  1. Welcome to Transformation Church podcast, where we represent God to

  2. the lost and found for transformation in Christ. We're so

  3. glad you're here and wherever you're listening from, we believe

  4. God will transform your life. To today's message.

  5. Today, as we start the last week of an eight

  6. week series, we're calling death to Distraction. Today, I want

  7. to remind you that God is requiring from you another

  8. level of focus. If you're taking notes, I want you

  9. to write focus real big at the.

  10. Top of your notes.

  11. I want you to type it and push the header

  12. and make it bold on your phone. Because the truth

  13. of the matter is that you're too distracted for the

  14. destiny God's called you too. I don't know what your

  15. distraction is. I'm not saying we even have the same distraction.

  16. Some of our distractions do overlap. But the truth of

  17. the matter is, many times I'm worried about your distraction

  18. when I'm imprisoned by mine.

  19. And I believe that God wants everybody to.

  20. Focus focus on Him so that then he can give

  21. you what to focus on.

  22. Everybody hear what I'm saying.

  23. God doesn't just say focus, Because a lot of times

  24. I come to people and I'm like, yo, I need

  25. you to focus on God, But what about my bills?

  26. What about my relationship? What about my kids. God's never

  27. telling you to focus on him to forget other things.

  28. He's telling you to focus on Him so he can

  29. give you priority of how.

  30. To focus, where to focus. When the focus that friend

  31. he's been trying to get you to let go of

  32. for years. He's trying to help prioritize the patterns and

  33. the people in your life. So when God says focus,

  34. the Bible tells us he's the one that lights our path.

  35. Acknowledge him and all your ways, and he will direct

  36. your He's trying to give you instructions, and you just

  37. keep turning because the street looks familiar.

  38. You keep going down these back.

  39. Roads, trying to take shortcuts to a place that God said,

  40. I'll lead you there. And so when God says focus,

  41. it's not for any of the reason except he knows

  42. the destination.

  43. He knows the intended end.

  44. And so everybody, by faith, we have to shout it

  45. out me one more time.

  46. Focus.

  47. So that's why Hebrews twelve one, our scripture of the year,

  48. It says, therefore, since we are surrounded by such a

  49. great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off every weight

  50. or everything that hinders us, especially sin that so easily

  51. entangles us, and let us run with perseverance the race

  52. that God has marked out for us. Fixing our eyes

  53. on Jesus, the pioneer and perfector of our faith. He's

  54. saying focus for the joy that was set before him.

  55. He endured the cross, scorning its shame. Now he been

  56. chilling sat down at the right hand of the Father

  57. of the throne of God. I say it every week,

  58. but fixing your eyes on Jesus gives you the faith

  59. to focus. As we end this series, I was reminded

  60. of a story and today I'm just, honestly, more than

  61. preaching to you, I want to talk to you like

  62. it was just me and you at a coffee table

  63. or in the place I feel most raw to talk

  64. to people.

  65. Is in my garage, in my little gym.

  66. I got a little gym in my garage, and when

  67. people come into my little gym garage, I just feel

  68. like these weights already beating us up while we lying

  69. to each other. Like when I'm in my little gym garage,

  70. I'm like, if you come in here, you want to

  71. know the truth. I'm gonna tell you the truth because

  72. these thirties it's killing me right now. And some of

  73. my most open and honest dialogue has been as I'm

  74. sitting there in a vulnerable, vulnerable position, and I'm sitting

  75. there with somebody who's talking about nonsense, and I'm like,

  76. I gotta.

  77. Just tell them the truth. Y'all know how sometimes you.

  78. Be trying to be politically correct and like let people like, yeah,

  79. I kind of understand, and you the whole time you

  80. think it that's dumb. No, come on, y'all, y'all know

  81. you know you're like uh huh uh huh uh huh

  82. uh huh, and you figured you know what needs to

  83. be said, but maybe you don't have the relational equity

  84. to say it to them in the way it needs

  85. to be said. Do you ever wish you could go

  86. to your boss and just tell them you talk too much?

  87. Okay?

  88. You ever wish you go to a family memorer like

  89. you make us all uncomfortable, or you go to a

  90. family member like you eat too much food? You not

  91. eat too much food, like you take too much. See,

  92. y'all's so judgmental. Y'all know that one family member that

  93. comes and makes a plate to go.

  94. Before they make.

  95. Their actual plate, you need to tell them you didn't

  96. bring anything.

  97. Why why you?

  98. But to have an honest conversation, you have to have

  99. relational equity.

  100. And so I begin to pray.

  101. This week that that in this last cause I could

  102. literally take this series for another ten weeks, but I

  103. know I got to move on. And so I just said, Lord,

  104. help me have the courage to talk to all these

  105. people like it was just me and them, and we

  106. have real relational equity that no matter what I say

  107. in this conversation.

  108. We still gonna be friends after this.

  109. And so today, with that lens of love, I need

  110. to tell you that your distraction is playing you. The

  111. title of my sermon today is your distraction is playing you.

  112. The thing that has begun, the thing that you go

  113. to run to, are taken off of what you know

  114. to do. For some of you, it's a TV show.

  115. For others you, it's a person. For some of you,

  116. it's a career path. For others of you, it's your children.

  117. I'm saying, real thing. You are distracted on what God

  118. puts you on this earth to do because of something

  119. He's allowed you to be in proximity to and now

  120. you're obsessed with a title. You're obsessed with living in

  121. a neighborhood. You're obsessed with people liking you. You're obsessed

  122. with the number of likes and follows. And God said,

  123. all of that is a distraction, and what I put

  124. on you and put in you is for your destiny.

  125. But you are, but you are being distracted, and that

  126. distraction is playing you.

  127. Has anybody ever been played before?

  128. No, no, no, no, I'm talking about like you really thought

  129. somebody was in it for you and you got played. Okay,

  130. Is anybody confused if you getting played? Right?

  131. Now? Come on? Just hands up, Come on.

  132. You talking to him and he like, yeah, in about

  133. ten years, I'll marry you. Hold on, wait, he told

  134. you up front ten years from now you're gonna marry you.

  135. And you sitting there like, oh my god. Twenty thirty five.

  136. What I remember this time? I got played with one

  137. of my brothers. He's in the room, John Stanton. Yeah,

  138. if you're my friend, you know you're gonna get used.

  139. John Stanton played me as we both got played.

  140. Let me tell you the story.

  141. There was this brand of shoe that was really popular

  142. about nine years ago.

  143. Both of us didn't really have no money, but we

  144. really liked nice things.

  145. And these shoes were selling for like a thousand dollars, yeah,

  146. on resale, and neither one of us had that. And

  147. he worked at a shoe store and found this girl

  148. who worked at another shoe store that could get them

  149. for three hundred dollars a pair.

  150. He was excited, he was jubilant.

  151. He was so sure that this was a thing that

  152. he came and shared his glee with me, And in

  153. sharing his excitement, I got excited and was like, yo,

  154. I can get three hundred. I can't get the thouh wow,

  155. but I can get three hundred.

  156. Let's do it together. And so both of us.

  157. Scraped together with our small children, and we got kids

  158. in the diapers and bottles and all kinds.

  159. Of stuff, y'all. We was young, Okay.

  160. We gave this three hundred dollars away to this person

  161. that neither of us had ever met, not in person,

  162. but they were real on ig. They contacted us back.

  163. They doing all the things, and needless to say, the

  164. time they said the shoes would be here, they were

  165. not here. We started messaging them, They started deleting our messages.

  166. To this day, I have never seen that product.

  167. And at some point watch this, I had to come

  168. to the realization that I was getting played. I had

  169. to stop planning my outfits.

  170. Oh come on, y'all. Y'all know when you know.

  171. Something on the way, you'd be like, oh, I'm a

  172. killing with this one.

  173. I'll kill him.

  174. I had to stop planning my outfits. I had to

  175. stop planning for a refund. I had to come clean

  176. to my wife. At some point I had to acknowledge

  177. I am getting this is planning.

  178. They planned me.

  179. I tried to get mad at John, but I realized

  180. he was getting played too. What I'm saying to you

  181. right now is if you don't acknowledge that something is

  182. using you, or using you in an abnormal way, you

  183. won't realize that it's abuse.

  184. It's abuse.

  185. And if I could say it to you in a

  186. raw way, that distraction that you have made a part

  187. of your character, it's abusing you. Your confidence has taken

  188. a hit like nothing.

  189. You've ever experienced.

  190. You you can't even remember the things God told you.

  191. You used to be.

  192. So sure of certain things, and because of what has happened,

  193. and you've been getting played by the distraction of alcohol.

  194. Alcohol ain't a sin. No, it's not a sin, but

  195. you're no good on it. Alcohol's playing you. You make

  196. poor decisions.

  197. It's just a shot. Yes, it's just a shot.

  198. It's not a sin, it's not a sin, but you're

  199. not wise. See, you don't need to be like everybody's

  200. trying to find this line.

  201. I'm just trying.

  202. If you won't be honest with yourself, your distraction is

  203. playing you. Your desire for those things is making you

  204. so upset about your now.

  205. You can't even enjoy what God has done for.

  206. You because that distraction is playing you. And today I

  207. just I don't want to come and just acknowledge all

  208. of our distraction. I just want to say, whatever it is,

  209. there is no distraction that is for your good, not one.

  210. And so for the past seven weeks, we've been looking

  211. at the life of Samson, and then we looked.

  212. At the life of Saul, and I just want to.

  213. Say it to you like this, Your distraction is a

  214. disguise and a destiny killer. Think about the thing you've

  215. been distracted by. Some of y'all be on Facebook looking

  216. at people you ain't been in school with for eighteen years.

  217. I'm in your business. He's growing about on Facebook trying

  218. to see what Lisa Santaaz is doing, not Sanchaez Santaaz.

  219. And I'm just saying it's a small distraction.

  220. But the energy that you're given to that is the

  221. same energy that your wife is missing, a feeling cared for.

  222. And you don't know why little pieces of you are

  223. being eroded. Why it's not like it used to be.

  224. It's not how it's because your distraction is playing.

  225. You pastor Mike. Do you have precedence for this?

  226. Yes, I do, as we've been looking at Samson's life.

  227. And we've gone through the whole thing.

  228. So if you can't pick up with us, you got

  229. to go back and start from zero point one. But

  230. Judges sixteen, verse seventeen, this is after Samson has been

  231. with Delilah, I mean distraction for a period of time,

  232. and it says verse seventeen. Finally Sampson shared his secret

  233. with her. My hair has never been cut, girl, stop

  234. nagging me, he confessed, for I dedicated. I was dedicated

  235. to God as a Nazarite me. I can't mess with

  236. anything that's dead, can't I can't take any strong drink,

  237. and I can't cut my hair like this is what

  238. God and my mam, and then made a deal with

  239. I've known it my whole life, but I've been playing

  240. with what could kill me my whole life from birth.

  241. I've known this.

  242. If my head were shaved, my strength would leave me

  243. and I would become as weak as anyone else.

  244. Verse eighteen.

  245. Delilah, I mean distraction, realized he had finally told her

  246. the truth. The distraction is looking for the truth of

  247. what takes away your power.

  248. Your distraction is looking for the thing? Can I get

  249. them off?

  250. And literally, Delilah finds out, and she tells the Philistine.

  251. Rulers come back one off time.

  252. I'd have found it, girl, I'd have found it, she said,

  253. for he has finally told me his secret. So the

  254. Philistine rulers returned with the money in her hand. Now

  255. this is the person that Samson had been trusting. This

  256. was a distraction he had been putting his faith in.

  257. Sells him out Verse nineteen. Delilah, I mean distraction lulled

  258. Samson to sleep with his head in her lap, and

  259. then she called in all the men to shave off

  260. the seven locks of his hair. In this way, she

  261. began to bring him down, and his strength left him.

  262. His strength left while he was sleep. He didn't even

  263. get to fight.

  264. For his strength.

  265. He was so comfortable with his distraction that he put

  266. his head in his distraction's laugh and lost his power

  267. while sleeping. This is the plan of the enemy for

  268. our lives, is to get us so distracted with things

  269. that don't matter that we lose the power that God

  270. has placed on the inside of us to reach our destiny.

  271. And we don't even realize it. Okay, he said. When

  272. he woke up, he thought like I thought, like a

  273. lot of us thought.

  274. I'll do as I did before and shake myself free.

  275. I'll do as I did before. I'll just apologize and

  276. our marriage will be putting back together.

  277. I'll do as I did before. I'll just go back

  278. and I'll try it again.

  279. But he didn't realize the Lord had left him. So

  280. the Philistines captured him, and look what they did. It's

  281. very specific. They gouged out his eyes. They weren't after

  282. his life life, they were after his vision. I need

  283. everybody to hear me. The distractions in your life are

  284. not after just.

  285. Your life, They're after your vision.

  286. Why wouldn't they just kill them all of his time.

  287. They wanted to take something that would allow his power

  288. to be useless. They took him to Gaza, where he

  289. was bound with bronze chains and forced to grind grain

  290. in the prison. This is how we're going to end

  291. this whole thing, the six exits of distraction. Today, if

  292. you're being distracted in any area, I'm going to give

  293. you six times in your life where you can get

  294. off of that highway that's leading to hell. You're on

  295. a highway to hell. And I'm not talking about in

  296. the afterlife. I'm talking about right on this earth. Some

  297. of y'all don't got to wait to die to go

  298. to hell. You living in it every sing.

  299. No, y'all gotta come on you. This is hell going

  300. through all of this. And I'm trying to give you.

  301. The ability to understand what distractions do so you can

  302. get off on the exit.

  303. Okay. The first thing you need to know about.

  304. A distraction is a distraction always starts off neutral. Anything

  305. that is a distraction in your life was not no

  306. big distraction trying to take your life at the beginning.

  307. It was something you discovered.

  308. Wow, that drink is good Wow, her butt is nice.

  309. Hmm are those apps?

  310. It's never malicious. It's like, oh, that's a nice vacation.

  311. They went on. It's neutral.

  312. The best place to get off the highway of hell

  313. is when you notice it, leave it right. His wife

  314. is fine, that ain't my wife? Yeah? See, so many

  315. times were trying to demonize the discovery. Yeah, why are

  316. we demonizing the discovery when a child has never had

  317. ice cream before? If you ever see a child that's

  318. been just eating like Kiwi's and and and uh, guacamole

  319. and broccoli.

  320. The first time.

  321. They get some Bluebel vanilla ice cream, their whole bodies

  322. starts shaking it. WHOA, my god? Why why we don't go? Ah,

  323. that's not good. It's it's discovery. It's it's if that

  324. becomes their only place to eat. Yeah, it's and if

  325. that's what they think is breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

  326. Do you understand what I'm saying. So what I'm saying

  327. is it's neutral.

  328. But many of us have things right now that are

  329. neutral that if you don't get off of making that

  330. thing something you keep looking at. I heard it said

  331. like this, the first look is not the issue. It's

  332. the second look, y'all hear.

  333. What I'm saying. The first look is not the issue.

  334. If I go and I'm walking and I'm like, oh okay.

  335. It's the y'all know.

  336. What I'm talking about is the I'm putting myself in danger?

  337. What are you looking at too long?

  338. I'm just we're in the gym, we're talking vulnerable.

  339. Why do you keep looking at it? Why do you

  340. keep looking at them? Why do you keep looking at

  341. what you don't have? Why do you keep looking at

  342. what church?

  343. And what that? What place? And what car? And what?

  344. Why do you why do you keep looking at it?

  345. Some of y'all need to have a block party.

  346. I'm not talking about outside New York.

  347. I'm just talking about everything in your life that is

  348. something that you can look at and that takes your

  349. attention or your focus. You need to block it. And

  350. the reason you don't is because of an easy word

  351. that most people don't understand.

  352. It's pride.

  353. You actually think you better than you are in that situation.

  354. I can handle that. I can swipe past it. I

  355. can look at it.

  356. Until you can't. That's some ke Why are you saying this?

  357. Because some of you would save your family's line if

  358. you would get off the exit of this distraction while

  359. it's neutral. Because after a distraction is neutral, this what happens.

  360. It becomes nurtured. If you don't kill the distraction at neutral,

  361. then you start to nurture it. Then you start to

  362. make provisions for it. Then you start to do it

  363. secretly when nobody's around in only every six weeks and

  364. every six months, and then you start to make provisions

  365. for it, and then you make excuses for it. And

  366. I know it's quiet in here because I'm in your business.

  367. The truth of the matter is right now. Some of

  368. you have been nurturing these things just for the right

  369. opportunity for them to get grown enough to kill you.

  370. And God's telling you this is the season. I'm telling

  371. you the focus put death to distraction. I forgive you.

  372. It's gone past neutral. You started to nurture it. Get

  373. off of this highway right now. And while you've nurtured it,

  374. before it takes you off, you need to exit.

  375. Delilah started off neutral.

  376. It was just another philistine woman that he saw.

  377. And the crazy thing is he was supposed to.

  378. Be the hero, the chance being for the philistine to

  379. actually kill all the Philistines. But he started to love

  380. what he was supposed to conquer, and it went from

  381. neutral to he started nurturing it. Remember he said to

  382. his father earlier, he said, I must have her.

  383. I got it. I mean, it's my birthday. I gotta

  384. go to the club. I'm only turning thirty once. I'm

  385. only turning forty once. I'm only like, we make these

  386. things in our head, Like I'm forty six.

  387. What happens at forty six, I don't know, but today

  388. I'm gonna do it. We make these things, and what

  389. we're doing many times, watch this is nurturing our distractions.

  390. And anytime you nurture something, you give it enough fuel,

  391. enough food for it to grow. So I'm just asking you,

  392. wherever you're at right now, if your distraction you've started

  393. to actually nurture it, I'm asking you to develop it.

  394. I'm asking you put a.

  395. Death to that distraction right here, because if you don't,

  396. it goes from being neutral something you discovered, to something

  397. that you nurture, which is developed. To watch this, it

  398. becomes natural. And when your distraction and you are natural

  399. with each other, it becomes the thing that desensitizes you.

  400. Some of us right now, if your closest friends told

  401. you your real issue, you would get so triggered.

  402. If your friends just so.

  403. You have an issue shopping and you're like, this is

  404. you shopping?

  405. What you talking about? I don't have no issues sho.

  406. And your card on Amazon right now has ninety eight

  407. things in them. Okay, I know that that got that

  408. got personal. I saw the eyes come at me right there.

  409. I mean, and I'm not not saying that it's wrong

  410. or bad or not, but like when.

  411. You have an issue, you know what you go to do.

  412. You're not gonna pray, You're not gonna go talk to God,

  413. You're not gonna ask for counsel.

  414. You're gonna go shop. He done pissed me off. I oh,

  415. I damn, I ain't that. Come on, let's be honest.

  416. Why are you saying that?

  417. Because now, because of culture, because of your friends, because

  418. of it being secret, nobody even thinks it's an issue.

  419. So right now many of us are distraction is covert.

  420. It's not an issue. Everybody does it, and God says,

  421. but this takes your focus. Every time I try to

  422. tell you to come spend some time with me, you

  423. buying a new dress. It's only five ninety nine. It's

  424. costing you more than five ninety nine. It's causing you direction,

  425. it's costing you wisdom, it's costing hearing from me.

  426. But it's so natural, it's so natural, and.

  427. Please don't feel this criminated against. I'm not calling everybody's

  428. situation because I gotta get us past this point. But

  429. I'm just saying, whatever your distraction is, if it's comfortable

  430. and natural to you, you may be desensitized when the

  431. Holy Spirit tries to touch you and say, hey, this

  432. is an issue. You don't even feel it no more.

  433. I don't got no conviction around that. No, your numb.

  434. He he you should. He's touching you.

  435. He's saying, stop saying that, Stop talking like that, stop

  436. cussing like that, stop talking to them kids like that.

  437. He's hey, hey, hey, hey, but you don't feel it

  438. no more because it's been so natural.

  439. Okay, I gotta move. If you don't kill it when

  440. it's neutral, then it gets nurtured. If you don't kill

  441. it when it's nurtured, it becomes natural. If you don't

  442. kill it when it's natural.

  443. Y'all know that Sampson.

  444. Has tried, has been assassin has had an assassination attempt

  445. against his life four times, and this dumby, no I

  446. have to call him what he is at this moment,

  447. is still going to continue to stay around the thing

  448. that he nearly escaped death three other times that he

  449. knows of how many of y'all pray that pray God,

  450. if you get me out it is Lord. I'm telling

  451. you right now, if you get me out of this situation,

  452. I'll promise you.

  453. I promise, I'll make ather. And he gets you out

  454. of there, and you forget.

  455. Okay, you become desensitized, and watch this Judge is sixteen nineteen.

  456. Delilah lulls Himpson to sleep with his head in her lap,

  457. and then she called in the men to shave off

  458. his seven locks. After it becomes natural, your distraction ask

  459. you to take a nap. And when your distraction ask

  460. you to take a nap, this is what happened. You

  461. become detached. You're not even, you're not even, you're not

  462. even cognizant of reality.

  463. No more.

  464. Have you ever had a friend doing something so dumb

  465. that's obvious that everybody else, but they really think that

  466. it's the thing to do.

  467. They become detached.

  468. I heard a story of somebody doing something really, really,

  469. really like, I can't even believe you would leave all

  470. of what God has done for this thing that's not

  471. even real. But they were so detached from reality. They

  472. had taken a nap in the lap of a distraction.

  473. And I think about this, and said he had seven dreadlocks.

  474. He was a brother, by the way, because he had dreadlocks.

  475. Y'all see that. Okay, there's just blues clues. Put it together.

  476. Okay, my man takes a nap and they cut off

  477. seven locks of hair.

  478. I wonder which one did his witch cut? Was the

  479. one he lost his power? Which one? Y'all think it

  480. was the first one? No, it wasn't the last one.

  481. It couldn't have been the last one, because he said

  482. his hair should have never been cut.

  483. So the first cut, and.

  484. He probably had seven, thinking the grace wasn't gonna run out. Surely,

  485. surely God's gonna And he told him, Hey, don't let none.

  486. Of y'all and some of us play with God like that.

  487. And your distraction is playing you. You're laying in the

  488. lap of the thing that's about to take your power.

  489. He loses his power. And if you're at the place

  490. where you where you're taking a napew your sleep on

  491. a distraction.

  492. Wake God, no, no, no, hear what I'm saying to you.

  493. I needed to be loud like an alarm. Wake God.

  494. Hear me, because the only thing that could have saved

  495. Samson at that moment, yeah before as the sisters were coming,

  496. as if he would have woken up. And some of

  497. y'all are so close, You've been playing with it so long.

  498. This is my last time I can talk about this

  499. for a couple of weeks, and I just gotta tell

  500. somebody you may not have next month. I'm just saying

  501. Tomorrow's not promise. I'm not trying to scare you. I'm

  502. just trying to tell you the truth. Like like you're

  503. waiting for this thing that happened for you to actually

  504. obey God, and God's like, ay, you might not have

  505. all the chances you think you got. I'm not't even

  506. talking about death. You think you're gonna play that woman

  507. again and she gonna stay with you. You think you're

  508. gonna lie of those children again and they're gonna still

  509. have the same respect level for you. You think that

  510. you're going to steal from that job again, and you

  511. still gonna have a job. I'm saying there are consequences in.

  512. Some of y'all like that's extreme. Apply it for you.

  513. Came as an oracle of God today to tell you your

  514. distraction is playing you. Your distraction is going to be

  515. sitting there watching you lose what God promised you.

  516. This is where we end.

  517. If you don't get off the exit at Neutral, and

  518. you don't get off the exit at nurtured, and you

  519. don't get off the exit at natural, and you don't

  520. get off the exit.

  521. At NAP, this is what happens.

  522. Then something gets mixed in your life. See, everybody thinks

  523. that the nixing or the cutting or the taking away

  524. or the ending of something was his hair. That wasn't

  525. the only thing they took. It's enough, he's powerless. Now

  526. watch what I'm saying to you.

  527. They cut his hair, they take his hair, they take

  528. his strength, but they take something else.

  529. So the Philistines verse twenty one, Judge sixteen twenty one

  530. captured him and gallup out his eyes. They took his sight,

  531. they took his vision. What are you saying, pastor mic

  532. They wanted him to live in the dark. Your distraction

  533. ultimate goal is for you to live in the dark.

  534. They could have killed him. It could have been death.

  535. They said, Nah, it's better for everybody to see him

  536. still survive, but in his state of weakness. Your distraction

  537. wants you to still be seen, but still be bound.

  538. Oh God, your distraction wants you to still be able

  539. to show up, but not be able to say anything.

  540. Your distraction wants you to be alive, but not be living. God,

  541. your distraction is playing you. And the reason I know

  542. is because it played me for years. My distractions of pornography, addiction,

  543. my distractions of comparison, my distractions I'm not telling you

  544. something that I just want you to go do.

  545. I've walked this thing out.

  546. My distraction of lust, my distractions of perversion, my distractions

  547. of a love for money. This series I'm about to

  548. preach next week is from my life. I had wicked

  549. things in my heart when it came to money and

  550. wealth and what it would make me, and God had

  551. to take and strip me of all of those things

  552. to actually let me see that wealth is supposed to

  553. work for the kingdom.

  554. It's supposed to be a tool.

  555. A few weeks ago, we told the church that as

  556. a church, in the last ten years, we've given away

  557. thirty four million dollars.

  558. Y'all don't understand. Yeah, praise God.

  559. But the thing that you don't understand is if God

  560. wouldn't have stripped me of the distraction.

  561. Of a wicked.

  562. That money would have had me doing other things. Guys,

  563. I'm trying to plead with you today. I'm not trying

  564. to make you feel bad. I've done the same thing.

  565. All I'm saying to you is you're not gonna change

  566. nothing you think is helping you.

  567. And I just came to tell you your distraction is

  568. playing you.

  569. They take Samson's vision, and after his vision is gone,

  570. it turns nuclear. I'm stopping for a moment because I'm

  571. just thinking about what would have happened if I got distracted.

  572. I'm sitting here on this day actually messed up because

  573. I was told earlier this week that March ninth today

  574. is the day that God gave me a vision ten

  575. years ago in my daughter's room at seven twenty nine.

  576. Many of you know the story.

  577. Many of you know.

  578. Just bring it to me real quick, and I blew

  579. it up so that you could see the reality of this,

  580. and I start getting emotional because ten years ago today

  581. I had nothing. I had just become the lead pastor

  582. of Transformation Church. Thirty seven days earlier. I was sitting

  583. there with three hundred people in the church, and I

  584. woke up under anxiety and pressure, not knowing if I

  585. could stay pure and not look at pornography, and how

  586. can I lead people my parents' age, and how I

  587. just had all this the what is anybody gonna give?

  588. Are they gonna trust me?

  589. Are they gonna find out that I went to jail

  590. and I had to serve community service.

  591. They did, they found out. Let me be let me

  592. be clear, like.

  593. But God said, he said, Michael, I'm gonna give you

  594. a vision. I'm gonna give you a destiny. I'm gonna

  595. give you a destination. And sitting in my daughter's room

  596. at seven twenty nine to eight m Bella's room, I

  597. wrote it down. March ninety, twenty fifteen, the Spirit Bank

  598. Event Center will be Transformation Church.

  599. I wrote it down.

  600. I took this picture off of Google. I tried to

  601. make the image as good as I can. If you

  602. get close up on it, you can see how my

  603. pages document didn't really allow me to win. I even

  604. spelled transformation wrong. I spelled transfer may on. I forgot

  605. the tea. I leave it just like this to let

  606. people know that it doesn't have to be perfect. It

  607. has to be written down, it has to.

  608. Come from God.

  609. I wrote this down, and as I think of us

  610. on March nineteen years later, shooting a movie on this

  611. exact day, in this facility, that was not Oh God,

  612. in this facility, that was just a vision on a.

  613. Piece of paper. And the first thing said, we will

  614. have a state of.

  615. The art facility. This is before we had a speaker,

  616. a stage of light. And it just goes on to

  617. say all of these things. I start to think, what

  618. would happen if I would have got distracted believe the

  619. lies and believe what they said. And when God told

  620. me to represent and God told us to do ransom,

  621. and then we got people writing blogs on.

  622. Us and all that other stuff.

  623. What if I would have got distracted, I would have

  624. missed out on one of the many destinies destinations. Today,

  625. I'm just here to ask you don't miss out on

  626. whatever God has for you because you've fallen in love.

  627. With a distraction. Your distraction is playing you.

  628. My favorite part about this whole scripture. I'm gonna just

  629. set this right here. It's Judges verse sixteen and twenty two.

  630. This is gonna encourage somebody. He gets captured, his eyes

  631. get gouged.

  632. Out, he gets put on display. But somebody shot at me.

  633. But I'm not talking about your glutiest maximism.

  634. But I'm talking.

  635. About the word that interrupts whatever sentence is being written

  636. about you.

  637. Whatever lie has been said, God says, but oh God,

  638. whatever thing that you've been going down, and everything that

  639. you've been going, God will significantly stop being and say,

  640. but not them, but not my children, but not this family.

  641. But no, no, no, no, no, no.

  642. They were this, but they've been redeemed.

  643. They were a liar. But any man that be in

  644. Christ here is a new creation.

  645. They were addicted. But I'm the one who sets you free.

  646. And if I set you free, you are free in

  647. team Samson has been distracted his whole life. But before long,

  648. the Bible says in verse twenty two.

  649. His hair began to grow back.

  650. I feel like God is about to do a road

  651. gain situation in some of y'all situations, y'all your hair

  652. about to your faith is about to grow back. Your

  653. confidence is about to grow back. Your integrity is about

  654. to grow back. God is not gonna let it in

  655. like this, standing.

  656. All over this building. What are you saying, pastor Mike?

  657. You can have focus After the failure, Samson, After he

  658. lost his eyes, he didn't lose his voice, and he

  659. began to pray to God. Some of y'all are in

  660. darkness right now, but you still got your voice.

  661. Some of you can't see your way forward.

  662. But the enemy wants you to shut up, and you

  663. need to use your voice Judge of sixteen twenty. And

  664. then Samson prayed to the Lord, Sovereign, Lord, just remember

  665. me again. Oh God, please strengthen me just one more time.

  666. With one blow, let me pay back these Philistines. What

  667. he's saying, with one blow, this one last act? Can

  668. I please still reach destiny? You assigned me from birth

  669. to defeat the Philistines. I had to go through a

  670. lot because I was distracted.

  671. I lost my.

  672. Place, I lost my sight, I lost my hair. But

  673. one more time, God, could you use me so I

  674. can actually fulfill my destiny?

  675. He said, Can I pay them back for the loss

  676. of my two eyes?

  677. Then Samson put his hands on the two center pillars

  678. that held up the temple, pushing against them, not with

  679. just his own strength, but with the strength of Heaven's

  680. army behind him, with both hands. Watch what he did.

  681. He's pushing and praying. He's pushing and praying. He's not

  682. just pushing. He's just not using his own strength. He's

  683. pushing and praying. It says with both hands. He pushed

  684. Verse thirty, and he prayed, let me die with the Philistines,

  685. and the temple crashed down on the Philistine rulers and.

  686. All the people. So he killed more people when he

  687. died then during the time that he was alive.

  688. When you turn to Jesus, you can steal fulfill your

  689. destiny after distraction, give God praise in this frost. Somebody

  690. say it's not finished. Y'all missed it. Somebody say it's

  691. not finished. So you decide, You decide today. I just

  692. want to pray for everybody that knows they got to

  693. get off one of these exits.

  694. I'm gonna pray for you, and.

  695. I'm gonna ask anybody that wants to ask Jesus into

  696. your life. I want you to have an opportunity because

  697. that's the only thing that changed my focus. And as

  698. we do that again, this moment right here is about

  699. people giving their life to Christ. Yeah, we're about to

  700. shoot a scene from a movie right after this, and

  701. if you got to go, you can do that. But

  702. there is nothing more important that will happen today, not

  703. one thing than this right here, because we're talking about

  704. life and death. We're talking about walking around in darkness

  705. or walking around in His marvelous light. Today is the

  706. only thing that changed my life. And I need our

  707. church to be praying. If you're watching online right now,

  708. today is the day of salvation. If there is any

  709. area in your life that you know distraction has been

  710. leading you down the wrong path, would you just identify

  711. by just lifting your hand. I want to pray for

  712. you today, just in any area I'm in the right place,

  713. And would you join one of those hands and just

  714. lift it like you're ready to receive.

  715. Yeah.

  716. Father, today, I just thank you that we're coming to

  717. you vulnerably, humbly, and we're repenting, we're turning, and we're

  718. saying God, forgive us for being committed to our distraction more.

  719. Than we have been committed to your instructions. Today we

  720. turn back to you.

  721. Whatever you tell us to do, we shall do whatever

  722. you say that we need to do. We will be obedient, Father,

  723. even if we're in the dark. Right now, we don't

  724. feel like we could hear you speak, Lord, because your servants,

  725. your sons and daughters are listening. Father. We need more

  726. than what's happening right now, and today we know we

  727. can't do it without you.

  728. God, let us be comfortable with the uncomfortable. Father. Some

  729. of us have been so familiar with our.

  730. Delilahs and our distractions, Father God, that we don't even

  731. know who we are without them. But today I thank

  732. you for giving us a brand new identity. Yeah, that

  733. we can let go of relationships that have nothing for us,

  734. Father and actually live in freedom. That we can, Father, God,

  735. take our careers that have not.

  736. Been serving us, but been running us.

  737. God, we can put them in their proper perspective.

  738. God.

  739. Today we are saying there is no one else else

  740. that we will focus on more than You, And so

  741. today we look to you. Thank You that today will

  742. be a line of demarcation, because we will not let

  743. our distraction steal our vision Another day. Hell us, redeem us,

  744. refocus us, and I just declare, Father God, that everybody

  745. that's making this decision there will be divine help that

  746. comes to their every day life. Father, your Holy Spirit

  747. is not just for a church experience.

  748. It is actually for how we live in the streets.

  749. So God, I thank you.

  750. That tomorrow and today and the rest of this week

  751. and the rest of this year, Father, you will allow

  752. us to walk and focus.

  753. We will hear you. Since you Father, it will be

  754. so detailed.

  755. You'll be able to say, don't go there, and we

  756. will listen and obey. You'll be able to say, stop

  757. talking to them, and you will will listen and obey.

  758. You will be able to say.

  759. Father, God, sit and wait on me, will wait on you.

  760. Do what work on the inside of us.

  761. As our prayer.

  762. Now for anybody in here in the same attitude, because

  763. God's doing heart surgery right now. If you're in this room,

  764. if you've never accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and savior, I.

  765. Don't care who you are. I don't care if you're.

  766. A producer from Hollywood, and I don't care if you

  767. came out of here off the street.

  768. Today is your day of salvation.

  769. God has divinely orchestrated all of these moments to get

  770. you to this moment right here. And I don't want

  771. nothing for you. I want everything for I don't want

  772. anything from you. I want everything for you. I want

  773. you to experience the freedom that comes when you surrender

  774. your life to Jesus.

  775. And it's very simple.

  776. According to Romans ten nine, it said as if you

  777. confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that

  778. Jesus Christ is Lord, you.

  779. Will be saved. Is that it? Yeah, there's some other

  780. things that you're gonna have to.

  781. Go through to actually get your life in line with that.

  782. But I'm telling you your name will be written in

  783. the Lamb's Book of Life.

  784. If you're watching online or you're in this room, I'm.

  785. Telling you right now today, God wants to transform your life.

  786. On the count of three.

  787. If that's you, and there will be multiple people, there's

  788. hands already going up.

  789. I just want you to throw your hand in the air.

  790. One, you're making the greatest decision of your life.

  791. Two, I'm proud of you.

  792. But your name is gonna be written in the Lamb's

  793. Book of Life. Three just lift your hands all up.

  794. I see you, I see you, My sister, my brother,

  795. I see you.

  796. I see you.

  797. Come on, y'all, I see you, my brother. More than

  798. I see you. God sees you, y'all.

  799. Let's celebrate what's happening in here. Hallelujah, Thank you Lord.
