  1. Hi, and welcome to the. We're Zion sermon podcast.

  2. We are a local church based here in Chennai, India, we are so

  3. glad you are with us and hope that this will encourage

  4. Inspire. And, instead of fresh faith in

  5. you, we are doing a short series on prayer as we head into the

  6. season of Pentecost prayer. Cannot be the Christine's back.

  7. Her plan, but our soul option in the times that we live in the

  8. spiritual battle around us is real and without a vibrant and

  9. Spirit-filled prayer life. We will not make it out alive.

  10. Christine shares with us today on how we can Model A Prayer

  11. life on Jesus and pray as he did.

  12. We pray that as you listen in that, you get excited about all

  13. the ways in which you connect with God through prayer.

  14. Hi certificate. Joy to teach.

  15. Again on prayer. It's not something that we have

  16. figured out completely something.

  17. We're learning along the way and we have been excited to bring

  18. you along on this journey of learning about prayer together.

  19. We looked at how prayer helps us see.

  20. The Unseen, we looked at how we can use scripture to pray and

  21. engage in spiritual warfare. And today we're going to be

  22. looking at how we can create the Jesus way.

  23. In the way Jesus taught us the instructions, he gave us about

  24. prayer and how he murdered prayer for us.

  25. That's we will be looking at today.

  26. I was reading this story, I'm not sure if it's true, but I was

  27. reading about this young woman. She was a single mom.

  28. Her little one was at home with the babysitter she was at work.

  29. When she gets a call from her babysitter and says, man, the

  30. child, the child is sick, she's running a high temperature.

  31. Can you go to the pharmacy, pick up some medicines and then bring

  32. it home for us. So, the mother of frantically

  33. shuts down, work gets into our car, goes to the pharmacy, picks

  34. up the medicine when she comes back to the car.

  35. She realizes that the keys were locked.

  36. Say the cop. She doesn't know what to do.

  37. She called the babysitter and says, this is my predicament.

  38. I don't know what to do is babysit.

  39. I give her an idea. She says, look around if you

  40. find an old Hangar, you know, a clothes hanger, if you find it

  41. anywhere, use that and open the car door.

  42. So the lady says, okay, if she cuts the call, she's asking God,

  43. lord. I don't know where I want to

  44. find a clothes hanger. Help me she turns around and in

  45. the gravel there's an old clothes hanger broken and just

  46. lying there. So she takes It and she's

  47. looking at it, but then she realize she's so grateful that,

  48. you know, how prayer was immediately answered.

  49. But then she realizes she doesn't know what to do with the

  50. clothes hanger, she's live. What am I going to do with this?

  51. How do I open a door with this? And then she says, Lord help me.

  52. I don't know how to use this, to open the door.

  53. She finishes praying that prayer.

  54. When a biker comes into the driveway, he's an old biker.

  55. He's got a scarf on his head, doesn't look very well.

  56. Kept looks a bit Haggard, and he drives in and stands beside her.

  57. And then she Just wondering still what to do when he gets

  58. off the bike and his mom, can I help you?

  59. And she says, sir, I'm stuck here, my child is at home, my

  60. keys are in the car and I don't know what to do with this

  61. Hangar, and he says, don't worry, I'll help you.

  62. He gets off the bike, straightens out, the hangar uses

  63. it to open the car and gets her in when she gets in.

  64. She said, sir, thank you so much.

  65. You must be such a good man to stop and help me in such a way.

  66. And he says laughingly. He says, Mom, I'm not a good

  67. man, I'm an ex-convict. I just Just got out of jail

  68. today. I was put in jail for robbing a

  69. car. And so the woman looks up to

  70. heaven and says, Thank You. Lord, you sent me a professional

  71. while. The story is funny.

  72. The truth is that prayer Works, whether it does something in the

  73. Heavenly Realms. It does something in US.

  74. It creates room for hope it, it moves us into partnership with

  75. God, and I believe that as we learn to pray, the Jesus way, it

  76. will shift how we look at prayer.

  77. No longer will we look at it as a drudgery something.

  78. We have. To do with check checklist.

  79. But instead of we come into it with joy and with hope, when we

  80. look at the gospels and how Jesus lived on earth, we find

  81. that he laid down some basic principles about being the first

  82. principle he laid down was that we must be persistent in prayer.

  83. When you look at Luke 11 verses 9 to 10, this is what he says.

    Luke 11:9–10

  84. So I see it, you ask and it will be given to you seek and you

  85. will find knock and the door will be open to you for everyone

  86. who asks receives He's the one who seeks finds and to the one

  87. who knocks the door will be opened Luke, 18:1 7 and 8 says

  88. Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they

  89. should always pray and not give up to cut a long story short,

  90. that was the parable of the persistent Widow.

  91. He says this woman goes to an unjust judge and keeps begging

  92. him for justice and he doesn't care.

  93. He doesn't bother. But after prolonged period of

  94. time, the judge who is unrighteous says, how how Me was

  95. an unrighteous judge. Not give this woman Justice, she

  96. is coming and bugging me, night and day.

  97. And this is what Jesus says, will not God.

  98. Bring about Justice for his chosen ones who cry out to him

  99. day and night. Will he keep putting them off?

  100. I tell you, he will see that they get Justice and quickly.

  101. What have you been asking? God for repetitively, have you

  102. been like me many times? I think God, I sound like a

  103. spoiled child. Asking you for the same thing

  104. again and again and again. But when you read this, you

  105. realize he said keep on Asking keep seeking, keep knocking.

  106. Don't stop. Our heavenly father is not like

  107. us Earthly, parents, who, when a child asks us for something

  108. repeatedly? We just see no blanket know.

  109. He loves that we come into that place of familiarity with him

  110. and that we can keep coming to him and asking him for what we

  111. need. Don't get put off by by, you

  112. know, the fact that you're reputa to be asking him for

  113. something Jesus said, keep asking, it's okay, what have you

  114. been asking him for? Have you given up on?

  115. And things. It's okay to come again and

  116. again with the same request to the father, it's completely.

  117. Okay, he loves that. You would consider him worthy of

  118. bringing that request again. And again, the second principle

  119. that Jesus talked about was prayer, not being a publicity

  120. stunt, he lived in a time and the Pharisees, the teachers of

  121. the law describes in others, or walking around, they're flowing,

  122. robes and and forcing people to listen to them and demanded

  123. respect. And also, So upgraded, their

  124. prayers, as a way of, you know, attracting attention and praise

  125. Matthew 6, verses 5 to 8. He says when you pray, do not be

    Matthew 6:5–8

  126. like the Hypocrites for. They love to pray standing in

  127. the synagogues and on the street corner to be seen by others.

  128. Truly I tell you they have received their reward in full

  129. but when you pray go into your room close the door and pray to

  130. your father who is unseen, then your father who sees what is

  131. done in secret will reward you and when you pray do not keep on

  132. babbling. Pagans for they think they will

  133. be heard because of their many words.

  134. Do not be like them for your father.

  135. Knows what you need before. You ask for them, prayer is

  136. about growing in our intimate relationship with God is really

  137. not, it being an oratorical competition, the greatest words

  138. I can use how I can embellish Mike request and ask God how I

  139. can show others about this relationship know it's such a

  140. private Pursuit and it's really about pursuing the heart of God

  141. listening for God's voice, presenting our request to him.

  142. It's that simple. So he says, don't portray this

  143. image that. You know, you're praying so much

  144. in another reference, he talks about when you are fasting put

  145. oil on your head and look normal, don't you know, make

  146. yourself look so somber and that people ask you to go and fasting

  147. and praying. No, he says do it.

  148. It's part of your life. It's part of your routine.

  149. Let it not be something that you used to shove it down.

  150. Someone's throat that you are holier than them Pride, cannot

  151. Being the fact that we break, our pride must be in the one, we

  152. pray to called rights of anyone will boast in anything, let him

  153. boast in the Lord. Our pride should not be in our

  154. prayer life. Cried should be the one.

  155. We pray to the fact that he's a prayer answering God that he's a

  156. listening. God, the third thing is that

  157. this is something that Jesus himself did in John 17.

  158. You see how Jesus prayed for himself?

  159. Then he prayed for his disciples and then he prayed for the ones

  160. who would be saved in the future.

  161. And I believe that we must pray for ourselves before praying for

  162. others. So often it's easy to, you know,

  163. be this intercessor and paying for everybody and all the needs

  164. are just great but have you prayed for yourself?

  165. Have you prayed the scriptures over yourself?

  166. Have you asked God to reveal things about your life, but your

  167. family to you first, it's okay to pray for yourself.

  168. Especially women mothers were so caught up in praying for our

  169. husbands, our children, our parents, In-laws.

  170. We forget to pray for ourselves. It's important that we cover

  171. ourselves, Jesus himself, when he before he prayed for his

  172. disciples, he tells he talks to God about himself.

  173. He says, I've done all that you've asked me to do be

  174. glorified in my life and I wonder how different up realized

  175. we would begin. It's not a selfish thing to

  176. begin by praying for yourself. Pray for yourself first and then

  177. pray for others. Ask God to reveal any sin in

  178. your life. This is something that I've

  179. started doing before, I pray for anyone else before.

  180. I asked God for Revelation about any issues in our life.

  181. I first asked me, what shoe things show me things in my life

  182. and he never fails to disappoint.

  183. There's always stuff that he wants to reveal about me that he

  184. wants to change in me. So, would encourage you that you

  185. would first. Pray for yourself.

  186. Another important principle is that you must pray in humility

  187. before the father, but you must walk in authority after that.

  188. If you look at Jesus, he spent much time playing in solitude.

  189. It would say the disciples probably Home, but then he would

  190. go into a solitary place, he would go into the hills and he

  191. would pray and he spent a lot of time and Brendan come back in

  192. the morning. And through the day, he operated

  193. in power, he drove out demons and heal the sick.

  194. He taught Power Pack 2 days. But the Deep basic thing about.

  195. That was a lot of prayer. He was so humble before the

  196. Lord, before his father, he kept connecting with him.

  197. But the offshoot of that was walking in authority and power

  198. Maki. 8:33 says this when Jesus turned and looked at his

  199. disciples, he rebuked, Peter get behind me.

  200. Satan. He said you do not have in mind

  201. concerns of God, but merely human concerns.

  202. Jesus did not rebuke Peter. He rebuked the one who is using

  203. Peter as a mouthpiece Authority power.

  204. He didn't cower before negativity, he didn't Flinch.

  205. He didn't turn away. He battled it straight on.

  206. Mark for 39. He got up and rebuked the And

  207. then said to the waist quiet be still, then the wind died down

  208. and it was completely calm. If you've noticed that a lot of

  209. times when you've been in prayer for a bit of time, you finish

  210. prayer and you get back to regular life, cooking or

  211. cleaning or back to work back to calls, you will find that there

  212. will be some upheaval that happened, some misunderstanding

  213. and the immediate reaction of ours as humans is to react to

  214. rather than respond to probably argue to get triggered.

  215. But the important thing to remember is that when we finish

  216. praying and Up out of that prayer, closet or prayer room,

  217. or the prayer bench, we now are clothed with the righteousness

  218. of Christ, and we have the authority that he gave.

  219. We have a delegated authority. We are walking in power and

  220. authority that he has given to us.

  221. And we should not give room for the things that the enemy throws

  222. at us to pull us down. I remember this teaching by John

  223. and Lisa bevere day. They had, they have four Sons

  224. today their grandparents, but this happened in the early days

  225. of their marriage and this is what they said, Lisa would say,

  226. sometimes the Atmosphere in the home of diesel charge them.

  227. The children will be out of control.

  228. She and John will be having a lot of arguments getting in each

  229. others face and soon she learned that the authority of the

  230. spiritual atmosphere in the home, lay in them.

  231. So what she would do is when she sensed that upheaval and that,

  232. you know, they were all being quarrelsome and fidgety, she

  233. would bind every part of Darkness.

  234. I was working against them. She would rebuke it in the name

  235. of Jesus. You think?

  236. Calm down. We're going to, we are, we have

  237. the piece of Christ in this home.

  238. She would declare the promises of God, she would rebuke the

  239. enemy she would say, within half an hour, the entire atmosphere

  240. in the house would change. And I think that we need to

  241. remember this that we have, all power.

  242. All authority has been given to us to trample over snakes and

  243. scorpions. That is what Jesus gave us that

  244. is what God, the Father gave him that Authority and he delegated

  245. that to us today. You and I are not without that

  246. Authority. So we dare not be timid after we

  247. finished praying. Walk in that Authority, claim

  248. that Authority as yours declare, that authority to the spiritual

  249. realm. So when we look at this again

  250. couple of principles Persistence in prayer.

  251. Phase of prayer is not a publicity stunt.

  252. Pray for yourself before praying for others, pray and then walk

  253. in power and authority. Those are a few principles now.

  254. We're going to look at how According To Jesus.

  255. We need to know what to pray for.

  256. You know, you might ask me, is it okay to pray for anything and

  257. everything? Absolutely, it's completely.

  258. Okay, Jesus himself said, ask God for anything and everything

  259. in my name. So the first thing that we

  260. should pray for is everything. Isn't that amazing?

  261. It can be from the smallest to the biggest thing.

  262. John 16:23-24 says this in that day, you will no longer ask me

    John 16:23–24

  263. anything. Very truly.

  264. I tell you, my father will give you whatever you ask in my name.

  265. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name, ask and you

  266. will receive. And your joy will be complete

  267. many times. We take this literally and we

  268. forget a very important aspect you and I should have come to a

  269. place of Jesus being the Lord of all We have to have declared

  270. with our mouth. That Jesus is God, and we have

  271. to allow him to be the master of allies.

  272. And then this promise comes into effect, which means I can ask

  273. him for anything the wildest Things dream.

  274. Scary pres dream, huge press, bigger than you ever imagined

  275. and believe that in Jesus name, he will grant it, according to

  276. his perfect will according to steaming, this is what c.s.

  277. Lewis writes. He says, perhaps, as those do

  278. not turn to God in Petty try. Mi will have no habit or such

  279. resort to help them when the Great Trials come.

  280. So those who have not learned to ask him for childish.

  281. Things will have less Readiness to ask him for great ones.

  282. We must not be too high-minded. I fancy we may sometimes be

  283. deterred from small prayers by a sense of our own dignity rather

  284. than of gods so you can absolutely ask God for the most

  285. silly small things. And it said Stuff.

  286. It comes into this place of having a confidence in a God who

  287. cares for the largest things of our life and the smallest

  288. details as well? Ask him for anything asking for

  289. everything. The second thing that we

  290. According To Jesus should ask for a pray, for is more of the

  291. Holy Spirit. Sometimes we're so content with

  292. the and level of anointing. We have, you know, we have the

  293. Holy Spirit, he helps me, he AIDS me along my way.

  294. But he says, in Luke 11 11 to 13 is what he says.

  295. Each of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a

  296. snake instead. Or if he asks for an egg, we

  297. give him a scorpion if you then though you are evil.

  298. Know how to give good gifts to your children.

  299. How much more will your father in heaven?

  300. Give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him a lot of times we

  301. think this is about just asking and receiving he's actually

  302. talking about the gift of the Holy Spirit.

  303. When you ask this is a prayer, he will never reject.

  304. This is a prayer, you never deny.

  305. He To give you more of the Holy Spirit.

  306. Have you been watching how others serve in church?

  307. And you think Lord, I don't have any gifts, I don't have anything

  308. to serve you with ask him, ask the Holy Spirit to pour himself

  309. into you so that you begin to operate in the gifting of the

  310. Holy Spirit. Maybe you're saying, I don't

  311. have my life, is bearing food. I don't know if I'm impacting

  312. anyone else. Ask the Holy Spirit, help me

  313. bear fruit so that others would taste and see that the Lord is

  314. good. Ask for more of the Holy Spirit.

  315. Don't be shy about it don't be timid.

  316. Don't think well I'm not you know I have such a horrid

  317. passed. Why would the Holy Spirit flood

  318. my life? No, he's not a respecter of men,

  319. he comes when you ask he is given in abundance.

  320. So ask for the Holy Spirit. Jesus also spoke in Mark 13.

  321. He said talks about the end times in detail and a lot of

  322. times we get caught up in this apocalyptic scripture.

  323. We get caught up in all the end times.

  324. The truth is, we're living in the end times.

  325. You read the newspaper, you know, we're living in the end

  326. times. And very clearly Jesus in the

  327. whole teaching in Mark 13, he explains to us.

  328. How we must pray that this the apocalypse as such, the whole

  329. Armageddon and all of that would not happen in winter.

  330. He's a spray, doesn't happen in winter and oh goodness, help

  331. God, help the, the nursing mothers and the pregnant women.

  332. So he's predicting and telling us, there is going to be bad.

  333. The India's are bad, if, if you watch the news and you see Ends

  334. which are being torn by Civil War by Strife by War.

  335. You see, the suffering because of natural calamities, you know,

  336. that we are in the end times, you know, that Jesus is return

  337. is imminent, but Jesus, clearly asks us to pray for endurance in

  338. the end times. He says when the son of man

  339. returns, will he find Faith? Which means we'll my faith.

  340. Have endured till my time to go home.

  341. Arrives endurance. Pray for endurance.

  342. Don't take it for granted that you can end your pray for it.

  343. He says He asked you to pray for a Rich Harvest of souls.

  344. In these times, we are living in the time.

  345. When there is the Harvest is plentiful, the workers are few,

  346. you can ask him, he says, pray to the Lord of the Harvest so

  347. that he will send out workers into the Harvest field.

  348. Matthew 9, 37 and 38, are you praying for more workers?

  349. Are you praying that you will be prepared for the second coming?

  350. A lot of times, we are pushing the content of the second

  351. coming, but you and I we need to look at ourselves nor am I Where

  352. if you were to come tonight, if my number is called tonight, am

  353. I ready for you? Will I have to enter Paradise,

  354. will I be with you for eternity? Pray for preparedness, pray that

  355. we want following. Jesus himself said, pray for the

  356. end times. Pray that you will have

  357. endurance. Pray that they will be a Rich

  358. Harvest, pray that you will be prepared.

  359. She repeatedly talks about the parable of the virgins and so

  360. many other. You know, this is the wicked

  361. servant. It's all about preparedness and

  362. preparedness comes in our Life, when I'm playing the Lord will

  363. show me areas in my life, where I've backslidden, where I've

  364. gone Wayward, he was show me areas where I need to tighten

  365. up. My God, he will show me areas

  366. where I'm not been alert, he will prepare me crave for that.

  367. Pray for that. Jesus also asked us to pray that

  368. we will not fall into temptation, Luke 22:42 on

    Luke 22:42

  369. reaching the place, the Mount of Olives.

  370. He said, pray that you will not fall into temptation and this is

  371. fun. Me because she leaves them.

  372. A couple of them out in the Garden of Gethsemane and he he's

  373. heading in, he staying outside and he tells them don't fall

  374. into temptation. And what do they do?

  375. They fall asleep and if this is, if you're someone like me, the

  376. minute you sit to pray is when you feel the most sleepy, when

  377. you sit to pray, you remember all the things you've not done

  378. bigger issues than that? It is required of us.

  379. We are not superhuman. I often tell this to my

  380. children, when, you know, they are acting like, you know, Other

  381. people have greater sins in their life and they are

  382. completely. Okay, I see, you know what?

  383. None of us are Saints. Here we are all sinners.

  384. Who have been saved by grace? We are sinners at the.

  385. Bottom line is, this we are sinners, but because of Jesus,

  386. we are saved. And so, let's not think that we

  387. can get through this life without praying to protect us

  388. from Temptation. We need God's protection from

  389. Temptation, we will fail. There will be times when we we

  390. miss them. Mark, so this is a pre-emptive

  391. prancing Lord. Keep me from Temptation, Lord.

  392. I'm hitting my middle-aged, keep me from a midlife crisis.

  393. Let me not mess up. Protect my reputation, protect

  394. my family, let us not fall into any Financial traps.

  395. Let us not be immoral in any way guard.

  396. My eyes lat, these our prayers. We can pray, because Jesus said,

  397. pray that you will not fall into temptation.

  398. So these are the things that Jesus says, we Just pray for.

  399. He says, ask me for anything in my name.

  400. He says, pray for more of the spirit.

  401. He praised for his prey for the end times that you will have

  402. endurance. He says, pray that you will not

  403. fall into temptation. The most important thing though,

  404. is that Jesus himself. God, In the Flesh modeled

  405. prayer. It was not like he could have

  406. been above it, right. He's God.

  407. He, every person he touched and he was someone he created, he

  408. knew everything about them before.

  409. They open their mouth, he knew what was in their mind.

  410. He created the Earth, He Walked on.

  411. Why did he have to pray? He was God himself.

  412. Hundred percent got 100% man. He had power oozing out of him.

  413. Why did he need to pray? I believe that he modeled prayer

  414. so that we would see how much we need it.

  415. If you're thinking you can get by without prayer.

  416. One liner is good a day. I would urge you that you would

  417. step up your prayer life and see how God changes your life.

  418. See how God starts moving things that you can actually visibly.

  419. See, does God protect us? Even if we don't pray.

  420. Yes, that's his goodness and Grace, but he loves When we come

  421. to him and ask, he loves that, we would actually take the time

  422. to sit there and bear our hearts to him and I believe that Jesus

  423. modeled three kinds of prayers and I believe we can take, you

  424. know, step into that Mahdi and try it for ourselves.

  425. The first kind of prayer style that he modeled was one of

  426. Thanksgiving Matthew 11:25-26. It says, at that time Jesus

    Matthew 11:25–26

  427. says, I praise you father, Lord of Heaven and Earth because

  428. you've hidden these things from Wise and learned and revealed

  429. them to Little Children. Yes.

  430. Father for this is what you were pleased to do.

  431. A prayer of Thanksgiving openly in front of disciples, many

  432. others. He lives his eyes up to heaven

  433. and thanks his Heavenly Father for the Revelation that he's

  434. granting, the disciples and another couple of occasions when

  435. he fed the 5000 he fed the 4000. It said he looked up to heaven,

  436. he gave thanks and then broke the bread.

  437. And you know what happened? The rest.

  438. It is history. Many were fed, many basketfuls

  439. were left behind, everyone was content.

  440. Jesus modeled Thanksgiving. He was God himself.

  441. Why did he have to thank the father?

  442. I believe he did it, so that we will know how important

  443. Thanksgiving is in our prayer lives.

  444. So often we bring our request and literally it's like a, you

  445. know, truckload become, we dump it on our father's lap, which is

  446. great. We forget to thank him for all

  447. All that he's done. You remember the ten lepers nine

  448. or ten were healed? Nine forgot and walked away one.

  449. Return in Jesus himself says, we're in the Ten of you only one

  450. recognized remembered and thanked me for it.

  451. Jesus is surprised at that moment.

  452. She has the thing Thanksgiving shifts.

  453. Everything. When our prayers are about

  454. Thanksgiving, you will start to find.

  455. You has so much to thank God for that.

  456. The petitions actually will decrease in their intensity.

  457. You will start to see that the God who did all of this.

  458. In my life can do this, and more in the current situation.

  459. The one who led me through that red, see through that, Jordan

  460. Will Lead Me. Now as I walk through the

  461. Wilderness, he's not left me. He hasn't changed.

  462. That's what Thanksgiving does. The Apostle Paul writes that we

  463. shouldn't be anxious for anything but in everything by

  464. prayer and petition with Thanksgiving he says make your

  465. requests known to God. And so this is something that

  466. Jesus model, I believe it. I think that Jesus if he did

  467. something, it's good for us to try it out, it's good for us to

  468. model allies on that. And so with, would you and I in

  469. the midst of struggle, in the midst of conflict, if we can

  470. raise up sacrifice of Thanksgiving and praise, it will

  471. shift the entire atmosphere believe that Thanksgiving

  472. confuses the enemy because when he's oppressing us on one side

  473. and we are seeing thank you, Lord.

  474. We believe that you're doing something good.

  475. Even in this situation, I I believe that you are unchanging.

  476. The enemies confused. He said, what are they doing?

  477. I'm trying to defeat them. I'm trying to make them feel

  478. despair, but this person is thanking God.

  479. I don't get it. So it's a very effective form of

  480. warfare prayer to just keep singing your praise to keep

  481. speaking out in Thanksgiving. We are unbeatable when we are

  482. thankful, remember that you? And I, we are unbeatable.

  483. When we are thankful. The second kind of prayer that

  484. Jesus modeled was the element. Matthew 26 verse 39 says, going

    Matthew 26:39

  485. a little farther. He fell with his face to the

  486. ground and prayed my father. If it is possible, may this cup

  487. be taken from yet, not as I will, but as you will, Matthew

    Matthew 27:46

  488. 27 verse 46 says about three in the afternoon.

  489. Jesus cried out in a loud voice, he like Eli Lama sabachthani

  490. which means my God, my God, why have you forsaken me?

  491. Element is not a complaint. It is a rending of our heart is

  492. breaking it open and saying god this is my deepest wound.

  493. You saw what this person did to me?

  494. You saw what are speaking about me?

  495. Lord you're hearing it Lord, I've been through so much why

  496. this additional burden also It's breaking my heart wide open so

  497. that he can see every wound as Roy.

  498. It is as it is, it's saying I will not put up a show with you

  499. God, I will not pretend to be okay, I will not cover it up

  500. with well-shaped words. For I will weep before you and

  501. say Lord help me Lord meet me and was cam says this element is

  502. a cry of belief. In a good god, a God who has his

  503. dear to our hearts. Oh God who transfigures the

  504. Glean to Beauty complaint is the bitter Hound of unbelief.

  505. If, in any benevolent, God In This Moment, a distrust in the

  506. love of the Father's Heart. It's not amazing.

  507. It's a distrust in the love, beat of the Father's Heart.

  508. Bitterness complaint is different element is coming

  509. before him naked, and raw and bleeding.

  510. And saying, God, this is me, I don't know why it is happening.

  511. Help me. It's like job sitting there.

  512. Broken pottery rubbing his skin in pain lost all his children

  513. lost his property and seeing Lord help me.

  514. I thought I was doing the right thing.

  515. What happened God? That's what lament is Jesus.

  516. Modeled it on that cross. Jesus, modeled it in Gethsemane.

  517. He said, Lord, help me if it is possible.

  518. Take this cup. Jesus, again was human and God,

  519. He humbly submitted to his father's will and yet and yet he

  520. lamented at that moment on the cross crying out for all to hear

  521. God, why have you forsaken me? You and I have permission to

  522. lament Christian in our Journeys individually.

  523. We are allowed to lament. It's an important part of our

  524. beliefs. Don't think that, you know, you

  525. always have to have a tough exterior and a tough front.

  526. You can let down your guard with the make Sure of your soul, you

  527. can do it. The third type type of prayer

  528. that Jesus modded was a prayer of Declaration.

  529. Mark, 7 verses 33 to 35. It says, after he took him aside

    Mark 7:33–35

  530. away from the crowd, Jesus, put his fingers into the man's ears.

  531. Then he spit and touched the Man's Tongue.

  532. She looked up to heaven and earth.

  533. The deep sigh, said to him, if after, which means be opened at

  534. this, the man's ears were opened His tongue was loosened and he

  535. began to speak plainly, just one word.

  536. Jesus just made a declaration be opened and it opened Luke 22.

  537. Luke 23 verse 34 says Jesus said, father forgive them for.

    Luke 23:34

  538. They do not know what they are doing.

  539. And they divided up his clothes by casting lots another

  540. declaration and this declaration when it was being made was what

  541. set into motion. All the things that God was

  542. going to do through that moment. It was because of that,

  543. sacrifice a perfect sinless sacrifice on the cross that

  544. every man woman and child sins were forgiven, Jesus made a

  545. declaration of prayer. He declared a prophetic

  546. declaration, over the situation, which changed everything as we

  547. went, there is a time for each of us in our prayer lives to

  548. move from petitioning to declaring.

  549. Sometimes. We're always you You some nice

  550. vehicle, always groveling and asking God for something.

  551. And honestly, a petition is conversation.

  552. It seems what I need this. What?

  553. What do you think? I need, right?

  554. It's not really groveling. But there is a time when you

  555. must move from petitioning to declaring, what is it that you

  556. believe God has told you to declare in the season, but I

  557. believe that health is my portion.

  558. I believe that I'm going to succeed in what I put my hands

  559. to Lord. I believe that you want to

  560. stablish the work of my hands. What are you declaring?

  561. Trudy, you need to be very sensitive to the shift that will

  562. happen. When the Holy Spirit, will say

  563. stop asking declare, the victory is already, has declared it.

  564. Now, I have to give you a statutory warning, it doesn't

  565. happen all the time. So this is not some name it and

  566. claim it kind of thing. No, this is something that the

  567. holy spirit will lead you to do. There will be times when you

  568. must keep asking seeking knocking but there is a time

  569. when there will be a shift and the Holy Spirit seen of declare

  570. believe it that is already yours, ask for it.

  571. As I close, I want to just close with.

  572. What Jesus said, is a very pivotal moment.

  573. Jesus had the triumphal entry, he came into Jerusalem and after

  574. coming into Jerusalem, he comes into the temple, and he sees the

  575. money changers, and the guys was merchants, and all of them, and

  576. he creates a whip, he chases them out and he says Matthew 21.

  577. Verse 32 says, it is written. He said to them.

  578. My house will be called a House of Prayer, but you are making it

  579. a den of robbers. Is Jesus was zealous for his

  580. church? There's there's a verse which is

  581. referenced in this place. It says, Zeal for your house

  582. consumes me, the disciples remembered it, and they knew

  583. that that's what was driving. Jesus is actions.

  584. It was our anger, it was not frustration.

  585. It was a Zeal for his father's house.

  586. And today, I want to leave this with you.

  587. Jesus looks at the body of Christ today, you know each of

  588. you you can be part of some church, right?

  589. Where you're at. You're part of me has Ian here.

  590. This is a house of prayer for too long.

  591. We have looked at the church as something that should feed, our

  592. consumeristic means, or you know, what, I go there because I

  593. need to make connections for business.

  594. I go there because I need that medical.

  595. If I don't get the miracle in one year I'm moving church or

  596. they need to cater to my child's.

  597. Every need they need to do what I can do for my child.

  598. So often we put demands on the local churches but this is Jesus

  599. his dream for his church. He says it would be called a

  600. House of Prayer. Care for all nations.

  601. I want to ask you, will you look at your church, the body of

  602. Christ with a simple view and say, got out.

  603. I want to step in there, knowing it's a House of Prayer.

  604. I want to go in there. So that along with other

  605. believers, other members of the body of Christ, we raise our

  606. voices up to you, that I will go there to be an instrument in

  607. your hands because the minute, we look at it, through the lens

  608. of Jesus, how Jesus looked at the church.

  609. It changes what our expectations.

  610. Of church need to be instead of putting that Demand on your

  611. leaders or you know what they play those preachers empty

  612. sermons. I don't get anything from.

  613. What if you started praying for your leaders.

  614. What if you say, you know what, there's no events in this

  615. church, super boring, I have nothing to do the whole week.

  616. What if you start asking or Lord, help me to help them on

  617. their weekends? Give me a passion for Souls.

  618. What if you start to look at church, the way Jesus looked at

  619. the church. At it's a house of prayer for

  620. all nations. As we close, I want to pray the

  621. prayer with you, that Jesus taught his disciples and he

  622. taught it to them. And I learned that it begins.

  623. He says, our father, he hasn't seen my father, so it was not a

  624. personal prayer is prayer for the corporate Collective body

  625. and he tell him John taught his disciples, Lord teach us And I

  626. am, like I said, I'm all for anything.

  627. Jesus taught, we must follow it. And so, I want you, if you are

  628. at home, if you would like to kneel down, you like to stand

  629. up, you are going to believe that you are connected

  630. intrinsically to the rest of the body of Christ on an isolated

  631. island, you are connected to the body of Christ.

  632. Would you pray this? Lord's Prayer with me and as we

  633. play it, can we ask that his will be done for the church that

  634. his will be done for individuals and the church that he Would

  635. keep us from temptation as his chosen ones.

  636. That he would set us apart that he would provide us all that we

  637. need. Can you make that your prayer?

  638. Let's play This Together. Our Father in heaven, Hallowed

  639. Be Your Name. Your Kingdom Come your will be

  640. done on Earth as it is in heaven.

  641. Give us today our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we

  642. also have forgiven Our debtors and lead us not into temptation,

  643. but Deliver Us from the evil one.

  644. In Jesus name we pray, amen. Amen, God bless you.

  645. I pray that as you continue the rest of the year, that prayer

  646. will become a very part of your DNA that you will not stop being

  647. persistent, that you will pray for everything that you would

  648. believe God to come through for you.
