  1. We welcome you to the We Are Zion sermon podcast.

  2. We are a church based out of Chennai, India.

  3. We are thrilled that you tuned in today and hope that you will

  4. be refreshed, revived, and energized by what you hear.

  5. Our desire is that you will live life with a renewed sense of

  6. purpose that stems from a vibrant faith in Jesus.

  7. Jesus is the giver of life and when we invite him into our

  8. heart, he brings new life into every aspect of our life.

  9. This Lent, we pray that you will experience this new life in

  10. amazing ways and carry its power into the world so that all may

  11. know the way, the truth, and the life.

  12. Just preaching today on this topic for me personally has been

  13. so encouraging. I'm going to be talking today

  14. about the power, the new life inheriting the resurrection

  15. life. The element of the power, new

  16. life we're talking about is the power of God and just being in a

  17. nation in a state where the river is the source of their

  18. power and realizing that's actually useless.

  19. Imagine we are in the we took the children on the gun, the

  20. Ganges boat ride. So all, like about 15 of us went

  21. on the Ganges to lighten the mood because there were bodies

  22. being burnt on the guts. We saw a dead body floating by

  23. with this belly swollen. It was a man.

  24. The smells all around, devotees dipping themselves in that

  25. eternal flame. There's one gut where there's a

  26. flame just constantly burning. And there these particular

  27. sadhus who are dressed a certain way, who eat flesh, they put

  28. ashes on themselves. These are the things that you're

  29. looking at to lighten the mood. We gave our children Geshom got

  30. a lot of chips and biscuits for all of them, just to kind of

  31. lighten it. But it doesn't escape you that

  32. for many, they think that river is the source of their power.

  33. We saw a woman, we were finishing the boat ride, getting

  34. off the boat. The the banks of the river are

  35. filthy. She's standing knee deep in it,

  36. drinking the water, pouring it on her head.

  37. And it breaks your heart. And so I was asking, Calvin,

  38. what did you learn out of this whole trip in the airport?

  39. And he said, people here are doing so much to please their

  40. God, to make him happy. I'm so glad we have Jesus.

  41. We are the most blessed. That's all I can say.

  42. And when we inherit this new life, we inherit power.

  43. Too many of us are living powerless lives.

  44. We're living lives as if we are, you know, completely on a life,

  45. on our ventilator, needing life support constantly.

  46. God is calling us into a place of living powerfully.

  47. Philippians chapter 3 verses 8 to 11.

    Philippians 3:8–11

  48. Indeed, I count. Everything is lost because of

  49. the surpassing worth of knowing Jesus Christ my Lord.

  50. For His sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count

  51. them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in

  52. Him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the

  53. law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the

  54. righteousness from God that depends on faith.

  55. That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and

  56. may share His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death,

  57. That by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the

  58. dead. It's very interesting.

  59. It says that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection

  60. and may share His sufferings. We want the power, but we don't

  61. want the sufferings. But the sufferings are the route

  62. through which he takes us when power is being generated.

  63. So for the Christian, there is no way of getting the power

  64. without the hardship. So if you're walking through a

  65. hard season, you're in great company.

  66. If you're in a good season, we thank God with you.

  67. But some of these things don't last forever.

  68. The Christian journey is is is almost like a road with

  69. wilderness. And then there's the seasons of

  70. promise, and then there's wilderness again.

  71. And in the through it all, the thing that is constantly

  72. growing, God willing, is the power of God in you.

  73. What does this power entail exactly?

  74. You might ask me, what does it look like?

  75. I get it, I get that there's power.

  76. What does it look like? Ephesians 118 to 21.

  77. I want you all to highlight these 3 verses.

  78. And if possible, if you can, I think on our screensavers now

  79. you can put a verse if you can put it as your daily declaration

  80. and read it. I've done it every day this

  81. week. I believe something is changing.

  82. Ephesians 118 to 21. It says, I pray that the eyes of

  83. your heart may be enlightened, in order that you may know the

  84. hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious

  85. inheritance in His holy people, and His incomparably great power

  86. for us who believe that power is the same as the mighty strength

  87. He exerted when He raised Christ from the dead and seated him at

  88. His right hand. In the heavenly realms, far

  89. above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every

  90. name that is invoked not only in the present age but also in the

  91. one to come. Now the word for power is many.

  92. The primary word in the New Testament is dunamis, which is

  93. like this creative supernatural power that births miracles and

  94. signs and wonders. But in this passage all the

  95. versions of that word are found, which is very interesting.

  96. But I want you to 1st get rid of any mental image you have of

  97. power. Those of you who watch Marvel

  98. movies, if you've seen The Scarlet, which you know how she

  99. just has to her whole acting is this.

  100. The guys who work behind the scenes do all the effects, but

  101. half the time she's only holding her hands like this.

  102. And then you see the Hulk, who has brute strength, You see Thor

  103. with his hammer. They all have something which

  104. attributes might and strength and power and all of that.

  105. But you need to get rid of those ideas for a time, because this

  106. power that God has given us through the resurrection power

  107. of Jesus is very, very dynamic. It is multifaceted.

  108. One of the meanings Dunamis comes with in the association of

  109. creation of life in the womb. Hebrews, 1111.

  110. If you can highlight that by faith, Tara herself received

  111. Dunamis power to conceive even when she was past the age, since

  112. she considered him faithful who had promised.

  113. When Geshram talked about hope last week, he talked about a

  114. regeneration. He talked many times on the

  115. online at least about regeneration of arteries and

  116. this and that. This week when I was preparing

  117. for it, the Lord was really asking me.

  118. He said doctors are saying fallopian tubes are stuck.

  119. I regenerate that my power does it.

  120. God is the doctors are telling you your ovaries have such and

  121. such issue. I will regenerate because that

  122. is the power. The one who created breathes

  123. life into wombs. Sara received Dunamis power.

  124. It is a creative energy. Mark 16 verses 17 to 18 says

    Mark 16:17–18

  125. these miracle signs will accompany those who believe.

  126. They will drive out demons in the power of my name.

  127. They will speak in tongues. They will be supernaturally

  128. protected from snakes and from drinking anything poisonous.

  129. They will lay hands on the sick and heal them.

  130. Same word. Dunamis, science, wonders,

  131. miracles, speaking in tongues, healing the sick.

  132. Desire for these things. Do not mock those who speak in

  133. tongues. Desire for it.

  134. It edifies your soul. When you don't have words to

  135. speak in the physical realm, it connects you instantly to

  136. another realm. You are speaking secrets to your

  137. Father. Please, I encourage you to seek

  138. earnestly for the gift of tongues and its interpretation.

  139. Dunamis, there's another power that is mentioned in this, which

  140. is exusia. Exusia is the power that comes

  141. from delegated authority. God gave Jesus authority.

  142. Jesus gave us authority. You and I are people with

  143. authority. We've shared this before.

  144. You see the cops outside, they have authority.

  145. And then you have some volunteers who wear a luminous

  146. shirt and stand. They don't actually have

  147. terribly great authority, but they've got delegated authority

  148. to direct traffic. You and I are not even at that

  149. level. We are at traffic police level.

  150. God has given you authority to stand against the powers of

  151. darkness to take up what was stolen.

  152. You and I have that authority. Luke 10, verse 19.

    Luke 10:19

  153. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions

  154. and to overcome all the power of the enemy.

  155. Nothing will harm you. This is this delegated

  156. authority. You and I, we have that

  157. authority our children carry. That authority doesn't have to

  158. go through us. Our children carry that direct

  159. delegated authority. The next that is mentioned is

  160. Iskus. Iskus is physical strength and

  161. might we talk about Samson having strength and power?

  162. That is this and interestingly it's mentioned by Jesus in Luke

  163. 1027. He says ants.

  164. He said love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all

  165. your soul, with all your strength and with all your mind.

  166. Love is your and love your neighbor as yourself.

  167. God is asking people, will you love me with all your might?

  168. A lot of people hesitate to worship with their bodies.

  169. Loving Him with your strength. You know every time I worship, I

  170. make it a point to lift both my hands.

  171. You know why my daughter was asking me recently?

  172. Why do you always lift both hands, mummy?

  173. Because when I came out of my surgery, the doctor first

  174. checked whether I had a stroke by asking me to lift my hands.

  175. If my hands were unequal, I had suffered A yoke, a stroke.

  176. So every time I lift my hands, I'm telling God with all my

  177. might I will worship you because I almost lost this and I will

  178. never take it for granted. How many of you when during

  179. worship, decide this is a better posture?

  180. You may not be feeling it, but the enemy to our power is our

  181. feelings. Amen.

  182. I don't feel like it today. The enemy to your walking in

  183. power is your feelings. Your feelings are not a bad

  184. thing. They are important, but they're

  185. not all important. Too many of you are not living

  186. in the power of God. Because today I feel too tired.

  187. Today I'm having fatigue. Today I have this problem, today

  188. I don't have money. Your feelings are real, but they

  189. cannot be the driving force of your faith.

  190. It has to move past your feelings into a place or saying

  191. the living power of God is in me.

  192. Yes, I don't feel like worshipping, but I will worship.

  193. Yes, I don't feel like giving, but I will give.

  194. That is what God is calling. Will you love Him with all your

  195. might? And finally, the other word that

  196. is mentioned for power is Kratos, which is my favorite

  197. because in this season God has been impressing on us.

  198. The territory has arrived. Will you take Dominion?

  199. Last year we were positioned, this year we're taking it.

  200. It is your job to take back what the enemy stole.

  201. Dominion is yours. Hebrews 214 says since the

  202. children have flesh and blood, he too Jesus shared in their

  203. humanity, so that by his death he might break the power of him

  204. who holds the power of death. That is the devil.

  205. Picture a map and we always think, oh you know what?

  206. Varanasi is overrun by the enemy.

  207. But when I was in Ruth and Jeremy's house, when I went to

  208. that Mission Hospital, you know, you can feel that light has

  209. broken through because they're taking territory.

  210. Can I ask you, in your locations in Adyar, in Tambaram, in ECR,

  211. are you pushing back the darkness and bringing in the

  212. light? Are you someone who's saying I

  213. refuse to accept this mandate on this pin code?

  214. I refuse to believe that this pin code is going to be shrouded

  215. in darkness. I have come in, so the power of

  216. God has come in with me. We are changing things.

  217. That's up to us. Kratos is yours.

  218. What you do with it matters. Why do we need this power?

  219. One Corinthians chapter 4 verse 20 for the Kingdom of God is not

  220. a matter of talk, but of power. I can't keep talking about what

  221. I think about it. I can't keep coming up with

  222. strategies if I don't get down to doing things in the power of

  223. God. Jesus is the supreme example of

  224. walking with this power constantly.

  225. And so when I was asking God, Lord, show me what it is we take

  226. back with us. Yes, we all of us unanimously

  227. know we have power, but many of us are not walking in it for

  228. reasons known only to us. But what do I, why do I really

  229. need this power? Because if I know the why,

  230. hopefully I will start walking in the fullness of it, right?

  231. But before I get into the three points and I want to leave with

  232. you as the reasons why we need this power.

  233. I want us to look at Jeremiah 12 verse 5 because I believe we are

    Jeremiah 12:5

  234. in a shift as a church, not just us, but the entire church.

  235. God is moving us. Jeremiah chapter 12, verse 5, if

    Jeremiah 12:5

  236. you can all read it, because if this is your mandate, if you

  237. have raced with men on foot and they have worn you out, how can

  238. you compete with horses if you stumble in safe country?

  239. Next verse, where's that? Can somebody put verse 6 up?

  240. Also, if you stumble in safe country, how will you run in the

  241. tickets by the Jordan? That's what it says.

  242. OK, that's the verse. What is he talking about?

  243. Jeremiah has gone to God in saying you're so quiet.

  244. I don't know if you're just, I've done this, I question God's

  245. justice. I question God's timing.

  246. Lord, when people are waiting for so long, why are you not

  247. coming through? Lord, are you not just those

  248. people are having this miracle? Why are these people not having

  249. it? And he just silences Jeremiah

  250. with this answer. He says you're running with men

  251. and you're tired. I'm calling you into a season of

  252. running with horses. What does that mean?

  253. In the Bible, horses represent battle kind of strength.

  254. Horses usually drew Chariots. So he's saying it's typically

  255. possession, language, inheritance, possessing

  256. language. When the Israelites moved from

  257. wilderness to promised land, they were no longer just

  258. treading through the wilderness on on foot.

  259. No, they were going to take up Canaanite land.

  260. The Canaanites had iron Chariots.

  261. The the Hittites lived in different places.

  262. They were huge, the Amorites, the Jebusites.

  263. God is saying I'm shifting you to a season of increase, but the

  264. increase won't come easy. It comes with battles, it comes

  265. with giants, it comes with iron Chariots.

  266. He's saying, will you now run with horses?

  267. And so I'm going to bring you 3 imageries today of horses.

  268. You know, when you look at an engine or something with power,

  269. they have a unit there. What is the unit called?

  270. Horsepower, and when you understand why they named it

  271. that, because if horses were to pull some weight, the kind of

  272. power that is generated is so great.

  273. Therefore they used it as a standard unit.

  274. And so that there are three reasons you and I need this

  275. power. When I say power, let's not

  276. split heads. Whether you need exusia dunamis,

  277. it doesn't matter. You need the power of God in its

  278. wholeness. But the first reason you need it

  279. is you need power to endure. You need power to endure

  280. anything. You stretch a rubber band, you

  281. can see it's about to RIP, but it doesn't.

  282. At that maximum strength. It's been designed to stretch.

  283. Endurance is built in. You like that.

  284. You first. In the first few years of work,

  285. you have certain setbacks. The next few years you're doing

  286. great. But with it comes a pressure

  287. that's completely new. You have one child, You have one

  288. pressure, two children. It's a little increased 3 Max.

  289. You have one set of in laws to look after.

  290. Suddenly God moves us with the two sets of in laws to look

  291. after. Resilience is built in the

  292. stretching and God is saying you need power to endure.

  293. Colossians chapter one verse 11. I'm reading from the amplified.

  294. It says we pray that you may be strengthened and invigorated

  295. with all power according to his glorious might to attain every

  296. kind of endurance and patience with joy.

  297. I didn't know there were kinds of endurance, all kinds of

  298. endurance. So if you want a Khushi life in

  299. Christ, you may not have it. In the times we're living in,

  300. how dare we ask for a Khushi life when half the world is

  301. aching? We need to be asking God.

  302. God, give me endurance. Teach me how to be strong.

  303. Teach me how. Lord, no matter what storm hits

  304. to, there's a word in the equestrian circles, horse riding

  305. circles, which is very, very important to understand our

  306. posture as Christians. And the word is ectenos.

  307. Ectenos is basically when a horse rider is the jockey is

  308. riding the horse. The horse knows it's trained to

  309. reach the finish line. And so the horse, as the jockey

  310. is riding it, the horse stretches its neck forward and

  311. the muscles will get very accentuated.

  312. And that's stretching is what actually gets it to win ahead of

  313. others. Can we have the first picture of

  314. that horse that is stretched out, Ethanos?

  315. It denotes endurance. Look at the muscles on the neck.

  316. You and I, as Christians were built for running.

  317. We were built to run the race, am I right?

  318. We're built to run a race that Paul says you're running, you're

  319. running it for the long haul. But if you don't have endurance,

  320. if I don't have endurance, we will not make it.

  321. It breaks my heart when people check out of marriages

  322. prematurely, when you don't fight for it.

  323. It breaks my heart when people check out of having children

  324. prematurely. You know how many women I prayed

  325. for in Hyderabad who came and said, my husband and I have

  326. decided not to have children? And I said, you know what, I'm

  327. not going to lecture you, but you need to start reading your

  328. word, read the Bible. Ask God if that's a command for

  329. you as a believer. Don't check out prematurely.

  330. He is building endurance in his church.

  331. He's building you will go through stuff you never thought

  332. you will go through, but through it.

  333. The endurance you build will be so powerful.

  334. It will generate a power that others around you will be

  335. vibrating with. That power that's coming off

  336. you. I keep telling you guys is make

  337. yourself open to sitting at tables with overcomers.

  338. Stop sitting with those who will sit with you in your grief and

  339. cry and cry and whine. Move to the tables of

  340. overcomers. Move to the tables of those who

  341. have built endurance over 20 years, 30 years.

  342. Sit with those people so that you learn of them how to endure.

  343. Every morning this week I sat with Jeremy's mum.

  344. Aunty has had two strokes. If you look at her, you will not

  345. believe it. Endurance is built into her.

  346. She's hard wired for it. She comes down, she goes for a

  347. walk. One hour.

  348. She's not supposed to eat Pani Puri.

  349. She eats pani Puri comes and she is evangelized to everyone on

  350. her prayer route. She told me, Tina, I think I

  351. scare people into coming into the Kingdom of God, but I don't

  352. know how much time I have left. Two strokes, tons of blood

  353. thinners, endurance. What are we complaining about

  354. today? What are you checking out of?

  355. Don't quit that job in a hurry. God has put you there to train

  356. you. Stop complaining about the

  357. things you're walking through. God has trained you.

  358. He's equipped you more than you know.

  359. Ethanos means a strained stretching, saying Lord, I will

  360. hold on till the finish line. It's the picture of Jesus in the

  361. Garden of Gethsemane, crying tears that were like drops of

  362. blood when the Angel was strengthening him.

  363. That is the picture of Ethanos. When you are at your weakest,

  364. you stretch your hands. When you are at your wit's end,

  365. you don't give up. You say, Lord, I'm here, I don't

  366. know what to do, I'll raise my hands.

  367. It is that persistent prayer. It is that fasting that you do.

  368. It is the lament that you bring before the throne.

  369. Don't stop. Power to endure.

  370. That's the first reason you need this power.

  371. The second power is the power to overcome.

  372. Because my question when I was sitting with this was, you see

  373. people suffering in hospitals and you're not.

  374. How can at that point be telling them, oh God, he'll give you

  375. power to endure. The truth is, God, this does

  376. give you the power. Those of you who have walked

  377. through seasons of loss and sickness, after you come out of

  378. it, you wonder, how did I do that?

  379. That is the power of God in you. That is what it enables you to

  380. do. How did I walk through that

  381. season? My God?

  382. When I think about it now, it feels heavy.

  383. That's the power of God. But this power to endure or

  384. overcome and the next one which I share is a lifelong thing

  385. because you know what? God is in it for the long haul.

  386. He plays the long game. The enemy does not play for the

  387. long haul always. He wants quick returns, quick

  388. dunk in in the demonic God's not like that.

  389. He's in it for the long haul. One Corinthians chapter 15

  390. verses 56 to 57. I'm reading it from the passion

  391. because it's so beautiful in that it says it is sin that

  392. gives death its sting and the law that gives sin its power.

  393. But we thank God for giving us the victory as conquerors

  394. through our Lord Jesus the anointed one.

  395. We are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus and I.

  396. We will see not just a conqueror, you're more than

  397. that. So overcoming is a go to

  398. position. When we are hit with a ton of

  399. breaks, my response will usually be one of fear and anxiety.

  400. That's OK, we are human, but we should be quick to pivot to the

  401. position of an overcomer. Don't stay in the position of

  402. weakness. Move to the position in Christ

  403. which is that of an overcomer. Why do I give up that position?

  404. Maybe there's sin. Maybe the opposition is

  405. tremendous, but it doesn't mean you stay underwhelmed,

  406. overwhelmed. It doesn't mean you feel

  407. completely cowed down. You move to your position in

  408. Christ, which is more than an overcome. 1 John chapter 5 verse

    1 John 5:5

  409. 5 says who is it that overcomes the world?

  410. Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

  411. You and I overcome when our trust is completely on Jesus,

  412. completely. We look at Jesus.

  413. He overcame death. Why?

  414. Completely trusted his Father's heart.

  415. He knew the plan. He knew what was going to

  416. happen. Did he struggle with it?

  417. Yes, he said, Lord, if possible, take this cup away from me, but

  418. not my will yours be done in that moment.

  419. He pivoted from the grief and the sorrow and the fear to a

  420. place of God. But I'm surrendered.

  421. I'll do what you say, and God is calling us into a season of

  422. overcoming where we will. We will feel afraid.

  423. When you have to run with horses, it is scary.

  424. When territory has to be taken, it is so fear inducing.

  425. But the call is to pivot to your position as an overcomer.

  426. Can you put the second picture of the horse?

  427. You know war horses. The word for War Horse is Prowse

  428. praus. It is the same word that Jesus

  429. uses in the Beatitudes when he says blessed are the meek.

  430. Can you believe a War Horse is trained for battle?

  431. So basically horses. If you read the book of Job, he

  432. talks about how this horse is impatiently pawing at the ground

  433. because it can smell battle in its nostrils.

  434. These are animals that were bred and born for war.

  435. If this horse is not broken into, it will create havoc on

  436. the battlefield. It will turn against the master.

  437. It can trample him. So if you watch any of these

  438. Wild West shows on TV, they first take a horse into a

  439. paddle, into a field which has got a boundary, and they let it

  440. run. It will run hours on and they

  441. don't have energy issues. They feed it a bit and it'll run

  442. in circles, and then the cowboy gets into the rink with it.

  443. He starts training it with a lasso.

  444. It doesn't like the lasso. It struggles to be held down.

  445. It struggles to submit. It was born to be free.

  446. These stallions were meant to run free in canyons, but in the

  447. hands of the trainer, they have to submit.

  448. Over months they will train it. It will kick the owner off.

  449. When he puts the saddle, he'll push it off.

  450. It's angry with the one training.

  451. But eventually you should watch how they break the horse.

  452. Do they break the strength? No, they break the will.

  453. The strength is harnessed. Jesus, at a word at the cross

  454. could have summoned legions of angels to change the scenario.

  455. One word. He could have just said, I can't

  456. do this. Sorry.

  457. If it was us today, we would have said that.

  458. Lord, I changed my mind. Sorry.

  459. Sorry. I can't do this.

  460. They're pulling my clothes. They're spitting on me.

  461. Sorry. God, I back off, meekness said.

  462. I will submit this is hard, but I will submit.

  463. God, I don't deserve this this season, I don't deserve this

  464. hardship, but I will submit to your correction.

  465. He will break our will. That hard hearted stubborn will

  466. the Lord will break. He likes teachable people, not

  467. because he's a narcissist, but because He's sovereign.

  468. He will correct us in that place.

  469. He will let us run around in circles.

  470. How many of you have been gone through that?

  471. I cannot wait. God, I cannot wait.

  472. He'll say run for some time. You burn that energy off.

  473. Eventually He will bring us into a place of meekness.

  474. That's the work of the Lord in US.

  475. Prowse is strength under control.

  476. War horses can be controlled with just a bit, because the

  477. minute the owner climbs on it knows I need to do what he tells

  478. me to do. And the War Horse is not scared

  479. by shield and spear and battle and guns raging.

  480. It's built for that. The endurance you got will build

  481. you for battle. Battle won't scare you.

  482. When I say battle, I don't mean warring in the flesh with

  483. people. I mean warring in the heavenlies

  484. against the things that are trying to take over your life.

  485. Don't fight your spouse after this because Tina said we should

  486. go fight with them. No, we are battle is against not

  487. against flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers.

  488. And if you are currently under attack, you need to ask God give

  489. me discernment. Like Abby said, we pray, we

  490. lament, then we discern. What am I fighting right now?

  491. Is it a spirit of lust? Is it a spirit of greed?

  492. Is it a spirit of usurping God? I come against that spirit in

  493. the name of Jesus. Don't fight flesh.

  494. They are not your enemy. There's an enemy behind them.

  495. War horses were built for battle and they exhibit meekness.

  496. You and I as sons and daughters, we are equipped with the armor

  497. of God for battle. And let me tell you, the battles

  498. never stop as when I watch my parents leading old age from at

  499. this age, I see the battles they have to fight and I'm like, I

  500. feel tired thinking of that age 70 plus God, what are you

  501. training them for? They're closer to eternity than

  502. all of us. Why do they need training?

  503. Then you see people in their 80s battling health issues.

  504. You go again, God, why? He loves us too much to let us

  505. be lethargic about our faith. You can never take your armor

  506. off. I just want to tell you that.

  507. Teach your children every morning to put on the armor of

  508. God and to cover themselves with the blood of the lamb.

  509. Teach them they're going into war zones.

  510. Schools are war zones. Teach them to walk in.

  511. Teach your children so that when they grow up, they walk in the

  512. power of God. Your battle armor can never be

  513. removed. It has to be dented.

  514. You come back to the Lord, He replenishes.

  515. This is a battle that has been waged for millennia.

  516. You're not alone. I think it was Peter who writes

  517. that you're not alone. All around the world, brothers

  518. and sisters are going through this thing and so you're not

  519. alone, but you need to be battle ready all the time.

  520. And the beautiful thing is this. The world talks about

  521. positivity. Oh, you can overcome.

  522. It's so interesting. Dolly talked about this in our

  523. first service. Good vibes only.

  524. You know how many people in the Hyderabad, the people met me and

  525. said I just love the vibe on you.

  526. How do you tell them that's the Holy Spirit?

  527. That is not me. My vibe, if you get to know me,

  528. is not great. Living like an overcomer is not

  529. about positive thinking. It's about promise based

  530. thinking. What does that look like when

  531. your marriage is hit? You don't believe the lie of the

  532. enemy who says in your ear it's over, it's not going to happen.

  533. You say no A3 chord strand is not quickly broken.

  534. You are declaring you shut the enemy down with the promise.

  535. When your children are hit, you will say it out loud.

  536. You will contend with him who contends with me, and he will

  537. save my children. Great shall be their peace.

  538. When your finances are hit, you will believe that Jehovah Jaira

  539. is my provider. I will not want.

  540. When you have been attacked and left alone and isolated, you

  541. will believe God. You have said you will never

  542. leave me nor forsake me. I believe that when yourself

  543. worth is hit, you remember you're the beloved of God.

  544. I am so loved. The overcomer knows their

  545. posture, knows their position. Yes, I feel like I'm getting

  546. thulped in the field of life, but in the spiritual realms, I'm

  547. an overcomer. So how do I think like it?

  548. How do I behave like it? I change it from positive

  549. thinking to promise based thinking.

  550. And finally, the last kind of reason that we need this power

  551. is the power to reign in life. Power to reign in life.

  552. Romans 5 verse 17 it says, For if by the trespass of the one

    Romans 5:17

  553. man death reigned through that one man, how much more will

  554. those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and the gift

  555. of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus

  556. Christ? God's abundant provision of

  557. grace and the gift of righteousness reign in life.

  558. This word reign is like taking dominion.

  559. Too many of us have given room for the enemy to come and rain.

  560. In certain spaces, our flesh has rained.

  561. In certain places, the enemy has taken pockets and so our raining

  562. capacity has decreased. Oh, you know what?

  563. I'm not able to control the thoughts of my mind.

  564. I'm able to control my work, but my mind is overrun.

  565. I'm, you know, I go downhill in my mind.

  566. That is the problem. You need to start raining in

  567. your mind. Maybe your body has been hit so

  568. much you've given in to lethargy and lying on that bed and you're

  569. refusing to get up and say, hey, this body is the body of the

  570. it's the temple of the Holy Spirit.

  571. Nothing will overrun it in Jesus name.

  572. I'm getting up and working. What is it that you are allowing

  573. to drive your life to the point of defeat?

  574. God is asking us to reign in life.

  575. What does it actually physically mean to reign in life?

  576. I want that picture, that last picture up of the horse.

  577. This is the image that never left my head.

  578. The enemy. As long as you leave him near

  579. your face and head, you'll keep hearing his sly whispers.

  580. He's the accuser of the brethren.

  581. He will tell you lies about yourself.

  582. He will tell you lies about your spouse.

  583. He will tell you lies about life.

  584. He will tell you lies about lies about God.

  585. He belongs under your feet. He has no business wrapping

  586. himself around you or your head. When you reign in life, you put

  587. him where he belongs. He belongs under your feet.

  588. Those who are overcomers, those who have understood what it

  589. means to build endurance, know where the enemy belongs.

  590. Don't give the enemy a seat at your table.

  591. He should not have the benefit. When I say enemy, not again

  592. human, it is the the Prince of darkness.

  593. Many of us have allowed him into our homes in the guise of an

  594. exercise program, in the guise of a book we have read, in the

  595. guise of people we have engaged. When habits we are indulging in.

  596. He is seated at our table, driving the culture of our

  597. homes, our marriages, our children's lives.

  598. Many times it's nothing lustful or greedy.

  599. It could be simple demonic entry of fear.

  600. I've heard myself many times say don't do that, don't do that.

  601. You might fall. Oh my gosh, you might.

  602. They won't be doing anything, just be running around like

  603. kids. But my fear, which I've invited

  604. into my life, is seated at the table and driving the narrative

  605. of my home. I think it was Lisa Bevier who

  606. said some of you are so fearful of something happening to your

  607. child that you're not letting anything happen for them.

  608. What is sitting at your table that belongs under your feet?

  609. If he said I have given you all authority to trample snakes and

  610. scorpions, they belong there. They don't belong at our tables.

  611. They don't belong in our ears. They definitely don't belong on

  612. our phones or iPads. Get it out.

  613. Trample it. One of the things that I have

  614. found is I, like I've shared many times, fear is something

  615. I've grappled with of late. I'm finding that fear is almost

  616. like a shadow. It's nothing.

  617. Many of our fears are irrational.

  618. Many of our feelings that we are feeling are driven by fear.

  619. Go to the root. Put it under your feet.

  620. Remind yourself, this is under my feet.

  621. You don't have a hold on me. I'm going to do the thing I was

  622. created for. I'm going to do the thing that I

  623. feel most terrified about because God, if you are in it, I

  624. will trust you. You were built for backing.

  625. You are an overcomer. You are being.

  626. You are being trained to endure, and what belongs under your feet

  627. should stay under your feet. Now, this is the interesting

  628. thing. When I was preparing this, I was

  629. like, but Lord, OK, I'll you've trained me in this.

  630. I know for 42 years. And I realized that when I was

  631. reading Jeremiah 12 that more is coming.

  632. The battles never end. The snakes never end.

  633. When we were leaving Varanasi, Jeremy prayed over us and he

  634. told us both. I see a gate.

  635. There's a transition season. You're entering into something

  636. new. You're entering paths no one has

  637. walked before. And I received it excitedly.

  638. And this morning during worship, the Lord was like, you remember

  639. what a new path looks like. Picture a road.

  640. There's no Rd. It's just a field, tall grass.

  641. When you step into it, you don't know what's in the grass.

  642. You see new snakes, new opposition, higher level of

  643. battle. It's never the same.

  644. I want us to go back to Jeremiah that chapter.

  645. I want the next verse up on the screen as well, which is about

  646. the tickets of Jordan, Jeremiah 12, five and six.

  647. If you have raced with men on foot and have worn you out, how

  648. can you compete with horses? If you stumble in safe country,

  649. how will you manage in the tickets by the Jordan?

  650. The Jordan was so luscious in water it would overflow its

  651. banks that there was such thick vegetation on either side.

  652. But the thick vegetation meant it hid lions, it hid all kinds

  653. of reptiles. So it was a land of promise, but

  654. it had higher level of backing. So you're going to face

  655. unexpected things. You're going to have surprise,

  656. not such a great surprise. You're going to have attacks

  657. from different directions. But you would have got endurance

  658. built from the previous season. You know your position as an

  659. overcomer. It's not going to intimidate you

  660. because you know what? Now you're stepping into a place

  661. of inheritance. Hey, this part, this thing that

  662. I've been fighting is mine for the taking.

  663. Now you become understanding of that.

  664. You've come discerning of that. So the war does not scare you.

  665. The battle doesn't scare you because you're now prepared to

  666. run with horses. And so I want to encourage you.

  667. I want us to go back to that first verse, Ephesians 119 to

  668. 23. I'm reading it from The Passion

  669. this time. I pray that you will continually

  670. experience the immeasurable greatness of God's power made

  671. available to you through faith. Then your lives will be an

  672. advertisement of this immense power as it works through you.

  673. This is the mighty power that was released when God raised

  674. Christ from the dead and exalted Him to the place of highest

  675. honour and supreme authority in the heavenly realm.

  676. And now He's exalted as first above every ruler, authority,

  677. government and realm of power in existence.

  678. He is gloriously enthroned over every name that is ever praised,

  679. not only in this age, but in the age that is coming.

  680. And He alone is the leader and source of everything needed in

  681. the Church. God has put everything beneath

  682. the authority of Jesus Christ and has given Him the highest

  683. rank above all others. And now we, His Church, are His

  684. body on the earth, and that which films fills Him who is

  685. being filled by it. I love this.

  686. Your lives will be an advertisement of this immense

  687. power as it works through you. Are you prepared for that?

  688. Because when you say yes to being grown in endurance, when

  689. you say I'll stand as an overcomer, when you say Lord, I

  690. want to reign in Christ, He will fill you with this power and

  691. it'll be made evident to all around you.

  692. Let's face it, we're entering a global season when there's so

  693. much hate against Christians globally, be it America, be it

  694. Europe, be it Asia, the Christians are looked at like,

  695. you know, the scum of the earth many times.

  696. And then there's our brethren who are in the Muslim tribe.

  697. They are looked down on. And then there are other tribes

  698. and people who are also image bearers, right?

  699. And there is a season now which is coming where there will be so

  700. much persecution. But the revival will happen

  701. because the Church of Jesus stays faithful to their mandate

  702. and allows the power of God to course through them.

  703. Because it is only when people see the power of God in us, they

  704. will be saved. Its words are not going to be

  705. enough. Our spoken words may not do it,

  706. but it's going to happen. When believers in ordinary homes

  707. and colleges and offices just say can I pray for you?

  708. And when you pray, when the transference of power happens,

  709. something will shift, lives will be changed.

  710. We need the power if we are going to make a difference in

  711. the rooms we enter. So even as I close, when we

  712. walked into their house, they have a house in Varanasi which

  713. is like actually 3 apartments put together.

  714. The owner lady built it for her children.

  715. She and the kids are not there. So they took up the whole thing

  716. and can we put up the picture on the gate?

  717. And this was the picture that they they had set up an

  718. enterprise and behind which to do all their work.

  719. And this was the picture, it said Mighty River Adventures.

  720. So it would have been like a travel agency through which they

  721. get people and then they would work and they would evangelise

  722. through it. That was the plan.

  723. Now the Cafe has happened. So Jeremy said we're not going

  724. to stick with this name anymore. But when I was preparing this

  725. from Monday onwards. This really stuck with me, so I

  726. took a picture because I don't know what God was trying to tell

  727. me. And on Wednesday evening as I

  728. was preparing, I was asking God. Lord, I know there are areas in

  729. my life I live powerlessly. I complain instead of raining,

  730. you know, there are areas I'm weak.

  731. Lord, can you help me? How do I access this power?

  732. And he reminded me of Ezekiel chapter 47.

    Ezekiel 47 chapter mention

  733. So when you go home, you're not going to read it.

  734. It's a beautiful chapter of the river of God flowing from the

  735. Tabernacle. And he talks about, I'm just

  736. going to give you a paraphrase. You can read it for yourself

  737. when you go home. Ezekiel 47 this, this Angel is

  738. measuring the cubits and saying 1000 cubits.

  739. He measures an ankle depth river.

  740. It's trickling out of the temple, but it's magnifying when

  741. it's flowing right And it's first, first thousand cubits,

  742. it's just ankle depth. Then he measures the next 1000

  743. cubits, 1000 cubits is about 1500 feet.

  744. He next measures the next thing, it's waist depth and then it's

  745. above him. He has to swim through it.

  746. And then he quick, the Angel brings Ezekiel back to the

  747. banks. And then he says, did you see

  748. what just happened? And I don't know.

  749. Ezekiel was like us. He's a bit slow.

  750. He didn't get it. Then he pointed out the whole

  751. river and said, look at this river.

  752. Luscious trees bearing fruits around the year are found on the

  753. banks and the river is so filled with life.

  754. Fish is growing in abundance. And then there are fishermen

  755. standing at different places. The names of the places are

  756. mentioned who are fishing and catching these different

  757. varieties of fish. Now we can interpret it in a

  758. million ways, but anytime the river of God is mentioned, it's

  759. talking with the Spirit of God. If you and I do not go in and

  760. stand in this river, we are not going to get the power of God.

  761. Many of us want the power. I read the Bible, I pray great.

  762. How much time do you spend standing in the river of God?

  763. What is this river of God? Jesus said in John Chapter 7.

    John 7 chapter mention

  764. If anyone thirsts, come to me. Out of Him will flow rivers of

  765. life, which means when I sit every day as a discipline with

  766. the creator of the world, when I'm sitting there with him, I am

  767. telling him spirit of God just flood my soul, flood my life.

  768. Take everything that's not of Maine and Washington it you've

  769. seen when you spray a horse things that don't have to be the

  770. go and when God fills you up, then you come into the House of

  771. God Southern. Many people have told us both we

  772. sense a river flowing here. I want to ask you, are you

  773. someone who's contributing to the flow of the river here, or

  774. are you a dam that's blocking up the flow of God?

  775. Because it may be time to undamp some of those things in our

  776. lives. It could be sin, it could be

  777. anger, it could be hate. It could be a secret life that

  778. no one knows. It could be an agenda that no

  779. one understands or knows, but you know, that is preventing the

  780. flow of God. The river flows, yes.

  781. When you come here, you contribute to the flow because

  782. you've received Jesus, you're receiving from him, you're

  783. pouring out. So when we are speaking, when

  784. Andrea encourages me, it's like the river gushes towards me,

  785. fills me up when I speak over Joyce, it pours out towards her

  786. when she speaks to you. See how it works?

  787. No wonder the Spirit is gushing because each of you are conduits

  788. for the power of God. But you and I will miss out on

  789. that if we are not finding ourselves in the river

  790. regularly. And when I say regularly, I mean

  791. all day, every day. Imagine what it would look like

  792. if our homes were just rivers in itself, where we're soaked in

  793. the presence of God. People walk in there washed by

  794. the Spirit of God. They are encouraged by the

  795. Spirit of God. They are blessed.

  796. We don't have to say a word. The Spirit of God does his work.

  797. And so even now as we close, we are going to pray for that power

  798. to be unleashed in your life. That is what we have been

  799. praying for this whole week. Mighty river adventures.

  800. You want an adventurous life, you need the Holy Spirit in it.

  801. You need to get rid of those. You know those hang ups you have

  802. about the Holy Spirit and say God, I'm here in abandoned,

  803. ready to receive whatever you are giving me, ready to go where

  804. you are asking me. You asked me to pull up my

  805. stakes and move to another place.

  806. I'll do it. You're asking me to do this new

  807. thing in my job. I will do it.

  808. When life is lived in the river, it's adventurous, it's exciting.

  809. We hope you enjoyed today's message and we're blessed.
