  1. Welcome to Transformation Church Podcast, where we represent God to

  2. the lost and found for transformation in Christ. We're so

  3. glad you're here and wherever you're listening from, we believe

  4. God will transform your life.

  5. Do today's message turn to John sixteen, verse thirty three.

  6. John sixteen, verse thirty three. This word gonna be tight,

  7. and it's gonna be right. I'm gonna get you out

  8. of here, but I gotta deliver this word because some

  9. of y'all are very triggered. After all that praising, after

  10. all that worshiping, one thing could happen after this that

  11. turned all that shouting into sinning. Y'all want to be honest.

  12. I don't want to I don't want to kill your joy,

  13. but I want to be real about it. Okay, how

  14. many people have just finished reading a Bible, just finished print,

  15. and then thirty minutes later, it ain't even thirty minutes later,

  16. and you in some foolishness you ain't supposed to be in.

  17. You're watching something that got you feeling some type of way.

  18. You're saying some things. Where's the authentic church? This morning?

  19. All right? Has anybody had a great Sunday morning and

  20. a wild Sunday night, not on Sunday. Has anybody just

  21. finished telling your kids how much you love them? And

  22. then they do one thing, turn over one cup with

  23. liquid in it, do whate and literally the whole tide

  24. can change. It's because what I've found out is that

  25. many of us are living our lives very close to

  26. the edge. We don't have much margin. Watch this for

  27. anybody's mess ups. If you don't bother me, I'll make it.

  28. And if I'm not late, I'll make it. And if

  29. you tell me my outfit is nice, I'll make it.

  30. And if you lie to me when I tell you

  31. to tell me the truth, I'll make like. It exposes

  32. that as believers, I'm not even talking about people who

  33. don't know God. I'm talking about people who have a Bible,

  34. listen to podcasts, worship to elevation worship. Why are you

  35. so close to the edge? Why are you so triggered?

  36. Why are you so close to a crashed out? And

  37. most of us have not taken a pause? Somebody say pause,

  38. We haven't taken a pause for his presence to shine

  39. a light on what he needs to change in us.

  40. We are so ready for others to change that we

  41. will not say, God, I know them, but what about me?

  42. And so in John I see God being as real

  43. as he can be with his sons and daughters, and

  44. he's talking to the disciples and talking to all the

  45. people at the time. And I love this about Jesus

  46. because he does not want to bait and switch us.

  47. He doesn't want to paint this picture that everything's gonna

  48. be perfect and everything's gonna be fine. I'm doing worry.

  49. I'm gonna save you from everything. He says. I rather

  50. tell you the truth so you can learn how to

  51. handle it. And this is what he says. He says,

  52. I have told you these things so that you may

  53. have peace. So the whole reason God is about to

  54. say what he's about to say in human form as Jesus,

  55. it is because he said the outcome is peace. But

  56. let me tell you the truth. In this world you

  57. will have trouble. It could be said, in this world

  58. you will be triggered. In this world you will deal

  59. with trauma. He is being honest. Watch this so that

  60. we learn how to handle You cannot handle anything you're

  61. not honest about. There's some of us that won't admit

  62. there's a problem. So we never ever deal with it.

  63. Some of y'all so scared to go to the doctor

  64. because you thought that prayer healed you when you actually

  65. could be healed by something that God created to help you.

  66. But you don't want to know the truth. I bind

  67. hot blood pressure in the name of Jesus. You still

  68. about the dog like just because you bind it doesn't

  69. mean that them levels a But you won't be honest.

  70. So you would rather live in an illusion and delusion

  71. than be delivered. So today search in week two of

  72. this triggered series where we're putting Christ in the middle,

  73. in the center of our crash outs, I want to

  74. just lay a little more foundation so you can know

  75. what to do if you find yourself watch this in

  76. the middle of a crash out. Crashing out right now,

  77. are about to walk into a crash out, he says.

  78. I'm telling you you're gonna have trouble, but take heart,

  79. because I've overcome the world. Write this down as a point.

  80. Exposing the problem is a prerequisite to true peace. You

  81. will never have true peace until we expose the problem.

  82. You can keep going to those family gatherings and act

  83. like that uncle is not an issue, and nobody in

  84. the family's gonna talk about it, and we just that's

  85. just uncle JJ and that's just Uncle j J and

  86. not just uncle JAJA. And we've excused it for years

  87. after years after years after years. But until there's actual

  88. conversation about the problem, there won't be any true peace

  89. until you deal with the issues that you are feeling

  90. and the anxiety that you're walking into. When you walk

  91. into certain you can act like you have true peace,

  92. but not the one that God's given because he's saying,

  93. what the trigger's not supposed to rob your peace. The

  94. trauma's not supposed to rob your peace. It's not supposed

  95. to take it away. And that's why we're saying this

  96. as the premise of this entire series. Unaddressed triggers usually

  97. lead to a crash out. Some of y'all been holding

  98. on for thirty two years. You ain't crashed out for

  99. thirty two years, and you think for some reason that

  100. it will never happen because it haven't happened yet. Have

  101. you ever heard of a midlife crisis that is also

  102. a crashout? When you literally take everything that you've been

  103. working for building towards and people, there's an epidemic of

  104. men and women just leaving their relationships thirty eight years married.

  105. It's like, dang, you should elite you are you close

  106. to the end? You should really stay to see what

  107. the end gonna be. But they're having these crash outs

  108. in these moments of losing it because it's watched this

  109. unaddressed today, I'm asking you what are you carrying that

  110. you've never addressed? You don't got to tell me. But

  111. I have a one more follow up question. Is it heavy?

  112. Is it making you slower? Does it make you hesitate

  113. when it's time for you to step into what God says?

  114. Do you?

  115. I don't know? Do you have to drag some more

  116. stuff in? Well, let me give you the promise of God.

  117. In Matthew, chapter eleven, verse twenty eight, it says, then

  118. Jesus said, come to me, all of you who are weary,

  119. that means full of toil, full of tension, full of

  120. back and forth, he said, And those who carry heavy burdens,

  121. which means unwarranted thought patterns. How many of us have

  122. unwarned in thought patterns? Why am I even thinking that?

  123. Why am I even going down that trail? I heard

  124. last night a little kid in our church saw the

  125. lightning and their parents had to convince them for tons

  126. of minutes that they weren't gonna die because they went

  127. down a whole trail of how that lightning's gonna kill

  128. them in that house. And it may be trivial, but

  129. how many of us go down unwarranted. Probably they don't

  130. even like me. They didn't even know you was there. Cappy,

  131. y'all understand what I'm saying. How many stories have we

  132. told ourselves? How many things have we disqualified ourselves from

  133. because of our own insecurity? God said, if you're doing

  134. all that stuff, come to me and I'll trade you.

  135. I will give you. Say this word with me, it's

  136. a four letter word, say rest. Take my yoke upon you.

  137. Let me teach you because I am humble and gentle

  138. at heart, and you will find rest for your souls,

  139. that your mind will and emotions. For my yoke is

  140. easy to bear. And the burden I'm gonna give you

  141. it's like, so if you're walking around heavy, God says, today,

  142. I want you to trade me. This week has been

  143. a week full of evaluation. For anybody who was here

  144. or watched last week's sermon, how many people been evaluating

  145. your triggers this past week. Yeah yeah, yeah yeah, and

  146. we're gonna keep doing it for the next nine ten weeks.

  147. We not letting. I'm pushing the gas on this thing

  148. until somebody gets transformed. Okay, but this is the first

  149. point that I would want to make to everybody in here,

  150. as you've been talking about your triggered all week, and

  151. you've been telling your kids stop doing that because I'm fired,

  152. and some of y'all been telling your coworkers and even kids.

  153. My kid's been using it all week, Dad, that triggers me. Okay, cool,

  154. you listen to the message. Let me say this. Everything

  155. is not a trigger now. No. I just introduced the

  156. concept last week, and I'm not gonna tear the whole

  157. thing down, but I need us to bring us into

  158. some clarity. Everything is not a trigger. Me and my

  159. wife was talking and she was like, Mike, some people

  160. aren't triggered, they just have a pet peeve. And I

  161. was like, m girl, you look fine when you start

  162. defining my message as well, and she said, like, smacking,

  163. that is not a trigger. Smacking is a pet peeve

  164. because a pet peeve is about preference. I would rather

  165. you not do that, but it's not really attached to

  166. a trauma. And some of us have been asking God

  167. to deal with a pet peeve when he's requiring maturity

  168. from you. Okay, okay, okay, okay. Let me say it

  169. like this. Many of the things you're labeling a trigger

  170. are actually trivial. This ain't no trigger, an this is

  171. an exposing of your lack of emotional maturity. You're not triggered.

  172. You just ain't got no room for nobody else to

  173. do something you don't like. You are living with no

  174. capacity in your life. So when they do something that

  175. is a different preference than you, it kits you over

  176. and I'm triggered. No, you're emotionally unstable.

  177. You don't have any maturity.

  178. We can disagree on a movie. I know people who

  179. will crash out over the rating of a movie. You

  180. didn't think Black Panther was the best movie you ever made. No,

  181. this is not me, because don't in the comments. I'm

  182. not saying that. I'm just saying and at the moment

  183. of a preference difference, because I have made no room

  184. for you to have a difference of opinion, I let

  185. my pet peeve be the thing that causes division. So

  186. watch this pet peeve is just an invitation for me

  187. to emotionally mature. If they do something that is not

  188. my preference, I do not have to respond in a

  189. way that ruins my witness. Hear what I just said.

  190. If what they do is not my preference, I do

  191. not have to respond. I can have the emotional and

  192. spiritual capacity to let you do that and not get

  193. a rise of me that ruins my witness. And there

  194. are too many people right now that are letting their

  195. preference wouin their future purpose. Some of y'all need to

  196. scrub your whole social media accountants because somebody's gonna pull

  197. them back up one day when you have another level

  198. of platform, and they're gonna be like January sixth, two

  199. thousand and two, this is what Jerry Heismeyer said and

  200. a moment Wouins are witness for a lifetime. Passor Mike,

  201. why are you saying this? Because there are real things

  202. we need to deal with and they are the triggers.

  203. But please don't get caught up on the petty because

  204. some of y'all been all week I'm triggering. Stop is

  205. it really attached to a trauma or is that an

  206. opportunity for you to mature? Okay, all right, they don't

  207. want to hear the real today, so I'm gonna have

  208. to keep going. Okay. Ezra Chapter three, verse ten, I'm

  209. gonna share a story with you, and I hope it

  210. leads into the next layer of our transformation. It says

  211. when the builders laid the foundation of the Temple of

  212. the Lord, the priests and their vestments and their trumpets,

  213. and the Levites the sons of Asaf were symbols, took

  214. their places to praise the Lord, as prescribed by David,

  215. the King of Israel, with praise and thanksgiving. They sang

  216. to the Lord, he is good, his love towards Israel

  217. endures forever. And all the people gave great shouts to

  218. the Lord. Because the foundations of the House of the

  219. Lord was laid. But many of the older priests watched this,

  220. and the Levites and family heads, the Ojs, who had

  221. seen the former temple had seen what it used to be,

  222. wept aloud when they saw the foundations of this temple

  223. being laid, while many others shout voted for joy. No

  224. one could distinguish the sound of the shouts of joy

  225. from the sounds of weeping. Some were weeping, some were shouting,

  226. some were celebrating, others were crying. And it said you

  227. couldn't distinguish them because the people hadn't made so much noise,

  228. and the sound was heard far away. I want to

  229. start with this thought, two things can be true at

  230. the same time. I'm trying to increase your capacity today.

  231. Two things can be true at the same time. Say

  232. it with me. Two things can be true at the

  233. same time. The ogs who had been in the Promised

  234. Land doing everything that God had called them to do,

  235. then were taken out of this place of home and

  236. drug to Babylon, and they were there for seventy years

  237. and had to literally lose their language, lose their culture,

  238. lose their names, and conform to this new way of living.

  239. They get freed and go back to the beautiful place

  240. that they used to live in, But it didn't look

  241. like what it used to look like. Y'all remember Solomon's temple.

  242. It was so beautiful and so intricate, and certain types

  243. of wood and gold. It was so beautiful that when

  244. people came it took their breath away. Now they're coming

  245. back to a place that used to be a sign

  246. of beauty, and now the foundation is being laid again.

  247. Follow me, I'm going somewhere. The young men who were

  248. born in captivity, their parents and friends might have died

  249. in captivity in Babylon. This is the first time they free.

  250. So they come and they're seeing Solomon's where Solomon's temple

  251. was for the first time. This is the first time

  252. they able to turn up without nobody's They are celebrating

  253. because it's true what I've heard about all these years.

  254. I've never seen with my own eyes. But this is

  255. where my ancestors were. This is where David was and

  256. his son Solomon. This is beautiful and one moment triggered

  257. two responses. Have you ever been in a moment where

  258. everybody else's response wasn't your response? Have you ever been

  259. in a moment where somebody is shouting for joy while

  260. you are weeping about what it used to be. I

  261. want to let you know that this is a principle

  262. that God wants to teach us about capacity. Because some

  263. were triggered to cheer while others were triggered to cry,

  264. Some were filled with celebration while others were filled with sorrow.

  265. You want to see this in real time? Just turn

  266. on football today and when one of the teams scores,

  267. half the stadium is like God, and there's a guy

  268. with the beer belly and he has his shirt off

  269. and he has the team painted on it. And then

  270. on the other side they're like, oh no, you can

  271. see it in real time. And what we hear on

  272. TV is just cheers. But some are crying and some

  273. are filled with sorrow. Because two things can be true

  274. at the same time. And what I want to let

  275. you know is the goal of the Christian life. Watch

  276. this is to grow in our emotional capacity. What if

  277. the ogs started crying and the young people is like,

  278. what's wrong with y'all? Man? Shut up, bro. We made

  279. it out. They had to have capacity to celebrate and

  280. let their tears still fall. They're the same people group,

  281. but they're looking at something and it triggers two different emotions.

  282. Please don't let your celebration rob them of their tears.

  283. I'm trying to teach y'all. If y'all can read between

  284. the lines, I need y'all to know this is a

  285. word for our culture right now. Don't let their tears

  286. rob you of your celebration because two things can be true.

  287. That just went over everybody's head. That's why Romans twelve fifteen.

  288. I'm about to teach this thing. It says, as a believer,

  289. we should rejoice with those who reach you. I don't

  290. even gotta be happy about what you're rejoicing with. But

  291. I have the emotional capacity to rejoice with you, because

  292. my Christian life is not at the edge. I'm fool

  293. enough to have room to rejoice with you. I didn't

  294. get the blessing, but you did. Glory to God. Thank you,

  295. Jesus God, I know you on my street. I thank

  296. you that you're doing a miracle, and that you have

  297. the emotional capacity to rejoice with those who rejoice. And

  298. if you're always mad that God bless somebody else, your

  299. emotional capacity is too small as a believer. And it says,

  300. don't just rejoice with those who rejoice. Watch this one.

  301. It's gonna take big boy drawls. Here we go mourn

  302. with those who I ain't got nothing to cry about,

  303. but somebody I love, somebody I see. If you don't

  304. see those children in the Third World countries out there

  305. begging for food, and if something in your heart is

  306. not broken. You don't have enough emotional capacity. Okay, yeah,

  307. well that ain't happening to me. We need to pray

  308. God break our heart for what breaks yours. Today. I

  309. want to let you know that your capacity is calling.

  310. Matter of fact, make that the title of a discernment.

  311. Your capacity is calling, because some of y'all you are

  312. ruining the calling of God on your life because you

  313. don't have enough capacity. You would never talk to somebody

  314. who differs from you. You don't have enough capacity to it.

  315. That's what's killing Christians today that you can't sit across

  316. for somebody that lives different than you and sit and

  317. listen today's story for fifteen minutes. You ready to interrupt them,

  318. proselytize them. They're just trying to tell you their story

  319. and you have such a little emotional capacity that now

  320. you've listened to them and you're angry it didn't even

  321. happened to you. They're telling you why they don't believe

  322. in God. They're telling you why you why they have

  323. chosen a same sex marriage. They're telling you why they

  324. drink the joy and you getting infuriated why because you

  325. have low emotional capacity and the very person that God

  326. has called you to, he has to rip you away

  327. from because you would do more damage in their life

  328. than bring healing, because you have not expanded to the

  329. place where God could call you into a dark place

  330. so that you could be the light. But I'm telling

  331. you God is about to expand his church. I don't

  332. know who I'm talking to today, but God is saying

  333. it's time that somebody say, stretch. How we gonna reach

  334. the world and we can't stand them? How in the

  335. world are you going to minister to somebody you can't

  336. even take a picture with, You can't even sit across

  337. a dinner table from We're crashing out because our emotional

  338. and spiritual maturity is so fragile. We don't have the

  339. capacity to make room for they issues. I'm not even

  340. saying I want you to stay there. I am a

  341. living witness of what God can do to transform somebody's life.

  342. But I won't even call you back because it's like

  343. I can't talk to them no more. What God sent

  344. you in there to actually be the change agent that

  345. you're getting so triggered, getting so mad, You're getting so frustrated,

  346. and so I just want to show you that it's

  347. time for you to stretch. Most Christians have this level

  348. of emotional capacity. I don't know if you see this

  349. rubber band right here, but this is the rubber band

  350. that keeps my little daughter's braids together. If y'all know

  351. anything about Black Girl magic, these rubber bands right here

  352. are the real MVP. How does that stay together like that?

  353. This right here? But the truth of the matter is

  354. it's very small. This doesn't have much capacity. So when

  355. you come and you get triggered and there's something little

  356. that happens, it's little, but it's still really tight. And

  357. if this is where you live at the emotional capacity,

  358. when something real happens, when I really need to deal

  359. with an issue, there's nothing that can happen except it break.

  360. Y'all didn't even see. It was so small you couldn't

  361. even see it.

  362. If this is the issue, and I gotta get it

  363. to here, and it doesn't matter how much I try,

  364. how much I pull, as soon y'all can't even see

  365. it on the camera, because as soon as I do it,

  366. it's so small.

  367. And most people are trying to raise their kids with

  368. this much emotional capacity, trying to lead a church with

  369. this much emotional capacity trying to save their neighborhood. With

  370. that much emotional capacity, why can nothing be held together?

  371. Is because you need to You need to increase your

  372. ability watch this to be moldable, flexible, elastic around situations

  373. that you may not prefer. And some of y'all may

  374. have just a little bit bigger. I don't know if

  375. you can even see this. It's a clear it's a

  376. clear rubber band. Because some of y'all be trying to

  377. hide how you really trying to do stuff. Oh, y'all

  378. will undercover. Christians been at that job for sixteen years.

  379. Nobody know you a believer. You ain't pray for nobody

  380. in sixteen years at that job. Let your light shine right, Okay,

  381. So you same thing. And then what happens is some

  382. of us, you know, we believe in the Word, and

  383. we start doing what God says for us to do,

  384. and we get a little more regular looking. This is

  385. about the standard size of a Christian life. We should

  386. be able to get around some papers. We should get

  387. around a poster too. And it works until God calls

  388. us to something bigger than what we've been used to,

  389. and that tension begins to make us be just a

  390. little more, oh irritated, and just oh shoot. It used

  391. to work at my family church. But I don't like

  392. big churches. It's a mega church. White this it's a

  393. mega so it must be a mess because it's no

  394. your capacity to deal with people and to communicate and

  395. to email. At the family church, you would just do

  396. whatever you wanted to do, and that's why they wanted

  397. you out of there. And then you came here thought

  398. you could do what you did over there here and

  399. we don't play like that. And now, oh excuse, oh dang,

  400. where did that come from? You making a YouTube about

  401. your issues, not mine? You triggered because you haven't learned

  402. that there's protocols and procedures and you need to talk

  403. to people and you need to forgive and you need

  404. to have grace. And so as soon as somebody tries

  405. to I'm not even cutting it. I want you all

  406. to see the blades, not even doing this. All it

  407. has to do is touch, boom boom boom, touch. I

  408. love my church. And then some of us start reading

  409. the Bible and do the twenty one days of praying, fasting,

  410. and we stretch out a little bit. But there's somewhere

  411. around this Christian walk that you start to get comfortable

  412. and you say, man, I got enough to deal with

  413. most things. And then you get that diagnosis that actually

  414. challenged your faith. One of your kids stopped serving God.

  415. You was raised in church, you know the things of God.

  416. You got all things all over your pillow. Y'all know

  417. what I'm talking about. Dad, Am I dying? Sorry? That's

  418. my own trauma. Brenda Todd is my mother. You could

  419. be in the middle of the night having a sweet dream,

  420. is it bit? What is happening then? And when it

  421. gets tight, crash out, crash out, crash out, crash out,

  422. And then some of us graduate. Now we're leading others.

  423. That's crazy. I was like, Oh, you ain't seen nobody

  424. stretch that far. Isn't it amazing when people actually have

  425. the capacity to deal with others. What I'm trying to

  426. show you is that all of us should be trying

  427. to grow in our ability to stretch because in this

  428. world we will have trouble. And He's saying, could you

  429. handle it? But then I saw this, God said, what

  430. if I could get a church full of believers that

  431. could have this level of spiritual, emotional elasticity that you

  432. had enough to handle a situation that went from the

  433. top all the way to the bottom. What if you

  434. had enough grace not to just go that way? But

  435. what if, oh, y'all ain't seen nobody stretch out and

  436. be a real believer? But what if I didn't have

  437. to give up and crash out when the situation got tight?

  438. What if there were some believers who had enough emotional

  439. capacity to deal with other people's false troubles, mess ups, shame.

  440. What if we matured and people could tell us to

  441. our face who they voted for and it wouldn't change

  442. the way that you treated them. Oh, but you ain't

  443. got no capacity for nobody else. As soon as you

  444. know who they voted for, I can't fool with them

  445. no more. You know what they believe? No, they just

  446. told you who they voted for. Honestly, they don't know

  447. any of the laws. The truth of the matter is,

  448. when you're getting that voting box, you'd be like many

  449. money mother kids talking about I know, I know Governor's

  450. susans thing did It's like you don't know who that is?

  451. Is that just me? Or have anybody else just been

  452. like I like that name? I had an odd name. Okay, Hammah,

  453. write this down. I'm almost done. Emotional capacity is fueled

  454. by spiritual maturity. I'm gonna say it again. Your emotional capacity,

  455. how much you can have room for others, is based

  456. on how you let God grow you up. I mean,

  457. Jesus literally had enough emotional capacity to let a thief

  458. roll with him. If y'all knew Judas was a thing,

  459. he already knew what he was gonna do when he

  460. was like, yeah, you can come and you can take

  461. care of the money. Y'all can't stand somebody that he's

  462. in your family taking five dollars from you. You'd be like, no,

  463. I can't go to their birthday party. They don't need

  464. six dollars seventy six cents. No, tell no, We're not

  465. buying Junior a gift until they Mama take me back.

  466. It's like, dang, but do you know how much emotional

  467. capacity you have to have to share dinner, use your

  468. connections to let them come in, take them into places

  469. with you, and you know they a thief. He knew

  470. Peter was gonna cut off in the ear. You're making

  471. more work for me, Peter. You think you're doing the

  472. right thing. I'm gonna do a whole sermon on it,

  473. because God corrects Peter in the crash out, and some

  474. of us won't be corrected. And he literally is like,

  475. bro I'm about to go to the cross. I'm sweating blood,

  476. and now I gotta put the man. Sorry about that,

  477. Broo put his ear back on. Where's your emotional capacity

  478. for the children you ask God for? You? Pray God,

  479. if you would just give me these kids, God, I'll

  480. serve you. I'll do this. And and now they ask mom, mom, mommy, mother,

  481. my mom, mother, momsie, And how many moms said, I'm

  482. changing my name. I'll tell you that these are the

  483. ones you asked for. Can I really tell you what

  484. we're losing as a church because we don't, We're letting

  485. our triggers control us. Is the lack of emotional capacity

  486. in the church is killing evangelism. Do y'all know what

  487. the great commission is to go into all of the

  488. world and do what make this? You cannot disciple somebody

  489. you won't even have a discussion with. So many of

  490. us are divided by what we don't want to discuss,

  491. that we are killing the one thing everybody needs. Jesus said,

  492. tell everybody the gospel, tell them about me, and it's

  493. like us telling God. Yeah, but I'm triggered by the

  494. way they think. I'm triggered by that little you know,

  495. like slang that they talk like when they start like

  496. clockhead and like ugh, and they're two little gangster and

  497. I don't like all the and it could be little things.

  498. I feel unsafe. Really, do you feel unsafe? Are you uneducated?

  499. Some things aren't about feeling unsafe. That's lazy to say

  500. you don't know these Half of these young black dudes

  501. that look like thugs is raised in gated neighborhoods. How

  502. you know I was one? Do y'all understand what I'm saying.

  503. All they're they're trying to culturally sit in And so

  504. the reason I could buy a platinum food boom, which

  505. was not tea some of y'all'm dating myself the play

  506. y'all remember that in Fat Albert Foobi. Y'all, come, don't

  507. leave me up here, y'all remember the only reason. But

  508. it may be uneducated. You may not have enough emotional

  509. maturity to say, oh, they're still finding themselves. I remember

  510. when I was searching. I remember when my identity wasn't

  511. in Christ yet. Oh God. So my question for everybody

  512. to go home and reflect on for real today is

  513. your lack of emotional capacity? Shrink you're calling? Is God

  514. going to have to disinvite you to rooms because the

  515. packaging of who's in there it does not fit the

  516. description of who you can connect with. Is God gonna

  517. have to say, uh, not Jen, It's got to be

  518. all upper middle class white women, because she won't be

  519. able to connect with that young Latina who's struggling because

  520. she just had a baby out of wedlock, knowing that

  521. Jen had a baby out of wedlock. But the Louis

  522. and Gucci is covering it up. Now, Okay, it was

  523. nineteen years ago and their kids are now at private school.

  524. But how quickly do we forget that God puts us

  525. together in situations not because of where we are, but

  526. where He sees us being and where he wants us

  527. to be and how he wants us to connect. And

  528. this is why I'm asking us as a church, it's

  529. time for us to increase our capacity. You're so triggered

  530. by your own stuff that you won't even be able

  531. to move past you to the real reason God placed

  532. us here for others. Do y'all hear what I'm saying

  533. to you? And so I'm telling you today your capacity

  534. is calling. This is my triggered phone, and this is

  535. my mature, emotional, mature phone. Every time you're triggered, you

  536. get to pick up one of these phones. You know

  537. what today is? Today? I got time. Hello, you cheated.

  538. I saw you out at the mall. Another woman. I'm

  539. telling pastor Natalie, that's you alone down, n I got video,

  540. I got receist. Oh, I hope you got no I'm

  541. let me put this. Oh, y'all gonna leave me up here? Broma.

  542. That was edited for some of y'all. I can't pick

  543. that phone up often. Yeah, I'm telling you the truth,

  544. because if I pick up the phone and I act

  545. out of my flesh, uh uh, my capacity is calling.

  546. These are both trigger phones. They both have the capacity

  547. to get a different response out of me. But if

  548. I pick up emotionally mature Hello, passor Michael, I'll see

  549. you again at the mall. And I'm telling you right now,

  550. I got video. It's in three D. How about the

  551. metal glasses? I've seen everything. God bless you, ma'am. That

  552. is not the truth, and I would I would act. No, yeah, no,

  553. I understand what you what you think you saw? I understand,

  554. but please lose my number. No no, no, no, no, no,

  555. no no. I'll tell Pastor Natalie myself that I was

  556. at the mall with her sister. No, no, no, thank you?

  557. No no? Oh yeah, God, bless you transform church out us.

  558. I could have responded an entirely different nothing out on

  559. that call ruined my witness, who knows that she might

  560. be showing up here six months from now, broken and

  561. ready for transformation. Do y'all hear what I'm saying? But

  562. your capacity is calling? Will you grow? Oh? No, hold

  563. on one second. Hello, Hello, You're a false prophet. Excuse me.

  564. You're a false prophet. You're leading people astray. You do

  565. not preach with the word of God. You are a

  566. liar and manipulator. Let me just hang this phone up.

  567. Not even gonna respond. The only way I could put

  568. that phone down. So I've been answering this phone a

  569. lot more. Matter of fact, what some of y'all need

  570. to do? You need to break that phone? That's mike.

  571. Why Because if I don't even have the option to

  572. respond to it, and then why says this is gonna

  573. be hard no matter what they say.

  574. Okay, you're a false prophet, you're leading people astray.

  575. Hey man, all I'm trying to do is obey God.

  576. And I know you might not understand it. And I

  577. promise you I get some things wrong. But would you

  578. pray for me? No? No, no, not later. Right now.

  579. It's a lot of pressure, it's a lot of eyes.

  580. Most sundays, I don't want to do it. I didn't

  581. ask for this, I was called. All I'm saying is

  582. your capacity is called. If I couldn't handle the persecution,

  583. if I couldn't handle the comments, if I couldn't handle

  584. I'm still human, it's still it's still more. If I

  585. could just once a year pick up the other phone

  586. and get it out of me, I'd be good. So

  587. I'm gonna end us with this Hebrews chapter six, verse one.

  588. Because your capacity is calling, pastor Mike, why are you

  589. going this hard on this? Because you are forfeiting the

  590. next level of your promotion, because you will not grow

  591. in emotional capacity. God said, I can't put you there,

  592. because as soon as somebody disagrees with you, you gonna lose

  593. your witness. Will you let me change the DNA of

  594. how you respond? Will you stop reacting because of the

  595. trigger and then respond in a way of transformation because

  596. you dealt with the trauma Hebrew six'. One this is

  597. for all of. Us, therefore let us move beyond the

  598. elementary teachings About christ and be taken forward into what

  599. is this? Word? Mature can we stretch out beyond this little?

  600. Well i'm A baptist And i'm A, methodist and my

  601. families of, this hey. Stop the only way The bible

  602. tells us that they will know that we Are his

  603. it's because of our love for One of'm not does

  604. it look like any of us belong To god the

  605. way that we love in each other right? Now could

  606. it be because our emotional capacity and spiritual? Capacity, watch

  607. this is too low for Where god's calling? Us one

  608. More scripture One corinthians thirteen. Eleven And i'm gonna end with,

  609. this and next Year i'm gonna tell you what to

  610. do with. It BUT i felt like we just needed

  611. a little more. Understanding it's time for us to, Grow

  612. it's time for us to, Stretch it's time for us to.

  613. Mature it says WHEN i was a, CHILD i talked

  614. like a, CHILD i thought like a, CHILD i reasoned

  615. and responded like a. Child but WHEN i became a,

  616. MAN i had to make a decision to put the

  617. ways of childhood behind. Me, church we have to mature

  618. so that we have the capacity to go to the

  619. Places god has called. US i can't tell you how

  620. many ROOMS i find myself in that nobody believes LIKE i,

  621. believe and they Know i'm a, pastor and their countenance don't,

  622. change AND i don't encourage them to BECAUSE i believe

  623. That god changes the authentic version of. You and it's

  624. funny to watch people, like, oh he a. PASTOR i was, like,

  625. bro do what you. DO i want you to be

  626. who you are SO i can see the real transformation

  627. That god's about to do in your. Life LIKE i,

  628. Know i'm in certain rooms BECAUSE i was called. There

  629. CAN i can handle people squirming in their. STUFF i

  630. can see. Them AND i can't tell you how many

  631. texts and CALLS i had BECAUSE i had emotional maturity

  632. and the capacity to allow somebody to be where they

  633. are but not lose my conviction not conformed to their.

  634. Standards are we going to this after. This, no, no, no,

  635. No i'm good. Man it was good to meet, you.

  636. Bro here's my. Number call. Me i'm not about to

  637. get stripped. Up jesus was hanging with, sinners but he

  638. wasn't changed by. Them he was around, them but he

  639. was the change agent in those. Environments but watch he

  640. had the emotional capacity to be at that kiss his.

  641. House he was eating a meal paid for with stolen.

  642. Money some of y'all couldn't. Handle where is? This where

  643. is this bread? From you know he's a. Thief you

  644. know he's an unjust tax collect because you just have

  645. a meal with him by the end of the. Meal

  646. because Jesus is emotional capacity went beyond, race when beyond,

  647. religion when beyond the cultural norms of the. Day because

  648. he had, capacity he was able to see people. Transformed

  649. what does it look like for you to make room

  650. for people's? Faults it's a SCRIPTURE i read last? Night

  651. what was? It was it a? Second was It? Ephesians

  652. what's the one of making room for people's? Shortcomings somebody

  653. find it for me real? Quick ephesian, four wasn't? It

  654. somebody give it to me and my? MOTHER i forgot

  655. My bible to get A. CHARLES i want to read

  656. this because THIS i think It's aphesian or something. Too, yeah, yeah,

  657. yeah that's what it. Was this is How i'm gonna end,

  658. us BECAUSE i just don't want your rubber band to

  659. be so. Small, jesus thank you for your. Conviction it,

  660. says always be humble and. Gentle we could stop right.

  661. There has your reactions and your response has been humble and.

  662. Gentle even if you know the, answer have you shut it? Up?

  663. No none of you yo know What i'm. Saying is

  664. it okay to be right and not and it not be?

  665. Known can you be right and nobody? Knows sometimes that's

  666. what humility looks. Like you, know you don't always have to.

  667. Say that's WHAT i was trying to tell you when

  668. you went out there the first, Time, like be humble

  669. and be. Gentle then it says be patient with each,

  670. Other oh My, god making allowances for each other's. Faults

  671. when's the last time you increased your capacity not for,

  672. you but for. Them when was the last time you, Said,

  673. god give me more patience SO i can deal with

  674. the people at my, workplace not take me out of this.

  675. Workplace that's usually the Prayer, god get me out of.

  676. Here and he, SAID i called you. THERE i didn't

  677. put you there for the. MONEY i put you there For.

  678. Michelle michelle was your assignment. There and that's why the

  679. enemy always comes in to make you mad In, michelle

  680. Because michelle is your. Assignment and you being messy and

  681. telling about how being out last weekend and you being,

  682. petty somebody's getting convicted right. NOW i see. You i'm

  683. not gonna look at. You i'm looking straight right. Now

  684. i'll see you in the. Black but this is What

  685. i'm telling, you he. Said the assignment is getting forfeited

  686. because of the lack of our. Capacity he, said make

  687. allowances for each other's faults because of your. Love and

  688. then it, says make every, effort how many, efforts one or,

  689. two every effort to keep yourselves united in the, spirit

  690. binding yourselves together with watch this word again, Peace for

  691. there is one body and one, spirit just as you

  692. have been up there to word is called to one

  693. glorious hope for the. Future there is One, lord one,

  694. faith one, baptism One, god and One father of, all

  695. who is overall in. All and watch, this living through.

  696. All i'm gonna read. It, however he has given each

  697. of us a special gift through the generosity Of. Christ

  698. that is why the scripture saying When he ascended to the,

  699. heights he led a crowd of captives and gave gifts

  700. to his. People notice that it's said he. Ascended this

  701. clearly means That christ also descends to our lowly. World

  702. he comes to meet us in our crash. House and

  703. the same one who descends is the one who ascends

  704. higher than all the, heavens so that he might feel

  705. the entire universe with his. Glory it's time for us

  706. to grow. Church maybe you've been letting your pet peeves

  707. rob you of your. Peace maybe it's not that big

  708. of a deal that they be smacking put on some,

  709. headphones or maybe you just wait to. Eat, No i'm

  710. talking about like practical. THINGS i Know i'm being like,

  711. really but like maybe it's just, like oh, man that's really,

  712. annoying and you can live your life being annoyed for

  713. just a little bit so that you can connect with

  714. somebody or keep peace in your. Home one of the

  715. biggest things that annoyed my wife is WHEN i leave

  716. the toilet seat. Up you, KNOW i gotta talk About

  717. i'm gonna talk about me, Now, Lee i'm talking about me. Today,

  718. okay that's my. Issue and at, first WHEN i first got,

  719. MARRIED i was, like just put it, Down, mike some

  720. of the guys Like dug, like BUT i didn't think

  721. about it from the other. SIDE i could Just i'm already,

  722. Closed i'm. Flushing and how many times something just that

  723. small could change the way somebody feels cared for this?

  724. Week what if we just grew in our capacity just

  725. a little. BIT i, mean if the standard of stretching

  726. is pray for our, enemies if that if that's, like

  727. that's that's the standard Of. God we gonna admit today

  728. most of us ain't there. Yet, Lord but what if

  729. we just stretched out a little? Bit what If BECAUSE

  730. i just want you to, know all the STRETCHING i,

  731. did it didn't happen all at. Once it was a. Progression.

  732. Today are we forfeiting our calling because we have low? Capacity?

  733. Today it's time for us to? Stretch would you stand

  734. all over this? Place god has a great calling for

  735. all of, us and our calling requires that we don't

  736. crash out all the. Time you're going to have to

  737. Put christ in the middle of it so right, now

  738. if you know that you need to expand in your emotional,

  739. capacity would you lift both of your hands in the.

  740. Air come, on, y'all we're about to go. Home but

  741. here it. Is it's Me, So Father, god here we

  742. are Another, sunday not hiding from, you but asking you

  743. for your help all around this, world as people are

  744. watching this live and on, rebroadcast and as the people

  745. are in this, Room, GOD i think you that Your

  746. Holy spirit is here right now increasing our ability to

  747. handle what is not always. Easy, father your word says

  748. that we make room or allowance for other people's, fault, shortcomings, issues, corks,

  749. preferences And, father that you would keep us in perfect

  750. peace in the middle of. It, so in the name Of,

  751. JESUS i thank you that in this place we pray

  752. Tewod peter three to, nine and we remember that over

  753. our lives That, lord you're not being slow and keeping

  754. your promises as some would understand, Slowness But, father you

  755. are being patient with. Us thank you for your patience with.

  756. Us thank you that you didn't just expect us to

  757. do what you told us, yesterday and every time we messed,

  758. Up Father, god you threw us. Away thank you for

  759. your grace that let us progress to the place we are.

  760. Today And, God i'm asking that you would let us

  761. remember your graces we deal with. Others increase my capacity

  762. to love, somebody say. That increase my capacity to. Love come,

  763. on say increase my capacity to forgive say It cocrease

  764. my capacity to forgive one. More increase my capacity to

  765. Say i'm. Sorry. Sheeees, god let us be connectors of.

  766. Unity let us not be so. Triggered, Father, god let

  767. us put you in the middle of anything that even

  768. looks like a crash out so that we can increase our.

  769. Capacity hear me say, This look at me real. Quick

  770. we're going. Home god can use. You this may be

  771. controversial to, some BUT i need you to hear me say.

  772. This how Much god can use you in this. Lifetime

  773. it's not up To, god it's up to. You If

  774. he would supply you with everything you, need if he

  775. would take you into the places and give you what you,

  776. need you still would have to say. Yes and SO

  777. i KNOW i titled this thing capacity is, Calling but

  778. what if we said it like. This as you go

  779. home and, meditate your capacity is your. Call you want to,

  780. Grow you can, Say, god increase my measure of. Faith

  781. you want to go to another, Level you can, Say,

  782. GOD i thank you that you make me more. Generous

  783. you want to be able to stop crashing out and

  784. cussing everybody. Else, god, Say, father put a bridle on my.

  785. Tongue so WHEN i want to say this, Thing, Father,

  786. GOD i can say something that is uplifting your. Capacity

  787. it's your. Call stop blaming the, man, culture your parents
