  1. We welcome you to the VI Zion Sermon Podcast.

  2. We are a church based out of Chennai, India.

  3. We are thrilled that you tuned in today and hope that you will

  4. be refreshed, revived and energized by what you hear.

  5. Our desire is that you will live life with a renewed sense of

  6. purpose that stems from a vibrant faith in Jesus.

  7. The year 2025 is 1 where we will be positioned by God to possess

  8. our promise. We start a new sermon series

  9. called Rekindled where we look closer at our own lives and ask

  10. the Holy Spirit to revive and restore things that have gone

  11. dormant in the dry seasons of our souls.

  12. We pray that this series will help you dive deeper into

  13. yourself and see where you need more of God.

  14. What a joy it is to be in the. House of God, Amen.

  15. How many of you are? Thrilled to be here, yes?

  16. We all made it against all odds so.

  17. Brace be to Jesus for that. So like we just saw.

  18. Our new series is called Rekindled on the Heels of the

  19. Pentecost Sunday. Where we were filled by the fire

  20. of God. We're now going to be.

  21. Staying. Rekindled.

  22. Because what happens with the? Flame is it tends to die down

  23. and we noticed like when we started preparing for this, we

  24. saw in our own lives. That our faith.

  25. Hope and love had kind of. Started to slow down.

  26. And we felt like God was reminding us that I want to

  27. rekindle it. And so that's we're kind of

  28. dragging you guys along for the. Ride as well.

  29. So today. We're going to be looking.

  30. It's actually a two-part thing. We're doing Part 1 today.

  31. Which is called a fertile faith. We look last, last.

  32. Week from the life of Daniel and his friends.

  33. At what it looks like for. Faith to be tried in a fire,

  34. right? But today we're going to be

  35. looking at what it means to be. To have a fertile.

  36. Faith. And isn't it ironic?

  37. Just below us is a fertility clinic.

  38. So all of us have it up to here what what fertility is.

  39. But I want to look at a different analogy today.

  40. OK, we're going to be looking at.

  41. Last week, Geshum talked about us being like trees.

  42. Planted and justice Recently I was I'm always up on my terrace

  43. every evening. But so I have this.

  44. Envy, a holy envy. You should say of.

  45. My neighbour's garden OK. So we have a dog.

  46. So we cannot have a proper garden.

  47. We converted it fully to stone and so that, you know, she

  48. doesn't get sick rolling around in the mud.

  49. But my neighbor has the mud and the, you know, the whole.

  50. Setup like the way the builders gave it to us.

  51. And she's got an amazing garden. Her plants lean over into my

  52. yard. And I love it, love it.

  53. But there's always this thing of God, what's wrong with me?

  54. Why are my potted plants so lame compared to her three banana

  55. trees and her 10 hibiscus plants and the trumpet flowers and this

  56. and that. So I went to the terrace this

  57. week and I was standing on the terrace and this is the view

  58. that I got. I want you.

  59. Just to play that for us, it's just a short clip I took.

  60. So this is a view from the terrace.

  61. That's Auntie's yard, and this is mine, right?

  62. The noise that you hear. Is the STP.

  63. Running in her yard. So we all have STP.

  64. Connection sewage treatment plants, the water comes the

  65. water has more microbes in it so.

  66. Therefore the water adds to the fertility.

  67. So for like the past. Seven years I have consoled

  68. myself by saying don't worry Tina, they have STP running, you

  69. don't. Because you have a.

  70. Dog, you can't put the STP on, therefore the plants.

  71. Are so good, but. When I watched this from up.

  72. Top What is the? Glaring difference between both

  73. our gardens. What is the glaring?

  74. Difference. There's no.

  75. Mud in mind, there's no soil. How on earth am I fighting with

  76. God for me to have good plans? I don't have soil, I have stone.

  77. Right. And so I.

  78. Realised being the amazing botanist I was, obviously it was

  79. not money well spent for my parents.

  80. That the deal breaker was the soil.

  81. It was not the STP. It was not the sunlight because

  82. we all received the same sunlight.

  83. I have access to the same STP. But the problem was in mine the

  84. soil was contained to potted plants was very limited.

  85. It was very structured because I like.

  86. Things in order. I don't.

  87. Like haphazard stuff. And therefore God was reminding

  88. me the issue. Is the soil.

  89. It is in the water. Thank you for that and.

  90. Last week, we looked. At how all of us sometimes feel

  91. we're in an exile, correct? We feel like we're in between.

  92. Things we haven't. Reached yet?

  93. God, I've been. Praying for these things.

  94. It's not been happening. But God is.

  95. Calling us to this place of revitalizing our.

  96. Soil, which is our faith. King Solomon writes this very

  97. interesting thing in Songs of Solomon verse.

  98. Chapter 4, verses 12 to 14. He says a garden.

  99. Enclosed is my sister, my spouse, a spring shut up, a

  100. fountain seal. Your plants are an orchard of

  101. pomegranates with pleasant fruits, fragrant henna with

  102. spike nuts, spike nuts, saffron, calamus, cinnamon.

  103. With all trees of. Frankincense, mores and aloes.

  104. With all the chief spices the bottom.

  105. Line is this he's talking. About Christ and the Bride.

  106. And each of us constitute the bride, correct?

  107. And our. Lives are like gardens.

  108. Our lives are like gardens and the different.

  109. Aspects of our life the different.

  110. Roles and responsibilities are like.

  111. Trees in that life. Trees in that garden.

  112. And the thing that supports that life is the soil of our faith.

  113. Jeremiah says this to those in. Exile, he says in Jeremiah 17.

  114. He says those who trust in the Lord will be.

  115. Like a well watered tree, he says.

  116. Those who don't? Trust in the Lord.

  117. Will be like a desert shrub pushed.

  118. Here and there by the wind. What is the difference?

  119. One is rooted in soil, 1 is not so my.

  120. Question to you is have. You done a faith check.

  121. Have you done like a? Temperature check of your faith

  122. today. Because this is something we

  123. just take for granted. Oh, I'm born in a Christian

  124. home. I became a Christian.

  125. My faith is OK. I believe in Jesus, what more do

  126. I need? But today I want to.

  127. Challenge you to think deeper on your faith.

  128. Is your faith fertile? Is your faith.

  129. Fertile, you know, and the thing about you might ask me, why

  130. should my faith be? Fertile isn't a basic level.

  131. One faith OK only. A fertile faith will birth.

  132. Supernatural things. An ordinary sterile faith won't

  133. do anything. It'll just.

  134. Keep me at believing in Jesus, but God is moving me into

  135. places. Where I need to be?

  136. Believing for the impossible. How many of you are believing

  137. for restoration in the most awkward?

  138. Places. How many of you are believing

  139. for extension of your? Territory so that you can.

  140. Do more in business. These are impossible things, and

  141. only if we. Have faith only if we have

  142. faith. Will be make it?

  143. Will it be even called? For right?

  144. Now I want to leave. With you this faith soil.

  145. Connection before we start, you might think.

  146. This sounds so new. I don't know whether faith and

  147. soil are connected. You know what?

  148. The apostle Paul in Hebrews. 11/1 says faith is the substance

  149. of things hoped. For.

  150. Substance is basically a ground reality.

  151. It's what holds everything together, and we know that

  152. without faith it is impossible. To please God.

  153. So faith is everything our lives are built on as.

  154. Believers Ephesians 2, verse 8 says for by grace.

    Ephesians 2:8

  155. You have been saved. Through faith, which means.

  156. Faith is the baseline. Everything I do or don't.

  157. Do will be based on that faith. And you might think.

  158. Well, it still. Doesn't make the connection

  159. between soil and faith. Let's go to what Jesus?

  160. Taught on this Mark, chapter 4, verses 26 to 29.

    Mark 4:26–29

  161. He's teaching a parable. He says it's the parable of the

  162. growing seed, verse 26. He also.

  163. Said this is what the. Kingdom of God is like a man

  164. scatters seed on the ground, night and day, whether he.

  165. Sleeps or get up the. Seed sprouts and grows, though

  166. he does not know how, all by. Itself, the soil produces grain

  167. first, the stalk. Then the head, then the full

  168. kernel in the head as soon as the grain.

  169. Is ripe. He puts the sickle to it because

  170. the harvest has come. I.

  171. Want you to look at this one line verse 28.

  172. All by itself the soil produces. Grain.

  173. The grain didn't do anything. It was just there.

  174. The soil produces the grain. Now the interesting thing is

  175. grain doesn't start out as grain grain.

  176. Started out as a seed. And what?

  177. Did Jesus teach about seed? It's the word of God.

  178. So when you look at the word. Seed.

  179. It's actually the the the word of God.

  180. That has been planted. But it is only when the soil is

  181. fertile that the seed. Becomes a grain, and when

  182. something is a grain, it's got incredible amount of usage.

  183. You look at the wheat. Fields of the northern northern

  184. parts of India, the northern plains those grains at the right

  185. time, when harvested, are then made into.

  186. Powder, which we use as. Atta Maida, etcetera.

  187. Right if the. Soil is not fertile.

  188. The seed doesn't change into a grain.

  189. It's all in the soil. It's all in the soil.

  190. If the soil is infertile, it can kill.

  191. A seed, but if the soil is fertile.

  192. It will bring so much out of. That seed and so today.

  193. We want to look at Luke. Chapter 8.

    Luke 8 chapter mention

  194. Verse 8. Because Jesus continued his

  195. talk. On fertile soil, he said, still

  196. other seed fell. On fertile soil, this seed.

  197. Grew and produced a crop that was 100 times as much as had

  198. been planted. When he had said this, he called

  199. out. Anyone.

  200. With ears to hear should. Listen and understand what is

  201. he? Talking about this is the

  202. parable of the sore He. Says when it fell on good

  203. fertile soil, it changed into grain.

  204. There was a yield. Is it possible that as followers

  205. of Jesus. Who've had the Salvation

  206. experience? That we can have sterile soil?

  207. Absolutely. Very possible.

  208. We're going to go back to what Jesus himself taught from verse

  209. 11, OK? This is the meaning of the.

  210. Parable. The seed is God's Word, The

  211. seeds. That fell on the footpath.

  212. Represent. Those who hear the message.

  213. Only to have the devil. Come and take it away from their

  214. hearts and prevent them from believing and being saved.

  215. The seeds on the rocky soil represent.

  216. Those who hear the message and receive it with joy.

  217. But since they don't have deep roots, they believe for a while.

  218. Then they fall away when they face temptation.

  219. The seeds that. Fell among the thorns represent

  220. those who hear the message. But all too.

  221. Quickly, the message is crowded. Out by the cares.

  222. And riches and pleasures. Of this life.

  223. And so they never grow into maturity, and the seeds that

  224. fell on the good soil represent honest.

  225. Good hearted people who hear God's word cling.

  226. To it and patiently produce. A huge harvest, so there is a

  227. possibility. That we can be.

  228. Followers of Jesus and have a faith which is sterile.

  229. It's a very. Possible thing because look at

  230. the 1st. Kind of soil, he talks.

  231. About no soil like my. Garden.

  232. Just rock. So many times we can meet

  233. somebody. Who we have shared the gospel

  234. with, but there. Is no soil.

  235. To receive the word. So nothing really changes.

  236. Don't beat yourself up about it. You did what you needed to, but

  237. there's a second. Problem.

  238. Sometimes our hearts are. So Rocky.

  239. You know when you. Studied in geography we studied.

  240. About a kind of. Soil called loamy soil.

  241. You remember that? Loamy is basically soil which is

  242. loose and has spaces in it, right?

  243. And so therefore a plant. Put in that the seed put in that

  244. will have space to spread its. Roots and grow and many.

  245. Of us, our hearts are so crowded with the rocks of of.

  246. Temptation of the things that the.

  247. World offers that we don't have space for God's Word to take

  248. root I. Believe in what?

  249. My flesh. Desires.

  250. I don't believe in the. Word of God and therefore.

  251. Maybe your heart has become rocky.

  252. And the third kind of. Rock that the soil that Jesus is

  253. talking. About is the thorny 1.

  254. The thorny 1 is basically where the seed has.

  255. Gone in. You've heard the word you're.

  256. Absorbing it, but something else is also coexisting with your

  257. word. With the word of God, it's the

  258. the treasures of your life, the harsh realities of what we go

  259. through. And I think most of us come into

  260. this category. Where with the word of God

  261. there's this weed of stress growing?

  262. There's the weed of anxiety. There's the weed of.

  263. Cares and heaviness. Because we live in such.

  264. A time, right? There's also.

  265. Like Jesus said, the pleasures. Of this world, that's another

  266. weed. And The thing is, I want to ask

  267. you which kind. Of soil are you holding?

  268. In your heart. Today, is it rocky?

  269. Is it tawny? Is it just a plain path where

  270. there's no room? For the world to go in because

  271. God is. Calling us into this place of

  272. saying here I want your. Faith to be so fertile.

  273. That I can do these things you cannot.

  274. Imagine how many of you want supernatural things to happen in

  275. your lifetime. We need a fertile faith.

  276. And today we're going to be. Studying the life of one woman

  277. in the Bible. We often look at her life just.

  278. In the in the context of women who want children.

  279. But I believe her life is so powerful.

  280. Because it is not just for women, it is for.

  281. Every believer of Jesus to. Model how to live with?

  282. Faith we're going to look at the story of.

  283. Hannah Hannah, the mother of Samuel.

  284. Just to give you a bit of background for those of you who.

  285. Don't know about her. She was married to this man

  286. called El Khanna. He had another wife who had

  287. children, but Hannah didn't have kids and it says.

  288. Over there the Lord had. Closed her womb.

  289. And so she was OK. El Khanna loved her.

  290. Loved. Her so much.

  291. Gave her extra portion of. Food, but the rival wife

  292. provoked her to sadness. Right.

  293. And so this, every time they would come to the temple, you

  294. know, they have to come once a year for this.

  295. Festival, they would come there. And she would be so.

  296. Broken because of what? This.

  297. Woman was putting her through and this is where we meet her in

  298. One Samuel chapter 1 verses 10 to 18.

  299. As we read it, I want you to remember this one thing.

  300. Hannah may have been barren. Physically, but her faith.

  301. Was far from barren. It was a very fertile faith.

  302. That's why we're going to look at her verse 10.

  303. Hannah was in deep anguish, crying bitterly as she.

  304. Prayed to the. Lord, and she made this.

  305. Vow O. Lord of ancient Heavens armies.

  306. If you will look. Upon my sorrow, and answer my

  307. prayer, and give me her son, then I will give him back to

  308. you. He will be yours.

  309. For his entire lifetime, and as a sign that he has been.

  310. Dedicated to the Lord His. Hair will never be cut.

  311. The first sign of a fertile faith.

  312. First sign. Is that we'll always seek.

  313. God's Kingdom first. It will not be about our will.

  314. It won't be about our expansion. It will be about the.

  315. Kingdom. Look at this, she's asking God

  316. for a child. And she's.

  317. Vowing to give the child. Back for a lifetime.

  318. Those of us who've had kids, it's a very hard prayer to pray.

  319. Lord, I give them off to you. We say that in words.

  320. But heart of hearts, the. Strings are so tight but here

  321. she's saying I'll give him and what is the sign I will not?

  322. Cut his hair basically she was saying he'll.

  323. Be a Nazarene, he'll. Be set apart.

  324. And so she cared more than what she wanted.

  325. Yes. Was there disgrace associated?

  326. With Baroness in those. Days, yes.

  327. But she didn't mind all that she said.

  328. You give him to me, I'll give him back it.

  329. Was like offering the first fruits.

  330. Before the first fruit even arrived.

  331. Isn't that amazing? What are you and I waiting for?

  332. But we're. Waiting because it's our Kingdom

  333. that needs to be expanded, our financial growth, our carrier

  334. growth. Have you said lot but let your.

  335. Kingdom come, let. Your will be done.

  336. Fertile faith seeks first God's. Kingdom.

  337. And you know, I'm amazed at Eli's response.

  338. He's the example. Of a sterile faith.

  339. You know why he and his sons, Eli, had not brought up his sons

  340. well. So his sons were doing all kinds

  341. of nonsense in the courts. They were sleeping with women,

  342. they were holding up the offerings that were coming, and

  343. they were living so unrighteously.

  344. That God was going to. Wipe them out and he would use

  345. Samuel. To replace his priesthood, but.

  346. Here's the thing. This is what Eli right?

  347. Says to him. He says to her, stop.

  348. Your drinking, give up your drink.

  349. Look at how. Distant he must be from the

  350. heart of God to not discern when someone needed help and this.

  351. Is what she replies. As she was praying.

  352. Eli watched her, seeing her lips moving.

  353. But. Hearing no sound, he thought she

  354. had been drinking. Must you come here drunk?

  355. He demanded. Throw away your wine, verse 15.

  356. Oh, no, Sir, she replied. I haven't been drinking wine or

  357. anything stronger but I'm very discouraged and I was pouring

  358. out my heart to the. Lord.

  359. Don't think I'm a wicked woman, for I have been praying out of

  360. great anguish and sorrow. The second thing about a

  361. fertile. Faith is it calls it like it is.

  362. And yet calls on God. Faith is not denial.

  363. Faith is not being in denial. You.

  364. Got a bad medical report? You don't have to throw.

  365. It in the dustbin and say, well I'm just believing nothing's

  366. wrong with me. It's not denying your reality,

  367. but it is immediately taking the reality.

  368. To the foot of the cross. It is immediately taking my.

  369. Reality to God, did you get cheated in that business

  370. dealing? Yes.

  371. You don't have to deny it. But where do you go with?

  372. It calls it like it is. And yet calls on God too many of

  373. us. I have this problem.

  374. As soon as something goes wrong I have.

  375. Two people that I will. Call.

  376. I won't tell you who they. Are, but they're very close to

  377. me. Before I call on God.

  378. I will call these two people. They're in my family and I will

  379. first listen to their input before I listen to anyone

  380. else's. They will know everything that's

  381. going and every up and down they'll be aware of.

  382. But my mistake has been not to immediately turn and pivot to

  383. God. It's been to.

  384. Talk to these two trusted. Confidants and I don't think

  385. it's just me. A lot of us are like that and

  386. God is saying. You call it like it is.

  387. She's. Saying I am in anguish.

  388. Anguish is the worst kind of suffering.

  389. I'm in anguish. God.

  390. I'm discouraged. You know many Christians will

  391. tell you don't say the word. Depressed.

  392. Don't say you're. Depressed.

  393. If you're depressed, what do you call it?

  394. Call it like it is, but. Call on God, don't look to

  395. anyone else. The beauty of this is.

  396. Hannah didn't look to Eli for. Answers.

  397. She looked straight up. She just.

  398. Informed him, hey, I'm talking to him.

  399. I'm talking to the big man upstairs, you don't worry about

  400. me. And the beautiful thing is, Eli

  401. blesses. Her.

  402. His. Sterile fate suddenly turned

  403. around, he said. I pray.

  404. That you will have. Everything you've asked for.

  405. And so I want to ask you, have you been taught to deny your

  406. reality in the name of faith? Today might be the day we

  407. unlearned that. Don't deny it.

  408. You've been the victim of unfaithfulness.

  409. Call it. Like it is, but call out to God.

  410. Don't take the phone and immediately call that one person

  411. who will say the things you want them to say.

  412. Call on God. There are many people.

  413. Who say today we? Fake it till we make it.

  414. That's not the Christian faith. You don't need to fake anything

  415. with him, Hannah called it like. It is.

  416. And she looked to him. Verse 17 in that.

  417. Case, Eli said. Go in.

  418. Peace may the. God of Israel, grant the request

  419. you have asked. Of him.

  420. Oh, thank you, Sir. She exclaimed.

  421. Then she went back and began to eat.

  422. Again. And she was no.

  423. Longer sad how many of your problem when you start to sulk,

  424. you don't know when to stop in our family when we were growing

  425. up. I was the facelifter.

  426. That's what my dad used to call. They correct me.

  427. I will. Lift my face.

  428. I won't know when to stop because I get hungry after

  429. point. Hour.

  430. One hour. How long can you be angry in

  431. your room? But look at the beauty of

  432. Hannah. The the very fact was she laid

  433. the request. Down turns around because she

  434. called on God, not on Eli, not on El Khan.

  435. I look at El Khan. I was just thinking.

  436. He's the. Typical foot and mouth husband.

  437. Am I not worth more to you than sons?

  438. She's probably thinking, no, I want a son.

  439. You're not going to fit. That space.

  440. But the beautiful thing is. She let God be God.

  441. And a sign. Of a fertile faith is.

  442. Knowing that, I've left it with him now.

  443. Let him do what he wants. He can do whatever God.

  444. Your will. Not mine, so a fertile.

  445. Faith allows God to be God for those of us who are CEOs.

  446. Of our own life, master control freaks, we need to come to this.

  447. Place of saying Lord, I'll let you be God.

  448. This is not happening on my timeline, so I will take my

  449. hands off the pedal. I'll take my.

  450. Feet off the gas, I will let you lead the way.

  451. The point is this, we don't pray and let go.

  452. We pray and hold on. Sometimes we let go and then

  453. we're worried. Should I have been holding on?

  454. Title you know, but God is saying you can trust.

  455. Me to be God because the way I see.

  456. It on my limited understanding, this is how I picture when I'm

  457. praying for something. When you're praying for

  458. something, God is ordering things supernaturally in the

  459. heavenly realms. That what is.

  460. Working going to work in your. Favour is going to start.

  461. Working for someone else, it will drive someone else's faith.

  462. That door. Will open for someone.

  463. It's all. Happening together and he's

  464. positioning us. For these perfect keros.

  465. Moments and so if. I just let God be God without

  466. forcing. These miracles without.

  467. Forcing these breakthroughs, can you just see what's going to?

  468. Happen in our lives could be amazing and the beautiful thing

  469. was she went back began to eat she was number longer.

  470. Sad. It's a weird detail to add, but

  471. I think. It's important.

  472. Because a lot of. Times we.

  473. Present our request to God. And then we.

  474. Still are so doubtful whether he'll actually.

  475. Come through and then what happens later on is so.

  476. Beautiful because she has this baby.

  477. It says God. Remembers Hannah and gives.

  478. Her this beautiful. Son, and I'm guessing.

  479. He was about 3 or 4 when she. Weaned him and comes and leaves

  480. him in the temple. And think about the level of

  481. surrender. All the moms in the room.

  482. You'll know this is so. Hard this.

  483. One child has come after so many years.

  484. Now you're going to leave him in the care of a man who didn't

  485. look after his sons? Well, you're trusting him to

  486. Eli. But ultimately, she had looked.

  487. To God she kept her word to God. And then there's this beautiful

  488. chapter of Hannah's song. Of praise, so the. 4th symptom

  489. that you have fertile. Faith is.

  490. That you can release unbroken praise in broken times.

  491. Why was it a broken? Time think.

  492. About it she's waited for. Years.

  493. She's relinquishing this kid she doesn't know she's going to have

  494. five more. Kids OK, it's a.

  495. Moment of just surrender and yet in the midst.

  496. Of that, she's praising fertile faith.

  497. Will release unbroken praise in broken times.

  498. Repeatedly in the Bible we see stories of how people praised.

  499. In the hardest of situations, Paul and Silas prison doors

  500. open, but there are many stories also which we don't hear of in

  501. the real world, where praise is being offered.

  502. There's really no breakthrough insight, and that's when it is

  503. in broken times, if you can still.

  504. Raise. Unbroken praise.

  505. It's a sign that your. Faith will outlive you.

  506. It's a sign that your. Faith is so fertile it will not

  507. just support. Your life, it will support many

  508. others. So I want to ask you a few

  509. things before we go on. How is the faith soil of your

  510. life? Everyone in this room, Most of

  511. you. Are believers in Jesus so you

  512. have a basic. You've been saved by faith, but

  513. my question to you is how is the condition of your soil?

  514. Is it so fertile that? Supernatural things can happen.

  515. Is it nourishing you or is it depleting you?

  516. Because there's really not much growing in it.

  517. Interestingly, you know the hard times of our lives.

  518. Harden the soil correct You get repeatedly cheated by people

  519. that part of. You is like I cannot trust

  520. anyone. You have repeated health issues.

  521. You're like God you. Said you'll heal me, but am I

  522. not worth healing? The hard times harden the faith.

  523. Soil. Sometimes our empty seasons will

  524. empty the nutrients. Out of our faith soil.

  525. I don't have anything filled in me.

  526. What am I? How am I going to help anyone

  527. else and I? Progressively get emptier.

  528. And emptier and emptier. But today, before we go.

  529. Further, I'm going to ask if you need the.

  530. Gift of faith. Did you know that the the.

  531. Gift of faith is actually a spiritual gift.

  532. In the book of Corinthians, it says amidst miracles, signs,

  533. wonders, deliverance, all of that.

  534. The gift of faith. And of late I've been asking God

  535. for that because, you know, we ask for these other things.

  536. We want interpretation of tongues.

  537. We want distinguishing between spirits.

  538. Why am I not asking him for the? Gift of faith, Why?

  539. Am I not saying God help? Me believe against all odds.

  540. We have had friends in our lives as families.

  541. People. Who have, you know, outlived?

  542. As it probably like they've just passed away.

  543. Some of them they. Lived by faith, this family.

  544. They both did ministry in Bangalore.

  545. They lived in a house for 40 years.

  546. They ministered. To all kinds of people, they.

  547. Would not know many times where they had three sons.

  548. One of their sons worked with my dad.

  549. They just lived on faith. And my dad had never.

  550. Heard of this thought of. Living by faith Daddy had never

  551. heard about. But when he was talking.

  552. To his friend one day, he said. Victor, we live by faith.

  553. And he went on to explain what that looks like many times.

  554. Auntie Auntie was an incredible cook, but you won't have any.

  555. Food to cook with. And someone will come and knock

  556. on the door and say just felt led to come and give you rice in

  557. Dal. It's crazy.

  558. And why are we not having it? In today's consumeristic world,

  559. we are. So sure of what?

  560. We need it's in our cart, it's in Amazon.

  561. We know what we need. We can budget, we can be amazing

  562. with. Excel sheets.

  563. We can do all of that, but do I believe?

  564. God for the impossible, the things that are outside of my.

  565. Reach do I believe? That he can make my marriage

  566. amazing. Do I?

  567. Believe that. He can give me those children

  568. I'm longing for. Can he?

  569. Do you believe he will? Bring back everything the enemy

  570. stole. If it's worth, said it.

  571. Why am I not believing it? We need the.

  572. Gift of faith if. You are someone if we can just

  573. all. Close our eyes quickly this.

  574. Is not the end because if you raise your hand, I don't want

  575. you to feel you know that someone else is watching you.

  576. But if you need the gift of faith, I want you to raise your

  577. hand. I want to pray with you, me

  578. included. I need this gift and the Holy

  579. Spirit. Wants to bless his church.

  580. With this gift. Amen.

  581. Amen. He's seeing each of you right

  582. now, and he's going to. Give you this impartation to

  583. believe for the impossible to believe.

  584. For the things that are larger than life, the things that you

  585. and I know mind has seen or conceived, He's going to do that

  586. for us. Thank you, Lord, thank you.

  587. Can you just? Believe that you've received

  588. this. Gift.

  589. Amen. Amen.

  590. So in Romans chapter 10. Verse 17, it says, consequently,

    Romans 10 chapter mention

  591. faith comes from hearing the message and the message is.

  592. Heard through the word about Christ, so look at.

  593. This connection, the faith along that we have as a.

  594. Soil with the seed of God's Word.

  595. Transforms our lives. It changes.

  596. Everything right? So God's Word is a seed that is.

  597. Falling so you hear the. Word.

  598. Here, then you go home Monday. To Friday or Saturday, God.

  599. Willing you're reading the word. Privately.

  600. That's falling on the. Soil of your heart and.

  601. Then when the. Holy Spirit so beautifully

  602. works. In our lives, it's like a rake,

  603. you know he. Rakes the soil of our hearts, He

  604. allows. Things to happen.

  605. To us, he's working with us. The word begins to take.

  606. Life. I love.

  607. These time lapse videos of seeds.

  608. Underground it looks like seemingly nothing is happening

  609. above ground, but when they put cameras underground you should.

  610. See the way the seed is growing? There's not a microsecond when

  611. it's not growing. So most of our growth is

  612. underground I sometimes. Joke 1st 40 years.

  613. I think is underground, then by 80 I think we have.

  614. Like a sapling. But God is calling us to be

  615. oaks. Of righteousness and the only

  616. way the oak is going to grow well.

  617. Is if we are rooted. In the soil of our.

  618. Faith. And if God's Word is constantly

  619. working on us. The beautiful thing about Jesus.

  620. Teaching on that. Soil was the soil produced.

  621. The grain. When the grain was threshed, it

  622. formed the flour, which became a bread.

  623. Correct, there's a process. Many of you are probably

  624. thinking, well I read the. Word this week.

  625. I claimed it this week. Nothing has changed.

  626. I'm sorry, but it said those who patiently waited harvested a

  627. rich crop. The Word of God takes time, but

  628. it will work. Too many of us are giving up

  629. prematurely. You go through.

  630. Leviticus you're like. I'm done with Bible reading.

  631. I cannot do this anymore. God is saying push through.

  632. Digest the word so that it is. Assimilated into your very being

  633. so that when someone pokes you, all that comes out is.

  634. The word of God so that when you're.

  635. Praying. You're no longer using fancy

  636. jargon, but you're just praying the word of.

  637. God out, it will change your life.

  638. It will change your life because the thing about.

  639. This is when we. Look at a regular plant, you

  640. just look at a garden. The sun and the water are a

  641. given. The Holy Spirit and and Jesus

  642. the Sun of Righteousness. Always with us the soil.

  643. Is in our hands what you and I do.

  644. With us faith. Is in US.

  645. It's not. You cannot blame anyone.

  646. For that, let's stop. Blaming others for depleting our

  647. faith. Let's take responsibility today.

  648. And I want to leave this one thought.

  649. With you before we close up, the proof of a fertile faith is

  650. actually. How much it impacts eternity?

  651. What do I mean by that? So Hannah has this child.

  652. That she prays for. And she delivers Samuel, who's

  653. one of the. Greatest prophets of Israel.

  654. Now it wasn't. It didn't just end with him.

  655. He. Didn't just give prophetic

  656. words. And not was just.

  657. Not done with it. He anointed the two first kings

  658. of. Israel, Right, Saul?

  659. And then David, and David was in the line of.

  660. Jesus, So what? Samuel achieved far outlived

  661. him. He was the one who anointed

  662. these kings. He was the one who.

  663. Gave the word to Israel saying this is what your future is

  664. going to look like. You have given up on God as

  665. king, and you've asked for kings.

  666. Now this is the. Blueprint of your future.

  667. Hannah didn't know. That her faith would be so

  668. fertile that Israel's history will be changed.

  669. And I want to just. Before I show you this quick

  670. video this week, so I sit. At my dining table when the kids

  671. leave and I. Work the whole day there.

  672. And the whole time when I was sitting there, I heard a buzzing

  673. sound. So I first saw something wrong

  674. with my hearing. But then I noticed there were

  675. these small little honey bees hovering over all my potted

  676. plants. And the first thing I think of

  677. when I think of these insects is I thought they were.

  678. Pests. So my, you know, we're all

  679. saddest. You know one part of us.

  680. Is saddest, so I took. The water hose and I filled.

  681. All the pots with it to cover the holes up.

  682. I finished after about two hours I again hear the buzzing.

  683. These guys are so. Important in these bees.

  684. They'd opened up the beehives. Again in the soil.

  685. So I took a picture I. Put it on Google Lens and

  686. checked. What is this they called?

  687. Ground bees. OK, these guys prefer.

  688. Laying their eggs in fertile soil on the ground than going

  689. and putting up hives anywhere and So what these and you won't

  690. believe it these can you just. Put that video up.

  691. Just look at it. It's it's.

  692. Laid its nest inside and it's constantly hovering there.

  693. OK. And that is?

  694. The the bee was adorable to look at.

  695. It had a Stinger but it never stung me.

  696. But they're very protective of their babies inside.

  697. Every one of my. Pots had a.

  698. Bee in it, a couple of bees in it.

  699. And as I was reading up. Turns out these guys are.

  700. Extremely important for our ecosystem.

  701. They're the ones who balance. Out everything because they

  702. eventually the babies they have go.

  703. Out and pollinate all our plants and here I was trying to flood

  704. them and kill them and as I was looking at it, I was just

  705. thinking when her soil. Is fertile.

  706. It doesn't just bless. Me.

  707. It blesses someone else as well. Hannah's faith was fertile.

  708. For herself, but it birthed. A man who was generationally

  709. impactful and today your faith cannot end with you when you

  710. tell someone. What you've walked through.

  711. They might just be starting that part of the journey and what you

  712. tell them. Will change their lives what you

  713. have walked through. Will completely transform their

  714. faith journey. It can't end with us.

  715. Cannot end with us, Jeremiah. Chapter 4 verse 3 as I close.

    Jeremiah 4:3

  716. I want you to highlight if you didn't take any notes, it's

  717. fine, but Jeremiah 4 verse three, I want you to.

  718. Just highlight this. This is what the Lord says to

  719. the people. Of Judah and to Jerusalem.

  720. Break up your uncloud ground and do not sow among thorns.

  721. This was the people. That had been hardened by.

  722. Exile. Hardened by the hard stuff.

  723. Emptied out because their vats. Were empty, nothing.

  724. They were operating out of nothing.

  725. And yet he's saying turn up the fallowed ground, ground that had

  726. not been dug up, that could not sow anything in it.

  727. And I believe God is calling us. To this place today.

  728. Because as we were listening, maybe you thought my faith was

  729. OK up until now. Now Tina has made me have an

  730. existential crisis. But that's not the point of

  731. this, OK? The point is to say, let's not

  732. neglect. Our faith because it is the

  733. basis. On which every.

  734. Other part of our life runs. Because you know the storms.

  735. Of life are real. How many of you saw this week

  736. the Doomsday Fish? Came out of the ocean, did you

  737. guys? See that 25 feet?

  738. Long. Looked totally creepy and they.

  739. Said many of these mythical. People who like all these

  740. stories said. Oh, this is a sign of the end

  741. times. That there's possibly.

  742. A tsunami coming because. These big fish live right at the

  743. base of the oceans, so if it was caught, it came to our coast

  744. here. And as I was watching, I was

  745. thinking. Wow, if if our faith.

  746. Is not rooted in Jesus. These kind of things can really.

  747. Scare us because the. Storms will come.

  748. Oaks are. Built by.

  749. Storms. Did you know that when the storm

  750. hits them, the roots take greater strength and that's how

  751. they keep growing taller and taller if you want to move from.

  752. Seed to grain stage. You will need to be.

  753. Rooted. In strong.

  754. Fertile faith, James One. Chapter verse 21 says.

  755. Therefore, get rid of. All moral filth and the evil.

  756. That is so. Prevalent and humbly accept the.

  757. Word. Planted in you which can.

  758. Save you we're. Living in times you know, it's

  759. so interesting on Instagram you. Have the search.

  760. Option right? You can search for things and I

  761. don't know for what reason, but in my.

  762. Search thing it showed. A bunch of these trans.

  763. Couples it showed lesbian couples.

  764. I think it was ABI who told us get dressed, get ready with.

  765. Me #grwm, these women also do the same thing.

  766. And I was watching it and I was, I got confused for a SEC, what

  767. is going on, what am I looking at?

  768. And then I realised the moral filth and the evil.

  769. That is out there is. So prevalent if my faith is not

  770. in Jesus. If the seed of God's.

  771. Word is not in my. Heart I can get confused.

  772. And the greater burden came about, which was, what are we

  773. going to do? Each of us for our.

  774. Families, are you modelling putting the word into your?

  775. Life are you? Reading it hungrily every day.

  776. You can't just read the. Word when you have.

  777. To prepare for a Bible study, you have to.

  778. Be reading it as your sustenance, because then I can

  779. humbly accept the Word planted in me and know to discern.

  780. This is false. This is truth.

  781. This is counterfeit. This is the real deal if we

  782. don't have the. Word of God in US.

  783. Nothing will grow in our lives and we will be of no use to

  784. anyone else in the world. Let's not kid ourselves.

  785. None of us are. Living such lives where?

  786. There is no weed growing. What weed is crowding out?

  787. The seed that God is. Putting in US.

  788. Every day, every week. What are the weeds?

  789. Is it worry? Is it anxiety?

  790. Is it? Riches.

  791. The pursuit of riches. The accumulation of riches.

  792. Is it pleasures? Is it temptation?

  793. What is it? It could be good.

  794. Things that have turned into weeds If you've been struggling

  795. with a hardened heart, a heart that has been so broken by

  796. people, by family, by. Hardship.

  797. Maybe today's the. Time you need to ask God, Lord

  798. soften my heart again and the way God.

  799. Does it is He uses his people, He uses His word, He uses life

  800. situations to till the soils of our heart.

  801. So if that is your prayer, can you just start praying that out

  802. to Him? We want to look at our own

  803. selves today. We're not going to look at a

  804. spouse. We're not going to look at a

  805. friend and say, oh, you need a revamp of faith.

  806. No, but I need my faith to be rekindled.

  807. I want my soil to be pure and. Fertile for you to work in.

  808. So that it transforms my life and others.

  809. Lives Holy Spirit, we just. Welcome you into this place.

  810. We thank you that no two of us are on a similar.

  811. Journey, but Lord all of us. Are running the race is marked

  812. out for us and I just. Pray through this week that God

  813. you will show us. Where our faith has become

  814. sterile, where there is barrenness.

  815. And that God, you will make it. Fertile again, Holy Spirit, we

  816. welcome you. We welcome you.

  817. For those of us, Lord, whose soil only supports.

  818. Us that Lord today onwards. You will give us start.

  819. Giving us dreams and visions of how we can.

  820. Bless others because of our faith, if that is your.

  821. Desire, can you just raise your hands because I.

  822. Believe God wants to meet us. We can call it like.

  823. It is with him. God, we need you.

  824. We can do nothing apart from you, Father I.

  825. Pray for those who the Word of God was put.

  826. In even as a. Child, but Lord, they haven't.

  827. Seen it grow. Spirit of God, I pray that you

  828. will. Show them, open their.

  829. Eyes to see the growth. That is happening.

  830. Open their. Eyes to show.

  831. Them that Lord, the things that have been planted long ago are.

  832. Going to take shape. They're going to come out.

  833. They're going to. Be harvested.

  834. They're going to see a rich harvest.

  835. I pray for those. Prayers that have gone

  836. unanswered for so long. Lord, we pray that our faith

  837. won't dwindle. Stir it up.

  838. Oh God, stir it up. I pray through this week you

  839. will go ahead of us. Lead us gently.

  840. God fill us with. Strength, fill us with courage,

  841. Fan into flame, the things that we have been asking you for the

  842. gift. Of faith, I pray you.

  843. Fan it into flame. Remove every weed in.

  844. Jesus name and set us. Free to bear fruit for you.

  845. We love you and. We thank you.

  846. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
