  1. Welcome to the Life Bible Church podcast. We

  2. want to thank you for joining us today, and we

  3. hope you find today's sermon impacting as you

  4. listen to it wherever you are in your daily walk.

  5. To find service times and watch messages online,

  6. see our website at lifebiblechurch .org. Now,

  7. enjoy this week's message. Father, we ask you

  8. now that you would help me begin to release the

  9. word that you have. For your church today. Lord

  10. you love your people. You love this house. And

  11. Lord I'm asking now. By the spirit of the Lord.

  12. That you would breathe. Lord as we dealt. Lord

  13. even at your altar. Where you're breaking things

  14. that hinder. You're breaking off the mind. Of

  15. the prodigal. That constantly reverts back. To

  16. what I did. And the shame. Lord that's done today.

  17. Lord, let a new understanding come. Lord, even

  18. what happened this past weekend for this church.

  19. Lord, help us, guide us, walk us through. Lord,

  20. we would have an understanding of the seasons

  21. and the timing that we're now walking with as

  22. you're leading this church to fulfill your promises

  23. you've made to us. Help us grab them, believe

  24. them, and walk in them. In Jesus Christ's holy

  25. name. Amen. Amen. Would you tell the band they

  26. did a great job this morning? All right. Praise

  27. God. Well, so much to share, and I've got about

  28. half hour to do it here. So I probably won't

  29. get to many of my notes today because I feel

  30. like I need to kind of prophetically, if I can,

  31. begin to move us in. In fact, this call, and

  32. if you would come and just move this. table just

  33. right down here. I'm going to come down and pray.

  34. I mean, and preach just down a little bit to

  35. you. Sometimes when you guys are all scattered

  36. out and it's not very, we got half a service

  37. here as far as least attendance. I want to come

  38. down and get a little closer because I feel like

  39. I'm far away. So we're in our same series called

  40. the Something More Church. And I think it's important

  41. for us to understand that when When we as Life

  42. Bible Church, and I'm just speaking now as family

  43. and as your senior pastor, when... These times

  44. in God come. And especially as we've prepared

  45. our heart to fast and to pray three weeks saying,

  46. God, we want more of you. We want more of your

  47. presence. We want more of your word. We're hungry

  48. and thirsty for you. God doesn't just shine on

  49. those prayers. He doesn't just go, oh, no, you

  50. don't. No, you don't. You say you do, but you

  51. don't. And I'm going to wait until you actually

  52. really do. No, he hears the prayers of his people.

  53. He responds to the faith. And then he brings.

  54. if you will, a grace or a fresh level of bread

  55. to the house. That's the nature of the house

  56. of God is to have fresh bread, bread of his presence,

  57. bread of revelation, bread of insight and understanding.

  58. That's what he brings. And so not just during

  59. the conference, but during the season of the

  60. first year as we set our hearts to... press into

  61. the things of God, God is doing some miraculous

  62. things. Wednesday night, I took about 15, 20

  63. minutes and I kind of just recapped the conference

  64. with the congregation that was here and just

  65. kind of dove into some of the things that took

  66. place and kind of maybe brought some understanding

  67. to a few things. I don't have time to do that

  68. this morning, but what I do want to do is I want

  69. you to understand the importance of what God

  70. is trying to work into this congregation. When

  71. I asked the Lord, this week, Lord, what do you

  72. want to do? What do you want to say? As I was

  73. just wrestling with the Lord of, okay, God, where

  74. do I go from what happened Thursday, Friday,

  75. Saturday, Sunday? What do you want to say? And

  76. I immediately felt like the Lord, I'm getting

  77. a little bit of an echo, David, maybe turn me

  78. down on the monitors back there, brought me to

  79. Exodus chapter 17. Exodus 17. Now, why that's

    Exodus 17 chapter mention

  80. important. I touched a little bit on this and

  81. I went deeper in understanding a certain way

  82. of dealing with the Amalekites. I'm not gonna

  83. deal with that much today on the Amalekites or

  84. who Amalek was or the root of Esau, but I am

  85. gonna deal with... Exodus 17, in the journey

  86. for the something more church. Because I think

  87. you need to understand that when God brings you

  88. from a place through significant breakthroughs

  89. in your journey in Christianity, every time you

  90. get from a place of a high place in God, you

  91. come to another place where you have to allow

  92. the Spirit of God to test you. If you don't allow

  93. that truth of what took place on the mountaintop,

  94. let's say in a high place in God, it isn't in

  95. you if it doesn't stay in the regular journey.

  96. He doesn't just want you to touch it as though

  97. it belongs to somewhere else. He actually expects

  98. you to carry it. He expects you to carry the

  99. high place moments in your life where God reveals

  100. himself to you, where he all of a sudden shows

  101. you that this is capable in my presence. He doesn't

  102. want you to say, well, that was for then and

  103. somebody else. No, he expects that to get in

  104. your heart. That's what he did in John chapter

  105. six. And he did with Philip at the breaking of

  106. the bread. Remember, Jesus knew what he was gonna

  107. do, but he turned to Philip and he said, Philip,

  108. John six, he said, What are we going to do with

  109. all these people? And Philip looked at the crowds

  110. and he looked at the time of day and he said,

  111. Lord, it's going to take more than 200 denarii.

  112. I mean, two thirds of a year's worth of wages

  113. to feed even this people just a little bit. But

  114. Jesus, and it says in the text, John 6, and Jesus

  115. said this to prove what was in Philip's heart.

  116. And that word means when you walk with the Lord

  117. and you begin to see, Great things of God begin

  118. to break place. There comes other times where

  119. you run into circumstances and you run into places

  120. in your life after a high place moment that you

  121. come to a place that you're either going to trust

  122. God at a new level and be in rest and peace because

  123. you've just now learned from what you walked

  124. in or you're going to just kind of get into a

  125. place and the rut that you've always been, and

  126. I'm going to call it this way, you kind of just

  127. undo your belt and just kind of bleh, and you

  128. just kind of just puke out all the negative emotions

  129. and puke out your frustrations, and you get into

  130. a place where you just kind of let down and get

  131. frustrated with life. Has anybody ever done the

  132. latter? Okay, you don't have to raise your hand.

  133. You don't want to be known for that. Okay, I

  134. get it. I've done that a lot. Meaning, I didn't

  135. recognize the place I was stepping into. Now,

  136. let me just bring you a little history with the

  137. children of Israel. Because the Bible says in

  138. 1 Corinthians chapter 10, and you should go back

    1 Corinthians 10 chapter mention

  139. and you should read this because it's very, very

  140. important. 1 Corinthians chapter 10, verses 1

    1 Corinthians 10:1–15

  141. through 15. it begins to list what God did with

  142. the children of Israel. It says, our forefathers

  143. all ate the same spiritual food. They all drank

  144. the same spiritual drink. They came out of Egypt.

  145. They went through the waters of the Red Sea,

  146. which is a type of water baptism. They came out

  147. of that to the mountain of the Lord, which is

  148. a type of Holy Spirit encounter. And they all

  149. went to the place where the bitter waters were

  150. and the tree fell in and God revealed himself

  151. as. Jehovah Rapha. And then they came to this

  152. place. And now we're catching you up to Exodus

  153. 17. They came to a place called Rephidim. And

  154. Rephidim is important that you understand this.

  155. I'm just going to kind of just preach from what

  156. my notes are in my heart because I got it in

  157. my spirit. And so I'm just going to kind of talk

  158. to you. Rephidim means a place where you are

  159. to spread out. A place where you now recognize

  160. either two things. It was meant to actually bring

  161. you rest and peace and confidence in who was

  162. leading you or Rephidim became what it was to

  163. the children of Israel, renamed place that Moses

  164. named, you came to Massah and Meribah. No, no,

  165. no, Moses, they came to Rephidim. No, they didn't.

  166. They didn't do Rephidim. They did Massah and

  167. Meribah. They were supposed to spread out. They

  168. were supposed to relax. They were supposed to

  169. actually have such confidence in God that coming

  170. to a place that did not have any water did not

  171. affect them at all because they understood who

  172. had been leading them, who had been guiding them,

  173. and they moved now from their own works and fear

  174. and anxiety to a place of trust. It was what

  175. Hebrews says in Hebrews chapter four, it was

  176. supposed to be a place of rest, not rest as in,

  177. oh man, I need to catch up on some sleep, but

  178. rest as in, I don't have to strive. I don't have

  179. to worry. I don't have to make something happen

  180. myself. The God in who's covenanted with me actually

  181. will take care of me. It won't be like what I

  182. thought before. Something has changed. God has

  183. covenanted with me personally. I now have been

  184. brought into his family. You see now, why is

  185. this important for the church today? Here we

  186. are in the New Testament to get this understanding

  187. because if we don't understand what the children

  188. of Israel came out of and what they fought through,

  189. Like the scripture says, and I'm just going to

  190. quote it right from first Corinthians 10. I think

  191. it's right in 15 or 17. It says, and these examples

  192. were written down for those on whom the end of

  193. the ages falls. Meaning God made sure. That we

  194. would understand the story, not just the story,

  195. the historical account, the spiritual truths

  196. that came from getting the mindset of slavery,

  197. the mindset of being bound out of the children

  198. of Israel and how God revealed himself. And he

  199. always brings you to a place where there is a

  200. carryover, where you will now leave your old

  201. behind and you'll begin to walk in the power

  202. of new that he guides you in. He said, those

  203. are written down for us. So that's why he says

  204. they ate the same spiritual food. They drank

  205. the same spiritual drink. And he said, but with

  206. many of them, God was not well pleased. And then

  207. he lists the things that they rose up to play,

  208. which is a play on words of they became immoral,

  209. sexually immoral. They grumbled and complained.

  210. And it literally says, and the destroyer. destroyed

  211. them. Read it in the New Testament, ESV. And

  212. the destroyer destroyed them. That word destroyer

  213. is the word Apollyon. It's used in Revelation

  214. and it says, and the king of the bottomless pit,

  215. name in Greek is Apollyon. In Hebrew, his name

  216. is Abaddon. It means that they grumbled and complained

  217. and opened a spiritual link up over their lives

  218. that the destroyer had legal right, even though

  219. they were the children of the living God. Now

  220. that was later on in their journey. The first

  221. thing they came into after the plagues, after

  222. the Red Sea, and then after Jesus healed the

  223. waters is this place called Rephidim. Now this

  224. is important because, let me just take you on

  225. a journey. Are you okay with that? Just kind

  226. of just, you and I are gonna move along together

  227. here. What we don't understand about the plagues

  228. is this. is that many people read the story of

  229. the plagues, but they don't know the nation of

  230. Egypt, nor how the culture of the occult was

  231. tied into the world system that was Egypt. Meaning,

  232. how many... have known this fact that there is

  233. a pantheon of gods in Egypt and that each plague

  234. that God decided to show was a direct shot at

  235. one of the Egyptian deities. How many knew that?

  236. Okay, about a third of us. Meaning that every

  237. plague that was done, the water turning to blood,

  238. the gnats, the flies. the boils, the darkness.

  239. The darkness plague was a direct shot at Ra,

  240. the sun god. The killing of the firstborn was

  241. a direct shot at Pharaoh being the God over all

  242. gods of the country and that he alone had life

  243. and power and that God revealed at every level.

  244. There was Newt, there was Hecate. I mean, I could

  245. go down through the 10 deities of the Egyptian

  246. culture of what they worshiped and the Lord as

  247. sovereign God destroyed at every level, Egypt's

  248. trust in their God. That's why Pharaoh, if you'll

  249. get behind it, that's why Pharaoh called the

  250. magicians and the occultists at every confrontation

  251. with Moses and Aaron is that the occultists were

  252. behind the gods that Egypt worshiped. So you

  253. need to understand something right from the very

  254. beginning. When you understand a world system,

  255. you have to understand that the powers of darkness,

  256. The Bible talks about this. The powers of darkness

  257. and occult power operates in a world system.

  258. That's why the Bible says in Ephesians chapter

  259. two, let me quote it. And the gods of this world

  260. rule over the sons and daughters of disobedience.

  261. That's what it says. I'm just quoting it verbatim.

  262. Meaning what? That a world system that elevates

  263. the flesh, that elevates self -will, always has

  264. a cult power to it because that's how the world

  265. stays in power, manipulates through. through

  266. deception and through power. And if you remember

  267. the children of Israel, they were bound in those

  268. first plagues, the magicians of Egypt or the

  269. occult artists, or it's better if you understand

  270. it, those that operated in dark cradle primitive

  271. power could do the first three signs just like

  272. Jehovah did. They modeled leprosy. When Moses

  273. put his hand in his garment, it became leprous.

  274. When he put it back, they could do that. Moses

  275. threw a staff down and it became a serpent. Guess

  276. what? In the presence and the power of their

  277. gods, they threw their staffs down and theirs

  278. became serpents. The only problem was Moses'

  279. staff, that serpent ate their other staffs. So

  280. he gathered his staff. and all of their other

  281. staffs were swallowed up in it. That's a problem.

  282. If you're an occult artist and a sorcerer, to

  283. have your staff swallowed up by someone else's

  284. ought to bring you a big clue. Uh -oh. Then they

  285. went to the Nile, and he turned the water into

  286. blood, and Pharaoh's occult artists Turned the

  287. water into blood. But the fourth plague, when

  288. the dust turned into gnats, they realized and

  289. they said to Pharaoh, they couldn't do through

  290. their magical arts and their chants and their

  291. sorcery. They actually said, this is not capable.

  292. This can only be done by the finger of God. And

  293. God began to break the power. of occult powers

  294. that were hiding under the world system, one

  295. after another after another, finally to bring

  296. Pharaoh to his knees to realize that he didn't

  297. have the power of life at all. It was the Lord

  298. who had the power to preserve, and it was only

  299. by the blood of the slain lamb that would come

  300. over the doorpost that would bring liberty from

  301. death, and he alone had the power of life. And

  302. so you got to get that in your heart when you're

  303. traveling through this to understand. Then the

  304. next thing they do, God knew what was in his

  305. own people because they had been in slavery 400

  306. years. Remember what God said to Abraham. Remember

  307. after the smoking oven and the burning torch

  308. at that darkness fell and Moses went into a deep

  309. sleep and God said, Moses. I'm going to fulfill

  310. my promises, but your people will go down into

  311. Egypt 400 years, and then I will bring them out

  312. with a mighty outstretched arm. God was fulfilling

  313. the promise he made to Abraham, and as they went

  314. down, and you know the story, Joseph sold into

  315. slavery, came to rise to second command, brought

  316. down Jacob. Jacob had a revelation. Here, Jacob

  317. sees the faithfulness of his father Abraham.

  318. He believed it. And as he's prophesying over

  319. all of his children before he dies, the Bible

  320. says that he picked up his feet and he drew up

  321. his legs and he gave up his breath. He gave a

  322. prophecy to each of his kids right before he

  323. died about their destiny. And then he looked

  324. at Joseph. He looked at the leader and he says,

  325. grabs him by the hand or grabbed him somewhere

  326. and says, do not leave my bones in this place,

  327. but take every part of me to the place that's

  328. been promised. Now I'm gonna say that's a very

  329. prophetic statement. Because even though Jacob

  330. saw his son again almost returned like a type

  331. and shadow from death, even though he saw now

  332. Manasseh and Ephraim that represents fruitfulness,

  333. and he saw the bounty of what God was going to

  334. do and prophesied over them, he refused to allow

  335. his body to stay in Egypt. Why? He didn't want

  336. to be anywhere in what was called the world.

  337. He wanted everything. Everything of him. Even

  338. when he died. To be put in the promises of God.

  339. Something was inside of him that said. Move me.

  340. Even when I'm gone to be in the place. Of the

  341. Lord or Abraham's bosom. You move my bones. And

  342. you bury me. Of where we have an inheritance.

  343. Now that ought to get down inside of you. That

  344. ought to just preach to your own spirit. Saying

  345. I don't want any. part of my life connected to

  346. the world, the systems of this world, or the

  347. gods of this world. Every part of me in my fight

  348. of faith and even in my dying moments, I want

  349. connected to who God is, his promises, and the

  350. promises to my lineage. Right? Okay. Now you're

  351. tracking with me? We're still on the same page?

  352. Okay. Now they move out of Egypt by the outstretched

  353. hand of God. God moves them. He said, I can take

  354. you a shorter way, but if the people see war

  355. right away, they're going to go back into what

  356. they've already known. Now listen, 400 years.

  357. We're going to celebrate 250 years as a nation

  358. on July 4th, representing the 1776 Declaration

  359. of Independence. We are just 250 years as a nation

  360. this year. They were in slavery 400. Now, okay,

  361. I could concede maybe 80 or 100 years of that

  362. because when Jacob passed and then Joseph passed,

  363. it says in the scriptures in Genesis, and then

  364. a Pharaoh arose in Egypt that did not know Jacob

  365. and did not know Joseph. And he said to the people,

  366. these people have, because they went down 70

  367. and they blossomed. I mean, it was like the spirit

  368. of rabbits came on them and they filled the land

  369. of Goshen, right? And it says, they're gonna

  370. overtake us. And so what did Pharaoh do? From

  371. that point on, once Joseph died, they became

  372. slavery. So there was 300, if you will, out of

  373. the 400 years they were there in the land of

  374. Goshen and where they lived, there was over 300

  375. years of bondage. That culture. of their gods,

  376. that culture of slavery, that loss of freedom,

  377. the demands that they would serve Egypt and live

  378. in Egypt was bred into them and there were generations

  379. that were born that had no idea what freedom

  380. and promised land was. So God had to work it

  381. out of them. He does the 10 plagues, destroying

  382. the deities of the nations. He then brings them

  383. a different way. Pharaoh thought they were, he

  384. kind of came to himself for a moment, thought

  385. that they were lost because they'd not been out

  386. of the land of Egypt for 300 plus years. They

  387. could never venture out. Pharaoh wouldn't even

  388. let them go three days journey to go worship.

  389. That was the big fight. They had never been outside

  390. the borders. I mean, just imagine being bound

  391. in Harrisburg for 300 years. It's a scary thing,

  392. right? Never ventured to Corvallis, never ventured

  393. to Eugene, just stayed within the boundary of

  394. one stoplight. Somebody say, that is slavery,

  395. hallelujah. Okay, so God had to what? He had

  396. to bring them back to a place and he brought

  397. them to the Red Sea. He did it to show his power.

  398. They got fearful. Pharaoh went to kill them.

  399. What happened? God. Commanded Moses to stretch

  400. his staff over the Red Sea. Red Sea parted. They

  401. went over on dry land. And then God caused the

  402. armies, the military power, to come back and

  403. flood. And so Exodus 15 is what? Exodus 15 now,

  404. 12 is Passover. 13 and 14 is the journey of the

  405. Red Sea. 15 is Miriam kind of getting her praise

  406. on to Jesus, right? They're dancing with tambourines

  407. and 15 is singing the song of Moses and how the

  408. chariots of Israel and God is a mighty man of

  409. war and he kicked your butt in the Red Sea and

  410. kind of just that kind of the hip hop version

  411. of that song was taking place. Then they start

  412. the journey. And they start the journey out of

  413. the Red Sea and they go to a place called Marah.

  414. Marah means bitter, sour. The waters were bitter.

  415. They couldn't drink it. And so revelation comes.

  416. Well, God had been using Moses' staff all along.

  417. This time he doesn't use Moses' staff. He says,

  418. you put that big dead tree in the water. It was

  419. a symbol of Christ. Soon as the cross hit the

  420. water, what does he say? He revealed himself

  421. as Jehovah. First time he brought another name

  422. other than I am to the children of Israel. I

  423. am now, who was? Jehovah Rapha. I am manifesting.

  424. Who I am, I am healing. And there God said through

  425. his prophets, I will put no longer the diseases

  426. of the people of Israel on you. I am Jehovah

  427. Rapha. I am the God, and that literally says,

  428. I am the God who heals you. That was his next

  429. revelation after water baptism. And as they're

  430. on their way to the mountain, they're on their

  431. way to Exodus 19, to where God would come down.

  432. in fire and in shaking, where God would come

  433. down and want to move them from just having a

  434. representation to now including everyone to come

  435. to the mountain and hear God for themselves.

  436. between 19, which God would reveal himself in

  437. that, they're now at 17. And Exodus 17, one through

  438. seven says this, and they came to a place called

  439. Rephidim. And we say, we look at the meaning

  440. of Rephidim. It means to spread out. It means

  441. to encamp and to allow yourself to be, if you

  442. will, to rest and to receive. But it didn't become

  443. Rephidim to the children of Israel. Why? Because

  444. they weren't aware, now please hear me on this,

  445. they weren't aware of the ground that they were

  446. stepping on was somebody else's that needed to

  447. be redeemed. The ground that they had now come

  448. into was a place that was, quote, owned by the

  449. Amalekites. who are the Amalekites. You're gonna

  450. see this picked up in scripture over and over

  451. and over. And probably this in Exodus is one

  452. of the most key passages to understanding spiritual

  453. warfare, even in the New Testament, even today.

  454. At the end of, I think it's Exodus 17, verse

    Exodus 17:15

  455. 15, it says, and Israel will have war with Amalek.

  456. generation after generation. What happened between

  457. verse one and verse 17 reveals the story. Israel

  458. came into a place that was meant for them as

  459. their walk with God, the healing with God, the

  460. victory of God, the high place with God, walking

  461. in new ground and new authority. They came into

  462. a place that God wanted to call Rephidim. Moses

  463. had to rename it based on their actions. And

  464. you know what he named the place? He named it

  465. Masa and Meribah. And if you look it up, Meribah

  466. is mentioned twice in the Old Testament. Why?

  467. Now, I'm going to use both of you here. Meribah

  468. represents the first generation that comes out.

  469. This is where, sorry, this is where they grumbled.

  470. Meribah means Place of contending. Place of strife.

  471. Place of wrangling. The root Meribah, Mary, means,

  472. I mean, you think of it, there was Mary Bale

  473. that was a place. Mary means a place of wrangling,

  474. contending, and striving. Masa means what? The

  475. place of testing and proving. What was supposed

  476. to be a place of rest and putting their faith

  477. and trust and spreading out and allowing themselves

  478. to grow in God for what God had just revealed

  479. to them through the journeys they'd been in became

  480. now a place of proving, but unfortunately it

  481. became a place of contention, strife, wrangling.

  482. chiding. And it didn't just happen in the first

  483. generation. When you read your Bible and you

  484. come all the way back around to Numbers, as they

  485. get ready, as most of this generation has passed,

  486. and now we're at the second generation, what

  487. happens in Numbers 14? They come back to the

  488. same place called Meribah and the same atmosphere,

  489. same spirit of the land gets on Moses and he's

  490. disqualified from going into the promised land.

  491. You see, the children of Israel were not understanding

  492. what they were walking into. I want to say this

  493. to us. This is maybe my whole message for the

  494. church this morning. Because it's maybe more

  495. for a life Bible understanding here. When we

  496. go through high moments in God, When the prophetic

  497. is activated, God begins to speak and give assignments

  498. to the church. And if you didn't hear the word

  499. of the Lord, basically one of the main theme

  500. of the word of the Lord over this last weekend

  501. was this is a governmental house. Meaning what?

  502. It's a regional apostolic house that has a mandate

  503. to take kingdom authority and extend it in the

  504. territory. Now we've known that. That's been

  505. prophesied over here before, but for the Lord

  506. to keep saying it over and over means one of

  507. two things. One, we're not getting it. Kind of

  508. like the McFly moment. McFly, are you getting

  509. this? This is to be a governmental house. This

  510. is to be a house of authority. This is to be

  511. where people actually operate in kingdom power,

  512. in love, in grace, but understand they have authority

  513. to push territory and to take territory for the

  514. king. Either we didn't understand it or what?

  515. Or that there's been great pushback. and we only

  516. allow it to settle on us for a little while,

  517. we didn't actually tie it down into our heart

  518. and say, this is who I am. And this is who God

  519. called me to be. There's something that happens.

  520. You can, like this, I can put on my blazer here.

  521. And I've seen Jenny do this time after time,

  522. where she'll say, give me your coat, and she'll

  523. just wear it like this. I'm cold. And she'll

  524. just, well, most of the time now she's hot. But

  525. back just a few years ago, she was cold. Okay?

  526. And she would wear the coat like this. Now, if

  527. we needed to go anywhere fast, right, and we

  528. would just run, what would happen? The coat would

  529. fall off. There's a difference between putting

  530. something over your shoulders and putting something

  531. on. And the minute I put something on, now I

  532. can run and it's gonna move with me. It ain't

  533. going anywhere. Okay? Why is that important?

  534. That's what a prophetic word's supposed to do.

  535. It moves to just, it's not just meant to be something

  536. that just comes on you. It's meant to be something

  537. that you actually put on. Now you would say,

  538. well, show me that in scripture. I'm glad you

  539. asked. When Elijah came down from hearing God

  540. again and being recommissioned, the Bible says

  541. that he went down to anoint Elisha. And Elisha

  542. was plowing in the back with 12 oxen. teams of

  543. two. And he was in the back of the line as a

  544. son, as the 12th pair, sucking up, well, listen,

  545. I'm a farmer's kid. If you're plowing with the

  546. 12th set of oxen, you have got a bird's eye view

  547. of 11 other back end of two horses. And that

  548. is not a, it's like, and you are all day, there

  549. is, Pooping and belching out the other end. All

  550. day long. You're eating dirt and you're in horse

  551. dung. And the prophet comes to the son who's

  552. in the last of the 12 and just walks by Elisha

  553. and throws his mantle on him. And then says,

  554. sorry, at least you got hair. Let me help you

  555. there. Man, that feels good. Let me try that

  556. again. Yeah, there you go, there you go. And

  557. Elijah says, wait a minute, wait a minute. And

  558. Elijah turned around. This is a whole nother

  559. message. I don't have time to preach this. What

  560. have I done to you? Well, let me first say goodbye.

  561. Elijah just kept walking. Elisha had to do something

  562. at that moment. Either it would have just been

  563. a moment of, okay, that's my future. No, he stood

  564. up. He killed the oxen. cut up the yoke that

  565. he was on, used it for burnt offering and wood,

  566. burnt those cattle, and then put on the mantle

  567. of Elijah so that he could begin to operate in

  568. the things of the Spirit. And he began to be

  569. trained by the new destiny rather than just have

  570. something touch him and go back to what he was

  571. doing. That was the problem with King Saul. When

  572. the prophet Samuel, I'm giving you another scripture

  573. you asked. When the prophet Samuel anointed Saul,

  574. what did they do when all of a sudden it came

  575. time, the enemies came to fighting? Where did

  576. they find Saul? Back at his dad's house farming.

  577. plowing, and they had to get the one who was

  578. anointed king over that high place where everything

  579. was supposed to change, and Saul reverted back

  580. to something that was familiar, something of

  581. his soul. Now, I know I'm about out of time,

  582. so I need my beautiful 50th year bride. Love

  583. you. Okay. All right, now. So in that reality,

  584. what are we talking about? We're talking about

  585. when God comes and brings you to a high place,

  586. you have a choice. Are you just gonna allow the

  587. word to touch you in that atmosphere? Or are

  588. you gonna allow that word that you're gonna fit

  589. it on over your life and you're gonna put it

  590. on and say, that's who I am. That's the tribe

  591. I've been born into. That's the house I've been

  592. planted. And those are the prophetic words that

  593. need to come and be fulfilled over my life. That

  594. I am going to extend territory. That I am going

  595. to be one who is a kingdom ambassador and I'm

  596. gonna live in the presence and I'm gonna get

  597. rid of things that hinder me from actually communicating

  598. with the Lord and being obedient to how he wants

  599. to use my life every day because that's what

  600. he's asked of me. I'll put it this way and you

  601. can relate. How many have traveled Highway 58

  602. and tried to pass somebody that did not have

  603. a revelation of the speed limit? You can be behind

  604. that person for 12 miles. Why? There's a section

  605. in the brilliance of the Oregon Department of

  606. Transportation. Having no turnout spots. And

  607. then when they do, it's as short as three Yugos.

  608. I mean, literally, you have to be on the person

  609. and ready to jam lanes. And then they invariably

  610. speed up 15 miles an hour right before they get

  611. there. You know, and when Jenny's driving with

  612. me, she's like, she's learned. I talk to them.

  613. What are you doing? Get out of the way. Get over.

  614. Get over. Now listen, the reason I'm telling

  615. this story is because you only have a moment

  616. when you see that passing lane one mile ahead.

  617. You have to position yourself because of the

  618. shortness of that little time frame. You have

  619. to be willing to leave the lane you were in,

  620. pick up the speed that you were traveling in,

  621. and move at all costs to... pass and to forward

  622. yourself in and to leapfrog in front where you're

  623. going to be. You miss that window, guess what?

  624. You're stuck behind the person that doesn't have

  625. the revelation for another journey of who knows

  626. how long. I'm using that example of in the spirit.

  627. We've come to a place. where God's trying to

  628. move you out of your lane and move you into something

  629. that's greater and further to get actually past

  630. where you've been stuck. You have to be willing.

  631. You have to be willing to say, I'm not going

  632. to yield to the old opinions, the old wrangling

  633. of words, the things of how, how just nitpicky

  634. things, striving, contending. And turn your place

  635. of actually what was supposed to be a spreading

  636. out and a growing and a trust in God only to

  637. come back and to have you just let your soul

  638. out and you partnered with the spirit and the

  639. atmosphere. And instead of having a Rephidim

  640. moment where you'd gather yourself and grow in

  641. God, you end up having a Masa and a Meribah moment

  642. where you now had to circle back to the rock

  643. and it took 30 some odd years to get you back

  644. to the same place. Let me tell you something.

  645. I've watched Christians. I've been saved almost

  646. 50 years. And in Christian ministry now, full

  647. time, 32 and a half years. I've watched people

  648. that I've seen stuck for 30 years. God has to

  649. bring them back to the place because they have

  650. to be willing to change lanes and to partner

  651. with the now moment of what he's doing to break

  652. them ahead. That's where we're at as a church.

  653. There is a passing lane that's right now. And

  654. it means what? It's a fresh revelation. It doesn't

  655. mean we, we're not leaving the Bible and we're

  656. not contending for anything that isn't in there.

  657. This is about leaving the stubbornness of our

  658. will and our heart and ticky -tack issues on

  659. how things were done yesterday and other denominations

  660. and other upbringings. And I'm getting that out

  661. of me to say, here I am, move me forward. I want

  662. to go in the things of God and I don't want to

  663. be hindered. How many would say, I could receive

  664. that and that was for me this morning? Can I

  665. pray for you? Just keep your hands lifted as

  666. Tiff comes. Come on, maybe just stand and lift

  667. your hands before the Lord. We're in a great

  668. moment right now. Holy Spirit, we thank you.

  669. We thank you. Lord, we feel and see and have

  670. heard the passing lane is coming now. And Lord,

  671. we don't hang back. We're not gonna be timid.

  672. And Lord, we're not going to stay stuck. We are

  673. going to take our moment. That means we're going

  674. to be led by the Spirit. That means our wineskin

  675. of understanding is not calcified. We choose

  676. the life of the Holy Spirit and we choose to

  677. be redirected and catapulted into the timing

  678. that you have for this place. Let the Spirit

  679. of God move us forward. Let my life bring fruit

  680. to you for glory. that which was prophesied this

  681. morning, alignment, obedience, and maturity.

  682. Let it come, the fruit for your glory and for

  683. your kingdom in Jesus' holy name. And everybody

  684. said, amen. Come on, hallelujah. Amen, amen.

  685. Thank you for taking the time to listen to this

  686. week's message. We are so grateful for those
