  1. I feel something so strongly in my spirit today,

  2. and God spoke to me this week, and he brought

  3. me back to this passage, and I just want to be

  4. a blessing to somebody today. I want to minister.

  5. Mark 3, verse 1, it reads this way, and he entered

    Mark 3:1

  6. the synagogue again, and a man was there who

  7. had a withered hand. So they watched him closely,

  8. whether he would heal him. on the Sabbath so

  9. that they might accuse him. And he said to the

  10. man who had the withered hand, step forward.

  11. Somebody say step forward. And he said to them,

  12. is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to

  13. do evil, save life or to kill? But they kept

  14. silent. And when he had looked around at them

  15. with anger, being grieved by the hardness of

  16. their hearts, he said to the man, stretch out

  17. your hand. And he stretched it out and his hand

  18. was restored as whole as the other. Today, I'm

  19. going to preach with God's help. Stretch out

  20. your hand. Stretch out your hand. Someone say,

  21. stretch out your hand. I'm going to invite you.

  22. I want you to unite with me in prayer right now

  23. for God to do the impossible in our midst. I'm

  24. going to invite you to close your eyes. If you

  25. want to lift your hands, you can do that. If

  26. you want to extend your hands this way, you can.

  27. But I want you to, with faith today, I want you

  28. to unite in prayer and let's believe God to do

  29. something in our midst. Father, we love you today.

  30. We thank you for your presence that is abiding

  31. in this place. You were waiting for us. The moment

  32. that we stepped in, you were already here, God.

  33. Father, but we're not just here just to sing

  34. and have a good time, but to be strengthened,

  35. changed, convicted, empowered by the word. And

  36. I pray, God, that you would anoint the ears and

  37. the hearing of all that are gathered today, God,

  38. so that this word would fall on good ground.

  39. Father, right now, I declare healing in this

  40. place. I declare restoration in this house right

  41. now, God, of the mind, body, his soul, and spirit,

  42. God. God, from the crown of someone's head to

  43. the soles of their feet, God, I declare emphatically,

  44. Lord, restoration, God, and miracle power in

  45. their life today. Oh, hallelujah, God, I declare

  46. it, God, right now. And I bind, God, every spirit,

  47. God, contrary, every foul, every resistance,

  48. Lord. In the name of Jesus, God, and I declare,

  49. God, that your will be done on earth as it is

  50. in heaven today, God. We live you, Lord. Why

  51. don't we give God some glory right now? Come

  52. on, why don't we praise God in advance? Hallelujah.

  53. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Lord. Thank you,

  54. God. In Jesus' name, in Jesus' name. Amen. Amen.

  55. You may be seated in God's presence. Oh, hallelujah,

  56. Jesus. Help me today, Holy Ghost. The miracle

  57. that we read in this text is probably familiar

  58. to many of us, and it's certainly not the most

  59. dramatic miracle or healing that Jesus performed

  60. in his ministry. Here we have a nameless man

  61. who is not living with a life -threatening situation.

  62. There's no sense of urgency. It's not a race

  63. against time like we've seen in other miracles

  64. that Jesus performed in which time was of the

  65. essence. It was critical, urgent, or perhaps

  66. Death had already come, but in this case, what

  67. we find is just an individual with a crippling

  68. dilemma in his life, a physical need that had

  69. affected his entire way of life. But again, it

  70. was one of those things where it wasn't life

  71. -threatening. He wasn't in ICU. He wasn't on

  72. life support. They hadn't pronounced him dead.

  73. He just had a crippling problem in his life.

  74. He just had a withered hand. And he showed up

  75. that day to the synagogue, which was a place

  76. to come and hear the word of God. It was a religious

  77. place for the Jews to come and be taught. the

  78. Torah, we taught the law. And so he was there,

  79. perhaps like he had been every other Sabbath

  80. prior to that. The text would lead us to believe

  81. that the man had a habit of being there, that

  82. he was a regular attender, that he was someone

  83. who had the practice of being at the synagogue.

  84. And so in many respects, this was just, Any other

  85. Sabbath for him? Went through his routine and

  86. got ready, washed up, put on his Sabbath best,

  87. and went into the synagogue to hear the word.

  88. Perhaps he sat in his typical seat, did his normal

  89. routine, greeted people, did the thing that he

  90. normally does. All the while, he is cradling

  91. this secret. in his life and doesn't announce

  92. to anybody that he's got a problem. Doesn't come

  93. in, you know, seeking attention. In fact, the

  94. nature of his problem was one that he could hide

  95. and perhaps mask from others knowing what was

  96. going on. It wasn't like he was incapacitated.

  97. It wasn't as if though he was blind and needed

  98. someone to guide him. There was nothing on the

  99. surface that would announce to the public or

  100. others that he had a need in his life. So he

  101. was able to just, I guess you could say, slip

  102. under the radar. Just come to the synagogue Sabbath

  103. after Sabbath and worship and listen and all

  104. the while. being broken at the same time. And

  105. if you think about it, it's not so different

  106. from what happens today, even in the church.

  107. You know, it's possible to go to church Sunday

  108. after Sunday and still not get what you need

  109. from God and still be cradling something in your

  110. life that has withered, that is hurting, That

  111. needs healing. Week after week, same routine

  112. like this man, and not be completely healed.

  113. Totally free or whole in your life. And after

  114. a while, what begins to happen, the longer you

  115. live with a condition, whether it's physical,

  116. mental, emotional, the longer you live with a

  117. condition, the more you begin to accept it, its

  118. place in your life, you accommodate. You make

  119. concessions for it. You excuse its presence in

  120. your life. You just learn to live with whatever

  121. that is. You learn to live with that problem.

  122. You learn to live with that dilemma and just

  123. accept it as normal. This is just the way it

  124. is. Like we say, you know, it is what it is,

  125. right? This is just my lot in life. Maybe this

  126. is just the thorn that God won't remove, or this

  127. is just my life. This is what I'm going to have

  128. to deal with. And so you get to a point as time

  129. goes on where, if we're being honest, you don't

  130. even expect anything to change anymore. Oh, I'm

  131. going to need some help today. You don't even

  132. expect it. You don't even pray for a miracle.

  133. You just stop asking or you stop believing. Your

  134. mind just kind of goes somewhere else, even when

  135. the preacher makes that altar call or even when

  136. that moment comes in front of you. It's just,

  137. you know, you learn to just sidestep or dodge.

  138. You know, that's not for me. That that's not

  139. my word or that's not because this is just my

  140. reality. And I'm just going to have to cradle

  141. this thing. I'm just going to have to deal with

  142. whatever this is. And so the longer time goes

  143. on, we just begin to accept those things. And

  144. I believe that that is probably what this man

  145. did. You know, not like he was complaining. He

  146. wasn't even calling out like others did. You

  147. know, son of David, have mercy on me. He just

  148. was minding his own business. Going to church,

  149. being a good, you know, just a good Sabbath attender

  150. and doing what he's supposed to do and probably

  151. not bothering anybody, minding his own business,

  152. you know, checking in, checking out. You know,

  153. he had his routine, and he was there not expecting

  154. anything to happen, but little did this man know

  155. that God had an appointment with him. Little

  156. did this man know that on that day, And then

  157. he woke up, brushed his teeth. Well, I don't

  158. know if he brushed his teeth. Hopefully he did.

  159. Amen. Brushed his teeth. Amen. Combed his hair

  160. with the good hand that he had. Or maybe his

  161. wife helped him. And we're going to go to church

  162. today. He just went out of religious duty. This

  163. is what we're supposed to do. This is what I've

  164. been taught to do. This is what I've been trained

  165. to do. So we're going to church. If he had kids,

  166. we're all going. Even if you don't want to, you're

  167. going. Get in the car. We're going to church.

  168. And so this was his mindset. But little did he

  169. know that on that day, God had pointed him out.

  170. God had marked him. God had set that day aside.

  171. That on this day, it would be like no other day

  172. that had ever occurred in this man's life. Because

  173. on this day, different than all the other days,

  174. Jesus was going to be in the house. And any time

  175. Jesus is in the house, my friend, that changes

  176. everything. Oh, I wish I had a witness here today.

  177. I said that changes everything. When Jesus is

  178. in the house, let me tell somebody today, anything

  179. can happen. I said anything could happen. Now,

  180. if it's just me in the house, you might be disappointed.

  181. If it's just your neighbor in the house, that

  182. might fail you. But if Jesus is in the house,

  183. I don't care how big, how ugly, how problematic

  184. your situation is in your life. If Jesus is here,

  185. anything is possible. So Jesus walked into the

  186. synagogue that day, not just to preach a sermon,

  187. but to perform a miracle, to heal and restore.

  188. But I want us to just kind of set the temperature

  189. for you in that room today, for you to understand

  190. that while this man's miracle or his need Doesn't

  191. rise to the level of urgency or importance as

  192. others that we read in the Gospels. There are

  193. some surrounding circumstances in that synagogue

  194. on that day that almost counted him out. That

  195. almost got in the way between him and his restoration.

  196. And so the background to the miracle, there's

  197. a few things to consider. I want us to consider

  198. the religious background. The religious background.

  199. Because as we read, you cannot read this short

  200. passage, and it occurs in all the other Gospels.

  201. You cannot read this short passage, all the Gospels

  202. except for John. You cannot read this short passage

  203. and not, if you really invest in the reading

  204. of it, feel that there is some tension in the

  205. room. Almost so thick you can cut it with a knife.

  206. As Jesus walks into the synagogue. He immediately

  207. realized not everyone is happy that he's there

  208. that day. Not everyone is happy that he's there.

  209. There were some Pharisees that were in the synagogue

  210. that day, and these Pharisees were up to no good

  211. in the sense that they were not there to believe.

  212. They were not there to really learn or change

  213. or respond to the word. They were there to resist

  214. and to find fault with what was going on. They

  215. were there as kind of like detectives and policemen

  216. to watch what was happening. And they were investing

  217. their time more into inspecting what was happening

  218. instead of benefiting from what was happening.

  219. And they wanted to catch Jesus. They wanted to

  220. catch him in a mistake so that they can accuse

  221. him of blasphemy. They can accuse him of whatever

  222. it is that would discredit his ministry. And

  223. these Pharisees were very religious people, ultra

  224. -religious, in fact. They were experts in the

  225. law. They knew it frontwards and backwards. These

  226. were people who invested their whole life into

  227. studying, practicing, and regulating the laws

  228. of Moses. And so when Jesus steps into the scene,

  229. He obviously threatened to upend all of the things

  230. that these that these men who many of them were

  231. were hypocritical in their in their life, because,

  232. you know, while they were like policing others

  233. and being the you know, the the watchmen of the

  234. religious community were hiding dead men's bones,

  235. you know, behind them said they they had issues

  236. of their own that they were not publicizing.

  237. But but the case being they were there that day.

  238. And they wanted to catch Jesus in a mistake so

  239. that they can discredit him and accuse him and

  240. say, ha, he's not the man you think he is. And

  241. they were religious. And this was the context,

  242. the religious context. Now, this is an important

  243. part of the story. We're going to get to some

  244. of the good stuff later and the restoration and

  245. the miracle, but it's important to understand

  246. the forces that are at work in this story and

  247. how they were working against Jesus Christ. Now,

  248. there's nothing wrong with religion. Even the

  249. Scripture says that pure religion is undefiled

  250. before God. Amen. What happens, however, is that

  251. religion can become bad if and when it misses

  252. the higher mission of Christ. When we become

  253. so religious or so routined or predictable in

  254. our spirituality that we try to put God in a

  255. box. Help me, whole legos today. We try to limit

  256. what God can do and how he can do it. Amen. And

  257. this is where religion can come bad because,

  258. you know, we can even become religious about

  259. our religion. We can become religious about,

  260. well, it's got to be this way and it's got to

  261. be that way and it's got to be. Now, God's a

  262. God of order. We understand that. But there comes

  263. a point in time where God is God and he will

  264. at times move in such a way that doesn't always

  265. line up or doesn't always move according to our

  266. expectations. And so what Jesus did is he challenged

  267. these people. He said, is it lawful? Because

  268. they had an issue with him working on the Sabbath

  269. because that was supposed to be a day of rest,

  270. not supposed to do anything. So he asked them,

  271. is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good? Or to

  272. do evil. To save life or to kill. And he's posing

  273. this simple but profound question to them. Like,

  274. what is more important today? That we be strict,

  275. ardent followers of, you know, just by the letter

  276. of the law to the point that someone misses their

  277. miracle? And look, the Bible says they kept silent.

  278. They kept silent. Why? Because they knew the

  279. answer. But they didn't want to confess it. The

  280. answer was, well, of course it's okay to make

  281. an exception sometimes. Of course it's okay.

  282. The law is not greater than a life being saved.

  283. And so they kept quiet. They didn't say nothing.

  284. No amens, no nothing. Not going to say nothing.

  285. I'm not even going to wink at him. Because they

  286. knew in their hearts. that they were wrong but

  287. they couldn't they didn't want to they didn't

  288. want to project that because they had an image

  289. to uphold they had a persona they had this idea

  290. that they wanted that you know we're superior

  291. we're better you see many times god wants to

  292. operate He wants to heal. He wants to deliver.

  293. This is where I'm going. I'm going somewhere

  294. with all of this. He wants to move. Amen, somebody.

  295. He wants to perform. He wants to move in our

  296. midst. He wants to deliver. He wants to set free.

  297. But the religious mindset can become an unbelieving

  298. mindset and says, well, now is not the right

  299. time. A religious mindset can become an unbelieving

  300. mindset that says, well, it's not the right Sunday.

  301. You're not the right preacher. They didn't sing

  302. the right song. It's not the right temperature.

  303. It's not a revival weekend. They didn't bring

  304. the brother, you know, who does this or that.

  305. It's not the right day. I'm not even wearing

  306. the right outfit. Oh, my God. I didn't bring

  307. my running shoes today. Hallelujah. Well, you

  308. got to bring them in the car at least. Hallelujah.

  309. You know, and we have all these parameters that

  310. we put. And what we're doing unknowingly is putting

  311. God in a box. And say, no, no, no, you can't

  312. move. Not today. I got plans after service. God

  313. can't move like that right now. You know, and

  314. so we've. We've got all these things that could

  315. get in the way of what God wants to do. And this

  316. is why we ought to, every time we come into the

  317. house of God, have an open agenda. Amen. A blank

  318. slate for what God can do in our life. Because

  319. this could be the day. I feel this in the heart.

  320. This could be the day right now. Could be the

  321. moment that God blesses you in such a way that

  322. erratically transforms the rest of your life.

  323. I wish I had a believer here this afternoon.

  324. Clap your hands and give God some praise today.

  325. And so Jesus didn't fit into their paradigm,

  326. their box. And so that's why they rejected it.

  327. And there are other times Jesus could not perform

  328. many miracles in certain places because of the

  329. unbelief. And the same thing can happen today.

  330. So this is the background, the religious background

  331. that Jesus is in the middle. But even that cannot

  332. stop a move of God. I mean, he did get angry.

  333. You read it. Jesus got angry. He was grieved

  334. by the hardness of these people's hearts. He

  335. said, man, why are you resisting so much? And

  336. he got grieved. But he said, you know, I'm going

  337. to show you something anyhow. I'm going to show

  338. you I'm God. And so today, we're taking the limits

  339. off of God. Hallelujah. We're saying, God, our

  340. prayer needs to be, God, have your way. Do what

  341. you want to do, Lord, in my life. And then there

  342. are the personal things, personal background

  343. that this man is dealing with. And I told you

  344. that his need was not urgent or life -threatening,

  345. but it was still life -crippling. And for him,

  346. It was everything. This is the man who learned

  347. how to function with a withered hand. Luke's

  348. gospel tells us it was his right hand. And he

  349. had accepted this condition, learned to live

  350. essentially with one hand tied behind his back.

  351. And this hampered his life in several ways. I

  352. want to point out a few of them for you today.

  353. I could go kind of deep into each one, but I'll

  354. just sort of highlight them for you. to see how,

  355. regardless of how insignificant it seems on the

  356. surface, this man's life was affected. Missed

  357. opportunities. Missed opportunity. His calling

  358. and career, both secularly and religiously or

  359. spiritually, were crippled by his unused potential.

  360. You realize, just like today, many of the tools

  361. are made. with a right -handed person in mind.

  362. I don't know how many left -handers I have out

  363. there. I know my son is one. We've got another

  364. over here. There's some stores where you can

  365. go and buy left -handed scissors. If you're a

  366. right -handed, you don't even think about that.

  367. Most scissors are made for right hands. You've

  368. got to buy left -handed scissors to do that.

  369. And back then, everything was made for the right

  370. hand. So, unless he had custom -made tools and

  371. all that, which I doubt he did, he was limited.

  372. Made it impossible for him to fulfill his potential

  373. and his calling, even if he can think it, dream

  374. it, imagine it. He couldn't materialize it in

  375. his life because he had one hand tied behind

  376. his back. Some of you today are dealing with

  377. something that's withering your sense of purpose

  378. and your potential. You say, ah. Now, pastor,

  379. it's nothing but, is it? Because are you living

  380. life with one spiritual hand tied behind your

  381. back? Oh, my God. Unable to reach your potential

  382. in the Lord. Secondly is his relationships were

  383. affected. The right hand, just like it is today

  384. in many cases, is the hand that we extend to

  385. greet, to shake someone's hand, to offer a hand.

  386. And without that hand, it limited his ability

  387. in social situations. Imagine every time somebody

  388. put out their hand to greet him. Hey, God bless

  389. you, brother so -and -so. And he's like, oh,

  390. you know, he doesn't know about my other hand.

  391. Imagine the awkwardness. So what does someone

  392. like that begin to do? Avoid situations where

  393. they have to shake people's hands. So he's probably

  394. the... First one to leave. Why? To avoid having

  395. to talk about, explain the hand. Then I got to

  396. go into the whole story of how it happened. I'd

  397. rather not even get into it. I'd rather just,

  398. you know, avoid it. And so imagine his relationships

  399. were strained because of that hand. Ah, now we're

  400. starting to see how this could have isolated

  401. him in some ways and kept him guarded and lonely

  402. and afraid to be, you know, misunderstood or

  403. judged or shamed because of that hand. And maybe

  404. there is somebody today that because of the crippling

  405. problem in your life, physically, spiritually,

  406. mentally, it has limited your ability to connect

  407. in fellowship and relationship. and connection

  408. with other people, with the body of Christ, with

  409. your loved ones, with your spouse, with your

  410. family, with your children. But let me tell you,

  411. when God restores that area of your life, it'll

  412. restore everything else in your life. Your relationships

  413. will get restored. Your marriage can be restored.

  414. Hallelujah. Even his worship is affected by it.

  415. Think of it. He couldn't lift both hands. We

  416. take that for granted, don't we? The worship

  417. leader said, lift your hands. And our hands go

  418. up. Imagine when they said lift your hands. You

  419. see the scriptures all throughout the Psalms.

  420. There were Psalms and there was times of rejoicing,

  421. lifting up of the hands. And when it's time to

  422. lift the hands, well, he's only got one. And

  423. I think God accepted that one hand. I don't think

  424. God rejected his worship because he only had

  425. one hand to lift, but this is more about how

  426. the man felt about it. The fact that, man, I

  427. really wish I could give God more of my worship.

  428. I envy the way that brother lifts up both hands,

  429. holy hands in the synagogue. I envy the way that

  430. family holds hands. Oh, you see, the husband's

  431. got one hand in the air, and then he holds his

  432. wife with the other hand. Oh, I wish I could

  433. do that. But he couldn't do any of those things.

  434. Why? Because he had a withered hand and it affected

  435. his ability to worship God the way that he really

  436. wanted you. And I said, maybe somebody today

  437. feels spiritually stuck like you're giving God

  438. incomplete worship. I really were. I can really

  439. worship the way that I want to. I wish I can

  440. really give God more of my praise and more of

  441. my worship. But this problem, this crippling

  442. thing in my heart, in my life, in my spirit is

  443. not allowing me to give. the real worship that

  444. I want to give him. Oh, but today you can lift

  445. up whatever worship you've got. You can give

  446. God even in the midst of your pain, even in the

  447. midst of your problem, and you'll watch how God

  448. will begin to move in the other areas of your

  449. life. But when God restores you... When God heals

  450. that withered place in your life and in your

  451. heart and in your car, when God heals it, he's

  452. going to restore your ability to worship him

  453. in a whole new dimension. Worship him. Can you

  454. imagine the next Sabbath he went to church? Can

  455. you imagine? He was probably like this, jazz

  456. hands, right? He's like, I'm back. Can you imagine

  457. his hands? Who's that brother back there? I don't

  458. know who he is. He kind of looked like brother

  459. so -and -so from last week. He said, yeah, but

  460. he's got both hands lifted, and he won't stop

  461. shaking them. Hey, when God. heals your life,

  462. when he heals your heart, you worship him in

  463. no other way. Somebody bless him right now. Somebody

  464. lift up the name of Jesus today. Just give me

  465. a few more moments of your time. Hallelujah.

  466. Broken blessings. I'll try to go a little quicker

  467. through these ones. The right hand was the hand

  468. used to transfer blessings throughout the Old

  469. Testament. This was the Hebrew custom that fathers

  470. would bless and would transfer wealth and all

  471. sorts of things. Even financial transactions

  472. were done with the right hand. Signatures with

  473. the right hand. And so without his right hand,

  474. he is limited in his ability to give, to impart,

  475. and to bless. And maybe perhaps you feel that

  476. way today. Oh, but God wants to restore your

  477. ability to bless again. He wants to restore your

  478. ability. Hallelujah. When he heals you, the door

  479. to being a blessing is going to be reopened in

  480. your life. Oh, hallelujah. And let's get to the

  481. last one, which was strength. He had a loss of

  482. strength. In the Bible, the right hand was symbolic

  483. of power and authority. Oh, the right hand. The

  484. Bible says Jesus sitting at the right hand of

  485. God. There's something about the right hand that

  486. represents salvation and power and authority.

  487. And when that hand was withered in his life,

  488. it represented a withering of strength and power

  489. in his life. This man felt powerless. He felt

  490. enabled in his life and in his home. But the

  491. moment that God began to restore him on that

  492. day, all of a sudden his power came back. of

  493. a sudden, he's got a renewed sense of strength

  494. in his life. All of a sudden, he believes, I'm

  495. not just going to barely hang on anymore. I'm

  496. not just going to barely make it anymore. I'm

  497. not just going to be hanging on by a spiritual

  498. thread anymore. I'm going to rise up. Hallelujah.

  499. He shall renew my strength. I'm going to walk

  500. and not be weary. I'm going to run and not faint.

  501. That's my God. He shall give me the strength

  502. of eagles wings. And these are the things that

  503. would come back to his life in these moments

  504. that God was there in. in the synagogue to deliver

  505. him, to restore him. Oh, there is so much we

  506. can look at these things, so many things that

  507. we can relate to our own life, but the keys to

  508. receiving our miracle today, the key, number

  509. one, is you got to step out. Somebody say, step

  510. out. Come on, shout, step out. The Bible says

  511. that he said to the man who had a withered hand,

  512. step forward. In other words, if you want what

  513. I want to give to you, if you want to be restored

  514. in your hand, if you want to be restored in your

  515. life, then you're going to have to step out from

  516. where you are. You're going to have to step out

  517. of the place where you've been. You're going

  518. to have to step out of your predictable routine

  519. that you've been used to. You're going to have

  520. to step out of the same seat and the same room.

  521. and the same people that you've been around.

  522. You're going to have to step out of the familiar

  523. ritual, step out of your predictable behavior.

  524. In other words, you're going to have to do something

  525. different that you're not accustomed to doing.

  526. You see, so many times we want God to bless us

  527. and move upon our lives, but we want him to do

  528. it on our terms. We want him to do it in a way

  529. that brings minimal disruption and minimal convenience

  530. to our lives. But God said, if you're going to

  531. be here, If your mind and your spirit and your

  532. body is going to be set free today, then you've

  533. got to be willing to step forward. You've got

  534. to be willing to put it all on the line. You've

  535. got to be willing to say, God, I'm willing for

  536. you to bless me today. So many times we miss

  537. what God's wanting to do, not because he's unwilling,

  538. but because we're unwilling to be obedient. When

  539. God says step out, you've got to step out. Oh,

  540. hallelujah. Can't tell you how many times I've

  541. seen people miss divine moments with God, miss

  542. holy moments, sacred moments of healing and deliverance

  543. simply because they don't want to do anything

  544. different than what they normally do. You say,

  545. well, why can't God just bless me where I am?

  546. Can I preach like I want? here today, somebody

  547. say, go ahead. Why can't God just bless me where

  548. I am? That's just not how God works. You got

  549. to talk to Naaman. And Naaman, if you want to

  550. ask Naaman, how do you get rid of your leprosy,

  551. Naaman? He said, well, you're going to have to

  552. step into the river, my friend. You're going

  553. to have to put down your prestige. You're going

  554. to have to lower your power. You're going to

  555. have to remove all your garments and step into

  556. the river and do something a little different

  557. when God says to do it. Bartimaeus, do you want

  558. to see again? You betcha. I want my sight back.

  559. Well, you're going to have to throw aside your

  560. garment if you want to get your sight back. Bartimaeus,

  561. lame man at the pool. Jesus said, do you want

  562. to be made? And he said, yes, I do. He said,

  563. arise, pick up your bed and walk. The Holy Ghost

  564. is calling somebody out today. I wish you would

  565. pray in the spirit. He's calling somebody out

  566. today. He's calling you out of your conformity.

  567. He's calling you out of your comfort. He's calling

  568. you out of your boundaries. God is saying, if

  569. you want a different outcome, then you've got

  570. to do something different. Don't be so predictable.

  571. Come on, hallelujah. Don't just sit back and

  572. wait for something to happen. Your God is in

  573. this place, and he's saying, step out! From among

  574. them. Come on, can we pray just for a moment?

  575. As the keyboard comes and gets ready. Come on,

  576. can we worship the Lord for a moment right now?

  577. I'm going to invite somebody right now. Come

  578. on. Why don't you begin to entertain his presence

  579. right now? Come on, hallelujah. Come on, God's

  580. talking to you. Why don't you begin to worship

  581. him right now? Why don't somebody in this house

  582. begin to heed? Come on. Why don't you begin to

  583. heed the word of the Lord and begin to respond

  584. in stepping out? your son. Hallelujah. Hallelujah.

  585. Come on. God is working right now. I know it's

  586. hard in here. I know it's not this and it's not

  587. that. But God is working right now. Come on.

  588. Come on. I need somebody to go there in the spirit

  589. right now. Oh, my God. My God. My God. Somebody

  590. right now. God's calling you to step out. I don't

  591. know what it is, brother or sister, but you've

  592. got to step out of that mindset that you've been

  593. in. Some of you have been in a spiritual funk.

  594. You need to step out of that funk today. You

  595. need to say, I'm not going to let another Sunday

  596. go by and not get my miracle. I'm not going to

  597. let another Sunday go by and me not get healed

  598. in my mind or in my body. my God, I've got to

  599. step out. I'm not willing for this moment to

  600. pass me by. You said, brother, why is it so important,

  601. brother Jacob? I'll tell you why. It's about

  602. obedience, brother. It's about obedience, sister.

  603. Imagine if the man had just sat there and said,

  604. well, I heard what the preacher said, but I'm

  605. not going to get up because why should I anyways?

  606. I'm comfortable right where I am. Oh, when Jesus

  607. says, Sammy, this man said, whoa, I've got to

  608. step out. I can't be I can't be joking around

  609. with God. I can't be playing games with God.

  610. I can't be, you know, you know, playing hard

  611. to get with God. And so he steps up. And then

  612. the second key is this. Not only must you step

  613. out today, brother or sister, who shot. How many

  614. of you feel the Holy Ghost right now? Come on.

  615. Come on. Hallelujah. Do I got a real witness?

  616. You feel the Holy Ghost today? Not only do you

  617. got to step out, you also got to stretch out.

  618. Someone say stretch out. Jesus said, all right,

  619. now that you've stepped out, now that you've

  620. stepped forward, you've put yourself in a position

  621. to receive. Now you've got to take that withered

  622. hand. Take that thing, brother or sister, that

  623. you've been hiding. Take that problem, that crippling

  624. problem. You got to stretch it out. I'm sorry.

  625. But you're going to have to become vulnerable.

  626. I killed it for somebody right there when I said

  627. that. Pastor, you had me until you said that.

  628. But you got to become vulnerable. Imagine what

  629. this man was feeling. Like, Jesus, can you just,

  630. like, heal me undercover? You want me to do what?

  631. You want me to put my business out there for

  632. everybody? You want to put my hand, my withered

  633. hand, my weakness, my struggle, my pain? My condition.

  634. Lord, I'm the one who prays for people I don't

  635. get prayed for. And that's the problem. Sometimes

  636. we need God to touch us. So he extends his hand

  637. and watch as he extends his hand. Jesus didn't

  638. have to pray again. Jesus said, okay, church,

  639. now I want everybody to hold hands and we're

  640. going to shout real loud. You know how we do

  641. it in Pentecostals, right? He didn't do none

  642. of that. As the hand went out, the dude was like,

  643. oh, OMG. My hand is as whole as the other. Would

  644. you stand on your feet today? Can I tell you

  645. this afternoon that if you'll just step out in

  646. faith today, God says, show me. that sick show

  647. me the part of your life that needs to be healed

  648. that needs to be restored that needs to be revived

  649. that needs to be whole again show me stretch

  650. it out
