  1. Welcome to Transformation Church Podcast, where we represent God to

  2. the lost and found for transformation in Christ. We're so

  3. glad you're here and wherever you're listening from, we believe

  4. God will transform your life. Do today's message.

  5. Hi, I love y'all. So good to see you, so

  6. grateful to be here with you all, and so honored

  7. to serve today. I'm so grateful for your pastors Michael

  8. and Natalie and the visionaries that they are to this

  9. house and to TC nation literally all over the world.

  10. Thank you all for being a part of this movement,

  11. this church. So happy for pastors Charles and Abby and

  12. anybody else that needs to quit their church. I can help.

  13. You're about to make a decision and you need some

  14. high led your boy, I help you out. I guess.

  15. I'm so excited to be a part of the series.

  16. It could not have come to me at a more

  17. specific time and a more relevant time. We have been

  18. in the series called Receipts right, and Michael has walked

  19. us through all of these attributes that contained the fruit

  20. of the Holy Spirit. There's no s on the end

  21. of it. This is not bananas and grapes and apples

  22. and cherries. It's one fruit that has all of these

  23. different attributes in it. And growing up Pentecostal charismatic, I

  24. saw firsthand people that claimed to have the Holy Ghost

  25. but didn't not bear any of that fruit. And so

  26. I'm so grateful for a pastor that would literally slow

  27. walk us through week by week by week by week

  28. by week, just all the things that the Holy Spirit

  29. living in us produces through us. And it is no

  30. accident that I'm supposed to talk about what I'm supposed

  31. to talk about today, Because child, when I tell you

  32. I've been tested the last six days, I think it

  33. was the Holy Spirit's quality assurance check to make sure,

  34. like I want to make sure you have this receipt

  35. in your pocket. You You know how some people, when

  36. you get a receipt, if you're good with your money

  37. and your taxes and stuff, you keep receipts and you

  38. file them away. I think the Holy Spirit was like, pat,

  39. my pocket is like you need to have this on

  40. you now, and I'm gonna make sure you have it

  41. on you. So I'm my assignment today is gentleness. We

  42. have to talk about this gentleness that the Holy Spirit,

  43. the person of the Holy Spirit, produces in and through us.

  44. I know we've been walking through this for weeks now,

  45. but I want to read Galatians five, twenty two and

  46. twenty three again because I'm a word guy, and yeah,

  47. I just can't get tired of the Bible. But the

  48. Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.

  49. My weak gentleness the hood dude from CALLI whose brother

  50. founded a gang gentleness. Yes, so if you're taking notes,

  51. how many note takers do I have in the room? Yes,

  52. you better be keep your hand up if you will,

  53. because you a nerd. If you take notes, keep your

  54. hand up. Don't be ashamed. But now that your hand

  55. is up, look down your role at who's not raising

  56. their hand because those people will work for you one day.

  57. Because nerds rule the world. I'm so sorry the people

  58. that take the notes, they actually ruled the world. So

  59. two words, write this down. This is a regular degglar

  60. like I don't have no jazzy message. Two words be gentle.

  61. That's the title of this message. Be gentle. Would you

  62. say that with me? Be gentle? Would you do it

  63. at my cadence? Please be gentle one more time? Be

  64. gentle by your hands. Let's pray. Holy Spirit help us

  65. to be gentle. Amen, this is a praying church. If

  66. you need me to go into more intercession, how much?

  67. What are you doing? I'm the one you went over

  68. for Thanksgiving dinner. Because we will eat it while it's hot.

  69. We'll pray for nations later. We're gonna eat this mac

  70. and cheese. Now, I just Mike has done an incredible

  71. job walking us through this series. I just want to

  72. remind you that when it comes to the attributes that

  73. we have been articulating in the last several weeks, when

  74. we're talking about the Holy Spirit's fruit, I need you

  75. to keep in mind that the Holy Spirit does not

  76. care about your personality. If the Holy Spirit's in you,

  77. he is going to make you produce this fruit. He

  78. does not care that you are not a loving person.

  79. He's going to make you love. He does not care

  80. that you're impatient person. He's gonna make you patient. He

  81. does not care if you're not a gentle person. That's

  82. just not me. He's gonna make you him.

  83. You was never meant to be you. He did not

  84. die for you to be you.

  85. Jesus died for you to turn into him. So I

  86. just want to establish the groundwork first. You can't skip

  87. none of these attributes. Patience ain't my weak you know,

  88. that's just not the way I'm wired. Oh you gonna be.

  89. If you're really submitted to the Holy Spirit's work in

  90. your life, you are going to turn into this type

  91. of person. Ask me how I know, because for the

  92. last twenty eight years he has been turning me into

  93. him in ways I never asked for. I never once

  94. came to the altar like Lord, make me a patient person.

  95. He just put me in situations that produce that fruit.

  96. I call it the tea bag test. You never gonna

  97. know what you gotta not until you put it into

  98. a pot that's boiling hot. It's just better when it rhymes.

  99. It's the tea bag test. You never gonna know what

  100. you gotta not until you put it in a pot

  101. that's boiling hot. Why do I say that, because until

  102. you are putting hot water, you don't know what's in you.

  103. I could hold back, I could hold up a tea

  104. bag from right here. You without having a laser acute

  105. awareness and desernment, you wouldn't be able to go. That's

  106. Cammel that's ginger. But you put it in hot water

  107. and whatever is on the inside is gonna seep out.

  108. And you don't know that you have these attributes until

  109. you are putting situations where it's gonna be imperative. Oh

  110. they got that fruit or God still working on them,

  111. y'all pray they strengthen the Lord. They not, they don't

  112. have it yet. So so I wanna, I want to

  113. deal with three ways that gentleness uh shows up in

  114. our lives as manifest through the Holy Spirit. In our lives.

  115. It comes through accents, It comes through our attitude, and

  116. it comes through our actions. Gentleness is an accent. It

  117. is an attitude, and it is an action. We say

  118. it one more time. Gentleness is an accent. It is

  119. an attitude, and it is an action. Let's deal with

  120. the accent first. Proverbs fifteen one says, a gentle answer

  121. deflects anger, but harsh words make tempers flair. Proverbs fifteen four.

  122. Gentle words are a tree of life. The deceitful tongue

  123. crushes the spirit. Proverbs twenty five to fifteen. Patience can

  124. persuade a prince, and soft speech. New King James literally

  125. says gentle words can break bones. Do you have the

  126. accent of gentleness? How do you talk to the people

  127. that you love? How do you talk to the people

  128. that you hate? Because when he produces the fruit of

  129. gentleness in your heart, it's not just for people that

  130. are nice. When you get the accent, it's supposed to

  131. work on people that you love and people that you hate.

  132. It's supposed to work on people that you like and

  133. people that you dislike. Never did I get checked more

  134. by the Holy Spirit than when I got married to Juliet.

  135. I could not believe how much he was on my

  136. neck when I got married to this girl. Now, I

  137. come from a loud family. We just loud for no reason.

  138. We loud all the time. And when you are from

  139. a family that's loud, you know you loud because everybody

  140. is loud. So this is normal tone for me. And

  141. I'm not even hype yet I come in the house.

  142. What's good? Nothing was even funny? Just walked in the out. God,

  143. we just loud. Did I get married to Juliet? Were

  144. talking about something. She's like, well, babe, I don't really

  145. like that you did that, And I was like, I wouldn't.

  146. I don't see what the problem is. And she's like,

  147. why are you yelling. I'm like, I ain't yelling. I'm

  148. just passionate about what we're talking about right now. I mean,

  149. you said your part, I'm saying my part. I don't

  150. see what the big deal is. Ain't nobody mad, This's

  151. just my tone. So then I wake up to have

  152. my devotion time. For he is Lord, he Lord, he

  153. has risen from the dead, and he is Lord. Every

  154. neee shell bound, every tongue comenfast, that Gie sus Christ

  155. is Lord, Holy Spirit. I want to talk to but

  156. I want to talk to you about your tone last night.

  157. For He's my Lord, He's my Lord. Like, because you

  158. can't be talking to me about my tone last night.

  159. Did you hear her tone last night? He said, I

  160. want to talk to you about your tone last night.

  161. I want to talk to you about your accent. I

  162. was not gentle. That was not gentle. Yes, it was.

  163. Anybody beside me have a conversation with the Holy Spirit.

  164. You're just not gonna talk to me, and I'm not

  165. gonna talk back. I know you a Holy Spirit. I'm

  166. not gonna disrespect you, and you're gonna get this feedback

  167. from me because I don't. I just you the one

  168. brought the subject up. So he said, this is literally

  169. what he said to me. He said, I want you

  170. to watch your tone with my daughter. I said, have

  171. you had this same conversation with her? She said, we

  172. ain't talking about her right now. And can I just

  173. pause and say, when the Holy Spirit is speaking, ninety

  174. nine point two percent of the time he talking about you.

  175. If you hear a spirit speaking to you about other

  176. people in the negative all the time, that's not the

  177. Holy Spirit. Oh it's a spirit. It's just not the

  178. Holy Spirit. It's a demonic spirit. A demon wants to

  179. talk to you about other people. The Holy Spirit wants

  180. to talk to you about you. He not checking for

  181. the other person. He wants to know do you have

  182. the receipt? We ain't talking about they receive. We talking

  183. about yours. Fix your tom gotta fix your accent. I'm

  184. learning Spanish right now, and the accent is so important.

  185. It actually communicates to Spanish speaking people that you're actually

  186. doing the work to to to sound like an authentic

  187. Spanish speaker. Estory uprendiendo espaniol see see Estori trabajando doro.

  188. If I were to walk up to a Spanish speaking

  189. person and say as stoy I prindiendo as spanel like

  190. they would be like, okay, that's moui my, that's mouie

  191. mooi my better. Okay, the accent is important. You can't

  192. fake gentleness. Let me tell you what fake gentleness actually is. Pettiness.

  193. I couldn't go back to Juliet and say, Holy Spirit,

  194. tell me to fix my tone. So I mean, you

  195. know I'm gentle. Now you happy? Ye? Sorry, you're good.

  196. I won't be loud, no harm you are right now,

  197. it's my tone. Good Now can you hear me? Now

  198. you're not gentle, you're petty. So the accent has to

  199. be precise. You gotta roll your rs. That's not Roberto,

  200. that's Roberto. If he deep in Latin America, he's Rigoberto. Right.

  201. So the accent is important. Everybody say the accent is important.

  202. You got to get the accent right. Gentleness is an accent.

  203. It is a tone, and you don't know if you

  204. got it until somebody hit you with something where you

  205. would usually be like what and then you like what

  206. it's a tone? When I tell you I've been tested

  207. with this real time. In the last six days, my

  208. family has been threatened twice, and I received notification from

  209. a friend of mine that I'm part of the Christian Illuminati.

  210. I didn't even know until last night. And I am

  211. a hood dude from Cali. I started rapping when I

  212. was nine years old. I started battle rapping when I

  213. was thirteen. I was always a skinny dude. Everybody used

  214. to bag on me, so I got really, really precise

  215. with my words. I have made grown men cry pre salvation.

  216. I'm not proud of it. I'm not like trying to

  217. say it like bye, but so, and that's my first nature.

  218. I was born in sin shape, in iniquity, and so

  219. when somebody comes at me, I'd be like, you go first,

  220. I go last. There's no rounds. You going first, and

  221. I'm going last because when I'm done, you're gonna need therapy.

  222. For seven years, I never played fair. Folks would be like,

  223. you so skinny, you you look like you're from Ethiopia,

  224. and they would sing literally, we are the world, we

  225. are the children. Like when me and my brother walked

  226. to school, they'd be like, they called us the Ethiopian twins.

  227. It was sad, it was very sad. I appreciate your sentiment,

  228. but I was like, where's your dad? You have no dad,

  229. you have no future tempers with flair And because I'm skinny,

  230. Iran I did. I wouldn't. I would have got beat up.

  231. So I ran as a believer in Jesus all that

  232. is still in me. Here's what you gotta. This is

  233. why you gotta keep your receipts on you. You can't

  234. have them filed a way that tastes too long ago,

  235. rumming them up. They gotta be on you because when

  236. you get tested, you gotta produce the receipt right then

  237. and there. You don't get to spaz and then come back.

  238. I'm so sorry I acted unseemingly in that moment. No,

  239. at some point, the Holy Spirit should be producing enough

  240. fruit that you get to the back to the house

  241. later and you go. I used to cut people. I

  242. didn't even like. I didn't. I did not.

  243. Even this past week would would have been.

  244. I would have been justified. They text my wife. This

  245. wasn't like a comment on social media. They got the

  246. number and text that's grounds for termination. And the only

  247. tone either one of us had was, oh man, we

  248. have to pray for this person. They're hurting. They're really

  249. really hurting, which brings us to the attitude. Let's go

  250. through these attitude scriptures I'm giving you. I'm giving you

  251. scriptures and passages so you can stand on the word.

  252. When it comes to gentleness. You gotta have a word

  253. to stand on. And I'm telling you, when you start

  254. producing this type of food in your life, when it

  255. really manifests, your life becomes so much easier because you're

  256. not gonna be dealing with what other people deal with.

  257. Other people are stressing, they're fragile. Every post is triggering them,

  258. and you're just like, it's fine. People disagree with you,

  259. and and and try to pick fights, and you're just like,

  260. it's fine. You're gonna be alright because I've produced I'm

  261. producing gentleness. Matthew Chapter number eleven, twenty nine says this,

  262. this is Jesus talking. Take my yoke upon you. Let

  263. me teach you because I am humble and gentle at heart.

  264. This is an attitude, and you will find rest for

  265. your souls Ephesians four two. Always be humble and gentle.

  266. So this is not something that you like pick up

  267. and put down. This is meant to be a permanent

  268. attribute of the Holy Spirit. All of them are always

  269. be humble and gentle, be patient with each other, make

  270. allowance for each other's faults because of your love. Can

  271. I pause right here? Gentleness produces understanding. When you really

  272. take on the attribute of gentleness, understanding is one of

  273. the subsequent results because when you're interacting with people and

  274. when you're in relationships and you become a gentle soul,

  275. other people don't bother you no more because you understand them.

  276. You simply understand when this person doesn't eat, they are angry.

  277. It is not personal. You understand other people. You know what.

  278. The only reason why this person keeps lashing out like

  279. this is because they have an untreated father wound. This

  280. has nothing to do with me. This has to do

  281. with their family of origin. Between zero and six years old,

  282. I was not around. However, I'm the closest thing to

  283. them right now, and so they're taking it out on me.

  284. You don't have to internalize and personalize everything when you're gentle,

  285. because gentleness produces understanding. Everything ain't about you. I'm gonna

  286. help some i'mna free some people. Right now, The average

  287. person in this room doesn't have one hater, let alone. Five.

  288. You can't hate somebody you don't know. What you have

  289. is a misunderstanding from afar. Somebody misunderstood your Facebook posts

  290. and wrote your angry dissertation and response, and if you

  291. read it thoroughly, you will find out they don't know me.

  292. They're not even mad at me.

  293. They're mad at somebody.

  294. Else that they can't reach, and so they put something

  295. in my comments section. That's all that is one Timothy

  296. three to three. This is a qualification for a leader. Lord,

  297. have mercy. We need to do a review for these leaders.

  298. First Timothy three to three. He must not be a

  299. heavy drinker or be violent. He must be gentle. This

  300. next two words is in contrast to the gentleness not quarrelsome,

  301. and not love money. Hear me attitude. He must be gentle,

  302. not quarrelsome. He must be gentle, not quarrelsome. A gentle

  303. person does not argue. I'm not saying that they don't

  304. have conversation or they can't even be in a heated exchange.

  305. What I'm saying is they're not a nitpicky, crawlsome person.

  306. They're not looking for a negative thing to attack and

  307. to always bring up and condescend and talk down. A

  308. gentle person doesn't do that. A gentle person has all

  309. the other attributes that Mike has taught, and then they're gentle.

  310. Never have I found out how much I have this receipt.

  311. It must not be in my pocket, It must be

  312. pinned to my chest. The last two years of the podcaster,

  313. I can't tell you how many people have been trying

  314. to pick fights. But that receipt is in my pocket.

  315. There's bread I pocket on this side, and there's gentlehen

  316. it's in my pocket on this side. So the reaction

  317. video and the comments, actions and this, that and the other,

  318. I'm just like, oh, they want to fight? Holy Spirit,

  319. can I fight? He's like no, And I'm like, but

  320. I are you sure. I can't tell y'all how many

  321. times I have been in the comment section and take

  322. and and and and literally written out what I thought

  323. was a Holy Spirit response. And the Holy Spirit is

  324. on the inside of me watching me type the whole thing,

  325. and I'm literally checking in like this good right, Like

  326. this is good. This gotta be good, right, this gotta

  327. be good, And the Holy Spirit is like he lets

  328. me get the whole thing done. Then he's like, delete that.

  329. Anybody beside me. I mean you crafted it. You had

  330. scriptures everything I got there. I mean the whole thing

  331. was structured. I had hyper leaks everything. I mean that

  332. thing was. I put logos, Bible app quotations in the middle,

  333. like the whole thing was ready, and the Holy Spirit

  334. was like delete that. I was like, why can't that?

  335. The Holy Spirit just gave me my parameters. The parameters

  336. are you are not to engage with anybody unless you

  337. are talking to them in person. It's easy to hate

  338. somebody afar off. It's hard to hate up close. I

  339. need to feel your energy. I can't feel that through

  340. a text. I can't feel that through a comment. I

  341. need to feel. I need to attuned to your nervous system.

  342. I need to know what's going on to I need

  343. to pick up on the traumatic wounds because the heart

  344. is talking, but I don't know where you are. Gentleness

  345. allows you to have at So we have accent. We

  346. have the attitude of gentleness. I want to deal with

  347. now the actions. And there are these two passages in

  348. James and and Peter that are profound to me. So

  349. I just want you to here. Can I just encourage

  350. everybody if you haven't done so. If you've never done this,

  351. I want you to feel no shame. But if you've

  352. never read the whole Bible, I implore you to read

  353. the whole Bible. If you've never you know, when when

  354. people get saved, they'll say, hey, I'm a new believer,

  355. where should I start? And I'm like, from Genesis. I mean,

  356. it's the beginning, but I don't understand. And then the

  357. Begats and them all them big names, and I'm just like,

  358. just read it. Because the Holy Spirit given by Jesus

  359. promise that he would bring all things back to your memory,

  360. but he can't bring you back if it ain't in there.

  361. So I think a lot of people have been playing

  362. duck duck goose with scripture, where they've literally just stapled

  363. the famous passages they have, like Psalm twenty three Staple

  364. to Psalm ninety one, Staple to Isaiah fifty four seventeen

  365. Staple to Jeremiah twenty ninety eleven Staple to John three

  366. point sixteen Staple to Ephesians three twenty and then when

  367. life hits them in a different way, they only got

  368. those seven verses. And then you wonder why, how come

  369. did they know that this whole passage was in the Bible. No,

  370. they never read it. So if you would take a

  371. journey through the entire Bible, it would literally bring you

  372. a peace you have never understood in your life. James,

  373. Chapter number three, verses thirteen through eighteen. If you are

  374. wise and understand God's ways, prove it by living an

  375. honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes

  376. from wisdom. But if you are bitterly jealous and there

  377. is selfish ambition in your heart, don't cover up the

  378. truth with boasting and lying, for jealousy and selfishness are

  379. not God's kind of wisdom. Such things are earthly, unspiritual,

  380. and demonic. For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition,

  381. there you find disorder and evil of every kind. But

  382. the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It

  383. is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing

  384. to yield to others. It is full of mercy and

  385. the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and

  386. is always sincere. And those who are peacemakers will plant

  387. seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness. Y'all.

  388. The Bible's good. When I tell you that thing, it's tasty.

  389. It is absolutely tasty. This is where you get into

  390. the action and the lifestyle of being a gentle person.

  391. I'm gentle because it's gonna help all relationships. It's gonna

  392. help me with everybody. It helps me with my wife,

  393. it helps me with my children. But it also helps

  394. me with the public because it doesn't matter what they're

  395. bringing up, and it doesn't matter what they're talking about.

  396. If I'm gentle, gentleness will not interrupt your sentence. Gentleness

  397. is not defensiveness. Gentleness is power wrapped in peace. Somebody

  398. needs to write that down. Gentleness is power wrapped in peace.

  399. Now again, I'm from the hood, so all of my

  400. references are hood based. Let me tell you what gentleness

  401. looks like on the street. On the street looked like this.

  402. You should have died for that, but I'm gonna let

  403. you live. Let me tell you how extravagant that gift is.

  404. The person that didn't even know how close they were

  405. to death never knows because the person never told them. Tim,

  406. why would you bring that up. That's a little bit okay.

  407. Let me bring you back to the Bible. Jesus did

  408. the same thing on the cross. Ye, those Romans and

  409. those Pharisees had no idea how close they were to death.

  410. He was being gentle on that cross. Why don't you

  411. call down the legion of angels to help you? If

  412. he would have said, say less while he is out

  413. up there bleeding out for the sins of both you

  414. and I. If he would have been like, and they

  415. mocking him, They've already pulled out his beard. They've already

  416. ripped his back open, his whole faces this figure. They've

  417. crushed thorns into his head. They have punched them, they

  418. have pierced them, they have poked them. If they if

  419. that person would have been like, if you really the

  420. son of God, why don't you do something about it?

  421. If he would have been like, okay, what, we wouldn't

  422. even be here right now.

  423. Jesus could have ethered Rome, we would have all went down.

  424. That was Gentlemens, the same one that blue breath into

  425. Adam's lungs has appointed a day for all of Adam

  426. to die. And he could have just moved up the date.

  427. That was gentleness. Gentleness is literal power wrapped in peace.

  428. I could crush you, but I love you too much.

  429. I don't have permission to cook. You don't think I can't, though,

  430. And that's the thing you gotta understand. Gentleness is not weakness.

  431. I gotta help somebody, because if you do this right,

  432. if you've been like a brash person and you always

  433. clap back, and somebody gonna get this work. If you've

  434. been that type of personality, when you first allow the

  435. Holy Spirit's gentleness to take control of your life, it's

  436. gonna feel like you're dying. And that's because you are.

  437. You better read Galations two twenty. I am crucified with Christ,

  438. present tense. It wasn't past. It didn't say I was.

  439. I am crucified with Christ. It's no longer I who lives,

  440. but Christ that lives on the inside of me. So

  441. the only thing I can give you is what He

  442. put in me through the Holy Spirit. I have some

  443. other stuff I would love to give you, except he

  444. said I can't. You're welcome. Now. I'm about to read

  445. you this and then we've done. One of the reasons

  446. why I want you to take the time to read

  447. the whole Bible is you do it once and you're like, wow,

  448. that was a biggercomplishment. But the more you do it,

  449. the more the story, the whole overarching narrative starts to

  450. make sense. So I'm about to read you one Peter

  451. three eight through seventeen. Before I read it to you,

  452. I want to remind you who wrote it. Before I

  453. even read it. What I'm about to read you was

  454. written by the guy who had the hottest temper in

  455. Jesus's camp. What I'm about to read you was written

  456. by the guy who was ready to fight everybody on

  457. Jesus' behalf. What I'm about to read you was written

  458. by the guy that when Jesus himself said the son

  459. of Man has to die for the sins of the world,

  460. he was like, no, you not. I got you fom

  461. that's not going to happen to you. Nothing that's gonna

  462. happen to you, And I will never leave your side,

  463. Jesus said, before the rooster crows three times, you would

  464. have denied me three times? No, I won't. Yes, he did.

  465. And when they came up to him to be like,

  466. you look like him and you sound like him. I

  467. think you've been around him, he went to cussing him

  468. out to try to prove he was somebody else. After

  469. they went to the garden against Simody, the soldiers came

  470. to get him. Peter pulled out his sword, swung at

  471. a dude, cut his ear off. Now, if bro was zorrow,

  472. that would have been like a dope thing he missed.

  473. That wouldn't have been in the ear, that would have

  474. been a hand split blow. Wasn't trying to warran him.

  475. He was trying to off him. He swung up. Dude,

  476. must have he caught his ear, it fell off. Jesus

  477. was like man. That's gentleness, Peter. When Jesus died, he

  478. went back to his old job fishing with his underwear on.

  479. Read your Bible, and then in Acts chapter number two,

  480. the whole he got filled with the Holy Spirit, and

  481. that angry, hot tempered, cussing, fighting, cutting man turned into this. Finally,

  482. all of you should be of one. Sympathize with each other,

  483. love each other as brothers and sisters, be tenderhearted, and

  484. keep a humble attitude. Who is writing this? This can't

  485. be the same Peter that don't repay evil for evil,

  486. PD pity not you talking. You can't be don't repay

  487. evil with evil? You was about that life pity you're

  488. writing it. Who got you writing like this? Don't retaliate

  489. with insults When people insult you, pity pay them back. Instead,

  490. pay them back with a blessing. That is what God

  491. has called you to do, and He will grant you

  492. his blessing. For the scripture say, if you want to

  493. enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue

  494. from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies. Turn

  495. away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and

  496. work to maintain it. The eyes of the Lord watch

  497. over those who do right, and his ears are open

  498. to their prayers. But the Lord turns his face against

  499. those who do evil. Now who will want to harm

  500. you if you are eager to do good? But even

  501. if you suffer for doing what is right, God will

  502. reward you for it. So don't worry or be afraid

  503. of their threats. Peedy said this, Instead, you must worship

  504. Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks

  505. about your hope as a believer, always be ready to

  506. explain it. But do this in a gentle and respectful way.

  507. Keep your conscience clear. Then, if if people speak against you,

  508. they will be a shame when they see what a

  509. good life you live because you belong to Christ. Remember,

  510. it is better to suffer for doing good if that

  511. is what God wants, then to suffer for doing wrong. Yo,

  512. the manifestation of fruit and this passage lets me know

  513. that Peter got the receipt of gentleness. This is one

  514. of the messages that you just have to This is

  515. a message. This whole series has been a series where

  516. you just have to grow up. You can't keep making

  517. excuses for your attitude. Well, I was cool up until

  518. they said, then they're gonna have to learn to respect me. No.

  519. Peter literally says in this last verse it is better

  520. to suffer for doing good if that was God once,

  521. then for suffer for doing wrong. So many of us

  522. have found ourselves in bad situations because we was trying

  523. to keep it real. I had to let him know

  524. I'm not the one, but Jesus was. He was the one,

  525. and he chose to show humility and gentleness. I gotta

  526. tell y'all it's not always easy. But when I tell

  527. you the peace of God that rest in your heart,

  528. when you don't have a lot of drama going back

  529. and forth, when you don't have to lay your head

  530. on the pillow, and silently regret all the things you

  531. said that day, did that day, behaved that day, acted

  532. that day. I'll tell you about the rest of the

  533. reckless text messages. I told you about the dumb post.

  534. And then last night I got to the airport at

  535. five five.

  536. To come to toast to preach today. First plane had

  537. a mechanical issue.

  538. They put me on another flight. We get on the flight,

  539. that flight's missing the panel it's supposed to be coming

  540. over from another place. And then everybody gets a phone

  541. update that that flight has been changed to twelve pm,

  542. I mean twelve am, And they said everybody has to

  543. get off the flame. So everyone's loud and boisterous. I

  544. can't believe you, guys, And I don't know why fly American?

  545. And I'm like, cause you didn't want to drive, and

  546. you're not a billionaire, you don't have your own plane.

  547. Why are you so entitled? What does the stewardess have

  548. to do with this? Why are you going off on her?

  549. Perhaps this has nothing to do with her. It has

  550. something to do with what you didn't get as a kid,

  551. or who broke up with you when you were in

  552. high school. The pilot is you want the pilot to

  553. take off without a panel. I don't even know what

  554. panel is missing, but don't you dare back this thing

  555. up without whatever panel you talking about. Dog, I don't

  556. even know what the panel is, but if you ain't

  557. got it, let me off the plane. So on the

  558. way out, I looked everybody in the eye and I said,

  559. thank y'all so much, and I hope you really have

  560. a good night. And they were like, we apologize, We're

  561. so sorry. I'm like, you have nothing to apologize for it.

  562. This is out of your control.

  563. It's gentleness. Use it at work, use.

  564. It at home, Use it with strangers. Just see how

  565. different it is. They'll know you're different.

  566. Why would you say but how.

  567. You said it? Would you buy your heads and close

  568. your eyes? Holy Spirit? Would you do something for us?

  569. Would you do something through us? Would you take our accent?

  570. Would you take our attitude? And would you take our

  571. actions and make them more like you? We give you

  572. the corners of our heart, the back rooms of our souls.

  573. That we've tried to reserve and hold on to and excuse.

  574. It as personality. Got our our friends and our family,

  575. our husbands and our wives, our children. They're not trying

  576. to change us. You're trying to change us, and you

  577. put us in that community and in that family and

  578. in that relationship to produce your fruit, not ours. So God,

  579. let their receipt of gentleness.

  580. Be evident and prevalent.

  581. In Jesus' name. Amen. I love you guys, Bye, Thank

  582. you for joining us today.
