  1. Joshua chapter 1 and verse 1, we're continuing

    Joshua 1 chapter mention

  2. our Back to the Future series. It reads this

  3. way. We'll read here, and then we got a verse

  4. to read in the New Testament. But here in Joshua

    Joshua 1 chapter mention

  5. chapter 1 and verse 1, it reads, After the death

  6. of Moses, the servant of the Lord, it came to

  7. pass that the Lord spoke to Joshua, the son of

  8. Nun, Moses' assistant, saying, Moses, my servant,

  9. is dead. Now therefore arise, go over this Jordan.

  10. Someone say Jordan. You and all this people to

  11. the land which I am giving to them, the children

  12. of Israel. And every place that the sole of your

  13. foot will tread upon, I have given you as I said

  14. to Moses. Now I'm going to skip to the New Testament,

  15. Galatians. Chapter 3 and verse 29. Galatians

    Galatians 3 chapter mention

  16. 3 and verse 29. And this one verse reads, and

  17. if you are Christ, then you are Abraham's seed

  18. and heir. Everyone say heir. According to the

  19. promise. Amen. I've got a pretty cool title for

  20. my message today. I've been waiting to share

  21. it all week. Today I'm going to preach on this

  22. thought, Air Jordan. I got a little wardrobe

  23. change here. Hold on. All right. Maybe I should

  24. have announced it to everybody. I thought if

  25. I'm going to preach about. Crossing my Jordan,

  26. I might as well wear them. Give God a hand of

  27. praise. Is that all right? I might as well wear

  28. them. You may be seated in the house of God.

  29. Next time I promise to let you know when we're

  30. going to have another Air Jordan service so you

  31. all can join me. But I thought it would be fitting

  32. to give you. an idea of what God is wanting to

  33. do in in our lives and I feel really comfortable

  34. right now I might preach a whole hour who knows

  35. the scene before us is a vibrant one in scripture

  36. and it's very familiar because what we see is

  37. a very important transition in Israel's history

  38. as they are now going from tent dwellers to land

  39. owners from Vagabonds to heirs of divine promise.

  40. This is a critical point in the journey of God's

  41. people. Forty years spent in the desert, circling

  42. and going through the motions. And during that

  43. period of time, of course, they experienced many

  44. things we read about. In Deuteronomy and Exodus,

  45. we read about these things. But during that period

  46. of time, a whole generation disqualified themselves

  47. from being able to enter in. And so once that

  48. generation passed, a new generation arose. It

  49. was Joshua's generation. And we see a very...

  50. prominent transition in leadership, prominent

  51. transition in the mindset of God's people as

  52. they are preparing to step into new territory.

  53. A generation that had known nothing but desert

  54. wandering and makeshift living is about to step

  55. into something that is permanent, something that

  56. is lasting, something that is sustainable. And

  57. adding to this moment was the fact that Moses,

  58. the towering leader of Israel's past, is now

  59. gone. That familiar voice that they were so accustomed

  60. to hearing on a day -to -day basis. legendary

  61. figure in Israel's history, the one who called

  62. plagues down from heaven, the one who parted

  63. the Red Sea. We know that it was God that worked

  64. through him. Nevertheless, he was the central

  65. figure that led God's people, and so he was very

  66. prominent, very important to the nation of Israel

  67. in that time. In fact, his shoes were so big,

  68. I don't think anybody could have stepped into

  69. them. And to that end, they were struggling to

  70. accept what was taking place before them. They

  71. were struggling. They were in a state of bewilderment.

  72. They were stunned and frozen in transition, unable

  73. to take that next step. struggling to accept

  74. the idea of moving forward without their trusted

  75. leader. And perhaps they just could not imagine

  76. what a future would look like without Moses.

  77. Maybe they couldn't fathom what life would be

  78. like without him. 40 years plus with this man

  79. of God at the helm, they couldn't figure out

  80. how tomorrow would look like without this leader.

  81. guiding the way. And they were left with many

  82. doubts and many questions about this new generation

  83. that was rising up, particularly Joshua. Even

  84. though he had learned and grown up under the

  85. mentorship of Moses, he was still new. He was

  86. untested in many ways. And so for that reason,

  87. and for many others, they got stuck. at a very

  88. familiar place, at a place where their ancestors

  89. had come before, right there on the edge of the

  90. promised land, right there near water's edge

  91. of that Jordan, and they got stuck there. And

  92. it seems as if, though, they forgot what this

  93. was all about. They forgot that God didn't call

  94. them just to go on a journey, but he called them

  95. to arrive. Can I tell you today, God called you

  96. to arrive. God didn't call us just to go in circles

  97. and just go in cycles and just walk and walk

  98. and walk and never arrive. God, he has called

  99. all of us to arrive. There is a destination.

  100. And I know we say things like, well, it's not

  101. about the journey or not about the destination,

  102. right? It's about the journey. Well, I come to

  103. tell you, it's not just about the journey. It's

  104. about the destination. We got to get there. Someone

  105. say, I got to get there. I can't just circle

  106. around this thing. We got to get there. they

  107. seem to have forgotten or at least lost sight

  108. of the ultimate goal as they were on the edge

  109. of the Jordan River, and they just couldn't quite

  110. move forward. They were stuck. They were stuck.

  111. And I wonder if somebody today knows that feeling,

  112. if you've ever been stuck before, if you've ever

  113. been stuck in an emotion that you... are experiencing

  114. stuck in a feeling uh stuck in a bad habit stuck

  115. in a mentality uh stuck in some sort of circumstance

  116. that you thought that by now you might be uh

  117. beyond stuck in a season that that is Calendar

  118. -wise, it's over, but you're still stressing

  119. out as if though you're still there. It's still

  120. stressing you out. You're long past that season

  121. or that relationship or that phase of your life,

  122. but somehow it's still influencing the way you

  123. make decisions. It's still influencing the way

  124. you love and the way you let people in. It's

  125. still influencing how you go about your daily

  126. life, how you pray and how you worship and how

  127. you do the things. that you're supposed to do,

  128. it's still influencing. You're just kind of stuck.

  129. And sometimes we get to those places and we don't

  130. even know why we're stuck anymore. We don't know

  131. why we haven't grown to the next level, why we

  132. haven't seen the fruition of God's promises in

  133. our life. And we're just stuck. We're just stuck.

  134. We're just unable to take that next step. It's

  135. not that we don't know what it is. Sometimes

  136. it's right there in front of us. But for one

  137. reason or another, we can't just muster up whatever

  138. faith. We need to take that step. We don't need

  139. another Bible study about it. We don't need another

  140. PowerPoint. We've seen all the reels. We've seen

  141. all the graphics. We don't need a chart. We don't

  142. need a Genesis to Revelation explanation. We

  143. know already that there is this next level that

  144. we need to take. But for reasons beyond our control

  145. at times or for surroundings, we just get stuck.

  146. I don't know if anybody has ever felt like that

  147. in your life. This is where Israel was. This

  148. is where they were. And that's why before God

  149. told Joshua what to do next, he first had to

  150. declare something that was so obvious to everybody.

  151. He says, Moses is dead. Moses is dead. And this

  152. is like one of those things where when you hear

  153. it, it's nothing new, everybody. Everybody knew

  154. that Moses was dead. But you know, sometimes

  155. we don't need like a new and lofty revelation.

  156. Sometimes we just need to be reminded of something

  157. that is factual. Sometimes we need to be brought

  158. back to our senses, not with some new revelation.

  159. Ooh, that's something, man, I've never heard

  160. it explained like that before. Man, the way that

  161. I've never heard it like that. Sometimes we don't

  162. need something brand spanking new. Sometimes

  163. we need to be brought back to a realization that

  164. the thing that you've been holding on to, the

  165. thing that you've been stressing about, the thing

  166. that's got your gears locked up, that thing is

  167. over. Sometimes the greatest truth is not some

  168. new revelation, but a realization. Of what God

  169. has already done. Of a chapter he's already closed.

  170. Come on, preach with me here today. Of a debt

  171. that he's already canceled. Of a sin that he's

  172. already forgiven. Of a threat in your life that

  173. he's already removed. You're worried and stressed

  174. and anxious about things that God has already

  175. dealt with in your life. And I've come today

  176. under the unction of the Holy Ghost to tell you

  177. that it's all right to move on. Give God a hand

  178. of praise right now. Hallelujah. God sent me

  179. here today with an anointed assignment to tell

  180. you it's all right. I give you permission. Take

  181. that next step. You don't got to feel sorry about

  182. it. You don't have to feel apologetic. Sometimes

  183. we don't take that step because we feel that

  184. by doing so, it sends a message to others around

  185. us that we think we're better than them because

  186. we're moving on. No, you moving on is not an

  187. indictment on others who have not. It's you taking

  188. ownership and responding to God's call in your

  189. life and say, I don't have another year to waste.

  190. Come on now. I don't have another month to waste.

  191. I can't let another service go by. I can't let

  192. another sermon. I can't let another opportunity

  193. pass me by. This is the moment that God has placed

  194. in front of me. And instead of looking at others

  195. and what they're going to do, hey, are we all

  196. going to like hold hands and jump at the count

  197. of three? No. Sometimes you got to jump on your

  198. own, my friend. But to get unstuck and get beyond

  199. your Jordan, there are some things that we need

  200. to do. Number one, you got to let. You got to

  201. let old things pass away. You got to let old

  202. things. Someone say old things. I like the song

  203. we were singing, we got a new thing coming. But

  204. some of you, you kept saying, I got an old thing

  205. coming. I got an old thing coming. Because you

  206. don't want to let go. That's not what the song

  207. says. And that's not what scripture teaches us.

  208. God's announcement. is that Moses is dead. And

  209. it was a strong declaration that yesterday is

  210. over. As great as Moses was, and we're not putting

  211. him down. We're not trying to minimize or diminish

  212. who Moses was and what he contributed. No. He

  213. was a great man. But the fact of the matter is,

  214. God has moved on. And where are we stuck where

  215. God has moved on? It's like those that showed

  216. up to the empty tomb. with their spices and to

  217. worship, and the angel announced to them, he's

  218. moved on. Sometimes we show up to places that

  219. God has already moved on from. He's already on

  220. to the next thing. He's already on to the next

  221. person. He's already on to the next area of ministry

  222. that he wants to use you in. So as great as Moses

  223. was, he was gone and it was over. And that era

  224. was marked, that era of Moses. And I feel bad

  225. for him because he himself never got to step

  226. in. He only sought from a distance. God allowed

  227. him to see it with his eyes, but he never got

  228. to step into the land that was promised to his

  229. forefathers because he led a group of people

  230. that for the most part most part they were spiritually

  231. sick. They were disobedient and rebellious and

  232. criticizing and they were ungrateful and they

  233. were full of anger and then mostly they were

  234. unbelieving for what God can do despite the miracles

  235. that God had done through them, bringing them

  236. through the Red Sea and feeding them manna from

  237. heaven, leading them with a pillar of fire by

  238. night and a cloud by day. all the miracles God

  239. did, and still they were unbelieving. And these

  240. are attitudes of the old nature. These are attitudes

  241. of the flesh. These are attitudes of who you

  242. used to be. But God is saying to us today that

  243. season is over. Somebody say it's over. Like

  244. Israel, God did not bring you to the edge of

  245. promise just so that you can carry your old nature,

  246. your old habits. You're all thinking into a new

  247. season. God didn't bring you this far so that

  248. you can carry that baggage into the next season.

  249. Amen. Sometimes when you go places, you got to

  250. get new things. One time I went on a trip and

  251. they lost my baggage. Man, I don't know if that's

  252. ever happened to you. But you know what? God

  253. turned it into a positive thing. Because I bought

  254. a whole new wardrobe. Praise be to God. Sometimes

  255. it's a good thing when you lose your baggage.

  256. Because I got something new for you to wear.

  257. Some of you are thinking right now, man, when

  258. I show up, I'm just going to lose everything.

  259. So I can go to Macy's or Norsum's and hook myself

  260. up and get a brand new. No, no, no, but sometimes

  261. you've got to put on something new for where

  262. you've got to put on Christ, got to put on a

  263. new mentality. The old is out, out with the old,

  264. in with the new. Those old cycles have got to

  265. be broken. That old mindset has got to be renewed.

  266. And let me tell you something. There's something

  267. important that we cannot miss about this stage

  268. of their journey, about how they're about to

  269. go into it. As much as they loved what had happened

  270. or as bad as it was or as good as it was, I call

  271. it. the good, the bad, and the ugly. All of it

  272. has got to be let go or else they cannot step

  273. into where God is calling them to. The Bible

  274. says this in 2 Corinthians 5 and 17. If anyone

  275. is in Christ, he is a new creation. All things

  276. have passed away. Behold, all things. Someone

  277. say all things. All things have become new. If

  278. you want to be new, if you want to be in Christ,

  279. if you have yet to surrender your life to Christ

  280. and say, I want that newness, I want to be new

  281. and totally new, then this is the first step.

  282. You've got to be born again of the water and

  283. of the Spirit. You need to get your name written

  284. in the book of life. You need to surrender, amen,

  285. and be baptized in Jesus' name. name for the

  286. remission of your sins. Hallelujah. So that those

  287. old things can pass away and so that that old

  288. man can be buried. If you want to step into the

  289. newness, the first thing you got to do is bury

  290. the past in the waters of baptism. I'm talking

  291. to somebody here today and be born again of the

  292. water. Is there anybody here today that's been

  293. born again of the water and of the spirit? I

  294. thank God. that when I went down in the mighty

  295. name of Jesus Christ on that day, that when I

  296. went down in the water, my old self, my old life,

  297. my old mind, my old flesh, and my nature was

  298. buried with Christ. And when I came up, my God,

  299. I get excited. When I came up out of the waters,

  300. I left that life at the bottom of the pool. I

  301. left that life. Is there anybody a witness in

  302. the house of God today? Woo, come on. How many

  303. of you are glad that your sins have been washed

  304. away? Thank you, God, of my sins. Every blemish,

  305. every sin, every iniquity, every transgression

  306. has been washed away in that watery grave. Don't

  307. jump back in the pool for stuff that God has

  308. already. Go fishing in the sea of forgetfulness.

  309. Don't try to fish out things that God has already

  310. buried in the water. The apostle Paul taught

  311. us in Romans 6, we were buried. Somebody say

  312. buried. We were buried with him through baptism

  313. unto death. When you are baptized in the name

  314. of Jesus Christ, you are buried with Christ.

  315. You are symbolically. paralleling or mirroring

  316. the steps, reflecting what Christ did in the

  317. Gospels by being dying and being buried and being

  318. resurrected to new life. And if there's somebody

  319. here today that is contemplating and you hear

  320. that call and hear this today, let this be God's

  321. announcement to your life that this is the day

  322. of salvation. God wants to save you. You, young

  323. man, young lady, God wants your name to be written

  324. in the book of life. God wants to bury the past

  325. and bring you up into new life. It's for you.

  326. But how about those of us that have already been

  327. to the waters and have already been baptized?

  328. What about us? Well, then you've got a responsibility

  329. to remain in Christ. Because every day you wake

  330. up, my friend, it's a choice to put on Christ.

  331. It's a choice. If you can put him on, you can

  332. take him off. Oh, Lord, help us when we wake

  333. up some days and we don't put him on. I don't

  334. want people to see me. I want them to see Christ.

  335. And the only way that's going to happen is I

  336. got to put him on. Got to put on Christ. Got

  337. to remain in Christ and stand firm in the newness

  338. of your identity. And don't let those old habits,

  339. because the enemy will try to cause you to slip

  340. back to where you came from. He'll try to sneak

  341. in old lies and old habits creeping back into

  342. your life. You need to remember, saint of the

  343. living God, you need to remember you are a child

  344. of God now. Hello, somebody. I said, you're a

  345. child of God now. You're not just anybody. You're

  346. the seed of Abraham. Oh, my God. You're the son

  347. of the most high. Let me tell the ladies in here,

  348. you're not just a woman. You're a woman of God.

  349. You're a, oh, my Lord. You're a daughter of the

  350. king. My God. You're somebody special. Men, you're

  351. not just a man. You're not just a dude. No, you're

  352. a son of God. Hallelujah. child of God. You're

  353. a son of the king. You're a prince. Hallelujah.

  354. And so since we have now received Christ and

  355. have been born again and having our sins that

  356. were a scarlet made white as snow, we have now

  357. been called to a life of sanctification and holiness

  358. under God, lifting up holy hands and guarding

  359. our tongue, putting a brittle on our tongue and

  360. being faithful unto the Lord and being who God

  361. has called. Don't let nobody convince you that

  362. you're anything but a child of God. You are a

  363. royal seed. I wish I had. A witness. You say,

  364. Pastor, why is it so important that I remember

  365. who I am? Because that's the one thing the devil

  366. wants to rob you of. The devil wants to convince

  367. you that you're a nobody, that you're a has -been,

  368. that you're a washed -up person. He wants you

  369. to think that you're a loser, that you've got

  370. nothing going for you, that you're at the bottom

  371. and not at the top. But I've come to call the

  372. devil a liar here today. I wish I had. I've come

  373. to call Satan a liar. and say, Satan, I am who

  374. God says that I am. If he says that I'm the head

  375. and not the tail, that's who I am. If he says

  376. I am above and not below, is there somebody that

  377. believes what I'm preaching? I've got to know

  378. who I am because if I don't know who I am, then

  379. I can't access what belongs to me. Absolutely,

  380. sir. Let's see some identification. You're like,

  381. oh, well, come on, man, I'm him. Remember me

  382. from last week? We don't do that around here.

  383. We need to see some identification. You can't

  384. even take out $5 from the bank account without

  385. showing some form of ID. You got to prove who

  386. you are. And every good thing, my God, every

  387. good thing that God has promised to you, you

  388. don't get to have it just because you dance and

  389. shout. Anybody can dance and shout. You don't

  390. get it just because you can run. Usain Bolt can

  391. outrun all of us. You don't get it because you

  392. can jump high. Michael Jordan. can jump higher

  393. than all of us. You get it because you know who

  394. you are. And even if you don't have strength

  395. to jump and strength to run, even if you don't

  396. have a voice to sing, all you got to know is

  397. that I am a child of God and everything this

  398. book says I can have, I can have. I don't got

  399. to beg. Come on, somebody. I don't got to beg

  400. for it. I don't got to cry about it. All I got

  401. to do is claim my promises in the name. of Jesus.

  402. I've got to claim it today. All I've got to do

  403. is claim these promises that are mine. And saying,

  404. devil, I'm not asking. I'm taking what belongs

  405. to me. Oh, I've got to move on. Hallelujah. So

  406. we've got to know who we are. We've got to let

  407. those old things go and put on the newness and

  408. walk. Walk in the newness. And there's a particular

  409. way we must do this. Give me a few more moments

  410. of your time because what the Israelites show

  411. us is that we don't just rush into God's purpose.

  412. We don't just run haphazardly or casually into

  413. the things of God. When Israel reached the Jordan,

  414. the leaders commanded the people. Watch what

  415. it says in verse 3. When you see, Joshua 3, 3.

  416. When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord

  417. your God. and the priests, and the Levites. Then

  418. you shall set out from your place and go after

  419. it. The Ark of the Covenant symbolizes the glory

  420. of God or his manifest presence. This was a symbolic

  421. representation of the Spirit of God among his

  422. people. And they were given clear instructions

  423. that when you cross over this Jordan, you are

  424. not simply jumping the river. You're not simply

  425. to just dash across. You've got to make sure

  426. that you follow the order that I have established.

  427. God is a God of order. And he has ordered certain

  428. things for us to follow. And he said, I want

  429. you to follow this. And so for us today, this

  430. means that you need to follow, number two, the

  431. lead of God's glory. He must follow the lead

  432. of his glory. Following the glory, following

  433. the ark was not about logistics. It was not about,

  434. in fact, if anything, it was anti -logistics.

  435. It made things more complicated. It made things

  436. a little more difficult to follow this heavy

  437. ark across the Jordan. In fact, it made things

  438. problematic. If you're looking at it, it's just

  439. purely from a logical perspective. point of view

  440. but this is what God has prescribed and sometimes

  441. God will call us to follow him in a way that

  442. doesn't always make sense to us in our natural

  443. mind are you hearing me this afternoon he will

  444. call us down a path or a direction that doesn't

  445. always make sense don't try to understand God

  446. Hello, somebody. Don't try to understand him.

  447. The more you try to understand him, sometimes

  448. his ways and his thoughts, the more confused

  449. or discouraged you might be. But sometimes you

  450. simply have to trust and not lean on your own

  451. understanding, but acknowledge him in all of

  452. your ways and he shall direct your... Oh, Israel

  453. was learning a valuable lesson at this time.

  454. They were learning that if you're going to enter

  455. into the promises of God, enter into a greater

  456. revival, enter into seeing your friends and your

  457. family members saved, enter into seeing the miracles

  458. of God come to pass in your life, enter into

  459. a land that flows with milk and honey. If you're

  460. going to step in, then you're going to do it

  461. God's way. Someone say God's way. Come on, say

  462. it again. Say God's way. You're not going to

  463. do this on your own. You're not going to find

  464. a back route. You're not going to find an alternate

  465. route. You're not going to find a shortcut. You've

  466. got to do it God's way. Hallelujah. And God has

  467. a way. You know, there is a way that looks right

  468. unto man, but the path thereof leads to destruction.

  469. You better not be following your own intuition,

  470. brother. Come on. You better not be following

  471. your own God. I got good gut instincts. Your

  472. good gut instincts got you into a bad relationship.

  473. That's all it did. Hello, come on, somebody.

  474. Yeah, I got good instincts. Your good instincts

  475. got you signed up for something that you never

  476. should have been involved in. I don't want to

  477. trust my instincts in 2026. Come on. I don't

  478. want to trust my intuition. I don't want to trust

  479. what I'm hearing on Instagram. Just because you

  480. saw a reel last night at 1 .30 in the morning

  481. doesn't mean that's the will of God for you.

  482. Just because there's a popular podcast. saying

  483. this or that. I want to know what thus saith

  484. the Lord. Come on, somebody. Just because you

  485. found one or two people to agree with you over

  486. a cup of coffee, that doesn't mean it's God's

  487. will for your life. I want to be led by the glory

  488. of God. Got to be led by it. Back in the day,

  489. you know, people would consult horoscopes and

  490. things like that. And it's concerning to me now

  491. in the modern age. age and the social media age

  492. and the Instagram real age and the clips that

  493. we see, the viral clips and all these things

  494. that are popping up in our feeds, what people

  495. are being led. We're being led by people. I'm

  496. talking to the next generation. Is that all right?

  497. I'm going to say go ahead. You're taking advice

  498. from people who don't have a relationship with

  499. God. You're taking advice from people who consult

  500. soothsayers and have witches in their life. You're

  501. taking advice from people. who are not filled

  502. with the Spirit of God. You're taking advice

  503. from people who don't even agree with you on

  504. the essentials of doctrine and salvation and

  505. right living. You've got to be careful who you're

  506. consulting in this hour. Let me tell you something

  507. about the devil. Somebody say, go ahead. The

  508. devil wears many different masks. He'll show

  509. up on one day looking one way, and on the next

  510. he'll use whatever mask works in your life to

  511. get you to believe something that will take you

  512. astray. So right now I am preaching to somebody

  513. here today. You got to follow the glory of God.

  514. What does God want for my life? And if that's

  515. not what it is, then it's not going to work for

  516. me. It might be a good thing. I don't want a

  517. good thing. I want it to be a God thing. I don't

  518. want a good opportunity. I want a God opportunity.

  519. Come on. praise today. I'm preaching this today.

  520. Somebody say, go ahead. I got to tell you that

  521. you cannot be led. Don't follow your feelings

  522. and expect God's favor. Don't follow your feelings

  523. and expect God's favor. If you want God's favor,

  524. you got to do it God's way. God's not going to

  525. let you cut corners for you. He's not going to

  526. bend the rules. If you want to be blessed, there's

  527. a way. There's a pattern. Hallelujah. There's

  528. a model that we ought to follow. Too many Christians

  529. are self -led and they feel validated and justified

  530. in what they're thinking, what they're feeling.

  531. Because they found two or three people to agree

  532. with them. Or like I said, they found a reel

  533. that said, oh, I'm going to double like that.

  534. I'm going to share it to my story. It doesn't

  535. matter. I don't care if you share it to your

  536. story or how many people you say. If it's not

  537. God's will and if it doesn't line up with this

  538. book. Come on now. Got a little quiet when I

  539. said that. That's all right. Because the crickets

  540. will praise God. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. But

  541. I want God's best. How many of you want God's

  542. best for your life? Amen. I want his best. Paul

  543. writes, as many as are led by the spirit of God,

  544. these are the sons of God. These are the sons

  545. of God. Being born again, what does it do? It

  546. qualifies you for inheritance. Being born again.

  547. As I mentioned, you can't even pull out $5 from

  548. the bank without knowing who you are. And it's

  549. the same in the kingdom of God. You got to know

  550. who you are. You got to be led of the spirit.

  551. And yes, being born again makes you a son. Being

  552. led of the spirit keeps you a son. I'm under

  553. the covering of God. I'm under the protection

  554. of God. Under the secret place, under the shadow

  555. of the almighty. Hallelujah. The secret place

  556. of the most high. That's where I am. And I don't

  557. want to get outside of that covering. And that

  558. covering includes the covering that God puts

  559. in your life, such as the pastor and the spiritual

  560. leadership. I've got to cover you. I've got to

  561. help you. I've got to shepherd you. And you've

  562. got to stay within that. And I know that's not

  563. a practice in the 21st century, but we've got

  564. to get back to a place of covering and say, Pastor,

  565. we would like your help and your blessing on

  566. this. I'm going to lose everybody now. I'm just

  567. going to do it. No, pastor's not saying I'm not

  568. a financial consultant. I'm not a real estate

  569. agent. I'm not none of those things. So I'm not

  570. going to give you advice and say, yeah, go do

  571. this and then you're in debt. Pastor told me

  572. to do it. No. But when is it wrong to ask for

  573. prayer? Give me one verse in the Bible where

  574. it says it's wrong to ask your pastor to pray

  575. with you about this. I just feel something. I'm

  576. just going to go there. Because if we're going

  577. to do this thing, if we're going to do it right.

  578. How do I come under alignment? How do I ensure

  579. that I'm following the glory? Because some people

  580. say, well, I don't need leadership. I don't need

  581. a pastor. As long as I got a Bible. As long as

  582. I can pray. There's a lot of people who are praying

  583. and they're praying themselves right outside

  584. the will of God. I'm going to tell you something.

  585. I got a tweetable hot thing you can tell somebody.

  586. Praying is not a substitute for obedience. You

  587. can pray yourself to sleep every night and still

  588. be disobedient in what God is telling you to

  589. do. Feeling the Holy Ghost. Can I tell you, goosebumps.

  590. Woo -hoo. Goosebumps. That's not confirmation

  591. that that's God's will. You're going to feel

  592. something if you step in a cold room. You're

  593. going to feel something if you step into a hot

  594. atmosphere. You're just responding to what you

  595. feel. Come on. I was preaching now. I'm talking.

  596. But we got to get back to that. We got to get

  597. back to that. And whether we like it or not,

  598. the glory, the Ark of the Covenant was being

  599. led on the shoulders of the priests and the Levites.

  600. And the people of God were to follow them. Now.

  601. Before you criticize those that are upholding

  602. the ark, that are helping to lead, understand

  603. that those people are carrying a weight that

  604. not everyone else is called to carry. And not

  605. everybody's going to carry the ark. Not everyone's

  606. going to have to have the burden, the responsibility

  607. of carrying the ark. And this is why I feel God

  608. leading me to mention these things, to understand

  609. that. Let me just say something about ministry.

  610. Is that all right? Ministry is not for those

  611. who are talented necessarily. It's not those

  612. who are gifted. Ministry is for those who can

  613. handle the weight. There's a lot of people that

  614. got all the gifts. All the talent in the world,

  615. but they're not cut out for ministry. Why? Because

  616. you put just a little bit of weight on them,

  617. and they crumble. A little bit of responsibility,

  618. a little bit of, hey, how come you didn't call

  619. me and tell me you were going to, oh, man, you

  620. know, these people are demanding around here.

  621. You don't show up to work, and what happens?

  622. Oh, man, I just had better get ready to come

  623. up to the keyboard in a few minutes, sister,

  624. because I feel something happening now. And he

  625. said, well, man, this is. That's old school.

  626. Yes, it is old school. But, you know, sometimes

  627. the old school kept people in line, serving God,

  628. loving him. And I don't always like what they're

  629. asking of me. But you know what? But this is

  630. the right way. And I'm not willing to take any

  631. gambling. I'm not willing to gamble with my salvation

  632. and with the future of my children. And so back

  633. to the ministry, it's how much you can handle.

  634. Amen. And hear me. Those that were carrying the

  635. ark over, that was not comfortable. Imagine.

  636. Because the water hadn't parted yet. So they're

  637. walking into a river. I don't know, maybe they

  638. had little fishes that were nibbling on their

  639. ankles or something. I don't know. It wasn't

  640. comfortable. The water was cold. And then they

  641. got this heavy ark on them. And so the people

  642. of God were instructed to follow the leadership.

  643. Now, if one of those people falls and one of

  644. those people, then. That's between them and God.

  645. But my job as being a part of the nation of Israel,

  646. being a part of the congregation, God's holy

  647. people, I've got to follow this ark because this

  648. is the prescribed way that God has given to his

  649. church, to his people. So they begin to follow.

  650. And as they begin to follow, something began

  651. to happen. Something started happening. And my

  652. third and last point here, and then we'll wrap

  653. it up, amen, is that you've got to cross over.

  654. Someone say cross over. You've got to cross over

  655. in faith. Cross over in faith. Not in the flesh.

  656. Someone say not in the flesh. But in faith. Sister,

  657. if you can come. I need to just deliver this

  658. final point to you. Is you got to cross over

  659. in faith. It all came down to this moment. Israel

  660. had their marching orders. And it was all or

  661. nothing. It was do or die. This was it. This

  662. was the moment that everybody had been waiting

  663. for. But they would come to understand something

  664. about the way God works. That God, God has the

  665. right to change things and do things a little

  666. different than the way they were done yesterday.

  667. Because the last time Israel crossed the body

  668. of water, The Red Sea parted both ways, and before

  669. they even stepped in, the ground was already

  670. dry. But this time, they're stepping into something

  671. that has not quite parted yet. This time, they

  672. got to step. Now, imagine if they said to themselves,

  673. well, wait a minute. This is not the way God

  674. did it for mom and dad. This is not the way God

  675. did it. So while some things. Won't change. There

  676. are some other things that can change. And God

  677. is saying, is your mind, is your heart open to

  678. the things that I want to do differently in your

  679. life today? That's going to look different than

  680. how I did it yesterday. Amen, somebody. Somebody

  681. say amen. They were ready to take the land. They

  682. were ready to step in. On the other side of the

  683. Jordan, you know what was there? Houses that

  684. they didn't build. Amen. How many of you want

  685. to go into a house that you didn't build? I want

  686. to live in the Bay Area, man. I need somebody

  687. to get me a house that I didn't build. And that's

  688. free and clear. Praise God. Hallelujah. Houses

  689. that you didn't build. You know what I feel like

  690. prophesying to this church? God's going to give

  691. this church a house we didn't build. Hallelujah.

  692. I said God's going to give us a house that we

  693. didn't build. Pastor, what does that mean? That

  694. means take a good look at this building right

  695. here. This is where we are today, but it's not

  696. where we're going to be tomorrow. God's got something

  697. greater. God's got a promise. God's got a blessing.

  698. A house that we didn't build. Stand up on your

  699. feet and let's give God some glory today. about

  700. you but i'm ready for a house that i didn't build

  701. i'm ready for a vineyard that i didn't plant

  702. my god my god my god can i preach like i want

  703. to for a few more moments right now There was

  704. houses that they didn't build. And those houses

  705. represent structures. They represent places.

  706. And I prophesied to this church and every member

  707. and every believer and every friend and guest

  708. here today that God's got a space for you. God's

  709. got a place for us. And all we got to do is be

  710. obedient to the word of the Lord. All I got to

  711. do is take my marching orders and march my way

  712. right in. into the blessings of God. All I've

  713. got to do is do it God's way. And if God says

  714. go right, go right. And if God says go left,

  715. go left. But at the end of it all, I'm going

  716. to be placing my feet on the other side of the

  717. Jordan. Placing my feet on the other side of

  718. that obstacle. I don't know what that obstacle

  719. is today. I don't know what that fear is today.

  720. That fear, that anxiety, oh, that problem, that

  721. impossibility, whatever that thing is, I've come

  722. to tell you in the name of Jesus, you are an

  723. heir, Jordan. I got to cross over. I got to get

  724. to the other side. I got to see the blessings

  725. and the promises of God. Somebody worship the

  726. Lord today. Somebody magnify his name. on the

  727. other side is the marriage you've always wanted

  728. on the other side is the family that you've been

  729. praying for on the other side are the children

  730. that you've been praying for on the other side

  731. are the souls that God wants to give you on the

  732. other side is the promotion Blessing, restoration,

  733. revival. Somebody give God a praise in this place

  734. right now. hallelujah i wonder if you could just

  735. give god the glory i wonder if you could just

  736. thank god right now thank you jesus thank you

  737. jesus hallelujah somebody's saying well pastor

  738. what about that jordan in my life i've got a

  739. big barrier between me and where i need to go

  740. let me God did not bring you to the Jordan so

  741. the Jordan would stop you. God brought you to

  742. the Jordan so that you can cross over. The Jordan

  743. is not. Let me tell you something right now.

  744. Stop letting the devil tell you that the Jordan

  745. is a wall or a barrier that cannot be overcome.

  746. The devil is a liar. The Jordan is not a barrier.

  747. The Jordan is a vehicle. The Jordan is transportation.

  748. The Jordan is. There's a way to get from here

  749. to there. Don't let nobody talk you out of your

  750. blessing. Don't let nobody talk you out of your

  751. miracle. Don't let nobody talk you out of revival,

  752. of joy, of peace. In the Holy Ghost, somebody

  753. lift up your voice. Somebody magnify the Lord.

  754. Somebody bless his name. Somebody thank his name.

  755. Here's your name. Somebody lift up a shout unto

  756. the Lord with a voice of triumph, with a voice

  757. of praise. Hallelujah. Shout hallelujah. Hallelujah.

  758. Oh, God. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah.

  759. I'm going to tell you right now, I'm stepping

  760. over my Jordan. I'm stepping over my Jordan.

  761. I'm stepping over my Jordan. You know why? Because

  762. I'm an heir of God. I'm a child of the living

  763. God. I've got promises. My Bible says, Brother

  764. Ben, that the promises of God are yes and amen.

  765. That means it already belongs to me. It's already

  766. got my name on it. It's already been designated

  767. and set apart for me. And it's waiting on me.

  768. To say it's mine. I wonder if there's somebody

  769. right now that can shout it's mine. It's mine.

  770. It's mine. Say it's mine right now. Now if it's

  771. yours, I tell you right now, why don't you give

  772. God praise for about 30 seconds.
