We're going to do a little Q &A here before we
-
let you go and go get your lunch and then come
-
back tonight for prayer. Everybody heard prayer?
-
Come on, praying in the spirit at 6 o 'clock.
-
The fact is you can even pray a little further
-
than 6 o 'clock. You can pray in tongues on your
-
way out here. Hallelujah. That would be even
-
great. That's part of the reason God put us in
-
Harrisburg, to help your spiritual life pray
-
to get here. Hallelujah. All right. Glory to
-
God. Let's do a little Q &A. And I'd like to
-
frame it in. So here's the framing in right now
-
for this section. I want you to stay within the
-
boundaries of what we talked about this morning
-
on hearing God, okay, with Dr. Jan Venter. So
-
this category of how to hear the Lord and operating
-
in that seeing, hearing realm as well. So that's
-
kind of the... That's kind of going to be my
-
set category this morning. And so I want you
-
just to think about that a little bit. Pray in
-
tongues. What is my question? And if you have
-
a question, make it intelligent as much as you
-
can. And I'm going to come out and bring the
-
mic to you and let them answer your question.
-
So anybody have a question right off the bat
-
in that arena that you would like to ask? Hallelujah.
-
You lifted your hand first. Okay, I'm embarrassed
-
to ask the question, but I'm going to ask you
-
anyway, Tony. When I find myself praying in tongues
-
at night, I stay awake. Speak a little louder.
-
Okay, excuse me, I'll speak up a little bit louder.
-
When I pray in tongues at night as I'm falling
-
asleep, I find I don't go to sleep. I just stay
-
awake. When do you stop? Yeah, seriously. Here's
-
what I would do if I were you. Okay? I would
-
pray in tongues earlier in the evening, but I
-
would do soft instrumental music if that relaxes
-
you and helps you go to sleep. Does that do that
-
for you? Christian music. Okay? That's answer
-
one. Answer two. Because I sometimes do that.
-
Because sometimes I get so excited, I'm awake.
-
Okay. So sometimes I'll do soft instrumental
-
Christian music because it has the atmosphere.
-
Second thing I'll do is sometimes I will go on
-
YouTube and listen to like the Gospel of John
-
or like Matthew and listen to the word until
-
I fall asleep. And just listen. And it's amazing
-
how the word of God will just relax you. And
-
you're receiving that word into your spirit.
-
OK, and then it'll relax you and then you could
-
actually move from that into a spirit of revelation.
-
OK, and then let me let me share this with you.
-
Sometimes what you're what you'll do is you'll
-
have a dream and it's just anxiety dream or just
-
crazy stuff. All right. And then all of a sudden,
-
in the midst of that, God will insert something.
-
And then you need to catch it. Like last night,
-
I'm just dreaming some stuff. Okay? But in the
-
middle of all of that, I had a dream where God
-
spoke to me personally. And then in the middle
-
of it, I heard a word on a subject that I'm now
-
researching. But I had to recognize it. And so
-
then when I wake up. I go, okay, now I have to
-
start looking up scriptures on this subject because
-
the Holy Spirit obviously now wants to direct
-
my attention toward it. Okay? And then the other
-
thing had to do with the Lord revealing something
-
to me about me that I needed to know. A correction.
-
And look at somebody and say, and that's always
-
a wonderful thing. And also, if that don't work,
-
just take the book of Numbers and read and try
-
and pronounce every name, you know. Okay. Well
-
spoken. All right. Another question in regard
-
to that. Okay. Yes, sir. Hang up. Hang up. I'm
-
coming. My name is Daniel, and I'm Native American.
-
I do speak my language, and it's sort of like
-
meditating in a sweat lodge, but it's kind of
-
hard to open up to do the tongues. It's a different
-
environment, different way, but I'm really trying
-
to figure out how to open up to talk tongues,
-
but I usually just speak my native language.
-
How could I go about working on that? I speak
-
seven languages, and I can tell you right now
-
that the connection between earthly languages
-
and the spirit language, there's no connection.
-
You have to disconnect. No matter what kind of
-
language you speak, you have to learn how to
-
disconnect from the natural to the spiritual
-
because the natural man does not understand the
-
things of the spirit of God. And that's why that
-
when you speak in tongues, even to you, it'll
-
sound like a brabble noise in the beginning.
-
Because it's an unknown language. It's an unknown
-
tongue. Maybe known to other people that understands
-
the language. But when you speak in tongues or
-
you want to speak in tongues, you have to allow
-
your natural man to disconnect and to connect
-
to the spirit. That was good. All right. Yeah,
-
okay. Yes, I'm going to try to just move to sections.
-
Anyone right here in this section, okay? Thank
-
you. I'm just curious, how often is it appropriate,
-
the instance where I've seen people be delivered
-
and then it's after the deliverance, they just
-
raise their hand and start speaking in tongues
-
and they're obviously being filled with the Holy
-
Ghost, but they're not even doing it. They're
-
not trying to do it. Now, we're trying to speak
-
in tongues. Is there a separation between that
-
and God's having it happen versus you having
-
it happen? Does that make sense to you guys?
-
Want me to take this one? Yeah. Let me explain
-
this because this is a great question, by the
-
way. How did they get delivered? They yielded
-
to God. And they said yes to the Lord. And so...
-
And so they stayed in a state of yieldedness.
-
Their spirit yielded. And so they stayed in that
-
state and then they just started speaking. Because
-
when they felt that urge through the Holy Spirit
-
to speak. See, here's what's funny to me. I really
-
struggled. Okay. I hope this don't bother you
-
because I just, what you see is what you get.
-
I really struggled to be able to speak in tongues
-
because I had control issues. I like to analyze
-
stuff and figure it out. And I couldn't figure
-
it out. I couldn't figure it out. And so, okay,
-
see, this is what's funny. How do you speak any
-
language? You move your lips and you roll your
-
tongue. So when the day of Pentecost fully came.
-
There were one accord in one place, and suddenly
-
there came a sound from heaven, rushing mighty
-
wind, divided tongues like as a fire. They were
-
all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke.
-
Look at somebody say, you got to move your lips
-
and roll your tongue. So, I'm moving my lips
-
and roll my tongue. That's my act of faith in
-
yielding. And I sometimes, even now to this day,
-
From 72 now, I'll be praying in the spirit and
-
go, wait a minute, I'm speaking in tongues. And
-
I wasn't even aware I was speaking in tongues.
-
And I become conscious I'm praying in the spirit
-
because I'm yielding. And then there's times
-
when I have to voluntarily, by faith, speak.
-
And as I speak, I'm yielding. So you have the
-
sovereign and you have the voluntary yielding.
-
Sometimes people are yielding, but they don't
-
even know they're yielding. And that's what happens
-
in deliverance. That's really good. Excellent.
-
You see, you also must remember that you can
-
never bring the natural into the supernatural.
-
You cannot take the spiritual into the carnal
-
and vice versa. It's two different worlds. And
-
so when you want to speak in tongues, once again,
-
you have to disconnect from the carnal, the natural.
-
Because the natural man doesn't understand these
-
things. So it's a total disconnect and you accept
-
that the Holy Spirit will just lead you from
-
that moment on. Excellent question. Okay, next
-
one. Richard. Being frontline men of God, how
-
many times are you two attacked each day? By
-
Satan? And then do you have a standard way you
-
address that? Very good question. Because once
-
your spirit becomes sensitive to the spirit realm,
-
now you have to learn the world of spirits and
-
you learn the person of the Holy Spirit. But
-
you're going to encounter, when a person gets
-
baptized in the Holy Spirit, they're just opened
-
up to the world of spirits. And so you learn
-
the person of the Holy Spirit, but you're going
-
to also discover that there's other spirits out
-
there from the realm of darkness who, from time
-
to time, they're going to talk to you. Now, let
-
me say this, and you can do with this whatever
-
you want. Not every spirit, evil spirit that
-
talks to you, will say you. They will sometimes
-
say I to get you to believe that it's the voice
-
of your own spirit, to get you to adopt their
-
lie so that they can be empowered to work against
-
you. Look at somebody saying, not every thought
-
shows. And some thoughts are spirits. So one
-
of the reasons it's critical for us to learn
-
the word of the Lord is to say, is this thought,
-
is it in keeping with what is written or the
-
character of God? And if not, even if it says
-
I and mimics the voice of my human spirit, it
-
is to be rejected, casting down imaginations,
-
right? St. Corinthians chapter 10, four and all.
-
Okay, so you're going to have some level of warfare,
-
but I don't allow myself to get caught up into
-
it. So if a spirit comes to me and gives me a
-
thought, rather than engaging the enemy, I just
-
simply say, Lord, I send that one to you. And
-
I keep right on going because I'm not going,
-
we're not going to play that game. Where the
-
enemy going to wear me out wrestling with a thought,
-
a thought. Seriously? Really? No. Lord, I send
-
that. See, even when I say, Lord, I send that
-
to you, I'm still focused on Jesus. I'm still
-
focused on Jesus. So, I'm not doing that. Or
-
I simply say, it is written. And I'm still focused
-
on Jesus. I'm not going to let the enemy catch
-
me up in spiritual warfare where he becomes my
-
focus. Jesus said, it is written. He kept the
-
Father his focus. Very good. Do you want to add
-
anything to that? Yeah. I personally also feel
-
that people oftentimes involve themselves too
-
much and unnecessarily with spiritual warfare.
-
You're not supposed to be involved in spiritual
-
warfare. You walk in victory. You walk in the
-
spirit. So you don't give way to those thoughts.
-
Sometimes I think, and the church especially,
-
is too enamored by a spiritual warfare that Paul
-
dealt with in the book of Ephesians. You'll notice
-
that in the teachings of Jesus, it was you run
-
across demons and you cast them away. And that's
-
it. Live your life in such a way that in any
-
case, and it's too much of a subject, but in
-
any case, the Ephesian subject, I personally
-
believe, was Paul's teachings about fallen angels
-
and the encounters of fallen angels, not demons.
-
And so that's not stuff that you're supposed
-
to even get involved with. You are in victory.
-
You have been blessed with all spiritual blessings.
-
And you need to walk like that. Walk in victory.
-
And like we said here last night, you know, talking
-
about angels. You have angels that stands by
-
to help you walk in victory. Keep your mind on
-
Christ and away from Satan. That's good. That's
-
good. Tony, I'm going to do a follow -up question
-
for you. Yeah. In regard to just... confirming
-
even what you guys both said, the Bible says
-
in John, John writes, test all things, right?
-
Oh, okay. If you have a lot of experience with
-
angels, the angels of God, which, you know, because
-
I need so much help, I have. Because, yeah. I
-
remember this, that a demonic angel came to me.
-
posing as an angel of God to talk to me, and
-
he kind of sounded like one, but I was looking
-
at him, and I caught a glimpse of darkness. So,
-
when in doubt, if an angel says something, make
-
sure it's in keeping with what is written, the
-
character of God, right? Right? And then you
-
can actually make the, you can challenge the
-
angel to confess that Jesus Christ came in the
-
flesh and that Jesus Christ is his Lord and master.
-
That is so, that is so true. Make him say it.
-
So I busted this angel out. Okay. Okay. I should
-
probably explain this. The name Kemp means warrior.
-
my real name is Phillip Anthony. Everybody calls
-
me Tony, but Phillip means lover of horses, which
-
is military. And so sometimes I get real aggressive.
-
And so I busted his behind out and he left. Okay.
-
So all I'm saying is I'm not afraid of being
-
deceived. The very fear of deception can lead
-
to deception. All you got to know is the Father,
-
Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and it is written. So
-
ain't no big deal. Sooner or later, one's going
-
to come to try to trick you. Just bust his behind
-
out and send him off in the name of Jesus. Okay,
-
now I'll come back down. That's great. And springing
-
off of that, the reality is when it says test
-
all things, the written word is so critically
-
important to every level of the supernatural.
-
Yeah. Because as you've said, and we've talked
-
about the level of intrigue. of people of how
-
they're hearing you know we we hear it all the
-
time well my departed daughter or son they visit
-
me or they talk to me and you hear those type
-
of things that are clearly unbiblical but there's
-
no training in the word of god and so people
-
having wisdom Not from above. That is pure. And
-
that's the key again. Knowing the scriptures.
-
It's pure. It's noble. It's righteous. It's connected
-
to God's word. His character. His truth. His
-
holiness. If that's not there. That's why you
-
have to test it out. Test it out in every form
-
of revelation. A word to anything. Let's talk
-
about, and then I'll get a couple more questions.
-
Let's talk about discerning of spirits as in
-
the list in 1 Corinthians 12, discerning of spirits.
-
Doctor? In what sense? Well, just whatever sense
-
you want to talk about it. Well, you know, if
-
you want to discern the spirits, it's just like
-
you said. You know, you've got to judge them
-
by... what comes from them. You know, it's got
-
to be tested on the level of the word. You know,
-
you cannot believe everything or anything that
-
comes to you. It's got to pass the test of the
-
word. Number two, it's got to pass the test of
-
the character of God. If it doesn't have the
-
character of God, it doesn't pass my test. It
-
doesn't matter what they say. It doesn't matter
-
how intelligent they sound. It doesn't matter
-
how convincing they sound. They've got to pass
-
the character of God. And then number three,
-
are they surrounded by love? Is what is happening,
-
is it covered by love? God is love. So if there's
-
an absence of love or the presence of malice,
-
it's clear. That's how I test them. Yeah, the
-
other thing of it is I try to look at my, okay,
-
I try to examine my own heart in the light of
-
the written word of God and the Holy Spirit.
-
Because if your spirit's wrong, your discernment
-
is not clear. Okay. And so Dr. Yon said something
-
that I think is real, real important. And I do
-
want to mention this because a lot of times people
-
want to enter the realm of the supernatural in
-
Jesus, but they really suffer from guilt. Now
-
you have two types of guilt. You have guilt that's
-
genuine because you really did something wrong.
-
You didn't repent. And look at somebody and say,
-
just repent. And then believe the word. If we
-
walk in the light as he's in the light, the blood
-
of Jesus constantly and continuously cleanses
-
us from all sin. Okay, so once I've repented,
-
and now I have boldness to enter into the most
-
holy father through the blood of Jesus. Once
-
I've repented, once I've confessed that he's
-
faithful and just, 1 John 1 and 9. Now, now you
-
need to hear this. Now I'm in a state of innocence.
-
I'm in a state of innocence. Romans 5 and 1,
-
therefore being justified by faith, I have peace
-
with God through my Lord Jesus Christ. So I stand
-
before God just as if I've never sinned. Now
-
through a sense of innocence because of the blood
-
of Jesus and his resurrection from the dead,
-
now I have no real sense of sin. So now if the
-
enemy brings something, it's false guilt. Therefore
-
there is now no what? condemnation to them who
-
are in Christ Jesus, right? So now in this state
-
of innocence, now my faith operates, right? Because
-
whatsoever we ask of him, we receive because
-
we keep his commandments, right? So beloved,
-
if a heart does not condemn us, we have what?
-
Confidence and peace toward God, right? So now
-
in this peace, in this peace, I can receive revelation.
-
But if I let the enemy convince me of a false
-
guilt that the blood of Jesus is taken care of,
-
then it's going to be hard for me to receive
-
revelation from God. Does that make sense to
-
you? So I just want to mention that. And it's
-
going to be hard for me to minister by the Spirit
-
or receive ministry by the Spirit if I'm in a
-
state of guilt. That's why I always try to help
-
people to repent first. And, you know, the Bible
-
also speaks of, you know, the saints being equipped.
-
You know, you must always remember that you are
-
equipped. He makes sure that you are equipped.
-
He's not going to just release you to just go
-
out there, even if you don't have, you know,
-
a high level of experience in this realm we're
-
talking about. And one of the equipping of the
-
saints is the anointing. The anointing, that's
-
what John says, you have an anointing. And so
-
the anointing bears witness of the truth. And
-
so that should be a very strong guide for all
-
of us, you know, with the anointing. It not only
-
breaks the yoke of bondage, but it bears witness
-
of the truth. That's really good. Really good.
-
Okay, one more question here. Who's got a great
-
question. It's just burning, you know, the Holy
-
Spirit sent it to be answered. Karen. Thank you,
-
first of all, for the great blessing of you guys
-
sharing your experiences with God. I know early
-
in my walk, I was attacked because of a lot of
-
stuff that was passed down. God taught me personally.
-
And one thing that, as I was struggling with
-
self, which to me is the biggest warfare that
-
we have, was motivation. And I just kept begging
-
and begging God for motivation. And then as I
-
walked the walk, I saw how that relationship
-
was the motivation. I was wondering if you guys
-
could talk on that. You want to go first? Okay,
-
you know, the thing is, to become aware of...
-
of one's purpose. You know, that, I believe,
-
is the strongest force that will motivate you,
-
is when you become aware of really what your
-
purpose is. Because that's the thing with so
-
many people is they live aimlessly or without
-
purpose. It's amazing that when you come into
-
that area or that awareness of what your purpose
-
is, what you were created for. The moment you
-
come into that thing there, that becomes an incredible
-
motivational force. You cannot live aimlessly.
-
You've got to come to a place where you say,
-
wow, that's what I'm here for. Now, once you
-
find out that's what I'm here for, guess what?
-
You're not going to need no encouragement. You
-
know, because you remember what Jesus said, where
-
your heart is, there will be what? Your treasure.
-
So once you find out where is my heart, you're
-
going to discover your treasure. Yeah, and in
-
connection with that, remember Philippians, Paul
-
said this. He says, God's working in you, giving
-
you both the desire and the ability to do his
-
good pleasure. So questions, okay? One of the
-
things the Lord really taught me to do is ask
-
questions. So what is it that you love? What
-
is it that you hate? What moves you to have compassion?
-
What is it you want to fix? Okay? And not just
-
that, but if I can say it to you like this, one
-
of the reasons the Father and Jesus put all these
-
different ministries in the church and speakers
-
come through, and sometimes you'll listen to
-
a speaker, man or woman, and you'll go, you know,
-
I think... That resonates with it. It rings your
-
bell. It makes your baby leap Okay, just like
-
John the Baptist leaked when he heard the voice
-
of Jesus and it's like yeah I want to be like
-
that when I grow up And so sometimes what happens
-
is you're listening to a speaker and something
-
on the inside of you says, that's it, that's
-
it, that's it. Now you want to do your research.
-
Now you want to get a model. Because, see, we
-
grow by more than messages. We have to have a
-
model. We have to have a picture. And then we
-
say, okay, now what steps do I have to take to
-
cause that revelation to become a personal reality?
-
Wow. Can you tell them thank you? If you are
