What is gospel music?

Do this house up to the lamb of love.

It's more than just a sound. It's more than a genre.

It's more than just a group of people worshiping passionately.

It's more than a culture. It is the sound of

the Good News. See. I think the definition is found

in those two words. Music that spreads the love, transformative power,

dimption and change that comes when you know Jesus Christ. See.

Gospel music is Kingdom music and we've been called to represent.

It.

Was January nineteenth, two thousand and twenty two, and I

found myself on the balcony of a hotel overlooking a vineyard.

I was honestly hurting in a way that I never

knew was possible. I was confused, I felt misunderstood. I

was honestly in a place where I felt like maybe

God was trying to do something that I didn't understand.

I preached the message the Sunday before that got a

little it went a little viral, and all I was

trying to do is show people how God would take

our mess and actually use it for a miracle. But

that moment for me turned into a mess, and all

I could do in that moment was do what I've

always done. When I found myself in a valley I

worshiped a few months before I had come to the

studio and we were supposed to be working on something different.

In the Holy Spirit dropped this like Field Collins, like

double chorus, reverba da da da, And I was driving

to fifteen nineteen and I just heard this huge like

chorus and came in the studio and I was talking

to Evan and I was like, Hey, let's just scratch

what we were supposed to do.

I feel this thing.

And we wrote this song called Available, and when I

was on that balcony, I played the song probably a

thousand times. I didn't listen to anything else. It was

the demo version of this song, and it literally kept

me because the first lines of the song say, even

before the beginning, you were Alpha and Omega, And when

we wrote those words, I was like, I didn't have

a real revelation until I went through fire and then

the second verse it says, even when the fire surrounds me,

you were my protection. Even when death tries to hold me,

You're the resurrection. I mean the words of the song.

I got goosebump saying it right now. It literally kept

me and the grace of God that he would give

me those words that melody for the Valley.

I can literally remember sitting and looking over this vineyard

that had no fruit on it, and every morning at

six am, there would be a group of guys that

came out as I was out there worshiping, and they

had their shears and they were clipping on what looked

like just branches.

And in that.

Moment, I remembered the word that God I'd spoken John,

where it tells us that He is the vine and

we are the branches. And it goes on to say

that he prunes those that he loves because they're going

to produce more fruit. My first time ever in a

vineyard no fruit around, they're cutting on it, and God

spoke to me. He said, Michael, this is what I'm

doing to you. I'm pruning you because I want more fruit.

And it didn't seem fair and it didn't seem right

and I didn't feel like I deserved it. But this

is what I remember. That his ways are not my ways,

and his thoughts are higher than my thoughts, and I

had to trust him. And I know there's some people

right now that have been treated unfairly. Things didn't go

your way. It feels like, why is this happening to me.

I'm coming here two years removed from the darkest, deepest moment,

the vacancy to tell you that God is looking.

For you to be available to him.

Available doesn't mean that it always feels good. It means

that it will always work out for your good. And

I remember being in the shower and riding on the

shower wall one Peer four twelve through fourteen, and it

simply said, dear friends, do not be surprised at the

fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you

as though something strange were happening to you, But rejoice

inas much as you participate in the sufferings of Christ,

so that you may be overjoyed when His glory is revealed.

If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you.

Are blessed, for the spirit of glory and of God

rest on you.

If God asks, will you be available?

Even before the beginning, you were alphand of Mega.

The crazy thing about the song you just heard that

Kingdom Come is that song was written by me and

PC on the way to meet with Pastor Tim Ross

in Dallas, Texas. We regularly go and just submit ourselves,

tell him what's going on, as he's our oversight pastor.

And I knew that we were going to be talking

about the Kingdom of God. That was gonna be the

word of the year. We decided we weren't gonna be

king dumb d u m B. We were gonna understand

the Kingdom d o m have domain. And I said,

I need to go down to Texas and talk through

the theology and the concept. And we were reading Milesman

Rode books and watching videos and God dropped this song

in my heart, I think, Scott and when kaya were

with us and I was in the front seat, and

I started humming this melody and originally started out at

six eight. And then I went to the bathroom while

Tim was ordering eggs and Charles was probably ordering some

like wheat toasts with avocado, and the Holy Spirit helped

me finish this song in the bathroom and I remember

do come, and I remember that and it was just

so crazy. And I tell that story because I want

you to know that that when God drops something in

your heart or in your lap, it is your responsibility

to capture it. See a lot of times when God

is doing something, we are fumbling moments, ideas, thoughts, and

even the breakthrough that we need for our future, it

comes by capturing. You can ask my wife. Every night

I sleep with my phone right there. We'll record ready

because there's melodies and songs. And I want to encourage you,

like as God is going to I really believe, start

dropping ideas and dropping thoughts, and dropping books and dropping

sermons and dropping cures into your lap. I want you

to become a receiver. Yeah, like a football receiver. I

want you to be ready to catch anything because you

never know when God will give you the opportunity to

bring something that is in Heaven down here on earth.

That's what the Kingdom is about. As it is in heaven,

let it come down here on earth. But it's going

to come through Somebody say me, Ah, come on, I said,

somebody say it's gonna come through me. And if we

do not stew it over the opportunities that God gives us,

we don't get to see the fruit of what will

bless so many other people. And that's why when it

comes to this music thing at Transformation Church, transformation worship.

We just let it flow, kind of like when we

were in the studio one day and I told the guys,

I was like, what if we did a worship song

with nothing but eight o eights?

And they looked at me and I was like, I.

about the Holy Spirit? And I'm just saying these things

And it's as as I begin to speak, it just

because it is the essence of representing. It's called Eagle,

and that song talks about inviting the Holy Spirit in

it literally is a song that I believe can cross cultures,

transform atmospheres. Why because you're saying, Holy Spirit, come down, Lord,

we need you right now. There is no substitute. All

we really need is you. We're in His presence, mounting

up on wings like a yeah ego let's.

for transformation worship is there's no limit. Like we can

do afrobeat, we can do c CM, we can do

old Gospel, and we can do like just fun songs.

And I told the team, I was like, we need

to do something top down summer vibe like barbecue. You

can play this people start doing the electric slide, but

we need to talk about how high God is. And

I was in the studio with my cousin Willie Jones

and Evan and we started you the mos you the most, Hai,

the most and we just kept doing that and it

was like a vibe and I was like, it needs

but sometimes, if we've been actually being honest, how many

probably the third person that jumped on the challenge was

tied Demitrious Tribute.

And it was just a vibe. And that day it

really blessed me. I've listened to Tie tribute for over

almost twenty years. Inspired me to one of my musical

heroes can preach the house down. He's been here at

our conference and literally wrecked the house and God has

made us just connect. And to see him acknowledge our

music really did something to me. And I was like, Man,

wouldn't it be cool if we could redo the song

and Tie would actually be on the song.

We served the most High.

I was at the Stellar Awards. Todd Tribbett won like

seventeen Stellar Awards this year, was honored because his albums

and his longevity has been amazing. And then he came

to my room with the makeshift studio that we made

and I told him I wanted to do Most High

since my mama, and that just give me anxiety. And

they drank something for they came in here and they

were with somebody doing something last night that they weren't

supposed to be doing.

And what I just did is I offended.

Religious people because they want church to be a club

for the people who do good. But the Bible tells

us all of sin and falling short of the glory

of God. So I just want to welcome everybody, and

if this is your first time, I want you to

do something real quick. I want you to pull out

to get a little information from you, and we want.

And I believe that with less than almost one hundred

And my soul is rested. Now. People don't understand what

that means.

But like my mind, will and emotions have been allowing

God to change and transform me and some of the

off of sabbatical. Relationship goals was right off of sabbatical.

Crazy faith was right off of sabbatical damage but not destroyed. Right.

God gave me this revelations, y'all.

I got a new sermon series for y'all. I'm not

gonna reveal what it is yet, but everybody here got

online because you can't be here physically because you're somewhere else.

I need you to be tuned in in God to

gather people because the next three months is going to

change our next three years.

The only ones that got I received God, don't I said,

the next three months of revelation, wisdom, and obedience, it's

a decision ten years ago that I would teach about

giving and honoring God with our resources, and then I

would put no pressure on people because either they believe

it or they don't. And in a lot of churches,

is is manipulation.

Some of it has been transferred some people that do it.

It's not a wrong heart. But we ask people to

just ask God. God, am I supposed to give something?

And if you ask God. Our culture code here is generosity.

We give just to give and.

Not to get.

There's a byproduct of giving that's in the word that

when you so see he will actually do something. It's

got to have a harvest. But that's not why I'm

doing it. I'm doing it because I love him. I

honor him, and he gave for me first, so that's

why I honor. So some of y'all who are new

are parties like, okay, so how do we give? You

can give with the QR code on the screens. Most

of us give by online and stuff like that. But

there's a bunch of white boxes outside that are very

discreet that literally, if God gives you something, put it

in there and know that Michael's not going to reward you.

Transformation Church is not going to reward you. The God

who sees your sacrifice, who knows your issues, your bills,

your greed, He know everything about me.

He's the one that's gonna reward you.

It's because there are faithful people that don't have to

be pumped, primed and convinced that God is faithful when

it comes to trusting him, not just with our heart,

everybody that's in that moment right now, and then we're

is gonna meet us. Father, Thank you, Thank you that

you are the God that knows all, sees all, and

has all. Today, Hey, God, we're asking you to have

your way as we give sacrificingly many of us. We

know what the economy says, we know what our job

should pay us, we know all of those things. But

Father God, no matter if it's famine or feast, we

will trust you. Thank you, Father for the faith to

believe have your way in this place today, and bless

every person who had the desire to give as well

as the ability to give.

We're on the way to the birthing of you. We're excited, son,

we're going to get to meet you today. We have

just packed up the car and your mom is saying

it's not safe, which it's not. You should never record

and drive, but uh, we're just excited about seeing you. Mom,

how you're feeling, launching your valot and probably like three

to three hours to get to meet you. So we're

super excited. We're just believing God that everything that they

promised when you were drawn, when you were born, that's

gonna happen.

Just documenting the time. October twenty sixth, twenty and fifteen,

my son, my only son, Michael Alexander Todd Junior, born perfect.

It's so crazy to think back on that day when

We started that day with prayer, our doctor, our family around.

We dedicated that boy to God before he was even

on this earth and took his first breath. And throughout

his development, it was just beautiful watching him start to

walk and start to say words. And it was about

when he was a year and a half that Natalie

came to me one day and said, do you notice

that MJ's looking at me less?

And I was like, nah, I mean, you know, it's

all good, and a mama knows. She started to sense

and see him regress.

Where he would have used to look straight at and

use his words and say things, he was staring at

off into space more and not communicating, not connecting, isolating,

And I remember when Nat said, I know something's wrong

with my baby. And we took him to a therapist

and she told us to sit to the side and

she was gonna test MJ. And we watched as he

ignored her as she tried to contact him, connect with him,

and then she told us, Yep, it's definite, he is autistic.

And she began to list all the things that he

would never do. And at that moment my heart broke,

but I think it paled in comparison to watching my

wife's heart to be ripped out.

I never.

Seeing such despair and being a man of crazy faith

and walking and telling people to believe. This would end

up being the test of my life to watch my

son be labeled.

And watch my wife.

Be disabled, and me standing in the middle, trying to

have faith for our family, preaching every Sunday and full

of questions.

It was about two years that went by where we were.

Just stunned, didn't know what to do, didn't really know

how to help, try all kinds of things, but we

needed a miracle. And I remember Ava was just born

and I was sitting at the piano in my makeshift

studio in the dining room of our house, and I

was broken. At a moment we should be celebrating the

life of our brand new baby, I could tell that

there was still.

So much grief in our home. And God said, Michael,

you know me as a healer, you know me as

a waymaker, you know me as.

A miracle worker. But I want to introduce a new

side to you. And as I was sitting at that piano,

God told me, he said, Michael, I'm a sustainer. And

in that moment, It was like something dropped on the

inside of me to know that God won't just see

you through a situation.

He'll sustain you in the situation.

See everybody doesn't get a miracle that happens overnight, or

even a miracle that is like, oh, it's gone. Sometimes

the sufferings of this life, the pain of disappointment.

The grief of losing, stays with you.

And what do you do.

When money doesn't work, when accolades don't do anything, when

a bigger house doesn't make it better, When having more

people around you still leaves you feeling empty. You have

to rely on the only one who is the anchor

through every storm. His name is Jesus. And in that

moment I begin to pen these words. You sustain, You

sustain in the middle of it all, you remain the same.

Through the rain you steal, rain you sustain. And the

part that really got me through is when he said,

your promises always come true, not dependent on me.

Because I was trying to make it happen. I was

trying to be the savior.

But God told me that my promise is always come true,

not dependent on me, but relying on you.

Because your mercies are new every day.

So this is our response. I will trust you since

that moment, that song has sustained me because the God

that I sing the song too is the sustainer. And

I don't care what you're going through right now. I

don't care if you find yourself in the middle of

a storm. I want you to know I am a
