Sunday Message - Pastor Gordon Meyers (November 25, 2018) | Life Bible Church

This is a tremendous honor. Like I say, I'm overwhelmed.

And Pastor Brad did not know it was my birthday.

And so he gave me a tremendous birthday present

by allowing me to preach the gospel of Jesus

Christ one more time. I am excited. I'm really,

we I should say, are really thrilled to be a

part of this fellowship. I don't say that lightly.

And I don't want you to get the big head. But

Life Bible is the most complete, open, liberal

worship. Strong pastor, revelatory word in this

whole region is the best. So if you don't like

it, there's the door. Because you go to the others,

you'll be back. Pastor Brad and Pastor Jennifer

are just unbelievable people. Not got to really

know them well. We've had, I think, lunch with

them one time in the time that we've been here.

But just to get to know them, to see them, watch

them in their ministry. But I don't know that

we really know what we have in our pastors. Wow.

God is using them in a tremendous way. And so

I just want to take a moment to say, pray for

them. Anytime you can see through history that

God has used or raised up an instrument to move

a church or move an area into a greater move

of the Spirit of God, they're the ones the enemy

is going to attack. And I've found after a lot

of years of pastoring that sheep bite. Sad to

say, some have not moved into love yet. But it

will lift up our pastors. But another amazing

thing that Terry and I have come to realize is

what a tremendous... Men leadership you've got

in this church. Wow. Hallelujah. And I don't

know well the elders or anything. I just know

that with leadership and men like this, that

this church is going to continue just to move

on. I have to take a minute. This lady is gorgeous.

Something happened this last year. For 57 years,

I had a brunette. And all of a sudden, I got

this gorgeous white hair lady over here. I'll

embarrass her. Isn't she gorgeous? The kids are

out. I kissed her the first time when she was

12. She was only 18 one month when we said our

vows, and so that's why we are still so young

and have been married so long. Praise God. Wow.

In the last months, what God has been speaking

to us prophetically, what... is going to happen

words that we've received in prayer meetings

about the the points that are on that i guess

it looks like a star but it's northeast south

and west that that this church is going to reach

out in those directions i'm not sure just how

but it's going to happen but the the words of

prophets this is why i'm overwhelmed but i'm

up here because of the caliber of of ministry

that pastor has has brought in and uh i just

sat there when pastor frank was sitting up here

oh my stars oh man could i sit under him for

a week or two and learn a whole bunch more than

i know but wow and then our own pastor well pastor

frank said lord is saying come up here Then Pastor

Brad talked to us about coming up into the upper

room. Amen? And so I've got this stuff rolling

through my head. And please, is 2 o 'clock too

late? I'll tell you. Well, I've just plain struggled.

But I think I have. A word for today that is

going to allow some of you to walk out those

doors. Different. Free. Whole. Healed. In Jesus'

name. I don't know who put this worship package

together. But wow. Fabulous. But do we know what

the words we're singing? Do we grasp the truth

of those words? And I know who took charge in

the prayer room this morning. It was the Holy

Spirit talking. Oh, man, just kind of really

brought this word together. So I better get going

and quit rambling here because I don't have a

whole lot of time. And I've got to get this word

out to you. Okay, we've heard come up higher.

We've heard come to the upper room. And yet in

the middle of all of this, the Lord speaks to

my heart the word satisfied. That doesn't fit.

Satisfied, content. pleased with oneself, complacent,

fulfilled. And if you have been in other churches

and then come to this church, then that's a possibility

in the middle of all of this that we could become

satisfied with what we have because we're about

the best around. But in the middle of all of

this, he is saying to us, come up higher. Come

up into the upper room. I think of the disciples

when they were walking with Jesus and they just

fed the 5 ,000 with a few loaves and a few fishes.

Then they get into the boat. And they go out.

He's up praying. He shows up on the water, scares

them to death. And then he says, it's me. He

gets into the boat and he says, peace. And it

all settles down. And what is their reaction?

Now, they just saw loaves and fishes feed 5 ,000

men plus women and children. I think that would

be a little bit of a miracle for me to see. But

they say, who is this? That even the waves and

the winds respond to his voice. They still didn't

grasp the truth, the whole thing about it. And

I believe, and I have, they don't have a deal

up there. I didn't know if they would put it

up there or not, but it's. My title this morning

is Let Faith Arise. Did you hear any of that

faith stuff in these songs today? I'm going to

ask you to do a crazy thing. I'd like for you

to stand. I'd like for you to take your Bible

if you've got it or any... or whatever you use

to read. And I would like for you to turn, if

you have a phone, I'd like for you to pull up

any scripture, doesn't matter. I want it to be

on the Bible. I was in prayer worship this morning

and this just overwhelmed me. So I said, okay,

Lord, I'm going to do that in the service. Got

it? You got your Bible? Okay, now I want you

to take that, and I want you to lay it right

here. And I want you to hug it tight. Father,

we've read this book through some of us many

times. We know it by reading it. But today you

want to show us and help us to see what John

1 says, that in the beginning was the Word, and

the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

And now we hold this book. Jesus' words, his

own words, we hold it to our breast. And we say,

Father, God, would you help us to grasp a hold

of the fact that what we are holding are actual

words that have been sent down to us through

the inspired word of God, through these men who

have written to us, and we have it, and the same

power and authority that was there on that day

when he spoke it, when he said, let there be

light, and there was light. Oh, every one of

them. And man, hallelujah in our image. Lord,

the same power and authority is there. So I would

ask this morning, and your word says, if we ask

anything in your name, it'll be done. So I'm

expecting that as we hold this word, your words

to our breasts, that you will. Give us a fresh,

a fresh, a fresh determination to make sure that

we not only read this book, but know the writer

of it. Know the one that has been written about,

who has spoken words that have power. within

themselves for their own fulfillment. That we

would grasp this and not be satisfied with anything

that we have received yet because what is before

us is greater than anything that we have received

to this point. And so we thank you. Thank you

for your word. We receive it now, Lord. A fresh

desire, hunger, not only to read it, but to know.

You, like we've never known you before. In the

name of Jesus, I pray. And I thank you for it.

Hallelujah. Oh, glory to Jesus. Just lift your

hands. You're filled with the Spirit. Speak in

your language, that heavenly language. Give Him

praise this morning. Let the Spirit flow through

you and give praise. Hallelujah. To the Father,

the Son, and the Spirit. Oh, thank you, thank

you, thank you. Thank you for it, Lord. We rejoice

in you, Lord. Hallelujah. Hallelujah, hallelujah.

It's an amazing thing that through history we

find that darkness that we sang about a little

bit ago, of course we know who darkness is, but

do we know that ignorance is darkness? There

was a time when only the priests in church history

had a Bible. Nobody knew anything but what the

priests said. That's the way it is in Indonesia

with Islam. The language is so weak that they

do not even have the Koran in their language,

and yet it's the largest, quote, Muslim country

in the world. But they don't know what the...

They're just born that way. They don't know what

the Quran says. And so I want you to know, God

is moving by his spirit in such a phenomenal

way in Indonesia because truth is coming in.

Four years ago, a man started a church. Today,

he's running 6 ,000. Four years. When my brother

was over there in Indonesia back in the 70s,

three or five percent, they said, were Christian.

Today, they're claiming 34%. Oh, God is doing

a tremendous work. But Satan is darkness, and

he's been trying to keep us from it. And statistics

show us that out of the millions of believers

that attend Sunday morning regularly, only 19

% read the Word every day. only once a week.

How can you know, how can faith arise when faith

comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God?

Some of us here this morning have read this book,

but I believe that the Holy Spirit is here to

put a new desire and hunger for you not only

to Read it, but to know Jesus. He is the power

and the authority of that word. Let me give you

an example. The angel of the Lord comes to Mary

and says, I have a word from the Father for you.

You will conceive and bear a son. His name will

be called Jesus. She's confused, as you and I

would be, and then all of a sudden, she catches,

whether she understood or not, and she says,

as thy word is, so be it unto me. And instantaneously,

she conceived. Okay, don't get excited. We've

got Jesus. Because she accepted the word and

said, I receive it. Some of us, maybe many of

us, are having a difficult time getting free

from past because we don't know what the book

says. We haven't allowed that word to become

our word. When he says whom the Son sets free

is free indeed, he means you are free. When the

word says that you are complete in him means

everything that he purchased on that cross, when

you believed and accepted him as Savior, everything

possible that he could do is in you. Hallelujah.

And we have to come to the place and grasp the

truth of this word to release what's already

there. So that we can become who he has destined

us to be. And to move in his power and his authority.

My wife was, maybe it was somebody here too here

recently. In the word, I know my wife said it

this last week or maybe even this morning. The

word of the Lord come, speak to these dry bones.

Hear the word of the Lord. Arise. Boy, you are

not an excited people. Hallelujah. It was the

word of God that came and when the prophet spoke

it, all of a sudden the dry bones begin to move

and things begin to happen. Hallelujah. There's

nothing about satisfaction that fits this old

man, I'll tell you that. I am so excited about

what God is doing in my heart. I come to every

service. I'm not bragging, but I wanted to be

in service so bad. Last Sunday, I drove an hour

and a half to get here for service from Newburgh,

Oregon. Oh, man, and I'm glad I did because wasn't

last Sunday a powerful, whoo! Oh, man, I don't

want to miss any of those times. Hallelujah.

I have prayed almost every day for three years

for my family. It's in Ephesians chapter 1. He

Ephesians 1 · chapter mention

said, I don't cease giving thanks to you, making

mention of you in my prayers. That the God and

Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of

glory, would give you the spirit of wisdom and

revelation and the knowledge of him. That the

eyes of your understanding would be enlightened,

that you may know what is the hope of his calling

and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance

in the saints. What is the exceeding greatness

of his power to us who believe according to the

working of his mighty power, which he worked

in Christ when he raised him from the dead, seated

him in his own right hand in heavenly places,

far above all principality and power and might

and dominion and every name that is named in

this age and in the age to come. He put all things

under his feet. Gave him to be the head over

all things to the church, which is his body.

Hang on. The fullness of him. Oh, my word. The

fullness of him who fills all in all. Now, if

we're the body, then if all the powers of authority

are under his feet, then they're under our feet.

Prayer meeting the other night, it came to me.

All of this, and then that Jesus said, all authority

is given unto me. Some of us in this room, and

you have friends. that are struggling with the

fact that the enemy is beating you up about something

that took place. Well, I guess we could, what

was it with the new judge that we got that they

were trying to pin something that happened 35

years ago on him or 36 years ago. That's what

the devil does to God's children. But he said,

he said, I'll never remember that against you

again. You come to the altar the 15th time and

he said, what are you talking about? I don't

remember that. How could God forget? He said

he did. He said, you're free. You're whole. But

it's so important that we grasp and see what

it says in here that this word. This word, folks,

this word, it's from him that we receive it.

Oh, can I pray a prayer over you? Another one

from the book of Ephesians. I put it in the first

person so it won't sound like it's in your Bible,

but it's in Ephesians 3, 16 and 21, and I put

it over for us. Let me pray it over you. Shut

your eyes. Would you do that? Just shut yourself

in. Father, I pray that you would grant us, according

to the riches of your glory, to be strengthened

with might through your Spirit in the inner man,

so that Christ may dwell in our hearts through

faith, that we, being rooted and grounded in

love, may be able to comprehend with all the

saints what is the width and length and depth

and height. of your awesome greatness and power

and to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge

that we may be filled with all the fullness of

God. Now unto him who is able to do exceedingly

abundantly above all that we would ask or think

according to the power that works in us. In us.

Help us realize the power, the Holy Spirit present

power with knowledge of the word, with power

of the word that has its power for its own fulfillment.

We speak it. And to him be glory in the church

by Christ Jesus to all generations forever and

ever. Amen. God, let it be done. Let it be done.

Let it be done. We're here in your presence,

Lord, because we need you. We desire you. We're

desperate. Oh, sorry to get a little bit. I'm

just overwhelmed. It'll be nine years next March.

I died of cardiac arrest. 95 % die within the

first five minutes. Of the other 5%, 3 % become

vegetables, total brain damage. I did not have

a pulse for 40 minutes. And through the prayers

of my sweetheart and people around the world,

Sometime in that time I was in the hospital.

My room was just like I was in the midst of the

sun. I didn't realize what it was until I read

in Revelations 1 and his countenance was as the

strength of the sun. And I realized at some time

during that hospital time that... Jesus walked

into my room, and somehow he put life back into

my being. He cleaned my mind, and I'm here. My

wife says I'm not quite a little better than

I used to be, or a little worse than I used to

be. You see, folks, this is the God that we serve.

Terry's grandfather had a stroke years ago. When

we left him, his right side was completely limp

and he couldn't speak. We came back the next

morning and he's sitting up on the side of the

bed and says, good morning. He said, what happened

to you? He said, just about dawn, Jesus came

in and touched my foot. are selling ourselves

short. God is bigger than what we see him. And

I'm not going to be satisfied with anything until

I begin to see Mark chapter 16 fulfilled in and

Mark 16 · chapter mention

through my life. And that will happen because

he said these signs are going to follow them

that believe. And I believe. But it's so important

for me to grasp what this word is speaking to

my heart. They are not just words that I read.

It's not just that I come and I worship and I

enjoy great fellowship. But it's the fact that

God, oh, is in those words. His authority is

in those words. And when those words are spoken,

it shall be. Scripture is standing out to me.

Those who ask receive. Those who seek find. Those

who knock it will be opened. Those who ask they

shall receive. Those who seek they will find.

Those who knock it will be opened. So it's put

back into our lap this morning. Everything is

there. You are so special. If I could go... If

I could come down and hug every one of you, I'd

do it. Kelly, I know you're not the hugger. Get

up here. I would hug every one of you. And I

believe with all of my heart because how I feel

this morning in my being that he is so in me

that you would feel and sense the presence and

power of the Spirit of God. He loves you and

he wants to put his arms around you this morning.

I'm going to share something with you that God

shared with me about three, four weeks ago in

pre -service prayer. Because he sees this church.

He loves you so much. One main reason, you give

opportunity for God to work. Whether it's in

the middle of a worship service, whatever, the

leading of the spirit, different people, hallelujah.

Isn't that exciting? But, oh, in the book of

Luke, he shared with me that he is going to do

this in this church. Let's see, I've got to find

it here. A little slower in my age. It was brought

up in pre -service prayer this morning. I went

up and told pastor after that prayer meeting

that God is going to, because you allow the Spirit

of God to work, He's going to come and He's going

to bring these people from Isaiah 61. Also in

Luke 4, 18, the spirit of the Lord is upon me

because he has anointed me to preach the gospel

to the poor. Listen to this one. He's going to

start bringing brokenhearted people into this

fellowship because you allow him to come and

do what he's anointed to do. Hallelujah. And

he's going to heal them. He's going to proclaim

liberty to the captives through the power of

the blood, through the power of the word. He

is bringing liberty. It's your choice. You receive

Jesus Christ. He'll heal. You're captive to whatever.

Drugs, alcohol, lust, food, cars, work. Who wants

to be captive to that one? But whatever he's

bringing us. Liberty. Hallelujah. Abilities to

be free. Oh, recovery of sight to the blind.

Set at liberty those who are oppressed. If the

worship team would come, he's here this morning

to do that, that very thing. I believe with all

of my heart that if you will grasp hold of the

truth of God's word, that he's here to do that

this morning, it will take place. If you are

here this morning and you're broken at heart,

He doesn't want you to be. He's here to heal

you. He's here to make you whole again. If you're

captive to whatever, he's here to release you.

He's given the power through the blood, through

his resurrection power. He has come to set you

free if you'll receive it. You're struggling

with illness, sickness, blindness, whatever.

He's here this morning. The power of the word

is of its own fulfillment. He can fulfill. Do

we believe it? Is it God's word? If you're here

this morning, he wants to do it. Will you bow

your hearts with me? Lord, we just pause right

here to let you love on your people, to let you

put your strong arms around them and let them

know if they're broken, that you're here to heal

them today. If they've been oppressed for one

reason or another, you came to bring liberty

to them. If they're captive, Any form that takes

the place of you that keeps them from being who

you want them to be or who they want to be in

you. Liberty is here for them. Healing is here.

If you can raise me up from a deathbed, there's

nothing in this room that you can't do. For nothing

is impossible with God. Saints of God, I want

you to begin to pray and breathe with me. Release

the power of the Spirit of God to draw, to begin

to heal, to bring a love. Oh, that those who

are broken need, those who are oppressed need,

those who are captive need. Those who are sick

and need healing. We receive from you this morning

because it is your word. We do not come in our

own power and authority, but we come in the power

and the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. And

as Peter and John said, arise, arise and walk.

As Peter said to Dorcas, arise. Oh, we say, Father,

let our faith arise this morning. It is your

word and we believe it. And we will not leave

here without giving you opportunity to complete

what you came to do. Thank you for it, Lord.

We thank you for it, Lord. And those who need

that fresh desire and hunger to know you. Lord,

you reminisce me from the time I got saved clear

through to my death. Oh, I knew you. You knew

me. I loved you. I spent time with you. But Lord,

now I know you. I don't just know about you.

I know you. And I pray that there would be that

determination in every person in this house who

believes because God has some special things

ahead of us that we can't even imagine. But it's

according to the power that works in us. So we

need to move into that place in the Word. Faith

comes by hearing, hearing by the Word of God.

great worship, prophetic gifts of the Spirit.

They are God's plan, but they only come with

relationship. They only come when we grasp hold

of truth that you are the living Word of God

with power for its own fulfillment. We thank

you for it. We thank you for it. Could I ask

those prayer team, whoever you are, that usually

come down after everybody gets here, I'd like

to reverse that. Could I bring you down? Would

you come down? Now, you are those workers around

the altars. I want you to come and I want you

to face the congregation. These are men and women

who have been chosen. Because of their faith.

Because of their obedience. Now if you're here

this morning. Whatever it might be. You can walk

out of here changed. Even if it's a fresh. determination

that you're going to know Jesus through the word.

I want you to come down and I want you to express

it to one of these people. If you come broken

this morning, if you have been oppressed, you're

determined you're going to be free. This is your

day. Whether you're captive to some area, this

is your day. I want you to just to come and come

right down. Come on. Let's just do it quickly.

Just stand up. Come on. Come on. He's here to

do it. Why sit there if you can go home different

and free? Come on. Come on. Let God come. Let

God come and minister to you. You just need a

refreshing desire to grasp the truth of the Word

as it is spoken. Just come on down. Let Him pray

with you. Walk out of here with a new vigor,

a new excitement. with a healing, with a deliverance,

whatever it is, in the name of Jesus. Everybody

stand with me. Will you do that? It'll make it

easier for them to get out. If there are others,

a lot easier. It's not so obvious. Oh, yes. I

believe there's still some more. I believe there's

still some more. Oh, we wait in your presence,

Lord. Holy Spirit. We want to see them be free,

Lord. We want to see them be free, Lord. Let

your spirit fall fresh upon these across this

hall with this morning, Lord. Victory is mine,

says the Lord. The enemy cannot take it. He's

a liar. The truth, the light has taken the darkness,

dispelled the darkness. The lies of the enemy

be gone in Jesus' name. here, so if you have

not yet responded out of reverence for what's

going on up here, I just want to give a second

call to that. Don't leave here without receiving

prayer from the body of Christ this morning.
