  1. Before we begin the message that we have prepared

  2. for today, I thank God for this opportunity.

  3. We're going to be giving a little bit of time.

  4. If you can give your attention to a testimony

  5. that we're going to hear right now. Praise God

  6. that will be on our screen here. Praise God.

  7. Hi, my name is Kong Lower, and I've been a member

  8. of City Light Church for about a year now. I

  9. got baptized last year in March, I believe. So

  10. it's been a year. But my story is I've never,

  11. in my life, I didn't grow up with Jesus Christ

  12. in the household. I grew up very, very shamanism,

  13. Hmong way, right? The way I came into contact

  14. with Christ was because of my good friend, Isai.

  15. We met in high school, and ever since then, little

  16. here and there, he'll try to throw, not throw,

  17. but he'll try to introduce me to God. And I've

  18. always been kind of on, I would say, like shielded

  19. or on the defense with it. He always tried to

  20. keep pushing it. He always tried to keep pushing

  21. it. And maybe 10 years later, I got baptized.

  22. I got baptized because one day I had this stomach

  23. sickness that was very, very bad. I had a very

  24. bad sickness. And this pain in my stomach just

  25. wouldn't go away. And if you know me, I... I

  26. don't not like going to the hospitals. I despise

  27. going to hospitals, which is bad. You should

  28. go to the hospital if you have to. But I didn't

  29. want to go. And one night I was just on my bed.

  30. I was curled up because the pain was so much.

  31. I almost went to the hospital once or two times,

  32. but I turned to God. Like Isaias always told

  33. me, I turned to God. And I prayed to God. And

  34. I asked him, I said, Lord, if you're real, if

  35. you're here, I pray that you take the sickness

  36. away. And if you do, I will believe in you. And

  37. just like that, honestly, it sounds so fake,

  38. but it was real. Just like that, the pain went

  39. away. And that's when I knew that God was real,

  40. that I should believe in him, just like how we

  41. all should. And that's when Isai introduced me

  42. to City Light Church. And I love the people here.

  43. They're so welcoming. Even though you may think

  44. that you're different, they don't see that here.

  45. We are all the same. And they show love. They're

  46. like a family to me now. Amen. Just like that.

  47. That's how God works. I like, I love that. And

  48. yes, God responds to our requests just like that.

  49. And I know that I've been there. And how many

  50. have ever been in a point of, you know, excuse

  51. the word, but desperation where there's just

  52. no other way out. There's just no other remedy

  53. anywhere, but just. call out to God. Just call

  54. out to him and the Lord will answer your prayer,

  55. your request. Amen. And that's the way our God

  56. is because he's everywhere at the same time.

  57. And he was with Kong for all those years. And

  58. the plan was that he would give his life to Christ

  59. and believe in him completely. And we're so glad

  60. that he surrendered. Praise God. His will for

  61. the will of God. Praise God. Just like many of

  62. us here today, and for those of you that maybe

  63. are not here, you're listening online, the Lord

  64. is waiting for you too. Praise God. Definitely

  65. the will of God and the plan of God that you

  66. can experience. Praise God. Salvation for yourself.

  67. Healing for your body, your mind, your soul.

  68. Praise God. And we're so grateful. Thank God

  69. for that testimony. Praise God. And we know we've

  70. already heard a few times, and you can see it

  71. on the screen, that today is what we... we reference

  72. or we acknowledge as Pentecost Sunday. It is

  73. because possibly many, many people throughout

  74. the world in the valley here are celebrating

  75. this day. This is something that brings us together

  76. is that we believe in the outpouring of the Holy

  77. Ghost. And we're going to be talking about that,

  78. but I'm going to take a few moments to give you

  79. a little bit of a backdrop on why and how significant

  80. this day is. And we've read it many times. If

  81. you've read the book of Acts, you know. that

  82. there was an upper room experience and there

  83. was an outpouring of the Holy Ghost. But I want

  84. to take you a little bit deeper, if I can, in

  85. the plan of God. Because, you know, God doesn't

  86. just think things up just the last minute like

  87. sometimes we do. Think of doing something the

  88. very last minute, last second, you thought of

  89. something and you did it. But God, he doesn't

  90. work that way. From the beginning of even time,

  91. time did not even exist until he created the

  92. heavens and the earth. Time was eternal. There

  93. was no clock. There was no time. But even before

  94. all of that, he had a plan. of salvation, and

  95. that plan is for you and me today. Praise God.

  96. That Holy Ghost that we referenced too many times

  97. in the book of Acts, that was already predetermined

  98. in eternity for us today. Isn't that awesome?

  99. Praise God. So I want to take you back to, we're

  100. going to set a foundation, if I may, in the book

  101. of Acts chapter 2 and verse 1 to 4. It reads

    Acts 2 chapter mention

  102. this way. When the day of Pentecost had fully

  103. come, they were all with one accord in one place.

  104. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as

  105. of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole

  106. house where they were sitting. Then there appeared

  107. to them divided tongues as of fire, and sat upon

  108. each of them. And they were all filled with the

  109. Holy Spirit. and began to speak with other tongues

  110. as the Spirit gave them utterance. Many times

  111. we have referenced this scripture. You know,

  112. I had the privilege of doing a tour to Israel

  113. and particularly, especially Jerusalem, what

  114. we call the old Jerusalem. And they, in part

  115. of the tour there, they took us to what was considered

  116. to be the upper room where... the 120 were gathered,

  117. and it was quite an experience, and I can't guarantee

  118. that that was it, but for the most part, they,

  119. you know, the theologians and geologists, they

  120. believe that that was. it or very close to it.

  121. At any rate, it was interesting to be there and

  122. just to imagine how it all may have happened

  123. on that day, how they were gathered in that upper

  124. room just in tearing there in prayer and in belief

  125. and faith for something they had never, ever

  126. experienced. Man had never experienced what they

  127. were anticipating. Isn't it interesting to...

  128. be anticipating something that you have never

  129. experienced, and that's the way it was. Even

  130. having been with the Lord for three, three and

  131. a half years, and some maybe less, and others

  132. more, however, the disciples and the followers

  133. of Jesus, following him around, and much had

  134. been said about that day, and not until that

  135. morning or that day did they really experience

  136. what it was all about. And let me tell you something

  137. before I get into my thought here today a little

  138. more. It was worth it. Somebody tell your neighbor

  139. it is worth it. When you get the Holy Ghost in

  140. your life, let me tell you, it is worth it. There's

  141. nothing in this world that can compare to the

  142. Holy Ghost. Amen. Pentecost is one of the most...

  143. ancient celebrated feasts of Israel, the Jewish

  144. nation. When God was about to lead the children

  145. of Israel out of Egypt, he instituted what was

  146. called the Feast of the Passover. On the night

  147. that the Israelites, the night before they were

  148. about to exit from slavery from Egypt, they were

  149. commanded to celebrate the Passover. And that

  150. particular Passover was what we acknowledge as

  151. the Exodus. When we think about the Passover,

  152. we think about the Exodus. To liberate God's

  153. people from bondage. The Passover was a liberation

  154. time. It was their departure from... Egypt. And

  155. the Lord instructed them to celebrate it on that

  156. day. And it was an unusual thing for them even

  157. to do such a thing because they weren't used

  158. to those kind of divine orders. But the Passover

  159. is a typology. of the sacrificial lamb and the

  160. shedding of blood. It was a foreshadow of what

  161. was going to come. Everything in the Old Testament,

  162. the experiences and the commandments of the Lord,

  163. the festivities, the feasts that were instituted

  164. in the Old Testament was a shadow of the real

  165. thing to come. And Israel as a nation, they practiced

  166. this. literally on the night of their liberation.

  167. But as you know, and the story says, the blood

  168. of the sacrifice was put on the doorposts of

  169. the believers, of the Israelite people. They

  170. put the blood on their doorposts as a typology

  171. of the power of the blood that would overcome

  172. the sting of death. I thank God for the blood.

  173. How many thank God for the blood? Whether you've

  174. ever, amen, done such, believed in the blood,

  175. I believe that many people have declared the

  176. blood of Jesus upon things. John the Baptist,

  177. when he first had his encounter with Jesus Christ,

  178. in John 1 .29, he says, the next day John saw

  179. Jesus coming toward him, and he said, behold

  180. the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the

  181. world. All this in a nutshell. Jesus Christ became

  182. what they were practicing in the foreshadow,

  183. what they were practicing back then. Jesus became

  184. the reality of it in the New Testament. In Ephesians

  185. 1 and 7, it says, in him we have redemption through

  186. his blood, the forgiveness of sins according

  187. to the riches of grace. In other words, the blood

  188. that they put, the Israelites put, on their doorposts

  189. the sacrifice that they made in their home that

  190. night. That sacrifice was Jesus for us. It was

  191. a foreshadow of the Lord Jesus Christ. The blood

  192. that they took and put it on the doorpost as

  193. the angel of death came through the midnight

  194. hour and whosoever did not have the blood on

  195. the doorpost would lose their firstborn. He would

  196. die. And you can just imagine that all of Egypt

  197. was going in turmoil. People screaming everywhere

  198. because the death angel had come by. And the

  199. firstborn of every household, if they did not

  200. have the blood of the Lamb, the sacrifice on

  201. the doorpost of their home. the death angel would

  202. come in and take their firstborn. But thank be

  203. to God that those that believed on that time,

  204. they put the blood of the sacrifice upon the

  205. doorposts. And let me tell you something, the

  206. Lord taught us there that death cannot touch

  207. you if the blood is upon your life. And let me

  208. say this, when you have the blood of Jesus, when

  209. you're buried in... Baptism with him. And you

  210. resurrect together with him. The blood of the

  211. almighty son of God is upon your life. Death

  212. has no more sting upon you. You are alive today

  213. because of that blood of Jesus Christ. Somebody

  214. say thank you for the blood. Thank God for the

  215. blood. 50 days after the Israelites exodus out

  216. of slavery. 50 days and you all know a lot of

  217. things happened just to get out of Egypt. There

  218. had to be great miracles as they exited out of

  219. Egypt. There were so many miracles that were

  220. happening. But 50 days after they passed through

  221. the Red Sea and so many things from slavery in

  222. their journey through the wilderness, they arrived

  223. at a mount called... Mount Sinai. When it was

  224. there in Mount Sinai, in just that space of time,

  225. that God revealed himself to Moses. If you recall,

  226. God called Moses up to the mount. And up on the

  227. mountain, the Lord revealed himself to him once

  228. again. Probably the last time he had that experience

  229. was at the burning bush. But now he had an encounter

  230. with God on the mountaintop. The Lord revealed

  231. himself to Moses. But out of all of that, the

  232. Bible teaches us that he wrote his law. God wrote

  233. his law with his finger on tablets of stone.

  234. And he gave them to Moses for all the nation

  235. of Israel. Let me say something here today. God,

  236. amen, he always has a plan for his people. We

  237. never catch God off guard. God had a plan. planned.

  238. And from the beginning, he knew that he was going

  239. to meet with Moses on that mountaintop. And it

  240. was going to be on that mountaintop where God

  241. was going to speak a word. Amen. But he spoke

  242. it onto tablets of stone. And it was on those

  243. tablets of stone, praise God, that we got the

  244. initial, amen, the beginning of the revelation

  245. of God and his word. He put it on. stones, tablet

  246. stones. At that time, they were commanded to

  247. observe this law daily. Every day they observed

  248. it, but more than that, they were told, the Lord

  249. told them that they were commanded to observe

  250. this particular event annually to commemorate

  251. the giving of the law every year. Amen. Fifty

  252. days after, praise God, fifty days after, the

  253. celebration of the Passover feast. They were

  254. to celebrate the 50th day, which was the feast

  255. of Pentecost. From then until now, the feast

  256. of Pentecost, which is known as the feast of

  257. the harvest, has been celebrated by the Jewish

  258. nation. It was nothing new to the Israelites.

  259. It was something that they practiced every year.

  260. Praise God, they would celebrate Pentecost. It

  261. costs as the harvest, the first fruits, the harvest

  262. time, praise God. But it was interesting how

  263. the Lord, he established 50 days after Exodus,

  264. they celebrated. Pentecost, that was the giving

  265. of the word, the giving of the law. The word

  266. Pentecost comes from the Greek word that calls

  267. Pentecoste, which means the 50th day. So God

  268. is interested in how specific he is in everything.

  269. He just didn't say, well, let's do it today.

  270. No, it was all in the mind of God. Everything

  271. that we experience today, praise God, your life

  272. in him. It's not an accident. Kong didn't just

  273. accept Christ 10 years later. It was an appointed

  274. time for him to meet up with his Savior. It was

  275. an appointed time for every one of us to meet

  276. up with our Savior. You see, God in his mind,

  277. he had an appointed time for you, amen, to have

  278. that encounter with him. In the book of Acts,

  279. on the day of Pentecost, amen, fully come. is

  280. when the Jewish had properly commemorated the

  281. law of God on the mount. Yes, it was called the

  282. Feast of Weeks. The Lord chose this very day

  283. to confirm His Word and a new order by the pouring

  284. out of His Spirit upon all the believers. It

  285. was the fulfillment of the promise of God, the

  286. shift from the tablets of stone to the hearts

  287. of men signifies a transition from the old covenant,

  288. the Mosaic covenant, to the new covenant, which

  289. was the grace of God, the dispensation of grace.

  290. And by it, amen, he sealed it by commemorating

  291. that day, by pouring out of his spirit upon 120

  292. people. On Matthew 5, 17, it says, do not think

  293. that I came to destroy, Destroy the law, the

  294. Lord says, or the prophets. I did not come to

  295. destroy it, but I came to fulfill it. On the

  296. day of... Pentecost. He did not destroy the law.

  297. He came to fulfill the law. Praise God, somebody.

  298. It was Christ fulfilling the law. Back then on

  299. Mount Sinai, they received the word of God. But

  300. on the day of Pentecost, 50 days after the Passover,

  301. 50 days after they buried Jesus in a tomb, amen,

  302. he came back to commemorate the Pentecost day.

  303. The harvest time, the earth, the beginning, the

  304. birth of his church. Somebody say praise the

  305. Lord. Jeremiah prophesied in this transition.

  306. He said in Jeremiah 31, 33, he says, but this

  307. is the covenant that I will make with the house

  308. of Israel. After those days, says the Lord, I

  309. will put my law in their hearts and write it

  310. in their hearts, in their minds, and write it

  311. in their hearts, and I will be their God, and

  312. they shall be my people. Let me say this. The

  313. new covenant was the fulfillment in the New Testament.

  314. See, God made a new covenant with his people.

  315. He became the testator. He became the one that

  316. died and rose again and made it alive in our

  317. hearts. God promised to write his laws directly

  318. into our hearts and our minds. I don't know if

  319. somebody has the word of God in your life today.

  320. This represents an eternal transformation where

  321. the whole Holy Spirit empowers the believers

  322. to obey God from a place of love and not demand.

  323. Amen. I don't know about you. I'm not here because

  324. somebody twisted my arm. I am here because of

  325. the love of God. He said, if I be lifted up,

  326. I'll draw men unto me. For God so loved the world

  327. that he gave his only begotten son. He loved

  328. you. loves me here today rather than an external

  329. obligation. I do it out of love. How many responded

  330. to God because of love? Amen. The scripture declares

  331. Jesus as the word. And let me tell you something.

  332. Back then Moses didn't know what was going on.

  333. He was experiencing God in a whole nother dimension

  334. from the burning bush to Mount Sinai where the

  335. Lord appeared unto him. But John 1 says, and

  336. 1 is It says, in the beginning was the Word,

  337. and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

  338. In 14, it says, and the Word became flesh, and

  339. it dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the

  340. glory of the only begotten of God, the Father,

  341. full of grace and truth. Somebody say, praise

  342. the Lord. I'm so glad that He came back, not

  343. to Mount Sinai, but He came back in the form

  344. of a... man. He came in the form of flesh. But

  345. let me say this. The Bible says that it was the

  346. word of God, not on tablets, but it was in him.

  347. And he demonstrated it. If you saw him, you would

  348. see the father. He was all in one. Amen. Great

  349. is the mystery of godliness. If we believe in

  350. God. You believe in Jesus. Because they say,

  351. have you seen me? You've seen the Father. They're

  352. one and the same. He is the Word. He's the Word

  353. in my spirit and my soul. It's not on the tablets

  354. of stone. It's in my heart. We now celebrate

  355. Pentecost. Not because of the old historical

  356. event of the Israelites receiving the tablets

  357. of the law. but because of the Holy Ghost that

  358. initiated a new covenant, a new order, and a

  359. new dispensation of grace. For the Jews, Pentecost

  360. was the time when they celebrated the first harvest

  361. of the agricultural year. It was a time of thanksgiving

  362. for what the land had produced and what their

  363. labor had yielded. Jewish feast, Pentecost, was

  364. celebrated as the seal. Somebody say the seal.

  365. of the covenant, Mosaic covenant. It was a seal

  366. for them. Praise God, because it gave life because

  367. of the harvest, the first fruits. It was life.

  368. It was sustaining. It was what they needed to

  369. survive. It was given at Mount Sinai, transforming

  370. the Israelites from Egyptian order, a life of

  371. slavery, amen, to a free nation governed by a

  372. divine law that That Moses had received on Mount

  373. Sinai. But he listened to this. The apostle Paul.

  374. Wrote about a new seal. For he whosoever will

  375. confess Jesus Christ. As the word made flesh.

  376. And the new covenant. And accept his word. In

  377. our hearts and in your hearts. A flesh through

  378. repentance. And the baptism in his name. He promised

  379. to confirm our salvation. With a seal. Somebody

  380. say the seal, hallelujah, of the Holy Ghost,

  381. which is his promise. In Ephesians 1 .13 it says,

  382. in him you also trusted after you heard the word

  383. of truth, the gospel of your salvation, in whom

  384. also having believed, you were sealed with the

  385. Holy Spirit of promise. This is our seal. Hallelujah.

  386. We didn't get the harvest. We didn't have to,

  387. amen, plant and get a harvest of any kind as

  388. the Israelites did. But that was their seal.

  389. But let me tell you, our seal, our seal is a

  390. man that went into a tomb, amen, for three days.

  391. But on the third day, he came out. And it's not

  392. over yet. This is just the beginning. Because

  393. 50 days from now, You're going to be sealed with

  394. the promise, and the promise is the Holy Ghost.

  395. That is our seal today. That's our confirmation.

  396. That is our confirmation, the first fruit, amen,

  397. which was Jesus Christ. And let me say this.

  398. Born -again believers, celebrate the death. The

  399. barrier and the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

  400. This is who we celebrate. This is why Pentecost

  401. is important for us. Yes, it was important in

  402. the time of Israel for the Old Covenant, the

  403. Old Testament. It was beautiful. It was an experience.

  404. But let me tell you, they expected it. They planned

  405. it. And they all gathered and they celebrated

  406. it. But what about us? Hallelujah. What about

  407. the church on that day? Praise God. There was

  408. great fruits. There was a harvest of 120 that

  409. were born again of the water and of the Spirit.

  410. Oh, 120 believers as the first harvest. Praise

  411. be to God. Hallelujah. And let me say this to

  412. somebody. If you're not part of this, you can

  413. jump in any time. You don't have to go back to

  414. the upper room. This is the upper room here right

  415. now. Wherever you are. Lord, if you will call

  416. upon the name of the Lord, he will answer you.

  417. If you open your heart and say, Lord, fill me

  418. with your spirit, he'll fill you with his spirit

  419. because it is a promise to whosoever believeth.

  420. And if you don't have the Holy Ghost today, you

  421. can get it today. If you have not spoken in other

  422. tongues, you can speak in other tongues today.

  423. If you want to feel this fire, you can feel this

  424. fire today. This is the day. Amen. Pity call.

  425. When God wants to fill you with his spirit. Pentecost

  426. is the birthday of the church. It is the day

  427. the church was born. The first chapter of the

  428. book of Acts tells us of Jesus meeting with the

  429. apostles at the Mount of Olives. and telling

  430. them that they were to be his witnesses to all

  431. the world. Why do we need such a spirit? Why

  432. do we need it? to the Old Testament in the Israelites'

  433. time and in that dispensation and under that

  434. old covenant, the world, the people of Canaan

  435. and everywhere, they were envious of the Israelites

  436. because they were able to celebrate things and

  437. have things that they didn't plant, that they

  438. didn't build. God gave them to them. Praise God.

  439. And just like that today, praise God, we have

  440. things that we didn't. We don't merit. I don't

  441. deserve that, God. I don't deserve this, and

  442. I don't deserve that. But God said, I'm going

  443. to keep my promise to you. I'm going to bless

  444. you going in, and I'm going to bless you going

  445. out. Everything you touch will be blessed. Everywhere

  446. you put your foot will be blessed. That's our

  447. promise, amen. And if you believe that, you have

  448. nothing to fear. You have nothing that you lack.

  449. You have everything in him because you have the

  450. seal. You have the foot. of God in your life.

  451. When you have his spirit, you don't need nothing

  452. else. You don't need to go look for nothing else.

  453. When you've got God in your heart, you got it

  454. all. Oh, my God, let me tell you something. Amen.

  455. You stop looking. You stop searching. Oh, you

  456. get a stronger relationship with God as time

  457. goes on, amen, because he's too vast, amen, to

  458. understand in one sit down. Praise God. So we

  459. get a stronger, but the thing is that when you

  460. get the seal, you get the earnest of his spirit.

  461. That means there's not, he doesn't give it to

  462. you in portions. He didn't give you 10 % and

  463. me 20%. No. He didn't give you a portion of who

  464. he is. He gave you the earnest of his spirit

  465. who is God manifesting your spirit and your life.

  466. He became, amen, he became you. You are in him,

  467. him and you. You have his spirit. You can't say

  468. my spirit, the Holy Ghost is in this part of

  469. my body or it's in my hand, it's in my feet.

  470. No, it's all of you. Every little bit of you

  471. is the Holy Ghost. man. So whatever the devil

  472. has formed against you, it's not going to do

  473. no good because greater is he that is in you

  474. than he that is in the world. You have it all.

  475. You don't have to be looking for no more. You've

  476. got Jesus. And when you got the Holy Ghost, you

  477. got it all. Can you just shout and say, I got

  478. it all today. Acts 1 and 8 says, but you shall

  479. receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon

  480. you. And you shall be witnesses to me in Jerusalem

  481. and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of

  482. the earth. Let me tell you, hallelujah, when

  483. you received the Holy Spirit, when you received

  484. the Holy Spirit, if you haven't yet, when you

  485. receive it, and for those of you that have already,

  486. when you received it, you have received power.

  487. As we heard the song say, amen, you have got

  488. power. Not power. Praise God. You need not search

  489. anywhere else. You don't need to be looking nowhere

  490. else for anything. Amen. I know we depend on

  491. certain things in life. Praise God. You depend

  492. on a doctor. Amen. A surgeon and things like

  493. that. That's okay. Praise God. Those are the

  494. things of this life. But let me tell you something.

  495. God is in control of all things. Doctors can

  496. give up on you. Amen. Judges and attorneys can

  497. give up on you. Your friends. can give up on

  498. you. But when you got Jesus in your life, you

  499. have his spirit in your life, you lack nothing.

  500. You have everything that you need. You have the

  501. power to overcome. You have the power to tell

  502. somebody such as I have, I give unto you, get

  503. up and walk. You have the authority over anything.

  504. All opposition that comes against you, you have

  505. that authority. If you have the Holy Ghost, you

  506. need nothing else. When you have the Holy Ghost,

  507. In your life, you can walk. Amen. I'm not telling

  508. anybody to go walk on water, but in a spiritual

  509. sense, yes, we can walk on water, spiritually

  510. speaking, because we can walk above things, things

  511. that, amen, that are impossible for man to do.

  512. We can walk above that. Praise the Lord, somebody.

  513. Hallelujah. God is real. He is alive. He is in

  514. my spirit. Amen. He's in my life just like he

  515. is in yours. Amen. You have nothing to fear because

  516. the spirit of God, his love, casts out fear.

  517. You don't fear nothing. Praise God. It doesn't

  518. matter what report they give you. What report

  519. are you going to believe? You're going to believe

  520. the report of the Lord? What are you going to

  521. believe? Amen. You can get bad news tomorrow.

  522. You can get bad news on your way home today.

  523. But whose report are you going to believe? say,

  524. hey, I'm going to believe the report of the Lord.

  525. He said that he would be with me. He said that

  526. he would guide me through it. He's a lamp unto

  527. my feet. He will order my steps every day. I

  528. believe in God. I believe that he will sustain

  529. me and keep me and lead me, amen, and hold me

  530. so that I can get through all of this in life.

  531. Yes, there's going to be challenges, and they

  532. are, but you have power. You have the Holy Ghost.

  533. It's amazing. You cannot compare the power of

  534. anything. Everybody's talking about nuclear power

  535. today. They're talking about Iran and other places.

  536. Everybody's got nuclear power. I'm not afraid

  537. of nuclear power. Let it happen. Whatever happens,

  538. it happens because to God be the glory. Amen.

  539. To be absent from this body is to be ever present

  540. with the Lord. Amen. So we don't fear death.

  541. We've already overcome the sting of death. Death

  542. has nothing over us. Amen. So all the power in

  543. the world. Man might have power, but God puts

  544. kings. He takes kings down. Amen. God is in control

  545. of all things. I don't fear any regimes in the

  546. world because, amen, there's no higher authority

  547. in this world than the authority of Jesus Christ.

  548. And I have that authority. He said, everything

  549. you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven. Whatever

  550. you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven

  551. because I have that authority in my life. And

  552. you have that authority. that authority too.

  553. Don't fear nothing. No, I've got the Holy Ghost

  554. down in my soul, just like the Bible says. Amen.

  555. And I'm going to live my life every day like

  556. I know and I feel and I'm convinced that I have

  557. his power with me. And that's a power. It's a

  558. power. It's a Holy Ghost power. You cannot compare

  559. it. You cannot buy it. You cannot exchange it.

  560. There's been people that have tried to do that

  561. with no success. You cannot pretend that you

  562. have it either. Praise God. As some even biblical

  563. times try to pretend they have the power, they

  564. have the Holy Ghost. You cannot pretend to have

  565. the Holy Ghost. Amen. You either got it or you

  566. don't. Praise the Lord somebody. Ask your neighbor.

  567. Amen. You got it? Praise God. If you got it,

  568. you're all right. Amen. If you don't got it,

  569. you need to get it. That's it. Amen. It's simply

  570. said. It doesn't take a real deep theologian

  571. to figure that out, man. If your cup is full,

  572. is it running over? What do you got? I know that

  573. what God gives, it runs over, man. It's just

  574. not fill my cup. Yeah, you know, that was a nice

  575. song back in the day, but I want it to overflow.

  576. Because that's his spirit. You can't not confine

  577. yourself. You know, that's the interesting thing

  578. about the Holy Ghost. How can you confine the

  579. Holy Ghost into this body? You can't. You can't.

  580. Amen. You can't say, I got the Holy Ghost. I

  581. got it right here. I'm going to do what I want

  582. with it. I'm going to shelve it for a couple

  583. of days and pull it back out. You can't put it

  584. in the refrigerator to preserve it. Amen. You

  585. can't do that, man. You either got it or you

  586. don't got it. Excuse my grammar, but it's true.

  587. Praise God. But when you get the Holy Ghost,

  588. when you have the Holy Ghost in your life, praise

  589. God, there is nothing that can come. I've been

  590. when I've had much, and I've been where I have

  591. little. I've been where I've had nothing. I've

  592. been when I'm sick. I've been when I'm well.

  593. I've been in different places in life. Amen.

  594. But life is not in control of me or you. Things

  595. that life hands you. Your boss could give you

  596. a pink slip tomorrow. Amen. You thank him for

  597. it. Thank you very much. God's giving me a promotion

  598. now. Praise God. When they give you a pink slip,

  599. you can say thank you for the promotion. Praise

  600. God. Because it is a promotion because God is

  601. the rewarder of those that diligently seek him.

  602. And if you're seeking God, he's going to reward

  603. you. Amen. And don't worry what man does to you.

  604. Amen. God will deal with all of that. You know,

  605. don't take it out on them. They just don't know

  606. any better. Praise God. But praise be to God.

  607. God is good, isn't he? How many of you experience

  608. the goodness of the Lord every day? I experience

  609. it every day. Praise God. He also tells them

  610. that they are to wait in Jerusalem. He says,

  611. wait until they receive the power from on high.

  612. Then he ascended out of their sight. Wow. Just

  613. because the Lord is not seen, it doesn't mean

  614. that he's not there. Praise the Lord. I know

  615. that went way over your head, right? That's deep.

  616. Tell somebody, that was deep, man. But the fact

  617. is, amen. He sometimes disappears and you wonder,

  618. where is he? Well, I'm sure the disciples are

  619. wondering the same. Oh, how can this be? Amen.

  620. But in Luke 24, 49, it says, Behold, I send the

  621. promise of my Father upon you, but tarry in the

  622. city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power

  623. from on high. Wow. It was on this day, Pentecost.

  624. That the Holy Ghost was poured out upon 120 followers

  625. of Christ. It could have been 121. I don't know.

  626. But 120 were there. Praise God. Thank God that

  627. they were there. Who were gathered in that upper

  628. room in Jerusalem. It was on this day that the

  629. church was born in the blaze of glory. Before

  630. Pentecost, the disciples were hiding from...

  631. Because of public fear, they were afraid, they

  632. were hiding. Peter didn't want to be acknowledged

  633. as a follower of Christ. You know, bold Peter,

  634. man. I mean, he was hiding. He says, you talk

  635. like them. Oh, no, no, no, no, not us. You know,

  636. and everybody was living a life of fear. But

  637. after Pentecost, they became bold and miraculously

  638. empowered. Power to carry out the mission of

  639. God. When God gives us power, it's not just so

  640. that we can walk around with our shoulders up

  641. and say, you know, I got power. No. It was because

  642. God has a mission for us. Praise God, somebody.

  643. Something happened to the disciples that set

  644. them on fire for Jesus. To such a degree, the

  645. Bible says in Acts 17, 16, it says, here are

  646. those who are turning the world upside down.

  647. Put the next scripture, brother. Thank you. Look

  648. at that. How many want to turn the world upside

  649. down? And I don't mean literally, but I mean

  650. spiritually. We got something. We have the answer.

  651. to things that the world can only dream about.

  652. We have a remedy. We have a plan. We have a something,

  653. a how it can be done. Praise God. The upper room

  654. experience then can happen to anyone and set

  655. on fire your life with the Holy Ghost. If you

  656. today are looking for something that is different

  657. from what the world has to offer, We offer you,

  658. Jesus, the Holy Ghost. It's essential to evangelize

  659. the world. We need the Holy Ghost to be evangelist

  660. in this world. Because of the Holy Ghost, we

  661. can reach our world with the gospel of salvation.

  662. How I know this is true. I know it is true because

  663. I experienced it when I wanted to evangelize

  664. and speak to people about God. I had to get beside

  665. myself. I had to allow the Holy Ghost to take

  666. control of my life and my attitudes and cast

  667. out the spirit of fear and stand up for Jesus.

  668. And, you know, like a lady, when I was testifying

  669. to people at work many years ago, I was testifying

  670. and winning people to the Lord. And this lady

  671. from out of nowhere, way out. I mean, she must

  672. have been like maybe. 50 feet away or something

  673. from way over there, she yells out, I think Joe's

  674. gone crazy. And I turn, why? And then everybody's

  675. looking at me like, you don't look crazy. Yeah,

  676. crazy because I was winning people to the Lord.

  677. I was turning my workplace upside down with the

  678. power of the Holy Ghost. Praise be to God. There

  679. was this one guy. He kind of reminded me of you,

  680. Brother Kong. He was a Korean guy. He was Korean,

  681. but he was a black belt, brother. And I don't

  682. know if you're black belt, but he was black belt.

  683. And, man, he, I was kind of like, you know, I'd

  684. get out of his way. He would be coming down the

  685. hall and everybody would, you know, like step

  686. out of the way. And here comes that. And one

  687. time, one time I was coming around a corner and

  688. he was coming the other way. And I came around

  689. the corner. Oh, my God. It's a good thing he's

  690. fast because he put, I mean, he got in a stance.

  691. It's reaction, you know. He got a reaction. He

  692. almost let me have it. Whoa, whoa, no, no, man.

  693. You know, like, easy, man. You know, I was just

  694. coming around the corner. Oh, man, man. He almost

  695. took you down. I says, I know. You know, and

  696. then I said within myself, I'm going to win him

  697. to the Lord. We'll see who takes who down here.

  698. A few months later, we were baptizing him in

  699. Jesus' name. Praise God. And not only him, but

  700. his fiancée that he married, and we baptized

  701. her too, and we baptized his dad that we had

  702. to carry up the stairs to the baptismal. Amen.

  703. We got a lot of people right there, man, just

  704. from that black belt. Don't you ever throw that

  705. black belt move on me, man, because I got the

  706. Holy Ghost. I'll take you down in Jesus' name.

  707. Amen. And God, thank God, man, I won that soul

  708. for him. But, you know, we don't need to fear

  709. nothing. We don't need to fear anything. Praise

  710. God. God is good, isn't he? I'm going to close

  711. with this. I know you want me to go on until

  712. tomorrow, but I got to cut it short here. I know

  713. this is a holiday, and you're all probably got

  714. something going on in the grill, and you're waiting

  715. to flip it. I don't know. The Comforter. John

  716. 14 and 16, it says. And I will pray the Father,

  717. and he shall give you another comforter. Praise

  718. God. You know, when you think that you've been

  719. comforted, you ain't felt nothing until the Lord

  720. comforts you. That's a comparison, you know.

  721. We find comfort in things, you know, and we find

  722. comfort in life. People are in comfort because

  723. they have money, you know. Oh, man, as long as

  724. I got this much money in the bank, I feel pretty

  725. good. Or as long as my health is real good and

  726. I get a good report, they're comforted. But you

  727. know what? Whatever your comfort is, think of

  728. your best comfort in life. You know, if you're

  729. driving a Maserati or something, that's comfort,

  730. right? For you car lovers or whatever, you know,

  731. but a big house, you know, with 20 bedrooms and

  732. 10 bathrooms that you're going to have to clean

  733. and, you know, and all that. You know, comfort

  734. is, you know, certain things in life. And, I

  735. mean, humanistically, yeah, you probably have

  736. a place that you would consider a place of comfort.

  737. But he said, I shall give you another comforter,

  738. something. Greater than you can ever imagine.

  739. That he may abide with you forever. This comfort

  740. you will never lose. You can lose all your money.

  741. You can lose that nice car. You can lose that

  742. relationship. You can lose many things such as

  743. health and what not in life. But the comforter

  744. that the Lord gives you will abide with you forever.

  745. My God, when you have his spirit, it's forever.

  746. It's not for a season. It's not when you need

  747. it the most. No, it's forever. Even the spirit

  748. of truth, he says, whom the world cannot receive.

  749. They can't get it. Because it seeth him not.

  750. Who? The Lord Jesus. They don't see him. Neither

  751. knoweth him, but ye know him. Ask your neighbor,

  752. do you know him? Do you know him? Because if

  753. you know him, you know of the creator, the comforter.

  754. for he dwelleth with you and shall be in you.

  755. It will not leave you comfortless. I will come

  756. to you. This is the promise. This is the promise

  757. that we receive from him, that comforter, that

  758. spirit. That upper room experience could be right

  759. here today. It could be in your living room.

  760. My wife and I were counseling a young couple

  761. that is dear friends of ours when we were down

  762. there in Southern California. And we were encouraging

  763. them on their home groups. And they have a nice

  764. home group. I think how many souls did they,

  765. I think they had how many souls? Like 24 souls

  766. in their home group. 24 souls. He says they only

  767. have, he only has one Timothy. And I met with

  768. him. We had dinner with his Timothy and another

  769. day. And then we were over there in their house

  770. on a certain day. He says, that's my Timothy.

  771. It's just him and I. And our wives, he says,

  772. but we got 24 souls that we're witnessing to.

  773. And we prayed for him and the souls that he has.

  774. And we prayed that he have the boldness, the

  775. boldness to speak. And we prayed, I said, God

  776. give him boldness. He was so encouraged. He was

  777. so encouraged because I told him. God, one of

  778. those visitors, those friends that you have,

  779. one of them is going to get the Holy Ghost in

  780. your home group. He's going to get the Holy Ghost.

  781. And he goes, oh, my God, right here. It says

  782. right here in your home. It says my wife and

  783. I have been through that. We've had people receive

  784. the Holy Ghost in our home while giving them

  785. a Bible study. It says when they get the Holy

  786. Ghost. man, it's like a fire that takes off.

  787. Everybody starts getting the Holy Ghost. People

  788. getting the Holy Ghost. And you can have that

  789. breakthrough. And there's nothing like when somebody

  790. gets the Holy Ghost. Nothing like it. It's an

  791. amazing experience. Amazing experience. And I

  792. don't know if you've ever prayed with somebody

  793. that got the Holy Ghost, but I have many times.

  794. It's an amazing experience for somebody to experience

  795. it for the first time. My goodness. It's special.

  796. You can just feel it. Something miraculous that

  797. happens. That's the comforter. That's what it's

  798. all about. And that's what Pentecost was. For

  799. the 120. But it was. God's plan from the beginning,

  800. first the Passover, then Pentecost at Mount Sinai.

  801. And that's our experience. The sacrifice, 50

  802. days later, Pentecost in the upper room. That's

  803. for all of us today. Praise God.
