  1. My first time here. Rachel's part of the family,

  2. so I feel part of the family. And it's been quite

  3. a revelation driving across farmland and thinking,

  4. what on earth can you find here? And then suddenly

  5. you arrive here and hundreds of people in the

  6. middle of nowhere. So it's just amazing. But

  7. some churches you go to and you wonder if God

  8. even knows about it. But hey, God seems to really

  9. like you. And it's been a real privilege to be

  10. here. And I not only feel part of the family,

  11. I just feel excited that something is stirring.

  12. There's faith here. There's an excitement in

  13. God. And it's very important as we push through.

  14. We're in a crossroads in the nations at the moment.

  15. I'm very briefly, for those of you who don't

  16. know me, I'm a fluffy sheep pastor. I look after

  17. lots of fluffy sheep. back in my church. And

  18. I made a commitment not to travel. We've always

  19. traveled together. And you know what it's like.

  20. You get a pastor who comes along and then he's

  21. always traveling. I just made a commitment and

  22. said, guys, I'm not going to travel for three

  23. years. I'm going to let Rachel travel. But I

  24. snuck out this week. And I just thought, I really

  25. want to see what Rachel's doing over here. And

  26. Rachel Ritchie is with us. She's an intern with

  27. us. And she's been fantastic. She's born to preach.

  28. She's a great preacher. And it's been a real

  29. privilege watching her grow and to spread her

  30. wings. But you need to know we are in a crisis

  31. situation in the nation in England. You need

  32. to pray for us. I know in the Second World War

  33. we just screamed across the pond and said, come

  34. on guys, you need to fight with this battle for

  35. Europe. We're going to scream the same again.

  36. We need you to come across and help the battle

  37. for Europe. This is a critical, critical spiritual

  38. battle for Europe. Because there's revival spreading

  39. all around different parts of the world. But

  40. fortress Europe, the enemy has sort of come thinking

  41. we're going to hold on. Last stand, we're going

  42. to hold on here. But he's got a big mistake.

  43. He's made a big mistake. And we really do want

  44. to challenge you. Just take that battle seriously.

  45. Pray for us because there's a special time coming

  46. that those nations are going to open up to God.

  47. So thank you. Thank you for... Welcoming. Can

  48. we pray for Rachel as she starts? Let's stretch

  49. our hands out to Rachel. Father, we want to thank

  50. you for Rachel. Thank you that she carries your

  51. word. She carries your glory. She carries the

  52. gift of God. And so, Father, we pray for a full

  53. release of that word into this church. Lord,

  54. with life, with health, with wholeness, with

  55. revelation. Lord, come this morning and speak

  56. to every single one of us right where we're at.

  57. In Jesus' mighty name. Amen. Well, as always,

  58. it's been a real delight to be with you. And

  59. we've been on a journey. We set our heart on

  60. a pilgrimage to pursue the presence of God. And

  61. that was the title of our ladies' conference

  62. in pursuit, passionate pursuit. of his presence,

  63. and I started the opening evening, and if you

  64. want to get the CDs, it's not too sort of pink

  65. and girly, and I don't think you'll be embarrassed

  66. if you listen to it as a man, but we started

  67. the opening night of just looking at that private

  68. and public place of releasing the presence of

  69. God, and how I believe God is calling us into

  70. the intimate place where we get to know the face

  71. of our Father, but then he's turning us around

  72. and releasing us into the powerful place where

  73. we do the works of Jesus and there's that sense

  74. of how do we which pursuit of which presence

  75. and I have of course all of us want that intimate

  76. place where we know the face of the one who loves

  77. us but I also want to know the power of the one

  78. who heals, raises the dead, delivers the tormented

  79. and there's a passionate pursuit for the presence

  80. of power. as well as the presence of intimacy,

  81. and we looked at that. And then in the morning,

  82. I did an exegesis, really, a line -by -line exposition

  83. of the scripture of the woman with an issue of

  84. blood. And I called it, I Want My Life Back.

  85. And how many times the enemy just comes, and

  86. it's like we feel our life is flowing away. And

  87. the process, really, the journey God takes us

  88. on to touch Jesus and see. And have that cry

  89. of the woman, I've got my life back. And something's

  90. happening in me. And then there were amazing

  91. workshops. And Gordon then did the afternoon

  92. session for the women. On really overcoming fear

  93. and torment. And shared his story about how God

  94. brought him through a mental breakdown. And brought

  95. him to a place to be bold. and strong and how

  96. God deals with you and even the issues of life

  97. can actually be the formation of God and out

  98. of that desert place something can stand up that's

  99. bold and alive and able to break through and

  100. shared very vulnerably on how we must deal with

  101. the fear issues if we're ever going to be a people

  102. that know that we're loved and overcome and then

  103. finally in the final session I did a session

  104. on those different journeys pathways of pursuit

  105. the pathway holiness, the pathway of intercession,

  106. the pathway through trials to glory and the pathway

  107. of life and how God sets our feet on a journey.

  108. And often they're not always comfortable. We

  109. set our heart on a pilgrimage, but God breaks

  110. it through. And as we pursue him, we will find

  111. him. Seekers are finders. Then we did, we had

  112. the privilege of speaking on marriage and Gordon

  113. really took Ephesians five, looking at the role

  114. of the man to be. like our bridegroom and the

  115. one who lays his life down and what it really

  116. means to be one who lays your life down. And

  117. he looked at five pillars of the intimate friend,

  118. the servant leader, the proclaiming prophet,

  119. the reconciling priest, and the defending warrior.

  120. And those aspects of Jesus that we are called

  121. to mirror as men. And then I picked up some things

  122. about the women briefly and an overview of why

  123. it's so important we stake. the ground with legitimate

  124. authentic marriage and then last night we started

  125. a series open up the gates of which this is the

  126. last one because I believe in 2008 God is saying

  127. come on it's time to open up the gates And there

  128. are gateways. There's a gateway to the nations.

  129. And dear Gordon, last night spoken, as Pastor

  130. Brad's already said, on really how we open that

  131. gateway to the nations. And as we look into the

  132. Islamic world, North Africa, Middle East, and

  133. Soviet Central Asia sort of area, and look at

  134. the grip that's there with Islam, it's so easy

  135. to think, well, let's just back off and go around

  136. it. But I believe right there God is putting

  137. his dunamis, his dynamite of the Holy Spirit,

  138. spirit to actually open wide that gateway. And

  139. if you go to Isaiah 45 verse 2, I love that verse

    Isaiah 45:2

  140. that God is going to give us these gates. Isaiah

    Isaiah 45:2

  141. 45 verse 2. And this is what the Lord says to

  142. his anointed, to Cyrus by whose right hand I

  143. take hold of, to subdue nations before him, to

  144. strip kings of their armor, to open doors. So

  145. that gates will not be shut. I really believe

  146. Islam thinks, oh, we've shut some gates. Christianity's

  147. not going to get in here. But how many know God's

  148. got the last laugh? You know, those gates are

  149. not going to be shut. And then it goes on. I

  150. will go before you. I will level down the mountains.

  151. I will break down those gates of bronze and cut

  152. through those bars of iron. I will give you,

  153. the church, those treasures of darkness, riches.

  154. stored in secret places. And I just want to say

  155. that God at this time is delighting at ransacking

  156. the devil's treasure trove and presenting them

  157. for the kingdom of God. All through the Muslim

  158. world, God is breaking through those gates of

  159. iron and bronze and he's going into those dark

  160. places and unpacking the devil's treasure trove

  161. and treasures are being released for the glory

  162. of God. Many of you remember last year I was

  163. here with Helen Aza. Do you remember? And she

  164. is still my associate. She's back in England.

  165. And she's 50 % Egyptian and 50 % English. And

  166. during this year, God has just been opening more

  167. and more doors for us. Those of you who were

  168. at the ladies' conference, literally before I

  169. arrived here, my books have just been translated

  170. into Arabic. And so we showed the Arabic cover

  171. and the Arabic translation. And it was just quite

  172. amazing. don't know if we've got them on the

  173. screen but what an amazing thing because the

  174. Arabic church began to say we want tools and

  175. we want this book in Arabic and so right now

  176. in fact the American church mainly has paid for

  177. this it cost eleven thousand dollars isn't that

  178. amazing to produce five thousand books of each

  179. book to translate it all and do it all I think

  180. pretty well all of it's coming except the last

  181. it's a little bit you can't quite see it there

  182. you go if it goes down And they've taken the

  183. ancient door with heaven breaking through the

  184. door. Isn't that amazing? When you actually see

  185. the cover, it's quite dramatic. And that's supernatural

  186. communication. And Rachel Hickson written in

  187. Arabic. At least so they tell me. But they want

  188. that too. And I thought, my, if that church learns

  189. to pray. They reckon there's about a million

  190. underground Christians, especially women, who

  191. want to be trained. So I'll be working with Helen

  192. Aza. She's... committed to stay on with me, and

  193. she's then going to break through those gates,

  194. and we're going to release her one -third of

  195. her time to set training schools through Egypt

  196. to train up an army of ordinary people. We're

  197. literally going to have a mobile training school

  198. of 30 people who we're going to train. We're

  199. writing the materials now, and as we train those

  200. 30, we're then going to give each of those 30

  201. 20 manuals so that when they go back, they train

  202. 20. Do you get what I'm saying? And so they do

  203. that for three months. Then at the end of three

  204. months, we'll go back there. We'll train them

  205. for another two weeks on the next module unit.

  206. And we'll train those 30 who will then take 20

  207. manuals each back to their places and train.

  208. And by doing that over two... We will go for

  209. two weeks and we'll have two teams. So we will

  210. train 60 every two weeks. Week A, we train team

  211. A. Week B, train me. 30 in each, give them 20

  212. each. You can do the maths, send them back. And

  213. we'll be doing that every three months over the

  214. next three years to do a mobile school of theology,

  215. specifically for women. Because that's what the

  216. pastors have asked us to do. They said, we have

  217. never done anything for women in the Arabic world.

  218. And they said, we just are asking you. Come help

  219. us train our women because we believe that they're

  220. a secret army of what God wants to do. Come on,

  221. we're going to open those gates in Jesus' name.

  222. I'll just tell you one story. Did you tell the

  223. story of Saudi? No, you didn't tell it. But this

  224. story was given to me when I was in Egypt and

  225. they were just talking about what God is doing

  226. underground. Now, Saudi Arabia would still be

  227. one of the most closed and difficult. And there

  228. was a young girl who'd finished all her training.

  229. She had been over in the West because still the

  230. elite. A Middle Eastern family sends their children

  231. to either Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, Yale, because

  232. they pay for the scholarships. And even their

  233. girls, they will educate them and send them.

  234. And this young girl had been sent over to Britain,

  235. and she had done law. And while she'd been there,

  236. she had found Jesus and got born again. She began

  237. to read the Bible, got filled with the Spirit,

  238. but she couldn't tell her family. She had to

  239. keep it quiet. But it was now time for her to

  240. go home for the long holidays. And she'd taken

  241. the Bible with her. And as she arrived at her

  242. home, all the servants had picked up her stuff.

  243. And she was a bit terrified because you don't

  244. really have private space because there are servant

  245. people in your house, in your space, in your

  246. room. They make your bed. They do your rooms.

  247. And she was just beginning to pray. So she kept

  248. her Bible on her person and said, God, show me

  249. where I can hide my Bible. I want my Bible. I

  250. don't want to lose it. took a huge personal risk

  251. even taking it into the house. And as she prayed,

  252. she felt God speak to her and say, at 11 o 'clock,

  253. you're to go up the back attic stairs and you're

  254. to go to this high loft room. And as you go into

  255. the room, you'll see a trunk, which is positioned

  256. in this area of the attic. And you're to lift

  257. the left -hand side of the carpet over the trunk

  258. and hide the Bible under there and leave it.

  259. So at about 11 o 'clock, she got up, went up

  260. these back attic stairs. And as she's putting

  261. the Bible under this area of the carpet, She

  262. hears someone on the stairs opening the door.

  263. She then hides into the end of the attic. And

  264. she sees this shape come up, walk over to the

  265. trunk where she's just put her Bible. But this

  266. person went to the right -hand side of the trunk,

  267. lifted back the carpet, pulled out the Word of

  268. God and knelt down, began to pray. She went up

  269. because she couldn't see who it was. She then

  270. realized it was her mother. Her mother had become

  271. a believer two years older and they discovered

  272. each other up in the attic as her daughter went

  273. and flipped her side of the rug and showed her

  274. Bible. Isn't that an amazing story? I want to

  275. tell you that we are living in phenomenal days.

  276. And the devil holds the checkmate. Heaven holds

  277. the checkmate. Devil might have sounded check,

  278. but heaven holds checkmate. And we've got to

  279. see it. So say with me, 2008. We opened the gate

  280. for the king of glory to come in. And then in

  281. the first service, I did three other gates, which

  282. I'm just going to skip on quickly. They will

  283. have been recorded if you want them to fill that.

  284. And then I'm going to do gates, three more gates

  285. now. But then I believe in 2008, God wants to

  286. open the gate of hope. And we looked at Hosea

    Hosea 2:14

  287. chapter 2, verses 14 and 15, and how God loves

  288. to take the place of trouble and open a gate

  289. of hope. I believe one of the reasons the church

  290. needs to stand up and walk out is because he's

  291. made us gatekeepers of hope. And one of the things

  292. the enemy wants to do is put such hopelessness

  293. in people. He wants to put it in the church.

  294. That's why when Pastor Brad made that article,

  295. come on, how many of you are facing impossibility?

  296. You feel that sense of hopelessness when you

  297. walk out. In the house it feels good, but in

  298. life it feels bad. And you see the enemy... loves

  299. to pickpocket our hope. But Hebrews 11 verse

    Hebrews 11:1

  300. 1 says, now faith is the substance of things

  301. hoped for. And so the enemy hijacks our hope

  302. and then our faith gets depleted. But we know

  303. without faith, it is impossible to please God.

  304. So we need faith and hope. And 1 Corinthians

    1 Corinthians 13:13

  305. 13 verse 13 says, these three remain. Which three?

  306. Faith, hope, and love. And so this is the season

  307. to open the door of hope. And God wants to take

  308. us from the valley of trouble through the door

  309. of hope and make sure that hope is not depleted

  310. but completed and multiplied. Because my Bible

  311. says his hope does not disappoint us. Romans

    Romans 5:5

  312. 5 verse 5. And this hope does not disappoint

  313. you because the love of God has been shed abroad

  314. in your hearts by the power of the Holy Spirit.

  315. I think it's Hebrews 6, about verse 19, it says,

  316. and his hope is an anchor for my soul, secure

  317. and firm. You see, there's a security when our

  318. hope is God -triggered, God -inspired. That expectancy,

  319. that longing, isn't just a pipe dream, but it

  320. is real. And God has put hope in each one of

  321. us, and that hope is reliable hope. It's not

  322. fantasy. And so God wants the church to be those

  323. with a message of secure hope. That as we step

  324. out, we have hope, keys of hope, to open the

  325. gates for many lives. And that where they're

  326. being overwhelmed with weariness, depression,

  327. and disappointment, God opens a gate of hope

  328. in Jesus' name. Amen. Gate for the nation, gate

  329. of hope. Number three gate is the gate to heaven.

  330. And if you turn to Genesis 28 verse 16, I just

    Genesis 28:16

  331. preached it this morning, so check me out. But

  332. Genesis 28 verse 16, we see the story there of

    Genesis 28:16

  333. Jacob. And Jacob is a representative of a seeker

  334. generation. If you want more, let's get the tape

  335. this morning. But you see, Jacob was asleep and

  336. the seeker in him had gone to sleep. And it says

  337. this here. And Jacob woke up from his sleep and

  338. he was not aware that God, surely God is in this

  339. place, it says, but I was not aware of it. And

  340. so many of us go through that process. Surely

  341. God is in this place, but my awareness of God

  342. has decreased. And God wants to open that up.

  343. And it goes on to say, and so I grew afraid.

  344. But how awesome is this place? This is none other

  345. than the house of God. This is a gateway to heaven.

  346. And I want to say right here in Harrisburg, you

  347. can have seasons when you're very God aware.

  348. You can have seasons when you become very God

  349. aware. unaware. But we need to open that gateway

  350. of heaven, that seeking hungry atmosphere of

  351. our heart that just seeks his presence. It keeps

  352. the right awareness. Surely God is in this place.

  353. It's very easy to get overwhelmed and get distracted

  354. and fall to sleep and become sleepy in your expectancy.

  355. But Jacob woke up. And then he had a right awareness.

  356. And God wants to open an awareness of heaven

  357. over your life. Don't let the enemy lull you

  358. to sleep and then tell you God's disappeared.

  359. God didn't disappear. Your awareness of him disappeared.

  360. And God wants to open heaven over your life today.

  361. He wants to open that gate in 2008 so you are

  362. aware of the goodness of God and heaven over

  363. you. We all go through seasons when the cloud

  364. comes in and obscures the truth. vision it didn't

  365. mean the mountains went away they just got obscured

  366. the third gate we want to open the gate of glory

  367. in the land and we read this in Ezekiel 43 verses

    Ezekiel 43:1

  368. 1 and 2 and it says and the man came and positioned

  369. me at the east gate and I shared how that picture

  370. of the east gate is a picture of the the division

  371. between the church and the community again and

  372. again between the temple porch and the marketplace

  373. that east gate is the divider and the water of

  374. God comes from the throne under the east gate

  375. into the land you find that all the way through

  376. Ezekiel 47 you track the east gate through scripture

  377. and you'll find it's always that junction And

  378. it says, and the man bought me. And sometimes

  379. we need God to bring us to a new community awareness.

  380. We need him to take us from the intimate place

  381. of the altar and stand us at the east gate and

  382. say, take responsibility. That's your land. What

  383. are you going to do? And then we have to release

  384. the water of his word. We have to begin to speak

  385. his word into the situation and watch what it

  386. does. And it says then, and so I opened the east

  387. gate and the land was radiant with his glory.

  388. I want to see that gate open. I want to see the

  389. gateways into our communities becoming radiant

  390. with the presence and the glory of God. I want

  391. to see people being God -aware and God -presence

  392. -aware rather than a cultic power and, you know,

  393. even secular power. People are more aware of

  394. the presence of the devil than they are of God.

  395. I always remember a young friend of David's,

  396. my son, coming into our home when he was about

  397. 17. And he just said, take me somewhere where

  398. I can sense the presence of God. People want

  399. to know what the glory feels like. And so he's

  400. calling us, come on, stand at the east gate.

  401. Let the water of the word be released like the

  402. roar of waters. And let the land begin to shimmer,

  403. radiate, gleam, glisten, literally. With the

  404. glory of God. So now the three last gates. Let's

  405. see if I can do them quickly. But the number

  406. five gate. As I believe in this season, 2008,

  407. God wants to open the gate of inheritance or

  408. the gate of legacy. And in many ways we've echoed

  409. this cry all the way through the worship. This

  410. is the gate where the King of Glory walks in

  411. and ancient doors have to make way for the King

  412. of Glory. And this is Psalm 24 verse 7. So lift

    Psalms 24:7

  413. up your heads, O ye gates. Be lifted up, you

  414. ancient doors, that the King of glory may come

  415. in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong

  416. and mighty. The Lord mighty in battle. Lift up

  417. your heads, O ye gates. Lift them up, you ancient

  418. doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who

  419. is he, this King of glory? The Lord almighty.

  420. He is the King of glory. And so in 2008, I just

  421. believe God is wanting to open gates. And it

  422. says, be lifted up, O you gates. Be lifted up,

  423. you ancient doors. And God really began to speak

  424. to me when I was just meditating on gates and

  425. doorways. And he said, Rachel, so often in the

  426. church, you only think about the gateways that

  427. go forward. But sometimes you need to go back

  428. to open the ancient gates of legacy and inheritance

  429. to release a full generational blessing to propel

  430. you into all that God has for you. So lift up

  431. your heads, O ye gates. Be lifted up, you ancient

  432. doors. Release all the legacy, for the King of

  433. glory wants to come in. And so often, as we open

  434. up those gateways, it isn't just, oh, let's find

  435. a nice key. They open nicely. It isn't like,

  436. oh, wow, God wants to do this, so it's just happening

  437. easy. What is the picture of the God that opens

  438. these gateways? It's the God of war. We have

  439. to wrestle for our destiny. We have to wrestle

  440. and fight out every inch of the way. Just like

  441. the early Israelite nation. How many know God

  442. broke open the gate and got them out of their

  443. prison house in Egypt. He crossed them over the

  444. Red Sea. They battled through the wilderness.

  445. But even when you read Joshua chapter 1, now

    Joshua 1 chapter mention

  446. the season was inheritance. They said, go, here's

  447. your land. Walk into a land full of milk and

  448. honey. Was it easy? No. They battled every inch

  449. to take their inheritance and legacy. They had

  450. to open the gate of their ancient promises. They

  451. have to open the gateway of their legacy, their

  452. history, their generational flow. And to step

  453. into their destiny, they had to open the gate

  454. of their legacy. Do you get what I'm saying?

  455. And I believe in 2008, God is wanting to open

  456. gates of history to release your destiny. It

  457. isn't that we go back and live there forever.

  458. But all through scripture, there's almost this

  459. contradiction. There's certain scriptures. You

  460. can go to Philippines, chapter 3. It says, you

  461. know, forget the former things. Don't go back.

  462. Let go. Do not hold to the past, but take hold

  463. of the new. And so you think, oh, well, God keeps

  464. telling me, don't go back. You know, Isaiah 43,

  465. 18, you know, do forget the former things, don't

  466. dwell on the past. See, a new thing springs up,

  467. do you not perceive it? So you think, I've just

  468. got to forget about the past and press into the

  469. new. Then there's another whole lot of scriptures,

  470. Deuteronomy 6. Come on, meditate on yesterday,

  471. build an altar, remember the former things. Ecclesiastes.

  472. Don't forget the former thing. And you think,

  473. well, God, can you make your mind up? One minute

  474. you're saying forget, don't look back, don't

  475. hold press in. The next minute you're saying

  476. meditate on it, think about it. But this is the

  477. key. I believe that God is asking us to understand

  478. our legacy and our inheritance and our destiny.

  479. But he's asking us to forget the failure and

  480. the negativity of yesterday. But we've got to

  481. remember the inheritance of yesterday to get

  482. what I'm saying. You see, I believe in every

  483. single one of us is generational seed. And so

  484. often when we look at our generations, we only

  485. look back three or four. We look back to our

  486. grandparents and maybe our great -grandparents

  487. and maybe we look back and what we see is not

  488. very pretty. And often we look back to deal with

  489. the negative stuff. We get rid of maybe if there's

  490. been alcoholism or maybe there's been sexual

  491. impurity. And we look back and we think, oh,

  492. there's some nasty skeletons in the cupboard.

  493. Let's just cleanse them and get rid of them and

  494. then I can walk free. But many times we don't

  495. go digging for the treasure troves. But God is

  496. saying, come on, lift up your heads or your gates

  497. be lifted up. Lift up those ancient doors that

  498. the king of glory may come in. Now, my Bible

  499. says that the negative generational flow operates

  500. to three and four generations. Do you agree with

  501. me? But what does it say about the positive?

  502. But his love lasts for how long? A thousand generations.

  503. Hello, do you get what I'm saying? So you see,

  504. there are legacies in your generational flow

  505. that go far beyond your great granddad, that

  506. you can begin to open up right down your family

  507. line for yourself individually, for yourself

  508. corporately, for this city, for this region.

  509. There might have been some negative choices,

  510. but I bet there's some seed in this ground that

  511. has powerful legacy, inheritance seed, more than

  512. your grass seed that goes all around the world.

  513. There is righteous seed. hear that goes back

  514. quite a few generations, that we need to open

  515. up and then walk on and warfare for those promises.

  516. Just out of interest, how many of you here, as

  517. far as you're aware, are maybe the first in your

  518. generation to turn to God? Could you just stand?

  519. You will be what I call turning generations.

  520. You've made a stand to choose Jesus. And you

  521. haven't come, as far as you know, from a Christian

  522. home, Christian family, Christian viewpoint.

  523. You are the first turning seed. You're very precious.

  524. You made a stand in your generation. But as far

  525. as you know, people behind you didn't. I want

  526. to say, you might have looked back to your grandfathers

  527. and thought, what's that? But I bet somewhere

  528. in your family line, there is an ancient door

  529. and a gate that's calling. Come on, open up the

  530. gates. Open up the gates. And I want to say to

  531. each one of you, did you realize you are a gatekeeper?

  532. And a gate opener. You have opened a generational

  533. gate of blessing for your family line. Because

  534. as for you and your household, you're opening

  535. a new gateway of blessing, a new legacy, a new

  536. inheritance. And how many of you would say it's

  537. been tough? Well, you see, lift up those gates.

  538. Let the king of warfare come in because you're

  539. going to have to fight every inch of the land.

  540. Just like the Israelites, when they wanted their

  541. promised land, the devil hates initiators, hates

  542. the firstborn seed. He hated Jesus, the firstborn

  543. seed that made a way for every one of us. He

  544. hates you. Because you're turning at not only

  545. your life, because he understands legacy. He

  546. knows it's not just about you. It's about who

  547. you are, what you carry in you. It's about your

  548. kids that come from you and the grandchildren

  549. and great -grandchildren. You're opening a whole

  550. river that he hates. So he's going to fight you.

  551. Do you understand? And that's why you're turning

  552. generation. So, Father, right now, don't sit

  553. down yet. Right now, in Jesus' name, and if they're

  554. standing with you, we pray for an awesome authority

  555. to come upon these turning generations, that

  556. you will give them a new tenacity to break through,

  557. not only for them, but for their kids and their

  558. grandkids. And we turn generations. We open gates

  559. for the kingdom of God, for the king of glory.

  560. is coming into your family line. The king of

  561. glory is going to walk right through your family

  562. line. You've opened a gate and now the king of

  563. glory is going to come in. Who is this king of

  564. glory? The Lord, strong and mighty. This is the

  565. king of glory. Be lifted up, you ancient gates,

  566. whatever your family names are. Come on, you're

  567. going to make way for the king of glory to come

  568. in this generation, in this family line. Write

  569. down sons, daughters. Mothers, children, write

  570. down the family line. Make way because the king

  571. of glory is coming in. In Jesus' name. In Jesus'

  572. name. And everyone say, amen. But for those of

  573. you who have come from a family line, maybe we

  574. don't even realize. I'm just going to tell you

  575. a story. I'm telling stories. But this totally

  576. blew my mind. I am Rachel Hickson today because

  577. I've been married to this man for nearly 27,

  578. 28 years. 27 and a bit now. And I changed my

  579. name. But before I was married, I was Rachel

  580. Vincent. Or, if you say it in French, Vincent.

  581. And I just thought, well, I'm Rachel Vincent.

  582. We were on holiday in France, in the south of

  583. France, in the Cévennes area. It was very hot.

  584. We were tired. We needed a drink and a bit of

  585. shade. And so Gordon is much more sort of museum

  586. orientated than I am, especially when the museum

  587. is in a foreign language and you don't speak

  588. it. I mean, that doesn't particularly excite

  589. me. But Gordon speaks French. So we decided to

  590. go into this tiny little museum. The Museum of

  591. the Desert. I mean, it doesn't exactly sound

  592. exciting. But we went in there. And as we walked

  593. in there, I was fascinated because this was the

  594. museum of the Huguenots. And all there was all

  595. their stuff. It was in French. But the fascinating

  596. thing is everywhere was this Vincent family.

  597. Vincent, Vincent, Vincent. And it awakened my

  598. curiosity. And the founding sort of mom and dad

  599. from the 1680s to the 1730s were a couple called

  600. Samuel and Sarah Vincent. And this couple carried

  601. a fire to see the next generation break through

  602. and carry really signs and wonders and miracles

  603. and carry the prophetic. And they were known

  604. as the prophetic family of the Cervant area.

  605. And they said, and written in the French was,

  606. it was particularly carried upon the woman. And

  607. Sarah Vincent was an extraordinary prophetic

  608. revelatory woman who carried a heart cry for

  609. the next generation. She began to pray over the

  610. children in this area and there was a young boy

  611. called Thomas Vincent who was the nephew of Sarah

  612. Vincent who she particularly took in and trained

  613. amongst the others. And the Spirit of God so

  614. fell upon these Huguenots that the Catholic traditional

  615. church absolutely hated them, because God began

  616. to give them, in their own French dialect, the

  617. direct translation of the Bible. Now, at that

  618. time, the Bible had not been translated. It was

  619. still in Latin, High Latin, and these were illiterate

  620. farming people in the Cévennes area of France.

  621. But by revelation, prophetic revelation, they

  622. began to recite scripture in local French dialect,

  623. and children as long as three years old were

  624. found singing. and skipping in the fields, reciting

  625. scripture by heart. This so incensed the Catholic

  626. priests that they began to gather them up and

  627. they began to literally burn at the stakes the

  628. men and women and persecute them. And that was

  629. the Huguenot persecution. They began to fled

  630. to about four different areas, to London. to

  631. Holland, Belgium, and Germany. And from that

  632. place, they actually began to infiltrate Kanzensador

  633. for the Moravian revival. And then many Moravians

  634. left in boats and came to east coast of America.

  635. So you've got them coming in the 1770s, 80s,

  636. landing here. You also had them beginning to

  637. infiltrate London and a famous lane called Fetters

  638. Lane, where a young man called John Mesley went

  639. and visited the Fetters Lane, where the Huguenots

  640. had gotten with the Holy Spirit glory crowd,

  641. and his heart was strangely warmed. And it all

  642. began from this little road. Now, many of you

  643. know that I've had a real heart for London. Do

  644. you remember that? And when I came back from

  645. India to London, God gave me such a clear picture

  646. that he wanted to touch London with the glory

  647. and the fire of God. And when I wrote out the

  648. London prayer vision back in 1995, I used this

  649. imagery that just as there had been the great

  650. fire of London in the 1770s, And it had burnt

  651. London but saved the city by dealing with the

  652. plague that the rats had carried in the sewers.

  653. So I believe that a new day of glory was going

  654. to come. And the fire of God was going to descend

  655. upon London. And this time it would be a spiritual

  656. fire. But it would burn out the sin that had

  657. hidden in the roots of the city. And God would

  658. extract it. And how many of you think, well we

  659. think we're original. Well after this. I began

  660. to research the Vincents. And I discovered that

  661. this son, this nephew, Thomas Vincent, escaped

  662. on a boat with another part of the family. And

  663. he was sent to London. And during the Great Fire

  664. of London, he prophesied over the city of London.

  665. The prophecy is called the Holy Wrath of God.

  666. You can find it online. If you put Thomas Vincent

  667. in, in the Huguenots, you can find it. And part

  668. of the essence of what he prophesied that day

  669. was, today London burns with a great fire. It

  670. will save the city from the plague that has stolen

  671. so many lives. But this is not the true fire

  672. of London. In many years from now, another fire

  673. will hit this city. And the glory of God will

  674. be seen in the city of London. And London will

  675. be saved from her sin. And London will again

  676. turn to be a city that loves God. I thought,

  677. how does God do that? We've traced it and we

  678. are related. Open up the ancient norms. The reason

  679. I'm sharing this is, you see, I believe sometimes

  680. we think we have weird, outrageous passions and

  681. dreams. You see, I'm not a London girl. I grew

  682. up in India. I'm a mish kid and a preacher's

  683. kid. I've never lived in London, really. Never

  684. born in London. We had a business in London for

  685. a while. But I couldn't understand this triggering

  686. passion for London. Even today, you can see him

  687. telling that. It breaks my heart. I carry an

  688. intercession for London. I can't explain that.

  689. I don't know what that's about. But I began to

  690. discover it as I opened my ancient doors. I began

  691. to discover I've got destiny seed in me from

  692. way back, which gives me an authority into the

  693. city of London. And there's something on me that

  694. I couldn't even understand. And it isn't in my

  695. mom. And it's not in my grandmother. But it's

  696. back in my seed, 200 and something years old.

  697. But God's seed is incorruptible seed. And his

  698. destiny seed never dies. And there's seed in

  699. some of you that has never made sense. But lift

  700. up your heads, O ye gates. Be lifted up, you

  701. ancient doors. Because the king of glory is going

  702. to come in. And every inheritance and every destiny

  703. seed will be birthed and break through. Because

  704. the Lord is mighty. And he's mighty in battle.

  705. Amen. The final, I've got two more gates. One's

  706. very quick. But the next one's six. The sixth

  707. gate is understanding the gates, the open and

  708. shut gates. Understanding the open and shut gates.

  709. And this was another revelation to me. And you

  710. find this scripture in Revelation 3, verse 7.

    Revelation 3:7

  711. Revelation 3 verse 7. And you see, as we step

    Revelation 3:7

  712. into the season, 2008, the season to open the

  713. gates, we need to understand gates that are shut,

  714. gates that are open, what they mean, and how

  715. to live in those seasons. And to the angel of

  716. the church of Philadelphia write, these are the

  717. words of him who is holy and true, who holds

  718. the keys of David. What he shuts, Ron, no one

  719. can open. But what he opens, no one can shut.

  720. Do you understand? What he opens, no one can

  721. shut. What he shuts, no one can open. You see,

  722. most of us in the Christian life, we have this

  723. theology, and I'm not sure where we get it from.

  724. That if it's an open door, it's God. If it's

  725. a shut door, it's the devil. Do you agree? And

  726. so as soon as there's a shut door, we pray, we

  727. fast, we kick, we scream, we headbang, we think.

  728. We go crazy because if it's a shut door, it automatically

  729. has to be the devil. If it's an open door, it

  730. automatically has to be God. I just want to say

  731. that I had such a revelation that that's not

  732. necessarily true. And I believe this is such

  733. a critical season where we need to begin to discern.

  734. Yes, of course, there are hindrances. Yes, of

  735. course, there are wrestles. Yes, of course, there

  736. are obstacles where the devil resists and we

  737. need to fight through. But we need the discernment

  738. to know whether this is a season of resistance

  739. or we're fighting God. How many know there's

  740. a big difference? And so you see. This is what

  741. the word of the Lord says to you. What he opens,

  742. Rhonda, no one can shut. Isn't that comforting?

  743. No one can shut it. But Rhonda, what he shuts,

  744. no one, not even you, with all your prayer, all

  745. your intercession, can open. What he shuts, no

  746. one, not even us, can open. And so I began to

  747. think about this. I began to think, well, what?

  748. What is that about? What are the shut doors about?

  749. Well, let's keep on reading. He said, for I know

  750. your deeds. Now see, I have placed before you

  751. an open door. So what I have opened, no one can

  752. shut. What I've shut, no one can open. I know

  753. your deeds, but now see, I've placed before you

  754. an open door. And I know you have little strength,

  755. yet you've kept my word and not denied my name.

  756. Let me give you an illustration which maybe will

  757. explain this. And I believe this is going to

  758. be a revelation for many of you. I believe in

  759. our Christian life, we go through seasons of

  760. shut and open doors. And every shut door is not

  761. just the enemy's strategy against us. It's actually

  762. what I've termed the holding zone of God. He

  763. leads you. And it's like the prophets talk about,

  764. well, God's deceived me. You really felt that

  765. the Holy Spirit leads you by word of knowledge,

  766. prophetic word. You end up at this door, you

  767. cry, you pray, you kick, you scream. And you

  768. suddenly think, but this door's resisting me.

  769. Let me illustrate. When we were in Watford, we

  770. were the senior pastors of a group of four churches.

  771. We knew God began to speak to us. It was time

  772. to release those churches and move on. And so

  773. we began to pray about where to go. At that time,

  774. God... open, many different words and opportunities

  775. for us about Peterborough, which is a city about

  776. 150 miles north of us. We were very connected

  777. with the senior pastors there. They really wanted

  778. us to come in and help them. It's a perfect fit.

  779. I know them really well. In fact, I still minister

  780. in their church ever so frequently. Seven years

  781. ago, I gave a prophetic word to them, go buy

  782. land. It's time to buy a field. They did. And

  783. today they've built an awesome sanctuary. many

  784. stories to tell how God just confirmed and used

  785. me prophetically so accurately beyond my ability

  786. to know anything and so God was opening the door

  787. so for two years we went up there we attended

  788. all their team leadership meetings we went on

  789. their away days we looked at 48 houses in that

  790. area would our house sell no and it was not a

  791. difficult time to sell and our house was a very

  792. eligible We could not shift anything. Nothing

  793. moved. Yet it just seemed to go up to Peterborough.

  794. We built relationship. We did everything for

  795. two years invested. During this time, we're kicking,

  796. we're praying, we're fasting, we're doing everything.

  797. This door, what God shuts, nobody opens. Then

  798. our son comes to us, Mom, Dad, I want to go to

  799. university. Will you help us look at Oxford?

  800. So Gordon goes with him to Oxford one Sunday

  801. because that was the open day of the college.

  802. Had a look around. They finished and wanted to

  803. go to church. They walk into St. Alda's. Gordon

  804. sits down next to the senior leader's wife. She

  805. turns to Gordon and says, you're going to be

  806. the next pastor here. He bursts out laughing.

  807. She bursts out crying. He said, there's no way.

  808. To cut a very long story short, within a week

  809. we're at interview. Within another 24 hours,

  810. the bishops confirmed us. We're back home. We've

  811. got the job we didn't even look for. And that

  812. next day, someone's banging on my house saying,

  813. here's a cash offer for your house, which was

  814. about $25 ,000 above the market price. My house

  815. is gone. And I go, God, what was that about?

  816. And he says, see, behold, I have placed before

  817. you a shut door that no man can open. Not even

  818. you, Rachel, but I know your deeds. But see,

  819. now I've placed before you an open door. And

  820. I said, well, what is this? Open doors, shut

  821. doors, open doors, business all about. And he

  822. said, well, it's about holding zones of faith.

  823. He said, what was happening in Oxford was not

  824. yet even ready for you, but I had to disconnect

  825. you from Watford and I had to prepare you to

  826. move you. So I put you in front of a shut door,

  827. which put you in a season of trial, of faith,

  828. of preparation, of tears. And no, that door wasn't

  829. going to open because it wasn't actually about

  830. you going through the door. It was actually about

  831. you being presented with a door. Do you understand?

  832. But now I place before you the open door. And

  833. he said, and I love it. And God says, but I know

  834. you've got little strength left. Yes, God, you

  835. finished me off with that shut door. I've got

  836. no confidence I can hear God. I've got no confidence

  837. I know what I'm doing. So I'm going to make this

  838. next open door so easy you'll kick through it.

  839. How many of you can recognize that in your life?

  840. As I'm beginning to unfold it, it's like, oh,

  841. I see. And it wasn't our intercession was bad.

  842. It wasn't even the devil closing. It was actually

  843. a timing issue. And I believe for so many of

  844. us, God takes us into seasons of shut doors,

  845. which are timing issues on alignments of a whole

  846. lot of destiny, call. timelines, geographies

  847. that all have to come together. But none of it

  848. is wasted because it puts a depth and a capacity

  849. and a passion in us so that when I know you've

  850. got little strength, here's the open door and

  851. I'm going to give it to you because of two qualities.

  852. You've had consistency. You haven't denied my

  853. name. And you've had faithfulness. You've kept

  854. true to your heart. And there are many people

  855. here. And you've thought, well, what's it about?

  856. Maybe I don't pray enough. No, maybe you just

  857. need to back off headbutting that door. You can

  858. kiss your hurting toes and say it's okay. I don't

  859. have to kick this door anymore. Actually, it

  860. could be a closed door, but I'm going to stay

  861. sitting at this door because I know that you've

  862. got my plans. You've got my future. You've got

  863. my hope. Yes, you've led me to this place and

  864. it's a holding zone for the purposes of God.

  865. I don't have much strength or confidence in my

  866. ability to hear, but right from this position,

  867. I know I could see the next open door and you

  868. will reveal it to me in Jesus' name. Amen. And

  869. for so many of us, we need to understand this

  870. Revelation 3 season. Shut and open doors. Because

  871. it's a season of transitioning and positioning.

  872. And God will get us to the right place at the

  873. right time. Amen. And finally, the last door,

  874. which is very quick, I promise. Door 7. Revelation

  875. 3 .20. Just turn on a little bit more. Behold,

  876. I stand at the door and... Knock, gateway door.

  877. And the privilege of this door is all the other

  878. doors, Jesus is the gatekeeper of this door,

  879. you're the gatekeeper of. You can come and play

  880. for me if you want. And I think what an awesome

  881. privilege that God allows us to be a gatekeeper.

  882. You know, Proverbs 4 .23, above all else, guard

  883. your heart. Guard that gate to your heart and

  884. open it. And I just want to give a little bit

  885. of an eastern twist to this. It says, behold,

  886. I stand at the door and knock. If anyone opens

  887. the gate, door to their heart, and invites me

  888. in and lets me sup with them. You see, it's true

  889. also in farming communities. You have the nice

  890. front room which you bring guests into that you

  891. don't know very well. You have the back kitchen

  892. room where the kitchen table is, where when you've

  893. done a hard day's work, you come in the door,

  894. you kick your boots off, and that's where life

  895. is really done, around the kitchen table. And

  896. it's the same in the East. There is this thing

  897. of, let me come in to your real world and sit

  898. at the family table and sup with you. Don't put

  899. me in the front room and give me the drinks and

  900. be polite. I want to see life in the back room.

  901. And you see, there's an invitation of relationship.

  902. This is the gate of relationship. How deep will

  903. you let God into your life? Are you still playing

  904. front room politics with God? Come in, God, sit

  905. down, this is the thing. No, he says, I don't

  906. want that. I want to open the gates right to

  907. the back room. I want to come to the supping

  908. table. Now, the supping table was the family

  909. table. It's a back room, the farmyard, where

  910. you kick, it smells a bit, it's not perfectly

  911. presented, but it's real. Life is lived in this

  912. table. He said, will you open it and let me in?

  913. So why don't we stand? If you are interested
