First breakthrough of the night. Come on, Lord.
-
It's the first deliverance right there. Lord
-
just broke in on my part. Good. It's good to
-
be with you guys. I'm not senior pastor of Upper
-
Room. I'm one of the teaching, preaching pastors
-
there in Dallas at Upper Room. Many of you might
-
be familiar with some of the songs that have
-
come out of there and just getting to run there
-
is beautiful. This is absolutely beautiful, man.
-
I love this. I feel a little far from you. I
-
feel like I wish I could get a little closer
-
to you. This is where we're at. Yeah, I want
-
to first off just tell you how honored I am.
-
That worship was beautiful. Absolutely loved
-
it. And I love being here with you guys. I got
-
radically saved. And if you have your Bibles,
-
go ahead and turn to Ephesians 1. Just turn there
-
and I'm just praying you don't really know where
-
it's at. So I'm going to take about five to ten
-
minutes talking. That was my first joke. I got
-
three more. I'll tell you when they come. So
-
in case they just stumble by you and they're
-
too deep for you. But I'm originally from northwest
-
Arkansas, and so southern boy, and grew up in
-
a great family, but had no conviction nor really
-
encounter with Jesus. So go deep into the stuff
-
of this world throughout high school, increases
-
in college. And before we knew it, we were doing
-
the stuff that keeps you up three or four days
-
a week at a time. Way out there. But I had a
-
praying mom. And my friend had a praying mom.
-
I'm talking about an old Pentecostal praying
-
mom. Kind of mom that anoints everybody with
-
oil. That's always praying in the Holy Ghost.
-
They never sleep. And I'm grateful for moms like
-
that. Anybody got a mom like that? Devil come
-
out or I'm coming in after you kind of women?
-
You can laugh. Come on. Come on. Work with me.
-
Work with me. And I remember going to his house
-
different times, and I'd come in his house, and
-
she'd be waiting at the door. I'd come in high
-
as a kite at 3 in the morning. She'd be waiting
-
at the door saying, Corey, you can come in, but
-
you leave those demons outside. You can't come
-
in my house. So she'd come in. Other nights I'd
-
lay my head on the pillow, and she had put anointing
-
oil all over the pillow. And so saying, Lord,
-
anoint his ears. Anoint his ears, Lord. And so
-
that's the kind of house he grew up in. We had
-
praying parents. And in about November of 1996,
-
when we had been up for a few days and come off
-
of it, my friend came back and he was weird.
-
For the next four months, he didn't talk. We
-
just took him everywhere we went, but he stopped
-
talking. And he was weird. And us dopeheads were
-
planning his intervention. So you know it's bad
-
when dopeheads are planning another dopehead's
-
intervention. And so that was where we were living.
-
But my friend went through four months of this,
-
February 1, 97. I had been up at the University
-
of Arkansas partying that night, show up at his
-
house another day to hang out, and he comes running
-
out the front door screaming at me at the top
-
of his lungs, screaming, Corey, it's heaven or
-
hell. Corey, it's heaven or hell. You need to
-
make a decision right now. This is the first
-
conversation I've had with him in four months.
-
And now he's screaming about Jesus and heaven
-
and hell. And Corey, if you don't give your life
-
to Jesus, you're going to go to hell. And he
-
had like five brothers and sisters out in the
-
front yard. I go, dude, chill out. Well, he won't
-
chill out. And so I grabbed my other buddy and
-
we leave. And it was known he had come back to
-
Jesus. He went through a powerful three -day
-
deliverance. He got radically saved and I got
-
angry. I had put up with a weirdo for four months
-
and you don't get saved at 20. You get saved
-
at 30 when you're ready to calm down with your
-
life. And so I was very angry at him for leaving
-
me. Two weeks later, he showed up at the college
-
that I was at, and he took me to lunch, and he
-
began to share with me that for those four months,
-
the spirit realm was opened up, and that he was
-
seeing angels and demons, and he was seeing what
-
was controlling people, and that we were being
-
controlled by real devils. He says, Corey, this
-
is what's going on. He says, I've seen what your
-
life, you are being controlled. He says, and
-
we were shut up in a little house. He goes, this
-
is what happened to me. A couple of weeks earlier,
-
we were shut up in a little house. And the voice
-
of the Lord broke in the middle of the party
-
that we were at. And the Lord spoke to my friend
-
saying, he goes, Satan is raising up an army,
-
but I'm raising up an army too. And I'm calling
-
you out tonight. And I want you to go call your
-
friends out. So he's over lunch telling me, Corey.
-
You need to give your life to Jesus or you will
-
go to hell. I looked him right in the face. I
-
said, dude, shut up and take me back to school.
-
I never want to hear any of this again. He goes,
-
fine. He drives back to the college, pulls into
-
the parking lot. I was studying to be an elementary
-
teacher by degree. Wow. Thank God I got saved
-
on this side of the elementary teaching thing.
-
That was my third joke. That's all you got for
-
the rest of the night. It's about to get intense.
-
So this is the get to know you. This is the meet
-
and greet part of my message. So honestly, I
-
mean, thank God I didn't end up teaching your
-
little Timmy in school or something like that.
-
But anyway, he pulls to the parking lot, and
-
right before I get out of the van, Holy Spirit
-
filled the van. And I didn't know it was the
-
Holy Spirit. I felt some power move, and I started
-
cussing. I didn't know what it was. And before
-
I knew it, I'm shaking violently like I'm having
-
a seizure, and the power of God's touching my
-
body. and I'm seeing a tug -of -war battle between
-
light and darkness over my soul. My friend pulled
-
in the back of the parking lot, and I guess his
-
mom taught him one prayer because he went right
-
for it. He goes, in the name of Jesus, I bind
-
the Antichrist spirit. And as soon as he did,
-
it manifested into a chokehold around my throat,
-
and I couldn't breathe. And I knew at that moment,
-
let's get Jesus involved. Amen? We want Jesus
-
when you've got some devil around your throat.
-
And so I go to say his name, but all I can get
-
out is, geez, geez, geez. It kept getting tighter
-
and tighter and tighter. And he's in my ear screaming,
-
say it, say it, say it. I said, I'm trying, I'm
-
trying. And I remember taking a deep breath and
-
with all the power inside of me screaming, Jesus.
-
And right when I screamed his name, the hold
-
broke off of me. And it was like God came and
-
breathed into my mouth at that moment. And I
-
kept saying for the first five minutes, I've
-
got air, I've got air, I've got air. He's jumping.
-
He ran around the van dancing. Jericho's come
-
down. Jericho's come down. I didn't know what
-
Jericho was, but I knew it was deep. And so I
-
hadn't gone to Bible school yet. And so I kept
-
saying, I've got air, I've got air, I've got
-
air. And after a couple of minutes, I heard a
-
voice as clear as day saying. Get out of the
-
van and get on the pavement and give me your
-
life, your mind. And so this was February 18,
-
97. I jump out of the van, college kids running
-
everywhere, and I start screaming. Here's my
-
sinner's prayer. Jesus Christ, I give you my
-
life. I'm yours. Jesus Christ, I give you my
-
life. I'm yours. And in that moment, I pass from
-
death to life. In that moment. I was delivered.
-
We were sticking needles in our veins, smoke
-
a bag a day, drink a quesadilla, and in one raw
-
encounter with the presence of God, I was instantaneously
-
set free from all addiction, all perversion,
-
and the power of Satan. And the power of God
-
touched my life. I went home that afternoon,
-
and I sat on my porch swing for two hours, undone
-
by how blue the sky was, how green the grass
-
was, and how loud the birds were. I was absolutely
-
undone, and within a month, I had a drug ring
-
of friends that had encounters like that. I led
-
my little brother to the Lord, and we moved into
-
a season of revival where the next six months
-
was half the high school coming to Jesus, five
-
meetings a week till three in the morning, and
-
I just got a holy addiction for the presence
-
of God. I had just gotten my second DWI right
-
before I got saved. So I couldn't go anywhere.
-
So I was like, God, I've got to get all those
-
Tupac lyrics out of my head. I've got to get
-
some Bible in my head so I'd read the Bible for
-
eight hours a day. And I fell madly in love with
-
the presence of God. And that's really what's
-
driven me up until this day. That was whatever,
-
22, 23 years ago. I'm just a man that's madly
-
in love with the presence of God and proximity
-
to God. Is the purpose of our existence. It's
-
not just knowing him. And having get out of jail
-
free card. Not going to hell. It's eternal life.
-
Which is found in the search. And the discovery
-
of how beautiful God really is. How exhilarating
-
God really is. How fascinating God really is.
-
How absolutely beautiful he is. How glorious
-
his son is. And how this is eternal life, not
-
going to some cloud up there, but knowing the
-
only true God and Jesus Christ whom you've sent.
-
And I want to tell you what's as deadly as being
-
a strung out drug addict. It's a person that
-
has a form of religion, but has not experienced
-
the power of it. What's more dangerous than a
-
strung out drug addict is a form of godliness,
-
devoid of encounter. You were made for encountering
-
a real person with eyes like fire, head like
-
wool, his eyes are on fire, and you were made
-
for deep intimacy with him. Can I go there tonight?
-
Can I go there? God's going to deliver you and
-
deliver us from the greatest cancer and crisis
-
confronting the church in America, and it's the
-
cancer called boredom. We're not ready. Go to
-
Ephesians 1. Are we okay? You were already there.
-
Verse 15, Paul says, this is the prayer. I can't
-
stop praying that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ,
-
the Father of glory, would give to you the spirit
-
of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of
-
him. I love it that pastor just prayed another
-
apostolic prayer out of Colossians 1. I'm praying
-
one out of Ephesians 1. That the God of Jesus,
-
everybody say God of Jesus. And then he calls
-
him, my favorite title of God in Scripture, he
-
calls him the Father of Glory. The Father of
-
Glory. And this is his prayer for the church.
-
It's not for the lost. It's for the church. That
-
the Father of glory would give to the church
-
the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge
-
of him. The him he's talking about is Jesus.
-
It's his glorious son that from the previous
-
14 verses says that we have so many spiritual
-
blessings, so many heavenly blessings in this
-
man. We have been accepted in Christ Jesus. We
-
have an inheritance in Christ Jesus. We are forgiven
-
in Christ Jesus. We are redeemed in Christ Jesus.
-
We are sealed with the Holy Spirit. We know the
-
mystery of his will in Christ. And Paul says,
-
you have received these things. You haven't been
-
brought into the revelation of what you've been
-
given. That's why I can't stop praying for the
-
spirit of revelation in the knowledge of him.
-
And then he prays that the eyes of your understanding
-
would be opened. And that you would know the
-
hope of his calling. That you would know what
-
are the riches of the glory of his inheritance
-
inside of you. And that you would know the exceeding
-
greatness of his power. I like to say that I
-
would know where I'm going. I would know who
-
I am to Jesus. And I would know that he specializes
-
in raising dead people, dead things, dead relationships,
-
and dead circumstances. My favorite verse in
-
the Bible is the first one. Because in the very
-
beginning of your Bible, it says, in the beginning,
-
God. So you've got to ask yourself, we see from
-
the very first couple of verses of Scripture,
-
we see the Father, we know from John 1, and through
-
the Word, all things were made. So we have the
-
Father, we have the Son, and we see the Spirit
-
brooding over the darkness. So from the very
-
beginning, we see the Father, the Son, and the
-
Holy Spirit. In the beginning, before there was
-
ever anything created, there was God. And you've
-
got to ask yourself a very important question
-
from the very first verse of the Bible. If God's
-
there in the beginning, when did he begin? And
-
it's at that moment that you jump off the pages.
-
And you go on the search of the discovery of
-
the beginning of God's days. And I would encourage
-
you to go home tonight and think about this.
-
Maybe a million years before Genesis 1. Maybe
-
a billion years. Maybe a trillion years. Maybe
-
999 trill. 999 bill. 999 mill. 999 thou. 999
-
years. And you're going to keep going and going
-
and going. And you're going to hit a wall. And
-
the wall is called out of numbers. And when you
-
hit the wall called out of numbers, you've got
-
to stop and then look back to Genesis 1 and say
-
to yourself, I'm actually closer to Genesis 1
-
right now than I am to the beginning. Our God
-
is uncreated. There's never been a time that
-
he was not. He has always been. He inhabits eternity.
-
Jesus' name is called Alpha. He's the first.
-
The Father is the one. The ancient of days. And
-
it says that He dwells in eternity. And that
-
He is from everlasting and He's to everlasting.
-
There's no beginning to the beginning of God's
-
days. I love Micah chapter 5 saying, Oh Bethlehem,
Micah 5 chapter mention
-
there's a ruler that's coming through you whose
-
goings forth are from everlasting. That he is
-
the one that was before anything. You must understand
-
when dealing with God that you're dealing with
-
uncreated. You're dealing with something outside
-
of any framework, any logic, anything that we
-
have to deal with, and we are dealing with eternity.
-
We are dealing with the uncreated God. Why is
-
that important, God? Why is that important? Number
-
one, it punches you in the forehead to say he
-
ain't like anybody you've ever met. Worship.
-
is around fascination, around something you'll
-
be searching for billions of years. You don't
-
worship what you've figured out. Why is that
-
important? Because what kind of love has he loved
-
us with? An everlasting love. His mercy is an
-
everlasting mercy. His goodness is an everlasting
-
goodness. His power, his dominion, all that he
-
has has always been, and no one can take it away,
-
not even you on a bad week. All right, maybe
-
that one's a little too much for you. Everybody
-
hold your hand out like this. Not only is God
-
eternal, God is transcendent, which means he's
-
far above everything common and created. He is
-
infinite. His glory fills the highest of the
-
heavens. And in Isaiah 40, it says that God measures
-
the heavens with His hand, with the span of His
-
hand. I ain't playing. Hold your hand like this
-
now. He measures all the waters in the palm of
-
His hand. He weighs all the mountains in scales.
-
The nations are but a drop in the bucket before
-
him, and the inhabitants are like grasshoppers.
-
He hung the earth on nothing. We're going to
-
worship tonight, and I may not play an instrument.
-
Is that okay? Have you ever read the book of
-
Job before? Hard season? I tell you, the hardest
-
thing that Job went through was listening to
-
his friends talk to him. I call it Facebook comments.
-
It's 30 chapters of Facebook comments. While
-
everybody's giving their diagnosis of what Job
-
did wrong to be in the situation he's in. And
-
everybody coming with their two cents of knowledge
-
acting like they're a PhD in something. And God,
-
they talk for 30 chapters and then God shows
-
up in a tornado. And how is God going to comfort
-
a suffering man who's lost everything, eaten
-
up with boils, whose life is completely shattered?
-
How does God comfort a suffering man? He asked
-
him a hundred questions with the same answer.
-
Were you there when I did Genesis 1? Did you
-
hang the earth on nothing? Did you tell the proud
-
waves they can come this far and no more? Did
-
you hang galaxies? Do you know about Big Bear,
-
Little Bear, Orion, and all her little cubs?
-
Can we talk about galaxies? Can we talk about
-
the cosmos? Okay, we don't talk about those things.
-
Do you know the mating season of the deer? Do
-
you know the name of little creatures in the
-
bottom of the ocean and understand their cycles?
-
Do you send lightning in the middle of the desert
-
just because? Why is God going to ask a suffering
-
man a hundred questions with the same answer
-
spanning from Genesis 1 to upholding galaxies
-
to taking care of the most smallest, most minutest
-
details of creation? What's God saying? He's
-
saying, Job. If I've got Genesis 1 on my resume,
-
upholding that, caring for that, and everything
-
in between, then surely I know how to take the
-
crowning jewel of my creation, taking you and
-
to bring you forth into the fullness of your
-
destiny with perfect wisdom and perfect power
-
and perfect care. Which means shut up, I know
-
what I'm doing. He's the God of our Lord Jesus
-
Christ. He's the God who brings His Son who is
-
born into the world. Because guys, I want to
-
tell you. They'll come through here. He's the
-
God of our Lord Jesus Christ. He's the God who
-
uses absolute failure to disarm principalities
-
and powers. There was all of those disciples
-
left Jesus. Christ crucified is the wisdom of
-
God. And Christ crucified is the power of God.
-
It's weakness and foolishness to this world,
-
but it's the power and the wisdom of God. He's
-
the God who presents His own Son and then raises
-
Him from the dead. He's the Father of glory.
-
Do you know that God dwells in unapproachable
-
light? Do you know that God wraps Himself with
-
light? Do you know that God is light and in Him
-
is no darkness at all? Psalm 104 says He wraps
-
Himself with light. We know the new Jerusalem
-
will have no need for the sun or the moon, for
-
the Lamb will be the light of the city. God Himself
-
is going to light up a 1 ,500 mile long city
-
with Himself. He's the light of the world. And
-
he shines. He shines in unapproachable glory
-
and beauty. He is the father of glory. James
-
calls him the father of lights. Hebrews calls
-
him the father of spirits. Paul calls him father
-
of mercies. And we get to call him our father
-
who art in heaven. Hallowed be your name. He's
-
Abba. He's father. He is our beautiful Father,
-
and He's the Father of glory, and He shines.
-
Here's my burden, and I want to look now at Revelation
Revelation 4 chapter mention
-
chapter 4. It's time for the church to get out
-
of first heaven's chatter and second heaven's
-
chatter, and it's time to get connected to the
-
third heaven realm. No, no, hear me. We are so...
-
in the narratives, in the culture narratives
-
of the day. Friend, it's time to come up higher.
-
I wish Revelation 4 caught our attention like
-
that helicopter did. I'm serious. Revelation
-
4, there's a holy invitation being given to weak,
-
broken people like us. This is the one phrase
-
I heard tonight when I was praying this afternoon.
-
The Lord gave me Isaiah 50 verse 4. It's that
-
he gives me the tongue of the learned that I
-
could speak a word in season to him who's weary.
-
Some of you are very weary. I get it. It's been
-
a very hard year. Life, pressure, finances, uncertainty,
-
anxiety. And many of you pulled yourself. to
-
even this point. And I felt like this word right
-
here is a word from heaven for weary souls. I
-
feel like this word and this message can stabilize
-
a fainting heart. I love Jesus because in John
-
16, 31 and 2, He says, in the world, you will
-
have tribulation. He says it's inevitable. It's
-
coming to the saints. The believer and the unbeliever
-
alike, tribulation comes, but Jesus says for
-
the believer, you get to hope in this and understand
-
this. I've overcome the world. And then do you
-
know what Jesus did? It says he lifted his eyes
-
to heaven and he said, Father, the hour's come.
-
The way to navigate tribulation in this world
-
is by learning how to ascend. It's by learning
-
how to lock eyes with the Father on the throne
-
and to connect to that unseen realm until the
-
unseen becomes seen in your life. Most of us
-
worship our circumstances. Most of us live from
-
swirl to swirl. I get it. Emotional swirl. All
-
the swirls of this life. But I believe there's
-
a holy invitation. And I believe the power of
-
the Holy Spirit is going to touch you tonight
-
to bring a breakthrough and to bring a deliverance
-
into a new place of seeing God and of anchoring
-
your soul in the throne room. I'm thinking of
-
Hebrews 11 where it says that Moses endured because
-
he saw him who is invisible. Seeing. him who
-
is invisible. And your ability to endure is connected
-
that the unseen realm becomes more seen to you.
-
I believe Revelation 4 is absolutely a must in
-
this hour. The apostle John has been exiled to
-
Patmos. He's in a work camp. He's 90 years old.
-
They tried to kill him twice. He wouldn't die.
-
And he has an encounter with Jesus in chapter
-
1, gives seven letters, and then in chapter 4,
-
he sees a door standing open in heaven. And he
-
hears a voice like a trumpet saying, come up
-
here, and I will show you things which must take
-
place. I declare to every one of you right now,
-
if you're jacked up, weary, fainting, barely
-
making it, struggling with addiction, struggling
-
with all kinds of things, I want you to know
-
there's an invitation being given to you right
-
now to come up, to come out, and to come in to
-
a new place in God. There's no other group He
-
has to deal with than jacked up folk like us.
-
There are no superstars. There's nobody that's
-
arrived. There's jacked up people like us that
-
need God. And God issues the invitation to you
-
saying, come up here and I will show you things.
-
Because without vision, you perish. Without vision,
-
you perish. And as soon as you stop seeing, you
-
start dying. As soon as you stop seeing, you
-
start dying. And I will show you things immediately.
-
I was in the spirit. What I'm about to speak
-
to you is not Disney World. It's not a make -believe
-
place. It's a reality that is happening right
-
now. This is really happening right now. This
-
is the living room, the throne room of the new
-
Jerusalem, and it's way up there. And by faith
-
and through the Holy Spirit, you and I have been
-
raised with Christ and seated in this spiritual
-
place. But that city is going to come down very
-
soon. We always talk about us going up there.
-
Friend, heaven's coming down. Let me tell you
-
the gospel. It's not fat babies sitting on clouds
-
up there. Heaven is coming. A 1 ,500 mile wide,
-
long, and high city is going to come out of heaven
-
and is going to descend upon this earth. And
-
it's specifically going to descend over the city
-
of Jerusalem where two realms will become one,
-
where Jesus will rule over the nations of the
-
earth from Mount Zion. The king you're longing
-
for is coming. I'm not playing. This is the gospel.
-
This is the gospel. Come up here immediately.
-
And then I love this. He says, immediately I
-
was in the spirit. And the first thing that John
-
sees is a throne set in heaven. I'm praying.
-
I felt the Lord whisper to me this afternoon.
-
I'm going to take a lot of October and fast and
-
pray for the next election. I'm going to be leaning
-
in this whole month. I'm going to be praying
-
for government officials. I'm going to be doing
-
my civic duty and leaning in that God would do
-
things for us and for our children. But I want
-
you to understand something, that my hope is
-
not fully in November 3rd. My hope isn't fully
-
in November 3rd. I'm locked in on a throne that
-
is set in heaven. That is far above every White
-
House. That's above every Buckingham Palace.
-
That's above every Saudi Sheikh. That's above
-
every palace in this world. There is a throne
-
set in heaven. There is a throne set in heaven.
-
It's an immovable throne. It's far above every
-
power and principality and ruler and dominion.
-
It's above every angelic power. There is a throne
-
set in heaven. He's set enthroned at the flood,
-
and he sits as king forever. There is a throne
-
set in heaven, and John says, one set on the
-
throne. Hear, O Israel, the Lord your God is
-
one. I saw one sitting on the throne, and he
-
who sat there was shining bright like a jasper,
-
burning like sardius. John is seeing light. And
-
fire engulfing itself. And he sees an emerald
-
rainbow surrounding the throne. I declare to
-
you, this is who God is and what God's like.
-
Our God is beautiful. But he's not some stoic,
-
detached ball of light at a distance. He is burning
-
fire. He is the God who comes after you. He's
-
not stoic. He's not indifferent. He's the engaged
-
God. He's the passionate flame. He's the God
-
that when humanity doesn't want Him, says, ha
-
-ah, and comes down here and takes on your flesh.
-
And the perfect life you could not live, He lived.
-
And then He climbed up on that cross and bore
-
the wrath of the Father. Grabbed you into Himself.
-
broke you out of the grave, and ascends you to
-
the right hand of Abba. Our God is not stoic.
-
He's flame. He's intense. There's nothing passive
-
about Him. He's a flame. Everything in the presence
-
of God is on fire. Jesus' eyes are on fire. Daniel
-
7 has a throne of fire with wheels of fire and
-
a river of fire. Ezekiel 1, the man's on fire.
-
Day of Pentecost, tongues of fire. John the Baptist
-
says he will baptize you with fire. Road to Emmaus,
-
their hearts were on fire. Fire tenderizes you.
-
Fire refines you. Fire burns the chaff. It consumes
-
the indifference. Most of us want to live at
-
a distance. How's that working in your marriages?
-
How's distance work in marriages? Our God is
-
an end to casual roommates. He's flame. But we
-
all know that if God's fire was let loose on
-
the planet, nobody could stand. That's why there's
-
an emerald rainbow surrounding God's throne.
-
Because usually most of us, the fiery ones, are
-
learning, Someone like me, my journey's been
-
tenderness. Some of you who are more tender,
-
your journey's been learning fire. But with God,
-
he's perfect flame and he's perfect mercy. He's
-
perfect tenderness and kindness and faithfulness.
-
Can I say something to everyone here? God is
-
the kindest person you will ever meet. He's kind.
-
He's actually kind to you. He dignifies you.
-
He's tender with you and He's patient with you.
-
He's not mostly agitated with you or disappointed
-
with you. He's mostly the patient intercessor
-
who breathes on your cold heart until it becomes
-
aflame again. Isaiah 42 says that He will not
-
snuff out smoldering wicks. You know what that
-
means? He's not intimidated by how cold you've
-
been. He's seen a lot harder cases than you.
-
What's going to happen when the mercy of God,
-
what's the most merciful thing God's ever done
-
for you? He didn't give you what you deserved.
-
We all deserve hell. But in Christ Jesus, we
-
receive heaven and the centerpiece of heaven,
-
the beautiful man, Christ. And in Revelation
-
4, we're going to see the mercy of God. We're
-
going to see 24 thrones surrounding God's throne.
-
And on them sit elders, and they're robed, throned,
-
and crowned. This is what you and I look like
-
in the presence of God. Who in here has given
-
your life to Jesus? Good. Can I tell you something?
-
You are as clean as Jesus is in the presence
-
of Abba. Because Jesus doesn't shop at thrift
-
stores. You're as close to Abba as Jesus is.
-
He takes his enemies. He takes prostitutes, perverts,
-
drug addicts, religious folk, and he gives you
-
thrones and he dignifies you. He crowns you.
-
He robes you. And he makes you his ruling class
-
with him. He loves to take enemies and jacked
-
up people and says you're going to rule with
-
me forever. Do you know you'll never get over
-
the fact? That he's taken people like us. You'll
-
be pinching yourself in a billion years saying,
-
how did I get in here? You will never get over
-
it. You got a verse for that, Corey? Yes. Ephesians
-
2, 7. That in the ages to come, he might show
-
the exceeding riches of his kindness towards
-
us in Christ Jesus. You're going to be pinching
-
yourself. You're never going to get over the
-
fact of his kindness and his mercy and his love.
-
What's going to happen when the church of Oregon
-
and the church of America wakes up to our identity
-
in Christ? What's going to happen when we shed
-
off widow clothes and widow mentality? What's
-
going to happen when we stop living like slaves
-
and orphans and prostitutes, hoarding everything?
-
What's going to happen? I'll tell you what's
-
going to happen. Lightnings are going to come
-
back to the church. Thunders are going to come
-
back to the church. Voices are going to come
-
back to the church. We're going to see the prophetic
-
spirit loosed again out of our mouths and out
-
of our lives over coffees and dinner tables and
-
pulpits. And we're going to see it at work. We're
-
going to see the release of the voice of God.
-
We're going to see whispers that break the hardest
-
resistance. When whispers shatter, when whispers
-
break, there's seven lamps of fire burning before
-
the throne of God. These are seven spirits of
-
God. And then we see a sea of glass. And then
-
here, just a few more minutes. Here's the throne.
-
Revelation 4, it's on the throne, before the
-
throne, around the throne. And then it says this,
-
and around the throne and in the midst of the
-
throne are four living creatures. And look at
-
this. They have eyes around. You're going to
-
meet these guys one of these days. Eyes lining
-
up foreheads. Their whole being is made up of
-
eyes and within. Which means they're translucent
-
creatures that their very insides are made up
-
of eyes. God had a blank slate and he goes, this
-
is what I want to do. Give them all eyes. One
-
like a lion, one like an eagle, one like a calf,
-
and one has the face of a man. And the Bible
-
says they do not rest day or night. Holy. Holy.
-
Holy. I didn't say ten seconds. I didn't say
-
ten seconds. Holy. Holy. Holy. They've been in
-
the same room with the same person singing the
-
same word forever. They've never gotten used
-
to Him. Why did God give them all them eyes?
-
To look at him. Why don't they stop? It's because
-
he never stops breaking in with fresh discoveries
-
of who he is. God wants to rip the scales of
-
boredom off your eyes. He wants to release fresh
-
fascination upon you. It grieves me that pornography,
-
that's why there's a fight for the eyes. You
-
understand that, right? You understand pornography
-
is a worship movement. It grieves me that we
-
have sold our birthright for so many other things.
-
Whether it be pornography, Facebook threads,
-
or anything else, the chatter of the day. Anything
-
instead of us looking at him. And I can feel
-
the jealousy of Abba saying, I'm calling you
-
up higher. I'm calling you up higher into a new
-
place of sight. I want to blow your mind with
-
fresh discoveries. I want to set my hand upon
-
your heart. I want to deliver you from boredom.
-
That's the greatest need for the day. Because
-
in Isaiah 6, it says in the year that King Uzziah
-
died, which means in the year that the political
-
Messiah died, Isaiah said, I saw the Lord. high
-
and lifted up, and the train of his robe filled
-
the temple. He says, I'm a man of unclean lips
-
because my eyes have seen the King, the Lord
-
of hosts. I believe that God wants to rip scales
-
of boredom off your heart tonight. Some of you
-
are bound in pornography and you're bound in
-
the second heaven's chatter of what Biden did
-
today or what Trump did yesterday. And I'm like,
-
we've got to be able to navigate because the
-
Lord whispered to me at the beginning of 2020,
-
a verse out of Jeremiah 12 verse 5, and it's
-
if you've walked with the footmen and they wore
-
you out, how are you going to begin to run with
-
the horses in the floodplain of the Jordan? Which
-
means this, if you can't handle a 2 .0 on the
-
treadmill, there's an 8 that's coming. I want
-
to be very clear with you. I believe we're steadily
-
moving, and I don't believe, as we've known it,
-
I definitely want this season to end and mass
-
to end and all that stuff to end, but I believe
-
we have crossed over a threshold in the divine
-
storyline of God, and the birth pangs are only
-
going to increase. We just want to go back to
-
normal, and friend, I want that, but I don't
-
believe we are. We're crossing into a new season,
-
which means lazy boy Christianity is not going
-
to cut it. It's going to take a greater intentionality
-
and a greater purpose swimming against the current
-
of the tide. And whatever is catching your attention
-
in this season, I believe the only safe place
-
is fascination with His beauty. I believe the
-
only safe place is fascination with the beautiful
-
God. And I believe that God wants to release
-
a touch upon your life tonight. I felt it in
-
my heart. We didn't even know we were going to
-
be able to have this. I said, I don't care. I'll
-
do this in front of an empty room on a screen.
-
I just knew I had to say this here. I'm not being
-
melodramatic. I'm being someone who's been leaning
-
into this for a second. And I can fear, Corey,
-
the only safe place is my beauty. Come out of
-
the lesser. Anyway, let's stand. We're going
-
to give our eyes to Jesus. Okay? You know what
-
Jesus' eyes look like? If fire is the window
-
to the soul, What do Jesus' eyes tell you about
-
his soul? Fire. I want to tell you your great
-
way of change is not by trying harder. I hate
-
that demonic statement. I hate let's try harder.
-
That means that it's about you. It's not about
-
trying harder. It's about looking at him more.
-
We are transformed as we behold him. We are transformed
-
as we behold him. Yeah. Hallelujah. Come Holy
-
Spirit. I want to give our eyes to Jesus. And
-
I know this may be a little intense for some
-
of you, but we're going to do it. Put your hands
-
over your eyes. We need our eyes. We're going
-
to pray a prayer of repentance right now. I want
-
you to see in your mind's eye the man with eyes
-
like fire. And I want you just to see him right
-
now. I just want you to repeat this after me.
-
Just say, Jesus. Say it loud. Say, Jesus. I ask
-
you to forgive me for opening my eyes and my
-
spirit. To all forms of perversion. And the spirit
-
of this age. I ask you to forgive me. I ask you
-
to forgive me. I ask you for your blood. That
-
was shed at Calvary. To wash over me now. From
-
the top of my head. To the bottom of my feet.
-
I want my thoughts to be clean. My emotions to
-
be clean. And my desires to be clean. I receive
-
your cleansing. I believe that your blood is
-
stronger than my most shameful sin. So I receive
-
it now. And in the name of Jesus, I shut every
-
door to darkness. I break all agreement with
-
darkness. And I cut every tie with darkness.
-
And in the name of Jesus, I open up new doors.
-
Doors of light. Doors of truth. And doors of
-
revelation. In the name of Jesus. In the name
-
of Jesus. In the name of Jesus. Satan, you are
-
not my master. And I'm not your servant. Jesus
-
is my master. And I'm his servant. So I command
-
you now. Leave my mind. Leave my emotions. And
-
leave my desires. Everyone lift your hand. Just
-
say, Father. Give me. The spirit of revelation.
-
I want to see Jesus the way you see Jesus. Touch
-
me now, God. Release your presence right now,
-
Holy Spirit. Forgive us, God, for worshiping
-
at the altars of pornography. Cleanse us, Jesus.
-
Places we've gone to that we haven't been in
-
years during 2020. I want to tell you today is
-
a new day. Some of you have gone back to old
-
places in 2020 and the Lord says it's a new day
-
right now. Just release the blood of Jesus over
-
this campus, Lord, over this people. If this
-
helps you, you have your prayer language. I want
-
you to begin to lightly pray in the spirit. Come
-
on, look at him and pray in the spirit. Some
-
of you need to come up here. I want to pray for
-
you. The Lord's resting on you in a special way
-
right now. I want to pray for you. Just come
-
up here. Make a line right up here. I'll pray
-
for you. Beauty, beauty, beauty, beauty. LifeBibleChurch
