The book of Psalms chapter 68. And verse number
Psalms 68 chapter mention
-
five. The word of the Lord says, a father to
-
the fatherless. A defender of widows is God in
-
his holy habitation. God sets the solitary in
-
families. He brings out those who are bound into
-
prosperity. But the rebellious dwell in a dry
-
land. Somebody say amen. I'm going to preach
-
today a father to the fatherless. A father to
-
the fatherless. Why don't we pray together? Father,
-
we love you today. We thank you for your presence.
-
We thank you, God, for your glory that fills
-
this place. Without a doubt, you are here. We
-
need, God, a word because it's the word of God
-
that will change and transform our lives. There
-
is power in your word today. So anoint my lips
-
and the hearing and the understanding of all.
-
I pray for revelation. I pray for knowledge and
-
wisdom in this place today. But most of all,
-
God, I pray for transformation. Father, we ask
-
this right now in the name of Jesus. God, we
-
pray this right now. Amen. Everyone say amen.
-
Amen. You can be seated. This past week, the
-
world witnessed something truly historic. It
-
was the peace agreement between Israel and Hamas.
-
Mediated by President Trump and the U .S. diplomats.
-
Amen. And for the first time in two years, 20
-
remaining Israeli hostages were released. Thank
-
the Lord for that. And many families that had
-
lived with sorrow were now holding their loved
-
ones again. There was one man who had been missing
-
since October 7th. For many months his family
-
didn't know if he was alive. But then last Monday
-
after 738 days in captivity he finally came home.
-
And at his reunion His father ran to him, embraced
-
him, and he wept loudly with his family. So you
-
might want to get your tissues ready. Play the
-
video. Do you see their joy? And also their pain?
-
I watched these videos and tears came to my eyes
-
because I couldn't think how these families were
-
feeling and what they were going through. I saw
-
another video that showed a son falling into
-
his father's arms watch this one with me Shema
-
Yisrael! Doesn't that touch your heart? Doesn't
-
it touch your heart? Did you hear the father
-
crying out? He was crying out an ancient Hebrew
-
prayer. The Shema, he lifted his hands. And he
-
prayed. He said, hear O Israel. The Lord our
-
God is one. Hallelujah. Somebody give God some
-
praise. He said, hear O Israel. Our God is one
-
God. And then he hugged his son. And he thanked
-
God. for bringing his family home. I have come
-
to preach to you today. This is what God wants
-
to do with every one of his children. Hallelujah.
-
He wants to bring them home. I saw this and it
-
reminded me of the heart of God to restore his
-
children. And that's what this text declares
-
in Psalms. That God is a father to the fatherless.
-
Somebody say amen. Say amen. I want to share
-
with you a few truths today. Starting with who
-
is the father. I want to declare to you That
-
Jesus is the Father. I said Jesus is the Father.
-
Hallelujah. Malachi 2 .10 asks. Have we not all
-
one Father? Has not one God created us? Scripture
-
reveals. that there is only one Father only one
-
God we were singing this song a little while
-
ago that there's not three and there's not two
-
but there's only one somebody say amen And the
-
Jews believed there was only one God. Hallelujah.
-
Just one Lord. Amen. So we agree with them. But
-
then Jesus came and declared something that changed
-
everything. In John 10 30. He said I. and in
-
John 14 9 he said he who has seen me has seen
-
the Father Jesus came to declare that the God
-
of the Old Testament was now manifest in the
-
flesh. So if you see Jesus you are looking at
-
the Father of creation. There is only one Father.
-
I thank God for this revelation. This is the
-
revelation. The high The greatest revelation.
-
The greatest revelation. And I've got to celebrate
-
that today. That I am a part of a one God church.
-
That the mighty God is in Christ Jesus. Clap
-
your hands and give God some praise today. Oh
-
hallelujah. He is not the second person of the
-
Trinity. He is the first. and the Bible says
-
I get excited hallelujah for in him dwells all
-
the fullness of the Godhead bodily Jesus is not
-
partially God he's not a little bit of God he's
-
all of God and I thank God today that we can
-
establish this truth and many of us know this
-
already but we have to preach this amen somebody
-
there's only one gospel I said there's only one
-
gospel amen And that gospel is that there is
-
one God. And his name is Jesus. Isaiah called
-
him the everlasting father. And also the prince
-
of peace. Only God. Only Jesus. Can be both the
-
father. And the son. The Holy Ghost. All in one.
-
He's the everlasting Father. And that everlasting
-
Father is here today. When you come to Jesus.
-
Whether it's at the beginning or as you serve
-
him in your life you are coming home to the Father.
-
God is not far away somewhere in heaven. He's
-
not beyond the stars but he's here right now.
-
My God. How many of you feel him in this place?
-
I said he's here right now. In fact, why don't
-
we worship him because he's here right now? Why
-
don't we lift our voices because he's here right
-
now? Oh, come on, I said he's here right now.
-
He's still in this place. I'm talking about the
-
king of glory. The everlasting father. Is he
-
your king? Is he your Lord? Is he your Savior?
-
Then give him glory today. Come on, let's take
-
a few moments to give him glory. He ran to his
-
son. And he embraced him. And he welcomed him
-
home. That's the heart of God. Hallelujah. That's
-
where God wants to find you. All he is waiting
-
for is for someone to repent. Because God will
-
receive you. But you have to be willing to repent
-
of your sins. And let go of the world. Let go
-
of your ways. And let God embrace you. And let
-
him restore you. You can come home. Can I tell
-
you something? Anybody can come home. Somebody
-
say anybody. Anybody can come home. Those doors
-
are open to anybody. Amen somebody. But here's
-
the thing. willing to repent and say God forgive
-
me I'm sorry God I messed up Lord I haven't been
-
living right I'm not thinking right The second
-
truth is that God places the solitary in families.
-
The word solitary means more than lonely. It
-
means alone ones. To be cut off. Isolated and
-
distant. To be broken. Solitary. Is not just
-
describing. An emotion or a feeling. Because
-
sometimes we just feel lonely. We feel like we're
-
by ourselves. That's not what solitary means.
-
That's a part of it. Hallelujah. But solitary
-
goes deeper than that. It speaks to. The condition
-
or the state of your soul. And this is what sin
-
can do to us. Amen. It separates us from God.
-
Amen. It separates us from the Holy One. And
-
it makes us spiritual. And this is how God sees
-
people. People who have not come to him all the
-
way. As alone. Afraid. And they're by themselves.
-
And they have. no way to help themselves. They're
-
lost. They're just walking or wandering around.
-
And this is why Jesus when he saw the city of
-
Jerusalem the Bible says that he wept over the
-
city because he saw them as sheep without a shepherd.
-
they were alone by themselves but the heart of
-
God is to rescue or to restore those people and
-
to bring them back to his family let me tell
-
you something today when you are born again and
-
of the Spirit when you're baptized in Jesus'
-
name and filled with the Holy Ghost you are not
-
only forgiven of your sins but you are adopted
-
into the family of God you are no longer a stranger
-
For you did not receive the spirit of bondage
-
again to fear. But you received the spirit of
-
adoption by whom we cry out. Abba Father. Hallelujah.
-
Let me tell you today that the church is not
-
a building. The church is a family. And we have
-
one Father. And our one Father deserves all the
-
glory. But I am now a part of the family of God.
-
Now I've got a place to belong. A place to heal.
-
To grow. To love one another. I am a part of
-
the household of God. Thank you Jesus. This is
-
what God wants. God wants to restore every one
-
of us into his family. The prodigal son, when
-
he came home, made him a big feast, a big dinner.
-
Amen. But he didn't come home just to have a
-
party. When he came home he found restoration.
-
When he was out there doing whatever he wanted
-
he remembered his father's house. Oh my God.
-
And it's the father's love. That will restore
-
people. Into his family. God wants people to
-
fall in love with him. He wants you to surrender
-
to him. So that he can restore you totally and
-
completely. When the son came home. He didn't
-
make him a slave. No, he said you're a son. You
-
are a part of this family. And now that I see
-
that you have changed your ways, your attitude,
-
your spirit, now that I see you want to be a
-
part of this, I'm going to restore you. I'm going
-
to put a robe on you. I'm going to place you
-
back where you were. Hallelujah. Because you're
-
my son. I want to tell somebody today. You're
-
not just anybody. You're not just anybody. Hear
-
me today. You're not just a woman. You're not
-
just a man. You are a child of the living God.
-
I wish somebody would hear me today. I said you're
-
a child of the living God. I'm not just anybody.
-
God is my father. And I belong in the household
-
of God. Why don't you give God some glory today?
-
Hallelujah. Hallelujah. You are a daughter of
-
God. You are a son of God. Thank you, Jesus.
-
I don't want to just be a slave I want to be
-
a son I want to be a son Jesus came to place
-
the solitary In families. If you're not baptized
-
in Jesus' name. You need to give your life to
-
Jesus. Amen. Do I got a witness out there? You
-
need to go down in the waters. And give your
-
life to the Lord. So that you can be a part of
-
his. eternal family how many of you are glad
-
today that your names have been written in the
-
book of life come on I said how many of you are
-
thankful today that your names have been written
-
in the book of life we who did not have a name
-
brother I didn't have a name You didn't have
-
a name. We were a people without a name. Can
-
I tell you? With no identity. Come on now. With
-
no purpose. With no future. No, no, no, no destiny.
-
That's right. We had nothing to offer him. but
-
when you come into the family of God he gives
-
you a purpose for living now you have an identity
-
you can look in the mirror and say I know who
-
I am I'm a child of God hey you don't have to
-
like me that's alright because God loves you
-
The world can reject me. That's alright. Because
-
God accepts me. Oh, I have my identity in Christ.
-
He tells you who you are. Gives you a name. You
-
know what that name is? How many of you know
-
that name today? How many of you know that name?
-
Can you shout it? Come on, can you shout it?
-
Oh, come on, church. I thought it was in an apostolic
-
Holy Ghost field church. Can you shout it? I'm
-
glad I know that name today because there is
-
no other name under heaven given among men whereby
-
we must be saved. I know the name of the father
-
his name is Jesus and his name is now on my life
-
and when you're in his family his name is on
-
your life number three is that God sets The captives
-
free. The verse says. He brings out those who
-
are bound into prosperity. The father not only
-
loves. He liberates. When he adopts you as his
-
own. He breaks every chain in your life. In Christ
-
you're no longer a slave to sin. A slave to fear.
-
But you're now free. Now you have been set free.
-
And those chains no longer hold you down. The
-
prodigal, when he left his home, he thought he
-
was going to find freedom out there. But all
-
he found was bondage. He thought he was going
-
to find freedom by leaving home. That's how sometimes
-
we feel. Sometimes there's children that want
-
to leave their parents' house because they don't
-
like the rules. Hello somebody. Not understanding
-
that those rules are meant to protect you. Not
-
to enslave you but to liberate you. People get
-
convinced that true freedom is found outside.
-
But all he found was pain and loss. That's all
-
he found. Didn't find anything. But when he came
-
home he found true freedom. In the world he was
-
bound. But in the father's house he was free.
-
True freedom is not found in rebellion. It's
-
found in relationship. And if you will submit
-
to the relationship to the authority of the Father
-
if you submit to the relationship if you get
-
under the roof the covering of God's You're going
-
to find greater freedom for your life. More freedom
-
than you can possibly imagine. Hallelujah. Somebody
-
give God some praise today. When God sets you
-
free, you are free indeed. I said, you are free
-
indeed. The keyboardist can get ready. Hallelujah.
-
God, when he sets you free, he doesn't leave
-
you free here but bound over here. God wants
-
you to be totally free. But you got to come totally
-
in. Hallelujah, I feel the presence of God here.
-
I feel the presence of God. Oh, hallelujah. He
-
not only opens the prison doors, but the psalmist
-
said, he brings those out who are bound. But
-
he brings them into prosperity. This is what
-
God wants to do. Set you free but not free to
-
go back. Go back to doing it all over again.
-
That's what a lot of people do. God delivers
-
them sets them free heals them restores them
-
and after they get their blessing their miracle
-
their healing their financial blessing then they
-
go back to doing things the way they want and
-
they forget the source of their blessing I end
-
up losing it all over again. God didn't deliver
-
us so that we can go back to what he delivered
-
us from. He wants to lead us into greater prosperity.
-
Hallelujah God. He wants to lead us to green
-
pastures. Besides still waters. He wants to give
-
you beauty for ashes. Joy for mourning. Hallelujah.
-
Praise for heaviness. Yes. God wants to not just
-
restore. He doesn't just want to set you free.
-
But he wants to lead you into true prosperity.
-
Some people think prosperity just means finances.
-
If that's all you're thinking of, that's the
-
least of it. I'm talking about spiritual prosperity.
-
God prospering your family. Prospering your marriage.
-
Prospering everything that you touch. prospering
-
your gift and your service to God and your gift
-
prospering your relationships everything God
-
wants to prosper I feel I feel the Holy Ghost
-
moving in this place. Hallelujah, God. When the
-
Father calls you his child, there's no chain
-
that can hold you. There's no devil that can
-
stop you. Remember the man with the legion? All
-
those devils in him. He ran, fell at the feet
-
of Jesus and worshipped him. Because when the
-
child recognizes his father, not even all the
-
legions of hell can stop you from getting to
-
an altar. From lifting up your hands. From worshiping.
-
Not even the devil himself. Can stop. And hold
-
you back. From the father's arms. Would you close
-
your eyes. I feel the holy ghost. Would you just
-
begin to pray with me right now. Right there
-
where you're at. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah
-
God. God is working right now. Hallelujah. Oh,
-
yes, he is. I'm going to invite the musicians
-
just to play right there. Hallelujah. God's calling
-
someone right now. God's calling somebody today.
-
He's calling one of his children right now. Hallelujah.
-
One of his children that he loves. Don't say,
-
Pastor, I'm already saved. I'm home already.
-
Are you? Because until you're back where God
-
wants you to be, my friend, there are some things
-
you've got to take care of. Matters of your heart.
-
Matters of obedience. Of submission. Of order.
-
Of repentance. Of worship. Of surrender. Oh,
-
there's some things you got to let go of. There's
-
some things you got to give to God. There's some
-
steps you've got to take. But I tell you this.
-
God is not here to condemn you. He's here to
-
receive you. Oh, He's here.
