All right, well, we've had a Friday night meeting,
-
a Saturday morning breakfast, a Saturday night
-
meeting. It's been great, great deposit of the
-
Word of God. For those of you that, how many
-
have not heard Dr. Jan Venter? This is your first
-
time hearing him. Just kind of lift your hand.
-
Okay, I'm going to introduce him. He is formerly
-
from South Africa, and then he got saved and
-
came to the United States. No, I'm just giving
-
him a hard time. There's quite a, I can't go
-
into the lengthy history, but quite a history
-
of what God's done in and through his life. He's
-
been preaching the word of God for almost, what'd
-
you say, 48 years? 48 years. Man, you don't look
-
like that. I know, amazing. God has been good
-
to you. And he's been through quite a journey
-
with his life. He's here with his wife, Bessie,
-
and she's South African as well. They're both
-
now. Travel the United States of America and
-
abroad. Go back to South Africa frequently. I've
-
been with Jan to South Africa. We've done some
-
crusades there. He operates. He's been pastor,
-
evangelist, prophet. He operates at a lot of
-
things. He's earned his doctorate. He's an amazing
-
man. Speaks about six languages. Today, I'm hoping
-
you'll just stay with English. That would be
-
good. We love him, and he's a very close friend.
-
God knit our hearts together about 10 years ago.
-
So would you welcome Dr. Jan Venter as he comes
-
and brings the word this morning? Thank you.
-
Thank you so much. You may be seated. Thank you.
-
Thank you. So good to be here with you this morning.
-
I haven't taken time this week to talk to you
-
about what is in our product table, but I sure
-
want to encourage you to just stop there and
-
go and buy up everything I have there. And then
-
after you're done, leave an offering. But, you
-
know, our ministry, we try and absolutely be
-
open to minister wherever God opens doors. Many
-
times pastors of big churches have encouraged
-
me not to go to small churches. I'm serious because
-
they say it develops a stigma to your ministry.
-
I have decided to totally disregard, thank you,
-
that as total utter nonsense. It is tough sometimes,
-
you know, when you go to small churches, our
-
budget remains the same. And so to do that and
-
to get around that, we always ask people, if
-
you feel, and if you're in this service here
-
today and you feel encouraged by the Holy Spirit
-
to join us as a partner in our ministry. both
-
in prayer and doing something to help us financially
-
on a monthly basis, we would encourage you to
-
do that. Please do not take your tithe. Please
-
do not take anything that belongs to your church
-
or any commitments that you've spoken out towards
-
helping here at the church. Change that to support
-
us. But if you have room in your budget to...
-
maybe do $25 a month, please stop at our tape
-
table and just give my wife or somebody at the
-
table your information. And then we'll call you
-
once a month to pray with you and your family.
-
These books on the tape table, this one here
-
is for those of you that have the first volume.
-
This is the second book we're just now releasing.
-
It says, Can You Believe It? Every story in here
-
is true. And so... What I've done, these are
-
short, a compilation of short stories. And I've
-
written it in such a way that it became bathroom
-
reading material. You know, put it there and
-
really, you'll enjoy that. You'll find that life
-
becomes much more easier after you read one of
-
these stories. The other one is this little booklet
-
here. It's called The Broken Branch. It's a phenomenal
-
book in the sense pastors are actually ordering
-
these from us now, boxes full, and handing it
-
out to their people. We're dealing with a problem
-
in our society today that cannot be fixed up
-
with legislation. It cannot be fixed up with,
-
you know, with... by using the government. It's
-
a spiritual problem that God prophesied at the
-
end days will happen. You know, the hearts of
-
the children separated from the fathers and the
-
other way around. It's an epidemic that's taking
-
place here right now. I've called this book The
-
Broken Branch. And I know that a vast majority
-
of you here are struggling with situations like
-
that where you feel, you know, there's something
-
wrong in our family. Well, there really isn't,
-
but it's something that can be fixed up by turning
-
back to the ways of God on that situation. So
-
please get yourself a copy of that book. Put
-
it under your pillow. Sleep on it. Ask God to
-
make that your lifestyle. Many people have been
-
asking us for my testimony. This is my testimony
-
or one of many testimonies. This one deals with
-
my arm. For those of you that will see me preach
-
this morning and you'll wonder, you know, is
-
that guy double -jointed? Well, I'm not double
-
-jointed. It's just that I don't have an elbow.
-
And God miraculously, just totally miraculously,
-
decided to heal this arm. And for the sake of
-
heavenly humor, he decided to just leave my arm
-
the way it is. And people said, whoa, what's
-
going on there? Well, that's my chance to tell
-
you about the greatness of God. Then finally,
-
there's a book here. I've got about, I think
-
we brought about nine different books. You want
-
to stop there and look at them. This one here
-
is called, is titled, I Think God Likes Me. And
-
what it is, you know, people say, well, God don't
-
like me. He loves me. Big difference. Thank you,
-
Pastor. Will you throw that out to somebody that
-
wants it? Just one by one. Just throw it in.
-
Those are all his buddies. He's throwing it to
-
all his buddies. Yeah, the book is titled, I
-
Think God Likes Me. And people said to me, well,
-
God loves me. Big difference. How many of you
-
have children? Let me see your hands. How many
-
of you really, really love your children? Let
-
me see those hands. Now, one more question. How
-
many of you at times don't like them? You see,
-
you know, that's the way it is. That's the way
-
it is with God. He loves all of us, but you know
-
there's times when God don't like you. And so...
-
You got to read that book. It's really a good
-
book and some good illustrations in there also.
-
Take your Bible. I want to continue where I left
-
off on Friday night. We didn't get a chance to
-
really speak much or teach anything last night.
-
Wasn't it great the way that God... Thank you,
-
Pastor. Yes. Okay. Thank you. Wasn't it good
-
the way that the Holy Spirit worked here last
-
night? You know, and it's all God. Say it, it's
-
all God, okay? We are going to try and push this
-
through until noon hour and then see what happens
-
after that. But when it gets close to noon, pastor,
-
just wave at me, will you please? Thank you.
-
Also, just... Of course, we didn't have time
-
to hear her testimony, but here's Shiloh sitting
-
right here up front. She used to, yeah, Shiloh,
-
for those of you, come on, go ahead and give.
-
Come here, Shiloh. Come here quickly. Come here.
-
I think it's worth stopping. Yeah, Shiloh, if
-
you don't want to sit down right there, it's
-
fine. You know, she's young, and I know it's
-
hard for me to expose her in front of somebody
-
else. Hey, Shiloh. Look, Shiloh, look at Brother
-
Venter. It's okay. I'm going to just ask a question
-
and you just confirm it. Is that okay? You just
-
confirm it. And so I don't want to put her on
-
the spot. She used to get like, am I correct
-
that it was thousands of seizures a day? Am I
-
correct? Raise your hand and just say it's correct.
-
Yes. And then several years ago, God touched
-
her. And instantaneously, there's now no more
-
seizures. Is that correct? I mean, put your hand
-
up like that and just come on, give God a praise
-
offering. That's okay. We call that, we call
-
that, I call that supernatural. It's miraculous.
-
Or if you want to just get a short explanation
-
for something like that, it's spelled G -O -D.
-
God. Come on, give him a praise offering. It's
-
just the way it is. I also ask, before I start
-
here, I ask God, on my way here, this here, I
-
ask God, please give me a word for the church.
-
I feel so closely attached to the church and
-
to my friends, Pastor Brad and Sister Jenny and
-
the kids, Jackie and Jessie Jo, and then their
-
parents. I mean, and then you. I really should
-
be the other way around because you're the one
-
that gives the offering and they just write the
-
check. But I ask God for a word. And so here
-
is what God gave me. I put it down in writing.
-
So if you want to just get a copy of it, there
-
it is. So just give it to me so I can read it.
-
You know, the theme this week is God decides
-
and you choose. But I had nothing to do, you
-
know, this word has nothing to do with that.
-
It's just, I asked God, give it to me. So here
-
it is. Just let it roll because I don't have
-
it in front of me. So now that is wrong. That's,
-
just give me the, well, I've got it right here,
-
so. Yeah, got it? You know, here's the way. I
-
was never more ready to turn my back on a here
-
than last here. How many of you agree with that
-
one? I mean, I was really ready. I waited on
-
God for a word for you regarding 2018, but I
-
sense nothing new. Here it is. It'll be a challenging
-
here that lies ahead. But I see trophies all
-
around me. As I glance over the appearance of
-
2018, I see lion rugs, bear rugs. I see stuffed
-
up wolves around warm fireplaces. I see the eight
-
-foot spear of a defeated giant. Go ahead, give
-
him a praise offering. Yes, it will be a year
-
of accomplishments. Now remember, the Lord is
-
saying, many of you have started things in the
-
past with good intentions, but then you never
-
finished it. But I'm announcing this here to
-
be one of completeness. You will start and you
-
will finish it. This will also be a year of strong
-
commitments. While some will find pleasure in
-
remaining as mere spectators, I am placing a
-
strong desire in the hearts of my people here
-
at Harrisburg to commit. Yes, I'm bringing people
-
even from other corners to collect themselves
-
inside this stadium of gladiators. The term all
-
hell will break loose. Yeah, all hell will break
-
loose in the lives of some, but then all of heaven
-
will also break loose. And in this place, people
-
will know you are mine and I am yours. Therefore,
-
sharpen your swords, polish your shields, and
-
fill yourself with my bread, which I will provide
-
bountifully. Go ahead and praise him in the house.
-
Give me the next. Now, while I was waiting on
-
my knees, you know, for the Lord to give me all
-
of this, I kept on hearing the chants of spectators,
-
but they were not crying the usual USA, USA,
-
USA. But I heard them cry here out of this stadium
-
of gladiators. Emmanuel, Emmanuel, Emmanuel.
-
Come on, praise him, will you? Glory to God.
-
Now, the Lord is saying, raise my banner of victory
-
among yourselves and rejoice because this will
-
be the year of the following. Give me the next
-
slide. First of all, reconfirming, reconfirmation.
-
I reconfirm your call, Brad and Jenny, as my
-
shepherds. I reconfirm your call to this congregation
-
as my people. who are called by my name. And
-
I post this confirmation on the walls also of
-
your surroundings. Namely, you are my people
-
and I will answer you. Secondly, it will be a
-
year of reassignment. This will be a year of
-
reassignment. Some will step out and some will
-
step away. But for anyone leaving, there will
-
be a handful of others to take their place. I
-
will assign you and you will not feel out of
-
place, says the Lord. Come on, praise him. Glory
-
to God. Number three, God says this will be a
-
year of encounter. You've prayed and asked for
-
the outpouring of my spirit. Know this and remember
-
it. My spirit has indeed already been poured
-
out, but this will be the year of encounter.
-
This will be the year in which you will get to
-
know me like you've never known me before. You
-
will close 28th saying, it was a year unlike
-
any other. Yeah, come on, praise him. Glory to
-
God. You know, I thought this next one was just
-
absolutely powerful, the way God gave me this
-
one. God says, this will be a year of timekeepers.
-
Meaning, I am appointing you as the Ishikar kind
-
from the Torah tribe, who would bear the burden
-
for victory and wages. I want you to understand,
-
I want you to understand time and interpret my
-
word in connection of these times. I will connect
-
you to Zebulun because provision for the journey
-
and the supply for victory is very important.
-
Come on, give him another praise offering. Glory
-
to God. Switch it. Finally, make sure you remain
-
properly identified as my people. So remain to
-
be a humble people. remain to be a kind people
-
and remain to be a loving people and a submitted
-
people. Come on, give him. Stand with me, will
-
you please? Give the Lord a praise offering.
-
Come on. Now, while you remain standing, this
-
morning, Just as I'm about to send this to the
-
church for them to get it by email, the Holy
-
Spirit put this in my spirit and said, the heavens,
-
go and tell them the heavens are shouting with
-
you. Don't lose your excitement for what God
-
has called you to do. Your excitement excites
-
the Lord and his angels. It is your excitement.
-
In the face of your Jericho or the face of your
-
Goliath that will provide the victory for other
-
people. Glory. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Let's
-
pray together. Father, I lift up myself and these
-
people. And sure enough, my friends. Brad and
-
Jenny and their kids. Lord, I lift them up before
-
you. And I, first of all, want to say thank you
-
so much, Lord, for giving them to Basie and I
-
as an asset. We are, yes, Lord, they are an asset
-
even to your people here. They certainly are
-
an asset to your kingdom. And I want to pray,
-
Lord, that in this year that comes and lies ahead,
-
that they will get the opportunity to know you
-
more than ever before. Lord, that they may know
-
you as you are to be known. And finally, Lord,
-
I want to pray. Will you help them to understand
-
the times? The times, Lord, where we are right
-
now and the time where they are right now and
-
the time relating, Lord, to your spiritual river
-
that you have symbolically allowed them to be
-
placed right here on the corner as the river
-
is making a turn. Lord, let that be symbolic
-
as to what is happening in the life of Oregon
-
in Jesus' name. And we thank you, Lord. Give
-
him a hand clap of praise, will you? Glory to
-
God. Hallelujah. You may be seated. Thank you
-
very much. Boy, can you believe 15 minutes went
-
by for that one. And I got so much I want to
-
share with you. Our theme this weekend is, you
-
know, let, I mean, God decides and you choose.
-
You know, God is the one, and I'm not going to
-
have time to recap on what we said on Friday
-
night. I would highly recommend you get that
-
CD because the one leads up to where we are right
-
now. But it's very important that we get to a
-
place where we can understand God better. Because
-
as I go around in the world and after 48 years
-
of full -time ministry, I realize more and more
-
that people just don't know how God works. And
-
you understand that if you can understand better
-
how God functions, your faith level is going
-
to increase substantially. Faith does not need
-
any homework. Faith just needs to get to a place
-
where we comprehend. You see, because faith is,
-
faith is God in action. See, all we need to do
-
is just let faith rise up in our hearts by understanding
-
how God works. You understand when you listen
-
to how people pray. Oftentimes, people pray out
-
of ignorance. Fear, when you see people with
-
fear, they are afraid because they just don't
-
know God. You understand? In fact, John writes
-
very clearly, kind of a scary verse in 1 John
-
4, when he says that those who have fear have
-
no love. He says, in fact, when you have perfect
-
love, it casts out all fear. So he brings the
-
conclusion to that. Go and read 1 John 4. And
-
he says very clearly that if you have fear in
-
your heart, that means you really just don't
-
know God. You see, you know God, I mean, you
-
have fear in your heart because you've only read
-
or so about God. Once you understand who really
-
is on your side, then you will understand why
-
Paul writes very clearly to the Romans, since
-
God is for us. I know the modern translation
-
says if, but really, I want to just add my little
-
bit in there and call it since. Because God is
-
for you, right? And so since God, we're talking
-
about God. We're talking about Yahweh. We're
-
talking about Jehovah. We're talking about the
-
creator of heaven and earth. Since God is for
-
you, who can be against you? Yes. Now, it makes
-
it even better. It makes it better if you know,
-
you understand, if you know the amount has already
-
been deposited. If you know that you have to
-
go and draw $100, but yesterday you know that
-
your bank account was close to zero. Now you
-
want to go and draw your $100 that you need,
-
but you know, you saw it. It was posted. It was
-
brought under your attention. You checked it
-
out on the internet that an amount of a million
-
dollars has already been deposited into your
-
account. At first, you could not believe it.
-
But now you checked it over and over. You picked
-
up the phone. You called the bank, and they confirmed.
-
Yeah, I don't know why you don't believe it.
-
It's there. A million dollars has been deposited
-
into your account. And it's yours. Now, do you
-
understand how that changes the way you approach
-
the $100 check? Yes? Amen? You know, here's the
-
problem. Have you ever believed a lie? How many
-
of you have ever believed a lie? You know, how
-
many of you? Well, I'm going to tell you a story
-
first. You know. This lady meets the guy as he's
-
about to walk up to the door of the truck stop.
-
And she meets him. Actually, she first stares
-
at him for the longest time. She stares at him.
-
While she's staring at him, he notices that and
-
kind of makes him feel a little uncomfortable.
-
But then as he walks up to the door, she approaches
-
quickly from behind. Excuse me, sir. He turns
-
around and then she says to him, you know, I
-
apologize for staring at you the way I did, but
-
you remind me so much of my late son. He died
-
in Iraq. And man. When I saw you, she said, it
-
was just like my entire world changed. And so
-
he said, ma 'am, no, that's fine. So she chatted
-
with him a little bit. And then on her way out
-
back to the car, as she's standing in the store,
-
the guy's ready to pay. She says, can I ask you
-
a small favor? It won't mean much to you, but
-
would you mind? As I walk out of here to just
-
cry out, bye mom. And so he says, sure enough,
-
I could do that. And Jenny, as this lady walks
-
out, I mean, he puts a little extra enthusiasm
-
behind his greeting. Bye mom. And so she walks
-
out to her car. And then when he pays for the
-
water that he placed down the counter, the guy
-
gives him a bill of $46. He says. what is the
-
$46 for? I'm only buying water. He says, well,
-
you're paying for your mom too, aren't you? And
-
so he runs out and he's actually just in time
-
just before she pulls away. He opens the door
-
and she resists somewhat, but he kind of grabs
-
her by the leg and pulls her leg just like I've
-
pulled yours. You know, it's a lie. It's a lie.
-
You know, it's actually something that's been
-
floating around on the internet, on Facebook.
-
How many of you have actually gotten that? You've
-
read that before. There's several hands. A lie.
-
It's amazing how in the spiritual world, people
-
will grasp or last onto a lie and then believe
-
a lie. See, when you come to the gospel, it is...
-
the truth. Come on, give him a hand clap of praise.
-
It is the truth. When you look at any of the
-
promises of God, it is all truth. In fact, I'm
-
telling you, we said it here this morning that
-
God relies heavily, if I can use that word, God
-
relies heavily on your and my report about his
-
glory. He loves it. In fact, God, if I could
-
call it that, God hates it when people have unbelief.
-
God doesn't, he doesn't smile on it easily. He
-
calls it, in fact, Paul, and we'll read it in
-
a minute. Paul calls it, Paul calls it, Paul
-
calls it, sorry. Paul calls it an evil, unbelieving
-
heart. God wants you to let your heart believe
-
the truth. Stop believing a lie. Yeah, go ahead
-
and praise him. Stop believing a lie. Can you
-
throw up our, can you put on the screen, not
-
throw, but can you put the verse on that we used
-
over the weekend and that's Ecclesiastes. He
-
says Ecclesiastes 3, and you remember on Friday,
-
I told you that when you look at Ecclesiastes,
-
the preacher there was explaining what the days
-
of our lives are like. He says the days of our
-
life, if you read the first few verses, in fact,
-
the first 14 verses, you will read as he gives
-
us an account of how our lives are. Our lives
-
are really with stop and goes. In fact. That's
-
a great name for a restaurant, stop and go. But
-
it's also a great name for any human being. We
-
are stop and goers. Time to be born and time
-
to die. Time to plant, time to pluck up that
-
which is planted. You know, chapters. They are
-
beginnings and ends. Full chapters. You have
-
a beginning and then you have an end. And these
-
are all little chapters. And in between there,
-
I mean, the whole thing in between, we call that
-
history. And the history have all sorts of up
-
and downers and they're good and bad and they're
-
fast and slow and so on. We have these, you know.
-
They're the chapters or the days of our lives.
-
But then he comes and he switches from the comparisons
-
that he used there for 14 verses. And he comes
-
here to verse 14 and he says, now he's switching
-
over to the way God is. He says, I know that
-
whatsoever God does, it's forever. You see, he
-
says, nothing can be put to it nor anything taken
-
from it. Here, let me explain it like this. You
-
see, if you looked at man's life, then you'll
-
see man. If you look at the black here on the
-
platform, I don't have a thing here to write.
-
But if you look at the black there, just imagine
-
that that's a straight line. And you have the
-
beginning there. And then you have the end, the
-
arrow that's pointing there. And that's the end.
-
That's the cutoff point. And in between here,
-
we have all the in -betweens. And so in between
-
here on this line here is where somewhere where
-
your puppy was born and there your cat died over
-
there and so on. But not so with God. You understand,
-
if I had to use God, then I would use this as
-
a circle. You see, with God, everything is in
-
a circle. See, with God, there's no beginning
-
and there's no end. Everything evolves around.
-
You remember one of the times I was here, I talked
-
to you about the wheel. And you remember that?
-
I talked to you about the wheel and I said everything
-
really, when you want to work and understand,
-
you want to understand how God works, then you
-
have to be able to understand the wheel. Everything
-
God does, he creates like a wheel. That's why
-
you'll see the planets, they're all round, the
-
galaxies, they're all round, your head is all
-
round and so on. Most. Now, again, you find a
-
square head, you know. But so he says the first
-
14 verses, that's the life of man. And then he
-
comes here to verse 14 or 15. And he says, now,
-
I know that whatever God does, it's forever.
-
It's eternity. It's no end. He says, and God
-
does it. the end of verse 14, that men should
-
fear before him. And that, he says, here it is.
-
That, watch this, that which has been is now.
-
That, better, easier English, that which already
-
happened is actually happening now. That's what
-
that verse is saying. And then he says, and that
-
which is still to happen actually already happened.
-
You see, I call that, you understand, I call
-
that, there's a word for it in the English, and
-
that's the word manifest. You look at the word
-
manifest. Manifest means it is appearing right
-
now. It means brought to completeness. It's the
-
word completeness means there's nothing that
-
still has to happen. It's now manifesting. It's
-
like, you understand, here is the line of man.
-
Just look at me for a moment. There's man's line.
-
And then you have the beginning, Adam. And then
-
you have the end, wherever that will be at the
-
end of the sixth spiritual day, millennial day.
-
And in between here, Calvary happened. Right?
-
More or less how many years ago did Calvary,
-
more or less how many years ago was Christ crucified?
-
2000. Now, let me ask that again. More or less
-
how many years ago was Christ crucified? How
-
much? Oh, somebody is finally getting it. Where?
-
Hall. So the real answer is before the foundation.
-
That means that really what happened 4 ,000 or
-
2 ,000 years ago was the cross what? Manifested.
-
But it actually already happened before time.
-
You understand? So that's why I want you to,
-
I'm mentioning this here for a reason this morning
-
because it is going to help you in the area of
-
your faith. So that you can understand. What
-
merely happened here 2 ,000 years ago was something
-
manifested. It appeared what actually already
-
happened. That's why Paul writes and he says
-
about some of the illustrations in the Old Testament
-
like the Ark of the Covenant and many of those
-
things. He says those were shadows of what? Things
-
to come. You remember, you read that in the Bible.
-
It says those were shadows of things to come.
-
What does that mean? You know, what does it mean
-
when you see my shadow? There's my shadow, but
-
you don't see me. If you see my shadow, what
-
does it mean? It means I'm there, right? The
-
fact that you don't see me doesn't matter. You
-
see my shadow. So those things that happened
-
in the Old Testament that were shadows of things
-
to come, what does that mean? It means that...
-
It was something that was pointing at something
-
that already happened. It's already happened.
-
You see, if you can understand this, then you'll
-
understand Hebrews 3. Let's go there quickly.
-
Hebrews chapter 3. Now, I want to read Hebrews
Hebrews 3 chapter mention
-
3 in the light of what I just said. It already
-
happened. And so after it's happened, see, whatever
-
happened and it's... or is brought to completeness,
-
that means there's nothing that needs to be added.
-
After that, I can rest. All my work is done.
-
See, that's what it is. All of what needed to
-
be done was done before it's manifesting. You
-
understand what I'm saying? So let's read Hebrews
-
3. Are you there? Do you have your Bible open?
-
It may be something that you want to highlight
-
now and again. So I'm going to read it like this.
-
Therefore, holy brothers. Holy moly, it's already
-
12 o 'clock. So let's quickly just, Pastor, is
-
there something I need to do in particular right
-
now? I mean, releasing people or can I? Okay.
-
Can I fly? Can I fly a little bit? I just thought
-
maybe there's something in your program that
-
happens at 12 o 'clock. Okay, so he says here,
-
therefore, holy brothers, sharers in a heavenly
-
calling, consider Jesus the apostle and high
-
priest of our confession. Now, what he's saying
-
is, we're going to use him as an example. And
-
he says, who was faithful to the one who appointed
-
him. He's talking about Jesus who was faithful
-
to the one who appointed him. As Moses also was
-
to his household. For this one is considered
-
worthy of greater glory than Moses. Inasmuch
-
as the one who builds it has a greater honor
-
than the house. For every house is built by someone.
-
But the one who built all things. Right? It's
-
God. So he's talking, he's using some comparisons
-
just so that we can understand. He's using these
-
illustrations and he says, now, just like you
-
build your house. And then come to a place of
-
completeness. So we're talking about God who
-
builds his house. And he says, now, and Moses
-
was faithful in all his house as a servant for
-
a testimony to the things that would be spoken.
-
But Christ was faithful as his son over his house,
-
whose house, excuse me, whose. house we are if
-
we hold fast to our confidence and we hope we
-
can be proud of now uh let me just i'm gonna
-
read all that he says therefore just as the holy
-
spirit says today you know every time i come
-
here pastor brad every time i come here you are
-
bound to quote uh or to prophetically or spiritually
-
mention part of my sermon and you did it again
-
this morning Always does it. And here he says
-
today, when you hear his voice, do not harden
-
your heart. You remember you said that. And he
-
says, in the day of testing in the wilderness,
-
he's talking about them, what happened in the
-
wilderness. How many of you at times have been
-
so astoundingly alarmed at the way that they
-
did not believe God? After God would do this,
-
God would do that, then they would. Be filled
-
with unbelief again. Every time I look in this
-
direction, I hear Stephanie. Is there a Stephanie
-
right here? Stephanie, is there? Do you know
-
a Stephanie, sir? Stephanie. Here. You. This
-
man here in front. I'm talking about you. Somebody
-
in your life that has a Stephanie. I'm just saying,
-
I hear Stephanie. And so I believe that God is
-
fiction to bring new hope, new encouragement,
-
new strength, new vigor in the life of Stephanie.
-
Is that you? Are you Stephanie? No? Is there
-
somebody in your life that needs encouragement?
-
There she is. You're Stephanie. I'm going to
-
pray for you at the end. Are you connected to
-
this man somehow as a friend or somebody? You
-
know him? Okay. Why is God showing me? I'm sorry?
-
Okay, okay, okay. Okay, so. Now, he says, when
-
you hear his voice, he says, don't harden your
-
hearts like in the rebellion, where your fathers
-
tested me by trial and saw my works for 40 years.
-
Therefore, I was angry. He was what? I was angry
-
with them, and I said, They always go astray
-
in their hearts and they do not know my ways.
-
They don't know my ways. And so I swore in my
-
anger. That's verse 11. They will never enter
-
my rest. Why am I focusing on the rest issue
-
here? I'm going to connect that to your faith
-
here in just two or three more minutes. He says,
-
watch out, brothers, lest there be in some of
-
you an evil, unbelieving heart with a result
-
that will fall away. Now, look at verse 16. He
-
says now. They, when they heard all of these
-
things, were they disobedient? Yeah. Surely it
-
was not all who went out from Egypt through Moses.
-
And with whom was he angry then? Was it not with
-
those who sinned, whose dead bodies fell in the
-
wilderness? And to whom did he swear that they
-
would not enter into his rest except those who
-
were disobedient? And so we see that they were
-
not able to enter because of unbelief. The rest
-
of that remains for the people of God. Then,
-
verse 4, therefore, let us fear while there remains
-
a promise of entering into his rest. What does
-
it mean, God's rest? Let me tell you what it
-
means. It means God decided, he did it, finished
-
it, completed it, and all you have to now do
-
is say, Lord. I believe it will manifest. Yes?
-
It's already done. See, everything you need,
-
everything you need has already been done, made,
-
finished, completed. Yes? See, it's been finished.
-
It's completed. People don't understand that
-
because, you know, we're connecting this with
-
eternity, thoughts of eternity. We don't understand
-
eternity because we're time creatures. We're
-
connected to time. But give me Genesis 2 quickly,
-
verse 2 and 4. Let me show you an idea, or I
-
may have mentioned this to you before, but I'll
-
just quickly throw it in here. These are the
-
generations of the heavens. This is concerning
-
the creation, okay? So these are the generations
-
of the heavens and of the earth when they were
-
created in the day that the Lord God made what?
-
The earth and the heavens and... Every plant
-
before it was. He made every plant before it
-
was. Come on. I want that to sink in. He made
-
it before it was. He made it before it grew.
-
Look at the rest of that verse. He made it before
-
it grew. So it was there even before it showed.
-
Before it manifested. It was already made. It's
-
like your miracle that you need. It's already
-
made. All you need to do is. Put faith in action.
-
Understand it's done. It's finished. It's completed.
-
So God decided what's good for you. All you now
-
have to do is choose to follow. Choose to obey.
-
Choose to say, Lord, I'm heading in your direction.
-
You already established the direction, so I'm
-
just now following. Does that make sense? And
-
so therefore, I want to close this by saying
-
it this way. This way. There is actually a miracle
-
in your mouth. So all you have to do is say that
-
which you believe. With a heart we believe, with
-
a mouth confession is made. So all you do is
-
you confess it. You speak it. Why can I speak?
-
I don't confess somebody else's Cadillac and
-
say it's going to be mine. You understand? Because
-
that's stupid. You know, I mean, you're suffering
-
from, you're struggling from the spirit of stupidness,
-
you know. The only reason I can, the only reason
-
I can connect to a confession is if I connect
-
to something that I know has already been done.
-
It's already done. Say it's done. See, that's
-
why when we have somebody we pray for, we can
-
pray for them as if we already have it. So that's
-
what happens with God. He calls things into becoming
-
real as if they already exist. Why? Because it
-
actually already exists. He already made it.
-
It's already done. So he's calling that into
-
existence which is or which is not. He calls
-
it into existence. And so here this morning,
-
God is turning your life around. If you can believe
-
it and you're a child of God, start believing
-
what he did. Stop believing what he didn't. Start
-
believing which he already created. Stop. believing
-
a lie of the enemy that says that it's going
-
to be the other direction know his will come
-
on give stand on your feet and give god a hand
-
cup of praise glory to god glory to god if you
