-
To find service times and watch messages online,
-
see our website at lifebiblechurch .org. Now,
-
enjoy this week's message. Incredible God, isn't
-
he? Can we just thank him? Come on, thank you,
-
Lord. Incredible Jesus. We love you, Lord. We
-
thank you for your mercies. We thank you for
-
your grace. We thank you for your healing and
-
deliverance. Bless you, Jesus. Wow. Lord, we
-
stand in awe today. The incredible, amazing presence
-
of our King. And I'm asking now, Holy Spirit,
-
that you would accomplish what you want to do
-
today. Lord, you're touching hearts, you're touching
-
minds. There's adjustment, there's alignment,
-
as you said in this room. There's a repositioning.
-
There's a shift from what we knew to obedience
-
of what you're saying. And Lord, there's maturity
-
that's... Ready to come, Lord, that would help
-
us. Maturity brings fruit. And Lord, it brings
-
you glory. That's the joy of growing up in God.
-
That's the joy of learning and allowing your
-
righteousness and your presence and your holiness,
-
your love, your grace to flow in us is that it
-
brings the fruit. Righteousness, peace. It brings
-
gentleness, kindness, goodness, love, faithfulness,
-
and self -control. As the scripture says, against
-
these there is no law or condemnation. This is
-
what growing in Christ does. It brings the fruit
-
of your character and your nature. Lord, I'm
-
asking that for all of us. Maturity means deepening
-
in our roots. Maturity means saying no to the
-
flesh and saying yes to the spirit. And we ask
-
that now in Jesus Christ's holy name. Amen. Amen.
-
Well, lift up the pedal. There we go. Can you
-
play the happy birthday song? Happy birthday
-
to you. I'm gonna need some prayer because that
-
was not supposed to happen. So just pray for
-
preservation and protection after service. My
-
lovely wife's birthday. Also, Alicia Buckland
-
and Andrew Krupp today. Birthdays today. So happy
-
birthday, everybody. All right. Amazing. There
-
they go. That was it. Well. There is so much
-
that is stirring in my heart. If you came Wednesday
-
night and you stayed for my Revelation class,
-
I kind of unpacked some of the conference on
-
some of the things that... that people had some
-
questions on. And I'm not going to do that this
-
morning, just simply because I've already shared
-
that with the church in that process. But I do
-
want you to know that this conference I've had,
-
this past conference, I've had a lot of people
-
tell me it's the best ever. I've had some people
-
say, I didn't understand this, I didn't understand
-
that. And that's okay. Those are... Those are
-
points, I tried to explain some of them, but
-
those are points that the Holy Spirit gets to
-
work on you and say, Lord, show me this in scripture.
-
Open my eyes. What I appreciate is, and unfortunately,
-
we wish, Jenny and I talk about it all the time
-
when we have conferences, that the after the
-
meeting. times that we get to spend with the
-
men and women of God that come, sometimes go
-
two, three hours of just talking about the in
-
-depth things of God and piecing scriptures together.
-
And so it would be awesome for me to just kind
-
of have you in my suit jack pocket and get to
-
hear some of those conversations. Some, you know,
-
that you don't want to hear just because of certain
-
things, because we know people in the body of
-
Christ and we're trying to kind of adjust things
-
as things that were teachings and doctrines and
-
in those kinds of things, comparing them to scripture.
-
But it is so wonderful to sit with these guys
-
during a meal and just talk to them about what
-
the Lord was showing, how they got that in scripture,
-
the revelation of it. So I just, I appreciate
-
Jim Hockaday, I appreciate Bishop Tony and Dr.
-
Hood. And I'm so grateful for... Their lives.
-
I do want to say. We've already scheduled. 2027
-
life conference. I kind of. Before they left.
-
Before I actually take them to the airport. I
-
make them sign a document. That they will. But
-
we've got. Jim Hockaday. Bishop Tony. And Tim
-
Karskadin. Coming in 2027. And so we're looking
-
forward to that. It's going to be a great. Great
-
conference. The Lord's going to speak to that.
-
I want to kind of roll into a subject. We're
-
going to continue on our, because we're not even
-
close to a third of the way through, on the series
-
that we've been talking about, the Something
-
More Church. And I don't know how long I'll stay
-
on it, but the Lord has been speaking to me.
-
Thursday night, I taught in our Freedom Night,
-
for those of you that come to that, I taught
-
on When Israel, the church in the wilderness,
-
came to a place called Rephidim. And Rephidim
-
is a place that was meant by God, even though
-
it caused something inside of the people of Israel
-
to respond. The name Rephidim actually means
-
a place to spread out. A place to actually...
-
cause you to move into a place of rest and to
-
let, if I could say it this way for a guy that
-
doesn't have any hair, let your hair down just
-
a little bit from what you've been walking in
-
to be able to spread out and get more of God
-
because you've been on a journey. Now, I'm not
-
going to go into the teaching too much of what
-
I did Thursday night because I really dealt with
-
Esau and Amalek and the Amalekites just dealing
-
with that spirit that's there. But I want you
-
to understand that sometimes, especially after
-
big moments in God, you can walk into a place
-
that you'll either Let your hair down and your
-
soul down and you'll just be bleh. Because you've
-
carried angst and you're looking through a filter
-
of negativity rather than looking at what God
-
is actually trying to bring you out and begin
-
to rest in a new grace that's trying to come
-
upon you. Now it's significant when you understand
-
that the children of Israel As we see in the
-
book of Exodus, as they, remember, they went
-
through the 10 plagues, and I don't have time
-
to go into it, but if you've never heard this
-
before, it's very, very important that you understand
-
this. Every plague that happened was in direct
-
challenge and defeat of 10 different small G
-
deities of Egypt. Every plague was a challenge
-
and a defeat. of what the Egyptians, their magicians,
-
their occult practicers, believed were the gods
-
of Egypt. And God destroyed them systematically,
-
one by one by one. So much so that the last two
-
plagues... was against the god Ra, which was
-
the sun god, and then the last one was against
-
Pharaoh himself, who represented the gods above
-
all the pantheons of gods, who was the supreme
-
god, and the Lord took his firstborn. It was
-
a saying, you have no power at all. He humbled
-
every, now listen, the magicians and the occult
-
practitioners could stand and operate in supernatural
-
powers to the first three signs. Right? They
-
could do the leprosy. They could do the staff
-
turning into a serpent. And they could do the
-
water into the blood. But once they started going
-
plague four through 10, they even said of themselves,
-
this is none other than the very finger of God,
-
destroying the fact that Pharaoh was the ultimate
-
God. And the pride of Pharaoh, the pride of them
-
putting their opinions, their values in another
-
system and another pantheon of gods rather than
-
the one true living God was shown and it was
-
to break the children of Israel's understanding
-
because they had lived in that culture for 400
-
years. Now listen, we're gonna celebrate the
-
250th anniversary 1776 here in July. 250 years.
-
Just think of how much our nation has gone through
-
and in its process of some great, some not so
-
great things that we've grown for 250 years in
-
our processes. Look what we've lost along the
-
way. That's at 250. The Bible's very clear. that
-
after Jacob died in the land of Goshen and that
-
Joseph had him embalmed and Jacob's last statement
-
to Joseph is, do not leave me here. Why? Jacob
-
was a prophetic person. He was saying, I'm gonna
-
pass away and I'm not gonna see all the promises
-
fulfilled, but don't you leave a shred of me
-
of what's left. In this place. You carry my bones.
-
To the place of promise. And that will preach.
-
I may not see it on this side. But I know the
-
God who I serve is above time and answers prayers.
-
And what he said to Abraham is going to come
-
to pass. I believe that word. I believe what
-
he told my father. I've met him. I believed how
-
he sustained me. I believe what he brought back
-
to me. I've now prophesied over all my children.
-
Don't you dare leave a remnant of me in this
-
place. You carry me out of a place called Egypt
-
and you bring me into the inhabitants. that God
-
promised me. Now that's, I'm gonna preach this
-
morning because I can, there is something on
-
this that we need to understand. This is what
-
God wanted with the children of Israel. He wanted
-
them to have something more than the world system
-
and the occult system. That was intertwined.
-
Let me say that again. You cannot have a world
-
system without an occult system. To think that
-
the world system is without power and without
-
authority and without the ability to bind is
-
foolishness. Because the world system and the
-
occult system operate together. But when God's
-
system comes and salvation comes and the blood
-
comes and the water comes and the oil comes,
-
it breaks the authority of every system that's
-
got in your mind, got in your body, and got in
-
your thinking. And the point was to get Egypt
-
out of Israel. Because now they've had not just
-
400 years there. Joseph lived there with Jacob.
-
Then Joseph died and they lived long, I mean,
-
120 years. He died and then the scripture specifically
-
says, and then a generation arose that did not
-
know Jacob or Joseph. And that's when the Pharaohs
-
said, we have to turn them into slavery. So from
-
400 years, in essence, they had 300 years that
-
they were under complete bondage. 100 years between
-
the generations living, they lived in the land
-
of Goshen, not realizing how wonderful it was
-
until the bite of the clamp of that system of
-
culture, that system of the world, enslaved them,
-
removed their freedoms, and began to warp their
-
minds of how they thought. What did they think?
-
They thought of themselves differently. They
-
knew their heritage. They knew their culture.
-
They kept operating in the understanding that
-
they were Hebrews, but they could not seem to
-
break out of it. And when God began to deliver
-
his people through his power and through his
-
word, even though... Every single time there
-
was a hardening of heart and seemed like resistance
-
at every level. How many have ever been in something
-
where you get a word from God and then immediately
-
find resistance harder than it was in the last
-
atmosphere? Okay, three of us. The reality is
-
when God is going to break you out of something,
-
And he's fixing to do something on your behalf,
-
which he's always doing. I mean, it's a great
-
little Southern word. God is always fixing to
-
do something good. Okay, I mean, we sing about
-
it. He's moving, he's moving, he's working. Even
-
when I don't see it, he's moving, he's working.
-
When he's going to do something, don't be surprised
-
that the thing that you've been praying for all
-
of a sudden gets harder. That is a clue. Now,
-
see. For the majority of Israel, they didn't
-
clue in to what God was doing with his word and
-
his leaders of speaking to the thing and bringing
-
breakthrough. They just got more discouraged.
-
Why? Because all of a sudden they got less straw.
-
All of a sudden their world got harder. And they
-
had already been longing for freedom but didn't
-
know how to use freedom. And then when it got
-
harsher and the taskmaster's whip got more sting
-
to it because they developed a tolerance of living
-
oppressed, they didn't know what to do. And God
-
was breaking them out. So you look at the 10
-
plagues, the last plague, killing the firstborn
-
of all of Egypt from slave to the Pharaoh's house,
-
only the blood. Only the blood of the lamb on
-
the doorpost caused the death angel to pass over.
-
And then they go to the waters and get us, what
-
is that? Again, Pharaoh like, what in the world
-
did we do? Get on your chariots and get after
-
them. What did God do? Drove the enemy to pursue
-
after them. See, we don't always think that when
-
there's victory, We look behind us and when we
-
see it coming, we get paralyzed in fear. And
-
God had to keep moving them forward. Pharaoh's
-
army drowned in the Red Sea. Then they go to
-
the mountain where God comes down on the mountain
-
by fire. Just prior to that, what happened? They
-
went to bitter waters. God had them throw the
-
tree or the... big beam of tree in the water.
-
He made it sweet. He revealed his covenant. We
-
sang about today, healing. God revealed himself
-
as Jehovah Rapha. Then he revealed himself on
-
the mountain. The God would display who he was
-
like a kiln. That the quaking and the shaking
-
and the fire on the mountain and the voice of
-
the Lord that would come, that all of God's people
-
were supposed to hear. And it's at that moment.
-
that they turned and said, we don't want to hear
-
his voice. Let somebody else go up before us.
-
And they moved from a platform of actually being
-
able for every one of them to encounter the Lord,
-
to move to a, if I could say this, a caste system
-
where they would just depend on somebody else's
-
words. And then they said this, Moses, you go
-
up and whatever you say, we will do. Lie, lie,
-
lie, lie, lie. That didn't last only but a few
-
weeks. And then what did they come? As they came
-
out of that place where God wanted to actually
-
reveal his voice, his power, and his authority
-
to them, they came into a place, into a desert,
-
into a place called Rephidim. And this is where
-
Their trust was to actually let down, not let
-
go. There's a big difference between letting
-
go and letting down. Letting down in trust means
-
what? It's a picture of Hebrews chapter four.
-
It's the rest of faith. It's the place where
-
you so trust God in who he is. that you can now
-
cease from striving and put your whole allegiance
-
on his ability to perform what he said he was
-
due. And God was taking them from what? From
-
slavery to now salvation, to water baptism, to
-
in that principle of healing through a type and
-
shadow of a cross. to now a place of drinking
-
sweet waters and to a place of Rephidim, even
-
though there was no water there, God was already
-
in the waiting for provision. It was, would they
-
trust me in rest or would they not let their
-
spirit relax in God? Would they in their soul
-
be anxious? And instead of... trusting the spirit
-
and letting rest come upon them, they let down
-
in their soul and they begin to puke out complaint.
-
And what are the words? I'm seeing it in my notes
-
here. Jenny says she gets mad at me because I
-
can memorize my page of notes and I can see them
-
on the one side here. It is contentiousness,
-
strife, wrangling. chiding, disputing with God.
-
What was meant to be a place of rest, surrender,
-
and receiving strength became a place of striving,
-
contending, wrangling. And now you have to understand
-
this. Take this first in your heart. It wasn't
-
just verbally first. Verbally, it came out because
-
if you read the text in Exodus, and I'm quoting
-
from Exodus 17 verses one through seven. If you
-
want to know where we're at in the scriptures,
-
I'm just looking at that verse right there in
-
my mind and I'm reading it as I'm talking about
-
it. They said they immediately turned, they turned
-
to Moses. How are you doing? Good. Awesome. That
-
a boy. You did good on the camera today. All
-
right. I'm telling you, Jane, I'm going to embarrass
-
you a little bit. I'm just saying, I would have
-
never come to the front row like that, but there
-
is a strength and a grace that's on your life
-
that's attracting something here. I'm just saying.
-
All right. Welcome to Life Bible Matchmaking.
-
All right. No, I'm messing with you. All right,
-
so. All right, let me get back up here because
-
I can just see some staring happening at me.
-
All right, now I'm messing with you guys. So
-
think about this for a second. The response was,
-
Moses, you led us out here. Why do you think
-
that came out of their soul? We don't. Often
-
think about this. You did this to us. You did
-
this to us. Now listen. Prior to God showing
-
himself with the plagues, Moses came by himself,
-
in essence, and Aaron, and they were the only
-
witnesses of the Lord. And therefore, Because
-
Israel didn't know their God, they were listening
-
to the messengers and they got upset with the
-
messengers when the situation got harder and
-
worse. But when God revealed himself now 10 times,
-
then when God revealed himself through the waters
-
of baptism, then when God revealed himself through
-
healing, and then when God revealed himself through
-
the mountain, they no longer had the right to
-
begin to point at Moses and Aaron saying, you
-
did this to us. Fact is, the cutoff line was
-
at the mountain where God came down to speak
-
and reveal himself to all. God gave them the
-
chance for all of them to turn in their badge
-
of complaining against men. To encounter him
-
and have a relationship with him. Here's what
-
happens. My God, help me, help me. It's the same
-
in the New Testament. That if you do not embrace
-
the presence of the Holy Spirit and the anointing,
-
you get what we talked about in Stephen's message
-
in Acts 7. You get stiff -necked. Hard hearted.
-
And you resist the moments in time. That God
-
wanted to reveal himself to you. And show himself
-
to be a personal God. Of provision. Of rest.
-
Of faith. And of strengthening you for the next
-
stage. And the reason that they came to Rephidim.
-
And instead of resting in the spirit and spreading
-
out and enjoying, if you will, a leisurely camp
-
along the way and trusting God is because they
-
refused God on the mountain and did not want
-
to actually engage with holiness and with his
-
perspective. They wanted to be able to have,
-
hear me, I know this is getting, I'm kind of
-
just smacking lime drives here this morning.
-
They wanted someone else to complain about so
-
they could keep their own perspective. They weren't
-
ready to trade it in. Now, why this is so important
-
is at Rephidim, even in the midst of their complaint
-
against Moses, It wasn't Moses. Their complaint
-
was with God. But it's really hard. Please hear
-
me. There's some revelation being released right
-
now. There's some people that God is dealing
-
with right now. It's really hard just to take
-
the straight truth of saying my complaint is
-
really with God. We don't want to actually just
-
put it down in a column and put it in black and
-
white. We would rather have Little off -ramps.
-
I mean, have you ever come back from Highway
-
58 and you're following somebody that hasn't
-
had a revelation of the speed limit? And you
-
are behind them and you're thinking, for the
-
last 12 miles you have seen me. You've seen me
-
move close. You've seen me flash my lights. You've
-
seen me praying in tongues, lifting one hand
-
on the steering wheel over your vehicle. And
-
then, in all the wisdom of the Oregon Department
-
of Transportation, they decide to only put 100
-
yards of passing lane. You have to have a jet
-
-fueled dragster. To pass on some of these turnouts.
-
And invariably what happens? They speed up 15
-
miles an hour. It's like. I have called out more
-
demonic spirits on that stretch of road. You
-
foul spirit of driving. Jenny's like. Why do
-
you, why? Anyways, she just leaves me alone now
-
after 33 years of marriage. She realizes I'm
-
not going to change his talking to the vehicle
-
in front of him. And why did I give that story?
-
Because what happens is there is a moment that
-
you have in times where God's spirit comes. that
-
you have to be ready to make a decision. There
-
comes points where God comes to change something
-
in your heart that you didn't see. And you have
-
to be willing to leave the lane you were in and
-
you actually have to move in faith and bypass
-
where you've been to get to where you're supposed
-
to be. You see, I actually have to be ready to
-
move out of that lane and to move forward as
-
fast as I can at that statement. Why? Because
-
there's only moments where God comes to partner.
-
Now, it doesn't mean that God can't change me
-
every day anyway. Yes, that's true. But there
-
are times, now hear me, I'm speaking prophetically,
-
there are times of acceleration that are in the
-
heart of the Father to leapfrog you in front
-
of what may take years. if you'll be willing
-
to embrace new mindsets that he's trying to show
-
you. If you don't, if you don't, you'll stay
-
behind the person that has no revelation of the
-
speed limit in the spirit. You'll stay on the
-
slow journey and the stuff will keep frustrating
-
you. You have to be willing to let that go. and
-
to embrace the things of the Spirit. Are you
-
there? Now, this is so important. At Rephidim,
-
after they complained against Moses, complained
-
against him, what did God do? In the midst of
-
the complaint, in the midst of all of it, God
-
says, Moses, take your staff, the one that you
-
held over to the Red Sea. Now listen, he didn't
-
put his staff in the waters that were bitter
-
at Marah. God had brought a new revelation. The
-
cross, it was a picture of the tree, of the cross
-
going in the water. It was a picture that the
-
cross provided everything for healing. God would
-
reveal himself in one of his first covenant names,
-
Rapha, Jehovah Rapha. He manifested himself as
-
healing of the waters, healing of the people.
-
I'll put none of the diseases that were on you
-
from slavery and bondage. I'm Jehovah Rapha.
-
He didn't have Moses put his staff over that.
-
Moses' staff was last used out of the 10 plagues
-
and the last time he used the staff from that
-
point forward until we get to Rephidim was what?
-
Over the waters. Stretch your hand over the water.
-
Because the staff always represented what? The
-
anointing that was on God's selection of who
-
he chose. You'll see that all the way through.
-
Even as we get... In the journey of the generation
-
that did not go into the promised land and that
-
stayed with the second generation and we get
-
to numbers, what do we see in number 16 with
-
Korah, Dathan, and Abiram? Whose stick or staff
-
blossomed, not only budded, blossomed and produced
-
almonds in the presence of the Lord was a threefold
-
sign of God's selection that Moses had nothing
-
to do with picking himself. God picked him. And
-
God anointed him and God set him in the place
-
of intercessory but yet leading people as a set
-
man. Now why am I saying that? Because Moses
-
wasn't looking for places to use his staff. And
-
I'm thinking as I put myself in the scriptures
-
going if the revelation of God doing other things
-
and I'm just now just that's what God used before.
-
Moses is thinking there's new revelation and
-
he's just walking in it. Now in the midst of
-
complaint, in the midst of what God anointed
-
him to do, he had to do what? God says, now go
-
take the staff that I've anointed and strike
-
the rock and let the waters flow. Now this is
-
not the second time. Now this is amazing passage
-
of scripture because if you'll understand why
-
this is so significant. This place called Rephidim
-
was twice where God led the children of Israel.
-
This is the first time. Second time is where
-
Moses struck the rock twice. First time is where
-
he struck the rock the first time and the revelation,
-
now please hear me, the revelation came in striking
-
the rock was in the midst of complaint. In the
-
midst of grumbling, in the midst of chiding,
-
in the midst of wrangling and contention of the
-
soul that should have been a place of rest in
-
the spirit, God revealed himself as the rock
-
who would release waters to satisfy thirst. And
-
he did it not by speaking, but by the staff that
-
he put in Moses' hand. He did it, and you ready
-
for this? Through the anointing. That's what
-
the staff represents. The staff represents the
-
anointing. It's the anointing that breaks the
-
yoke, the Bible says. It's the anointing that
-
causes signs, wonders, and miracles. It's what
-
we looked at. In Acts chapter two, why it was
-
so important that everyone received the Holy
-
Spirit. Why? Because the anointing is not just
-
going to come upon a few people. It's going to
-
come and fill you on the inside so that what
-
God has chosen on you, you can begin to use the
-
power of God as it walks with you and break out
-
in the realm of the supernatural. But Moses was
-
a type and shadow of a leader that would walk
-
in the power of the anointing and God would.
-
Use that to say, now strike me, or if you will,
-
strike me so that what is needed can flow to
-
the people. Now we know that that striking once
-
represents. The cross. He already had a definition
-
of the cross that came to heal the waters, but
-
the striking represented what? A lot of people
-
think or commentators believe it was the final
-
sword to the heart, or not sword, spear to the
-
heart in Jesus where blood and water flowed.
-
But in the rock, 1 Corinthians chapter 10 makes
1 Corinthians 10 chapter mention
-
a pretty serious statement. He said, As you go
-
through 1 Corinthians 10, I suggest you read
-
all the verses, at least one through 15. It says
-
that as they all went through the plagues and
-
they all went through the waters and they all
-
went through the mountain and they all ate the
-
same bread and drank the same spiritual food,
-
that the rock that gave them water followed them.
-
It was from Rephidim that the rock followed the
-
children of Israel 30 times. eight more years.
-
Now think of that. That's a New Testament scripture.
-
The rock at Rephidim is where they had the revelation
-
that the rock will give water and they had the
-
revelation setting out from Rephidim that the
-
rock was going to follow them. That was one of
-
the reasons when they came back to the place
-
to learn their lesson again. almost 37 years
-
later, that Moses ended up failing the test.
-
The people did too, but Moses failed the test
-
because he did not discern the atmosphere and
-
he got upset at the people's response. Because
-
God has a different standard, hear me, for leaders
-
than he does the people. He has a standard for
-
all his people, but leaders are doubly accountable.
-
And that's why Paul says, and this is where he
-
gets it, you should not, many of you should not
-
become teachers for you have a stricter standard.
-
Why? That's why Moses didn't hollow God in the
-
eyes of the people. Meaning what? He disobeyed
-
in the slightest and that disobeying in the slightest
-
actually removed him from his final promise.
-
God was willing to deal with the people and have
-
a little more grace with the people than he was
-
with the leaders. Let me say that again. We don't
-
hear this often in church, but it's biblically
-
and it can be proven over and over. God has more
-
grace with people that are not in leadership
-
than he does with people in leadership. Why?
-
Because he's gonna hold leadership accountable
-
for what they teach, what they hear and say that
-
God is saying. And it is, they are going to be
-
judged according to not only how they live their
-
life like everyone else lived their life, but
-
now how they led and how they modeled and how
-
they led people in faith to mature in the process
-
of growing. That's why God wouldn't let Moses
-
in is because after 38 years of interceding and
-
pleading and getting God's grace for the people
-
and seeing it, at the end, he snapped. Why? Because
-
he had a grudge in his heart toward them. And
-
he went back to, oh man, if I could just, I know
-
it's a complicated passage, but just hear me.
-
Rephidim was the place where you either let out
-
your faith and your trust in God or you let out
-
what was in your soul. 38 years later, Moses
-
came into the same atmosphere and got stuck by
-
letting out his soul. And if you're called to
-
be a leader and God's operating in leadership
-
with you, you have a responsibility. Now here's
-
the great news. You're all leaders. You're called
-
to lead. If you're single, you're called to lead
-
your life with the Holy Spirit in partnership.
-
If you're married. You're leading as heirs of
-
grace together. If you have a family, you're
-
a leader. If you have a life group, you're a
-
leader. If on and on and on and on, you're in
-
what? As Jethro, Moses' father -in -law said,
-
there are captains of tens, of fifties, of hundreds
-
and thousands. There is dimensions to leadership
-
and there are capacity to leadership. But he
-
was saying this, at least one in 10 in the old
-
covenant had a responsibility of leading. In
-
the new covenant, once now you have the Holy
-
Spirit, you're all responsible for having a position
-
of leadership. Thank you, preacher. Keep going.
-
You're doing all right. You're doing all right.
-
Now, why is this important? Because the Lord,
-
as the rock, is always releasing water in new
-
places. The journey of 1 Corinthians 10 is referencing,
-
going back into the Bible, every station where
-
they camped. Every station where they camped,
-
the rock released water. You say, well, it's
-
the same water. No, it's not. Every place you're
-
in, that water satisfies something different.
-
Did it come from Jesus, the rock that followed
-
them? Absolutely. And it wasn't just a little.
-
It was enough to take care of, well, the Bible
-
says that 600 ,000 plus men came out of Egypt.
-
That means at the minimum, there was 2 .4 to
-
2 .5, if you count two, three people for every
-
man, a wife and two children. And we know. that
-
there were more than two children in some of
-
those families. On average, 2 million, 2 .5 million
-
people coming out into the desert that the rock
-
moved with them. It's like they would turn around.
-
It's like, there it is, and it's flowing. Every
-
time it would flow, it would bring a satisfaction
-
to the new place you're in. It's a picture. of
-
our Christian life that the word of God is constantly
-
speaking and it is constantly bringing a satisfying
-
of thirst in your heart wherever you're at. The
-
issue with people was what happened to the Israelites?
-
They began to loathe the manna and they took
-
advantage of the water. And when they loathed
-
the manna and they took advantage of not appreciating
-
God's fresh water and fresh manna every day in
-
provision, what did they do? They began to despise
-
the leaders. And it began to be a circular, like
-
a mixing pot that just stirred the turmoil and
-
the tension. And it was over very foolish things
-
when you think about it. It was all the craving.
-
You know what it says? If you boil it down, it
-
was all the craving of the soul. Soulish opinions,
-
soulish mindsets, soulish arguments that meant
-
nothing but actually distracted them from actually
-
being grateful and seeing what God was doing
-
in fresh revelation and fresh provision every
-
time they moved. They didn't move until God realized
-
he got in them in that journey what they needed
-
to get. And then they moved. That's why the Bible
-
says sometimes they camp just for a day and sometimes
-
they stayed in one place for a year. Why? They
-
had to get what God was trying to get through
-
that atmosphere in their heart. You say, why
-
is pastor preaching a message for three quarters
-
of a year? Not because I just think this is great
-
and you're going to eat it. Because God keeps
-
speaking and got it yet. Get it into them. And
-
then I have the responsibility. God, they're
-
going to stone me. Why not just a five week series
-
like everybody else? Did I tell you to build
-
a church like everybody else? No. I told you
-
what I wanted here. And this is what I want.
-
Now, there comes a point in this process as we're
-
looking at the children of Israel of going, okay,
-
God, you've got to bring a revelation. And then,
-
and I can't go into it because of time. Oh, Lord,
-
I can't go into it because of time. So I need
-
a piano player quickly. Thank you. Birthday girl,
-
thank you. What happened after they let their
-
soul down in Exodus 17 was this. The people that
-
belonged to that territory began to take from
-
them. God had brought them into the territory
-
to do what? Because anytime God does something,
-
And you'll find it later when you look at the
-
names that Moses gave the place in Exodus, I
-
believe it's verse seven. And he named the place
-
Masa and Meribah. One means to prove and to test.
-
The other means a place of struggle and contention.
-
What they didn't realize is that as God's people,
-
as we do, we walk on certain ground in the spirit
-
for God to begin to test as we move into the
-
promises that he has for us as a church, because
-
the prophets have been speaking. We're getting
-
prophetic words of what God has for this house,
-
ministries, what we're supposed to do, right?
-
That's happening. God's been speaking all along
-
our 24 -year journey, which means that we're
-
walking ground where God just doesn't He gives
-
it to us, but he's got to make sure that we've
-
actually got it in our heart. That's why he said
-
to Joshua, remember, be strong and courageous.
-
Every place the sole of your foot shall tread,
-
I will give to you. But guess what? They had
-
to actually take it as well and they had to keep
-
it. Part of walking in the spirit is you have
-
to be willing to keep the ground that God gave
-
you so you can steward that ground to go into
-
the next level. If you don't steward the ground,
-
you'll lose behind you what was pivotal to actually
-
keep you in your next stage. And that's what
-
the Amalekites do. The Amalekites were part of
-
that old territory that God brought Israel in
-
to break the spirit of getting stuff ripped out
-
of them. What did Amalek, when they let their
-
soul out, what did Amalek do? He tacked from
-
behind the weak, the feeble. And then he faced
-
off against Israel. Why? That's when the strength
-
of the soul is facing the spirit of God. And
-
we have to decide, am I going to yield to the
-
things of the spirit or am I going to keep what
-
I think should be done or is right or my opinion
-
or my thought? Oftentimes. We run into atmospheres
-
after growing, and especially after high mountaintop
-
experiences, we come off of a conference of all
-
that God said, all that God does, all that God
-
reveals, and now there comes a time of testing
-
right after. How many felt a little backlash
-
immediately after the conference that things
-
got a little, it's like it was so good, and then
-
it's like somebody just turned the lights off.
-
All of a sudden, I had to fight through an atmosphere
-
and not go back to the old way of thinking. Like
-
for those that receive healing, let me just make
-
it practical. They had to what? Believe that
-
God touched them and began to confess. Not just
-
in the presence of the Holy Spirit, the atmosphere,
-
everybody's faith that's in the room. Now by
-
themselves in their own bedroom, they had to
-
fight the thoughts and they had to say, no, I'm
-
keeping my healing. I'm going to contend for
-
my healing. That's a Rephidim moment. That's
-
a Rephidim. If I brought the whole service down
-
to that, that's what I'm talking about. I'm talking
-
about or a new mindset where God begins to reveal.
-
Am I gravitating towards stiff neck, stubborn
-
will, or am I actually allowing the spirit of
-
God to move me into a place of rest and confidence
-
and trust that what he said he is going to do
-
and I'm going to partner with him. And I can
-
trust what I see the fruits around me. of God's
-
people and this family and the leadership team.
-
Why? I see the evidence of it and I'm not gonna
-
allow the ticky -tack things just to make me
-
go undone. Are you there? Can I pray with you
-
this morning? Okay. Thank you. Can we have a
-
more bolder prayer thing? Yeah. There we go.
-
Father, in Jesus' name. Whoever's the MC can
-
come on up. Father, in Jesus' name, I thank you
-
this morning. Lord, as we kind of trying to sum
-
up the conference in a different way, Lord, I
-
thank you for the scriptures that are written.
-
Lord, I quote 1 Corinthians chapter 10. It says,
1 Corinthians 10 chapter mention
-
these things were written. For us on whom the
-
end of the ages have fallen. Lord you brought
-
these things to remind us. That these stories
-
are not stories. They are accounts of truth.
-
And that same spirit that they walked into. We
-
can walk into and defeat. We don't have to allow
-
ourselves to keep wandering. And coming back
-
to the same place over and over. I'm asking this
-
morning. As your word is declared. of the blood,
-
of the water, and of the oil is here to cause
-
us to go over, cause us to bring us into a new
-
place. That's what it means. Lord, let the Rephidim,
-
the place that we're at right now, in the Spirit,
-
the place where we spread out. And recognize
-
the goodness of God. And allow the rest of the
-
spirit of God. To say our God is faithful. He's
-
revealed again his purposes. And we take that
-
strength and courage. Into our heart in this
-
moment. For the next stages and steps in the
-
journey. That is what I pray. Over every family.
-
Over every person. Over every heart and mind.
-
In this church. In Jesus holy name. And everybody
-
said. Amen. God bless you. Lastly, if you are
-
in need of prayer send us a text message at 541
-
-625 -1365. We would love to pray with you.
