Church, I'm going to invite you if you can, friend. If you can join me, I'm going to be
-
13. This is where the Holy Ghost has led me today, and I believe that, amen, God has put
-
a word in my heart. It reads as follows, Then Moses said to God, Indeed, when I come to the
-
children of Israel and say to them, The God of our fathers has sent me to you. And they
-
say to me, What is his name? What then, or what shall I say to them? And God said to Moses, I am who I am.
-
And he said, Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, I am, has sent me to you. Moreover, God
-
said to Moses, Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, The Lord God of your fathers, the God of
-
Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob has sent me to you. This is my name forever, and this
-
is my memorial to all generations. Amen. With God's help today, I want to preach on this, this thought.
-
What is his name? What is his name? Church friend, I'm going to invite you to pray with me right now.
-
I know we've been worshiping. I know we've already been praying, but we're going to ask God, especially
-
now to speak to us for him to have his way. God, I come before you today. I want to thank you
-
for meeting us in this place. We do not take your presence for granted. We do not overlook
-
the sweetness of your glory, the power of your anointing that is in this place. God, and I ask
-
God that as we go into your word, that you will speak to us, God, that you will challenge us,
-
that you will encourage us, transform us, God. Father, I right now bind every, every spirit
-
that is contrary to the spirit of God, and we lose the power. We lose the anointing in this place
-
in the name of Jesus. God, have your way, Lord. Touch my lips of clay and put your word in my
-
mouth and be glorified in Jesus' mighty name. Can somebody say amen? Amen. You may be seated
-
in the presence of God. What is in a name? It's been said that a person's name is to that person
-
the sweetest and most important sound in any language. Since birth, you have been conditioned
-
to respond to your name, and the sound of your name at times will cut through all of the noise,
-
all of the distractions that are happening around you. You may remember those moments
-
as a child when, despite everything you're hearing, despite the commotion, despite the busyness of what
-
you were doing, when your parents shouted or said your name, you, you heard it, and just the hearing
-
of your name registered in you. It awoken something in you. It called for your attention, and when
-
you address someone by his or her name, what you are doing is acknowledging their importance.
-
But the fact is, it's hard to remember names. How many of us have ever said this before?
-
I'm good with faces, but I'm bad with names. Amen? Anybody else out there like that? How many of you
-
know the sheer embarrassment of somebody who comes up to you and remembers your name? Jacob,
-
how are you doing? And you start to break out into a panic, a cold sweat breaks out on your
-
forehead, and you're getting nervous. Why? Because you don't remember their name.
-
And thank God we're in a church, right? Because you can always get yourself out by just saying,
-
brother or sister? Hey, brother, how you doing? Amen. That's a get out of jail free card when
-
you don't remember their name. But sometimes you can't go anywhere and you're just like waiting
-
for it to come to you. Amen. And there is something about remembering people's names that
-
that is just special to them. They never forget that our names are incredibly important.
-
They're incredibly important part of our character. And aside from carrying deep, personal,
-
and familial connection, names gives us a sense of who we are and the communities in which we belong
-
and our place in the world. I want to tell you that your name is in many ways your identity.
-
Your name is your identity. And when people call you by your name, what they are doing is
-
they're calling upon you. That's what we respond to. And that is in many ways the way that we
-
understand ourselves. Sometimes when you have a moment of reflection and you need to kind of
-
talk to yourself, I know maybe you don't admit doing that, but sometimes we've got to talk to
-
ourselves and maybe even look ourselves in the mirror and say our name and just the speaking
-
of our own name to ourselves has some meaning. And if you can understand these things, then you
-
can understand these reasons, then you may understand why God is so sensitive about his name. Amen.
-
And why his name is so powerful. And why he told Moses these words that when people ask or
-
when they mention this, what is his name, you ought to tell them these words. I am who I am.
-
He said, I want you to tell them that I am sent you. Somebody say, I am.
-
Now according to Egyptian theology and philosophy, you could defeat a God if you knew his secret name.
-
This is how they thought. And this is something that the Hebrews, that generation grew up in
-
in Egyptian theology and philosophy would have understood that if a God reveals his secret name,
-
you can defeat that God. But when the one true God said, this is what you want to tell them,
-
you tell them that I am that I am. And what God was essentially telling Moses was, I'm not afraid
-
for them to know my name. In fact, I want them to know. I'm not afraid to reveal my name to you,
-
Moses. I'm not afraid to reveal who I am. And when God described himself as the I am,
-
he was revealing in essence his divine nature as the all eternal one, as the all
-
existent, self-existent one, as the all great and mighty God, the omnipresent one, the omnipotent
-
one, the omniscient one, the Lord of glory. He was declaring to himself, to his servant,
-
Moses, who would also stand before Pharaoh and declare the emancipation of God's people
-
after generations of slavery. He was announcing to him and to all of his people that I am
-
the God of glory. I am the only one, hallelujah. And he echoed the words that he would one day
-
speak in revelations one and eight, saying, I am the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end.
-
Who he is, who is, who was and who is to come, the almighty God. I have come today to preach to you
-
about the name of God. I have come today to tell you that God has a name and that name is worthy
-
to be praised and that name is worthy to be glorified and that name is worthy to be magnified
-
and that name is high and lifted up and there is no other name. I wish somebody can bless that name
-
today. I said I wish somebody can bless that name today. I am who I am is what God told Moses to
-
tell the people and I am who I am is also a Hebrew idiom meaning. It's a Hebrew expression meaning
-
that when you get there I will be there. God wasn't just saying I am who I am because he didn't know
-
what else to say. God didn't run out of words. He was expressing a very powerful and divine principle
-
to Moses. He wanted Moses to understand something about his existence, about his nature, and about
-
how awesome and sovereign that he is and he says I am that I am or I am who I am and what he's
-
telling him is that I am everything Moses that you need me to be. Hallelujah. He was telling him
-
I will always be what you need me to be. I will always be there before you get there. I will always
-
be at any point that you are in this life. Moses I want you to understand that I am whatever you
-
need from me I am whatever you desire from me I am how many of you under the sound of my voice
-
today understand this about God that no matter where you go in this world no matter what position
-
you find yourself in no matter where you are headed we serve a God that stands at the end and from
-
the beginning and no matter where we traverse to no matter where we progress to that God is
-
already there I wish I had a witness in the house today I said I wish I had a witness in the house
-
today we serve a God that is greater than everything that we could ever go through and he is already
-
there wherever I go and that's why I am in churus today that's why I can lift up my head today
-
and realize that no matter where I find myself in this world the Holy Spirit is already there
-
David said if I lay my head in hell you are there if I rise to the mountain you are there I cannot
-
escape you God my God is everywhere all at the same time he is a God of great glory he is a God
-
who is there when you get there and I've got to understand we've got to understand that when we
-
talk to God about what's going on when we pray we need to know that God is already there
-
God is somebody say he's already there come on say
-
he's already there and if you need God today I just want to give you some a few things for you
-
to get into your spirit and take somebody needs God today I mean everybody today needs God but
-
there is somebody right now who just needs to know that there is a God that you can call on
-
and I want to tell you number one is that if you need God all you got to do is call his name
-
whoo my God hallelujah I said all you got to do is call his name in the Old Testament
-
people could call on the name of the Lord and this practice started three generations after Adam
-
it says in Genesis 4 26 and asked for Seth to him also a son was born and he named him Enoch
-
watch this then men began to call on the name of the Lord three generations after Adam his
-
grandson generation Enoch was born and at this point in time men or humanity began to call
-
on the name of the Lord something was going on in the earth something was taking place in in
-
society something was happening throughout the world to to trigger this and to initiate this
-
desire within man to begin to call on the name of the Lord Enoch his name is significant and this
-
is probably a hidden clue for us today as to why men began to call upon his name Enoch's name
-
it means several things it means mortal frail miserable and incurable hallelujah Enoch his name
-
describes the sinful status of the world at that time three generations from the fall of man
-
three generations from the garden of Eden can I preach like I want to today three generations
-
from paradise three generations from it being the ideal world that God had created it to be
-
three generations from a perfect sinless innocent society and three generations later the world
-
had come become so perverse and so backward and so diabolical and so upside down and so needy and
-
broken that this boy Enoch was born and I think they named him that to symbolize and to embody
-
everything that was happening around them and it tells us something about our own lives we like
-
Enoch are mortal we are mortal what does that mean that means that we are earthly beings susceptible
-
to the realities of a broken world we are susceptible to the realities of a fallen world
-
we are mortal beings we are vulnerable to sickness we are vulnerable to the problems and the cares
-
of this life like Enoch not only are we mortal but we are also frail what does that mean it means
-
that we are in our own strength utterly powerless to lift ourselves out of the condition that we
-
are in that there is nothing within our self there is nothing intrinsically within us that can lift
-
us out of the clay of sin that can lift us out of where we are in our depravity in our failure
-
we are frail we are frail oh my god and as a result of being both mortal and frail humans are also
-
miserable because we are mortal and because we are frail we are left with our own devices
-
and we are hopelessly unhappy and discontent nothing seems to satisfy my god I'm gonna minister
-
today nothing seems to satisfy no nothing nothing seems to quench that aching thirst
-
nothing seems to satisfy the groaning of our hearts and we are we are miserable there is just
-
nowhere we can find solace there is just nothing we can do and that leads us to that final state
-
where man realizes that because I am mortal and because I am frail and miserable I am incurable
-
there is no man-made antidote there is no earthly solution my god I wish I had some help today
-
there is nothing on this side of heaven that can offer me a remedy for my sin-sick self and so
-
because there is nothing I can do because I am mortal and frail and miserable and incurable
-
there is no doctor there is no lawyer there is no physician there is no philosopher I
-
god my god I wish I had some help there is nobody that can offer you anything but there is a name
-
I said there is a name that I can call on today when nothing else can work and everything else
-
fails there is a name I wish somebody would call on him right now I wish somebody would
-
believe with all of their hearts my bible tells me that wherever you call on the name of the lord
-
you shall be saved I come to tell you you may have called a lot of people in your life you may
-
have called your doctor you may have called your therapist you may have called your boss you may
-
have called your friend but I want to tell you a number that you can call today you can call on
-
him and he'll answer your prayer I wish I had some help today you can how many of you are a witness
-
that you can call on him I said how many of you are a witness that you can call on him
-
it tells me my bible that nor is there salvation in any other for there is on there is no other name
-
given among men under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved there is only one name
-
today there is only one name and God wants you to know that name and I'm going to reveal it if you
-
don't know what it is you're going to understand it very clearly before this service and before
-
this message is over the most common name for God in the Old Testament was Yahweh or the English
-
version of Jehovah this is how God was known among his people and this was the most common term they
-
used title for God and there were many compound names throughout the bible there's a long list I
-
could read to you today but I'll just read a few of my personal favorites there was Jehovah Elohim
-
and this was this meant up the Lord our creator there was Jehovah Jireh the Lord our provider how
-
many of you know him to be your provider come on I said how many of you know him to be your provider
-
he is Jehovah Rafa which meant the Lord our healer how many of you know he's a healer today
-
oh hallelujah has he here is anybody got a testimony when God healed you oh hallelujah he is Jehovah
-
Nisi the Lord our banner or our miracle worker God is a miracle working God hallelujah he is Jehovah
-
Shalom the Lord our peace and there were many names upon which people called upon God when they
-
needed him and different types of names to describe different things that God did and that God could
-
do but in the New Testament which we are now a part of God accompanied the revelation of himself
-
in flesh with a whole new name and that name today I have come to emphatically declare it to your
-
spirit that name today is a name unlike any other that name today is a name that both includes and
-
surpasses every compound name revealed in the Old Testament that name today is a name that once it's
-
uttered and believed upon can absolutely revolutionize your very life from the crown of your head to the
-
soles of your feet that name is a name that even the dembles would tremble that name is a name that
-
can make all the difference my god I want a priest that name is a name that once it gets it to your
-
spirit I don't care what you're dealing with I don't care what you're going it can change everything
-
and I've come to tell you and announce it to your heart today that his name is Jesus
-
I think we ought to give him praise right now I think somebody ought to clap your hands I think
-
somebody ought to stand up on your feet and give that name the glory that it deserves
-
hallelujah hallelujah the name Jacob can't save you the name David can't save you the name Ben
-
can't do anything for you but if you call on that name oh I wish somebody with the Holy Ghost today
-
would call on that name Jesus is the name of God I feel the Holy Ghost in this place right now
-
I feel the Holy Ghost if you don't feel it it's because you don't want to feel it but there
-
is something happening in this house right now it's the Holy Ghost because whenever you lift up
-
that name whenever you magnify that name you bring in the presence of Almighty God
-
oh hallelujah hallelujah what did you just worship him for another few moments
-
hallelujah it is the name of supreme power it is the name of supreme authority it's the only
-
saving name with all due respect Buddha can't save you with all due respect Muhammad can't save you
-
with all due respect Allah can't do none for you with all due respect confucius can't help you
-
with all due respect christian can't do anything for you but there is a name that is above all
-
names come on now somebody I said there is a name that is above all names my bible says this I need
-
some help right here therefore God has highly exalted him and given him a name which is above
-
every name that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow oh those in heaven and those on earth
-
and those under the earth you stepped into an apostolic Jesus name Holy Ghost field
-
Pentecostal one god servant church services afternoon and we are not afraid we are not ashamed of the
-
name of Jesus we gotta talk about it we gotta sing about it we gotta shout about it we used to say
-
don't let his name go down somebody just needs to let the Holy Ghost move in you
-
I don't even know if I'll get to all of my messes today but that's all right because there is a
-
name that can save you right now there is a name that can heal you right now there oh my god
-
you don't have to say your way you don't have to say Jehovah those names are nice but there is a
-
name that is greater than all of that the angel came to Mary and said there is a name and you
-
shall call his name Jesus I wonder if I got any apostolics in the house today that are thankful
-
that are grateful that you know his name
-
hallelujah hallelujah I wish somebody would just let this get into your spirit right now
-
there is a name
-
oh hallelujah hallelujah something happens when we call that name something happens when we call
-
that name miracles happen when we call that name I need to help somebody today help you to call on
-
Jesus this afternoon there is no there is no other name and God has always desired she call
-
her mama yeah who god help me lord I don't know how I don't know how far further I can go right now
-
head up a baby yeah she call her mama I want everybody praying right now I come against every
-
spirit that's trying to resist what God is doing right now and I bind it in the name of Jesus I bind
-
it right now God wants to move and I pray that the holy ghost would saturate somebody from the
-
top of their head to the soles of their feet this is my god this is what God is wanting to do
-
God is saying I need you to exalt my name again it's not about the preacher it's not about the
-
praise team it's not about the musicians all that is wonderful but if we don't have the name we don't
-
have anything oh I wish I had somebody instead of we don't have the name we don't got nothing
-
alamayashama I am let me tell you something right now how about if you want to keep praying pray
-
I am more than ever going to be 100 unapologetic about being a preacher and being a church of the name
-
unapologetic about being a church of the name someone say the name come on shout and say the name
-
that's right don't get it twisted don't think otherwise there's nothing else that we can do
-
if we don't have the name oh hallelujah Jesus it's the only name it's the only name and I want to
-
tell you I may only have time to get to this but let me say that not only are we to call on that name
-
but we've got to carry on that name oh rabbi you've got to understand church hear me those that are
-
here and those that are watching me via live stream you need to understand that it's not just about
-
calling on the name there are many today that are calling on his name and that are saying wonderful
-
things and God in his mercy and in his grace will heal and show up whenever his name is mentioned
-
but I need you to understand that just because someone calls on the name is not a validation of
-
their lifestyle and not a validation of who they are or not a validation of their doctrine not a
-
validation of their theology you can call on his name and God will be good enough that he might
-
bless you but there is also a people of his name there is a people and God has always desired not
-
just for somebody to call on his name but for somebody to bear his name starting with the
-
nation of Israel he wanted them to be a people of the name and in Deuteronomy this and 28 and 10 it
-
says that all the peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the Lord and
-
they shall be afraid of you let me tell you something the devil's not afraid of the degrees on your
-
wall the devil's not afraid hell's not nervous about who you know how much money you have in your
-
account or what kind of car you drive the devil's not nervous the enemy does not care about who you
-
are in fact he don't even care what your name is brother or sister because your name don't move hell
-
and don't scare the devil but when you get a revelation that you are a people of the name
-
and that the name of Jesus has been applied to your life that will shake the devil in his boots
-
if we were determined to be a people of his name there is no devil in hell there is no weapon formed
-
against the people of God that shall be able to prosper are you hearing what i'm saying today
-
there is nothing the devil can do to stop a church that is harness and bearing the name of God oh my
-
Lord i want to be a people of his name how many of you want to be a people of his name oh hallelujah
-
hallelujah hallelujah oh i want to be that i want to be that if i don't get the name right it doesn't
-
matter what programs we have it doesn't matter what else we do we've got to get the name right we
-
got to get it right we got to get it right and one of the and one of the commandments that God gave
-
to Israel out of the ten commandments he tells them you shall not take the name of the Lord your God
-
in vain now some of you were brought up to think just like i was at one point that that only applied
-
to like using the name of God as a swear word you know don't use God's name like that you know
-
using you know casually just just flippantly and can i tell you that that applies you know we we
-
have to respect the name of God with our words but it goes beyond that this command didn't have to do
-
with just how we talk about God with our mouth what this is telling us here that verb to take on
-
when it says you shall not take that word in the original language means bear he's saying you shall
-
not bear the name of the Lord your God in vain what God was trying to tell his people was that we
-
are not to just wear his name like a label or a brand and then not live a life that is resembling
-
of that name hallelujah what God is saying is that if i am holy you've got to be holy what God is
-
saying it's a my god hama hallelujah what God is saying is if you're gonna bear my name you're
-
gonna represent me in this world you're gonna be my ambassadors you gotta bear the name someone
-
say bear his name bear his name and God was saying don't just put on some people they just slap on
-
apostolic like it's a brand name you know slap on holy ghost and slap on new sin that that's all
-
right people slap on that but that's not gonna that's not what God's looking for God is saying I
-
want you to I want you to live up to it I don't just want you to wear it like a badge of honor
-
I want you to live it too my god I want you to be a people of my name no wonder when Jesus
-
commanded his disciple I'm almost when he commanded his disciples to go forth into all the world he
-
said go therefore and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name someone say the name
-
oh I'm gonna need some help right now I said somebody say the name in the name of a father
-
and of the son and of the holy spirit and you read that over and over you'll see that that word
-
name is singular and not plural what God was saying to his disciple is there is only one name
-
that can save you there is only one name that can sanctify you there is only one name
-
that can beautify you there is only one name that can raise you up there is only one name
-
that you can wear and it's the name of Jesus somebody shout his name today
-
come on somebody shout his name today oh when you are baptized you are not baptized in the name of
-
the father and of the son and of the holy ghost there is only one name that can save you you've
-
got to go down in the name of Jesus for the remission of your sins you've got to go down
-
into the waters and be born again but it's his name somebody shout his name right now
-
oh hallelujah I don't know about you but I get excited when I think about the name of Jesus
-
oh my god I get excited when I think about that powerful name I've been in church all of my life
-
I grew up sleeping under the pews churches all that I know I can sing all of them songs
-
I know when to clap I know when to be quiet I've been in this for a while I've heard all of the
-
messages and I've heard all the things but there is something that even to this day really lights
-
my fire there is something that gets down into the inside of my spirit it's whenever we begin
-
to talk about that name whenever we begin to preach about that name and whenever we begin to worship
-
that name I'm so glad I know his name today I'm so glad I know his name today is there somebody
-
that will join me right now and give God about 20 seconds of glory 20 seconds of praise 20 seconds
-
of worship I love your name God I love your name God your name is the name your name is Jesus
-
I feel the Holy Ghost right now
