Before I actually go to the text can I just talk
-
to you about how to open your heart for a miracle?
-
Because there are people getting them right now
-
That's what pastor was reminding me He's already
-
heard testimonies some of you out there that
-
have experienced a healing touch of Jesus and
-
and some of you that already have it and some
-
of you got it in Saturday service or you got
-
it in one of the morning services in a moment
-
when we're When we're coming to the end of the
-
message and the flood of God's healing is happening
-
for others if you don't mind Hello you that are
-
there to have already experienced it be among
-
the first that come up here because I want to
-
hear what God has done within your life I want
-
everybody needs to hear what God is doing that
-
there's a way of sealing it and that's what I'm
-
talking about Do you know how to receive a miracle?
-
from God to say, I'm not preaching, I'm just
-
talking about how you open your heart. I indicated
-
it in one of the services today that one of the
-
things that helps a person connect with God is
-
to select something they'd like God to do. I
-
mean, have something in mind. It's not that he
-
won't do more than that. or he can't do something
-
other than that, but if you don't select something,
-
you don't open to anything. There's something
-
about the selecting of one thing that helps you
-
maybe connect right with that thing, but more
-
than that, what it really does is it opens your
-
spirit to get everything from the Lord. That's
-
why I pointed out to you that when Jesus would
-
come to people that had visible, obvious needs,
-
he would still ask them, what do you want me
-
to do for you? That's what he would do. Why would
-
you ask someone who is crippled or blind? You
-
can see they're crippled or blind. Why would
-
you ask him that? Because he's getting them to
-
open their heart and connect and say this is
-
what I want. You see someone in this house right
-
now needs to say to themselves, this is the end
-
of migraine headaches for me tonight. Someone
-
someone in this place needs to say to themselves.
-
This is the end of this curvature of the spine
-
Someone's he say to himself. I'm not gonna have
-
diabetes anymore Tonight is the night. Are you
-
hearing that tonight? It's the night for me to
-
receive whatever it is Maybe it's deliverance
-
from panic attacks fears or something. Whatever
-
it is deliverance from an addiction. This is
-
my night You need to set yourself up for something
-
to open your heart do that right now Someone
-
need every one of you select something you say
-
God, you know, you can do all that you want right
-
now I'm gonna say here am I for this Lord? and
-
go ahead and pick a big one, because there's
-
nothing hard for him, all right? And then look
-
for the prompt of the Spirit, the signal of God,
-
the touch of God, because somehow God's gonna
-
interact with you on this. It's not a matter
-
that you just send up a request and you hope
-
that God's something happens. That's not how
-
it happens. You open your heart to him and he
-
begins to work in you. And so they'll come to
-
you either a word within your spirit a sense
-
of confidence You understand the witness of the
-
Holy Spirit may come to you in that way or sometimes.
-
It's a touch of God I have people often often
-
say to me, you know And maybe they had like an
-
arthritic condition in her neck and those olives
-
and my neck just got real hot real hot You know
-
Ben gay thought they started that thing But they
-
really didn't the Holy Ghost and fire has been
-
hitting people for a long time Does anyone know
-
what I mean and I people say that to me They
-
feel like a fire go with him or other people
-
have another sense. They have like a cool breeze
-
come through them or they have, some people describe
-
it like a chill or like an electrical charge
-
and you say, well what is it then? I don't know,
-
it's just a signal from God. That's all, and
-
you may not feel anything like that. It may be
-
something altogether different, but what I am
-
saying is in some way he will touch you. The
-
woman that had the issue of blood, the Bible
-
says she felt in her body that she was healed.
-
Didn't say she had a revelation, didn't say she
-
had a word from heaven, she felt it. There was
-
something that happened that she could feel.
-
She knew it then that that hemorrhage had been
-
there for 12 years would no longer be in her
-
body Somehow God gave her that and Jesus felt
-
it too. He felt it in his body. Am I right? Remember
-
this story? I mean he stopped in his tracks He
-
said who touched me and the disciples said how
-
can you ask who touched me? There's so many people
-
bumping into he said I don't mean that he said
-
I felt power go out of me He didn't say I had
-
a word of knowledge and he said the spirit spoke
-
to me that happens But it that's not what he
-
that's not what happened there Sometimes he interacts
-
with us in a way that you can feel it So look
-
for a sense of the communication of God the night
-
either as a word or a touch or something like
-
that and then the end, what we're gonna wanna
-
do is we wanna seal that with, I just call it
-
an amen. Just seal what God is doing within you.
-
When you say, well how do you seal it? You seal
-
it by agreeing with him. What I wanna do at the
-
end is not lay hands on people for healing, I
-
wanna lay hands on people and amen with them.
-
I wanna seal that in Jesus' name that this thing
-
will be established before the presence of the
-
Almighty God and will be shoved in the devil's
-
face. All right, so we'll do that move that a
-
little later and those you that already have
-
the touch of God from previous services get ready
-
to launch that right out first but the truth
-
is is all this service long God has been healing
-
people some of you got it right now if you'll
-
look for it you'll see the change or you'll notice
-
it as the service progresses that is One of the
-
ways the Holy Spirit does it so are you ready
-
for God's Word tonight? Good because of the time
-
factor. I'm not gonna read I have three stories
-
in the Bible, I'm not gonna read them, I'm just
-
gonna tell you of the location. You can look
-
at them, they're there, many of you already know
-
them. But here's the approach I'm taking. I wanna
-
talk about three things that people in the Bible
-
did who got a miracle. Three things that people
-
in scriptures did. And watch where I'm coming,
-
who got a miracle. See sometimes we're getting,
-
we're not getting results because it's not that
-
we're not asking questions, we're asking the
-
wrong questions. Here's a common question that
-
a person will ask within the household of God
-
when they are not getting something they want
-
to get. They ask the question, why am I not getting
-
it? How come I don't get healed? How come when
-
I get prayed for, I don't get the results that
-
he or she has? Why is it that when I call upon
-
the Lord, I don't see the effect? And that's
-
the problem. The question is wrong. See, because
-
if you get the answer to the question, why is
-
it that I'm not getting healed, in the end, this
-
is what you'll know. You'll know how not to get
-
healed. Well, great. We need to stop asking the
-
wrong question. We need to start asking the right
-
questions That is how can I get healed? All right
-
instead of how come I'm not getting that right
-
does that make any sense to you at all? I'm not
-
sure if that was great English But anyhow did
-
you catch what I'm what I'm trying to say So
-
what I want to do is I want to take it from this
-
direction I want to look at you know three things
-
that people did in the scripture that actually
-
got their miracle. So if you need a miracle from
-
God, quit going down to the religious bookstore
-
and buying the book 10 Top Reasons Why People
-
Don't Get Miracles. Find the book that says the
-
10 Top Reasons Why People Will Get a Miracle
-
of God, and that's how I'm gonna approach it.
-
The first one is a Syrian general by the name
-
of Naaman. You're familiar with him in scripture?
-
He was a man, and the story is found in 2 Kings
-
chapter five and the opening 14 verses. And this
-
is what you have with Naaman. I'm gonna summarize
-
it and then explain it. What Naaman did that
-
helped him get a miracle is he humbled himself.
-
Someone say humbled. He humbled himself and did
-
what the prophet instructed him to do the story
-
in scripture quickly says something like this
-
Naaman was a Syrian general who had many times
-
rated Israel and as a result He had a young lady
-
in his household. That was a slave girl that
-
served him now She seen that her master had a
-
condition called leprosy Which isn't very well
-
known anymore in the world, especially in the
-
United States. So I will I will parallel it It's
-
not the same but I will parallel it Leprosy in
-
that day was similar to AIDS of this day. It
-
was a terrifying disease, it was an incurable
-
disease, and it was a disease that would bring
-
you down to a horrible death. And so this man
-
has this plague. Now she looks at him and she
-
says, if you only could get to the prophet in
-
Israel, you could be healed of this disease.
-
Wow, Naaman hears that and he thinks I'm going
-
to find this guy. But he takes a route which
-
is politically correct but not smart. What he
-
does is he decides to go to the king of Israel.
-
He sends him a letter. He comes there with a
-
huge entourage. Now you gotta remember, this
-
is a Syrian general who's already caused Israel
-
a lot of headaches. But he comes to the king
-
and he says, I'm coming to you that I might be
-
healed of my leprosy. If you remember the story
-
the king of Israel reads that and he says what
-
is this guy up to and what's going on in his
-
head? How can I or anyone heal him of leprosy
-
really what he's doing is he's coming strategically
-
just to start a fight but But now Elijah hears
-
about what's going on and he says, would you
-
send him to me that he may know that there is
-
a prophet of God in Israel. And so Naaman now
-
takes the trip to the prophet's home. Now when
-
he gets to Elijah's home, he comes with all this
-
pomp and fancy. He's got all these guys traveling
-
with him. He's got camel loads of gifts to give
-
the guy. I mean, he comes to do it upright and
-
the prophet, watch this, I paraphrase it just
-
a little bit, but he doesn't even get out of
-
his lazy boy recliner. He doesn't even put his
-
remote down to his Sony television set. He just
-
simply says to one of his servants, would you
-
please go outside and tell the general to go
-
jump in the lake? Now again, I'm paraphrasing
-
it just a little bit. I got that out of the message
-
translation, no. I really boo boo, I know. But
-
let me say to you in all fairness, that's the
-
way that Naaman took it. That's how he felt about
-
it. He was really offended. He said, who is this
-
guy? I come all this way. I've got all these
-
gifts for him. And he won't even come out of
-
the house and talk with me. He sends some servant
-
out here. They're telling me to go dip myself
-
seven times in the Jordan River. He said, man,
-
we got cleaner rivers than this in my own country.
-
Why would I go? And he's really mad. And he actually
-
says, I thought he would come out and he would
-
wave his hand over the spot and he would call
-
upon the name of his God, but he has none of
-
that. I mean, he goes, he's offended. He huffs
-
it out of there. He is mad. And finally, as he's
-
traveling, one of his own come to him and says,
-
General, you know, If this man would have asked
-
you to do something extraordinarily difficult,
-
you would have given it everything you had to
-
make it, but all he does is tell you to do something
-
simple. Just go dip yourself seven times in that
-
river. Can't you do that? Hello. And he gets
-
through that the real message is he needs to
-
humble himself. So I can do that. So he goes
-
to the river. Can you feel his situation? The
-
prophet didn't say if you dip yourself down in
-
there, you'll be healed. He said you got to go
-
down seven times I'm sure there's a lot more
-
to that what we're gonna discuss tonight, but
-
I'll tell you what was going on There was more
-
than just getting wet As he walked on in that
-
river you understand He's got all these other
-
all these other guys with him right now and they
-
watch this they watch this great Syrian general
-
Walk down into that dirty river and he dips,
-
you know, I can see him just kind of look He
-
dips himself down. He comes up. He looks no different
-
at all He dips himself down again, he comes up,
-
he looks no different at all. Geez. He dips himself
-
down again, he comes up, he looks, there's no
-
change at all. I can see these guys on the shore.
-
They don't say it right in front of his face
-
because he's the general, but when he goes down
-
there saying, you know what's happening, don't
-
you? That is right over there. He's making a
-
fool out of him is what he's doing. Well, we've
-
come in and raided their land. Now, he's got
-
him, he won't even come out and say hi to the
-
guy. He just tells me to go jump in the lake
-
and he's down there now and look at him He's
-
going up and down up and up up up and out look
-
at him bobbing up and down down there Don't you
-
know that was a humiliating moment? He kept going
-
down until that seventh time and when he came
-
up He was completely healed You know what Naaman
-
did? He humbled himself Can I tell you something
-
the thing that stands between most people and
-
their miracle isn't the devil It's the guy they
-
see in the mirror every day when they get up
-
Are you still in the house I Think our pride
-
Separates us oftentimes From the touch of God
-
in our life on every kind of level The Bible
-
says if you'll humble yourself under the mighty
-
hand of God He will exalt you in due time And
-
I know and do you understand the biblical process
-
for humbling is always your part? Not his part.
-
Now I'm not saying God can't do that, but see
-
what we do is we take a lot of scripture and
-
we reverse it, and this is one of those, you
-
know, we do things like this. We promote ourselves,
-
we pump ourselves up, we make ourselves known,
-
we make sure everybody hears about what we are
-
and what we have done, and then we pray, but
-
oh God, keep us humble. When actually it's just
-
the opposite. God says, why don't you let me
-
take care of the exalting and you take care of
-
the humbling. That's how it works, and that's
-
how it works best. That's how you say, Dale,
-
you're saying that God can't humble a man? No,
-
I'm not saying God can't humble a man. You just
-
really don't want him to do that. You're way
-
better off taking care of it as yourself. You
-
really are. You say that you can't exalt yourself?
-
No, you could, but you really don't want to do
-
that either. He can take care of that much better.
-
He really can. He can take care of it much better.
-
In Amon, he... He learned the key of humbling
-
himself. As a result, he simply got a miracle
-
of God. Now, in John chapter nine and the open
-
seven verses, we have another man that got a
-
miracle from God. It's a man that was blind.
-
He's been blind from birth. And I'll summarize
-
it now and then I'll explain it. What this guy
-
did is he obeyed the simple thing Jesus told
-
him to do. No indication that he had to humble
-
himself, but he just obeyed. Naaman had to humble
-
himself. The blind man, all he had to do was
-
just do it. He just had to obey what the Lord
-
told him to do. The story's told by John. how
-
the disciples are traveling on the road and they
-
come across the man that's blind. Now, he's not
-
just blind, he's evidently known. I say he's
-
known because, I mean, it doesn't take much to
-
figure a guy is blind, but they know his case
-
history. They know he's been blind from birth
-
and they know his parents and they actually ask
-
the Lord the question because from their mind's
-
eye someone did something wrong from the bee
-
that way so they assuming that say to Jesus Lord
-
whose sin this man or his parents that he was
-
born blind so they know a whole lot about the
-
gentleman. Now if you go through the story you'll
-
find out that actually it wasn't an issue of
-
that man's sin or his parents but Jesus said
-
the works of God really should be manifest in
-
him and so then he spits all over the ground
-
and he makes of that, makes mud of that, and
-
he throws it right in the guy's eyes. Boy, that's
-
neat, isn't it? And then when he gets, then this
-
doesn't, that's not the half of it. Then what
-
he does is he tells the guy to go wash it out,
-
but he sends him to some place that's not right
-
there. Are you with this thing yet? You know,
-
we get all, we put Jesus right into a certain
-
mold, don't we? That this is how he behaves,
-
and it's always very nice. Isn't it? It makes
-
us comfortable, very happy. This is the real
-
God right here, you know? But just think about
-
this. And I could imagine, there were probably
-
some people in that crowd, maybe that didn't
-
know the Lord and know who he was and see him
-
do something like that. And I could hear a couple
-
of critical people. You know where they're from.
-
They're from the church right down the road,
-
not here. But you know the church I'm talking
-
about. And they would say this. Now you know
-
that isn't God. That isn't. They don't even have
-
good English. They'd say, you know this ain't
-
God. Because, There was a real man of God down
-
the road here a little while ago, and there were
-
two blind men, do you remember the story, that
-
were following him, and he went into a house,
-
and they came in right behind him, and he just
-
asked them very politely, what do you want me
-
to do for you? And they told him, and he said,
-
then according to your faith be done to you.
-
And he just touched their eyes very gently, like
-
a real gentleman, and they instantly got their
-
sight. None of this spit in the ground, make
-
mud, throw it in a guy's face, and tell him to
-
wash it out down the road somewhere else. You
-
know that's not God. Are you okay out there?
-
And if you really think I'm talking about a certain
-
church on the road, I know nothing about your
-
town whatsoever. I'm just working here a little
-
bit. Anyhow, here we go. I wonder what that trip
-
was like. He's got this drying mud in his face
-
and he can't find the way. Someone's got to take
-
him. What's that all about? Hmm. I don't know
-
if this happened, but he is pretty well known.
-
People know his case background. I can see two
-
guys grab him, one by each arm, say, let's take
-
him to that pool or Shiloh and see what happens.
-
They start walking him down the road. As he goes
-
down the road, someone sees him. And they say,
-
hey, how you doing? Oh, pretty good. Say, what's
-
that you got all over your face? Oh, well, I
-
was down the road here a piece and some guy spit
-
all over the ground through mud and my face told
-
me if I'd wash it out, I'd see. Oh. Getting desperate,
-
aren't we? You know what that guy had to do?
-
He just had to obey. If that happened, and I
-
know people, you know them too. They'll try to
-
talk you out of your miracle before you get to
-
it. Whatever he's told you to do, they'll tell
-
you how bizarre, how crazy, how weird, how it
-
makes no sense. That can't be God. But somewhere
-
along the line, you just gotta make up your mind,
-
I'm just gonna do what he told me to do. I'm
-
gonna do what he told me to do, whether my friends
-
like it, I'm gonna do what he told me to do,
-
whether my head agrees with it, or it can make
-
sense. I'm just going to obey him. Here's some
-
simple truths about obedience. Obedience never
-
says, I'll do it, Lord, when I'm ready. That's
-
not what obedience says it just does what he
-
tells us to do obedience Obedience never says
-
I'll do it. I will do that but but but but but
-
my way That's not what obedience does obedience
-
Doesn't even say I'll do it if it makes sense
-
If you can explain why I can't tell you how often
-
God has just simply said they'll do this sometimes
-
later on I understood why Sometimes later on
-
it made sense too Sometimes it didn't when he
-
first said it to me. I just didn't get it But
-
I just went ahead and did what he told me to
-
do That's all just did it Did it? I remember
-
when I was young Lord taught me that just as
-
a young child when I first started the ministry
-
I told you I was 15 years of age. I didn't even
-
have a driver's license and no I didn't drive
-
someone else was doing the driving but but I
-
was traveling with a singing group from a Bible
-
college and and central, Missouri I didn't sing,
-
they figured that out fast. But I didn't know
-
how to believe God for miracles and declare His
-
word, so that was my part. I would preach and
-
minister healing, they would sing. My brother
-
got married that summer, so I had to fly back
-
to New York. We were traveling throughout the
-
Midwest. I flew back to... part of the wedding
-
party, and then I was getting just a bus, right,
-
because it wasn't that far, just to go back into
-
Ohio and catch up with the group. No, I was catching
-
a flight, that's what it was, a flight to go
-
back. And I remember that having not a lot of
-
experience in traveling at that time, I didn't
-
think much about booking the flight ahead of
-
time. So the next day I just got up, picked up
-
the phone and called the airport and said I'd
-
like to get a flight. out of Buffalo into the
-
Mansfield area and they said, oh we're all, we're
-
full, we're completely full. But the word of
-
the Lord had come to me just before I picked
-
the phone up and he said get out of town today.
-
So when I picked up the phone they told me it
-
was completely full and my parents were there
-
in the room at that time because that was in
-
the days, and does anyone remember when telephones
-
were actually attached to the wall? Remember
-
that they actually had a wire. Oh, this is the
-
truth. I know everybody under 40 say no, you're
-
kidding Yeah, no, it's truth. You had to go to
-
one place on the planet to make a call in your
-
house That's where it was, you know, so anyhow
-
So they overheard the whole conversation when
-
I hung up the phone and they and I remember my
-
dad said well I guess you know, we'll have to
-
try for a flight tomorrow So no I says we're
-
flying out today and my mother said behold it
-
didn't they just tell you that there are no more
-
flights I see how that's what they said, but
-
the spirit told me to go All right, so now you
-
know I am a crackpot right there, huh? But that's
-
what I said He told me to go and it was about
-
a 45 minute drive to get to the airport I said,
-
so let's let's go. Well, they were my parents
-
my god They were tremendously gracious. So they
-
got me in the car and we drove on up there and
-
I remember when I went to the ticket desk and
-
and and I said to the person I'd like to have
-
a ticket to fly out today into Ohio and they
-
said Oh where we are completely booked. There
-
are no flights left or seats left on a plane
-
for today I said could you mind would you mind
-
telling me where the gate is? And they said when
-
that was back in the days when you could really
-
go to the gate I know some of you say, no, that's
-
not possible. Yeah, you could, you could just
-
go to the gate. So I said, just, would you mind
-
telling me where the gate is? So I went to the
-
gate, and I went up to the gate, and the person
-
there, I said, I'd like a ticket to get on the
-
plane. They said, oh my, the plane's completely
-
full. I said, well, I'll tell you what, I'll
-
be sitting right over there, and before the plane
-
takes off, you'll want to call me. And I just,
-
I'm 15 years old. And my parents are standing
-
there saying, that's not our kid, that's not
-
our kid. No, they really weren't. And we just
-
went over there and sat down and then just before
-
they flew, they called me over and said, oh boy,
-
we happen to have a seat open. Oh my. Now what
-
was that? What was that? He said, oh, you had
-
great faith. No, you know what it was? I was
-
just learning to be obedient. He said, go. And
-
the seat opened. You say, oh well, it was by
-
chance. Well, guess what? I could stand here
-
the rest of the night and tell you more by chances.
-
That have happened to me my whole life through
-
when I've just listened to what he said and the
-
door would open the door Would open the door
-
would open see I'm talking about it in far as
-
far as healing but the truth is this one I'm
-
teaching you will work in every area of your
-
life if you'll just learn to obey People get
-
miracles when they humble themselves people get
-
miracles when they just do What he tells them
-
to do and by the way you'll find like in the
-
case of Naaman that he'll never tell you to do
-
something That you have to be Superman to do
-
He'll just tell you something simple It's an
-
issue of obedience not of accomplishment Yeah
-
All right, here's the last one. It's found in
-
the Gospel of Luke, the eighth chapter. The story's
-
told in verse 43 to 48. We've actually referred
-
to it a moment ago. And this is a woman who had
-
a hemorrhage for 12 years. And let me tell you
-
what she did. This woman that had the incurable
-
hemorrhage pushed through. Would someone say
-
pushed through? She pushed through. Naaman had
-
to humble himself. The blind man, he had to obey.
-
The woman that had the hemorrhage of blood, the
-
issue of blood, she simply had to push through.
-
The story is told that Jesus is on his way to
-
the home of a very important man to heal his
-
only daughter who is dying. A tremendous crowd
-
is following him, a simple unnamed woman with
-
a disease for 12 years that was causing her to
-
hemorrhage. pushed her way through that crowd
-
just to touch the hem of his clothes. She said
-
within herself, if I can just touch the hem of
-
his garment, I shall be made whole. That's what
-
she said. Now, to get through to him, she had
-
to push through that crowd. And may I suggest
-
to you, because you know the story, I'm gonna
-
suggest to you, and I think you'll see it's pretty
-
obvious, she had to do more than push through
-
a crowd of people. She had to push through her
-
disappointments. She's had this thing for 12
-
years. She has heard time after time, here's
-
a guy with a solution, here's a person with a
-
cure, here's a guy with a fix. and she has gone
-
to physician after physician after physician.
-
She has spent the wealth of money she had right
-
down to nothing. No one has been able to help
-
her and she hasn't even plateaued with it. She's
-
now broke and she's getting worse. I'm gonna
-
suggest to you that after 12 years of dealing
-
with the same problem and getting worse and having
-
tried everything you ever heard of to get well
-
and none of it has happened, you got disappointments
-
all over you. and most people are ready to throw
-
the towel in. But she pushed through that disappointment
-
and said if I can just touch him, just the border
-
of his government. She wasn't asking for his
-
attention, she wasn't asking for him to pray
-
over her, she wasn't even asking for him to look
-
at her. She actually snuck up from behind and
-
just touched. the border of his garment. She
-
said, if that's all I can do, I will be made
-
well. Here's a woman that learned how to push
-
through her times of disappointments and her
-
many failures to getting well. Can I suggest
-
to you that she had to push through the laws
-
and the rules of her culture that would have
-
kept her from coming to Jesus. If you know something
-
about Jewish law at that point in time, with
-
the condition that she was in, she was not allowed
-
to be out in public. And she definitely was not
-
allowed to be in physical contact with other
-
people. That would risk her very life, even a
-
stoning. She had no business moving out through
-
that crowd. Some of you are gonna have to push
-
through your disappointments if you're gonna
-
get miracles from God. And some of you are gonna
-
have to push through some of the religious junk.
-
that would stand between you and Jesus. And believe
-
me, that's a big deal right now in the earth.
-
They may not be Jewish laws that people are dealing
-
with, but Christians have worked out their own
-
laws. That will keep you from getting right through
-
to heaven some of them have to do with the cultural
-
issues that we deal with they're not even necessarily
-
religious issues, but there are cultural things
-
that we have that separate us from getting through
-
and touching the master and and if you're going
-
to experience a miracle from God and some cases
-
you're going to have to push through that kind
-
of thing and I suggest to you that she had to
-
push through people and by that I don't just
-
mean their bodies I'm talking about the fear
-
of men you see people will stand in the way of
-
of you getting through to Jesus, but only if
-
you let them. Now I'm just going to stretch it
-
a little bit here tonight because this is my
-
last service and I get to fly away. But I have,
-
I've not been around forever, but in the last
-
40 some years I have heard some stuff. from church
-
people and from people who don't go to church
-
anymore. And I've heard this stuff of, you know
-
I can't worship and I'm not going to church anymore.
-
I can't serve God because I got hurt. Excuse
-
me, but I'm from New York and I'm very cold.
-
I got hurt by that usher. He would not let me
-
sit where I wanted to sit. I got hurt by that
-
Sunday school teacher, that small group leader,
-
by that preacher, by that, you know, they weren't
-
kind. They didn't shake my hand. They didn't
-
love on me. They didn't come in time when I called.
-
Let me explain something to you. Can I tell you
-
something? You can treat me like a piece of dirt.
-
You can walk over me. You can bad mouth me. You
-
can run my family down. You can tell lies about
-
me. You can do whatever you want to do. but I'm
-
just not gonna go to hell over you. I'm still
-
gonna serve the Lord. That's just the way it
-
comes down. You can be as rude as you want, really,
-
as unkind and uncaring, but I'm still gonna serve
-
him. All right, I'm through with that. Just a
-
thought, she had to push through people. People
-
who would have looked at her and said you have
-
no business coming to him. Look at you, look
-
at the condition you're in, you're unclean. He's
-
on his way to the home of a very important man
-
to heal his little girl that's ready to die.
-
And who are you to come up here and take even
-
one moment of his time? Do you hear what I'm
-
really saying? That's what was coming. She had
-
to push through that, because you know that was
-
going through her mind. You know she had a deal
-
with that voice that was saying to her you are
-
not worthy You have no place you're way out of
-
order all of the religious culture. You know
-
has told you that what you're doing is wrong
-
and Who are you? This in even in Scripture unnamed
-
girl That would press through to him But she
-
did press through didn't she? She got past all
-
of that I'm gonna ask you something. What are
-
you willing to push past? What are you willing
-
to push past? See, I made up my mind. I said
-
it real crass just a moment ago, but I'll push
-
past anything to get through to him. I will.
-
I'm not gonna let anyone, anything, any ideology
-
or religions keep me from who Jesus really is.
-
Wow. Let me give you one last thought on this.
-
I'll tell you something else she had to push
-
through. She had to push through her fear of
-
declaring, I got it. It's mine. And confessing
-
to what the power of God had done. You see, she,
-
like us, had to own it. She had, if you're ever,
-
listen, you know that, even if you're born again,
-
you know what I'm talking about. Let the redeemed
-
of the Lord say so. That's what the Bible says.
-
There's a purpose in why that we are declaring
-
that, because it is in the declaration, in the
-
confession of it, that we come to the place of
-
ownership of what God has done, you see? And
-
that's how these things get sealed in an individual's
-
life. One's confession doesn't actually create
-
the miracle. That's God's part, but our confession
-
establishes it as being ours. it brings us into
-
the place of ownership. Did that make sense to
-
you? She got her miracle when she pushed through
-
her obstacles and confessed her miracle. If you
-
remember, when Jesus stopped, when she touched
-
him, right? Just touched the border of his clothes
-
from behind. When he stopped at that moment,
-
he said, who touched me? Now, why did he do that,
-
all right? Why, because he was bringing her to
-
a point of sealing this thing. And if you'll
-
notice, I tell you, she had to push through,
-
making the confession to it. We know that because
-
he had to push for her to come forward. The disciples
-
stepped up. They're the ones who said there's
-
people touching you on every side How can you
-
say who touched me and he says no, you don't
-
understand. I'm not talking about someone physically
-
touching me He says I felt and the King James
-
uses this language as as I felt virtue go out
-
of me the word virtue There is the Greek word
-
do to miss which is power supernatural miraculous
-
power He said I felt power go out of me now She
-
felt the very same thing as the Bible says it
-
that when she touched him that the fountain of
-
her blood and I used the King Jamie English again
-
the fountain of her blood dried up and she felt
-
in her body she was healed of that plague. She
-
could tell it because she could feel it. Something
-
happened between both of them, bang, just like
-
that, and he said, I wanna know who did it. And
-
he had to push for it, and finally the scripture
-
says that she came trembling before him and told
-
him all the truth. So I know she had to push
-
through this thing. Many people are in that way
-
right to this very hour, where they can tell
-
that God is doing something in their life, but
-
everything in them wants to put a cap on it and
-
say don't talk about it. Let's give it a month
-
and see. And if it's still that way after a month,
-
then we'll give glory to him. Then we'll agree
-
with him. Here's the problem with that. You miss
-
the window in the moment of your miracle. Most
-
of you, you that are saved understand this, that
-
when he convicted you of sin, when he called
-
you to repentance, you couldn't sit there and
-
say, okay, I really feel the convicting power
-
of God. Well, I think it's the convicting power
-
of God. I'll tell you, I'll wait for 10 days
-
and if I still feel this way, then I'll call
-
Jesus Lord in my life. You know good and well
-
you would have missed that moment. That window
-
was there, the dealing of God was there, and
-
the moment to seal what Calvary had provided
-
for you had now come. And you needed to step
-
up to the plate and say, this is mine. I buy
-
into this, I receive this. Are you catching my
-
language? I own this thing right now. He is my
-
Lord. Not he is the Savior, he is my Savior.
-
Not he is Lord, he is my Lord. You take that
-
into that personal sense and it seals that thing
-
in your life. She had to push through to come
-
to that point and say, it's mine. This happened
-
to me. And when she did that, then he finished
-
the rest of it and told her, daughter, go your
-
way. and you're healed of the plague. What a
-
marvelous thing is that thing was sealed within
-
her life. This is what people in scripture did.
-
that actually got miracles of God. Some of them
-
had to humble themselves, others had to obey.
-
Some of you are gonna get to do both of those,
-
all right? And then some just had to push through.
-
There's no indication that she was in disobedience,
-
neither was the other guy he did obey, but there's
-
nothing like the Lord had instructed her to do
-
this or do that, and we don't have any indication
-
she had to humble herself. She just had to push
-
through what it took to connect and respond.
-
Would you stand with me please all over the room
-
right now.
