-
It has indeed been a real pleasure to be with
-
you. And as is my tradition a little bit, I have
-
brought my family with me digitally. There's
-
my precious Gordon. And yeah, we are seriously
-
talking. And I think the way we'll do it is mostly
-
I'll bring my husband on vacation for two weeks,
-
maybe come for a holiday, come do some ministry
-
and then spend some time. But that's our 25th
-
wedding anniversary. And that was 18 months ago
-
now. That's my boy David, he's my 20 year old
-
and he's doing maths and business study at university.
-
Then that's my daughter Nicola, married to Tim
-
Douglas and they have just emigrated to Australia
-
about three weeks ago where they've just become
-
the pastors of a satellite church out of Hillsong,
-
Sydney. And so she's already, they're 25 and
-
23 now and got their first church. So that's
-
my terrible three. But they haven't given me
-
a grandchild yet, so I've got the next best thing.
-
Beautiful chocolate puppy who's growing up fast.
-
And if you listened to the tape last night, you'll
-
know how to get fat and break yolks. And all
-
good Christian households should train their
-
dogs. I think it's so funny. So there you go.
-
But I started last night to look at Isaiah 58.
-
And in each service, in many ways, I want to
-
carry on the theme, but look at different mirror
-
images of what I believe God is saying from this
-
passage. And I most probably focused on verses
-
6 and 7 last night, doing them as an overview
-
of this chapter. And this morning, I want to
-
actually focus on verses eight onwards and referring
-
back. And maybe if you get the series, you get
-
three for the price of one or whatever. But I
-
just believe that this chapter somehow, as I've
-
just read it in the Northwest, I've just kept
-
feeling God saying this is a chapter that he
-
wants to write in history. And he wants to begin
-
to out... Write this chapter with your lives
-
and especially coming up July the 4th. I know
-
you do a lot in the community and there's that
-
interface. Well, why do we do these things sometimes?
-
Why? What is it all about? But I believe God
-
is just doing something in these days to put
-
the church footprint back in the community. And
-
it's that time of linking church, commerce and
-
community together so that the power of God can
-
flow in a greater dimension and capacity. I was
-
thinking about July the 4th and yes, the British
-
are coming and the British are going, but we
-
did leave you red, white and blue. And I think,
-
you know, July the 4th wouldn't look very good
-
without red, white and blue. If you don't like
-
it, we'll take it back. It's funny, I was just
-
thinking about that. It's really interesting,
-
actually. As I look across the nations, the red,
-
white, and blue nations, and God spoke to me,
-
actually, a little while ago and said, watch
-
out for the red, white, and blue nations. I'm
-
doing something. Norway is one. Italy is one.
-
France is one. America. And it's just there's
-
something, I believe, of almost the balance.
-
Many of these red, white, and blue nations, they're
-
almost like in the balance. Which way are you
-
going to go? Which way are you going to go? Who
-
are you going to seek? And actually, the red,
-
white, and blue, I don't know if you know, but
-
it was done very biblically, prophetically, way
-
back before America picked it up. You know, Norway,
-
actually, picked up red, white, and blue. And
-
it really was given to them by the bishop of
-
Oslo, working with the government. And God gave
-
them the colors red, white, and blue. Red to
-
be the blood of Jesus Christ. White to be the
-
purity of the bride of Christ. And blue to be
-
the color of revelation in heaven touching earth.
-
And so they, you know, the very bishop as they
-
sat down to design their flag were given those
-
colors prophetically. And so maybe, you know,
-
there is something more in it than sometimes
-
we realize. So Father, we just pray that you'll
-
bless the word as we come to study this word
-
this morning. And we pray that you will give
-
us. Your view, your pattern, your design of what
-
you want to do in these days. Because we do believe
-
there is a breakthrough season coming. And we
-
thank you for it. And everybody said, Amen. And
-
so I want to actually read from verse 8 today.
-
Then your light will break forth like the dawn.
-
And your healing will quickly appear. And then
-
your righteousness will go before you and the
-
glory of the Lord will be your rear guard. Then
-
you will call and the Lord will answer and you
-
will cry for help and he will say, here I am.
-
If you do away with the yoke of oppression and
-
with the pointing finger in malicious talk, and
-
if you spend yourselves on behalf of the hungry
-
and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then
-
your light will rise in the darkness and your
-
night will become like the noon day. So I'm going
-
to ask God to just reveal some of this. Last
-
night, I picked up very much the whole, the chains
-
of oppression and how God breaks chains of injustice,
-
how he unties yokes that come upon us and how
-
he releases oppressive atmospheres. But he does
-
the spiritual work, but he also asks us to cooperate
-
with him to do the practical work of verse seven.
-
He says, come on, share your food with the hungry,
-
provide shelter. And I finished off really by
-
saying, and don't turn away from your own flesh
-
and blood. And how often in our first world nations,
-
both Britain and America, we've been missionary
-
sending nations, we've been generous, we've been
-
very humanitarian in supporting the poor and
-
needy of the third world nations. But often we
-
turn away from our own flesh and blood in our
-
own streets. And we need a fresh revelation of
-
how do we turn towards our own and provide practical
-
help and care for them, as well as the spiritual
-
and the natural coming together. How does heaven
-
touch earth and then earth touch heaven? How
-
do we create those lightning conductors for the
-
power of God to break through in our communities
-
and our parts of geography? And so we looked
-
at this chapter and how from verse two to verse
-
five, God is wrestling with this people saying,
-
you think you can tick a lot of boxes and you're
-
doing well, but I've got issue with even your
-
your fasting and your sacrifice. You think you're
-
a spiritual good people making sacrifice, fasting
-
and praying, but actually so much of your motivation
-
is self -motivated. Because if God doesn't turn
-
up when you want in the way you want, your fasting
-
and seeking, which appears to put God first,
-
actually ends in an attitude of fighting God
-
and accusing him. And so you say, look, God,
-
we're doing all this for you. Where are you when
-
we need you? You know, your attitude is very
-
quickly, God, I've humbled myself. God, I prayed,
-
but you don't keep your side of the bargain.
-
And God says, you know what? That isn't the attitude
-
that draws the heart of God. And he wants us
-
to have a whole yieldedness that doesn't demand
-
of God, but is far more complicit towards him.
-
And so that's the beginning of it. And then we
-
looked at breaking the chains of injustice and
-
beginning to look at our social responsibility.
-
And then we come to verse eight. It says, then,
-
in other words. Because of those changes of our
-
heart and the changes of our behavior, it then
-
triggers something in the heavens which gives
-
a season of release. And I spoke last night and
-
again today, I just feel that there is a breakthrough
-
that God wants to give in the West Coast of America.
-
I've most probably traveled in and out of the
-
States very regularly over the last 10 years.
-
My parents are actually American citizens. They
-
changed their nationality in 1990. And so my
-
parents live in Texas. My brother, his wife,
-
and three kids also live in Texas. But I've never
-
really felt a great sense of call spiritually
-
to the south except to go home but i've always
-
felt this connection to the west which is more
-
inconvenient it's much longer flight greater
-
time shift and everyone says why don't you go
-
to you know old england new england all that
-
i said i don't know i'm west coast girl I feel
-
there's something in the West Coast that I want
-
to just break through. There's something here
-
of a breakthrough anointing. I believe in this
-
geography. There's something of the mandate of
-
God. Prophetically, the pioneer forerunner spirit
-
is in this land, both in the natural and I believe
-
in the spiritual. And so there needs to be the
-
then. It will break through. How many of you
-
want that then? Then, and I believe in the spirit,
-
then your light will break forth like the dawn.
-
And I have such a sense that there's that pressing
-
urgency for the then of God. And so God is refining
-
motivations, refining activities, refining what
-
we're doing and saying, come on, it is time to
-
work both in the spiritual and in the natural
-
so that we can live in the then of God. Then
-
your light will break forth like the dawn and
-
your healing will quickly appear. Then your righteousness
-
will go before you and the glory of God will
-
be your rear guard. And you see, when we look
-
at Isaiah 58, it's that transitional chapter
-
in the prophetic flow of Isaiah. If you read
-
back about Isaiah 35, the book suddenly takes
-
a step up. The first chapters of Isaiah, much
-
more about sin, about nations and all sorts of
-
stuff. And just giving a general overview of
-
the spiritual state of nations. And you get to
-
Isaiah 35 and suddenly the prophet Isaiah begins
-
to say, but there's something going to break
-
forth. This wilderness is going to blossom like
-
a rose. rose and the lame will leap. A highway
-
of our God will be made there. Then you come
-
to Isaiah 40. Comfort, comfort my people. Prepare
-
a highway for our God. Again, let that prophetic
-
sound cry out. Out in the wilderness, prepare
-
a way from our God. Every valley will be made
-
low. Every mountain will be lifted up. Verse
-
five. And the glory of the Lord will be revealed.
-
And all mankind can see it. That's verse 40.
-
And then you transition, you know, 42. This is
-
my servant, the one that I've called. You know,
-
I'll be with you when you go through the fire,
-
et cetera, et cetera. And you get to Isaiah 49.
-
And then there's that incredible scripture from
-
about verse 20 on about the restoring of God.
-
And it says, you know, I looked around me and
-
I said, where did these come from? When I was
-
barren, you enlarged me. And now they will say,
-
this place is too small. You know that scripture,
-
Isaiah 40. Then we come on to 55. Ho, everyone
-
that's thirsty. 54, which is sing, O barren one.
-
Enlarge the place of your tent. And so it goes
-
on. And then you feel the crescendo and suddenly
-
it's 58, which says, whoa. If, if, if, if, then,
-
if, if, if, then. It's a transition. It's like
-
the prophet is seeing something so incredible
-
that it's going to break forth and suddenly there's
-
a little pause button. on a minute. Don't just
-
think this is for granted. We've got to do some
-
ifs and thens, ifs and thens. And then we're
-
back into Isaiah 60. Arise, shine, for the light
-
has come, the glory of the Lord. Isaiah 61, for
-
the spirit of the sovereign Lord is upon me,
-
because he has anointed me. Isaiah 62, come on,
-
you're no longer called deserted or desolate,
-
but now Hepzibah, etc. I mean, you don't need
-
the whole of Isaiah, but you get the picture.
-
And you see, there's such a cry. I am this prophet.
-
I want to see breakthrough. I want to see this
-
desert barren place. Break forth. But Isaiah
-
58 is that transition. And it's almost like in
-
this incredible flow, he just stops himself and
-
says, I so want this to happen for you. But if,
-
if, if, then, then, then. And that's why I believe
-
it's so important for Oregon. Because I believe
-
many of those Isaiah scriptures, arise, shine,
-
have been prophetic words. But there's an if
-
in there. There's a then. And so God is saying,
-
come on, then if you begin to get hold of the
-
understanding of the deliverance anointing that
-
really breaks through, if you begin to understand
-
the generosity to the poor and needy, the practical
-
expression of helping little people look better,
-
practically, not just spiritually, then something's
-
going to break through. And this light that will
-
arise and shine is greater than even that dawn.
-
When it begins, how many know when dawn begins,
-
you can't push it back. There's no backwards
-
button. Only Joshua made working with God made
-
it go back. But we know once the dawn is pressed,
-
we get breakthrough. It comes to the zenith.
-
It comes to the full noon day sun. Then your
-
light will begin that increase. And the wonderful
-
thing about light is, and my background is, I'm
-
a scientist, the wonderful thing about light
-
is it always overcomes darkness. It's made that
-
way. Light overcomes darkness. And I believe
-
there's such a battle in this northwest area
-
against the darkness of occultic power and the
-
darkness of sexual perversion. But when we get
-
certain pieces in place, then this light will
-
break forth as the dawn. And it cannot be stopped.
-
It will come to the zenith, the noonday sun.
-
Light always overcomes darkness. And so I believe
-
that God wants to put a new, I don't know, an
-
understanding of faith that when we're in the
-
right place at the right time, the right thing
-
cannot but help but happen. Light always overcomes
-
darkness. And so I believe there's a consistency
-
that God wants to put in us in doing the right
-
thing. And so often the intimidation of the devil
-
stops us just consistently doing right. And we
-
begin to think, well, what is the purpose? But
-
you see, it's when the darkness is dark that
-
then the light begins to shine. Do you get what
-
I mean? It's nighttime that comes into day. And
-
I believe that there are many dreams and promises
-
that have gone through that nighttime. But then
-
if we hold fast and do not give up, the light
-
will break through. And it's very easy to get
-
distracted by the darkness, but we need to get
-
focused on the light that will break through.
-
If we turn all the lights off in here, it will
-
be dark because there's not much natural light.
-
It will be pitch black. Now the instinct won't
-
be, ushers, get rid of this darkness. The instinct
-
will be, hit the lights. And if it's still not
-
enough light, the instinct will be, find more
-
lights. Increase the number of lights. And so
-
when we live in a dark place, yes, we do need
-
to have that spiritual discernment that can discern
-
the darkness that's about us. But if we get so
-
caught up in the darkness and we forget the light
-
that will break forth, I think we get overwhelmed.
-
And I believe that God wants you to begin to
-
focus on the light that will break forth. There
-
is a light that's going to break forth. And as
-
we do what's right, as we do fast, as we do see
-
those chains break, as we do give into born needy.
-
You see, July the 4th is not just doing the cute
-
thing to be in church. Actually, it's spiritual
-
activity. How many of you know that? It is actually
-
light going forth. Every time you give something
-
away, whatever is of faith. Be it unto you. I
-
mean, if you're just chucking stuff away, then
-
that's all you're doing. You're chucking stuff
-
away. But if you give with faith, you're putting
-
spiritual things. You know, every candy you give
-
out, give it with faith. Sow it as seed. If you're
-
just chucking it out the bucket, that's all you're
-
doing. But come on, we can do more than that
-
because then the light's going to break forth.
-
We put a spiritual and a practical dimension
-
to everything we do. Then it has power to break
-
darkness in Jesus' name. Light shines forth.
-
Then your light will shine forth as the dawn
-
and your healing will quickly appear. I really
-
do believe that there is a power for healing
-
to break through. Even last year when we just
-
prophesied and began to command life and babies
-
to be born, we saw a breakout of healing. And
-
I believe that's the first. I'd say the next
-
one is cancer. This year, that's what I had in
-
me. I thought, now it's time to hit the cancer.
-
It's time to hit the C button. That cancer word
-
has become such a curse. We just hear, you know,
-
in fact, some people will only call it the C
-
word because we've almost become superstitious
-
about it. But we've got to break that yoke of
-
cancer. We've got to see that healing will quickly
-
appear and we've got to put our foot on it and
-
not run away from it. We've got to step in, not
-
step away. And we've got to see that our God
-
is well able to break that wretched curse of
-
cancer. And then your righteousness will go before
-
you. And the glory of the Lord will be your rear
-
guard. Then, then, then. What are all the thens
-
about? Because you're positioning yourself with
-
right attitudes, which we spoke about last night.
-
But righteousness, what is righteousness? Again,
-
we make it such a religious word. Your righteousness
-
will go before you. Then the glory can come behind
-
you. So what is the righteousness? Well, the
-
righteousness is a right standing, a right positioning
-
in the presence of God. It is a consistency,
-
I believe, of walking your life out right. And
-
sometimes righteousness is not not doing things.
-
It is making a positive decision to do things.
-
Do you get what I mean? And if you go back, righteousness
-
is the absence of sin. So what is sin? Sin is
-
not just a religious word. Sin was used, if you
-
go back to the everyday Hebrews and Greek sort
-
of classic communities, all those thousands of
-
years ago, before the Bible was written, every
-
word that's in our Bible was used every day.
-
Do you get what I'm saying? And so it's a bit
-
like computers today, we know. Well, the sin
-
word was not just used in church. The sin word
-
was an everyday word, and it was used mainly
-
in two dimensions. The word sin was used by accountants.
-
It was used as an accounting word, and it literally
-
meant to go into the red, really. Every time
-
you went into the red, your bank manager would
-
say to you, excuse me, Pastor Ron, your account
-
has just sinned. You know, you've gone negative.
-
And so anytime you are negative, you are in sin.
-
So I'm not going to ask you how many of you are
-
sinners today. But you see, it was an everyday
-
accounting word. It meant anytime you go into
-
debit, anytime you go beneath the nought line,
-
anytime you are in debt. That's why it calls
-
about, he breaks the debt and releases you from
-
the debtor in older translations. How many have
-
read that? Because you see, the sin word just
-
meant to go into the red, to be below the line.
-
So that was the first thing. And that is most
-
probably the interpretation of sin we're more
-
familiar with. I came up negative. I didn't do
-
so well. I've got a demerit rather than a credit.
-
I missed the mark. You know, I'm not very good.
-
The other. definition of sin is what I've just
-
said, to miss the mark. And it was actually used
-
every day as an archery word. And so if you're
-
into bows and arrows, then maybe we take today's
-
sort of picture of me more darts, you know, a
-
dartboard and darts. And so if you would state,
-
I'm going to hit a bullseye and you take back
-
your dart and you throw it. And instead of a
-
bullseye, you hit a double 20. You have just
-
sinned. That dart has sinned because it missed
-
the mark for which it was destined. And so whenever
-
an archer pulled an arrow and shot the arrow,
-
the cry would come back, sinned or hit. And you
-
see, so many of us, our lives are sinning because
-
we're not really letting our life be thrust by
-
the flight feathers of the Spirit of God. We're
-
not hitting the bullseye of the destiny that
-
God's called us to. And so if we want our righteousness
-
to appear, we've got to be right standing in
-
the presence of God in both dimensions without
-
sin. And so the sin is dealing with the negative
-
and the debit. We've got to deal with everything
-
when we know we're coming below the line, below
-
the par. But also we've got to deal with everything
-
where we're not doing totally what we know we're
-
made to do. Then you see our righteousness will
-
go up in front of us. And we've got to deal with
-
everything that withholds from that real cry
-
and purpose of God. And if you want your righteousness
-
to go up in front of you, then you find something
-
else comes behind you. And the rear guard is
-
going to be the glory of God. Isn't that amazing?
-
So you see, if you step out on that perfect path
-
of righteousness, isn't that Psalm 23? I think
-
I taught that. And he, you know, he'll make paths
-
of... righteousness for his name's sake. And
-
so every one of you have got a path of righteousness.
-
It's not just the path that's absence for sin,
-
but it's a path that leads you to perfectly fulfill
-
the destiny of who you are. So that when you
-
step into heaven, God the Father can look at
-
you and say, wow, well done, my son. You have
-
lived every dimension. Your bullseye, you hit
-
the mark. Do you get what I'm saying? And so
-
you see, there is a righteousness that is different.
-
Of course, there's the basic things don't sin,
-
the 10 commandments, thou shalt not. And if we
-
live with those things, then we're in sin. But
-
there's other areas. How many of you know that
-
something for you is a sin and for something
-
for someone else isn't a sin? You see, that's
-
how it works because every single one of us are
-
uniquely destined and planned. And if I want
-
to hit the bullseye of God, for me at that time,
-
God might be saying no chocolate, or God might
-
be saying no TV, or God might be saying no this,
-
this, this. And that becomes a sin for me because
-
it's a distraction from the bullseye of God for
-
me at that time and season of my life. And how
-
many of you know that at other times, you know
-
you're perfectly free to do it? So there's no
-
rules, but there are principles where we walk
-
hearing the sound of God so that we are always
-
hitting the bullseye. Then our righteousness
-
leads us. And when we're walking like that, something
-
else is following us. The rear guard of his glory.
-
Because guess what? God always blesses what he
-
orders. And so when we are walking in the perfect
-
alignment of the will of God, God can't help
-
but be the presence behind you. Again, Psalm
-
23. Even though I walk through the valley of
-
the shadow of death, I fear no evil for thou
-
art with me and your rod and staff, they comfort
-
me. You see, how many of you know you've got
-
to walk into death situations? You've got to
-
walk into some ugly places. Maybe your marriage
-
feels ugly. Maybe there's family relationships
-
that are just not the best. Maybe your work situation
-
is just fretful. And you've got to walk, not
-
away, you've got to walk through. Because you
-
know that this is your time and place for this
-
season. God hasn't always promised that the bullseye
-
of God always is in nice places. For even Jesus,
-
he saw the cross, but he knew that was his bullseye.
-
And so he says, I fixed my eyes for the joy that
-
was set before me because I knew I had to hit
-
it. And so even though I walk through, not walk
-
away, walk through the valley of the shadow of
-
death, I fear no evil. For right in the middle
-
of this... Conflict zone. You have set a table
-
in the presence of all my enemies and opposition.
-
And you walk through that season of opposition
-
and you say, surely what? Goodness is now following
-
me and mercy. Because you changed an atmosphere.
-
Do you get what I'm saying? You just changed
-
the atmosphere. You walked into a valley of death,
-
but you've left behind you goodness and mercy.
-
And this is exactly what Isaiah 58 is saying.
-
Come on church, get a revelation. As you begin
-
to break the chains of justice and oppression,
-
as you begin to practically minister to the practical
-
needs of the hungry, poor and needy, then light
-
begins to break and the glory of the Lord rises
-
upon you. Healing begins to come forth. And as
-
you are rightly designated to the perfect, destiny
-
and function of your life then a whole new level
-
of the glory of God is going to be your rear
-
guard and everywhere you walk out suddenly God
-
is behind all you do and so when you walk out
-
of a place people are just going to see the presence
-
of the manifest glory of God residing and hanging
-
where you've just been And I believe that that
-
is the atmospheric change that God wants to bring
-
in these days. And then it says, And the Lord
-
will answer. You will cry for help and he will
-
say, here I am. And so the breakthrough is happening
-
at both dimensions. It's happening vertically
-
towards God. Suddenly heaven draws nearer, earth
-
draws nearer. And you just know that when you
-
begin praying, suddenly breakthrough is happening.
-
But when you're speaking, you're also seeing
-
healings happening, light into the dark places,
-
the glory and the presence of God in places which
-
had just been conflicting and difficult. So you
-
get the vertical. And the horizontal breakthrough.
-
And then what's so fascinating is you can feel
-
Isaiah's back on the roll. Now the glory is going
-
to come through, etc. And then he goes, oh, oh,
-
if, if. Can you see? This is such a transition.
-
So we come back to verse 9. But if you do away
-
with the yoke of oppression. If you do away with
-
the pointing finger and malicious talk. If you
-
spend yourself on behalf of the hungry. If you
-
satisfy the needs of the oppressed. Then you're
-
light. So twice in this chapter, he's like, you
-
could feel the prophetic urgency wanting to say,
-
come on, Northwest, it's breakthrough. But if,
-
if, if, oh, it's breakthrough. Oh, no, I've still
-
got to underline. If, if, if, if. If you do away
-
with the yoke of oppression. So I looked at this
-
yoke of oppression. And interestingly, it's different.
-
from the set the oppressed free at the end of
-
verse 6. There, setting the oppressed free is
-
much more about demonic atmospheres. It's the
-
oppressive atmospheres. But this yoke of oppression,
-
when you look at it and look at other translations,
-
it's to do with the oppression that we as people
-
exert over others. It's mainly the yoke of oppression.
-
Let me just read here. This is not the enemy's
-
oppressive spirit, but this is the oppressive
-
atmosphere felt by injustice. And it literally
-
is unreasonable expectation of authority and
-
powers that can bring abuse or difficulty. And
-
so God's saying, I want to give you such a breakthrough
-
of glory and breakthrough, but you must get off
-
that yoke of oppression. Because how many know,
-
if we want to be those that carry the signs and
-
wonders of God, if that power goes to our head,
-
we are dangerous people. And so it's like the
-
prophet says, oh, God wants to put such glory
-
on, but you must deal with every yoke of oppression.
-
We must deal with leadership that begins to lord
-
over rather than serve. And we must make sure
-
that our authority doesn't become abusive, but
-
rather serving. And you need to do away with
-
the yoke of oppressive leadership or oppressive
-
government. It's got much more that sound. It's
-
that sort of yoke. It's the picture of the slave
-
drivers, the masters, you know, where we just
-
master people and say, you will do it. I'm the
-
boss. And all of us have been in those environments
-
where suddenly when the breakthrough of God comes,
-
we begin to think the power belongs to us. It
-
says you've got to deal with that attitude and
-
that propensity or that sort of weakness that
-
goes towards. As soon as power comes, we want
-
to own it. We've got to deal with it. And then
-
the other thing it says, you've got to do away
-
with the pointing finger and the malicious talking.
-
And how many of you know, when God begins to
-
move, how many have discovered he usually doesn't
-
do it our way? And usually he does it the way
-
you hate most. You watch God move and you think,
-
well, I could handle it as long as it's not like
-
that. And I love the way God makes sure it is
-
like that. And so you see, as this glory begins
-
to break full, as this light of the dawn begins
-
to break full, again the prophet says, now, whoa,
-
whoa, whoa. You must deal with these ifs if you
-
really want to see the full acceleration. And
-
God spoke to me a while ago and he said this.
-
He said, gossip. And I've forgotten the other
-
one. Are luxuries that the church cannot afford.
-
Competition. Luxury. The spirit of gossip and
-
competition are luxuries that the church can
-
no longer afford. That's quite profound. I didn't
-
think of it. That's what I can say. Gossip and
-
competition are luxuries that the church can
-
no longer afford. And all of us, if we're honest,
-
how many of you know you've got a pointing finger
-
inside you? There are times you watch something
-
and you could go, that, I'm not sure I like.
-
And every time that pointing finger comes out,
-
we've got to really deal with that cynicism,
-
that nasty thing. Because how many know, yes,
-
the tongue, Proverbs 18, verse 21, has the power
-
of life or death. And how many of us want to
-
kill the move of God? We don't want it. But you
-
see, what a responsibility that that pointing
-
figure and malicious talking has the power of
-
death and destruction. Do you agree with me?
-
And so the prophets begin to say, now come on,
-
if, if, if, you must do away. These are luxuries
-
the church can't afford. But you see, in our
-
environment, in our humanistic, secular way of
-
thinking, we're constantly told we have the right
-
to think and give our opinion. You know, the
-
Bible doesn't agree. The Bible actually doesn't
-
agree that we have a right to our opinions and
-
ways of thinking. The Bible says, no, my ways
-
are never going to be your ways. My thoughts
-
are above your thoughts. Get used to it and get
-
in line. And so are we really going to see this
-
breakthrough? We've got to deal with that, almost
-
our education of the first world that just says,
-
well, excuse me. If you will do away with a pointing
-
finger in the malicious talk. And then there's
-
the other if comes back. If you will satisfy,
-
spend yourselves on behalf of the hungry and
-
satisfy the needs of oppressed. Don't you find
-
it interesting how all the time the spiritual
-
and very practical, spiritual and very practical,
-
if, if, if, if. And then we come right back round
-
in a circle. Then your light will rise in the
-
darkness. And your night will become like the
-
noonday. You've accelerated from dawn now to
-
the breakthrough of noonday. And I just feel
-
that God is wrestling with the Northwest. Come
-
on, Northwest, you can do bigger. I've got such
-
a destiny for you to break through. I've got
-
such a purpose of breakthrough anointing, such
-
a desire to see the light of the glory of God,
-
of healing signs and wonders. But we really need
-
to do with some of the attitudes of the ifs,
-
ifs, ifs. And how many know it's a price we've
-
got to pay. We've really got to let God deal.
-
with that. And then it goes into verse 11. It
-
says, for the Lord will guide you always. He
-
will satisfy your needs in a sun -scorched land.
-
He will strengthen your frame. You will be like
-
a well -watered garden, like a spring whose waters
-
never fail. I remember as I've traveled into
-
the Northwest, nearly everyone says, well, this
-
is the graveyard. This is a place where it's
-
hard to do church, really hard to get the flow
-
of the Spirit. It's hard to really feel the water
-
consistently. You feel it in your head. It's
-
difficult. It's at your face. But you see, if,
-
if, if, if, if we can tick certain boxes, then,
-
then, then, then, then, then, then. Then we will
-
actually be in a place where we can just know
-
the guidance of God. Isn't that amazing? Verse
-
11, guidance. So many people say, just tell me
-
what to do. Rachel, you're a prophet. What should
-
I do? No, I believe that there's going to be
-
such a breakthrough of the heavens that we will
-
know because God will be speaking so clearly.
-
He will guide you. You will absolutely know you're
-
in the right place at the right time and what
-
to do. You will know the ear of God and know
-
his voice in your ear. He will strengthen your
-
frame. That's healing. Again, the healing thing.
-
He will provide for you. He'll satisfy your needs
-
in a Sanskrit provision. That even when other
-
people are going through economic hardship and
-
stuff is going up and down and the stock market's
-
not doing well, he will satisfy your needs. He
-
will strengthen your frame. And he will give
-
you spiritual life. You will be a well -watered
-
garden. Because he promises that to you. But
-
he says, come on. Because I want to give you
-
all the blessings, all most of us. I feel that
-
sense of it's time. Let me break through. Let
-
me do this for you. It's time of breakthrough.
-
But will you tick the ifs? Then he will tick
-
the thens. And he will come to you. It's time
-
to break through. I want to just come. I've had
-
some prophetic stuff. I want to pray for you,
-
Aaron. I asked what your name was. So can you
-
just come? All weekend I've seen you worshipping.
-
And so I asked Pastor Brad, I said, what's the
-
name of that young man? He said, it's Aaron.
-
I just want you to know that wasn't word of knowledge.
-
That was word of asking. But I didn't ask anything
-
else. And I just felt it's a whole new season
-
for you to know that your God is with you. I
-
almost saw you all weekend. There's such a passion
-
inside you to be released. But there's also like
-
you've gone through a season where you felt there's
-
also like a dam where you think, well, I don't
-
know where to let it go. And it's like this conflict
-
of passions inside, but opportunities of almost
-
restriction. You've sort of been vacillating
-
inside. God, which way? How? Where? And I just
-
feel that God says there's a deep, deep well
-
in you. Deep, deep well in you. And sometimes
-
you've looked at that deep well and you said,
-
but I want it to be a river. I want to go almost
-
like White River with surfing. I want some activity.
-
I want it to be a little bit more. But he says,
-
no, I've been digging a deep, deep well in you.
-
And he's taken you deep before he takes you wide.
-
And I just feel that he says, just be at peace
-
in your soul. Don't worry that it's just seemed
-
to be very narrow. And he thought, but I just
-
feel restricted. But God says, no, no, no, I've
-
taken you deep, deep, deep, deep, deep. But I'm
-
going to stretch you wide. And I believe there
-
is a call to nations in you. And there is a call
-
to touch the West. Touching the east. The east
-
touching the west. And even the north touching
-
the south. And the south touching the north.
-
And you've said, but how does it all work? And
-
even financially. And I just can't see how it
-
all works. And you've sat at different times
-
at night. And I just felt that God just says
-
to you, you know what? You've served me faithfully.
-
And it's almost like I saw an electrical switchboard,
-
you know, where you've got all the fuse boxes
-
and how different lights have to go on. You have
-
to go flick the switches. And I just feel that
-
the Holy Spirit's standing at this fuse box of
-
your life. And at this time, it's only certain
-
rooms feel lit, but he's just going to suddenly
-
flick switches and it literally is going to be.
-
that there will be alignments that come and suddenly,
-
oh, this week's end, flick, flick, flick, flick,
-
flick. And the lights are going to come on to
-
release you to do what's really in your heart
-
to do. But God just says, you've been faithful
-
and you've been a faithful servant. And I will
-
open the doors of that teaching. I believe there's
-
a real teacher trainer from the deep well. And
-
he will bless you. And he will satisfy you in
-
the sun scorched down. And you've often felt,
-
well, it's just got dry and it's got a bit hard.
-
And I'm not sure, but I'm just going to stand
-
and be faithful. I'll be standing and be faithful.
-
And standing and be faithful. And standing and
-
be faithful. And God says, and in a moment, that
-
which has gone deep will stretch wide. And the
-
eagle wings. We'll see the nations. So Father,
-
I bless for the nations. I bless for the nations.
-
I bless for the nations. I feel also you've really
-
wondered, well, how much should I do practically?
-
And how much should I do for the ministry? Because
-
you've always thought, well, maybe it's a ministry.
-
Maybe I should just get a job. Maybe I should
-
train this and that. And I just feel that God
-
says, no, just keep getting every gift and calling
-
to go deep. And there is just practical, natural
-
training. He wants to skill your hands in the
-
natural workplace. And he will then equip you
-
in the ministry place. But this is that season.
-
It's a mixture season. And you've sort of, you've
-
vacillated. Well, this doesn't look so spiritual.
-
But I just feel God says to you, no, just dig
-
in there. Dig it deep and do it well. And he
-
will stretch the ministry to you later. But I
-
feel it is a practical season of just putting
-
your feet under the desk and table and all that
-
sort of stuff. And you thought, but why? And
-
I just feel God's going to put all these bits
-
together later as he flicks the switchboard.
-
And it will make sense. But it's actually a season
-
of quite frustrating sort of normal for you.
-
But God says it's not a waste of time. This is
-
an investment to take you deep. to stretch you
-
wide so that you can carry all that I've got
-
for you in the years ahead. Because I'm going
-
to make you a pillar that's a load bearer. And
-
he loves you, Aaron. You're very, very precious.
-
Maybe a couple of you men could just come and
-
just pray over him. Very, very precious. Very,
-
very precious. Blessed, blessed, blessed. Bless,
-
bless, bless, bless, bless. We thank you Father
-
for Aaron. Thank you Father for Aaron. So for
-
the rest of us, why don't we just stand in the
-
presence of God. And if you know this morning
-
that there are some ifs that need to get right
-
so that the then of God can come forth. Maybe
-
you know in your life you've made some bad choices.
-
Maybe you know that sin. You just know you've
-
made bad choices and you're not living on the
-
cutting edge of what God's called you to be.
-
And so this morning you need to say, Jesus, I'm
-
sorry. I want to change. the destiny direction
-
of my life. I need you in my life. Because the
-
only thing that can help you really hit the bullseye
-
of God is the water and the breath of his spirit.
-
That's what carries you to hit the mark. And
-
so if you're not leaning upon God and you're
-
trying to make it on your own, you usually end
-
up in the wrong place. But God's here and he
-
doesn't want you to live a life of sin. He wants
-
you to live a life of satisfaction. And maybe
-
you just feel in your life, I just never seem
-
to hit it. It always goes wrong. Well, I know
-
a man, his name is Jesus. He can let you live
-
with the satisfaction of a life that hits the
-
mark. And if you're here this morning and you
-
know, I'm just missing it. I just feel I'm missing
-
it. And there's something in you that's saying,
-
oh God, I just want to know that you're with
-
me. Then I just ask you to put your hand right
-
up to heaven, wherever you are right now. And
-
I want to pray for you. You know that God bless
-
you, bless you. All around this place. God bless
-
you, bless you. I want to pray with you. And
-
so as you put your hands to heaven, Father, right
-
now in Jesus' name, I pray. That every one of
-
these lives will be like an arrow that hits the
-
mark. And this morning we pray that they will
-
make the right choice to know that their life
-
has hit the mark. I would just like to invite
-
those of you who've got your hands up and you
-
just know that there's an area that God's just
-
showing you. We're a safe house here. We're not
-
going to embarrass you. But if you could just
-
come down the front and pray with me, that would
-
be great. I'd just love to pray for you down
-
the front. You just know God spoke to you this
-
morning and you're just saying, you know what?
-
I want to make sure that my life hits the mark.
-
Wherever you are, you know what God said to you.
-
Just come. If you want to come with a friend,
-
just come with them. Just walk down together.
-
That's fine. You don't have to come alone. Just
-
turn to someone and say, you know, I would like
-
someone to pray for me this morning. Just come.
-
Just come. We'd love that opportunity. And then
-
the prayer team, if you could just come. Men
-
with men, women with women. And just begin to
-
agree in prayer with them that their life will
-
hit the target of God. That every sense of dissatisfaction,
-
loneliness, that they will know, just as you
-
put your hand on them, they will know the hand
-
of God come upon their life and satisfy them.
-
If you can stand around the front of them and
-
just look at their face, let them know. that
-
you're representative Jesus. Find out their names
-
and just pray with them so that they know God
-
is with them today. And do just come. And for
-
the rest of us, just take hands together and
-
let's just pray. Father, this morning, let's
-
just pray with me. Father, this morning, we ask
-
you, let us be people positioned to carry the
-
glory of God. Let us be those that do away with
-
the ifs so we see the then of God break through.
-
And everyone said, Amen. We'll give at least
-
two people a hug and bless them in Jesus' name.
