  1. Welcome to Transformation Church Podcast, where we represent God to

  2. the lost and found for transformation in Christ. We're so

  3. glad you're here and wherever you're listening from, we believe

  4. God will transform your life. To today's message.

  5. Welcome to week two of the Word of God. Somebody

  6. say the Word of God. You gotta deepen your voice

  7. and got the Word of God.

  8. Come on now, I can't do that.

  9. But anyways, we said this last week. This is our premise.

  10. This is the thesis for the entire series.

  11. It anchors on this truth.

  12. This is not a suggestion, This is not up for hypothesis.

  13. This is straight facts of what I'm about to say,

  14. and it is this.

  15. The Word of.

  16. God is the only foundation that has the peace, purpose

  17. and power to sustain the human soul. It's the only

  18. one that can hold you up in a storm. It's

  19. the only one one that can tell you who you

  20. actually are, not what your situation has made you to be.

  21. I'm gonna help some of y'all.

  22. Some of you, the experiences you've had, the traumas you've

  23. went through, have made you become a version of yourself

  24. that is not actually you.

  25. Let me help you.

  26. So when you're little, and you don't get attention. You

  27. performed for attention, and that was how you got it.

  28. Now you have continued to do that pattern and you

  29. are a grown person and the only reason you do

  30. half the stuff you do is so somebody will look

  31. at you and say, hey, I appreciate you. And if

  32. they don't know the show outfit, your whole day is ruined.

  33. Well, what the.

  34. Bible does is it provides a better identity than the

  35. approval of people. It says, whether you like me or not,

  36. whether you like my outfit or not, I'm already liked

  37. and loved and chosen by God. So I don't need

  38. your approval. I don't need nothing from you. The Bible

  39. is the only foundation that you.

  40. Can stand on.

  41. And that's why we're spending some time digging into the

  42. Word of God. And you know, there's a study done

  43. people interviewed churches around the world and primarily in the West.

  44. They said, what is the biggest thing people struggle with? Like,

  45. what questions do they have about church? And the first

  46. question was how do I read the Bible? And the

  47. second one the people asked was I don't know how

  48. to pray?

  49. How do I read a Bible and how do I pray?

  50. And what I love about our church is our church

  51. is intentionally addressing those two questions every single week. Every

  52. single week we have prayer where you can come and

  53. learn and grow how to pray.

  54. And every single week.

  55. We're gonna get in the Word on Sunday and we're

  56. gonna study the Bible.

  57. And it was funny. I was talking to a friend.

  58. A friend texted me last night and he's off at

  59. school and he was like, yo, man, I'm struggling to

  60. I got two things. One, I'm struggling to read the Bible,

  61. and then when I do read it, it doesn't feel

  62. like it applies to what's going on in my life.

  63. And I text him back and I was like, yo

  64. I immediately it was like twelve thirty at night, and

  65. he was like, what in the world, why did you

  66. text you back? And I was like, well, you text me,

  67. so I text you back. And so we were talking,

  68. but I said the first thing is he plays football,

  69. said every time you do a workout, do you feel

  70. faster immediately after the workout, like immediately after you lift

  71. them weight, you feel faster, stronger, quicker.

  72. Do you feel that every single.

  73. Time and he literally just texts, oh, I see where

  74. you going with this? And I said, no, So just

  75. because you don't feel it don't mean it ain't working.

  76. And there's a part of reading scripture that is the

  77. discipline and the practice of it. So I don't want

  78. to skip over that.

  79. Sometimes we got.

  80. All these tricks and tips. The real trick and tip

  81. is you got to open up that book. There is

  82. no supersed fast way to get around. You gotta open

  83. that thing up and you gotta read it. And the

  84. second thing I told him, I said, there are some

  85. things that make it easier in some better places, I said,

  86. And I listen, I'm talking to like a eighteen nine

  87. year old kids, and some of you are like, oh, ca,

  88. you believe you said that.

  89. Chill out, okay.

  90. But the first thing I said, I said, number one,

  91. you ain't got no business in the Old Testament. Stay

  92. away from old tech. You don't know what's going on.

  93. There's a lot of weird stuff. Unless somebody is walking

  94. you through it, you're gonna get real confused. Around Genesis

  95. chapter six, when angels start coming down and sleeping with

  96. Pea people, and then Cousins is making love. It's just

  97. a weird situation. You ain't got no business in Old Testament.

  98. Second thing, I was like, when you can start with

  99. maybe a Proverbs a day. And Third, all of Paul's letters.

  100. Are really good.

  101. He texts back immediately he said, oh dang, I was

  102. deep in Exodus. I was like, yeah, brother, you gotta

  103. get out of there. He's running football routes, like so

  104. the locusts.

  105. He's like, I don't know why that's.

  106. An apply to my life, but reading the Bible is

  107. a real thing. And so the reason we're doing this

  108. series is to give us some practical handles of how

  109. do we walk through scripture and how does it apply

  110. to our life? And so today we are going to

  111. jump into Galatians chapter two.

  112. Galatians chapter two.

  113. We did verse one last week, so I'm likes, everybody,

  114. just stand up, stand on your feet, please, We're gonna

  115. stand for the reading of God's word.

  116. I know some of y'all like, why are we standing?

  117. Well when a king walks in, you stand up. I'm

  118. not the king, but the king is talking hello somebody.

  119. So we're standing to honor the word of God. I'm

  120. gonna read fast, So y'all ain't got a stand for

  121. two long. Calm down. It's on the sky Bible. If

  122. you didn't bring your bible, and sky Bible that's what

  123. we call it. So here's what it says, Galatians, chapter two.

  124. I'll read some of it off the screen. It says,

  125. Then fourteen years later, I went back to Jerusalem again,

  126. this time with Barnabas, and Titus came along too. I

  127. went there because God revealed to me that I should go.

  128. While I was there, I met privately with those considered

  129. to be leaders of the church and share with them

  130. the message I have been preaching to the gentiles.

  131. This it's Paul talking.

  132. So you know Paul, he was killing Christians. He gets saved,

  133. he starts preaching, and then like the committee is like,

  134. all right, brother, hold on, before you get too deep

  135. in this, we gotta check what you saying. So they

  136. call him in for a special meeting. He said, they

  137. wanted to make sure that we were in agreement, for

  138. they for the fear that all my efforts have been

  139. wasted and I was running the race for nothing, and

  140. they supported me and did not demand that my companion

  141. tit Us be circumcised. Hello, watch out, that's a little crazy, though,

  142. he was a gentile moving right Lilae and says even

  143. that question came up only because of some so called believers.

  144. There, false ones.

  145. He's throwing shots, really, he said, who were secretly brought in.

  146. They sneaked to spy on us, to take away the

  147. freedom we had earned in Christ Jesus. They wanted to

  148. enslave us and force us to follow their Jewish rules.

  149. But we refuse to give in to them because they're

  150. lame and not for a single moment. We wanted to

  151. preserve the truth of this gospel message.

  152. Keep going with me.

  153. It says this, and the leaders of the church had

  154. nothing to add to what I was preaching.

  155. Now, listen to this.

  156. This is why I love Paul, because he's just throwing

  157. shots left and right. By the way, this in parentheses,

  158. this is just.

  159. A little rant.

  160. He's like writing a letter to the church that will

  161. be saved and canonized for thousands of years. And he says, also,

  162. by the way, the reputation is a great leader literally

  163. made no difference to me, for God has no favorites.

  164. He's just like, just so.

  165. You know, they called me in for a little meeting.

  166. I didn't care what they said because God chose me.

  167. God called me, so regardless of what they said, I

  168. was gonna keep preaching anyways. Instead, they saw God had

  169. given me the responsibility of preaching the Gospel to the Gentiles,

  170. just as he had given Peter the responsibility of.

  171. Preaching to the Jews.

  172. They realized everybody's not called to do the same thing.

  173. That would shut down a lot of comments sections if

  174. we could realize that for the same God who worked

  175. through Peter as the apostle to the Jews also worked

  176. through me as the apostle to the Gentiles. In fact, James, Peter,

  177. and John, who are known as pillars of the Church,

  178. recognized the gift God had given me, and they accepted

  179. Barnabas and Me as their coworkers.

  180. They encouraged us.

  181. To keep preaching to the Gentiles, or they continued their

  182. work to the Jews. Their only suggestion was that we

  183. keep helping the poor, which we were already gonna do again.

  184. They ain't got no new ideas verse eleven. This is

  185. where we're gonna camp out today, this is where we're

  186. gonna preach, it says. But when Peter came to Antioch,

  187. I had to oppose.

  188. Him to his face. Come on, y'all, just that's all

  189. in combative people.

  190. Yeah, you don't even.

  191. Know why he did that.

  192. Let's fight, Okay, calm down, Row three all right. When

  193. he first arrived, he ate with the gentile believers who

  194. were not circumcised. But then when some of the friends

  195. of James came, Peter wouldn't meet with the gentiles no more.

  196. He was afraid of.

  197. The criticism from these people who insisted on the necessity

  198. of circumcision. As a result, other Jewish believers followed his hypocrisy.

  199. Even Barnabas was led astray.

  200. When I saw that they were not following the truth

  201. of the Gospel message, I said to Peter in front

  202. of all the others, Paul, is no joke. Since you,

  203. a Jew by birth, have discarded the Jewish laws and

  204. are living like a gentile, why are you now trying

  205. to make the gentiles follow your Jewish rules?

  206. Come on, some of us do this.

  207. We got our own rules, then we stopped following. Then

  208. we judge everybody else who ain't following the rules.

  209. Not following.

  210. Oh you know what, it ain't been to church in

  211. a while. You just showed up today. What are you

  212. talking about? You have a two week streak, and I'm

  213. proud of you. But let's chill. It says you and

  214. I are Jews by birth, not sinners like the Gentiles.

  215. Yet we know that the sinner.

  216. Yet we know a person is not made right with God,

  217. is made right with God by faith in Jesus, not

  218. by obeying the law. We believe that Christ Jesus. So

  219. and we believed in Christ Jesus, so that may we

  220. may we may, Oh Lord, let me slow down here

  221. almost just okay, here we go. Got that Moses anointing? Anyways,

  222. you gotta read your Bible. He had a stutter. Okay, Charles,

  223. come down, This doesn't stand up.

  224. Okay.

  225. But suppose we seek to be made right with God

  226. through faith in Christ, and then we are found to

  227. be guilty because we have abundantly abandoned the law. Would

  228. that mean that Christ has led us in descend Absolutely not. Rather,

  229. if I am a sinner, if I listen to this,

  230. I am a sinner. If I rebuild the old system

  231. of law that was already torn down. For when I

  232. tried to keep the law, it condemned me. So I

  233. died to the law. Listening to this, I stopped trying

  234. to keep all its requirements so I might live for God.

  235. My old self has been crucified with Christ. It's no

  236. longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.

  237. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in

  238. the son of God, who loved me and gave himself

  239. for me. I do not treat the grace of God

  240. as meaningless, for if keeping the law could make us

  241. right with God, then there was no need for Christ

  242. to die. Hello, somebody, you may be seated. I want

  243. to pray for us real quick, and we're gonna jump

  244. into the message. Holy Spirit. Would you meet us, would

  245. you speak? Would you do something thing only you can do?

  246. It's in your name, We pray it. Everybody said, Amen.

  247. If you're taking notes so much, you to write down

  248. the title of my sermon today, right at the top

  249. of your paper or in your notes. It's the title

  250. is this. There is a place for you at my table.

  251. There's a place for you underlying you at my table.

  252. Me and my wife Abby Rose have been together for

  253. ten years.

  254. Now, and when we thank you.

  255. When we first got together, I'll remember we were doing

  256. our registry and I didn't necessarily understand fully how the

  257. registry worked. But if you've ever done a registry, you

  258. walk through there like you have actual money in your

  259. bank account. So I had the little thing, you know,

  260. they give you the little scanner. We're at Target or

  261. somewhere and I'm.

  262. Like, boot boot boot boot.

  263. I'm just scanning some random spoons. I'm like, oh, two spatch,

  264. let's thank you, boot boom. I'm scanning everything.

  265. I remember.

  266. We're going around doing our registry and Abby's like, hey,

  267. we need to get a kitchen table. Put that on there.

  268. See if anybody get us a kitchen table. You know,

  269. with the registry, you're really hoping people just all of

  270. a sudden getting money out of nowhere.

  271. People you know, is broke.

  272. You're like maybe if somebodyn'boy else it's six thousand dollars things.

  273. So we're going through scared and stuff, and Abby's like, yo,

  274. we need a kitchen table. I'm like, oh, we don't

  275. need a kitchen table. I've already got one, and she

  276. was like, what do you mean. I was like, I've

  277. got a kitchen table.

  278. We're fine.

  279. So we get married, had the honeymoon, we come back

  280. to the house and this is the kitchen table. I

  281. was this is it right? Here is the actual kitchen table.

  282. The great thing.

  283. About this kitchen table is you can just pick it up.

  284. It actually collapses. I think I'm not gonna do that.

  285. But I had this kitchen table and Abby was like,

  286. this is not a kitchen table. I said, first of all,

  287. as the head of this household, I'm joking, this is

  288. a kitchen table. No. We had a small apartment apartment,

  289. and I was like, why we need this big table?

  290. So Abby She's like, yeah, we're definitely gonna have to

  291. get a bigger table.

  292. And I was like, why do we need a bigger table?

  293. She was like, well, there's.

  294. Only two seats and I was like, well, there's only

  295. two of us, so it's actually perfect.

  296. I don't know what you're talking about.

  297. And she said, we need a bigger table for all

  298. the people we're going to have over. And it was

  299. at that point that I realized a couple things. The

  300. first thing is I didn't have any friends is the

  301. first thing I realized, because I was.

  302. Like, who is this list of people you know that

  303. will be coming to our house.

  304. I was so excited to meet them. And the second

  305. thing I realized is the way I had set up

  306. my life. Specifically, the way I had set up my

  307. table is that there was no space for anyone but

  308. me and one other person.

  309. There was no space at my table.

  310. So no matter who God sent my way, no matter

  311. who I met, no matter what interactions I wanted to have,

  312. no matter how much of an amazing host my wife was.

  313. There was only two seats at my table.

  314. And today I come to ask you the question, is

  315. their space at your table?

  316. Is there room at your table? You see, my.

  317. Wife, she is like a lineage of SuperHost is what

  318. I like to call them.

  319. Her, her mom and Mimi.

  320. Who has now gone to be with Jesus, our crazy

  321. amazing host. You walk into the house and somehow there

  322. are random French pastries being baked and weird salads with

  323. all sorts of different stuff in there. I don't even

  324. know what it is. There's hot tea and this is

  325. on a Tuesday at two thirty. This is not an event.

  326. And our families are very different in that way. You know.

  327. The Metcalfs are more of the type of people that

  328. show up to a party that has already been set,

  329. but then we get that thing jumping you hear what

  330. I'm saying, so you ain't got no tea, but you

  331. ain't crunk like the Metcalf. So you come to a

  332. Metcalf party. We gonna be lit, but you ain't gonna

  333. have no plates, there won't be nothing to drink, get

  334. in where you fit in. But my wife is an

  335. amazing host. And I remember talking to her and her

  336. explaining to me, we're gonna have tons of people in

  337. this house. We're gonna create space for people. And I

  338. literally had to learn and realize, oh, I'm gonna start

  339. setting the table not just for me. And I'm afraid

  340. there are many believers today that the only thing you

  341. are concerned with, the only thing we get concerned with

  342. in our modern world that can often lend to convenience

  343. and selfishness is the table is only set for two

  344. some of us. It is only set for us. In Jesus,

  345. it's just me and Jesus.

  346. Okay, I hear you.

  347. Some of us is just set for our family. It's

  348. just set for people who go to our church. It's

  349. just set for people who voted like us. It's just

  350. set for people who are in our same tax bracket.

  351. It's just set for people who aren't confused on their

  352. sexual identity. It's just set for people who can interpret

  353. the scriptures exactly.

  354. It's just set for.

  355. People who we think like, act like, look like. It's

  356. just set for people who are pretty much just like you.

  357. And the only problem is, as comfortable as that may be,

  358. it is completely contrary and opposite of the Jesus we

  359. follow and the gospel message he preached. Galatians Chapter two,

  360. Paul starts off. He's on his same energy as he

  361. was chapter one.

  362. He's firing shots. He's like, I don't need nobody, I

  363. don't care about nobody. I don't care who you are.

  364. I'm still gonna preach.

  365. And then he sees Peter, who's supposedly a big deal,

  366. and Paul does not care how big of a deal

  367. he is. He realizes there's something off with Peter. That is,

  368. Peter is switching up based on who he's around.

  369. He's switching up. Come on, you got these friends you around?

  370. Somebody like, what up? Dog? And then you're walking up.

  371. Like, hey, how you doing? Glad to be here?

  372. Uh?

  373. Yes?

  374. The stock market? It's like, what are you stock market?

  375. You can't even fail stock market? What are you talking about?

  376. But Peter is switching up. You see, there's the jew

  377. and the Gentiles. The jew are God's chosen people. They

  378. had the Law, they had of the Ten Commandments, all

  379. these things that were given to them as a means

  380. to simply be a band aid to the problem of

  381. sin that Jesus actually healed and was.

  382. The solution for.

  383. The only problem is Jesus comes. He dies on the cross,

  384. completely fulfills the law.

  385. But they want to keep their rules.

  386. Why because rules make it easier to measure if I'm.

  387. Better than you.

  388. Come on, this is why we still teach the law

  389. today in church. Some churches you will go and it'll

  390. be like, yay, hey, yeah, grace, but also do this,

  391. do this, do this, do this, because teaching rules makes

  392. it easy to measure who's a good Christian and who's

  393. a bad Christian. Grace doesn't do it for everybody. Come on,

  394. I know we preach grace, but I want something deeper

  395. than grace. Oh so you don't want Jesus, Paul says,

  396. you want to rebuild the old system that was torn

  397. down by the man who put on flesh and bloon

  398. and came and walked on this planet. You want your rules.

  399. So the Jews want their rules, and the Gentiles are

  400. kind of wild and rowdy, and they just heard Jesus

  401. is saving people if you believe in your heart and

  402. confess with their mouth, and they're like, let's go. And

  403. they're like those friends that first get saved. You know,

  404. those friends you got, They're like saved, they're on fire,

  405. but they also got some wild stuff.

  406. They're like, yo, just chill.

  407. It's like, no, Jesus, save me, bro I'm out here.

  408. It's like, yes, but just the guy's preaching. You can't

  409. be crumping while he's preaching. It's like, oh, love God,

  410. It's like okay. So this is the tension that's going on.

  411. And Peter, when none of his Jewish friends are around, he's.

  412. Like, man, I love y'all.

  413. Let's eat.

  414. Let's have dinner.

  415. And then his friends walk in and he immediately rejects them.

  416. Oh I don't know them. Oh yeah, we don't.

  417. We definitely don't eat with them.

  418. They're crazy.

  419. And Paul says, I called him out to his face,

  420. why because he was twisting the message of Jesus. And

  421. here's what I have found. There is so much tension

  422. that happens in the church, not even because of people

  423. who don't follow Jesus, but because I don't like the

  424. way you follow Jesus compared to the way I follow Jesus.

  425. That's all this is. They're both saved by grace in

  426. love with God, and they're saying you gotta follow him

  427. how I follow him, and if you don't follow him

  428. that way, it's wrong. And Paul comes to it and says, yo,

  429. it's not true. You're trying to make everybody follow these rules.

  430. But that's not the message Jesus spoke. This whole conversation,

  431. it centers around a table.

  432. Who should you eat or not eat with?

  433. Who should be at your table? As far as Peter

  434. is concerned, there are certain people who shouldn't be at

  435. the table. Are there people in your life that you

  436. feel like shouldn't be.

  437. At the table? Come on? I know we say like, all.

  438. Are welcome and God will take you as you are,

  439. but then we look at certain people and think, yeah, yea, yeah,

  440. but you gotta put on some different clothes.

  441. Come on now.

  442. Yeah yeah, but you better stop talking crazy because if

  443. you come in here in church like that, God might

  444. strike you en lightning.

  445. Yeah.

  446. Yeah, Grace is for everybody, but if you vote for

  447. that person.

  448. I don't know if you get grace anymore. Come on.

  449. Stuff you don't say, but we see it all the time.

  450. There are certain seats and yeah, yeah, everybody's welcome at

  451. my table. And then somebody walks up and you're like, oh, sorry,

  452. this seat is taken. Yeah, yeah, no, that seat is taken. Yeah.

  453. This is by my friend, this is by the person

  454. who voted like me, this is for my business partner.

  455. And then people show up.

  456. It's like yea, heay, yeah, but I'm sure there's other

  457. tables and everyone's banking on someone else's table.

  458. You're betting on.

  459. Oh well yeah, just come to church and let the

  460. whole church like love the neighborhood.

  461. No, no, no, you love your neighbor.

  462. Let's not stop blaming the church as the main place.

  463. You have an actual kitchen table. This is my actual

  464. kitchen table, real life. It's got stains. My kids. Then

  465. gouge the freaking wood out the thing. I get frustrated

  466. looking at it right now. This is where in a second,

  467. watch in a second, I'm gonna have my kids come

  468. up here.

  469. It'll be at the end of the message. I promise you,

  470. two girls is gonna fight.

  471. Over the seat. It happens every single day we sit

  472. at this table. But this whole sermon is around Peter

  473. feeling like he shouldn't sit at a certain table. And

  474. here's the question I asked myself, At what point did Peter,

  475. who walked with Jesus forget all the tables he sat

  476. at with Jesus. Peter, you don't eat with certain people.

  477. Do you remember when you went to the tax collector's house?

  478. Oh? You forgot when you were walking.

  479. With Jesus and a man's ichias was up in a

  480. tree and he gave up everything he had sitting in

  481. front of dinner with horrible sinners.

  482. Did you forget when you sat with Jesus at that table? Oh,

  483. you want to act different.

  484. Now you've been following Jesus and you've got a little status.

  485. In the church. Now, do you remember when you.

  486. Were at the Pharisees house and the woman who everybody

  487. said shouldn't come in busted open the door and started

  488. anointing Jesus's feet with oil and dried.

  489. It with her hair. Did you forget about that table?

  490. I know you've been following Jesus for a long time,

  491. and you get tons of prophetic words, and you've never

  492. missed a Bible study. But do you remember where Jesus

  493. found you? Do you remember when he came to your table?

  494. And somewhere along the way Peter forgot the countless dinners

  495. he sat at as people walked up and criticized his savior.

  496. Matthew nine, the Pharisees.

  497. Jesus is at a tax collector's house. Now you do

  498. not understand, and I cannot emphasize how insane this is.

  499. Tax collector they rob their own people. They literally are

  500. a part of the Jewish community. They start working for

  501. the Roman government. They would show up to people's house

  502. collecting taxes and would say, hey, they need one hundred

  503. and fifty dollars, when really they only need a ten.

  504. They would lie to them if they didn't give it

  505. to them. They would tell the Roman soldiers beat them up,

  506. take their money, and I'm gonna take the extra one

  507. hundred and forty dollars I made, and I'm gonna get

  508. rich off of taking advantage of my own people. This

  509. is the person that Jesus sits down in Matthew nine with.

  510. And look at what the scriptures say. It says this

  511. in Matthew nine. It says Matthew nine. Verse nine, It says,

  512. as Jesus was walking along, he saw a tax collector

  513. named Matthew, and he said, follow me. Later Matthew invited

  514. Jesus and disciples to his home as dinner guests. Listen

  515. to this language as along with many tax collectors and

  516. other disreputable sinners.

  517. This was a bad dinner party.

  518. All the bad people, all the people that we would

  519. think don't deserve Jesus, all the political figures you would

  520. be horrified.

  521. To see and to know and be seen with.

  522. Jesus calls a dinner and invites.

  523. Them all over. And this is what the scriptures say.

  524. But when the Pharisees or the church people, or the

  525. people with the rules saw.

  526. This, they asked his disciples, why does your teacher eat

  527. with such scum? Is there space table?

  528. There was space at Jesus table, space for Pharisees to

  529. ask questions, space for Mary to lay on his chest,

  530. and Martha to be so overwhelmed with her list that

  531. Jesus slowed her down. There was always space at Jesus table,

  532. space long enough for Zycheas to sit there and enjoy

  533. a meal. And then be so wrecked by just the

  534. presence of God that he stands up.

  535. This is what happens.

  536. Psycheah stands up and he's standing up, and his friends

  537. are like, stand up.

  538. It's like kids. He's like, oh am, you'll get that

  539. tomorrow when you read it.

  540. But he stands up and he says, I'm gonna give

  541. away everything I have.

  542. And they're like, what are you doing? Man?

  543. He's like, and if I've ever wronged anybody. His whole

  544. job is doing wrong to people. But he says, if

  545. I've ever wronged anybody, I'll give away twice as much

  546. back to them as I took from them. Peter was

  547. at every single one of these dinners. But somewhere along

  548. the way he started off at a table like this

  549. with Jesus, with Mary and Martha and the unnamed Pharisee

  550. and Simon, all these different people, And slowly, somehow he

  551. went from this table to this table. Somehow his table

  552. got so small that certain people weren't invited. Now, I

  553. want to be clear with you today, I'm not talking

  554. about an actual kitchen table. I'm talking about your life.

  555. Is their room in your life for people who are

  556. different than you?

  557. Is their room in your.

  558. Friend circle for people who don't know Jesus yet. Is

  559. their room with your kids for other kids who maybe

  560. parents aren't as present for them to come over and

  561. hang out, and you not be like, where your mama at?

  562. Why are you always over at my house?

  563. Maybe it's because they sense the peace of God in

  564. your house and they're trying to get something different. Maybe God, somehow,

  565. in his miraculous sovereign hand, realized you had exactly what

  566. that person needed. But you saw the way they were

  567. dressed and thought, there's no way God could.

  568. Be trying to get me to talk to him. What

  569. if he was?

  570. What if the people we look at crazy and we

  571. talk about are the very people God's trying to get

  572. to come sit at our table. And I get it.

  573. It's gonna cost you something for those people to sit

  574. at your table. It's gonna cost you some reputation, it's

  575. gonna cost you some side eyes, it's gonna cost you

  576. having to go out of your way. But here's what

  577. I've realized. God sends the people, but you have to

  578. set the table. God will send the people, but we

  579. have to set the table. What do I mean? We

  580. have to set our lives up in a way where

  581. if God wanted to send somebody different than us, we

  582. would actually have the space to share the love of

  583. Jesus with them. Now, I know you can hear a

  584. sermon like this and think the whole thing is an analogy,

  585. and you're like, yes, my life is a table, and

  586. I will invite someone over to your house, bring someone

  587. with you in the seat next to you at church.

  588. Some of us get so ethereal with the Bible stuff

  589. that ain't ethereal. Literally, I'm like, I embarrassed my neighbors

  590. and brought them up on stage, and I'm so sorry

  591. I did that. I love you very much, but legit,

  592. there was a point. Abby is like captain of the neighborhood.

  593. She'd be out there, they'd be having all types of

  594. soare's and pizza parties, and I just be inside, you know,

  595. seeking God, of course, But I no, it's honestly just

  596. because I get overwhelmed with all the people. I'm like,

  597. oh gosh, I don't know, but I literally got convicted.

  598. And God was like, when you're gonna start loving your

  599. real neighbors. Some of us get so Christian, so saved

  600. that we can't do.

  601. The normal stuff like love your neighbor.

  602. You're like, yes, we're just like the people in scripture.

  603. Who is my neighbor?

  604. Technically, let's start with the people on your left and

  605. you're right and across the street, and then just see

  606. where it happens from there. Think of how many interactions

  607. you have every day with people who could be at

  608. your table, the person that waits on you at the restaurant.

  609. Some of us, I gotta say this, some of us

  610. have Oh jez, let me come damn.

  611. Okay, we treat people who waiting on us like they're

  612. not humans. You look straight through them, You drink a

  613. little drink in two seconds, and you start shaking the

  614. glass like some kind of I don't know who you.

  615. Think you are. This is a person.

  616. We can learn their name, We can say hi to them,

  617. we can say thank you. We can leave them a

  618. tip and not be stingy. And if you ain't gonna

  619. leave a tip, don't bust out that in by card.

  620. Keep that thinky thing to yourself. Come on, now, we

  621. want to talk about I'm gonna go on a mission strip.

  622. Why don't you go be nice to.

  623. The person at burger king and then see what God

  624. will do through your life. This is real, Like we

  625. can actually live this out in daily life. When you

  626. go get gassed and you walk up to the person

  627. to pay for your own little three dollars a gas,

  628. come on, you get paid tomorrow, so you just need

  629. enough to get on. Hey, how's your day going?

  630. All's going?

  631. This happens every single time. I promise you you ask

  632. them the first question, they will either look up surprised

  633. because you're the first person to.

  634. A knowledge them that day. Hey how you doing?

  635. Sam? What he'd be thinking?

  636. I'm prophetic.

  637. I just read his name tag.

  638. That's all I did. I just read the name tag. Hey,

  639. how you doing? Sam? Do you know me? No? Man,

  640. it's just said your.

  641. Name is on your shirt? Brother? How's your day going?

  642. I always ask the same question. You just starting know

  643. you're about to get off. Just oh I'm about to

  644. get off, fool Jesus.

  645. What you gonna do today?

  646. Man?

  647. I'm gonna go home and sleep. Man, I feel you

  648. on that brother. What you doing tomorrow?

  649. Oh?

  650. Man, I'm not doing nothing tomorrow.

  651. You know what you should do. There is this party

  652. that I go to every single Sunday, and I happened

  653. to be speaking at the party tomorrow.

  654. You want to come hang out at the party. What

  655. you mean a party?

  656. Well, I mean it's kind of like a church, you know,

  657. but it's like, just give it a chance. This week,

  658. we walked into the to the store. I was looking

  659. for this specific shirt and I walked in and I'm

  660. just going through and I really had to stop myself

  661. because I get on the mission trying to find something.

  662. I knew exactly what I was looking for, so I

  663. walked in there like you need to help. I'm like no,

  664. I'm gonna thank you. And I just walked straight to

  665. the back and I started talking to God. He's like, oh,

  666. you're that You're that guy And I was like, yes,

  667. that guy.

  668. He was like, you're the Transformation church. Will Michael tell

  669. Yeah yeah? And he was like, man, I used to go.

  670. There a long time ago, but I don't really I

  671. don't really do that church thing anymore. I was like, oh, man,

  672. well I used totally come back.

  673. I'd love to see you sometime.

  674. There are so many interactions like that on a daily basis,

  675. where the table of your life people are waiting, waiting

  676. for an invitation. What was the most awkward moment in

  677. middle school when you walked into the lunch room. Come on,

  678. some of y'all will take you back to your first rejection.

  679. You come on, like you walk into the lunch room,

  680. you got your nasty square pizza and chocolate milk, and

  681. you do one of these. I know now y'all get sushi,

  682. but we used to get square pizza on Wednesdays.

  683. Or maybe somebody's mama brought chick.

  684. Filt, but it was the awkward moment waiting to be

  685. invited to a table. Could I submit to you that

  686. there is a world right in front of us every

  687. single day, standing here waiting for someone to invite them

  688. to the table. God sends the people, but we set

  689. the table. I'm going to close out by giving us

  690. three points on how can we set the table? If

  691. our life is a table to invite those two people.

  692. Who believe, who don't believe.

  693. People who we agree with who we disagree with, we

  694. can live our life in a way that is a

  695. living in invitation to the table, a living invitation. Everywhere

  696. I go is an opportunity to invite someone to the table.

  697. Every person I meet is an opportunity to introduce them

  698. to the Jesus that has changed my life. How do

  699. you set the table? The first thing?

  700. Write this down? One you gotta prepare.

  701. Come on, if you've ever had people over to your house,

  702. depending on your personality, you will start preparing pretty early on.

  703. Now some of y'all you don't prepare, and then you

  704. be trying to door dash everything and it's too late.

  705. But in our house we having people over abby immediately.

  706. How many people are gonna have Let me think, make

  707. sure the plates, Let's make sure we got everything.

  708. Who's bringing this, who bringing that?

  709. And if you are going to live a life that

  710. is a invitation, what am I talking about?

  711. Practically?

  712. A life that is open to talking, to encouraging people,

  713. to inviting people to church, to being a small light

  714. in the darkness of your office. Everybody's negatives.

  715. You want to know how you invite people to the table.

  716. You're the one persons, Hey man, at least we got

  717. a job.

  718. Come on. You don't remember when we was going through.

  719. COVID and they was doing the layoffs and we went

  720. work from home and it was about to be permanent

  721. from home, and then they brought us back.

  722. Thank you Jesus, we got a job. Small moments inviting

  723. to the table.

  724. Hey, I know there's a lot of crazy stuff going on,

  725. but you know what the Bible actually says about Jesus.

  726. It says he is new mercy every single day. So

  727. I know yesterday it was horrible, but guess what. Today's

  728. a fresh start. You meet somebody at the restaurant.

  729. Man, I pray you.

  730. Have an amazing day. I pray this is the best

  731. day you ever have. Little moments, but to do that,

  732. you have to prepare. And this is so beautiful because

  733. there are so many opportunities for us to prepare. You

  734. may be somebody who you start to realize that maybe

  735. you're single right now, but you're starting to read books

  736. about being married. Why, Because you're preparing for someone you

  737. want at your table. Don't ask for nothing you're not

  738. willing to prepare for. I'm gonna say that again. Do

  739. not ask for anything you're not willing to prepare for.

  740. I want somebody at my table with integrity and who's

  741. gonna be faithful and gonna be honest. So I'm gonna

  742. start preparing to be faithful, to be integrists, and be

  743. honest because that's who I want at my table. Why

  744. are you studying other world religions. What you do in

  745. reading the Koran? Well, I know there's millions of people

  746. who believe other stuff, and I don't want to just

  747. be ignorant and yell that ain't the way. That ain't

  748. the way. I want to be able to hear what

  749. they have to say and say yeah.

  750. Yea, yeah, almost there.

  751. Let me show you the living word, let me show

  752. you Jesus. So yeah, I'm doing some work right now

  753. because I'm setting my table for who God is going

  754. to send some of us.

  755. And this is this is There will be so many times.

  756. Whether there will be thoughts or critiques of like man,

  757. some churches just trying to be colchry relevant and trying

  758. to be cool. No, you know what partly I'm doing

  759. Half the time i'm preparing my table, I realize is

  760. this is the narrative you're getting, This is what you're

  761. being fed.

  762. And I have a real solution.

  763. So I'm aware of what's going in culture. Not because

  764. I'm trying to be cool. I'm a grown man with

  765. four kids. I ain't got no time trying to be cool.

  766. But what I do want to do is set my

  767. table so if God sends someone in my world that

  768. is confused and hurting, and all they've heard is that

  769. you can just change whatever you don't have to. They

  770. don't hear that. If they can hear the good news,

  771. there's a God who loves you just as you are.

  772. And yes, I understand what you've gone through, and yes

  773. I understand you have some real questions. But my life.

  774. There's a place where there's always a seat.

  775. For someone new at my table. Got to prepare the

  776. next ding. Number two is you got to be present.

  777. Some of us spend so much time being ready and

  778. prepping for who might be at your table one day

  779. that we ignore who's at your table today. On again,

  780. God's gonna send me out and I wanna be a

  781. missionary to the industries.

  782. It's like, well, Stark's industries, what are you talking about.

  783. We don't know.

  784. Yet. Your cousin is that your table every Sunday? Yeah, yeah, yeah,

  785. but you know they're just kind of crazy. But in God,

  786. one day, it's gonna use my life. But your grandmother

  787. is at your table right now. And we spend so

  788. much time preparing for the other people that we're not

  789. present with who God has put at your table now

  790. right now.

  791. There are people at your job.

  792. Yes you want a promotion, and yes you want to

  793. change jobs, but right now, there are people in your

  794. cubicle that need peace. They need to know that life

  795. is not dictated on just getting promotions, that you can

  796. have a peace even if you work the same job

  797. for forty years straight and they never see your gifting.

  798. But we're so worried about well, you know, I'm gonna

  799. be a minister to the CEO. Okay, yes, And who's

  800. right in front of you? Who can you encourage today?

  801. Who can you be kind to right here, right now?

  802. I don't need another moment. I don't need to look

  803. for anything else. I don't And I want to say

  804. this because sometimes even in church world and culture, we

  805. be getting prophetic words and encouragements about what God's a

  806. gonna do and where He's gonna take you. And that's amazing.

  807. But also God is gonna take care of that. He's

  808. gonna make sure that happens. Your responsibility is to be

  809. faithful where you are right now, setting the table of

  810. your life, being present with who God has put in

  811. front of you. You gotta you gotta prepare, you gotta

  812. be present.

  813. The last one is.

  814. You gotta pray, and this is a specific prayer. God,

  815. would you open my eyes to see who you're sending

  816. to my table? God, opened my eyes to see who

  817. you're sending into my life on purpose?

  818. Who I literally I.

  819. Have so many random stories and I won't use people's

  820. name because in this room, and I want to embrass you.

  821. I was in an airport one time. I'm walk getting

  822. off the airport. I'm sitting on the airport next to

  823. mister Scott and Misus Scott's right over here and I'm

  824. sitting there and there's someone sitting next to him, and

  825. the Holy Spirit is like, you need to talk to

  826. that guy. And I'm like, absolutely not, that would be weird.

  827. I might keep going on the plane. Then, God, the

  828. whole time you need talk to you need talking, you talking,

  829. you talk. I'm like no, no, no no, And I said, Okay,

  830. if he's behind me when I got off the plane,

  831. I'll do it. And I'm just making up nonsensical deals

  832. with God. I get off the plane, I turn around.

  833. It's Missus Scott. I'm like what we Sorry?

  834. God, So I just keep going. I'm like just completely disobedient.

  835. You're suppos talking, like no, not do it that would

  836. be weird. I'm my head down. I look up.

  837. He's standing right here and I'm like, well, okay, that's

  838. he's looking out the window, got headphones on. He's like

  839. super cool high school kid. He got headphones on. He's

  840. staring out the window. And I'm at this point have

  841. been so disobedient that now I have to awkwardly be

  842. obedient to God. So I walk up to him. I

  843. tap him on the shoulder. I'm like, hey, this is

  844. super weird, but I saw you on the plane. And

  845. then I'm like, wait, what is happening. This is weird.

  846. I'm like, it's not.

  847. Weird, Like God told me to talk to you, and.

  848. He's the whole time. He's just like okay, like this

  849. is real life. What happened?

  850. And I'm like, you think maybe like I could get

  851. your Instagram?

  852. Like I'm like, what is happening. I don't know.

  853. I'm panicking. I literally get his Instagram and I just

  854. said it, Hey, I was, I was on the plane.

  855. I feel like God wanted to encourage you. He's proud

  856. of you. Hey, listen, no matter what decision you happen

  857. front of blahlah blah blah. I send in the text

  858. message beautiful thing. He's at church right now to this day,

  859. from that plane ride.

  860. That happens to all of.

  861. Us every single day. You're in the grocery store and

  862. God's like, Hey, why don't you just encourage them?

  863. God, I can encourage them. That's weird. You're already weird.

  864. Let's just be honest, like.

  865. We're so worried about being perceived as weird that we

  866. rob ourselves of the opportunity to be an answer to

  867. someone's prayer. How God opened my eyes to see who's

  868. at my table? I said that this is our real

  869. life kitchen table, and I'm gonna actually.

  870. Invite Where are the kiddos?

  871. Here are they here?

  872. They're coming?

  873. All right, Rosie come up here with me. Everybody give

  874. it for Rosie. It's my wife, Abbie Rose. You're so beautiful,

  875. the coolest person I know, and you're an amazing painter.

  876. You're welcome. This is our real life table. We can

  877. come sit down at the table. What are we doing?

  878. We talked about this in the run through Babe, come

  879. on now, but we started off at the time I

  880. hear crying. I know my kids are coming up quarter due.

  881. You can go grab me.

  882. Yeah, sure, I'll just stand here by myself in freestyle.

  883. But no, I want you to have a picture of

  884. what real life looks like. And here's where we'll close

  885. this out. Sometimes we think that inviting people to the table,

  886. or these moments with God, or the moment where God's

  887. gonna do this amazing thing through your life is supposed

  888. to be this grand, huge moment.

  889. And I want to encourage you.

  890. It happens in the natural flow of everyday life, everyday life.

  891. My goal and hope is that you would hear this sermon.

  892. You would walk out of here, and when you get

  893. in your car and you're deciding where you're gonna go eat,

  894. you would immediately be thinking, God, who are you gonna

  895. send to my table today?

  896. God, I can't wait.

  897. Imagine what your life would be like if on your

  898. way everywhere, your expectation, your thought, your question was God,

  899. Oh my goodness, who am I about to see today?

  900. Are on my beautiful babies?

  901. Come over here, chickens come up, run, run, run run run.

  902. Now y'all sit down, get in your seats. Okay, where

  903. y'all gonna sit?

  904. Okay, see boom, what I tell you?

  905. What did I tell you?

  906. Look at y'all being kind.

  907. Okay, with the kindness, this is Blue that we gotta

  908. get her some puffs, come on, because she will ruin

  909. the whole sermon. Hey, Bluie, these are our real life kids.

  910. So this is our low Phoenix. He is five years old.

  911. You wanna say hi? Hi? This is Luna Rose Metcalf,

  912. the Champion.

  913. Do you want to say hi?

  914. This is Jade October Metcalf.

  915. Do you want to say hi?

  916. Okay, you want to say hi? Okay, say hello.

  917. She wants to eat the microphone.

  918. But every single day, our family sits at this table,

  919. and amongst all the conversation, amongst handing out puffs, Blue

  920. about to jump out of her seat. Every single God

  921. sends my grandfather, our grandfather, Poppy, who sits right in

  922. this seat. And every single Friday there's an opportunity where

  923. our family sits around the table and I get to

  924. hear a man talk about following Jesus, who has followed

  925. him for fifty plus years, whose wife just went to

  926. be with Jesus after forty plus years of marriage.

  927. And it's not just a random moment.

  928. It's a beautiful moment where God has intentionally.

  929. Sent someone to my table. Why is it powerful?

  930. Because I didn't grow up with my grandfathers in my life,

  931. I didn't, But every single Friday, if I have the

  932. eyes to see it, God says, even though you didn't

  933. grow up with your grandfather, in this season of your life,

  934. every single week, you get time with your grandfather to

  935. be encouraged, to pray over you, to encourage you. Real life,

  936. other people that sit at.

  937. This table, our friends bring a.

  938. Walk through one of the most crazy things and situations

  939. and are carrying like amazing.

  940. Followers of Jesus.

  941. But when they were talking about trying to have a baby,

  942. it was this table.

  943. God sent them into our life.

  944. To talk, to have discussion, to go back and forth

  945. when it wasn't going well, when it wasn't working out,

  946. when they found out they got pregnant, when they found out.

  947. There was an issue. All happened at this table in

  948. real life.

  949. One of the most beautiful surprises that I did not expect.

  950. God sent three rowdy kids named Ava, Charlie and Romey

  951. into my life to sit at this table. What am

  952. I saying amongst regular life? If you would create the space,

  953. you would be surprised at how diverse, how different and

  954. how beautiful life could be if you invited people to

  955. your table.

  956. Now listen, thanks for clapping, guys. I appreciate that.

  957. The reason I bought my kids up here is because

  958. I don't want to be the only Metcalf that lives

  959. my life inviting people to the table. I want to

  960. raise a family that says, you know what the Metcalfs

  961. are about. We always leave space for people. We always

  962. believe the best in people. When everybody else runs away,

  963. we run toward people.

  964. This happened the other day, didn't Arlo. We were watching

  965. Luca yesterday, weren't.

  966. We And that part in the movie where Luca falls

  967. down and his friend runs after him. Do you remember

  968. what I was saying to you? Do you remember what

  969. I said, there's a lot of pressure. I didn't talk

  970. about it. Yeah, he said, I forgot.

  971. I talked to him.

  972. I said, hey, buddy, you see how he fell down

  973. and everybody left him.

  974. Metcalfs are people.

  975. When people fall down, we run to him. I'm trying.

  976. I'm trying to build a life that there's always space

  977. for people at my table. And even though my family

  978. only fills one side of the table, we live our

  979. life with six other open seats, planning, preparing for God

  980. to send someone into our life that needs what we have.

  981. And I would submit and ask everyone in.

  982. Here, amongst your regular life, with your kids, with your family,

  983. with yourself, wherever you may be, is there space at

  984. your table?

  985. Kids? I love you, thank you very much. Can you

  986. give up for my babies?

  987. You can exit the stage now.

  988. I might ask everybody to stand up. If you would,

  989. we're gonna get out of here.

  990. Leave the puff spabe. Don't even worry about it. Okay, Hi,

  991. you gotta call that way. We're gonna close this service

  992. out a specific way.

  993. I might ask everybody, if it's not an emergence, if

  994. you could stay.

  995. We're about to get to one of the most important

  996. parts of the service.

  997. The first thing I'm gonna do is.

  998. I'm going to pray for people who want to make

  999. space at your table. You realize that you've maybe been

1000. living a small life. You've been living a life where

1001. you don't have many friends who are different than you.

1002. Maybe you don't have much space.

1003. For people that are I think different, act different, look different.

1004. But you want to live a bigger life, and you

1005. want to live a life that sets the table that

1006. invites people that sees meeting someone new as an opportunity

1007. and not intimidating. I want to first pray for that

1008. group of people. If you say you know what, God,

1009. I want eyes to see who you're sending it at

1010. my table. I want to see what you're doing, and

1011. I want to be a part of it. I'm asking

1012. everybody to about your heads and close your eyes. If

1013. you're in this room and you're saying you know what,

1014. I want to leave here today and live differently.

1015. I want to be a living invitation.

1016. I don't want to live a life where people are

1017. not welcome at my table. I'm going to ask you

1018. to raise your hand if you want to pray that

1019. prayer you say, I want to live a bigger life.

1020. I want to live an open life. I want people

1021. to be invited to my table.

  1022. Holy Spirit, you.

1023. See every hand lifted, You see every hand lifted, You

1024. see every heart that is open. And God, we are

1025. coming to you today asking that you would give us

1026. eyes to see who are you sending to our table.

1027. Who have you placed in front of us that we

1028. can love. Who have you placed in front of us

1029. that we can encourage? Who have you put around us,

1030. family members and coworkers. Lord, God, we don't want to

1031. walk through this world only living for ourself, but we

1032. want to see people or God and show them You.

  1033. So God, give us.

1034. The spirit and the strength to prepare, give us the

  1035. contentment to be present.

1036. And God, open our eyes to see who You're sending

1037. to our table, every head bow and every eye closed.

1038. There's a second group of people I want to pray for.

1039. And these are people that have felt like you weren't

1040. welcome at the table. These are people that maybe like

1041. the people that Peter was talking to, there were certain

1042. people that kept you out of the church, that felt

1043. like you had to work up to get to God.

1044. There are people in this room that you have to

1045. realize that the Bible said Jesus is actually preparing a

  1046. table for you.

  1047. The scripture says in.

1048. Psalms twenty three, he prepares a table in the presence

1049. of my enemy. Can I tell you the gospel and

1050. the good news of Jesus is it doesn't matter what

1051. you've done, it doesn't matter how broken you are. But

1052. Jesus is the first person to say, there's a place

1053. at my table. And if you are in this room,

1054. and you are not following Jesus. He is not the

1055. head of your life. There is a spot for you

1056. at this table. Do not believe the lies. You don't

1057. have to do a bunch of things to earn it.

1058. You don't have to act like you're okay. You can

1059. come broken, you can come hurting, you can come with questions.

1060. But Jesus today says there is space for you at

1061. this table. If you're in this room and you want

1062. to accept Jesus as your Lord and savior, you want

1063. to give your life to him, I'm gonna count the three.

1064. I'm gonna ask you to raise your hand. When you

1065. raise your hand, I believe it's gonna solidify on the

1066. outside what God is already doing on the inside.

1067. I'm gonna count the three.

1068. If you want to accept Jesus as your savior, I

1069. want you to raise your hand the count of three. One.

  1070. He loves you too.

1071. This is the best decision you could ever make. Three,

1072. lift your hand all over this room. You want to

1073. accept Jesus as your Lord and savior. I see you

1074. right down here, I got you right up there. I

1075. see you so proud of you. I see your ma'am.

1076. I got you right there. Brother's so proud of you,

1077. so proud of you. Welcome to the table. Hey, listen,

1078. as a church family, can we pray out loud together?

1079. Would everybody pray with me?

1080. Everybody say, Dear Heavenly Father, I love you, Dear Jesus,

1081. I admit I'm a sinner, Save me, change me, transform me,

1082. make me new. Thank you for having a place for

1083. me at the table. In Jesus name, I pray. And

1084. everybody said, amen. Can we celebrate those?

  1085. Oh? Come on.

1086. Now listen, hey, we're in about the moment. We're gonna

1087. take a moment to pray over all of our students,

1088. over all of our students.

1089. But before we do that, if you're in this room, you.

1090. Just accepted Jesus, I want you to raise your hand

1091. back up again. We want to make sure you leave

1092. here with a Bible. So if you gave your life

1093. to Jesus, you raise your hand the first time. Come on,

1094. some of y'all jumping in on the second time because

1095. you want the free Bible. Calm down. If you gave

1096. your life to Jesus, raise it high, and our team

  1097. is gonna.

1098. Confind you to give you a Bible.

1099. We are so proud of you for making that decision.

1100. Can we give it up for everybody who made the

1101. decision to follow Jesus. You see somebody around you that

1102. raise their hand, make sure you give them a hug. Hey, listen,

1103. we're gonna do this to close out service. We have

1104. a lot of people who are starting back up school.

1105. A lot of people have already started school, but we

1106. thought before people are moving off to college, before you

1107. get into the throes of classes and courses, We're gonna

1108. take a moment to pray over all the students in

1109. all of our teachers. So if you are a student

1110. or a teacher, I want you to come down to

1111. the front right now, a student or a teacher. Student

1112. or a teacher, come down, make your way down front,

1113. come out of the aisle. If you do not have

1114. to leave, I would ask that you would stay to

  1115. help pray over.

1116. These students, over these teachers. There's a lot of people.

1117. Come on, y'all gonna squeeze in, get in close all

  1118. of our students.

1119. And our teachers. Come on, scoot in.

1120. We got a lot of people who are making their

  1121. way down.

1122. Scooty and close, scooty and close, scoot in.

1123. Close. Come on, y'all, close as in closer than.

1124. Where you are right now.

1125. So just wherever you are right now, come closer than

1126. that because everybody's coming up. Come on, keep making room,

1127. y'all can come make room around here. You have come

1128. on us, and we're gonna get everybody up here. Students

1129. and teachers, make space. There's room over here, y'all.

  1130. Scoot around.

1131. And listen as you come forward. I want you to

1132. know these aren't just worries. I'm gonna believe and prophesy

  1133. this over you.

1134. One. The heaviness and the weight.

1135. That you have already felt before entering this new season

1136. is not your portion. The heaviness, the weight, the overwhelmedness.

1137. That is not what God has for you. And it

  1138. does not have to.

1139. Be how this year goes. Some of you you have

  1140. already school is.

1141. Maybe it's been the first couple of weeks of school

1142. and you felt like, man, it was a fresh start.

1143. I want to this is gonna be a different year,

1144. and a couple of days in you feel like it's

1145. the same old story. I promise you that is not

1146. the end. That is not what this will be. I

1147. believe right now that this year is going to be

1148. something different. There's gonna be something new on the inside

1149. of you, and I am believing that one the heaviness

1150. will not be your burden. The second thing I want

1151. to believe and I want to speak over you, is

1152. that where past years have been fuzzy teachers, where it's

1153. been unclear how you're supposed to teach these kids and

1154. you have those students you seem you can't get through to.

1155. Past year is where it's been fuzzy students, where it's

1156. been unclear which friend circle to be in, where it's

1157. been unclear on who you're supposed to be and how

1158. you're supposed to This year will be the clearest year

1159. you have had, the clearest year. And the last thing

1160. I want to speak over you is that this will

1161. be the most confident year. Confidence not in something superficial,

1162. but confidence in what God put on the inside of you.

1163. Confident that you can hear His voice. I want to

1164. speak that over you. Some of you, students and teachers,

1165. you've went back and forth. Do I really hear God?

  1166. Is that hymn?

  1167. How do I know?

  1168. It wasn't just me?

1169. No, The Bible says, my sheep know my voice and

1170. a stranger. They will not listen to you know the

1171. voice of God. He speaks to you, and this year

1172. you are going to be surprised and shocked.

1173. God's gonna give you wisdom.

1174. He's gonna tell you to pray for people some of you.

1175. There's gonna be gifts that start to rise up.

  1176. Teachers.

1177. God's gonna have you prophesying over the those students. Come on,

1178. you're gonna be speaking life when they get death at home.

1179. You're gonna be the one place that calls out the

1180. Greatness on the air. No, you're not that person. And yeah,

1181. you got in trouble, but God has a call.

  1182. On your life.

1183. So I'm gonna pray that over you specifically. And there

1184. is everyone watching online. You are just as much a

1185. part of this. We're gonna begin to pray over people.

1186. I'ma ask everybody in this room, We're not gonna play

1187. with this prayer. I'm serious, we are not gonna play

1188. with this prayer. Our team even went through and started

1189. getting teachers and schools from TC nation around the world.

1190. If you're in this room, I want you to begin

1191. to call out teachers and students and names that you see.

  1192. We are about to.

1193. Go to God and go before Heaven on behalf of

1194. every student and every teacher, that the heaviness would be

1195. broken off of them in the name of Jesus, that

1196. the spirit of joy would have erupted on the inside

1197. of them. That there would be clarity where the enemies

1198. trying to confuse who they were, try to confuse his voice, there.

1199. Would be clarity. And we are praying for confidence.

1200. So I'm gonna ask everybody in this room, everyone watching online,

1201. would you begin to pray with me right now, Dear

1202. Heavenly Father, Right now we come before you, and I

1203. am praying over every single student, first of all, Lord God,

1204. that first of all, Lord Jesus, you would bring some

1205. confidence on the inside of them. Lord God, I speak

1206. against heaviness right now in the name of Jesus. Heaviness

1207. be gone. In the name of Jesus. The weight of

1208. your past decisions gone, the weight of who want people

1209. want you to be gone, The weight of misstep or

  1210. mistakes gone.

1211. In the name of Jais.

1212. Old pressures and negative self talk that you have put

1213. over yourself gone. In the name of Jesus. Now we

1214. cast off every weight and sin that has entangled us.

1215. I thank you, Lord God. You would strengthen their weak needs.

1216. Lord God, they would get a fresh outlook on life

1217. where life has been dark and closed off. Would you

1218. open up their eyes to a new day. It's a

1219. new day in the name of Jesus, a new spirit.

1220. In the name of Jesus God, I thank you. And

1221. right now, God, we pray for clarity. Clarity, Clarity for

1222. every student, Clarity for every teacher. Lord God, I thank

1223. you for clarity on which decisions to make and not

1224. to make. Come on, I'm praying for clarity that God

1225. would speak to you clearly, don't go to that party.

1226. Nope, you're not going to that event. Yeah.

1227. I know everybody's at the football game. You're staying home. Hey,

1228. I know you wanted to stay home, but you need

1229. to go to that event. God, Clarity in the name

1230. of Jesus. Clarity for every teacher.

  1231. Yep.

1232. Today you just gonna talk to the students. I know

1233. you had a whole lesson planned, but you're gonna ask

1234. them what do they need, and you're gonna start to

1235. pray over these students. Clarity for every teacher.

1236. Clarity. There are some of you in this room. You're

1237. supposed to be a teacher, and you've been praying about it.

1238. God says you are called and you have something for

1239. this next generation. Clarity in the name of Jesus, got

1240. it right now. I thank you for a God given confidence,

1241. a God given it confidence, confidence for every teacher. I

1242. speak to every teacher, Lord God, that they are called

1243. by you. You may feel unqualified, feel overwhelmed by the

1244. amount of students or the responsibility you've been given. God

1245. has chosen you, God placed you in their life, and

1246. he has given you wisdom and everything you need for that.

1247. I pray for confidence. I pray confidence over every student

1248. that they would walk knowing that they are chosen by God,

1249. that they wouldn't second guests or settle. You will not settle.

1250. I feel that so strong. You will not settle for

1251. something beneath you. You will not settle for friendships that

1252. are beneath you, for standards that are beneath you. But God,

1253. I pray a new strength, a new strength in the

1329. joy of the Lord is my strength. I walk with

1330. purpose and power in every step. God is gonna use

1331. me to make a difference.
