And so it's a privilege to have Mark Cargill
-
be with us this morning. I'm gonna let him share.
-
He's the word of the Lord last night, and even
-
this morning, he's got a third part of the word
-
of the Lord. Maybe he'll talk a little bit about
-
what he shared a little bit last night. Go into
-
that as well, Mark, so I'm setting you up here.
-
But anyways, he's a great man of God. Would you
-
give a life Bible welcome to Pastor Mark Cargill?
-
Would you just stand and welcome the man of God
-
as he comes this morning? Thank you so much.
-
Thanks, buddy. Hey, thank you so much. What an
-
honor and privilege to be here with you today.
-
I'm excited about what God is doing here in Life
-
Bible Church. I don't know about you, but this
-
is a good time to be a part of what God's doing,
-
right? And we are delighted to be working in
-
another field in Gilbert, Arizona. as he said,
-
moved down there in 2010. And actually, the journey
-
leading up to that move was about a five -year
-
journey before we actually moved. Everybody say
-
process. There's always a process to the promise.
-
And so that's what we're committing to. And of
-
course, we're now in another phase of the process.
-
By the way, you never get out of process. I drove
-
all that way today to come to hear that. Thank
-
you so much. You're dismissed. Let's pray, Father.
-
We just never get out of it, and yet God is so
-
amazing in the fact that every stage we're in,
-
He seems to kind of make it unique, glorious,
-
powerful, amazing, while at the same time challenging,
-
stretching, and excruciating. You can experience
-
all of those things. Definitely enjoyed what
-
God's doing there. I have five children Oldest
-
is 21 and our youngest is 10 four boys and the
-
last one was a girl and She works it and owns
-
it all the way My wife and I Cheryl and I have
-
been married for 27 years and She's still the
-
love of my life and I date her every week And
-
by the way, if you want to keep going to 27 years,
-
date your wife, guys. What you did to get her
-
is what you need to do to keep her. So I just
-
encourage you to do that. That's free. Just enjoy
-
that later this week. We are excited about what
-
God is doing here, and I've never been here before,
-
and it's been a joy and a privilege to be here.
-
as I was preparing to come and spend time with
-
you, and pray about what I would say, particularly
-
in this month, since it's your anniversary month,
-
12 years, I think you had to give yourself a
-
hand. I mean, man, look what the Lord has done,
-
right? God has done some amazing things, and
-
it's amazing to see what God has done, taking
-
you from where you began to where you are now,
-
and we're excited about even what is in store
-
for you in your future. as I was praying and
-
just asking, God, what would you say to Life
-
Bible Church? What would I be able to bring there
-
that you would want to say to them, encourage
-
them in this stage of their journey? And God
-
really gave me almost like a series of messages.
-
And so I've been preaching each one of those
-
messages in line as God just began to share with
-
me what to do and kind of how to... present it
-
and the whole theme of it is possessing the promises
-
and on the screen behind me you have the the
-
shot of that open door in the middle of the field
-
and I just believe you're in a season where God
-
is taking you to the next level of your purpose
-
and God's promise in your life as a church and
-
how many believe it's also for you personally
-
there's another there's another level of destiny
-
and another level of purpose and another level
-
of God's plan and his fulfillment in your own
-
personal life that he wants to accomplish and
-
to work into your life. And so, last night we
-
talked a little bit about being strong. Talking
-
about the story of Joshua and how God said to
-
him to go into the land and possess it. I promised
-
it to you. In fact, he promised it to Abraham
-
years and years before. And now Joshua is at
-
the moment of possessing it. But Joshua didn't
-
just stand on the banks of the Jordan River and
-
wait for God to do all the heavy lifting. He
-
actually had to go in and do something and possess.
-
the land, possess the promise. And that's what
-
this series is about. So the first thing that
-
God says to Joshua is to be strong. He didn't
-
say, pray more. He didn't say, you know, let's
-
talk to the army about what you want to do, what's
-
the strategy to take the land. He didn't go to
-
all that. The first thing God told him was to
-
be strong. So last night we just really received
-
God's call to be strong and that God is going
-
to strengthen you to do everything that He has
-
for you to do in your future. And it's going
-
to require a lot of strength. I have come to
-
know this, that vision and purpose and promise
-
all have a price tag assigned to it. You're going
-
to get a promise and you're going to go, woo
-
-hoo, yeah, look at that, amazing. I wonder what
-
this costs. Oh my God. That's the cost of that?
-
Is there like a promise sale rack anywhere I
-
could kind of maybe? Go to the Nordstrom Promise
-
Rack and get that out, you know. You'd like to
-
have a little cheaper, but there is a price tag
-
to every promise. And my question to you is,
-
are you willing to pay the price for the promise
-
that God has made to you? Are you willing to
-
do that? Because the promises fulfillment depends
-
on your willingness to pay the price your ability
-
to pay the price is Depended on God's strength
-
coming into you to strengthen you to do what
-
he's called you to do and to pay the price He
-
wants you to pay so we talked about last night
-
And then this morning there is a resistance early
-
in the first service. There's a resistance the
-
enemy has heard the promise The enemy was there
-
when God said This is what I'm going to do, and
-
this is what I want to do with your life. This
-
is what I want to do. The day you were born and
-
God breathed into you the breath of life, the
-
enemy was also present, crafting and designing
-
a plan to destroy your life, to ruin your life,
-
to steal the vision of God for you, to destroy
-
and kill his purpose for your life. John 10,
-
10. That's what Jesus said I've come that you
-
might have life and you might have abundance
-
and that you really in order to have that you've
-
got to overcome the evil one and his plan for
-
you. You've got to overcome every resistance
-
that's going to be thrown in your path and that
-
was the first service this morning. Today at
-
our final time together I want to speak to you
-
about something that is so critical to your future
-
as a church and your future as an individual.
-
And there's a, I've been speaking out of the
-
book of Joshua last night. It's in first service
-
this morning, Nehemiah. I'm gonna go back to
-
Joshua. And I'm gonna talk with you from Joshua
-
chapter five. As Joshua has now led the people
-
of Israel over the Jordan River. They have went
-
into the promised land. And we pick up the story
-
in Joshua chapter five, verse 10. And it says
-
this. Now the children of Israel camped in Gilgal
-
and kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of
-
the month at twilight on the plains of Jericho.
-
And they ate of the produce of the land on the
-
day after the Passover, unleavened bread and
-
parched grain on the very same day. Verse 12,
-
I want you to notice what it says. Then the manna
-
ceased on the day after they had eaten the produce
-
of the land. And the children of Israel no longer
-
had manna, but they ate the food of the land
-
of Canaan that year. I just want to pause for
-
a moment. We'll continue reading in a minute,
-
but I just want to say this. A lot of people
-
like the manna. It's like, oh, yeah, the manna.
-
If we could just get the manna. Woo! Hallelujah,
-
the manna. And the man is wonderful. It's an
-
amazing thing. It's really a miraculous provision
-
of God and what He wants to do in your life.
-
It's His supply and a miracle moment. It's Him
-
coming in. And when you have nothing, He comes
-
in and supplies it. And it's supernatural. Manna
-
was a bread that miraculously appeared on the
-
ground with the dew every morning. And for 40
-
years, it fed the people of Israel in the wilderness.
-
There was no place to grow crops. There was no
-
place to harvest grain. There was no place to
-
grow a... a vineyard or an olive tree or nothing.
-
It was just desert and wasteland and they had
-
nothing to be able to feed themselves and their
-
nation and their children, their families. They
-
had nothing. And God supplied supernaturally
-
from heaven every day the manna. It was the bread
-
of the wilderness. When they went across the
-
Jordan River and they entered into their promised
-
land, they ate of the produce of the land. There
-
was a grain there. There was vineyards there.
-
And they began eating that and they took it in.
-
And when they ate of the food of the land of
-
promise, the manna ceased. This is the thought
-
the Lord spoke into my heart. You're in a season
-
when you no longer need to eat the bread of your
-
past. But you need to eat the feast of your future.
-
of the land is your future. Manna is the food
-
of your past. Manna is what you ate to get to
-
where you are now. But I believe the days of
-
Manna are over for you. And the days of eating
-
from the fruit of the land is now setting in
-
front of you. You need to eat the feast of your
-
future. You need to lay hold of what is there.
-
Let me just say this to you this way. This is
-
what this message is really all about. Feed on
-
your future. The promised land is all about what
-
God had promised them. Now this represents everything
-
that He has been saying for generations. They
-
were in the land of Egypt which is the land of
-
not enough. And God brought them out and brought
-
them through the wilderness. The wilderness represents
-
the land of just enough. And now they've crossed
-
the Jordan River and entered into the promised
-
land and that's the land of more than enough.
-
And it's time for you to eat of the land of your
-
future. To eat from the land of more than enough.
-
It's time to eat and feast on your future. Skip
-
the past. Now it's over. It's done. God's done
-
with that. Let's move on to the new thing that
-
God wants to do and step into our future. Lift
-
up our eyes and see what God wants to do next.
-
And so Joshua chapter 5, moving on into verse
Joshua 5 chapter mention
-
13. It came to pass that when Joshua was by Jericho,
-
that's the first city that they were going to
-
take, Joshua was by Jericho, he lifted his eyes.
-
Everybody say, he lifted his eyes. He lifted
-
his eyes and looked. And behold, a man stood
-
opposite him with his sword drawn in his hand.
-
And Joshua went to him and said to him, are you
-
for us or for our adversaries? And so he, the
-
angel said, No. Which I think is a hilarious
-
answer. So Joshua's going, so what's that mean?
-
No, you're for us? No. No, but as commander of
-
the army of the Lord I have now come. And Joshua
-
fell on his face to the earth and worshiped.
-
and said to him, what does my Lord say to his
-
servant? Then the commander of the Lord's army
-
said to Joshua, take your sandal off your foot
-
for the place where you stand is holy. And Joshua
-
did so. Going into Joshua 6 verse 1, now Jericho
-
was securely shut up because of the children
-
of Israel and none went out and none came in.
-
And then the Lord said to Joshua. So here Joshua's
-
saying, Euphorus, and of course, you know, he
-
says, I'm here to talk to you about some strategy.
-
We're going to talk about, okay, now we're going
-
to possess a promise. What is it do I need to
-
do? What's the first thing the angel says to
-
him when it starts talking about what to do?
-
He says, see, see, I have given you, I've given
-
Jericho into your hand. It's King and the mighty
-
men of valor. It all starts with our ability
-
to see. What do you see? What do you see when
-
you look at your business? What do you see? when
-
you look at your marriage. What do you see when
-
you look at the future of your church? What do
-
you see? The book of Proverbs chapter 29 verse
-
18 in the King James Version says this, where
-
there is no vision, the people will perish. Not
-
about you, but perish means die. Alright? Churches
-
die without vision. Marriages die without vision.
-
Businesses die without vision. Young people die
-
without vision. I got Mormon kids in my city
-
who are committing suicide at incredible rates.
-
Why? Because they have no vision. Oh, they got
-
a system of religion, but they have no vision.
-
They've got all these rules they got to keep,
-
but they have no vision. And I gotta tell you,
-
I was in youth ministry for years and the rules
-
never work with ministry and the young people.
-
Vision works. Give them a reason why they need
-
to do what they do. Vision is what drives them.
-
Vision is still what drives you. You can be 80
-
years old and still sitting in this church today.
-
And I gotta tell you, if there's a vision that's
-
burning in your heart for God's purpose for your
-
life, your eyes will not dim, your strength will
-
stay strong, and you will be like Caleb of old
-
who will say, give me my mountain. Because the
-
power of vision drives this generation. The power
-
of vision drives God's church. And that's why
-
the first thing that God says to Joshua as he
-
gets ready to do what God said for him to do
-
is he said, I want you to see. I want you to
-
see. And he didn't say, see Jericho and all of
-
its big walls. See Jericho and all of its mighty
-
army. See Jericho and how impregnable it is.
-
See Jericho and all of the thousands of men and
-
women who are ready to kill you. No, he said,
-
see, I have given Jericho into your hand. That's
-
what he should see. He should not see his reality.
-
He should see his destiny. And there's a lot
-
of people in this room right now who are living
-
in the limitations of where you are rather than
-
lifting up your eyes and seeing where God wants
-
to take you. And you're bound by the reality
-
of your moment rather than being liberated by
-
the vision of your future. And I want to encourage
-
you, come on. Your ability to thrive and grow
-
and achieve what God wants you to do is found
-
in the vision that could burn in your heart.
-
But if you don't have a vision, you're gonna
-
perish. Your business is gonna perish. Your marriage
-
is gonna perish. Your children are gonna perish.
-
We all gotta have a vision that compels and drives
-
us forward into what God wants us to do for our
-
life. And in order to receive vision, we've got
-
to be looking. We've got to be alert. We've got
-
to be asking. We've got to be seeking. We've
-
got to be wanting for God to reveal something
-
to us. We have got to have our eyes open. And
-
I just have to ask the question, are your eyes
-
even open? Are you even looking? Because some
-
of us are like this. I'm too tired. We've been
-
doing this for a while. Frankly, I'm a little
-
wore out. So if you don't mind, while you talk
-
vision, I'm gonna take a nap. Price tag. What
-
do you see? Here's the big truth behind Proverbs
-
29 18 where what you see directs directs your
-
life what you see directs your life it even impacts
-
whether you're gonna have a life or not and It's
-
gonna impact whether what kind of life you're
-
gonna have You see people that have broken thrashed
-
jacked up lives And they live there and they
-
stay stuck there is because they have a broken,
-
jacked up vision for their life. They're so consumed
-
with what is in their hand, they are not looking
-
and they need to lift up their eyes and see what
-
God has for their future. Get your eyes off what
-
you got in your hand and look what God has in
-
your future. Abraham, in Genesis 13, This is
-
what it says about him in Genesis 13, 14 through
-
17. And the Lord said to Abram after Lot had
-
separated from him, lift your eyes now and look
-
from the place where you are. Where are you?
-
I'm at the place of, I'm maxed out. I don't have
-
any more to give. I'm stretched to the most.
-
Where's the place? Mark, I'm at the place of
-
being struggling with sickness and disease. That's
-
the place I am. No, Mark, I just had a pink slip
-
from work. Man, I got two weeks. I got a severance
-
package. And after that, I don't know what's
-
going to go on. That's the place I'm in. Mark,
-
I was just served papers by my wife. I don't
-
know what to do. Seems like it's over. That's
-
the place I'm in. The Bible says to lift up your
-
eyes from the place where you are and look. Northward,
-
southward, eastward, westward God says, for all
-
the land which you see, for all the land which
-
you see, I give to you and your descendants.
-
What do you see? What kind of church do you see?
-
Do you see a church? that has a little school
-
campus here. You know, you're doing all right,
-
and there's a few services and things. You know,
-
a few people can't get saved a year. You know,
-
it's all right. More status quo than anything,
-
but you know, hey, we're there, and they're friendly,
-
and music's not bad, and pastor's okay. I'm in
-
a series at Hope Church called The Church I See.
-
The church I see. What's the church that you
-
see? You see, I've come here today to tell you,
-
the church that I see here, I'm gonna prophesy
-
here in a few minutes and you're gonna hear some
-
of the things that I've been seeing about this
-
church. But the church that I see here is one
-
full of people. It's one that is all about reaching
-
souls. Somebody said one time to me, Mark, it's
-
not about numbers. And I gotta say, well, you
-
know, it's not that the numbers really matter
-
to the Lord, but the souls do. The third book
-
of the Bible is actually called Numbers. And
-
when Jesus chose His disciples, He didn't chose
-
a few good men. It says He chose twelve. How
-
do they know that? Because somebody counted them.
-
Listen, it is about people. People are the prize
-
and I see a house that's filled for not just
-
one location, but other locations I see a church
-
is thriving with the sound of worship I see people
-
and young people Gathering together in this house
-
full of passion and burning with a heart full
-
of destiny for the plan and purpose of God in
-
their life I see men and women being raised up
-
in lead as leaders in this church being equipped
-
and sent out and doing great things for God I
-
see all kinds of things here and it's absolutely
-
mind -blowing. But if you look at what you have
-
you have in your hand right now, you will never
-
get to where God wants you to go, and it'll all
-
be a phantom promise that you'll never experience
-
because you're always looking at where you are.
-
You gotta lift up your eyes and see, because
-
all the land that you can see, if you can see
-
it, you can do it. If you can't see it, you're
-
not gonna do it. You've got to see it. So I want
-
to give you a few lessons about this. I'm speaking
-
on the subject, lift up your eyes. Because I
-
believe the word of the Lord of this house is
-
you need to think bigger. You need to dream bigger.
-
You need to lift up your eyes. You need to get
-
your eyes off of what you have been doing. What
-
you have been doing is your manna. The day of
-
manna is over. You can't do what you always done
-
and expect to get something different You need
-
now to do something new you need to do something
-
else God is stretching you to believe him for
-
something more He wants you to go into a new
-
level. He wants you to take a new inheritance
-
He wants you to possess a new promise and you
-
have to be able to see where you're going You
-
got to lift up your eyes from where you are in
-
order to go where he wants you to go and so number
-
one in my Lessons on vision here today is that
-
you will go where you're looking. Race car drivers
-
know this. Some of you teenage drivers need to
-
learn this. Oh she fine, she fine, whoa. Race
-
car drivers know this. They know as things are
-
thrown. you know, whirling around and crashing
-
in the front of them and smoking fire and everything,
-
they look where they want to go. And believe
-
it or not, the car goes where you look. No matter
-
how hard the turn, no matter how hard it is,
-
race car drivers know, it will go where you're
-
looking. But you got to be looking there. And
-
it's amazing to me that all of us, sometimes
-
we have this tendency where we're like, don't
-
hit the tree, don't hit the tree, don't hit the
-
tree, bam, we hit the tree. Because you've been
-
thinking about the problem in front of you when
-
you need to be focusing on God's solution instead
-
You gotta start thinking about that. Oh, this
-
is too expensive. No, we'll never be able to
-
do that. We've never done this before Lift up
-
your eyes too many people aren't looking or they're
-
looking in the wrong direction. They're distracted.
-
They got the wrong priorities. This is why Jesus
-
said seek first the kingdom of God. He had to
-
remind people about this because there's a lot
-
of things that are popping up asking for your
-
attention. Let me just put the message on pause
-
and just ask you a question. Why did you get
-
your college degree? Why do you have your job?
-
Why are you going to that job day in and day
-
out, day in and day out, day in and day out?
-
Is it to pay your bills? Is that it? Why did
-
I get my college degree? Some of you are asking
-
yourself actually even right now. Yeah, that's
-
a good question. Why did I get that college degree?
-
It's a yo -slash. Or you could be saying, I'm
-
not even doing anything related to my college
-
degree. What was I thinking? I wasted four years,
-
six years, eight years of my life. You have to
-
connect vision to all of those things for them
-
to really matter. If you go to work just to pay
-
your bills, you're going to work for the wrong
-
reason. If you go to work so that you can earn
-
money to take care of your family and sow seed
-
into the kingdom of God and make that money that
-
you make there, really matter for eternity? Now
-
that's a whole nother thing. It's a whole nother
-
thing. Now you've got vision behind why you work.
-
Now you've got vision behind why you got that
-
degree. But it's gotta be vision driven. It cannot
-
be need based. That's one thing I learned about
-
leadership and that is that there are a lot of
-
people with needs. There are needs everywhere.
-
Everybody's got needs for something. I need this,
-
I need that, I need this, I need that. You're
-
even in a place right now where you have needs
-
and you're going, well, I need this and I need
-
that. And I have this need and I have that need
-
and I really would like to because I need and
-
my needs have needs. Vision helps you get out
-
of your awareness of all that you need. and steps
-
you into the world of all God wants to do. When
-
you live, it's all about me, because it's all
-
about me. It's all about me, Jesus. I'm coming
-
back to the heart of worship. It's all about
-
me. It's all about me, Jesus. All right. If where
-
you are looking is at you, good morning. And
-
how are you? And all you think about is you?
-
Then all you're gonna see at the end of it all
-
is you. And I gotta tell you, that's a lonely
-
destiny. You know what I wanna see? I want to
-
see my kids loving God. I want to see a generation
-
of young people saved and born again, filled
-
with purpose, coming to Hope Church and just
-
pressing into God. I wanna see the nation's largest
-
university campus touch with the power of the
-
Holy Spirit. I wanna see God radically touch
-
the city of Phoenix in a miraculous way. Come
-
on, let your heart burn with vision for this
-
area and for Harrisburg and the surrounding regions.
-
Let your heart get on fire with something bigger
-
than nine to five, nine to five, nine to five.
-
So many of us, this is how we walk. And we pray
-
this prayer, lead me Lord, lead me Lord, lead
-
me Lord. Meanwhile God is going, hey, just lead
-
me Lord. And you're looking at your feet because
-
you're looking at where you are. And it's amazing
-
how many wandering Christians think they're making
-
progress when all they're doing. Lead me Lord,
-
lead me Lord, I want my life to... I want my
-
life to count, Jesus. I want my life to count.
-
But my wife is a loser. And my boss is a moron.
-
And I can't believe my life sucks like this.
-
But I'm just telling you, just lead me, Lord.
-
And God's saying, come on, bro, get your eyes
-
off where you are. And look at the horizon. If
-
anybody's ever went out hiking anywhere and if
-
you're gonna make progress, you gotta look where
-
you're going. Otherwise you'll be wandering around
-
in the woods. Look where you want to go. Number
-
two, get outside your tent. Get outside your
-
tent. Abram was promised by God that he would
-
have a child. He comes up with plan B. Lots of
-
you are guilty. Plan B. Because you're tired
-
of waiting for Plan A. So you come up to those
-
involved in your story and say, I have an idea.
-
Listen. Stay focused on what God told you to
-
do. Stay focused on what his initial vision to
-
you was. Don't get distracted by Plan B. Don't
-
let your patience wear thin and for you to come
-
up with something else. Because in Genesis 15,
-
Abram comes up with plan B. God comes to him
-
and says, listen, it's great, you know, okay,
-
get a kid. Not the one I wanted. And to this
-
day we have problems in the Middle East because
-
of that decision. And so, God comes to Abram
-
and in Genesis 15 verse 5 says, the Lord took
-
Abram outside and said to him, look up. Everybody
-
say look up Look up into the sky and count the
-
stars if you can That's how many descendants
-
you will have and Abraham believed the Lord and
-
the Lord counted him as righteous because of
-
his faith See he took him out the Lord took him
-
outside took him outside. Where where was he
-
before? He was inside the tent He was inside
-
the tent that he made This is what I think I
-
can do. This is what I think I can live where
-
I can live This is what I know about I'm comfortable
-
with this and I'm comfortable with that This
-
is where I know it's all gonna work. This is
-
where I know and God says no no no You can't
-
see What you need to see? staying in here Some
-
of you have built this tent of your circumstances
-
and of your thoughts about what you want your
-
plans It's like the little two -year -old who
-
draws a little picture of what they think they're
-
gonna be when they grow up and then they come
-
to dad and say, daddy, I have a pasture for you.
-
Oh, let me see it. Here it is. So they grab it.
-
That's great. Wonderful. What is it? And then
-
God says, would you like me to show you my? My
-
picture of your destiny. Oh, yeah. Where is it?
-
It's outside. Outside where? It's outside the
-
tent. I don't like going outside the tent. I'm
-
kind of afraid. Well, you're not going to see
-
it if you don't come outside the tent. Can I
-
look out, just peek out the window? No, you have
-
to come outside. If you will get out of your
-
comfort zone, your tent, your habits, your limitations
-
of what you've crafted for yourself and what
-
you think your life should be like, you would
-
get out and just begin to lift up your eyes.
-
You're gonna see something totally mind -blowing
-
because God's wonderful masterpiece of your destiny
-
is incredible. It's mind -boggling. It's staggering.
-
You wouldn't believe it when you saw it. Get
-
outside your tent. Number three. You must lift
-
up your eyes to get your miracle. You must lift
-
up your eyes to get your miracle. In Acts chapter
-
3 verse 1, there's a lame man, a crippled man,
-
sitting at the gate, beautiful. And Peter comes
-
up to him and sees him there. Spirit of the Lord
-
speaks to him and says, I want to heal that guy.
-
John is with him and so he comes up to the guy
-
and he says to him, by the way, the guy's going,
-
alms, alms, you know, he's looking around for
-
a handout. Peter comes and the first thing Peter
-
says to him is, look at us. Look at us. And the
-
Bible says, and the cripple lifted his eyes and
-
looked at Peter expecting to receive something.
-
Even misguided expectation can be honored by
-
the Lord. That guy thought he was gonna get money
-
and instead he didn't get any money, but he got
-
healing. And from that moment on he was able
-
to work and make all the money that he ever wanted
-
in his life because he was healed. And a lot
-
of us think we want this from God when God really
-
has this from us, but we can't see it because
-
we're not looking his way. And if we would just
-
look at him and have some expectation, even misguided
-
as it may be, he will honor that and he will
-
help you get out of your place of crippled potential
-
and step into God's plan and purpose for your
-
life. Number four, you must lift up your eyes
-
to fulfill your purpose, because you cannot fulfill
-
your purpose with your limited perspective of
-
what you have known and where you are. You have
-
to lift up your eyes to do what God wants you
-
to do. Did you know that Jesus Christ, the Son
-
of God, in John 17, as he was praying, one of
-
the final things he did, said this in verse one,
-
Jesus spoke these words. He lifted up His eyes
-
to heaven. He lifted up His eyes to heaven and
-
said, Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your
-
Son that Your Son also may glorify You. Jesus,
-
the Son of God, even had to lift up His eyes
-
to heaven so He could get His vision right about...
-
the moment he's about to endure the days of agony
-
he's about to endure that night and all the next
-
day he's going to be horribly treated and brutalized
-
and crucified for the sins of all the world knowing
-
that The Father is going to place all that and
-
in His righteousness turn His back on Him. He's
-
going to die forsaken. He's going to die alone.
-
He's going to die naked. And He knows there's
-
no way on earth I'm going to be able to do that.
-
I'm God. There's no way I can do that without
-
lifting up my eyes. And in His moment of prayer,
-
He lifts up His eyes and says, Father, let me
-
see. Why is this I'm doing this? In Hebrews 12,
-
says that Jesus, for the joy set before Him,
-
endured the cross. What was the joy? What could
-
possibly Jesus see that would make him joyful
-
to endure the cross? He lifted up his eyes. I
-
think when he lifted up his eyes, he saw you.
-
He saw you forgiven. He saw you free. He saw
-
you pressing into a divine purpose for your life.
-
He saw you passionately going after God's plan
-
He saw you saved cleansed freed from your addiction
-
Delivered from the demonic oppression set free
-
from depression and all the different burdens
-
of your life He saw you with a heart That's burning
-
with purpose and you are with your eyes alive
-
with the fire of the Holy Spirit Gazing into
-
your future not stuck in your past and eating
-
the manna of the wilderness but driving forward
-
eating of the the land of your future. Jesus
-
lifted up His eyes. This last thing, I'm gonna
-
end with this. God's vision is always bigger
-
than you think. So what you think you know about
-
God's plan for this church, it's bigger than
-
you think. It's bigger than you think. God's
-
plan for your life? It's bigger than you think.
-
One of the reasons, by the way, he doesn't show
-
it all to you at one time, two reasons. Number
-
one, it'll make you proud. And you go, who do
-
you mean? Or you'll go, no way. Not in a million
-
years. I had no way I'm gonna do that. There's
-
no way I'm gonna nah, nah, nah, no. Told the
-
phone. No, uh -uh. I ain't doing that. Mm -mm,
-
mm -mm. Oh, no, you didn't. So, he reveals it
-
to you a little bit at a time. But Ephesians
-
3 .20 and 21 says this. Ephesians 3. 20 and 21
-
says, now to him who is able to do exceedingly,
-
abundantly, above all you could ask or think
-
according to the power that works in you by Christ
-
Jesus, he says, the power that works in us, to
-
him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to
-
all generations forever and ever, amen. See,
-
God's got a vision and a destiny for this church.
-
God's got a vision and a plan for you and for
-
your life. And I see God working and He's raising
-
up in this moment and in this season a church
-
that's going to have influence in this region.
-
It's not a church that's going to be limited
-
to just the four walls of this place, but it's
-
going to be a church that's going to have impact
-
into a radius of a region that is going to be
-
a glory and an honor to the name of Jesus Christ.
-
You're gonna be a church that's not gonna be
-
just limited to one location, but you're gonna
-
have multiple locations as God stretches you
-
out. You're gonna be a church that plants churches,
-
not only in this area, but in the regions beyond
-
and in the nations of the earth. For God has
-
put a calling and a mantle upon this church to
-
be an apostolic place of sending. And He's gonna
-
raise up and He's gonna send out. And He's gonna
-
raise up and He's gonna send out. And He's gonna
-
raise up and He's gonna send out. And there are
-
gonna be people that are gonna be raised up and
-
they're gonna stay and build. They're gonna be
-
raised up and they're gonna stay and build. Because
-
you can't send out from a weak foundation. It
-
has to export from a place of strength. And God's
-
going to cause this house to be a strong place.
-
He's going to cause the reach of this house and
-
this church to extend into the regions beyond
-
and even into the area of Eugene. I saw in my
-
spirit a great and powerful ministry on the campus
-
of the university and God's gonna raise up an
-
outreach into that place and he's gonna cause
-
students and he's gonna cause athletes and teachers
-
and faculty to be turned to the gospel of Jesus
-
Christ and contrary to their education and contrary
-
to their teaching and contrary to their degree
-
and contrary to the humanistic cultural impact
-
of the things they've learned. They're gonna
-
turn their faith and their eyes to the living
-
God. And contrary to everything they've ever
-
known and everything they've ever taught and
-
everything they've ever been learned, they're
-
gonna see Jesus and they're gonna turn to him.
-
You're gonna have an impact on that place and
-
out of that region is gonna come some strong
-
young leaders Pastor you're gonna experience
-
an influx in the days that are ahead of young
-
people Coming out of University and they would
-
have moved back home They would have gone here
-
and they would have gone there But somehow for
-
some reason they want to partner with you as
-
they would have in that time while training of
-
being in University They're also gonna be training
-
here in the church and they're gonna get your
-
heart for the kingdom They're gonna get your
-
heart musicians are gonna come to the house You're
-
going to have a whole host of young people and
-
young college -age people who are going to come
-
into this church. You're going to have a, it's
-
almost like you're going to have so many musicians,
-
you're going to not want, you don't know what
-
to do with them all. I wish I had that problem.
-
Please pray for me. Touch out your hand right
-
now. You're not gonna know what to do with them
-
on but God's gonna raise you up. He's gonna give
-
you the ability to train. He's gonna give you
-
a strategy on how to do it. He's gonna hook you
-
up with other people in the body of Christ that
-
are gonna help him put into the vision of the
-
house and you are gonna be able to raise up young
-
men and women who are gonna be world -class musicians
-
doing world -class ministry in worship in a place
-
that's a bunch of farmland. But there's gonna
-
be a song of heaven. in the countryside of this
-
place. That's gonna come out from this place
-
and it's gonna touch other places, other regions
-
and other nations of the world. You're gonna
-
write songs that are gonna go to other places.
-
You're gonna write songs that are gonna touch
-
other lands and other nations. God's gonna put
-
upon you the menstrual anointing and you're gonna
-
reach out through music and through the penning
-
of songs and you're gonna reach other nations
-
and lands with the recorded music and message
-
of the worship of the house. God's gonna put
-
a writing anointing upon you, and you're gonna
-
write books, and you're gonna experience a release
-
of a, the pen of a ready writer's gonna just
-
flow out of you. God's gonna give you a creative
-
mind to see what to write next, and you're gonna
-
write materials. And I see young people coming
-
here, even going for a few years to college,
-
or maybe before they go to college, they're gonna
-
come here, and God's gonna raise up a place of
-
training and ministry in this house, where young
-
people are gonna come, and even older folks later
-
in their seasons of life, they're gonna be trained
-
in an. Institute a Bible Institute here where
-
they're gonna be equipped and trained for the
-
work of the ministry Because they can't go out
-
into the kingdom and they can't go out in the
-
world Without having an equipping from the Holy
-
Spirit and from the man and woman of God and
-
from the house of the Lord They can't go out
-
without having some kind of equipping taking
-
place and God's gonna raise up in this place
-
an Institute a school of some kind of ministry
-
and training and he's gonna cause those people
-
to go out and he's gonna cause them to stay he's
-
gonna cause the house of the Lord to be built
-
and the of God's gonna come upon you, and you're
-
gonna know what it is to build a church. A church
-
that has been a church of your dreams. It's not
-
a church that's been a church of your past, and
-
it's not a church that has been a church of your
-
present, but it's a church that is a church of
-
something that burns down in here that you cannot
-
articulate, that you cannot even give words to,
-
but you know that it burns in your heart like
-
a fire that cannot be quenched, and God is gonna
-
cause the Holy Spirit to build a church for His
-
glory, and you're gonna see it if you would only
-
lift up You're gonna see it happen if you would
-
only lift up your eyes. If you would only lift
-
up your eyes. Pastors and prophets, evangelists,
-
apostles and teachers are gonna be raised up.
-
You're gonna be a church who crafts things to
-
help equip people. I believe that there's going
-
to be a strong marketplace ministry in this church
-
where you network together businessmen and women
-
for the common cause of seeing finances flow
-
into the kingdom of God to accomplish things
-
in the kingdom of the Lord. You think that the
-
challenge presently in front of you is expensive.
-
I got news for you. You ain't seen nothing yet.
-
That'll scare the bleep out of you. Well, you
-
won't see nothing yet. Listen, we don't live
-
here. We're not building some church based on
-
fear. We're not building a church based on what
-
we can feel. I don't feel good about this, pastor.
-
Well, tell me what you feel. Tell me what you
-
see, what you believe. If you're gonna tell me
-
you don't feel good about it, the next thing
-
I better hear is what do you see out of your
-
mouth? And it better be impressive to God. Because
-
God is not the giver of wimpy dreams. He's not
-
the giver of dreaming mediocrity. He's not the
-
giver of lame destiny. He's the giver of epic
-
world changers. He's the giver of a world changing
-
life. He's the giver of dreams that alters the
-
things of the earth. Abraham was a real man who
-
lived in a real time, who lived a real life,
-
who had a real dream, and he forever changed
-
the course of this earth. Jesus Christ was a
-
real man who came from heaven to earth lived
-
a real life died a real death Resurrected for
-
real from the grave three days later and our
-
life is forever changed We still live BC AD in
-
the 21st century Because of one man who chose
-
before hours before he went to the cross to lift
-
up his eyes And say father come on glorify your
-
purpose in me Come on God. I lifting up my eyes
-
father Do what you want to do through me He wasn't
-
whining He wasn't complaining this takes a lot
-
of my time, you know father This is really stretching
-
me I'm tired This is gonna be expensive because
-
if I die who's gonna take care of my mom And
-
on the cross, he even made provision for that.
-
In all of the illucidity of his mind in the moment
-
of agony, he looks down, sees his mom, tells
-
John, take care of her. I got you. No problem.
-
God will take care of it. Just lift up your eyes.
-
Well, I don't know what's next. Lift up your
-
eyes. Just looking at where you are, you're not
-
gonna even get a clue of what's next. Lift up
-
your eyes. But man, it's just, it's where I'm
-
at is hard. Well lift up your eyes because there's
-
a solution. Listen, if you are in a place of
-
brokenness, lift up your eyes. You'll see God's
-
healing. If you're in a place of addiction, lift
-
up your eyes and you'll see God's deliverance.
-
If you're in a place of sinfulness, lift up your
-
eyes. You'll see a place of forgiveness. If you're
-
in a place of bondage, lift up your eyes. You'll
-
see a place of freedom. If you're in a place
-
of poverty, lift up your eyes. You'll see God's
-
riches, but you will never go there. until you
-
lift up your eyes. God's vision for you and for
-
this church is bigger than you could ever dream
-
and ever imagine. But I implore you by the Spirit
-
of God, lift up your eyes. What I was saying
-
about men and women in business, you're gonna
-
gather people who have means. And there are people
-
in this room who do not have means yet. But you
-
have a passion for God to use you through generosity.
-
But now the area of your lack, if you will be
-
faithful, God will give you more. Faithful. More.
-
Faithful. More. You'll find yourself in one day
-
in a place of plenty. You'll have more than enough.
-
And in that hour, you're gonna be equipped. to
-
do something eternally significant, greater than
-
just paying your bills. Now you're going to be
-
paying for orphanages. Now you're going to be
-
paying for churches to be built in India. Now
-
you're going to be paying for people to have
-
bishops, pastors to have motorcycles in China.
-
You're going to make an eternal impact with kingdom
-
partnership. Just lift up your eyes. Everybody
-
that is in a season where you know you need to
-
lift up your eyes. Stand to your feet right now.
-
You say, I want God to help me lift my eyes.
-
I don't want to be confined by my present reality.
-
I don't want to be limited by my present consequence
-
or circumstance of my choices in my lifestyle.
-
I want to be liberated. I want to experience
-
the destiny and the purpose and the vision of
-
God for my life. Friend, it's greater than you
-
could possibly think. Doesn't matter what kind
-
of home you came from. Doesn't matter what kind
-
of rascal your dad was. Doesn't matter what kind
-
of weirdo your uncle was. Doesn't matter what
-
kind of problem you have. If you will just lift
-
up your eyes from the place where you are and
-
you will begin taking steps of obedience to what
-
God's calling you to do and what He's calling
-
you to be, you will live differently and your
-
life will change. Before I go on any further,
-
I saw you up here and I remembered. God's got
-
a plan and a future for you. There's a gathering
-
anointing upon your life. Jacqueline, there's
-
a... an amazing generational grace that's filtering
-
down through your family line. Your great -grandfather,
-
your grandfather, and even great -great and great
-
-greater -greater -greater. There's this thing,
-
and it just begins to pass on. And I'm telling
-
you that it's upon you, it's even upon your baby
-
sister. There's an anointing upon you, and you're
-
going to gather people. There's going to come
-
a time in your life, and maybe even you've experienced
-
it to some degree, but you're going to go to
-
the other nations of the earth. God's going to
-
use you to impact people with the message of
-
hope and the message of the gospel. You need
-
to know that God's hand is on you to call you
-
into the ministry. You're going to write poetry
-
and you're going to write music and songs and
-
there's the anointing of the minstrel upon you
-
and God's going to use you in a great way. Don't
-
limit yourself. Don't allow a limitation of youth
-
to be upon you. Don't allow the limitation of
-
other people's opinions to confine you. But let
-
God liberate you to be the woman of God that
-
He has called you to be. You're going to be a
-
woman who's going to sing the song of God in
-
the house of the Lord. Your songs are going to
-
bring healing. They're going to bring freedom.
-
They're going to bring liberty. But you're not
-
just going to be one that's going to have a ministry
-
of music. I believe you're also going to be a
-
teacher and minister of the Word. You're going
-
to walk with authority. You're going to walk
-
with an anointing. Spirit of Revelation is going
-
to be upon you. Prophetic touch. It's been upon
-
your parents. It's going to come upon you. And
-
at times you're going to prophesy beyond your
-
years. You're going to prophesy beyond your experience.
-
People are going to hear it and they're going
-
to say, Oh, but God has surely revealed Himself
-
to her. And surely He has opened up His mouth
-
and spoken into her ear. I want to say unto you
-
to be bold. To be strong in the Lord and in the
-
power of His might. Do not let the opinion of
-
man or your personal insecurity get in the way
-
of the calling of God for your life. And you
-
will make a mark on your generation. Many will
-
call you a mentor and friend. They'll call you
-
a teacher. They'll call you one who said come
-
follow me as I follow Christ and it radically
-
changed their life forever. Give yourself into
-
these things so that your progress will be evident
-
to all. Tie yourself into times of prayer and
-
intercession. Let the burden of prayer be upon
-
your heart and your life and watch as God begins
-
to fill you with words and revelation and anointing
-
and He's going to speak into your heart things
-
that you never thought you'd be able to even
-
know or hear from God and He's going to reveal
-
them to you. Anointing of leadership is upon
-
you and you're going to walk in roles of leadership
-
in the house. Do not let the opinion of men limit
-
you. The only opinion that matters is God's.
-
Lift up your eyes. You're more than what you
-
think you are. You can do more than you think
-
you can. Because the call and the mantle and
-
the anointing of the Holy Spirit is on you. More
-
will be said to you in the days that are ahead
-
for your life. Others will speak the Word of
-
the Lord to you. God will make even clearer the
-
things that He wants to do in your life. Your
-
wonderful treasure to the Lord. I just want to
-
tell you what I hear the Holy Spirit saying to
-
me. The Heavenly Father says, I am so proud of
-
you. Keep doing what you're doing. Press into
-
what God has for you. How many would say here
-
today that you have been limited by your past?
-
You raise your hand and say, Mark, that's me.
-
I know where I've been, I know where I came from,
-
my family, my education, my whatever. You could
-
fill in the blank. My past though, there's some
-
things there that I have that I know limit me
-
from doing. Lift up your eyes from your past.
-
How many of you, go ahead and put your hands
-
down. How many of you here, and in the moment,
-
in the now, you see where you are now, and it's
-
been pretty consuming because you're busy. You're
-
going life's a million miles an hour and where
-
you are consumes all your attention. To think
-
about lifting your eyes is just like, I don't
-
want to hit a tree. But you know that it's just
-
you need to lift up your eyes because there's
-
something God wants you to do more than where
-
you're at. What you got in your hand isn't what
-
it's all about. God has more for you. You got
-
it? And as I was preaching today meant something
-
was leaping in your heart. I got to lift up my
-
eyes. If that's you, raise your hand. I'm in
-
my moment right now, and I think it's limiting
-
me. I want God to help me break out of where
-
I am. I've been looking at my feet, but I've
-
found I'm wandering in circles. Oh, I'm going
-
somewhere, but I'm going nowhere. A lot of motion,
-
but no movement. No progress. Everybody that
-
raised their hands today, past or present, if
-
you want to lift up your eyes in this place,
-
you want to see something. for your own personal
-
life, for your business, your marriage, or even
-
for this house, for this church. God, help me
-
see it. Help me see what you see. That's you,
-
raise your hand. Come on, everybody in this place,
-
raise your hand. Father, right now we lift up
-
our eyes. We refuse to now gaze on our past.
-
We will not eat the manna of our past and of
-
another time. We are gonna step in and eat the
-
fruit of the land of our future. And we're going
-
to lift up our eyes and we're going to see what
-
it is that you want us to see. Holy Spirit, let
-
a spirit of revelation come upon every person
-
here to get us out of our ruts and out of our
-
rituals and out of our routines and out of our
-
now. And get us thinking about what you can do
-
through us in our future and in our destiny.
-
In Jesus' name. Help us now to see what you see.
-
Help us now to do what you've called us to do.
-
Help us to be who you've called us to be. And
-
not limited by what our perception is or what
-
others think of us, but only gauged by what you
-
say we are to be and what we can do. I lift my
-
eyes. Say that. Now. To you, O Lord. Show me
-
what you want me to do. Now listen, that's a
-
dangerous prayer to pray. You asked for it, just
-
remember that. But I got good news for you. God
-
only does good things. So it's gonna be good
-
for you. This couple, young man with the red
-
hair and blonde girlfriend, wife, I don't know
-
what the deal is there. There's a real grace
-
on your life for leading. And I see God's called
-
you for influence in the kingdom of God. And
-
the two of you are going to be mentors to young
-
married people. And God's going to work in your
-
lives and cause a testimony of God's goodness
-
to come out of your union. He's going to bless
-
you and He's going to bless children out of your
-
home. And He's going to give you the testimony
-
of God to help people navigate through difficult
-
waters. A man and a woman who's going to help
-
develop young leaders and people in this house.
-
God's going to give you favor in the marketplace.
-
He's going to open doors of opportunity for you.
-
He's going to set things in front of you that
-
you would have never dreamed possible. Because
-
you are a man that is willing to take a risk
-
and believe God. Don't lose that, man. Don't
-
lose that. You'll believe God. You will see God
-
do amazing things in your life. You'll look back
-
20 years from now and you'll go, I can't believe
-
what God's done. There was a young lady standing
-
up here in worship, right here, right in front
-
of me. Is she in this room? Where are you? Yeah,
-
there you are. What's your name? Christine? If
-
I was a real prophet I'd know that, but anyway.
-
No, it's a prophet joke, sorry. Christine, there's
-
an anointing and a calling of God upon your life.
-
You're going to have a great fruitfulness in
-
your life as God works through you. Stay surrendered
-
to Him and let God teach and train you. You're
-
in a time where God's wanting to train you and
-
equip you and let you have a teachable spirit.
-
But I want to say many of the same things that
-
I said to her, not all of them, but that there's
-
a grace of leadership upon you. And God's raising
-
you up and you've been beating in your heart
-
with a desire for the things of the kingdom and
-
the things of ministry. That has not been an
-
accident, neither has it if. The fantasies of
-
a young girl. But it is the dream of heaven that
-
God has placed in your heart. And you're to passionately
-
pursue it with all your heart, soul, mind and
-
strength. And as you do, God will give unto you
-
the things that have been dreams into your heart.
-
And you know what they are. And you know exactly
-
what I'm talking about. You've been a dreamer.
-
And there have been... You've been afraid to
-
say what some of the things are that you have
-
had in your heart, because they're pretty big.
-
And I got to tell you, they are from the Lord.
-
And they are not the vain imaginations of a willowy
-
eyed girl dreaming of cool stuff to do. No, they're
-
from the Lord and God has spoken into your heart
-
of what He wants to do and what He wants to accomplish
-
in your life. How many here are students at Oregon?
-
How many here are students or you have some kind
-
of a role? in ministry there or anything like
-
that. Raise your hand. Anybody in here like that?
-
Just keep your hand up. Father, I pray for supernatural
-
strategy to come to them. Open their eyes to
-
see what they need to do. I pray for open doors
-
in the name of Jesus on that campus. Oh, there
-
has been a resistance, a wall of steel. that
-
has been at your face at almost at every turn.
-
And it's like plowing in stone trying to get
-
this thing broken open. But I'm telling you,
-
I believe this is the year of the Lord's favor.
-
I just sense in my spirit a quaking in the earth.
-
The cracking of that stone is beginning to...
-
And underneath that stone is a fertile soil like
-
you've never seen in your life. And God is going
-
to crack that... Stony, ground open, and He's
-
going to cause the ministry of this house to
-
go into that like seed and grain. There's going
-
to be a planting of the Lord there. It's going
-
to be like oaks of righteousness. And a testimony
-
of God is going to be on the campus of Oregon.
-
You're going to see it. You're going to have
-
a strategic part in it. Partner up with some
-
other folks that also have influence there. Partner
-
up with them. Let God begin to use the threefold
-
cord to bind you together. You're going to have
-
a uniqueness of your own, but I believe there's
-
a partnership grace that God wants to develop
-
to bring the fruitfulness that he wants to see.
-
Right? Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Come on, everybody,
-
lift your hands. Now, Father, we believe. Come
-
on, say it with me. I believe. I believe you're
-
building your church. And the gates of hell will
-
not prevail. I'm a man or a woman, whatever it
-
applies to you. Say it. I'm a man of destiny.
-
And I will fulfill my destiny in God. Because
-
today, I choose to lift up my eyes and see the
-
plan and purpose of God. In Jesus' name, Amen.
-
Come on, give the Lord a clap. I'll tell them,
-
yeah. in hearing other podcasts or contacting
