In the worship service. It can happen in your
-
car. It can happen in your prayer closet. God
-
wants to meet with you. And he wants you to ascend
-
to where he is at. I believe he wants you to
-
have that experience. Even John said in a moment.
-
In the spirit. I heard a voice of the Lord calling
-
to me. In an open door. And in a moment. In that
-
moment. I was in heaven. I was in the presence
-
of God. Well through the spirit of God. We do
-
have access to the very presence of God. You
-
know. I learned this at the age of 17 when I
-
was just... Coming into the kingdom. I was saved
-
at the age of 17. Filled with the Holy Ghost.
-
Right after I was saved. And one of my first
-
experiences. Actually the first miracle I ever
-
saw. In my ministry. As a young man. And I didn't
-
even know what ministry was in those days. But
-
it was what. First work that God allowed me to
-
do. Was after I had separated myself. To seek
-
the Lord. I spent some time fasting and praying.
-
And in a worship service at a camp meeting. Because
-
I was so exhausted. And having never fasted three
-
days for a young man, 17 of age, you try fasting
-
for three days and it's like a nightmare. And
-
so I was exhausted, depleted. And in the middle
-
of the service when the preacher came on, I fell
-
asleep. After we were in worship and in prayer,
-
I just fell asleep where I was. Thank God nobody
-
woke me up. But the Spirit of God began to speak
-
to me. Because even when your body is tired,
-
your spirit is awake. Amen. Your spirit doesn't
-
fall asleep. Your spirit should be awake. Amen.
-
And that inner man has awakened you. And I heard
-
a voice of the Lord. And I began to see some
-
things in my dream. I thought I was dreaming.
-
But it was the Lord speaking to me. And I believe
-
what pastor said. That we need to be able to
-
see and hear. Even the prophet Habakkuk said.
-
I will position myself. In Habakkuk chapter 2.
Habakkuk 2 chapter mention
-
I will position myself to see what the Lord will
-
speak to me. There is that seeing part. Of hearing
-
the voice of the Lord. And God wants to use all
-
of our senses. So that we can perceive. his word.
-
And part of it is our faculties of seeing. Maybe
-
not the eyes, the natural eye at times. Maybe
-
it's the eyes of your understanding. Maybe it's
-
through a dream. But God can jump into any one
-
of our dreams whenever he wants and bring us
-
a word of direction. Well, I fell asleep and
-
I saw myself. Receiving instructions from the
-
Lord. And he told me to rise from that place.
-
Where I was asleep. And I knew I was asleep.
-
In my dream. And he said rise from here. And
-
go to a certain area. And he gave me directions
-
where to go. And there was. He said I would find
-
some people there. That were waiting for me.
-
And that he would heal this person. Who needed
-
healing. And that God was going to restore. Was
-
going to heal this young man. Well I thought
-
everybody would. be in the meeting in my own
-
nature. I woke up out of my dream with that instruction.
-
I looked around, and while the service was going,
-
here I have this urgency of the Holy Spirit.
-
Get up and do it now. I gave you this word. So
-
I get up. I'm 17 years old for the first time.
-
Actually hearing, I was praying and fasting for
-
one petition. I had been filled with the Holy
-
Ghost. Now I was praying and fasting to be able
-
to prophesy and to have the gifts of the Spirit.
-
I was pursuing earnestly the gifts of the Holy
-
Ghost. And this is when my ears, I believe, got
-
unplugged. As I heard in this dream, I heard
-
the voice of the Lord clearly. I woke up. It
-
spoke to me. And now I'm hearing the voice of
-
God. While the preacher's preaching, I'm hearing
-
God saying, get up from here and go to where
-
I told you. So I get up, follow the instructions
-
of the Lord, and it takes me out to the outside
-
of that same campground. They had a freestanding
-
chapel over this cliff. And under the chapel,
-
there was a little prayer room that people would
-
go to pray. And there were these metal steps
-
that would go down to that prayer room. So I
-
began to go down these steps. That's what he
-
was showing me exactly in my dreams. So I saw
-
the steps. I walked down to this place. It's
-
my first time in this camp. And as I walk down,
-
I hear somebody call my name out. And they said,
-
Danny, is that you? And now I know. They couldn't
-
see me because they were around the corner. But
-
when they heard me, they were expecting me. Just
-
like God told me. So I walk down and I find two
-
young men. One cannot speak. He's a mute. The
-
other one. Is the one talking. And I said how
-
do you know my name? And he said last night while
-
we were praying. God spoke to us. And spoke to
-
this man. To this young man. And he was a mute.
-
He couldn't talk. So he wrote my name in his
-
Bible. And he was crying because the Lord said
-
I'm going to heal you. I'm going to send Danny
-
to lay hands on you. And you're going to be healed.
-
So. He communicated that through sign language.
-
And the young man tells me now, and he shows
-
me the Bible with his tears that had blotted
-
out where he had marked out my name. And so here
-
God is speaking to somebody about me, and he's
-
speaking to me about them. Through prayer and
-
intercession, I had spent time in the presence
-
of God. Now, for the first time, I'm hearing
-
the voice of God. And now I'm there. How many
-
of you know when you see something like that,
-
your faith is going to get built up? I didn't
-
need any more faith. I just said, all right,
-
this is enough for me to fly with this. We're
-
going to believe God for a miracle. God told
-
me in my dream that he's going to heal you. I
-
spoke the word. And when I laid hands on him,
-
he immediately burst out. Sound came out of his
-
mouth. And he began to sing. He began to sing
-
before the Lord. His voice came back fully. And
-
he began to sing. And words began to be articulated.
-
Then he began to fill with the Holy Spirit. And
-
he began to sing in the Spirit. I was blown away.
-
This is my first time I see something like the
-
power of God flow by the laying out of hands.
-
And as I laid hands and I saw this explosion
-
of a miracle in front of my eyes, I just was
-
blown away. And that night he sang for the entire
-
camp meeting because it was a miracle that was
-
made public to everybody and he was healed. I
-
thank God for miracles like that. I believe God
-
wants to do them with every one of us. It's not
-
just for a few. I believe he wants to quicken
-
you. I believe that this time that you've separated
-
into God is going to count. I believe that through
-
intercession, we can actually bring forth miracles
-
into the lives of people. And God can speak to
-
us, give us directions so we can put ourselves
-
in a position where a miracle can happen. Look
-
at somebody and say, dare to position yourself.
-
For the next miracle. And then. I remember. Being
-
in a service. Years later. Pastoring now in New
-
York City. In Harlem. Actually it was the very
-
foundation of our church. We were in what's called
-
Washington Heights. Upper Manhattan. We still
-
had not gone right into Harlem. We were in the
-
upper part of the east side of Manhattan. That's
-
where we planted our church. And we were there,
-
and in this old Baptist church that we rented,
-
our church began to grow. And we were 30 and
-
50, and we were at a service, and I'm preaching
-
away, and the Holy Spirit interrupted my message
-
and said, I want you to do a prophetic act. and
-
I had he told me exactly what to do get me instructions
-
so I called one of the crazy young men in my
-
church to act out what the Holy Spirit was saying
-
I stopped the service I whispered it brought
-
him up whispered in his ear he walked away and
-
I didn't tell the church what was going on but
-
I had told him to act out the part of a man breaking
-
through the back to the doors of the sanctuary
-
crying out how God spared his life and how God
-
saved him from suicide So he cried, he went after,
-
I kept preaching and everybody stayed into the
-
word. And then a few minutes later, he interrupted
-
my preaching, walked in, ran into the sanctuary
-
and acted this, I believe it was a prophetic
-
intercessory act. And so he acted out this thing.
-
He acted it so well, we started crying. People
-
started crying. And he fell on his knees. in
-
front of me and I prayed for him and I then prophesied
-
to the church this is what will begin to happen
-
in our ministry I was prophesying about the harvest
-
and releasing the harvest well we went on with
-
the service people clapped we went on with the
-
service that young man sat down and I went on
-
ending my message all of a sudden before I could
-
end my message the doors in the back Opened up.
-
A man runs through. Runs right into the sanctuary
-
screaming. I was about to jump off this building
-
in front of this church. At a seven story building.
-
And the Lord spoke to me. He said I heard God
-
say go to that church right now. Don't jump.
-
Run into that building. So he ran into the building
-
crying out, save me. I was about to commit suicide.
-
I need help. And he fell right on his knees in
-
front of me just like we had acted out. The church
-
just went in awe. One of those awe. This was
-
a prophetic intercessory act that actually brought
-
and broke the spirit of suicide off a man. Come
-
on. Somebody give God a hand. That's the kind
-
of prophetic intercession I'm talking about.
-
It's when prophecy and intercessory and prayer
-
come together. It can happen in worship. It can
-
happen. Listen, I just love the atmosphere you
-
guys create in the worship team for the presence
-
of God. How many can thank God for great worshipers
-
in the house of God? Come on. If that's the way
-
you rehearse, I want to be at every rehearsal.
-
I want to be. I'm an addict for the presence
-
of God. So here, you know, we're... Just experiencing
-
God. But God wants to use us and speak to us
-
in the midst of worship, in the midst of prayer.
-
He wants to give us instructions. And I was traveling
-
with my wife through New York City. We were on
-
the train. And we were heading back to our church's
-
offices after, I believe, having a meal downtown
-
New York City. And as we were heading back, the
-
Lord spoke to me. I had a son of the Lord that
-
was backslidden and had committed a tremendous
-
sin. He was one of the leaders of our church,
-
had fallen away, committed adultery, and he was
-
so ashamed that he didn't want anybody to see
-
him. And he hid away, ran off from his family,
-
and nobody knew where he was. Well, as we were
-
going up on this train, and we had been in prayer
-
and fasting for him all weekend, that weekend
-
as he disappeared, God began to speak to me.
-
And I heard the voice of the Lord tell me where
-
he was. So I said to my wife, you keep going
-
to the office. I'm going to get off this train.
-
God just told me where to find him. And I followed
-
the directions of the Lord. I got off at the
-
right station, walked a few blocks, and to the
-
building that the Lord pointed out, gave me the
-
number of the building, walked in. The Lord told
-
me he was in his basement and that he would have
-
a shotgun in his hand ready to commit suicide.
-
So I got there. And when I asked for him at the
-
front desk, they said, yes, he's downstairs,
-
I believe. And I went downstairs and found him
-
in this basement sitting with a shotgun in his
-
lap, considering blowing his head off, committing
-
suicide. But God loves people. Even after they
-
sin, he still loves them. God doesn't change
-
his love for us. Even when we mess up, he's the
-
God who will go after us. He was the God who
-
will reach out to us from the uttermost. He can
-
save. Can you say amen? How many know he can
-
still hear prayer? Amen. He can still save. Well,
-
I spoke to him what God spoke to me. He was shocked
-
to see me appear because nobody knew where he
-
was. He said, how did you find me? Who told you?
-
I was here. I said, the Lord just talked to me.
-
And I gave him the word of the Lord. And I convinced
-
him to hand me the shotgun. Not just for his
-
sake, but my sake too. I wanted to live. So I
-
didn't want him to get angry and shoot me. But
-
I got ahold of his shotgun and I was able to
-
turn his life around, bring him to repentance
-
and bring him to a decision to come back home
-
and make it right with God. It was powerful.
-
And while I was there, I heard the steps coming
-
down his metal staircase. And the Lord said,
-
that's the woman that he committed adultery with.
-
And I gave her the word of the Lord and she got
-
saved. And never did that relationship ever happen.
-
And I removed him from that place where he had
-
any kind of connection there. And God saved that.
-
He was a leader and became a leader again in
-
the house of the Lord. God restored him. Listen,
-
God wants to speak to you. Detailed information.
-
He wants to speak to you when you're praying.
-
Prayer is not a monologue. God wants to speak
-
back. God wants to share with you. He wants to
-
speak to you in your ear. He wants to open up
-
your ear. So that you can see this. At one time
-
corporately we're praying in our church in the
-
morning. I'll just share this one last story.
-
Are you okay? This one last story. We're praying
-
and interceding. It's the beginning of our church.
-
We're again in that wasward section of New York
-
City. The upper east side. And we're surrounded
-
by buildings that are inhabited by people. You
-
know there are lots of people in every one of
-
these buildings. Some of them 12, 15 floors,
-
30 floors. New York City is New York City. Like
-
no other. the city so here God we're praying
-
in the church for our city and all of a sudden
-
the Lord shows me a picture of a window that's
-
open and the curtains are flying almost in the
-
wind but there's a candle that's lit that doesn't
-
go out this lid candle and he says to me I want
-
you to go and find this house I want to save
-
a family today and you'll know it by the candle
-
in the window So I tell everybody, my team's
-
there. We're all interceding and praying. I said,
-
everybody, I need your help. New York City's
-
got a lot of windows. So we go outside. I want
-
you to describe my vision. I said, let's go out
-
there. I want you to find, help me find a window
-
with a candle. I want you to look intensely.
-
I don't care what floor it is. There's a window
-
with a candle lit up. And the curtains, there's
-
some white curtains flying in it. And God is
-
going to save that family today. So we walked
-
out in faith, looked around, praying in the spirit.
-
Oh, God, show us where the window is. As we looked
-
around, looked at all the buildings, we couldn't
-
find them. Then we looked to our left, and there
-
it was. On the fourth or third floor, there was
-
this window open with a candle lit and the white
-
curtains. And the Lord said, go. And we rushed,
-
a team of us rushed through the staircase. It's
-
like we were going to make an arrest or something.
-
We rushed in there, arrived at the door, knocked
-
on the door. And when we opened it, there was
-
a man in a wheelchair that I had seen in my vision.
-
He was sitting there and his family, they were
-
weeping at the moment we arrived. We gave them
-
the gospel. The Lord moved on that family and
-
God restored a family unto himself. Can somebody
-
give God a hand? You need to move on what you
-
see. You need to move on what you perceive to
-
be the word of the Lord. God still speaks with
-
visions and dreams. It's the language of the
-
Holy Ghost. Amen. So, get ready. Come on. Get
-
ready to see some things you haven't seen. Get
-
ready to hear some things you've never heard.
-
And get ready to act upon some things by faith
-
in the name of Jesus. Look at somebody and say,
-
get ready. Amen. I believe that... As we stir
-
your faith up and faith comes to you by the word
-
of the Lord. You and I are going to see a manifestation
-
of the presence of God. I want you to go with
-
me to Isaiah 59. The prophet Isaiah speaks about
-
the condition of his city. When the Lord uses
-
him to bring a message about intercessors. Isaiah
-
59 verse 12 through 19. It says our wrongdoings
-
and I'm taking it way down. You can read a little
-
bit more if you read the whole chapter. Our wrongdoings
-
pile up. Verse 12. Our wrongdoings pile up. I'm
-
reading from the message translation. Our wrongdoings
-
pile up before you, God. Our sins stand up and
-
accuse us. Our wrongdoings stare us down. We
-
know in detail what we have done. Mocking and
-
denying God. Not following our God. Spreading
-
false rumors. Inciting sedition. Pregnant with
-
lies. Murdering, muttering malice. Justice is
-
beneath, is beaten back. Justice is beaten back.
-
Righteousness is banished to the sidelines. Truth
-
staggers down the street. Honesty is nowhere
-
to be found. Good is missing in action. Somebody
-
say good is missing in action. Sounds like a
-
description of our day, doesn't it? Anyone renouncing
-
evil is beaten and robbed. Correct this awful
-
situation. Correct this awful situation, God.
-
Here's a prayer of the prophet. Pray, interceding.
-
God looked and saw evil looming on the horizon.
-
Listen to this, verse 15. God looked and saw
-
evil looming on the horizon. There's more evil
-
to come. How many know? That no matter what happens
-
as we come to the close of the age. The Bible
-
says that men will grow even more wicked. But
-
the holy will grow even more holy. There's going
-
to be a great separation. And I believe God's
-
eyes are on the future. He knows no matter what
-
happens the kingdom of God is going to move forward.
-
But God looked and saw evil looming on the horizon.
-
So much evil and no sign of justice. And he couldn't
-
believe what he saw. Not a soul around to correct
-
this awful situation. Not a soul around to correct
-
this awful situation. Well, the new King James
-
says it this way when it comes to verse 16. It
-
says, and he wondered that there was no intercessor.
-
It's the responsibility of intercessors to correct
-
the situation. You and I can change our world
-
through prayer. We can change lives through prayer.
-
We can interrupt. We can bring divine intervention.
-
We can interrupt suicide. We can interrupt calamity.
-
We can interrupt the hopelessness in families.
-
We can bring change. We can bring justice back.
-
We can restore into people's lives. And while
-
the world is destined to grow darker and darker.
-
I believe the church is going to shine brighter
-
and brighter. Amen. Because of people who can
-
pray. Because of people who will not just. be
-
victims of change, victims of darkness, but will
-
interrupt darkness with intercessory prayer.
-
I wonder that there was no intercessor, nobody
-
available. So he did it himself. He took on the
-
work of salvation, fueled by his own righteousness.
-
Somebody say fueled by his own righteousness.
-
I like this language of the message Bible. He
-
dressed in righteousness. Put it on like a suit
-
of armor. With salvation on his head like a helmet.
-
Put on judgment like an overcoat. And threw a
-
cloak of passion across his shoulders. Just threw
-
it on his shoulders and said, come on. Nobody's
-
going to do it. I'm going to do it. And I believe
-
this has a lot to teach us on what our responsibility
-
is as an intercessor. Listen to it. Every intercessor
-
is responsibly chosen from that particular verse.
-
Nobody found no one to do it, so he took on the
-
work. I'm going to do it. Number one, take on
-
the work. Decide to make a difference. Come on.
-
Can you decide to make a difference? Somebody
-
say, I'm going to make a difference. It starts
-
with a confession of your mouth and a commitment.
-
I'm going to make a difference. I'm not just
-
going to sit around and let my family be taken.
-
I'm not going to sit around and let my city be
-
destroyed. Come on. Somebody's going to have
-
to do the work. Somebody say it's work. But somebody's
-
got to do it. And then number two, arm up. Now
-
how do you arm up for intercessory prayer? With
-
righteousness. The Bible says that he got dressed,
-
cloaked with righteousness. Righteousness as
-
an armor. He put on the right motives. The right...
-
Purity, righteousness. He got his life right.
-
If you're going to bring answers to the world,
-
you better have been living that answer. Amen?
-
You've got to live. How can we preach a God that
-
we have not experienced? How can we preach holiness
-
if we have not experienced holiness? How can
-
we call people out if we ourselves have not stepped
-
out of darkness? Arm up. Look at your neighbor
-
and say, arm up. And that speaks of warfare.
-
In Ephesians chapter 6 verse 10 says, put on
-
the full armor of God so you can stand the wiles
-
of the devil. Listen, our job is to stand, but
-
you can't stand in the kingdom without the armor.
-
So everybody say, arm up. That's what God did
-
himself. He armed himself with righteousness.
-
And then it says, he put on the helmet of salvation.
-
And I believe the helmet of salvation is what
-
guards your mind. You're focused so that you
-
can stay focused. This is about saving lives.
-
This is about salvation. This is not about a
-
power play. This is not about me doing a show.
-
This is about bringing lives out of darkness.
-
This is about breaking the back of the enemy.
-
This is about trampling the gates of hell. Can
-
you say amen? Where it has to give up the souls
-
that he has kept in captivity. The helmet of
-
salvation. Guard your mind. I'm saved and God
-
has saved me to save others. I'm healed so I
-
can heal others. I'm delivered so I can deliver
-
others. Keep your focus the right way. If you're
-
going to intercede, make sure your focus is right.
-
And when it says judgment like an overcoat, he
-
put on judgment like an overcoat. That's a discerning
-
authority. That's what judgment is. It's the
-
ability to discern right from wrong. We've got
-
too many people in the church, like the world,
-
they don't want to take sides. We want to emulate
-
the world. And the world doesn't know the secular
-
from the sacred. It's mixing the right with the
-
wrong. And many people in the church are doing
-
the same thing. We're just kind of become passive.
-
And we've actually allowed the world to teach
-
us that we are not who to judge. We can't judge.
-
That's not what the Bible says. The Bible says
-
we have an authority to judge. Amen? Hello? Are
-
you with me? There is an authority. You have
-
to take a side. Come on. You have to be able
-
to discern. A discerning authority has got to
-
come on the church and intercessors can't be
-
pansy about this. You've got to have an authority
-
to judge a situation and attack it because you've
-
got the right discernment. You know where the
-
wrong is and you're going to pray correctly.
-
Can you say amen? A discerning authority. And
-
then I like this one. Passion across his shoulder.
-
He threw it as a cloak of passion across his
-
shoulder. Oh, you could have probably gone and
-
done it without it. But he made sure he added
-
this. That he put passion across his shoulders.
-
Well, shoulders are a place of government. And
-
passion needs to be in that place. It's sealed
-
under control. You're a zealous, but you're not
-
going to become foolish. And there's so many
-
people in intercessory prayer that become zealous
-
and become foolish in their intercession. Because
-
they have no restraint. There's no governing
-
of their emotions. They get weird. Bunch of space
-
cadets. And that's not what we need. We need
-
people grounded in the truth. We need people
-
anchored in the word of God. We need people who
-
have dominion over their emotions. Amen? God
-
has not given us a spirit of fear, but of love,
-
power, and of a sound mind. That soundness of
-
mind is that dominion, a zeal under control.
-
Yes, our emotions are involved in worship. Yes,
-
our emotions are involved in bringing the gospel
-
to somebody. But they have to be under control,
-
zeal under control. Can you say amen? How many
-
want to see a well -balanced church full of the
-
fire of the Holy Ghost? Maybe you're going to
-
call to do some things that are extraordinary.
-
And the only thing between ordinary and extraordinary
-
is that word extra. Extra, extraordinary, man.
-
And you've got to believe God. That's where faith
-
comes in. It puts you above what other people
-
can do. If you can just do what others can do,
-
then you're not extraordinary. But when you can
-
do above, when you can move in the extraordinary
-
power of the Holy Ghost, I believe that God wants
-
to use you if you believe him for that kind of
-
miracle in your life. How many would like to
-
believe God for some extraordinary things? Come
-
on. Extraordinary opportunities, extraordinary
-
healings, extraordinary things going on in your
-
life. Well, I believe God wants to do it, but
-
that doesn't mean you just cut loose your emotions
-
and get crazy. That means that you're going to
-
bring zeal, passion across his shoulders. There's
-
government in it. There's a governing factor
-
in this passion. Are you with me? Let's go to
-
the next slide. Prophetic intercession is joining
-
Jesus in prayer. Because if we're going to pray,
-
and we're talking about intercession, we need
-
to join Jesus in what he's praying. Prophetic
-
intercession is to join Jesus in prayer for another.
-
Taking up their burden through intentional and
-
directive supplication in the Holy Spirit. For
-
someone or something until something happens.
-
Remember what I said yesterday? Push. Somebody
-
say push. Pray until something happens. And I
-
believe that intercessory prayer has got to have
-
that push, that insistency, that ringing of the
-
bell, that constantly knocking on the door, asking
-
God, pleading with the Lord, and pushing it to
-
the very max until you see something happen,
-
until the miracle is made manifest. Just because
-
you don't see it when you first pray doesn't
-
mean that God doesn't want to do it. God might
-
want... Might want to use. That very manifested.
-
Manifested miracle. To train your faith. To go
-
for the extraordinary. Are you with me? So. We're
-
praying with Jesus. Hebrews chapter 7. The writer
Hebrews 7 chapter mention
-
of Hebrews from verse 24 to 25 says. But he because
-
he continues forever. Has an unchangeable priesthood.
-
Therefore he also. Is also able to save. To the
-
uttermost. Those who come to God through him.
-
Since he always lives. Somebody say always. Since
-
he always lives to make intercession for them.
-
Come on. Can you give the Lord a clap offering
-
that he's alive and well? He's sitting at the
-
right hand of the Father. He's making intercession.
-
He always lives. That's what he lives for. He's
-
making intercession. Somebody asks you what is
-
Jesus doing in heaven? He's making intercession.
-
He is always in prayer. Always praying for the
-
saints. I believe that as petitions go up and
-
bombard heaven. I believe that God is beginning
-
to pray. And he's praying. He's praying. And
-
I believe that you and I have got to get a hold
-
of what he's praying about. And part of intercessory
-
prayer, prophetic intercession, is not just praying.
-
It's praying what Jesus is praying. It's what
-
is he praying about? What is on the heart of
-
Jesus for that family, for that person? And begin
-
to get the mind of God for that person. Are you
-
with me? Come on. How many of you want to join
-
Jesus in prayer? Oh, I thank God that you're
-
joining each other in prayer. But I think it's
-
going to be powerful when we all join Jesus together.
-
And we, as one voice, begin to articulate. The
-
will of God is. For the city. For the families.
-
For the communities. In Romans chapter 8 verse
-
34. Who is he who condemns? Is it Christ? Who
-
died and furthermore is also risen. Who is even
-
at the right hand of God. Who also makes intercession
-
for us. Right now. He's making intercession for
-
us. Look at somebody and say he's praying for
-
you right now. When you're in trouble, he's praying.
-
Before even you ask, he's praying. Because he
-
knows what you're going to ask for. He's the
-
all -knowing God. He's well ahead of us. Isaiah
-
62. Listen to Isaiah 62, verse 6 through 7. I
-
have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem.
-
They will never be silent, day or night. You
-
who call on the Lord, give yourself no rest.
-
You who call on the Lord, you who intercede,
-
give yourself no rest. The watchmen on the wall,
-
these are intercessors. Give yourself no rest
-
and give him no rest. Hello? Give yourself no
-
rest and what? And give him no rest. That means
-
you're going to continually ring the bell. You're
-
going to continually ask. You're going to continually
-
press into God till he establishes Jerusalem
-
and makes her the praise of the earth. Until
-
he does what he needs to do. Don't give yourself
-
any rest and don't give him any rest. Continue
-
to press into God. Lord, we need this. Lord,
-
what is it that you want to do? Lord, and begin
-
to ask God. Begin to connect with the mind of
-
the Lord for intercessory prayer. Somebody say,
-
it's work. That's right. It's going to take some
-
work. It's not just that little moment of prayer
-
a day. Oh, I prayed for you. And all they prayed
-
was a few minutes. Before you were a few seconds
-
in passing. It's that prayer that goes on. It's
-
that insisting prayer that prays for you. It's
-
my little daughter praying for her grandfather.
-
Before my father was saved, he was a man who
-
had been backslidden for many, many years. I
-
had never even known that he was saved. But my
-
little daughter, when she got saved at the age
-
of three, the first thing she was concerned about,
-
what about grandpa? Is grandpa saved? Is he going
-
to heaven? And we said, right now, we need to
-
pray. on herself to intercede. In the morning,
-
waking morning, at breakfast, at lunch, at dinner,
-
at night, she was consistent with her prayer.
-
Save Grandpa. Save Papa. Save Papa. Move on Papa.
-
Holy Spirit, come. She's three years old, interceding.
-
She got filled with the Holy Spirit while doing
-
it. Intercession. And she began to pray in the
-
Spirit, you know, that it wasn't weeks, maybe
-
a month or two before grandpa had a visitation
-
from God. My father tells a story that an angel
-
showed up. The presence of God came, woke him
-
out of his sleep and said, get up, get dressed,
-
you're going to church. And he got up with the
-
fear of God, got dressed, he waited for him,
-
escorted him to the church where he was going
-
to get saved, walked with him. All the way to
-
a church. The doors were open and people were
-
praying. It was about six something in the morning.
-
People were praying. Prayer warriors were interceding.
-
Probably for people in that community. Probably
-
for people like my dad. And that angel said to
-
him, go there. Go to that altar and surrender
-
your life to Christ. And you'll never leave.
-
My father did so. He looked back and it was gone.
-
That person who drove him to that place. was
-
gone. Well, what an incredible experience when
-
a three -year -old can begin to pray. Children
-
have a beautiful faith to believe God. I believe
-
that God wants to use our children, wants to
-
teach our children early on. If you teach your
-
children how to touch heaven like that and how
-
to ascend to heaven and believe God through prayer
-
that they can bring change. Listen, they'll grow
-
up to be mighty people who will change their
-
world. Nothing will be impossible for them. If
-
you believe that, give the Lord a hand because
-
I believe he's depositing something. Give yourself
-
no rest and give yourself no rest and give him
-
no rest till he establishes Jerusalem. Well,
-
the message Bible reads, day and night they keep
-
it, they keep at it. Day and night they keep
-
at it, praying, calling out, reminding God to
-
remember. Reminding God to remember. Look at
-
your neighbor. Would you use this phrase? Tell
-
him, you need to remind God to remember. Well,
-
you would think the Almighty, he doesn't need
-
anybody to remind him. But it's all through your
-
Bible. Moses reminded God. Abraham reminded God.
-
Jacob, all of the patriarchs reminded God of
-
his goodness. Nehemiah reminded God. Daniel reminded
-
God. When the midst of trouble in Israel, they
-
rose up to remind God to remember. And I believe,
-
God, we've lost that at the church. Somehow,
-
it skipped us. But we need to get back to intercessory
-
prayer that reminds God, Lord, remember! Remember
-
what you said about my family. Remember the prophetic
-
word the prophets gave me. Remember when Bob
-
Isabel came and gave me that word. Everything
-
looks contrary, but I want you to remember the
-
prophets and what they spoke over my family.
-
Come on, can you say amen? I believe God wants
-
us to learn how to remind God to remember. Reminding
-
God to remember. Genesis 9 verse 16. Whenever
-
the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see
-
it and remember. The everlasting covenant between
-
God and all living creatures of every kind on
-
the earth. God places things that he can remember.
-
Have you ever done that in your life? Put a marker
-
so you can remember. Put it on the refrigerator.
-
You put a note. Put something on your hand like
-
a ring or something. You tie your string. I've
-
heard people trying to do things so that they
-
don't forget. And the older you get, the better
-
practice it is. How many walk into a room and
-
you forget why you came into that room? I bend
-
down and I make sure I pick up everything that
-
I got to pick up in case I forget anything. Because
-
I don't want to bend down again. Well, remembering.
-
Remembering is important. It's important to God.
-
God is not old and he hasn't grown ancient. But
-
he is a God who expects people to rise and call
-
him on his promises. To hold him at his word.
-
I believe that God wants you and I in intercessory
-
prayer to remind him to remember. Come on. Deuteronomy
-
chapter 9 verse 25 through 26. In the Message
-
Bible, Deuteronomy 9, verse 25 through 26. When
-
I was on my face, prostrate before God those
-
40 days and nights after God said he would destroy
-
you. This is Moses. I prayed to God for you.
-
My master God, don't destroy your people, your
-
inheritance, whom in your immense generosity
-
you redeemed, using your enormous strength to
-
get them out of Egypt. Moses reminded God of
-
all of his works and what God did. And he reminded
-
the people, I prayed for you. I made intercession.
-
Moses would stand. Every time God wanted to destroy
-
Israel, it was Moses and Aaron running in the
-
midst of calamity. Running in the midst of judgment
-
to stay the judgment of God. Well, somehow God's
-
raising a church that will stay the judgment
-
of God over a nation. I believe that... Nations
-
are being judged by their acts. Because of their
-
acts, the judgment of God will come on the nations.
-
But the church can stand to protect the nation.
-
I believe, I come from the little island of Puerto
-
Rico. It faces every year, almost every year,
-
countless storms that make their way through
-
the Caribbean. All of you have probably seen
-
it in the news. They're making their way right
-
to Puerto Rico. It's been here a few times, but
-
very few times. Because there's a church awake
-
that have learned that they can turn a storm.
-
around so what's been happening is our city churches
-
are getting together in the coliseums to pray
-
to avert disasters and every mayor of the city
-
over 50 mayors have called for citywide prayer
-
meetings where churches are coming together to
-
pray something is happening in little island
-
it might be collapsing financially but the glory
-
of God is ready to move in And storm after storm
-
coming announced it's going to hit the island.
-
It's going to hit the little island. It would
-
have destroyed the island. They averted and it
-
turns right in front of the island. It goes around
-
it because of a prayer seal that goes up. Somebody
-
say intercessory prayer works. Amen. I believe
-
you can shield your family. You can shield your
-
city. You can shield your finances. You can shield
-
your home. You can raise a hedge of protection.
-
Oh. All right. This is what Moses did. He stood
-
for the people. Verse 27 to 28, he said, Remember
-
your servants, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He's
-
speaking out to God. Don't make too much of the
-
stubbornness of this people. Think about it,
-
Moses counseling God. They're evil in their sin.
-
Lest the Egyptians from whom you rescued them
-
say, God couldn't do it. He got tired and wasn't
-
able to take them to the land he promised them.
-
He ended up hating them and dumped. Them in the
-
wilderness to die. Moses intercessory prayer.
-
Was full of wisdom. And he just not. He didn't
-
just look at the present. And I'm afraid. Our
-
intercession. Sometimes comes to an end. Because
-
we look. At sin. And we look at the. Wrong with
-
people. We stop praying. We think oh man. Go
-
ahead God. Kill them. Judge them Lord. They deserve
-
to be judged. You know. And we stop praying.
-
We stop protecting. And we stop believing God
-
to do something. And it gets so bad in people's
-
lives that somehow we just say, I'm going to
-
stop praying. This is a waste of time. No, that's
-
when you need to pray on. And you need to pray
-
with the kind of wisdom that looks at the future.
-
Don't look at the present. Look at the future.
-
God, what are people going to say? You've already
-
saved that man. I know he's vaccinated. He's
-
messing up in his house. But God, he's your servant.
-
There were prophecies. Hold up the prophetic
-
words. Find God to remember what he said. My
-
wife is constantly practicing this. You hear
-
praying all throughout the house. Lord, you said.
-
Lord, you said. Lord, you said. Whatever God
-
says, she brings it up and says, God, this is
-
what you said. And we've watched great victories
-
come through that kind of intercessory prayer.
-
Remember, intercessory prayer is not just praying
-
without understanding. praying without wisdom.
-
You've got to be able to look at things the way
-
God looks at them because that's the only way
-
God will understand what you have to say. I believe
-
that Moses had the power to step in and talk
-
to God in a very meek way, but he was able to
-
convince God. What will they say? The Egyptians.
-
What will Satan say? What will the people of
-
this city say? Deuteronomy 9, 29. There are your
-
people still, your inheritance, whom you powerfully
-
and sovereignly rescued. Remind God, they're
-
still your people. They messed up, but they're
-
still your people. You still died for them, Lord.
-
You still saved them. They look bad now, and
-
I'm very frustrated counseling pastors. Listen
-
to me, because you're going to be frustrated.
-
I've pastored in some of the wildest communities
-
in America, New York City, Harlem. I counseled
-
hit men and all kinds of ugly people that were
-
saved in my church, murderers that became deacons
-
in my church, and people who were way off, and
-
people had given up hope for them. But God saved
-
them, rescued them. Transvestites of 32 years.
-
Saved, rescued by the power of the blood of Jesus.
-
Who today are some of the most loved elders in
-
my church. That I left in New York City. Powerful
-
people transform. I've watched it all over my
-
life. God can do it. He did it with us. He can
-
do it with anybody. Come on, they're still your
-
people. Somebody say, they're still your people.
-
Remind God, come, I know he knows it, but you
-
need to stand in the gap and say, God, they're
-
still your people. Oh, God, don't give up on
-
them. God, rescue them. Oh, that we would be
-
filled with the passion of God. That we would
-
be filled that when God even decides that he
-
wants to kill them, we would turn his heart around
-
and spare them and another opportunity would
-
be given to them. Sovereign God. Wow. Well, let's
-
go to this next point. Because prophetic intercession
-
is pleading for the life of another. How many
-
of you know it? It's when you can plead, stand
-
in the gap for the life of another. In Genesis
Genesis 18 chapter mention
-
chapter 18, the great example of Abraham praying.
-
Praying for Sodom and Gomorrah, a wicked city.
-
Lost in their sins. And the scripture says that
-
God showed up to destroy that city with some
-
of his angels. Then the men set out for Sodom.
-
They were already on assignment. They were sent
-
out to Sodom. Verse 22, but Abraham stood in
-
God's path. Listen to it. You want to know what
-
intercessory prayer is all about? It's when you
-
dare to stand in front of God and say, God, hold
-
on, hold on. He stood in God's path, blocking
-
his way. Who are you? Well, the fear of God is
-
the beginning of wisdom, but there's that place
-
of intercessory prayer. That we can come before
-
God with confidence and with boldness, even before
-
the Lord. Why do we need boldness to enter into
-
the presence of God? Have you ever thought about
-
that? Because you're going to have to go before
-
God and stand in the gap for people. But Abraham
-
stood in God's path, blocking his way. Abraham
-
confronted him. Remember when I said intercession
-
is all about a confrontation? Our intercessory
-
prayer is not just about confronting the powers
-
of evil. Sometimes intercessory prayer is about
-
confronting God and saying, God, hold on. Let
-
me talk to you about this before you smash these
-
people, before you destroy our city. Let me talk
-
to you about them. And he confronted him. Are
-
you serious? I love the Message Bible. Maybe
-
it wasn't quite like this, but I love the way
-
he puts it. Are you serious? Are you planning
-
on getting rid of the good people right along
-
with the bad? What if there are 50 decent people
-
left in the city? Will you lump the good with
-
the bad and get rid of the lot? Wouldn't you
-
spare the city for the sake of those 50 innocents?
-
I can't believe you'd do that. Kill off the good
-
and the bad alike as if there were no difference
-
between them. Doesn't the judge of all the earth
-
judge with justice? Genesis 18 verse 26 through
-
28. God said if I find 50 decent people in the
-
city of Sodom, I'll spare the place just for
-
them. Now he was ready to destroy it. Now he's
-
ready to save 50. But unlike Abraham, he kept
-
pressing in. Kept ringing the bell. Abraham came
-
back. Do I, a mere mortal made from a handful
-
of dirt, dare open my mouth again to my master?
-
What if the 50 fall short of five? Would you
-
destroy the city because of the missing five?
-
And he said, I won't destroy it if there are
-
45. Abraham keeps pressing in. Abraham spoke
-
up again. What if you only find 40? Neither will
-
I destroy the city for 40 of only for 40. Let
-
me go on. He said, Master, don't be irritated
-
with me. But what if only 30 are found? No, I
-
won't do it if I find 30. I won't do it if I
-
find 30. Now he's got them down. He's negotiated.
-
When's the last time you negotiated with God?
-
Verse 31. He pushed on. Somebody say, he pushed
-
on. Push. Pray until something happened. He pushed
-
on. I know I'm trying your patience, master.
-
But what about for 20? For 20, would you do it
-
for 20? I won't destroy it for 20. I'll change.
-
I won't destroy the whole city. I came to destroy
-
it, but for 20 people, if I find 20 righteous
-
people, 20 people, I won't destroy it. He wouldn't
-
quit. Don't get angry. And I can imagine, I can
-
see Abraham, don't get angry, master. This is
-
the last time. What if you only come up with
-
10? Just 10. I mean, 10. Started counting. I
-
think he had lots of family in mind because that
-
was the point of his intercession. And he took
-
God through and negotiated for one family. What
-
about 10? For the sake of 10, I won't destroy
-
the city. Well, you know what happened. God destroyed
-
the city, but God has a way. In Genesis 19, verse
-
29, it says, so when God destroyed the cities
-
of the plain, he remembered Abraham and he brought
-
Lot out of the catastrophe that overthrew the
-
cities where Lot had lived. Because of the intercession
-
of one man. God didn't change his mind. He did
-
what he came out to do. But he saved a family
-
because of Abraham. He what? He remembered. Somebody
-
say he remembered Abraham. And he sent word to
-
his angels, escort, make sure they get out. I
-
don't care what you do, save that family. Because
-
I've got a man who's reminding me of my covenant.
-
I've got a man of faith. Believing for that family.
-
When's the last time you believed for somebody.
-
That you contended with God. And you negotiated.
-
For their salvation. You negotiated to set them
-
free. From a catastrophe that was impending.
-
A judgment that was already declared. Already
-
in action. You and I can step in. To the midst
-
of disaster. And change it around. We can change
-
the course of history. Prophetic intercession.
-
Can intervene. It can change the course of history.
-
Somebody's got to be in here. Being filled with
-
faith through these stories. And rise up and
-
say. I'm going to change history. I'm going to
-
rewrite the story. I'm going to believe. I'm
-
going to pray through until the story of this
-
city is rewritten. The story of my church is
-
rewritten. The story of my family is rewritten.
-
The story of my children is rewritten. I'm not
-
going to let the devil have them. I'm going to
-
intercede. I'm going to stand in the gap. I'm
-
going to press into God. I'm going to push out.
-
Romans chapter 5 verse 2. Through whom we have
-
gained access by faith into his grace. In which
-
we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the
-
glory of God. For through him we both have access
-
to the Father. Ephesians 2 verse 18. By one spirit.
-
Somebody say you have access. Abraham stood before
-
God. You and I can stand before God. Ephesians
-
3 verse 10 through 12. His intent was that now
-
through the church. Somebody say through the
-
church. The bountiful wisdom of God should be
-
made known to the rulers and authorities and
-
heavenly realms. According to his eternal purpose
-
that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.
-
In him and through faith in him we may approach
-
God with freedom and confidence. The same confidence
-
that Abraham came before God. This is in no way.
-
Trying to teach you disrespect towards the Lord.
-
Trying to teach you that you have been granted
-
access. Maybe others cannot come in before the
-
presence of God. But the blood of Jesus allows
-
you to come in. To the very holy place. Into
-
the very throne room of God. I believe the church.
-
Is the one that's going to declare the manifold
-
wisdom of God. The multi -sided wisdom of God.
-
When people think. There's no answer. The church
-
is going to speak an answer because it's been
-
in the presence of God. And guess what? When
-
it says that, they're going to show that to the
-
principalities and powers of the air. Things
-
angels long to see, they're longing to hear.
-
They're longing to get revelation. I believe
-
that the church has access into the very throne
-
of God. Get a hold of divine information that
-
not even the angels know. Because they're not
-
omniscient. Only God is. But when the church
-
hears what the omniscient God sees of the future.
-
It can come down and begin to prophesy and speak.
-
And out of the church come directives. The dispatch
-
of angel forces. Angel armies are dispatched
-
by the sound of the voice of a church. They're
-
waiting. I believe angels are poised for battle.
-
Just waiting for a directive from the church.
-
A church that has not spoken but is going to
-
speak. A church that's going to understand. that
-
it has an authority to change history and to
-
even command the forces of heaven to line up
-
with the heart of God. Are you with me? That's
-
the manifold wisdom of God. It's not just for
-
demons to hear it. It's for the authorities and
-
principalities of the air. Everybody falls into
-
line. Hebrews 4 verse 16. Let us then approach
-
God's throne. Hebrews 4 verse 16. Let us then
-
approach God's throne of grace. with confidence
-
so that we may receive mercy and find grace to
-
help us in a time of need. Grace and help in
-
the time of need. But you've got to approach
-
with confidence. Well, we need intercessors that
-
learn how to be confident in the Holy Ghost and
-
understand what your place is. You have the right.
-
Do you know the Bible speaks about Lucifer? It
-
speaks about Lucifer both in Ezekiel and Isaiah
-
14, Ezekiel 28. You can read this. It says that
-
he walked among the stones of fire. Speaking
-
of the very throne room of God, he had authority.
-
He could come in and out of the very holy place
-
as Lucifer, the illuminated angel. But he was
-
kicked out of heaven and he was replaced. Not
-
with another angel, not with another archangel.
-
but with the church. You and I can now ascend
-
by the Spirit. We have access. We can walk among
-
the stones of fire. We can hear the counsel of
-
God. God, what do you think? Lord, what are you
-
thinking? What's on your heart for this couple?
-
What's on your heart for this person I'm counseling?
-
Lord, as I'm praying and you're in prayer, you've
-
ascended on high and you've heard from God. Wouldn't
-
it be great to enter a counseling meeting with
-
a word from God? with a directive from the Holy
-
Spirit because you've spent time before they
-
came into your office. You've already heard what
-
God wants to do in their life and you can speak
-
into their lives. Well, I believe it'd make counseling
-
a whole lot lighter for us. And we would see
-
people transform and change at the announcement
-
of the will of God for their lives. Would you
-
stand with me? Let's take a little break and
-
we'll come back. How many are enjoying this?
-
Are you challenged? Are you ready? To intercede.
-
Are you ready to walk into the very throne of
-
God with great confidence? Knowing that that's
-
your place. You and I now can enter in to the
-
very secret place of God. Hear the voice of the
-
Lord. Jeremiah speaks of it as standing in the
-
secret of God. Being able to stand in the secret
-
of God where you hear the secrets of God. Well,
-
I pray that God helps us. In and out, as we enter
-
in and out, we have access by the Holy Ghost
-
in a moment. It doesn't take long. It just takes
-
the right attitude of prayer. It takes a faith,
-
understanding, and the grace that has been allotted
-
to us. We have a grace that allows us to step
-
into the very throne room of God. Help us, Lord,
-
during this break time, and help us to adhere
-
to your word as we seek to change history. In
-
Jesus' name, amen. Amen. Amen. Let's take about
-
a 10, 15 -minute break at max. There's still
-
some food out there, some coffee, bathroom break,
-
and then we'll come right back for part two of
-
the training session this morning. We'll see
-
you out there in just a little bit. 15 minutes
-
at max. Thank you. Well, spending time with the
-
Lord is key to any kind of ministry, especially
-
the ministry of intercessors. If you can't spend
-
time with God, if you can't find the discipline
-
to allot some time to be with the Lord, you know,
-
the psalmist made time. The Bible says that they
-
prayed numerous times. Especially the psalmist
-
would say in the morning I will seek you. Scripture
-
says he who seeks the Lord in the morning shall
-
find him. There's something about giving God
-
the first fruits of your strength every morning
-
when you get up. I encourage you to go before
-
the Lord the moment you get up and spend time
-
with the Lord. I want to draw your attention
-
to Isaiah chapter 15 verse 4 through 5. Isaiah
-
chapter 15 verse 4 through 5. So this sovereign
-
Lord, this is Isaiah, who's a great prophet and
-
an intercessor. And he spent a lot of time trying
-
to get the word of God to encourage the people
-
of God. And before he could be that prophetic
-
voice, he talks about how his training went.
-
Sovereign Lord has given me a well -instructed
-
tongue to know the word that sustains the weary.
-
He wakens me morning by morning. He awakens my
-
ear to listen like one being instructed. The
-
sovereign Lord has opened my ears, and I have
-
not been rebellious. I have not turned away.
-
Well, here Isaiah is prophesying, and this scripture
-
actually is a Messianic scripture. You'll read
-
the next verse talks about the pulling of the
-
beer and the striking. It's about Jesus. But
-
here, there's an instruction on how God raises
-
people to be prophetic intercessors, people who
-
can hear the voice of God. Well, we all want
-
to speak the right words. How many of you want
-
to have the right words to speak to somebody?
-
How many want to have an instructed tongue like
-
this scripture says? Well, he boasts of this.
-
He says, the Lord has given me a well -instructed
-
tongue or the tongue of a disciple. Another translation
-
says, to know the word. To know the word that
-
sustains the weary. To have the right word to
-
lift people up. That's the whole motivation here.
-
To be able to speak into people's lives and encourage
-
them. And then he goes about how to gain that
-
instructed tongue. He says, he awakens me morning
-
by morning. He awakens my ear to listen as one
-
being instructed. The way to an instructed tongue
-
is having an ear that's instructed. It's having
-
the ear open, the ear of a disciple. People can
-
be here and not have an open ear. You can spend
-
the whole morning here and not have an open ear
-
and walk away without receiving what God wants
-
to teach you. God wants to awaken all of our
-
ears. He wants to cause our ears to be right,
-
ready to receive. And he wants to do it in a
-
consistent way. I like the way that he shares
-
it. He awakens me morning by morning. Somebody
-
say morning by morning. Well, it's great to have
-
an alarm to wake you up in the morning, but it's
-
even more precious when you spend so much time
-
with God that you hear his whisper in the middle
-
of your sleep. That he can awaken you and say,
-
wake up. And sometimes it's not the time you
-
want to wake up because God... How many of you
-
have been woken up at some ungodly time? Well,
-
it's really a godly time. It's God's time because
-
he wants you to intercede, wants you to pray.
-
I've been awakened by God to avert a disaster
-
in my own family, to pray for my grandchildren
-
and my children through my 43 years of listening
-
to God and having an ear. I've watched God spending
-
time with him, how he has awakened me, where
-
everybody else is asleep. to awake me. Sometimes
-
my wife and I have been awakened at the same
-
time with the same burden to pray for people.
-
The Holy Spirit speaks to us and we get up and
-
we are actually hearing the voice of the Lord
-
and we go into prayer and intercede and we know
-
that our prayers are effective and that something
-
is happening because he woke us up to intercede
-
and then to pray for people and then God opens
-
the door for us to speak to those people. That
-
we have the right words. So before you have the
-
right words. You got to have the right ears.
-
You got to have open ears. The ears of a disciple.
-
So you can have the tongue. An instructed tongue.
-
You must have an instructed ear. It says he awakens
-
my ear to listen like one being instructed. God
-
wants to give you instructions. He wants to speak
-
to you. He wants to awaken you in the morning
-
hours. And tell you what is going to take place
-
in the rest of your day. He might give you some
-
details. Might even show you some faces. Might
-
even tell you and schedule some divine appointments
-
for your life. The sovereign Lord has opened
-
my ears. What a powerful thing to know that God
-
is at work opening the ears of the church. And
-
it was Jesus who said, he who has an ear, let
-
him hear what the spirit is saying to the church.
-
How many know that it's the spirit of God that
-
wants to speak into your ear? It is the Spirit
-
of God who right now, even you might be in a
-
conference like this on prophetic intercession,
-
but the Holy Spirit is speaking to you some very
-
direct things that some people have already walked
-
up to me and says, while you were speaking, God
-
spoke to me about doing this and doing that.
-
And there's been a number of instructions that
-
have gone on by the Holy Ghost outside of my
-
notes. They're better than my notes. They're
-
the instructions of the Holy Spirit for your
-
life. And you do well to pay heed to them. Well,
-
all of us want to have the right words at the
-
right time. time. And prophetic intercession
-
is praying in the Spirit. I want to talk to you
-
about in this session about praying in the Spirit
-
and praying the will of God. Prophetic intercession
-
is praying in the Spirit. Praying in the Spirit
-
is praying in tongues. Praying in the Spirit
-
is praying in tongues. Let me qualify this with
-
the word. 1 Corinthians 14 verse 2. For anyone
-
who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people
-
but to God. Indeed, no one understands them.
-
They utter mysteries by the Spirit. They utter
-
mysteries by the Spirit. They don't speak to
-
men. They speak to God. When you and I pray in
-
our prayer language, we pray to God. On 1 Corinthians
-
chapter 14, verse 14 through 15. For if I pray
-
in a tongue, my spirit prays. If I pray in a
-
tongue, what? My spirit prays. But my mind is
-
unfruitful. So what shall I do? I will pray with
-
my spirit, but I will also pray with my understanding.
-
I will sing with my spirit. Somebody say, sing
-
with my spirit. So how many of you have ever
-
sung in tongues? You need to begin to practice
-
what the word teaches. Sing in the spirit. Sing,
-
speak in tongues and sing in tongues in the presence
-
of the Lord. But I will also sing with my understanding.
-
Thank God that many of us are singing with our
-
understanding and the church is full of singers
-
who can sing with their understanding, sing with
-
their language they understand. But I believe
-
God wants to usher the church into those moments
-
of prophetic intercession where we are actually
-
praying in the Spirit, singing in the Spirit,
-
and we can get lost in God as a congregation
-
doing it in the Spirit. Well, there's a lot of
-
teaching coming against this, people trying to
-
extract speaking in tongues out of the church.
-
And no longer do you see the actual speaking
-
in tongues to the church. With the interpretation.
-
The gift of interpretation is no longer seen.
-
Something that needs to be restored back in our
-
midst. It's good to prophesy. Because everybody
-
gets edified. But if someone does speak in tongues
-
to the church. Then there should be an interpretation.
-
And remember that when you speak in tongues.
-
There are mysteries. There are things hidden
-
that God wants to reveal. So I believe that praying
-
in the spirit. prophetic intercession. It's praying
-
in the Spirit, praying like the Scripture says.
-
Listen to another Scripture, Ephesians 6, verse
-
17 through 18. Take the helmet of salvation and
-
the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of
-
God. The sword of the Spirit, which is what?
-
The Word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all
-
occasions. Not just a little while, but on all
-
occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.
-
This in mind, be alert. Always keep on praying
-
for all the Lord's people. So pray in the Spirit
-
on all occasions. This is a command of God. This
-
is a command from the apostles. You and I are
-
to be a praying church. The church is to be a
-
church that just only prays with its understanding.
-
But that enters in to praying in the Spirit.
-
And I so love the atmosphere that is created
-
in this church having learned that. I'm speaking
-
to a mature church. You walk into this place
-
and there's people praying in the Spirit all
-
over the place. The pastor, he's lost in the
-
presence of God. But the altar is all about.
-
The altar is a place where the lost get found
-
and the found get lost. Amen? And we need to
-
be able to enter into that presence of God and
-
just spend time in God. And I love the meekness
-
of your pastor. Though there are things that
-
need to be done, he will not interrupt that move
-
of God. He will allow, he'll be sensitive to
-
want to wait on God. Can you give the Lord a
-
big hand for a Holy Ghost filled pastor? Hallelujah.
-
It's that waiting on the Lord. It's that waiting
-
and praying in the Spirit. It's important. Many
-
churches have walked away from this. Many churches
-
are leaving that for the prayer room. I think
-
it should be an expression in the local church
-
and our gatherings. Praying in the spirit. Let
-
the people come. Listen, the visitors will think
-
you're strange at first. But then when you begin
-
to pray in our understanding, wisdom will come
-
to them. And they'll come to par. We think we
-
need to change everything to try to make everybody
-
comfortable. Some people need to be shocked.
-
Some people need to be moved and shaken and understand
-
that, hey, we live in a whole other world in
-
the kingdom of God. This praying in the spirit
-
is the life of the spirit. river in this house
-
that flows out of the innermost being of people's
-
lives. So it has this place. And Ephesians 6
-
tells us, take up the helmet of salvation and
-
the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of
-
God. How many of you can intercede with the Word
-
of God? Pray with the Word of God. Pray with
-
the Word of God. Pray the actual literal Word
-
of God. Begin to pray and then enter into the
-
Spirit and begin to pray in the Spirit. 1 Corinthians
-
14, again, verse 39 through 40 says, Therefore
-
my brothers and sisters be eager to prophesy
-
and do not forbid speaking in tongues. Don't
-
prohibit it. Yet we have all kinds of leaders
-
trying to take that out of the church because
-
we want to be a friendly user church. We want
-
to be friendly and kind. And I believe that.
-
I believe we all need to be, you know. Everything
-
can be done like this scripture says, but everything
-
should be done in a fitting and orderly way.
-
And somebody could get up and do an explanation.
-
This is what we do in our church. We used to
-
have brochures in our church years ago just teaching
-
people this is what you can expect in our service.
-
They'll be shouting. They'll be raising of hands.
-
They'll be speaking in other tongues. And we
-
explained that with verses. And they would read
-
it before the service. They were greeted by ushers
-
with those things in hand. And people kind of
-
got prepared. Okay, this is it. We never saw
-
anybody walk out in the midst of confusion. Actually,
-
everybody who visited the church was touched
-
by the power of God. And we saw them added to
-
the house of God. We saw a tremendous harvest
-
in a number of years. just did what the word
-
said. Somebody say practice the word. Amen. You
-
can never go wrong obeying God. Now God gives
-
us wisdom and understanding and your leaders
-
set the course in the culture of this church.
-
But I'm here to tell you that the culture of
-
the church is a spirit filled culture. It's a
-
culture of praying people who pray in the spirit,
-
intercessors. And not just a few, huh? Listen,
-
can I encourage you to get so fanatic about this,
-
so on fire for this, become passionate about
-
prayer and intercessory prayer to where you become
-
contagious? And you begin to infiltrate the church
-
and everybody who's around who didn't come to
-
the conference will get ignited this Sunday because
-
there's a fire that's going to get started here.
-
And as you rekindle that fire and you come in
-
Sunday, you come in with a praying voice. Amen.
-
Prayer has a voice. Let it be heard. Prayer has
-
a voice. Let that intercession rise. I guarantee
-
you people will begin to hear praying in this
-
house. Pray with your understanding, but also
-
pray in the spirit. When it's time to pray in
-
the spirit, let's pray in the spirit. So Romans
-
chapter 8 verse 26 through 27. In the same way
-
the Spirit helps us in our weaknesses. In our
-
weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray
-
for. But the Spirit himself intercedes for us.
-
Through wordless groans. And he who searches
-
our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit. Because
-
the Spirit intercedes for God's people. In accordance
-
with the will of God. We need the Holy Spirit.
-
Teaching us how to pray. Because we don't know
-
how to pray. We don't know really. How should
-
we pray? What should we pray? So the Holy Spirit
-
can guide us. Make intercession for us. And even
-
in our weakest moments. When it's that time when
-
you can't see. You can't see clear. You're in
-
that. where you're not feeling so strong, you're
-
going through some trouble, well, that's a good
-
time to pray in the Spirit. That's a good time
-
to get around a few brethren and say, can you
-
guys join me? I want to pray in the Spirit. I'm
-
a little weak right now. I'm being challenged
-
by the enemy. There's some things going on. I'm
-
physically challenged or whatever it is that
-
is going on. But pray in the Spirit. And as you
-
pray in the Spirit, I believe God will bring
-
answers to you. And there will be a refreshing
-
that comes from the presence of the Lord. Amen?
-
As we just allow the Holy Spirit to pour out
-
of the church, out of us as we pray in the Spirit.
-
I believe that he wants to pray in accordance
-
with the will of God. And prophetic intercession
-
is praying the will of God. Prophetic intercession
-
is praying the will of God. It's not just prayer.
-
It's praying what God wants you to pray about.
-
It's praying with the Spirit, which is praying
-
the will of God. When we pray in tongues, we
-
pray the will of God by the Holy Spirit. which
-
always guarantees God's answers. Prophetic intercession
-
turns intercession into a master key. Somebody
-
say master key. Opening that which is shut and
-
shutting that which is open. When you can discern,
-
wait a minute, this is not. God's will. I'm going
-
to shut this thing down. I'm going to shut that
-
door. But it has the power to know when you know
-
it's the will of God, when the Holy Spirit reveals
-
it, you can open the door through prayer. You
-
can open the door and no man can shut it. There's
-
an authority that comes through prophetic intercession
-
that puts a master key in your hand. How many
-
want to be able to close doors where nobody can
-
open them and open doors that nobody can shut?
-
You can do it for your family. You can do it
-
for the church. You can do it for a city. I believe
-
we have the power to shut things down. And we
-
have the power to start things up. Can you say
-
amen? And all of heaven will work with the church.
-
So praying in the spirit. 1 John chapter 5, 14
1 John 5 chapter mention
-
through 15 says, This is the confidence that
-
we have in approaching God. That if we ask anything
-
according to his will, he hears us. And if we
-
know that he hears us, whatever we ask. We know
-
that we have what we ask of him. What a powerful
-
scripture. Well, if we could just pray every
-
time this way, according to the will of God.
-
Well, most of the time we pray and we have no
-
knowledge of what God's will is. We have knowledge
-
of what our wants are, but not of the will of
-
God. But if we could just align ourselves by
-
the spirit in praying, praying the will of God.
-
I believe God wants to reveal that. Sometimes
-
you'll be praying in the spirit. The more you
-
enter into this realm, you'll be praying over
-
people and it will almost seem like it's a prophecy
-
because you'll be praying their life. You'll
-
be praying out their problem. How many of you
-
have ever prayed for somebody and they said,
-
how did you know I was going through that? And
-
they didn't tell you, didn't have a chance to
-
ask, what can I pray for? But you started praying
-
and it was almost like the Holy Spirit was guiding
-
you. Well, that's intercessory, prophetic intercessory
-
prayer. It begins to reveal the very heart of
-
the people, the problems, and it begins to reveal
-
the heart of God. It's mixed in with the gifts.
-
Get stirred up as you begin to pray. All of a
-
sudden the gift of discerning comes in. And you
-
begin to discern in the midst of your prayer.
-
You begin to pick something up. And the word
-
of knowledge now comes into play. And you begin
-
to see something that was secretly hid. The issue
-
of the problem. And then the word of wisdom comes.
-
And you begin to pray and answer. Right there.
-
All. It all happens in the midst of a prayer.
-
And it's probably one of the most incredible
-
times. That you and I can experience as we pray
-
over people. Well the Holy Spirit wants to teach
-
all of us. of us how to pray that way. What if
-
the whole church got ignited with this? What
-
if the church got mobilized into our community
-
praying? And every time we saw an opportunity,
-
we jumped on it. Don't let an opportunity pass
-
you. Pray in the spirit, not just within the
-
four walls of the church, but in the marketplace,
-
in the school, wherever you are at. I believe
-
that you and I can pray people out of darkness
-
into the kingdom of light. We can pray them out
-
of ignorance into wisdom. We can pray them out
-
of distress into peace. We can pray them out
-
of conflict into the great grace of God. Can
-
you say amen? Well, I believe that God wants
-
to do that. As we begin to pray in the Spirit,
-
we learn how to pray the will of God. Prophetic
-
intercession is praying the will of God. It's
-
praying what He asked of us. It's praying in
-
such a way that you are going to reveal the issues
-
at hand. And people will say, God is in this
-
place. God is speaking to you. God is for me.
-
He knows what I'm going through. And it begins
-
to reveal that prophetic element of prayer that
-
sometimes is lacking. Well, we have shrunk down
-
in our churches all over the world where even
-
leaders don't pray anymore by the Spirit. They
-
have to think everything through, and with their
-
intellect, they've replaced the Spirit's wisdom
-
for their own wisdom. They write out all their
-
prayers. I've been in churches where there's
-
been a prayer written for every part of the service.
-
And I've walked into pulpits where the pastor
-
has prayers written down for the offering, prayer
-
written down for everything. Nothing by the Holy
-
Ghost. Everything is read. Most of the... places
-
where some of the great men of God are asked
-
to pray, in some of the high places, like in
-
the White House, they write out their prayers.
-
And actually, they have to be written out, some
-
of them. Some of them are lifeless, while others
-
are filled with inspiration of the Holy Ghost.
-
And I believe God can use you to write a prayer
-
to somebody. but there's something about that
-
spontaneous inspiration of a Holy Ghost in the
-
midst of a service when you're praying for somebody
-
on the streets where you begin to get the mind
-
of God. Don't let opportunity pass you. When
-
you see somebody sick, step in and say, can I
-
pray for you? Listen, most people will receive
-
you. and I've watched this happen Giselle and
-
I practice this everywhere we go on airports
-
and restaurants everywhere we go we will pray
-
for people and we would just say a simple prayer
-
but in the prayer the Holy Spirit begins to move
-
and all of this word of knowledge begins to flow
-
and before you know it we're praying their very
-
life and they're beginning to weep and cry and
-
brokenness happens you've seen it God wants to
-
do more of it come on somebody say there's more
-
That's right. And I believe we can turn our world
-
around as we reach them by praying according
-
to the will of God. He hears us when we pray
-
the will of God. Things will begin to set into
-
motion. And what we ask, we know that we have
-
what we ask for. Bible says that we don't receive
-
because we've asked with the wrong motivation.
-
But when we ask according to the will of God,
-
we will have it. It might delay, but it's on
-
its way. Amen? Because you've prayed the will
-
of God. And if you can just lock into the will
-
of God through the revelation of the Holy Spirit,
-
I guarantee you, you're going to see miracles.
-
You're going to see answer prayer. You're going
-
to see things that you've been waiting for all
-
of a sudden break loose as you begin to pray
-
by the Spirit of God. As you begin to pray in
-
the Spirit. Even as you pray in the Spirit, the
-
quickening of the Holy Ghost, you might not even
-
understand what you're uttering, but the Holy
-
Spirit will begin to flood your mind and your
-
soul with thoughts that the Holy Spirit wants
-
you to have. And He will give you understanding.
-
Somebody say, pray in the Spirit. In all occasions.
-
Amen. You and I must be people who learn how
-
to pray in the Spirit. Let me give you a little
-
bit. It's what we call the seven, I call them
-
the seven Ps of prayer. Simple, but I want to
-
impart them to you as we come to an end of this
-
morning. We'll have more to share about prayer
-
tonight, but I know you want to spend your afternoon
-
doing it, maybe going out and praying, practicing
-
some of this on some people. But seven Ps of
-
prayer. Praise, purpose, provision, purity, protection.
-
and proclaiming or proclamation. I believe that
-
everything should start with praise and intercessory
-
prayer should start with praise. And so I love...
-
The atmosphere that the musicians set in this
-
place as praise begins to go up before the Lord,
-
as we begin to magnify him and thank him out
-
of a spirit of thanksgiving. And that purpose,
-
now you begin to lock in to purpose. And the
-
purpose of the service or the purpose of that
-
moment is beginning to be revealed. That provision
-
of God begins to come in and God begins to flood
-
you with provision, purity, protection, priorities,
-
and proclaiming. These are what I call the seven
-
Ps. They're found in the Lord's Prayer. Listen
-
to it in Matthew chapter 6. Let me have the freedom
Matthew 6 chapter mention
-
to apply these to Matthew chapter 6. When the
Matthew 6 chapter mention
-
disciples asked the Lord to teach us how to pray,
-
He said, when you pray, pray after this manner.
-
Therefore pray, yea. In verse 9 of Matthew 6.
-
I put the word praise there. Our Father which
-
art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Let it start
-
with praise. Let it start with you magnifying
-
the Lord. I think as we approach the throne of
-
God every time, we need to come with a heart
-
of thanksgiving. We live in an ungrateful generation,
-
but the church has got to be taught to be grateful.
-
Thank God for his mercy. How many can give the
-
Lord a big clap offering for his grace, his mercy
-
on your life? Our Father which art in heaven,
-
hallowed be your name. You're magnifying him.
-
You're praising him. And then verse 10 brings
-
us into purpose. Thy kingdom come, thy will be
-
done in earth as it is in heaven. The Lord taught
-
his disciples how to pray purposefully. The purpose
-
of God was to bring the kingdom to earth. Whatever
-
he's done in heaven, he wants to do it on earth.
-
Let thy kingdom come and thy will be done as
-
it is in heaven. Let it be done in earth as it
-
is in heaven. Well, that's the purpose of God,
-
wanting to manifest his kingdom on earth. And
-
I believe that's the purpose of God. You and
-
I have got to enter in. Once we start with praise,
-
enter in. Listen, I don't want to lock you into
-
some order. This is not some technique that you
-
lock in some kind of... Secret code of prayer.
-
No, I'm talking about some things that need to
-
be part of your prayer. You've got to lock in
-
with purpose. Why am I praying? What's the main
-
purpose of my intercessory prayer? Amen. And
-
you've got to lock into that. Thy kingdom come,
-
thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven.
-
Well, and put that in the right priority because
-
the kingdom comes before the will. You can't
-
perform the will of God unless you come under
-
his rule. But when his kingdom comes, when you
-
come under the rule of the Lord, the king of
-
a kingdom, then his will begins to be established.
-
There's a purposeful prayer. And then 11, provision.
-
Somebody say provision. Provision. Give us this
-
day our daily bread. It's amazing. Jesus included
-
this right in this prayer. Provision. Because
-
sometimes we forget to pray for the provision.
-
We pray. For some of the things that we feel.
-
We got purpose. But there's got to be a provision.
-
Because purpose cannot be fulfilled without provision.
-
You need provision. Amen. It takes money to fulfill
-
the will of God. You need the provision of God.
-
God pays for what he orders. But somebody's got
-
to dare to cry out. And cry out for provision.
-
God, give us provision. Give us this day our
-
daily bread. And the simple prayer of Jesus is
-
provision. How about verse 12? Purity. and forgive
-
us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Now,
-
here is forgiveness, purity with God, and purity
-
with man. You've got to stand pure with God,
-
and when you come to prayer, make sure you're
-
cleansed. Who can ascend the hill of the Lord?
-
He who has clean hands and a pure heart. Amen?
-
So we've got to be able to cleanse ourselves.
-
We've got to be able to go before the Lord. There's
-
teaching on grace right now that says we don't
-
even have to repent. That sinners don't have
-
to repent and believers don't have to repent.
-
We've already been forgiven. It doesn't matter.
-
God's forgiven you for all the sins. Whether
-
or not you have already been forgiven, I believe
-
our sins have been taken on the cross of Calvary.
-
You and I must humble ourselves and continually
-
ask God, God, if I've offended you this day,
-
if I've messed up, would you forgive me? Forgive
-
me. me for trespassing. Forgive me for disobeying.
-
Forgive me for not doing what you called me to
-
do. How many of you know that we need to keep
-
that humility about us? Because of his mercy
-
we are not destroyed. Because of his grace. And
-
live in that mercy and that grace of God. You
-
can't separate mercy from grace. They work together
-
in our lives. Mercy keeps us from getting what
-
we deserve. And grace Assures. That we get what
-
we didn't deserve. Are you with me? Mercy. And
-
somebody say mercy and grace. Don't let. The
-
preachers. The modern preachers of grace. Take
-
you out of mercy and grace. You need both of
-
these things. Purity. Somebody say purity. Because
-
we need to be. Have pure hearts. Before God.
-
But if we. Have not been forgiven. And we can't
-
feel. Because. The enemy is quick. And the Bible
-
says if your heart condemns you, God is greater
-
than your heart. The enemy will work in condemnation
-
to keep you from interceding. Who are you to
-
come before God? I saw what you did. You messed
-
up. And before you know it, he's talked you out
-
of your time of prayer. That very thing that
-
will strengthen you. Listen, there is a great
-
warfare going on. And it's not just against the
-
prophetic voice of the Lord in the church. But
-
his main battle is against prayer. If he can
-
just keep the church without praying. If he can
-
just keep the church condemned and feeling that
-
you can't approach the throne of God. That you
-
don't, no, no, no, don't go before him. It's
-
that spirit of Absalom. The king is busy, don't
-
bother him. That comes into the church and dupes
-
the church to believing that somehow God is not
-
hearing your prayer. Listen, God hears your prayer
-
and he's ready to answer. And you've got to come
-
with a prayer. pure heart and say, God, enter
-
in with that kind of humility, that brokenness,
-
a contrite and a broken heart. God will not reject.
-
He will receive you. Come always before the Lord
-
with that humility that says, God, forgive us.
-
Forgive our debts. If we've offended you in any
-
way, forgive us. But not only that, take it a
-
step further because it's not just purity with
-
God. God's looking for purity with people. God
-
wants you to have a pure heart towards people
-
because I've watched people who hate their neighbor
-
and want to still pray. animosity in the church
-
they're talking bad and murmuring about people
-
but then they want to be the intercessors as
-
a matter of fact they use intercession as a tool
-
to get their gossip out brethren get together
-
let's pray oh sister so and so is pregnant and
-
they bring out some secret thing from people's
-
lives and they try to make it public but it's
-
just to get the word out And God knows the motives
-
of the heart. I think we need to be transparent.
-
But I think we need to be careful that we have
-
a pure heart towards another. Sometimes there's
-
anger and there's offenses that are unresolved.
-
And we try to pray. Listen, even for husbands,
-
the Bible says that if you're offended at your
-
wife, don't even think that God's going to hear
-
your prayer. Until you get it right. Hello? Wow.
-
I'm not going to ask for forgiveness. I'm always
-
the one that has to ask for forgiveness. You
-
better. And you better do it quickly if you want
-
to be heard from God. And you better be able
-
to forgive. If people have offended you, forgive
-
them. Because the next scripture right after
-
this whole passage, verse 14 is, if you don't
-
forgive, next time you go before the Lord, God
-
is not going to forgive you. So you have to have
-
a pure heart. Somebody say purity. All right,
-
let's go over them. Praise. Purpose. Provision.
-
Purity. And verse 13 says protection. Come on,
-
somebody say protection. And lead us not into
-
temptation, but deliver us from evil. Lead us
-
not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
-
How many think that's protection? Jesus was teaching
-
you need to pray for protection. The eyes of
-
the Lord are running to and fro, and those who
-
abide under the shelter of the Most High are
-
safe. But there is a prayer of protection that
-
we need to continually pray. I believe in that.
-
I'm constantly on a plane. I don't miss that
-
prayer of protection. Lord, protect me. I'm getting
-
on this plane. I know I'm your servant, but I
-
don't take that for granted. I bind every force
-
of evil. In the midst of this world full of terrorism,
-
it will not touch my plane. I'm going to ride.
-
With great peace. I'm going to fall asleep. And
-
rise up at my destination. Hello. Not in heaven
-
somewhere. But at my destination. And I believe.
-
If I couldn't believe. For the protection of
-
the almighty. I wouldn't do what I'm doing. God's
-
taking us to places. I was just talking. I was
-
in Peru last week. With David Schreck. Is it?
-
I think that's his last name. I might be pronouncing
-
it wrong. But David. Freck. Freck. I'm sorry.
-
Freck. Freck is the cartoon character. There
-
is a difference. Freck. Yes. Out of Kansas. And
-
he was telling me that one of his missionary
-
trips a number of years ago, he went into India
-
and while they were with a group of people and
-
they were told not to evangelize out in the streets,
-
they were in a compound and doing well, but the
-
word got out and people, somebody brought a blind
-
child into the meeting. They traveled for long
-
hours to get this child there and so they had
-
compassion and laid hands on this child just
-
to pray. And while David laid hands on him, the
-
child's eyes were open and he began, he saw.
-
His eyes were healed. And forget it, that was
-
a moment of revival. The word got out and people
-
started flooding that church. Police had to come.
-
Well, to make a long story short, he got arrested
-
with the rest of the team. And for six days,
-
they kept him. And they prayed and they were...
-
not given any food in the quarters in a little
-
room after being two days transported in a truck
-
where they never even, they just kept them in
-
a truck for two days. Then they put them in a
-
prison. And then the officials of the city came
-
knowing that they were missionaries from America
-
and said, you know, we're trying to get you out
-
and we're gonna see if we can get you out, but
-
this might take six months to 10 years. And you
-
gotta be ready, make yourself ready. Well, then
-
they heard that news, they went before the Lord.
-
And as they began to pray, God showed up in that
-
cell. The spirit of the Lord came down and then
-
they began to sing. And as they began to sing
-
before the Lord, the guards started beating on
-
the windows. The guards were guarding that cell
-
and came close and said, where are all those
-
people? Where did they come from? Because they
-
heard all the voices singing. They heard a whole
-
crowd of people singing. It was just a few missionaries.
-
But they heard a multitude of people singing.
-
Everybody heard it. All the guards heard it.
-
The prisoners heard it. Everybody was talking
-
about that whole voice. Everybody got close.
-
The guards were questioning them with force.
-
Where are they? Where did they go? It was just
-
us. The Spirit of God showed up. Angels showed
-
up. Great comfort. Presence of God came down
-
in 24 hours. They were released from that place.
-
And God spared their lives. Give the Lord a big
-
hand. There's something about prophetic intercession.
-
David said, I stepped into heaven. We had been
-
praying for six days. But that day, it was different.
-
That day, I just slipped into heaven. In a moment,
-
I found myself in heaven. And the Lord spoke
-
to me and said, stop crying. I'm going to deliver
-
you. And when I came back to my senses, I told
-
that word and all of them had heard the same
-
thing from God. And so God is the God who shows
-
up in the middle of your darkness. He'll speak
-
to you. I believe that you and I need to pray
-
protection. And protection will come. He's the
-
keeper of his word and the keeper of his church.
-
Can you say amen? Somebody say protection. Pray
-
protection over your children. Pray protection
-
over your church. Pray protection over your city.
-
Pray, pray, pray. Pray protection over the families.
-
Pray protection over the youth of this city.
-
Pray the protection of God. Walk through the
-
schools. Not just your school, but other schools.
-
Walk through the universities. Walk through.
-
You're in a campus city where there's universities
-
all around you. Walk through those campuses.
-
Begin to pray. Make intercession. And begin to
-
call out on God for protection. And watch what
-
will happen. Lead us not into temptation, but
-
deliver us from evil. Somebody say deliver us.
-
Deliver us. From evil. And then priority. Somebody
-
say priorities. Priorities. Priorities. A priority
-
is here when he says, for thine is the kingdom
-
and the power and the glory forever. The priority
-
of all of our prayer is to bring a manifestation
-
of the kingdom of God and to say to God, yours
-
is the kingdom. The power and the glory forever.
-
I believe you and I have got to lock in to the
-
priority. Amen. It's not the power of the enemy
-
that's going to be exalted in these last days.
-
He'll show up for sure. I believe we're moving
-
into a season of great turmoil on the face of
-
the earth. But in the midst of it, the power
-
and the glory. Amen? Of the kingdom of God are
-
going to be seen. I believe that God's going
-
to move in a spectacular way in our cities. People
-
are going to get saved. A great harvest is going
-
to be collected for the house of God. This church
-
is going to be filled over and over again in
-
the midst of trouble. God will move upon America.
-
God's not through with America. And it's not
-
dependent on one man being brought into the office.
-
God knows who he's going to bring and he knows
-
already it's set. But listen, it's dependent
-
on prophetic intercession and people who know
-
how to pray the will of God and begin to bring
-
priorities into focus. And ultimately... It's
-
that last word. It's a small word that ends the
-
prayer that he gave. That simple prayer ends
-
with an amen. But amen means let it be so. Amen
-
is a proclamation. It's that ability to say God's
-
going to do what he said. Amen. God is a keeper
-
of his promise. Amen. Somebody say amen. Sometimes
-
we say amen as a cliche and we don't even know
-
that we're proclaiming that God is a keeper of
-
his word. He says what he means and he means
-
what he says. And we've got to be able to proclaim
-
it. We've got to be able to back it up with an
-
amen. We've got to be able to be assured. And
-
say it again, amen. Somebody say praise. Purpose.
-
Provision. Purity. Protection. Priorities. Get
-
the priorities right. It's about his kingdom,
-
his power, and his glory. It's what's going to
-
make a difference. Proclamation. Proclamation.
-
Say amen. Well, 2 Corinthians 1 verse 20 says,
-
For no matter how many promises God has made,
-
they are yes in Christ. Somebody say yes. They
-
are yes in Christ. And so through him, the amen
-
is spoken by us to the glory of God. So through
-
him, the amen is spoken to the glory of God.
-
Would you stand? What promises? Have you heard
-
from God that you have forgotten to amen? What
-
promises do you need to go back to? Bring them
-
up. Some of the prophetic words. Bring them to
-
remembrance. And in prophetic intercession, what
-
promises have you heard over the church that
-
you can remind God to remember? And say, Lord,
-
you said this. You said this. The prophets spoke
-
it. In the mouth of two or three witnesses, every
-
word is established. And many prophets have spoken
-
the same word. We still haven't seen it come
-
to pass. There are promises that are a lot bigger
-
than us and they're reserved for a time of fulfillment.
-
But you and I need to live our life with a yes.
-
We need to live our life with an amen. We need
-
to live our lives with a proclamation of truth
-
that says God said it, he's going to do it. It's
-
going to happen and dare to prophesy. Amen. Amos
-
put it this way. If a lion roars, who will not
-
fear? If the Lord speaks, who shall not prophesy?
-
If God has spoken a word, you and I have got
-
to be able to proclaim it. You and I have got
-
to be able to repeat it. What authority. And
-
prophetic intercession is about praying the will
-
of God. Praying what we know has already been
-
spoken, what's already been written, what's already
-
been established by the mind of God. The Spirit
-
reveals it, He brings it to remembrance, and
-
you bring it out and proclaim it. And everyone
-
said, Amen. I believe today as we come before
-
the Lord, tonight we're going to gather again.
-
We're by no means over, but I felt we needed
-
to just go before the Lord this afternoon. I
-
believe that some of you this afternoon will
-
begin to touch people's lives with prayer. God
-
will begin to give you instructions on what to
-
do. Maybe you had your afternoon planned, but
-
God is going to give you his plan. Let him interrupt
-
you. It'll work out. Let him interrupt your schedule.
-
Let him ask you to step out and be obedient to
-
do what he tells you to do. Step out in faith.
-
Pray in a way that you've never prayed. Do something
-
that you've never done. Expect God to show up
-
in a powerful way, in an extraordinary way. He
-
will exceed all of your expectations. He will
-
do beyond that which you've waited for. Or maybe
-
some of the prophets have spoken some things.
-
I believe God wants to even do more as you dare
-
to believe. Faith in the word of God causes you
-
to be the instrument of change in your world.
-
And you can't intercede without faith. You can't
-
come before the Lord with a broken down faith
-
that just won't believe God that things will
-
ever change. There are people who want to pray
-
and their prayer is pitiful. We're going to die.
-
We're all at the end of our rope. Things are
-
really bad. Well, listen, CNN will tell you all
-
of that. Don't learn your prayer life from the
-
newscasters of our day. Learn it from the spirit
-
of God. Learn what the will of God is because
-
he knows what the right news is. And we're all
-
about good news, not bad news. Bad news doesn't
-
run the kingdom of God. It's good news. And it
-
comes to intercessors who by the spirit of praying,
-
entering into that place in heaven and are hearing
-
the voice of God to speak contrary to the voice
-
of men and establish the will of God. If you
-
have been challenged to pray that way, would
-
you just step out of your aisle and say, let's
-
just take a few moments and spend time in his
-
presence. Just maybe a few minutes of... Just
-
interceding in the Spirit. Maybe you've never
-
prayed in the Spirit. This is a good time to
-
believe God for your prayer language and get
-
filled with the Holy Ghost and begin to believe
-
God for the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Maybe
-
you have some friends around you that can pray
-
for you to get filled with the Holy Spirit. But
-
would you come and just approach the altar in
-
an attitude of intercession and say, Lord, here
-
we are. I want to come. I want to learn from
-
you. I want to learn all over again. I want to
-
be better at this. I want to pray more than I've
-
ever prayed. I want to be able to touch heaven.
-
I want to hear clearly. Give me the ear of an
-
instructor, of ears that are instructed of a
-
disciple. Open my ears that I might hear. Open,
-
open my ears. Awaken me. Awaken my ears, Lord,
-
that I might hear this one instructed by you.
-
Give me instructions. Help me. Help me to discern.
-
Help me to be able to stand in the gap with wisdom,
-
with understanding, with a prophetic insight.
-
Pray with wisdom. Pray to change my city. Pray
-
to change the course of history. Pray to change
-
the legacy of my family. Pray to bring change.
-
Just please, would you forget about your own
-
language and begin to pray in the Spirit? Let's
-
practice what the Bible says. Pray in the Spirit.
-
Pray in the Spirit. Pray loud enough so you can
-
hear yourself. Pray in the spirit. Some of you
-
need to break out a spirit of timidity. Let passion
-
overtake you in prayer. Thank you. All the apostles
-
prayed. He said. I pray that men would pray all
-
over the world with hands raised up to the Lord.
-
Would you raise your hands to God and begin to
-
pray now. Begin to ask God to move upon your
-
city. Begin to ask God to move upon your church
-
and your family. Upon the members of your house.
-
Members of the family. God will put on your spirit.
-
God will put burdens on you. Begin to pray. Pray,
-
pray, pray in the spirit. He'll put stuff in
-
your heart. He'll drop a word in your mind. A
-
picture. Just begin to pray for that which you
-
sense of the Holy Spirit. That which you perceive.
-
Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hey, Jen, would you just
-
now just do it in a song? Put a melody to that
-
and just sing in the spirit. I don't see what
-
you understand. Sing in the spirit. And listen,
-
follow your pastor. She just creates that melody.
-
Just let it come. Let it flow like a river. It's
-
got to be going to flow in this place. Come on.
-
Praise for Micah. Just listen to it. Listen to
-
it. Come on. Go ahead, Jenny. Go ahead. Let's
-
join her. Let's join her. Come on for a little
-
bit. Heavenly Father we thank you this morning.
-
Lord for infusion. Lord, now let grace come.
-
The grace of impartation. Lord, I think about
-
your words to the Apostle Paul to the church.
-
See that you excel in this grace also. The grace
-
of interceding. The grace of intercession. The
-
grace of petition. The grace of standing in the
-
gap. The grace. Lord, of being with you and being
-
able to talk with you, share our heart with you
-
and use your will with us. Lord, let an elevation
-
come to this house, to this people for the priority
-
and the beautiful nature of prayer. Remove every
-
form of... reproach or somehow diminished importance
-
and let a fresh crown of glory be placed on it
-
for the saints to wear it with honor with dignity
-
to be able to stand and approach the king and
-
to have what we pray be answered because we have
-
your heart and we've spoken your words we've
-
seen the power the proclamation, the praise,
-
the purity. Lord, the progress that you will
-
do in your name. Now bless these people. Lord,
-
as we move into just a break for this afternoon,
-
speak to us by the Spirit. Lord, as we come back
-
tonight to engage you more in Jesus' name. Amen.
-
Amen. We'll be back here at 6 o 'clock tonight.
-
So go get a little lunch, maybe get a little
-
nap, get a little prayer time in. God bless you.
-
We'll see you at 6 o 'clock tonight for a great
-
finishing time in the Spirit. Amen. LifeBibleChurch
