling you to look in the mirror and

  174. endorse yourself, validate yourself, do these things.

  175. But the beautiful thing is, those of us who are in Christ

  176. are already validated by him instead.

  177. Now we need to be looking past ourselves at the power within us

  178. and that is the power of a risen savior.

  179. This power is not because you and I have extremely great will

  180. power. It's not because we are so

  181. strong harder that we can beat anything that comes at as it is

  182. because of the power of Christ within us 2 Corinthians 4

  183. reading from 10 to 12. Now we always carry around in

  184. our body, the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also

  185. be Sealed in our body. For we who are alive are always

  186. being given over to death for Jesus sake.

  187. So that his life may also be revealed in our mortal body.

  188. So then death is at work in us but life is at work in you.

  189. We can never really experienced life if we haven't died a bit.

  190. Okay? What does that mean?

  191. Every one of us who actually have accepted Jesus?

  192. Who love Jesus, who are followers of Jesus, whatever you

  193. call yourself. The minute you come step into

  194. this new life in Christ, you find certain things have to die

  195. or certain things die in his presence.

  196. For example, I have many times have had to give funeral

  197. services to my ego to my selfish ambition, to my people pleasing

  198. to my selfishness to my pride many times subsequent on

  199. subsequent days. Even it's not just been a one.

  200. Once in Duncan of thing, when you come into the presence of

  201. God, you know, the light of the world, he is light will start

  202. shining on the Gary has a few life and eventually those dark

  203. areas begin to die out. And here polishing the we carry

  204. around in our bodies, the death of Jesus, which means we share

  205. in his sufferings the stuff we are going through now on Earth

  206. the stuff that our Brethren are going through around the globe,

  207. hardship, War famine calamities. All of this, we are carrying in

  208. our body, the suffering of Jesus, death of Jesus.

  209. But the beautiful thing is so that the life of Jesus may also

  210. be Sealed in our bodies. It's not for want.

  211. It's not for nothing. All of our suffering.

  212. Has a meaning all of our pain has a meaning.

  213. Lot of people don't like being told that God causes suffering,

  214. God doesn't cause suffering, he allows it because he knows that

  215. in that suffering, he is revealed when we endure it.

  216. When we walk through it, his glory is revealed through our

  217. lives. We don't get to pinpoint and

  218. tell God, you know, what I can do without the suffering that

  219. your glory, be revealed in the good times.

  220. Even in the worst times, his glory is revealed and it says

  221. over here, that the life of Jesus It may also be revealed in

  222. our body. For we who are alive are always

  223. being given over to death for Jesus sake.

  224. Always is like I said, regular dying to self.

  225. You're married. You learn that.

  226. You should write your ego on a daily basis.

  227. You have to diet your selfishness, you have children,

  228. you have to exercise self-control.

  229. All those negative words that were spoken over.

  230. You you need to die to it now. So you speak life over your

  231. children constantly. And when the death is at work

  232. in, as your, that's the dying of certain things that have to die

  233. life being gets revealed in others, you bring life to

  234. others. That's what he's talking about.

  235. But the question today is this, we're talking about coming alive

  236. in Jesus. And I believe that today, as we

  237. look at 1 Corinthians chapter 4, we are coming to a place.

    1 Corinthians 4 chapter mention

  238. We're going to come alive to Jesus.

  239. When we look at the treasure within us, Lot of times, we have

  240. been used to being called the treasure.

  241. Maybe when you were a child, your parents call.

  242. You water, treasure, how precious you are a treasure.

  243. But the treasure within you is priceless because if you look at

  244. the analogy of a clay pot, you know, get a clay pot is under,

  245. don't is ordinary and it's liable to break.

  246. It's liable to get chipped. It's liable to get marked.

  247. Its liable to have scars on it because of water or Flame or or

  248. just excessive sunlight, it changes color.

  249. Doesn't look the same as when you bought it.

  250. It's porous. It's fragile.

  251. But the beautiful thing is that policy, there is a treasure

  252. Within These Jars of Clay. And so, you and I today,

  253. however, irrespective of how we look, how we Adorn ourselves the

  254. lifestyles, we lead the other, you know, the backgrounds, we

  255. come from, whatever it is, all of that, all of that is okay.

  256. But what matters more is the treasure within us?

  257. Are we aware of the treasure within us?

  258. That's when we come alive and I want to eat three.

  259. Things with you. From this passage, we're going

  260. to continue, reading to Corinth, we're going to continue reading

  261. this. Passage 2 Corinthians, chapter

    2 Corinthians 4 chapter mention

  262. 4. And as we read it, only three

  263. things with you three ways, in which, we can actually come

  264. alive to the treasure within us. Okay, so I'm going to be reading

  265. from 2 Corinthians Chapter 4 verses 13 to 18.

    2 Corinthians 4:13–18

  266. And as I read it I want you to just in your mind.

  267. Maybe, highlight, certain things.

  268. I'm going to ask you to highlight.

  269. Okay, 2 Corinthians 4:13 to 18 since we have Same Spirit of

    2 Corinthians 4:13–18

  270. Faith, according to what has been written, I believed in.

  271. So, I spoke we also believe. And so, we also speak highlight

  272. that your head we believe. And so, we also speak knowing

  273. that, he who raised the Lord, Jesus will raise us also, with

  274. Jesus and bring us with you into his presence for.

  275. It is all for your sake. So that as Grace extends to more

  276. and more people, it may increase Thanksgiving to the glory of God

  277. so we do not lose heart. Light that we do not lose heart

  278. though. Our outward self is wasting

  279. away. Our inner self is being for us

  280. an eternal weight of Glory beyond all comparison.

  281. As we look not at the things which are seen.

  282. But at the things that are unseen, for the things that are

  283. seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are

  284. Eternal highlight that the things that are unseen are

  285. Eternal, okay? That's very vital thing that

  286. we're going to be looking at three things, three things that

  287. each of us. Need to apply in our lives on a

  288. daily basis. In order that we actually come

  289. alive to the treasure within us. The Treasure of a risen savior,

  290. The Treasure of a resurrected Christ and his power alive in

  291. us. Sometimes we believe a very

  292. half-baked gospel. We focus too much on the fall of

  293. Man and we forget that we are redeemed.

  294. Maybe you focus so much on the Redemption that you forget that

  295. we have the Holy Spirit who is renewing us on a daily basis.

  296. That's an important part of the gospel, maybe.

  297. You forgotten that we have that resurrection power alive in us

  298. today, if it was not for the resurrection you and I would be

  299. the most hopeless of people. Today, we don't have to fear

  300. death because of the Resurrection.

  301. You and I don't have to be afraid of an endless eternity.

  302. Spent in damnation in suffering, we have the hope of Eternity

  303. with Jesus because of the Resurrection.

  304. He won over death. Conquered it once and for all

  305. and therefore you and I can come alive to this power.

  306. If first of all, we speak out and Faith so often when we, when

  307. you have an argument with someone or with your child, or

  308. the spouse or a friend, the stuff we say, reveals the

  309. deepest things of our heart, sometimes, when you correcting a

  310. child and you're telling your child, don't do that in the

  311. child. Asks, why not?

  312. And you see, because I'm afraid you'll break your head or you

  313. say something like that and then you realize you're not speaking

  314. from a place of faith. This chair you are communicating

  315. your fear to the child. Your you're seeing my deepest

  316. darkest fear, is that I would break, I would have broken my

  317. head in the similar fashion so I don't want you to do that but

  318. it's very important not just in parenting, but in life as to

  319. what we declare with our mouths, someone 16 verses 10 to 11 in

  320. the passion translation says this.

  321. Even when it seems I'm surrounded by many liars and my

  322. own fears and though I'm hurting in my suffering and Trauma, I

  323. still stay faithful to God and speak words of faith.

  324. Is that beautiful? It really depicts.

  325. A lot of highlights. You might be struggling right

  326. now in different areas or maybe right now.

  327. It's very calm and cool. Setting, you're not really

  328. having much to suffer with but maybe you carry, baggage and so,

  329. you're tempted to speak from a place of Doubt, of disbelief of

  330. just repeated disappointment of endless waiting, but he says

  331. here, I still stay faithful to God.

  332. The psalmist says he will. Still stay faithful and speak

  333. words of Faith. How many of us can honestly say?

  334. That's the route. We take, Don't ask you, what are

  335. you speaking today? Are you speaking out of here is

  336. very easy. When you are on a sick bed for

  337. all your negativity to come to the surface, oh, I'm going to be

  338. like this forever or every time I just recover I go back into

  339. the slump. What's wrong with me?

  340. Something's wrong with me. I'm not fit to exist deep dark.

  341. Spirals begin when we start to speak out of here, but God is

  342. saying, I want you to speak out of Faith.

  343. Why not? Because this is positive

  344. thinking, not because it's to change the Vibes in your room or

  345. in your office space. No, it is because you believe in

  346. a God, who is risen? He says, because I believe that

  347. he will bring me to him with you.

  348. He saying, you have that position and Christ.

  349. Now, the power of the resurrected Christ is in you,

  350. you have that position and standing, so speak out in faith

  351. because of that, I don't speak out in faith because I need to

  352. feel better. I speak out and Faith because I

  353. know better. I know the god of the universe

  354. is on my side. I know my Creator created me for

  355. a purpose. I know that when he makes me.

  356. Wait, he's waiting with me. I know that when he's taking me

  357. through the valley of the shadow of death, he has not left me for

  358. a minute. If you've been saying to

  359. yourself, I never be healed. If you've been seeing a lever,

  360. have a breakthrough, may be a been saying, I'm not experienced

  361. the miraculous in my life. Maybe you're saying I'll always

  362. be stuck here in this rut. I will not see a change in my

  363. relationship status. I'm not going to see a change in

  364. my child, what we speak shapes our reality.

  365. And the truth is in a risen savior, a reality shifted.

  366. We have hope every single day. We have an assurance that better

  367. things are yet to come. Maybe it's not happening right

  368. now but it's going to happen. And so when I start to speak out

  369. in faith, I'm shifting my reality.

  370. Yes, this is what it looks like, but God, I know you have said

  371. that, you go before me. You Ooh, provided honey from The

  372. Rock. Lord, that's who you are.

  373. Do that for me, you are, you have said that.

  374. You have, you will teach us to profit.

  375. My business is running into the ground, teach me how to profit

  376. because I know you will do it. You see how it shifts the

  377. atmosphere from an atmosphere of fear to an atmosphere of Faith.

  378. So this is not a Prosperity, Gospel pitch.

  379. I'm not saying that you name it and claim it, not at all.

  380. I am saying the power within you had is the new reality.

  381. It's the reality that it is. The Saviour dwells in you, he

  382. spirit is with you, he is empowering you, you know, no

  383. longer need to be afraid. You can live in faith, and the

  384. extension of living in faith is speaking out in faith, what I

  385. declare will shape my reality. So the first way in which you

  386. come alive with Jesus, to the treasure within you is when you

  387. begin to speak out and faith, will you try it this week?

  388. Simple things with your children, you can correct them

  389. and discipline them. Without speaking out in fear,

  390. you can speak to your spouse. Clearly speaking, your heart out

  391. without speaking out in fear, but speaking out in faith

  392. declare in faith, things over your situation believe, Eve that

  393. this God who conquered death and the grave Will Conquer your

  394. hardest situations for you. The second thing is strength in

  395. your heart. He says so we don't lose heart

  396. because outwardly we are wasting away inwardly.

  397. We are being renewed this week. When I was unwell, this

  398. particular flu started off with a backache and you know, the the

  399. middle part of the back starts painting and then it just

  400. radiates to the whole body and I was, I didn't know I was going

  401. in for the flu, but I remember coming down on Tuesday night and

  402. telling my husband I'm feeling every bit my age and feeling as

  403. old as I really am. I've not felt that way in a way.

  404. So I was telling him that I was laughing and saying, you know

  405. what, I'm the definition of this jar of clay outwardly wasting

  406. away inwardly, I hope I'm being renewed, and it felt like a joke

  407. is that time, but the truth is, is very essential for us as

  408. humans to strengthen our hearts. You look at a clay pot, like I

  409. said, so liable to damage liable to injury.

  410. And when you read the Old Testament, Testament.

  411. When you re levity case another, the Commandments given to people

  412. is if something in unclean falls into an earthen pot, you break

  413. it, and throw it, it was that disposable.

  414. If it fell into a bronze jar, they had to scour it with a, you

  415. know, like a vessel cleaner. But if it fell into a clay pot,

  416. use break it and throw it. Imagine you need to strengthen

  417. your heart because our bodies are so fragile.

  418. That happened to us affect us, even the strongest of you out

  419. there certain things happen that can be sold.

  420. Crushing divorce, that happens is soul-crushing, abuse, that

  421. happens is soul-crushing. The things that people put you

  422. through the things, that maybe you have made wrong choices and

  423. put yourself through can be so destructive.

  424. And unless we on a regular basis strengthen our heart, we won't

  425. withstand it. We won't come through it alive.

  426. And so I Us to come to this place of saying, Lord, I want

  427. you to strengthen my heart because the heart that is not

  428. strengthened is a heart. That's liable to be fragmented

  429. and eventually destroyed enough. Broken heart doesn't make for a

  430. full life, you know, if you live with a crushed Spirit, the Bible

  431. says, Your life doesn't really matter.

  432. Then, we want to come to a place where we bring this heart of our

  433. stew. Jesus on a regular basis daily

  434. basis, and see a lot strengthen my heart for today.

  435. I know stuffs happening that could potentially break my

  436. heart, but strengthen my heart. When David was in a hard place

  437. with all his followers, they were talking about killing him

  438. because, you know, bad stuff that happened to their whole

  439. Army and to their families. And it said, David strengthened

  440. himself in the Lord. Some 28 was 7 to 8.

  441. Yaoi is my strength and my wraparound Shield, when I fully

  442. trust in you, help is on the way.

  443. I jumped for joy and burst forth with ecstatic, passionate

  444. praise. I will sing songs of what you

  445. mean to me. You will be the inner strength

  446. of all your people. Yahweh, the mighty protector of

  447. all and the saving strength for all your anointed ones.

  448. How do we strengthen our heart? Is there a Procedure because all

  449. of us want to do. How do I do this right from

  450. this? It's quite easy to understand

  451. what we must do in order to strengthen our heart on a daily

  452. basis. We need to worship, we need to

  453. surrender this very hard for those of us who have control

  454. issues, because we'd much rather, hold back stuff.

  455. Keep it safe, shelter, it. And then still think we're

  456. worshipping God. We still think that, you know,

  457. we can handle the stuff that comes at us, but it is in

  458. complete surrender to God. That I'm actually Ending that my

  459. heart is more strengthened because I'm telling him.

  460. I trust you with this more than I trust myself with this.

  461. So, here you, this is my family. This is my job, this, my

  462. parents, these are my finances, or the lack of it.

  463. And when you surrender in order to not be left in an empty

  464. place, we worship from that place.

  465. So that the simple act, you know, I'm since I teach Dance,

  466. I'm going to tell you this, the simple Act of lifting, your

  467. hands in worship is an act of Surrender because it's saying

  468. I'm not holding anything back and releasing it to you.

  469. So, you surrender any worship? Because when you passionately,

  470. praise him for, who he is for what he has done, you are

  471. unconsciously. Strengthening your heart.

  472. You're telling God, all of this is yours.

  473. All of this is yours. None of it is mine.

  474. I'm giving it all to you. And when you lift up your voice

  475. and praise, when you give your body in unbroken, praise to him

  476. something shifts. I've been understanding.

  477. What it means to bring a sacrifice of praise.

  478. Even when you're unable to, you probably sick in bed, you're

  479. unable to praise to still lift your hands.

  480. Listen to worship music and believe that that's an Anthem.

  481. For your soul is a sacrifice even when you're completely

  482. broke, And you step into church and as it is to the congregation

  483. worships for you to sing out with them is a sacrifice of

  484. praise and it's then that God can strengthen your heart.

  485. He cannot strengthen our heart. When we are holding on to

  486. everything really tight, when we stubborn about not worshiping

  487. him till things, become better, it's where I am at right now,

  488. when I'm able to surrender and worship him, there he

  489. strengthens. My heart says over there, he's

  490. the protector. Our of all he is the Inner

  491. Strength for his people. Unless I strengthen my heart, I

  492. will not come alive with Jesus because let me tell you this

  493. right from the from, you know, just as like a, you know, like a

  494. basic Foundation. We're going to face hard things

  495. in our life. If our hearts are not

  496. strengthened, we will not make it.

  497. We will fall apart at the seams. It's important that we

  498. strengthen our heart on a daily basis.

  499. I don't know what worship looks like to you.

  500. I don't know what surrendering looks like to you for me.

  501. The minute I start worrying about something and holding

  502. something very tight. I know that that's the very

  503. thing I need to surrender to him.

  504. During this flu season, each of our kids were falling sick, I

  505. was getting so stressed, will this tie get better?

  506. Will this one be okay? Will they lose their voice

  507. panicking and then I realized that I somehow thought I was

  508. protecting them. When in reality they were in the

  509. hands of a sovereign God and the minute I started surrendering

  510. them to him. I found that I was at greater

  511. peace. I found that I was at.

  512. I was more calm than had been before, and so I want to ask you

  513. will, you allow God to strengthen your heart every

  514. single day, practice it for the next 40 days.

  515. When you wake up, you see, Lord strengthen my heart for today.

  516. I don't know what obstacles are going to come up.

  517. I don't know what negativity is going to be thrown my way but I

  518. want to live a life so strengthen my heart.

  519. Help me worship you with complete surrender, sir.

  520. I can really, really come alive. That's the second thing.

  521. The third thing is that we would see the Eternal.

  522. Now I know that there's this. I think someone came up with

  523. this court, which says, some of them are so Heavenly minded that

  524. they're of no earthly use. And I think that's, it's not a

  525. completely correct statement. Because Jesus himself said,

  526. where your treasure is there your heart is Lay up Treasures

  527. for yourself in heaven, not on Earth where moth and rust steal

  528. and destroy. So why are we so fixated on what

  529. we see if you have watched these shows where they go and

  530. declutter homes? You know, you see people who

  531. hold up stuff and I think I was watching one, we're in the UK,

  532. they go and declutter people's homes and these people are

  533. called holders, unfortunately, and I don't like using a

  534. descriptive like that. So, these are people who hoard

  535. stuff, let's call them that they houses.

  536. Is with filled with things like, multiple multiple stands

  537. lampstands, multiple sofas, multiple Coke cans.

  538. It was like, we only can drink from one at a time.

  539. We can only sit on once off at a time, but here were people who

  540. are accumulated so much over the years that they didn't have

  541. space to stay at in the end of the day.

  542. And that's when these people would step in intervene and

  543. clean up the house and eat. Some of us are like that.

  544. Some of us are like that, we're in.

  545. We so caught up with the temporal, the stuff that we see

  546. that we are forgetting that we were meant for eternity.

  547. Now, what does that mean? When we say we are meant for

  548. eternity doesn't mean I'm just going to prepare for my funeral

  549. and you know be ready to die and see my makeup.

  550. What does that look like right? It probably sounds.

  551. So dark and dismal but that's not what it actually means.

  552. So our lives are so transient, right?

  553. If it was not for the treasure within us, our life on Earth

  554. would be it. It's because of the treasurer of

  555. the Risen Christ within us that we don't just have purpose here

  556. on Earth. But we have purpose for eternity

  557. because God is renewing. The earth and the heavens.

  558. It says he's renewing it and we have a part to play in the

  559. renewed heavens and the Earth as well as not just for now.

  560. So I life on Earth is just a DOT a suspect but I live for

  561. eternity He is forever and ever, and it's going to be a beautiful

  562. lie. So that's why most Christians

  563. are not very worried about death because here I have eternity.

  564. So the important thing is I think when we were preparing

  565. this whole series, we realize that.

  566. So often we're preparing for eternity.

  567. We forget how to live now, and the important thing is this,

  568. Each of us need to fix our eyes on the Eternal, so that we live.

  569. Well, now, eternity is coming for some of us sooner than we

  570. expect for some may be much later.

  571. But the truth is this, how you? And I Live Now will determine

  572. our Eternity. For example, if you're living

  573. carelessly, we living like as if you know, what my choice is,

  574. don't matter. I can do anything Grace covers

  575. it, all then that might not be the right way to live.

  576. Maybe some of us have openly rejected.

  577. The gospel move said, you know what, I don't want.

  578. Jesus, I don't want any of this. Maybe.

  579. We've turned away from everything that we knew was the

  580. truth in pursuit of things that helped us in the current moment.

  581. But God is calling us to a place, a thing, come back to me,

  582. fix your eyes on the things that are not seen.

  583. You are in a battle that you cannot even see, it's a battle

  584. for your soul. Psalm, 27 verse 13, the psalmist

    Psalms 27:13

  585. says this yet. I believe, with all my heart

  586. that I will see again, your goodness Yahweh in the land of

  587. life, eternal. Psalm 27 verse 13.

    Psalms 27:13

  588. I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

  589. He's not talking about life on Earth, he's talking about life,

  590. eternal Everlasting that is our where our gaze goals.

  591. So in my life is hard here, we know this is not, it is not the

  592. end, we have life eternal, but how do I come alive to the

  593. treasure within me? When I keep my eyes on the

  594. Eternal? You may ask that doesn't even

  595. make sense. The truth is everything.

  596. You and I do here on Earth has Eternal implications.

  597. The way I bring my children up has Eternal implications the way

  598. I stored my marriage, Eternal implications, the way I do my

  599. job, many of us. I think that our ministry is

  600. more important than our vocation.

  601. Then I then I jobs are, jobs, is a space.

  602. God has placed you and me to excel at to bring the light of

  603. his glory there. So if you're an engineer, if

  604. you're a doctor, if you are a teacher, if you are an admin

  605. head, if you're if you just person who's part of a team that

  606. place that job you do is all important.

  607. It has Eternal implications, it's not for nothing.

  608. So don't treat it like as if you know what that second grade,

  609. it's not important. My primary thing is to go Out

  610. and, you know, preach to the loss, the Lost are right where

  611. you're at. What are you doing with your

  612. job? Are you stewarding it?

  613. Well, are you treating people with the greatest of respect the

  614. way? Jesus would everything we do on

  615. this side of Eternity, has Eternal implications, what?

  616. You're building today, your family, your community has

  617. Eternal implications. It doesn't end.

  618. Now, it doesn't end with you. It goes on and on, it has

  619. repercussions positive or negative.

  620. So how we live? D matters.

  621. How we do things today matters for eternity?

  622. So don't assume that eternity is far away so I can just do

  623. whatever. And then the levantar I just,

  624. you know, say you know what, Jesus, I Need, You know, we need

  625. Jesus right now so that we the lead-up to Eternity is

  626. fulfilling its abundant because we're living out our purpose to

  627. the greatest ability. We are living with, such love

  628. for people for God, and for people that It has everything

  629. that we don't get so focused on what we're going through that.

  630. We forget the Eternal is very important because a lot of

  631. times, those of us who have walked through long-term

  632. diseases, but walk through chronic conditions is very easy

  633. for the focus to shift to the body, which is failing.

  634. But the beautiful thing is that God wants us to shift our eyes.

  635. He says, I know what you're going through, I know you're

  636. suffering but what is the Eternal aspect of this?

  637. How many can you draw into me into my kingdom in spite of what

  638. you're walking through? Because I life has Eternal

  639. ramifications, everything we say, and do now matters in the

  640. light of Eternity. So, as we close for today, okay,

  641. these are the three things I want to leave with you.

  642. And it's I know it's a lot to chew on especially the Eternal

  643. concept, okay? But even how we accumulate

  644. wealth, even how we hold up wealth for ourselves and we

  645. don't give to the ones who need it.

  646. All of that matter is, when we have eternity in our site, I

  647. would encourage you to read the gospels.

  648. If you feel you have two cells, are too heavy to read, be the

  649. gospels. Jesus talks about how to live

  650. within, Eternity mindset. Jesus came two or three years,

  651. he has Ministry 30 years, honor, three more years of ministry,

  652. but his entire time his mind was on an eternity.

  653. When he was sitting with that Samaritan woman at the, well,

  654. when his disciples come back and the he says, you know what, I

  655. had food that you have no idea what and his disciples are

  656. thinking on an Earthly perspective.

  657. Did someone come and give him a packed lunch?

  658. But he's for him. The work of his father here on

  659. Earth, was his spiritual nourishment.

  660. Do we operate like that? Do we look at every opportunity

  661. around us and think, you know what this has Eternal benefits.

  662. I want to cash in on that. I want to reach out to this

  663. person. Even if it's just one person

  664. that seems insignificant to you will you do it will you do your

  665. job in such a way that it glorifies the Father in Heaven

  666. because that's ultimately what our Eternal perspective should

  667. be. So when we want To come alive

  668. with Jesus. Coming alive to the treasure

  669. within us. The first thing is speak out and

  670. faith. What?

  671. We speak matters? It defines.

  672. Our reality must speak out in faith.

  673. The second is, you must strengthen your heart, and you

  674. must see the Eternal as we close.

  675. I just want to leave this with you.

  676. Maybe it'll help clinch the deal for, you know, about coming

  677. alive to the treasure within you.

  678. I want to read two passages and as I close, I want you maybe to

  679. just spend some time. After this, this service just

  680. reading backward and asking God what He wants to speak

  681. specifically to you, right? Jeremiah chapter 18 verses 2 to

    Jeremiah 18:2–6

  682. 6, go down to The Potter's House and there I will give you my

  683. message. So I went down to The Potter's

  684. House and I saw him working at the wheel but the party was

  685. shaping from the clay was marred in his hands.

  686. So the Potter formed it in another pot shaping it as seemed

  687. best to him. Then the word of the Lord came

  688. to me. He said, can I not do with you

  689. Israel as this Potter does declares the Lord like Clay in

  690. the hands of the Potter. So are you in my hand?

  691. Israel. I want you to put your name in

  692. there, where it says, Israel if you can put your name in there,

  693. so I would read it. Can I not do with you?

  694. Christine as this Potter does like, clay in the hands of the

  695. Potter? So I you in my hand.

  696. Christine, if you can put your name in there, and would you ask

  697. yourself that question as of God was asking you to you?

  698. Because maybe you're feeling, like, you're just a lump of

  699. clay. But when you're in the hands of

  700. the master Potter, Shaping into something so beautiful.

  701. He doesn't make mistakes, he knows what he's doing the clay,

  702. cannot ask the porter. What are you doing?

  703. Instead it stays pliable and yielded to him.

  704. Remember, what I was talking about is surrendered worship.

  705. That's what it looks like. Giving yourself into his hands.

  706. He's shaping you reshaping you as he sees fit.

  707. It's very important in order to come alive to the treasure

  708. within us that we allow him to shape.

  709. Our Earthen vessels. The second passage that I want

  710. to read for, you is Matthew 13 verse 44.

    Matthew 13:44

  711. The Kingdom of Heaven is like treasure hidden in a field.

  712. When a man found it, he hid it again and then in his Joy went

  713. and sold all he had and bought that field.

  714. Matthew 13:44, it's part of a whole bunch of things that Jesus

    Matthew 13:44

  715. is teaching on, but it's lovely because it says the Kingdom of

  716. Heaven is like a treasure. This man who found it, who

  717. discovered it, he did it again, sold everything he had and

  718. bought the entire field. I want to ask you if Jesus is

  719. the treasure in your life. Would you do anything and

  720. everything? To hold on to him.

  721. What are you willing to give up? In order to pursue this

  722. relationship with Jesus, he is the treasure within us.

  723. We are Treasures. Yes, but he's the greatest

  724. treasure within us. Where is your treasure today?

  725. Where is your heart pointed towards?

  726. What is the angle that your heart is taken?

  727. Maybe it's in having perfect health.

  728. Maybe it's having in having this amazing marriage, maybe it's in

  729. having well-behaved children. Maybe it's in in dating, you

  730. know, someone that, you know, just fits your every

  731. requirement. I don't know where your heart is

  732. tilted and leaning towards. But what if I asked you that

  733. your heart repositions itself to Race.

  734. The greatest Treasure of your life because I can tell you

  735. this, for many years of pursuing, Jesus of holding onto

  736. him, like, you know, like nothing else.

  737. He's the greatest Treasure of your life.

  738. If you are in bed right now, he still your treasure.

  739. If your body has been failing, you repeatedly, he's your

  740. treasure. If the one that you married

  741. walked out and left you hanging, he is your treasure.

  742. If you're a young child who's feeling abandoned and neglected,

  743. Jesus is your treasure and not just any Jesus, this is the

  744. resurrected Jesus or Risen Savior.

  745. He's so powerful, his power is at work in you and so you don't

  746. have to live, like you're powerless, you don't have to

  747. walk through life, like a zombie because you're not, you have the

  748. resurrection power of Christ in you.

  749. So will you speak out in faith? Will you strengthen your heart?

  750. And will you keep looking at the Eternal?

  751. Don't stop. Don't stop by looking at

  752. something. Temporal and losing sight of

  753. what has to be done. Look for the Eternal God.

  754. What is my eternal purpose? Help me fulfill that here on

  755. Earth. Can we pray together?

  756. Father, I just thank you that with you Lord.

  757. Nothing stays the same that your honor in the process of

  758. reworking as a working on us of shaping us.

  759. Into the best version of ourselves.

  760. But grateful that Lord you take us ordinary Earthen pots.

  761. That you deposit, your holy spirit's power in us, that the

  762. power of the Risen Christ within us.

  763. So that we are truly treasure. Filled my pray for anyone right

  764. now, who has been just sleepwalking through life, who's

  765. just been aimlessly. Wandering through their lives

  766. without purpose without Direction, without a perspective

  767. of why they were created. I pray that today that would

  768. change. I pray that their lens a change.

  769. I pray that they will wear the lens of Eternity.

  770. I pray that Lord if they tongue has been tied down in fear.

  771. And depression and discouragement.

  772. It'll be released to speak out in faith.

  773. I pray, a lot of their hearts have been weak and has melted,

  774. because of the kind of things. They've endured I prayed today.

  775. You would strengthen their hearts?

  776. That you would make it Ironclad, love, strengthened for the road

  777. ahead, that it will be softened towards your touch towards your

  778. direction, but will be toughened up Lord, so that it will not

  779. melt, it will not break. I pray that you would help us

  780. Lord, we are the clay. You Are The Potter.

  781. We surrender ourselves to you. We thank you, Jesus, that you

  782. are the greatest treasure in the world.

  783. We thank you that we can just come to you.

  784. As we are knowing that with you, we too are so valuable.

  785. We too are so loved and we too can live with the same power

  786. that was exerted. When you rose from the dead, we

  787. thank you and we love you in Jesus name we pray.

  788. Amen. Amen.
