  1. I'm going to invite you, if you can join me in

  2. the word of God today, Deuteronomy chapter 2

    Deuteronomy 2 chapter mention

  3. and verse 1. This is the word that God has laid

  4. on my heart and that I have been meditating on,

  5. praying over for a couple of weeks now. God's

  6. been dealing with me on this. Just going to read

  7. two verses. It says, Then we turned and journeyed

  8. into the wilderness. Turn northward. Somebody

  9. say, turn north. Turn north. I want to preach

  10. on that thought here for a few moments and share

  11. some things that I pray and I hope will be a

  12. blessing, will edify, will change your life.

  13. Would you pray with me right now, right there

  14. where you are, and pray not only for yourself,

  15. pray for your neighbor, amen. Pray that God would

  16. speak to them and pray for me that God would

  17. just flow, his anointing would flow through my

  18. life today. Father, we love you today. We thank

  19. you, God, for your... powerful, precious word,

  20. your presence, God, that just permeates this

  21. place of worship today. God, you have met us

  22. here for such a time as this. We understand,

  23. God, that your coming is near, that the day is

  24. at hand, the night is far spent, God, and so

  25. it is high time for us to incline our ear to

  26. what thus saith the Lord in this hour. God, I

  27. pray for... Everyone, God, gathered here today,

  28. those that will watch this recording, God, that

  29. all those that would hear this word, their lives

  30. would be transformed. God, put your word in my

  31. mouth, amen, Lord, and anoint my lips of clay.

  32. I ask this right now in the powerful and in the

  33. mighty name of Jesus. Someone say amen. Would

  34. you clap your hands and give God one more praise.

  35. You may be seated in God's presence. Some years

  36. ago, I bought a treadmill when I decided to get

  37. serious about my health. And I did it because,

  38. you know, it seemed like the right thing to do.

  39. After some time, however, I stopped using my

  40. treadmill because I didn't like the feeling of

  41. running nowhere. I didn't like that feeling of

  42. seeing the same things and not moving forward.

  43. And nothing against treadmills. If you've got

  44. one and it works for you, you know, more power

  45. to you. Keep running on that thing. And if it's

  46. good for your health, right? But for me, it didn't

  47. work because I... I like to see progress. You

  48. know, as I'm running, as I'm working out, as

  49. I'm doing these things, I like to see a change

  50. of scenery. It just does something to my psyche.

  51. It does something to my mind. It gives me a sense

  52. of fulfillment, if you will. But I realized something

  53. thinking about that moment in my life, in my

  54. health journey, that you can run hard. In fact,

  55. you can run very hard and still go nowhere. Someone

  56. say amen. True spiritually as well. You can get

  57. stuck in cycles and mistake erroneously motion

  58. for progress. You could mistake the fact that

  59. things are moving or that there is some shifting

  60. or some changes, but yet not actually be making

  61. progress. And this is exactly where the children

  62. of Israel found themselves in our text today.

  63. They were moving, but they were not advancing.

  64. They were not going anywhere. Circling in the

  65. desert for a long time, they got used to the

  66. same scenery. walking the same paths and repeating

  67. the same cycle. And they were in a precarious

  68. place because on the one hand, they were no longer

  69. slaves in Egypt, right? Because God had delivered

  70. them out of Egyptian oppression and bondage.

  71. So on the one hand, they were no longer brickmakers

  72. and under the slavery of Egyptian rule. But on

  73. the other hand, they were still not living in

  74. their promised land. And again, this is a dilemma.

  75. This is a difficult place to be in, to be fully

  76. out but not fully in. To be in that kind of a

  77. middle place. And I believe that as God was speaking

  78. to me that there are many believers who find

  79. themselves in that exact place spiritually speaking.

  80. They are delivered but not yet developed. They

  81. are saved. Perhaps their sins have been washed

  82. away through the water, just like the children

  83. of Israel came through the Red Sea, which typifies

  84. baptism. So they have been delivered from their

  85. sins, and that past has been wiped away, but

  86. they're still not yet settled into the land of

  87. milk and honey. They have not yet tasted of the

  88. goodness of the land that God has. promised to

  89. them, just like he did to Abraham and his seed.

  90. But this is where God had looked upon the plight

  91. of his people and intervened. And he interrupted

  92. their cycle that they were in with one very simple

  93. command. First, he locates them, number one.

  94. He diagnoses the issue. He says, you have...

  95. this mountain long enough. So first, before God

  96. tells you where he wants you to go, how many

  97. of you know he'll tell you where you are? Somebody

  98. say amen. That's why God, when he wanted to change

  99. Adam's life, he said, Adam, where are you? God

  100. will always locate you first. The Holy Ghost

  101. will always pinpoint, it'll pin drop exactly

  102. what your situation is, where you are in the

  103. kingdom or in the spirit or the season of your

  104. life. And so he tells them, you have skirted

  105. this mountain long enough. In other words, you

  106. have been circling the same mountain experienced

  107. the same mountain long enough. I've seen what

  108. you've been doing and I've kind of noticed that

  109. you have a pattern now. You've got this pattern

  110. and I don't even, I think you don't even, I know

  111. you don't even realize that you're in a pattern,

  112. that you're in a cycle because you're moving.

  113. But you have mistaken your motion for progress.

  114. You have mistaken your routine for obedience.

  115. You've mistaken your pattern. for spiritual growth

  116. and for development. So God says, you've skirted

  117. this mountain long enough, and then he says,

  118. turn northward. Someone say, turn north. Come

  119. on, say that again with me. Turn north. And then

  120. those two words, or in the text, the original

  121. text I read, turn northward. If you like that

  122. word northward better, you can use that too.

  123. But it means the same, turn north. And as I read

  124. that, I felt the Holy Ghost speak to me, and

  125. I hear the Holy Ghost here today saying the same

  126. thing to each and every one of us this afternoon,

  127. saying the same thing to me, saying the same

  128. thing to my family, to this church, and that

  129. is turn north. It is not the will of God that

  130. we... skirt the mountain, so to speak. It's not

  131. the will of God that we recycle our religious

  132. experiences, that we go through the motions,

  133. or that we do church because we know how to do

  134. church. You know, some of us, we just know how

  135. to do church. We can do church with the best

  136. of them because it is so ingrained in who we

  137. are. It comes as like second nature to us. But

  138. we've got to be careful today, church, and I

  139. hope you hear what I've got to say. say today,

  140. that we don't stay in the rut of just doing church

  141. or that we just don't repeat the same experiences,

  142. the same lessons that we've learned already,

  143. the same elementary principles of doctrine, which

  144. are good. But even the Apostle Paul said, leaving

  145. behind the principal elements of doctrine, let

  146. us go on to perfection. Not that we don't need

  147. our doctrine. Always will. But let us not keep

  148. circling around the same things and not advancing.

  149. Because at the end of the day, amen, we've got

  150. a promise in God that must be possessed. Somebody

  151. give God some praise today. Hallelujah. How many

  152. of you got a promise from the Lord? Amen. I said,

  153. how many of you got a promise from the Lord?

  154. Hallelujah. You must possess your promise. And

  155. that's why when you flip a few chapters later

  156. in Deuteronomy. and verse 23, Moses says to the

  157. people, the Lord brought us out so that he could

  158. bring us in. So God didn't just bring us out

  159. of Egypt so that we can be desert dwellers. God

  160. didn't bring us out of Egypt just so that we

  161. could celebrate our freedom for the rest of our

  162. life, but never possess the fruit of the land,

  163. no. God Brought us out of all of that. Brought

  164. us out of the world. Brought us out of sin. Brought

  165. us out of dead men's tradition. Why? So that

  166. he could bring us in. It is God's will that we

  167. step into the fullness of his spirit. Hallelujah.

  168. It is God's will that we step into the fullness

  169. of his power. The fullness of his power. How

  170. many of you want to step into the fullness of

  171. God? Amen. I want to step into the fullness of

  172. my revelation. I want to step into the fullness.

  173. of my conviction. I want to step into the fullness

  174. of my relationship and my intimacy with the Lord

  175. Jesus Christ. I don't want to ever get in a cycle

  176. where all I am doing is talking about what God

  177. did and where I've been and not advance further

  178. into his kingdom. So the question before us here

  179. today, church, is if we're going to turn north,

  180. Where is north? Where is north in the spirit?

  181. And how do we get there? And if we ask these

  182. questions, we need to look no further than the

  183. example before us here in Deuteronomy chapter

    Deuteronomy 2 chapter mention

  184. 2 with the people of Israel. And we first must

  185. begin. There are several stages that I'd like

  186. to dissect for us today as we look at the children

  187. of Israel, the people of God. And the first thing

  188. we must begin to deal with is this mountain that

  189. they were circling in the desert. They were circling

  190. a mountain. and the mountain was known as Mount

  191. Seir. Now, this particular mountain is noteworthy

  192. because it was home to the descendants of Esau.

  193. Scripture tells us, Bible says that this is where

  194. the people or the lineages, the descendants of

  195. Esau lived. Now, if you know a little bit about

  196. Esau in Bible history, Esau was not a spiritual

  197. man. Amen. He was not a spiritual man. In fact,

  198. he was a carnal man. A carnal man who sold his

  199. inheritance or his birthright for a bowl of soup.

  200. I don't know how good that soup smelled, but

  201. whatever it was, he became entrapped by that.

  202. He became bedazzled. He ensnared by the attraction,

  203. by the scent of that soup. His hunger and the

  204. flesh got the best of him. And so he sold an

  205. eternal birthright for a temporary fix that he

  206. got in his flesh. And so the Israelites were

  207. circling Esau's mountain. This was his mountain.

  208. This was where his people lived. And so if I

  209. could put it to you this way, in a spiritual

  210. sense, the people of God were not just circling

  211. any mountain. They were circling a carnal mountain.

  212. Amen. They were circling a fleshly mountain.

  213. They were circling Esau's mountain. I mean, I

  214. don't think the Bible makes any mistakes. There

  215. is a, there is a lesson here. There is a point

  216. to this. And this mountain of flesh, this carnal

  217. mountain, a mountain who gets its identity from

  218. a man who was living in the carnal mind. A man

  219. who was not a true man of the spirit. And they

  220. were circling. says something about the first

  221. thing that we must do if we are to move north

  222. and get beyond this mountain of flesh that causes

  223. nothing but cycles of regret and cycles of sin

  224. and comfort and empty religion in our lives.

  225. So the first thing we need to do if we're going

  226. to move spiritually north is that we need to

  227. know that north, someone say north. Amen. Come

  228. on, say north. North is beyond the flesh. North

  229. is beyond the flesh. And the scripture reads

  230. for us in verses 4 and 5, it says, and command

  231. the people. Command the people saying that you

  232. are about to pass through the territory of your

  233. brethren, the descendants of Esau, the carnal

  234. man, who live in Sir, and they will be afraid

  235. of you. Therefore, watch yourselves carefully.

  236. In other words, be vigilant about where you're

  237. about to go into the territory that you're about

  238. to enter. You've got to be sober -minded and

  239. vigilant about this mountain. And then verse

  240. 5, he adds, do not meddle with them. So God tells

  241. Israel, you are to pass through, if you're going

  242. to move north to the promised land, this mountain

  243. beyond the flesh. And he says, you got to pass

  244. through this mountain. You got to go through

  245. this carnal mountain of Esau, this place that

  246. represents flesh and carnality. But not only

  247. pass through them, but I like the added admonition,

  248. which is, do not meddle. Someone say, don't meddle.

  249. He said, don't meddle with these people. Mind

  250. your own business and just walk right through

  251. them. That word there, meddle, is important for

  252. us today. It is important to add to your mind,

  253. your understanding, your spiritual vocabulary.

  254. Why? Because to meddle is to contend or to provoke.

  255. God was telling his people, do not meddle. provoke

  256. the flesh. Do not meddle with it. Do not bargain

  257. with Esau. Don't get entangled with these people.

  258. They have nothing to offer you. Don't negotiate

  259. with them and certainly don't fight with them

  260. on their turf because you'll be fighting on their

  261. terms and it's a battle that you're not going

  262. to win. You're going to lose it every single

  263. time. And as I read these words, I cannot overlook

  264. the fact that in order for us as the people of

  265. God in this generation to move north in the Spirit

  266. into the blessed promises of God for our lives,

  267. we have got to apply this same principle to our

  268. lives and do everything we can to not get in

  269. the A meddling situation with our flesh. Because

  270. our flesh is something that is constantly trying

  271. to contend with us. The Bible says these words

  272. in Romans 8 -7. Can I preach my heart out today?

  273. Somebody say go ahead. Hallelujah. The Bible

  274. says in Romans 8 -7 that the carnal mind is enmity

  275. against God. Amen. Carnality, I want you to know,

  276. is not just the love. Can I tell you like it

  277. is today? Carnality is not simply doing dirty

  278. things or having a dirty mind, so to speak. But

  279. carnality is... moving and operating in any other

  280. spirit except for the spirit of God. It could

  281. be the spirit of humanity. It could be the spirit

  282. of the world. It could be the spirit of somebody

  283. else except for the spirit of God. It not only

  284. includes the lust of the flesh, but it includes

  285. the lust of the eye and the pride of life. And

  286. for somebody here today, your biggest problem

  287. may not be the lust of the flesh and controlling

  288. impulses. of your fleshly desires. But your biggest

  289. problem might be the pride of your life. It might

  290. be the lust of the eyes. It might be greed. It

  291. might be jealousy and covetousness. It might

  292. be envy. Hallelujah. Or it might be the pride

  293. of life. What the Bible calls a howty look or

  294. an arrogant look or a proud heart. And what you

  295. must understand about all of these facets Facets

  296. of a carnal mind. All of these facets of a carnal

  297. mind are not neutral elements in your life. They

  298. are at enmity with God. You see, I need to alert

  299. the believer here today. Oh, I feel him, the

  300. Holy Ghost. That contrary thinking to the spirit

  301. of God is not simply a neutral mindset. It's

  302. not simply, well, God stays on his side or the

  303. preacher is on his side and I'm on mine. side.

  304. No, it is enmity against God. Oh, enmity is not

  305. passive. Enmity is open hostility. It is not

  306. a cold war like we experienced as a nation way

  307. back in the 80s where nuclear bombs were pointed

  308. from country to country, from Russia to the U

  309. .S., and from the U .S. to Russia, and there

  310. was no nukes that were fired. Thank God for that.

  311. It was a cold war. But I am not talking, that's

  312. not what this is. This is not a cold war. This

  313. is open warfare. A carnal mind is actively working

  314. against the spirit and the will of God in your

  315. life. I need to preach this like I feel here

  316. today. Hallelujah. It is open warfare. Why? Because

  317. it opposes and it resists with everything it

  318. has, the spirit and the word. and the direction

  319. of God, and the direction that God puts through

  320. his overseers. And this is why the Bible teaches

  321. us that we ought to make no provision for the

  322. flesh. The Bible is constantly telling us not

  323. to meddle with the carnal mind. Don't give it

  324. any place in your life. Don't allow yourself

  325. to be governed, to be directed, to be influenced,

  326. to be under the spell of. Whatever the flesh

  327. and the carnal mind wants to do. Because it is

  328. enmity with God. It wants something entirely

  329. separate than what God wants. I'm not talking

  330. to anybody here today. It wants what it wants.

  331. But this is why we've got to get into the spirit.

  332. This is why, hallelujah, we cannot negotiate

  333. with the flesh. And certainly we cannot fight.

  334. the flesh, because if you try to fight flesh

  335. with flesh, you're going to lose that battle

  336. every single time. If you want to overcome your

  337. flesh, you don't have to fight your flesh. You

  338. simply have to wake up every morning and make

  339. a conscious decision that you're going to walk

  340. in the Spirit. Somebody give God some praise

  341. here this afternoon. Hallelujah! I'm preaching

  342. under the anointing of the Holy Ghost. Let me

  343. give you you some Bible today. Let me give you

  344. more Bible as I got to move through this. In

  345. Romans it says, for if you live according to

  346. the flesh, you will die. But if you live by the

  347. Spirit, you Put to death the deeds of the body,

  348. you will live. Galatians tells us, walk in the

  349. spirit and you shall not fulfill the lusts of

  350. the flesh. It tells us, and those who are Christ

  351. have crucified the flesh with all of his passions

  352. and all of his desires. Oh, in 1 Peter he tells

  353. us to abstain from fleshly lusts which war against

  354. the soul. But the one thing you will not see

  355. the Bible tell you to do is to war or do battle

  356. with your flesh. Nowhere in Scripture are you

  357. commanded to fight your flesh. You're not supposed

  358. to fight your flesh. You're supposed to mortify

  359. your flesh. You're supposed to crucify your flesh

  360. on an altar and surrender it. Somebody clap your

  361. hands and give God some praise here today. Supposed

  362. to walk above it. And I can preach this whole

  363. message and dedicate it to that. Because many

  364. times, oh, if we're not careful, we think we're

  365. walking in the spirit. We're thinking we're making

  366. spirit guided. If it doesn't line up with this

  367. word, if it contradicts this word and the precepts

  368. of it, then we've got to go back to our prayer

  369. closet. Then we've got to check our hearts and

  370. our spirit and say, God, is this an area where

  371. my flesh is trying to climb off the altar? Is

  372. this a situation, God, that I've meddled with

  373. my flesh? I've entertained it. I've discussed

  374. with it. I'm negotiating with it. Oh, the devil

  375. is a liar. I don't know about you, but I want

  376. to move forward. It's with the promises of God.

  377. And I've got to move past my flesh. Oh, too many

  378. times. Can I keep preaching this just for a few

  379. more moments? Too many times we blame the devil

  380. and we blame Satan and we blame the kingdom of

  381. darkness. And yes. That realm is real, but so

  382. often it is not the devil that is depriving us

  383. of our promises. It's our own carnal thinking

  384. that gets in the way. It's our own pride. It's

  385. our own attitude. It's our own fleshly desires,

  386. our own fleshly ambition. But if we will simply

  387. crucify it and say, not my will, but thine be

  388. done. then something is going to happen in the

  389. spirit. Come on, why don't we just worship the

  390. Lord for a few moments today. I feel the Holy

  391. Ghost in this place. The devil doesn't have the

  392. power to stop revival. The devil doesn't have

  393. the power to stop a miracle. In your life, it's

  394. only a question of whether you're going to pass

  395. through the flesh. Secondly, if we're going to

  396. move north, we need to move beyond the past.

  397. Someone say the past. Oh, hallelujah. The word

  398. of God says, and the time we took to come to

  399. Kadesh Barnea until we crossed over the valley

  400. of the Zered was 38 years. Until all the generation

  401. of the men of war was consumed from the midst

  402. of the camp. just as the Lord has sworn to them.

  403. Pastor, what is going on in this text? I'm glad

  404. you asked. How does this relate to the past?

  405. Well, here's what's happening. God was preparing

  406. his people to step into the land of Canaan, the

  407. promised land. And now that they are going through

  408. Esau, now that they are moving beyond the flesh,

  409. they are realizing there is another step that

  410. must be taken. be taken and and this one is just

  411. as critical as the last because now God is fulfilling

  412. his word that those who had not believed him

  413. the prior generation would have to die off and

  414. this meant waiting another 38 in order for that

  415. to happen. They had already been circling in

  416. the desert for now two years. They had already,

  417. and lots of things had already, events had happened

  418. during those two years. But God said, if you're

  419. going to step into the promises, you've got to

  420. get beyond the past. And the past for his people

  421. was the generation who had doubted God, who had

  422. doubted his word, a generation of murmur. and

  423. complainers and disobedient and resisted God

  424. and spiritual authority. And it was a painful

  425. thing that they had to experience. You could

  426. read about it for yourself, the heartbreak and

  427. the pain and the suffering experience even in

  428. that short two -year period. Because despite

  429. all the miracles that God had done for his people,

  430. there was still a generation that could not accept

  431. what God had done. God was doing and was struggling

  432. to let go of certain things. And so for that

  433. reason, God said, you will not be allowed. Access

  434. denied for you to enter into the promised land.

  435. And so this whole new generation was coming up.

  436. It was Joshua's generation. His generation coming

  437. up. And they had to wait. Think about it. years

  438. that's a long time to have to wait in order to

  439. bury the last can you imagine with every burial

  440. how bittersweet it must have been because on

  441. the one hand they were mourning the loss of an

  442. uncle an aunt a loved one a cousin a mother or

  443. a father and they had to bury them and that must

  444. have been sad but on the other hand him also

  445. must have been a field with some glimmer of hope

  446. because that with every burial of a loved one

  447. from the old unbelieving generation that meant

  448. they were one step closer from marching into

  449. their promised land. This is the dichotomy that

  450. many believers fail to understand and often miss

  451. in their life. They think that in order for there

  452. to be a clean break into where God is calling

  453. me everything must make complete sense in what's

  454. going on in my life right now. is going to make

  455. the journey with them. Well, the Bible gives

  456. us another pattern and another model and another

  457. template. And in the Spirit, we find that oftentimes

  458. we've got to bury some things and even some relationship

  459. and even some stuff that we've been holding on

  460. to that is resisting the will of God in our life.

  461. Oh, I may not get many amens right now. But just

  462. hang out with me here for just a few more moments.

  463. And it baffles us why. But with every burial.

  464. They cried on one day. And then they rejoiced

  465. on the next day. Not because they were celebrating

  466. the death of a loved one. The passing away of

  467. something old. No. But the fact that it meant

  468. they were one step closer. One inch closer to

  469. getting a hold. of the promise of God and it

  470. will be a time of mourning and rejoicing. You'll

  471. be sad one day because maybe God didn't give

  472. you what you wanted but the next day your heart

  473. will be filled with joy because you realize that

  474. all things work together for the good to them

  475. that love God and to them that are called according

  476. to his purpose. You realize that serving God

  477. is sometimes bittersweet. It's not always going

  478. to be the way you want it but If you'll submit

  479. to the process and you'll say, God, if it's got

  480. to be buried, then it's got to be buried so that

  481. I can get to it. you are calling me to go. And

  482. so I feel something in the Holy Ghost. Just give

  483. me a few more moments. I'll be done here. But

  484. this is a point in the Holy Ghost that when God

  485. calls you north, brother or sister, some things

  486. and some people, you've got to leave south. And

  487. you say, Pastor, this is cutting too close to

  488. the line. You tell that to Jesus, who while he

  489. was entering his promise of ministry, even his

  490. own brothers and sisters tried to come and rescue

  491. him from hell. himself because they thought that

  492. Jesus had lost his mind. Oh, but they were carnally

  493. thinking and not spiritually thinking. And so

  494. Jesus had to put even his own family in check

  495. and tell them that my brothers and my sisters

  496. are them that do the will of the father. You

  497. say, pastor, what are you telling me? It's the

  498. Holy Ghost that's telling us today that if, Elijah,

  499. you want to get your promise, you want that double

  500. portion, then you're going to have to kiss mom

  501. and dad goodbye and burn that 12 yoke of oxen

  502. and burn the plow. I'm telling you, if you want

  503. to go back to Bethlehem, Naomi, then you're going

  504. to have to kiss Orpah goodbye. And if she goes,

  505. oh, but thank God there's a Ruth that God will

  506. leave in your life. Oh, come on. I told you that

  507. it's not all bad news. I told you that it's not

  508. all sour. Some of it is sweet. Somebody say it's

  509. sweet too. Hallelujah. Because even though I

  510. had to say goodbye to somebody I really love,

  511. named Orpah, but God left me with Naomi. So I've

  512. lost some things and I've gained some things.

  513. because I can't stay here in this purgatory anymore.

  514. I can't stay stuck in limbo anymore. Peter, if

  515. you want to follow Jesus and be a preacher of

  516. the gospel, you've got to leave your nets behind.

  517. Something's got to be left south so that I can

  518. turn north. Someone say, turn north. Come on,

  519. say it again. Say, turn north. Throughout Scripture,

  520. we see this principle laid out for us. And this

  521. message is so powerful, I think I'm going to

  522. have to go back and listen to it myself again.

  523. Hallelujah. Speak to me, Lord. I just felt something

  524. in the spirit that we're at a pivotal moment,

  525. church. We're at a pivotal time. Some of you

  526. individually and us as a church, we're folks

  527. and you got to make up in your mind, am I moving

  528. forward or am I going backwards or am I just

  529. going to keep circling the same mountain? I got

  530. to get beyond my flesh and I got to get beyond

  531. the past. Paul said forgetting those things,

  532. oh, hallelujah, that are behind and reaching

  533. forward to those things which are ahead. Pastor,

  534. are you saying that we are not to honor or that

  535. we are not to respect? No, I'm not saying that

  536. the past is always bad. Hallelujah. What the

  537. Bible is teaching us is that we cannot be prisoners

  538. of it. I can remember what God did without becoming

  539. a prisoner of it. I can remember how God brought

  540. me out without enshrining it in my life to think

  541. that that's the only way God could. The keyboard

  542. gets ready to come. It goes a step further than

  543. that. Because hallelujah. You've got to assess

  544. what areas of my flesh, my carnal mind. My carnal

  545. mind. The person you look at in the mirror when

  546. you're fixing your hair and brushing your teeth.

  547. That person. What areas in you are threatening

  548. to rob you of your ultimate purpose. The reason

  549. God puts you on this earth. What is it? And what

  550. areas of your past. and people and things that

  551. you are holding on to, at some point you're going

  552. to have to make up in your mind, at some point

  553. it's going to be I either please God or I please

  554. man, but I can't do both. Can't do both. You

  555. know, you make up in your mind that you're going

  556. to make somebody unhappy. I'm either going to

  557. make God unhappy or I'm going to make my BFF

  558. unhappy. I'm going to make my coworker unhappy.

  559. I want to make my neighbor unhappy. But you understand

  560. that God's calling me somewhere. And it's not

  561. that I don't love. And it's not that I don't

  562. care. But you've got to be like those men that

  563. were rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem in Nehemiah's

  564. time that were hearing voices and distractions

  565. and trying to talk them off the wall. He said,

  566. no, I've got to stay off this wall. I've got

  567. to keep fighting. many of you want to move north

  568. today? Amen. Amen. I'm going to ask you again.

  569. I said, how many of you want to move north today?

  570. Can I just go one step further? Can I go one

  571. step further? You also got to move. Someone say

  572. the battle. You see, after they got through the

  573. flesh, after they got through the past, the word

  574. of the Lord says, arise. He says, rise. Take

  575. your journey and cross the river of Arnon. Look,

  576. I have given into your hands Sihon, the Amorite,

  577. the king of Heshbon and his land. Watch this.

  578. Begin to possess it and engage him in battle.

  579. Let me tell you one of the secrets to success

  580. in the spirit is learning how to pick your battles.

  581. Ooh, my Lord. That was worth the cost of coming

  582. to church today. Hallelujah. Is picking your

  583. battles. Knowing when it's the right fight and

  584. when it's the good fight of faith. Amen. Help

  585. me out. And so after telling his people, don't

  586. fight them. No, no, leave them alone. Don't fight

  587. the children, the descendants of Esau, because

  588. they're just a bunch of carnal folks, man. They're

  589. trying to drag you into the dirt is what they're

  590. trying to do. Just leave that. Don't fight. Don't

  591. fight the past. Don't fight that. No, no, no.

  592. You just got to give it time. Give it time. And

  593. when it's time to bury it, you got to move on.

  594. Don't fight this. Don't fight that. But now it's

  595. time to fight. Now you're thinking, well, great.

  596. Let's go to the war chest. Let's get out our

  597. spear. or swords. Let's get the battle act. Let's

  598. get the shield. Let's get all. Let's get the

  599. chariots and the horses. The only problem was

  600. is that these people were not a people of war.

  601. The prior generation was trained that way. They

  602. were trained that way. But this generation has

  603. spent years circling the desert. They knew how

  604. to collect manna from heaven. They didn't know

  605. anything about swinging a sword. do certain things,

  606. but they didn't know how to fight in the battle.

  607. But God says, now it's time to fight. Someone

  608. say, it's time to fight. And they had never fought

  609. before. They had never fought before. Some of

  610. you are entering right now in the season of having

  611. a fight, a battle you never had to fight before.

  612. You say, but is this the one? Well, What's God

  613. saying to you right now? If it's that battle,

  614. let me tell you today, you cannot possess what

  615. you're not willing to fight for. God said, I

  616. brought you all the way here. I brought you to

  617. this point. But now you're going to have to fight.

  618. Now fathers and mothers, husbands and wives and

  619. young people, everybody's going to have to learn.

  620. how to swing a sword. Now you're going to have

  621. to engage because if you're going to move north,

  622. guess what's going to happen? You're going to

  623. face confrontation. You know why? Because the

  624. enemy is not just going to surrender territory

  625. just because you're walking in his direction.

  626. No, he's not going down without a fight. But

  627. I got news for the devil here today. If a fight

  628. is what he wants, a fight is what he's going

  629. to get. Oh, I wish I had some fighters here this

  630. afternoon. If the devil wants to fight, that's

  631. what I'm going to do. I'm going to fight with

  632. everything I have in my spirit. Would you stand

  633. with me at this hour? Come on. Hallelujah. God,

  634. I'm ready, Lord. I want to fight for it. I want

  635. to fight for this thing, Lord. Someone needs

  636. to say, I'm not turning south. Would you close

  637. your eyes there? I feel the spirit of God in

  638. this place. Fight. But what am I fighting for?

  639. Who am I fighting? Well, you're not fighting

  640. flesh and blood. That's for one. Your fight is

  641. not with your brother or your sister. Your fight

  642. is not with your flesh and blood. Your fight

  643. is not with man. Your fight is not with woman.

  644. Your fight is not with the minister or with the

  645. pastor or with the evangelist. Your fight is

  646. with the enemy. The weapons of our warfare are

  647. not carnal, but are mighty in God to the pulling

  648. down of strongholds, casting down arguments.

  649. Every vain imagination. Everything that exalts

  650. itself against the knowledge of God. We wrestle

  651. not against flesh and blood. Oh, but against

  652. principalities. Oh, rulers of darkness of this

  653. age. Oh, with the God of this age. The God, the

  654. prince of the air. My fight is in the spirit.

  655. My fight is in the spirit. Oh, I've got to fight

  656. this thing on my knees. I've got to fight this

  657. thing in prayer. I've got to fight this thing

  658. in worship. I've got to fight this thing in praise.

  659. Oh, I hear, I hear a warrior rising up in this

  660. place today. I hear, I wonder, is there a man

  661. today that, how many men are in this place that

  662. agree with me right now? Is there any men, are

  663. there any fathers here today? Come on, are there

  664. any fathers, are there any men, young men? that

  665. are willing to stand up in this hour and fight

  666. the good fight of faith. I'm gonna fight for

  667. my family. I'm gonna fight for my children. I'm

  668. gonna fight for my marriage. I rebuke the spirit

  669. of divorce. I rebuke the spirit of this and that.

  670. I rebuke rebellion in my children. I'm gonna

  671. fight. I'm gonna fight with everything. I'm going

  672. to fight for my child who's been going astray.

  673. Come on, keep your eyes closed. The spirit of

  674. the Lord is moving in this time. I'm going to

  675. start operating right now. Oh, hallelujah, brother.

  676. What's going to come out of you is a prophetic

  677. worship. Just begin to play something. There's

  678. something. Can I tell somebody that you're on

  679. the verge? Can I tell you that you're at the

  680. threshold? You say, why is the devil, why is

  681. the fight so strong right now? Why do I feel

  682. it? It's like hovering over me. It's everywhere

  683. I go. Why is the fight so fierce? I'll tell you

  684. why the devil is fighting you tooth and nail.

  685. I'll tell you why the devil is throwing everything

  686. he's got. God at you, trying to throw your mind

  687. off, throw your spirit off, throw your heart

  688. off, while he's trying to confuse you, while

  689. he's trying to influence you, while he's trying

  690. to meddle with you. I'll tell you why the devil

  691. is fighting you with everything he's got. He's

  692. playing dirty. He's slinging mud. He's punching

  693. below the belt. He's doing everything he can

  694. to mess with you and to take your eye off the

  695. prize. and to keep you circling and skirting

  696. the mountain for another year and another month,

  697. another day when God has called you to greater

  698. things. I'll tell you why all hell might be breaking

  699. loose in your spirit, in your mind, in your flesh,

  700. why you find temptation is at an all -time high,

  701. why you find yourself battling in every thought

  702. and every destructive emotion and every idea,

  703. every vain philosophy and every bubbling of a...

  704. fleshly idea I'll tell you why it's because you

  705. are closer now than you have ever been before

  706. to stepping into the promises of God I'm going

  707. to tell you like this that the fight is great

  708. because your fruit is great oh Hallelujah. Oh,

  709. the greatest fight of your life is because you're

  710. at the threshold of the greatest fruit of your

  711. life. But if you will win this battle in the

  712. spirit, sister, come on now, put on the mind

  713. of Christ. Let this mind be in you, which was

  714. also in Christ Jesus. Let this mind be in you.

  715. that was also in Christ Jesus, who came in the

  716. form of man, did not consider it robbery to be

  717. equal with God, but humbled himself. Oh, hallelujah.

  718. If we'll do that today, I believe somebody's

  719. going to get the victory. Right all over this

  720. building, I want you, if you can, I want you

  721. to lift these hands to heaven. God gave you those

  722. hands right now. I want you to lift them to heaven.

  723. And I'm going to pray. I'm going to prophesy

  724. right now. I've already been prophesying, but

  725. I'm going to speak. And I'm going to speak with

  726. a declaration right now over somebody. And then,

  727. hallelujah, as the Holy Ghost begins to move

  728. upon you, I want you to come to this altar, and

  729. I want you to lay your flesh. I want you to just

  730. crucify that flesh. Come on. Right now, come

  731. on, with your hands and lift this. Come on, come

  732. on, come on, come on, come on, come on. Lift

  733. up those hands unto God. God is with you. the

  734. authority of the Word of God and the power that's

  735. in the name of Jesus. I speak over every person

  736. under the sound of my voice this afternoon. God,

  737. you know your people. You know every hair on

  738. their head, God. You know their rising and their

  739. setting, God. You know every aspect of their

  740. life, God. You know what this fight is all about.

  741. You know how close they are, God, to their breakthrough.

  742. How close they are to the promise but right now

  743. in the powerful in the mighty name of Jesus I

  744. speak victory over them because the battle has

  745. already been won 2 ,000 years ago at Calvary's

  746. hill you went to the cross Jesus and you crucified

  747. the sin in the flesh so that we today could stand

  748. in victory over our flesh, over our past, and

  749. over the devil. So right now, in the name of

  750. Jesus. This message is for the spiritually mature.

  751. This is for the mature. If you can handle a message

  752. like this, this is for the mature. And if you

  753. want to grow and use it, then right now is your

  754. time to respond to the Holy Ghost. I need to

  755. turn north. Oh, in peace. I need to turn north

  756. in unity. I need to turn north right now. Come

  757. on. Oh, come on. Come on. Is there anybody else?

  758. I need to turn north right now. I need to move

  759. north. I've got to move north. Come on. You need

  760. to crucify that flesh, brother. You need to.

  761. our flesh sister don't let your flesh rob you

  762. of your blessing don't let it cheat you out of

  763. your promises don't let the past rob you don't

  764. let it stop you don't let
